"But obviously then the other big news is that this game will be $70 up from $60. So people have feelings about that. I think Nintendo was just responding to the market, both Xbox and PlayStation raised the base price of their first party games. Why wouldn't Nintendo they know that you're going to buy it? They know that you're going to bitch about it online and then you're going to open up that wallet anyway. That's it. I'm someone who has a hard time stomach and spending 1520 bucks to go watch a movie for two hours just because I'd rather do that from the comfort of my own home. But I will happily spend 60, $70 for a 5, ten hour experience in a video game. So I don't think it's right when people tell people that this isn't worth your money because I think that's a personal decision. I think the conversation should probably tailor more around to what is causing this pricing, et cetera, et cetera, but that's a whole can of worms. Yeah, I think it gets tricky when we talk about games that are potentially broken or non functioning. And then it's like, well, is this worth your money? But I think we all know that that's not going to be the case with tears of the kingdom, right? At least we hope not something would have to dramatically change the Nintendo's production pipeline that this game comes out so broken, it's not worth $70. If you subjectively just don't like it, that's a completely different story. But yeah, I just think it's 2023, the price of games hasn't gone up in a very long time. I'm not surprised that all three have raised their prices. I think they just waited to see who was going to do it first. And Sony, of course, was like, oh yeah, we'll do it first. We don't care. We don't give a fuck. We'll raise the price. And the next box is like, okay, we'll do it too. I'm not Nintendo's like, well, if everyone else is doing it, why not us? Well, I wish I had more to say, but I don't. In fact, I don't wish I had more to say that. But it left, I mean, I can't contribute to that. I can not give you any more than that. Alyssa if you didn't know, now you know, this is the place to come. Now I know it all. So a bunch of other things did happen in the Nintendo direct, but because there's a bunch of other news that we also want to talk about. I'm just going to skim over them and if you of course want to get more details, I will just point you to the direct itself. We got a nice long look at pikmin four, which was great because we really hadn't seen a ton from that game yet. We heard about the splatoon three expansion pass, Nintendo just out of the blue decided to drop metroid prime remastered. It's available today. Everyone's like, wait, what? That just happened? Like Twitter? Every single direct from here on out needs to have one of those moments, like Xbox nailed it, Nintendo just nailed it. Please, if we're going to sit and watch something in the middle of the day for two hours, give me a game to play afterwards. Mandatory. Sony, your neck. PlayStation. You can do it. Advance wars one and two got a release date, April 21st. We saw some from the fourth wave for Mario kart deluxe all of the DLC they're doing for that game. We got another look at Disney illusion island, which continues to look really cute. Professor Layton is back. The new world of steam. So that was a surprise as well. I saw the game fashion designer, which is an exceed game. That's coming. And I wrote down, do I want this game, but it reminds me a lot of the Facebook fashion game that I kept getting ads for, and I haven't had a chance to suss out if this is the same developer or not. And then we got a really nice look at The Lion King content that's coming to dream like valley. Later on in the spring, they had confirmed that Simba was coming to Disney dreamlight valley, but they didn't confirm that novel was also coming and we got to look at both of them in the trailer. That was nice. And then of course, the kind of bigger news besides, I would say the second piece of biggest news besides Zelda, of course, was this Nintendo Switch online business with all the Game Boy games. Alyssa, which of the games, when you saw it come across the trailer, you were like, hell yeah, that's my game. Well, like Kirby, the first Kirby game that came out. I was like, that's like, I got a Game Boy at my parents were like, pick two games. And we're not buying you anything else for a long time. So it was that and it was I had a, I think it was like jeopardy. Oh, no. Okay, that's a choice? I just wanted to be like smart and knowledgeable. But yeah, I mean, I don't play my switch as much as I could or should. Like getting old Game Boy games on there. That will get that back in my hand all the time. If you get me right in the nostalgia, that's it. There's a take it. I'm doing it. You're nostalgic fiend like I am to them. I am. I just don't want to be old. I don't blame you. I was really happy that they threw in wario, land three in there. I was hoping they were going to put one and two, but I'll take three and hopefully you'll get more. I don't know if any of y'all played wario land growing up. But those were great games on the Game Boy, so much fun. After we record the show tonight, I'm gonna call my dad and tell him he can play on his switch. I love this. You know, again, like after having COVID last month and kind of resorting to just playing games online with my dad through Nintendo Switch online because I couldn't interact with my husband. I couldn't interact with my kids. I was doing games with him the whole time and it was so fun and that all of these are available like damn like yeah. I am glad that they're not charging extra for it as part of the subscription. Obviously you have to pay for the subscription but it's not that expensive because we probably would buy these again if they were charging, but I appreciate that they're like, it's okay. We're doing all right right now. Turns out we've sold a lot of switches. Segue into the next story that Nintendo Switch has surpassed the PlayStation 4 and of course the Game Boy, which we were just talking about to become the third bestselling console of all time. Congratulations to us. A 122.55 million units. Million. That's a lot of switches. It makes me wonder if our House has four switches. Yeah, we do too. But regardless, this is lovely and wonderful.

"Today we're brought to you by shady ray's and honey, but we'll tell you about that later for now. Let's begin with what is and forever will be the over report. It's time for something new. We have 5 stories today. Starting with our number one, of course, a Nintendo direct happened yesterday. Of course, you can watch our live reactions to it and that our games cast post show, breaking down all our thoughts and feelings, but today we're gonna start off with a quick recap for you of that Nintendo direct and get into even deeper conversation. So yesterday, that direct started off with pikmin four that got a July 21st release date. Congrats Lakers head. Congrats Lakers head. We got a xenoblade expansion that's coming out February 15th. Samba day migo party central got revealed that is coming summer 2023. Fashion dreamer got revealed from X seed games. That is coming in 2023. Dead cells return to Castlevania got a trailer that has the dead cells DLC, where they return to Castlevania. That's coming out on March 5th with so much Castlevania music and remixes and just love and tender care. Love and tender care. We got Tron identity that's coming out in April. We got a new trailer for people. What's up? We got a new trailer for ghost trick phantom detective that's coming out this summer. A game I don't know about, but everybody is mad at me for not knowing apparently they're like, Imran and Jared petty. Love this thing. Hey, I get it. Those tricks infamously, the DS, one of my least favorite of the Nintendo generations and experiences overall. We'd beat agents notwithstanding. Deca police from level 5 games that got revealed as coming out in 2023. Bayonetta origins, Syriza in the lost demon or you may know it as bayonetta surveys of origins. That got an overview of its gameplay and that's coming out march 17th. Splatoon three expansion pass wave one ink opis got revealed that came out later yesterday. And then wave two got teased. That is called side order. Side order. Disney illusion island got a trailer that's coming on July 28th. Looks fucking awesome. Fire emblem. So Disney illusion island is the one I'm excited about. I keep getting mixed up with dream light valley, which Joey's really doing. Which joy is really excited about. Fire emblem engage got a new trailer for its expansion of the expansion features characters like chrome and Robin, wave two was out later yesterday. And you don't not game was revealed, harmony, the fall of reverie, that is coming out in June, and also was revealed to have a Lena raine OST and a really cool art style. This definitely seems like one for them of like, all right, we've done our thing for so long. People loved it. They did. But now let's try to go for a different audience. And I think they're going to succeed with that based on what we saw yesterday. And it feels like them trying to find an identity post life is strange, where now life is strange, of course, is owned by Square Enix. Deck 9 is working on the live streams games. A decline, I think it's found a really good identity with the live strange games after true colors. Kind of funny dot com slash wrong. I think don't know how to tell me why? I always get that confused 'cause now they make exactly what I thought. Now they make similar games, but I think donut is telling me why I don't not also did twin mirror twin mirror did not get good reception. But I see chat freaking out. It's crumb. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. All right, you fucking nerds. Show some fucking respect. Crumb. Oh no, yeah, crumb. Pro would have been a pro name. I'm just saying, his name should be chrome. Their name should be chrome, Google Chrome. Anyway, this new do not game harmony the follow reverie. It looks like a good next step for them. And then we got a Montage featuring octopath two. We got a demo out for that, of course, like we do with those games. We got a katamari remaster trailer with a game trial. See a star has got a date August 29th and the demo is out and then omega strikers is coming to switch and that got a trailer. Looked

"But what does the CCP's calculation here? I don't quite understand that part. They say it's a weather balloon. I don't believe them. But was this just kind of a an act of defiance, not even defiance, but just kind of a reminder that they're in charge. I mean, what is the, what is the CCP's motive, a giant troll operation? Because they knew what was going to be discovered. Well, Charlie, I think there's two things going on here. Number one, obviously from their perspective is they want to know what's going on with our nuclear facilities. They want to conduct collection signals collection when it comes to the types of codes that we're using, the encrypted codes that we're using for communications around these around these facilities, they could be using a number, by the way of scientific sensors, not for the cloud cover, but potentially obviously these are our underground facilities so they could have been using LIDAR or other sensors to look into these at a lower level where a low and slow persistent collection platform would be much easier and gain much greater fidelity for those collection operations rather than high flying satellite that may only have a very low, very low view window as it's flying over in higher orbit. But there's also exercises that were held actually exercises that included defense of the Pacific from nellis air base that were just about one week prior to this. So we can be looking at it from a timing perspective that they're collecting on our exercises, the way that, of course, they always collect on our exercises, but not within the continental United States. So I think we really need to look at this as a series of escalations that's been going on for years that our government has not only been gaslighting us about, but apparently they were gaslighting the previous administration about as well in general milley needs to absolutely be subpoenaed by this new Congress. We need all of them to be subpoenaed to understand exactly what's going on with these operations because now it's the Chinese have been given a free hand and it's spilled over to the point where now Americans are asking are the Chinese spying on our cell phone calls? Are they looking at what's going on? Are they sucking up all the signals that we produce on a regular basis as it's given complete impunity to fly over the United States? And I saw some people say, oh, well, it's being jammed. It certainly wasn't Jan, the entire time. If that thing's got burst transmission on it, which I'm sure it does, it was obviously sending back first signals and downloaded signals to their to their collection platform back home. And the fact that we allowed it, Charlie, I think it really speaks to the overall emasculation of the United States, not only as a country, but specifically for our military. There was a time under the Trump administration or in the Cold War where something like this would have been shot down immediately. And we wouldn't have had to wait for local press or local folks on Twitter just to be posting about it. I think we would have shot it down and then we would have asked them what was going on. Yeah, I mean, it's just such an insult to all of us. As a layman, someone who's not been in the military, I look at this and it doesn't make any sense to me at all. And I feel as if the regime doesn't care to explain or elaborate. What's the explanation check that they've given that we allowed them to complete their tour of the United States and then shoot it out over water. They were that worried about debris hurting somebody, is that right? We'll try to they're saying, oh, we can reduce the risk to zero, but there's massive swaths of Alaska, the Yukon wilderness that this flew over in Western Canada, Montana itself that would the illusion islands were easily could have been shot down prior to all of this, we're told they were tracking it for something like ten days, but we know that blinken had his trip coming up, and that's why they didn't want to upset the emperor. He has his audience with the emperor, and of course Charlie, the reason that doesn't make sense is because this is not how a sovereign nation acts. This is how a vassal state acts when our emperor from afar. What I mean by that is that I mean we're owned. We are owned, our government's own, our military, obviously, is kowtowing to this..

"I'm Billy Cunningham, the great American welcome and so many issues are going on with Chris Cuomo and news nation. They're about the only cable channel gaining in the ratings. But watch him almost every night and last night I watched a course to get ready for all the issues today tomorrow and over the weekend and also into next week. Chris Cuomo, I want to get right to it. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham. So can I make an opening statement? Go ahead, knock yourself out. I feel as if we're blessed to live an interesting times, but there are things happening right now that makes the American heart and soul become unsettled. I watch your coverage about the fentanyl what's happening on the southern border. It's nothing short of an invasion that's killing tens of thousands of Americans every year and it goes on at infinitum for the last several years now it's accelerating. You got Chinese so called weather balloons just happen to be floating over Montana. I'd put the duttons in charge, I'd get the Yellowstone ranch rip would solve this problem in a heartbeat. I look at our budget deficits and problems in the accumulated debt of $31.4 trillion. And I would note that this year, the federal government is going to collect from we taxpayers, Chris Cuomo, about $4.4 trillion, which is the exact budget number from 2019, which is 4.4 trillion, so to have a balanced budget all we got to do is spend what was spent in 2019 and that we have a president who is mentally frail, who may belong in assisted living, not capable, I think, of responding himself those around him manipulate what goes on. We have the issues everywhere I look, we got Russia now, supposedly I watched your coverage of news nation. There might be as many as 500,000 conscripts about to complete the invasion of Ukraine, which is going to be massive loss of life, God knows what's going to happen. I look at all these issues and I think about a fine lawyer supposedly Murdoch, who's seemingly was stealing money from clients, probably killed his wife and son may not be able to prove it, who knows. So in all that happening, Chris Cuomo, I sense America is rudderless. We don't know, we don't have leadership, especially out of Washington, and when the Chinese show us such disrespect, I can imagine this balloon floating around the illusion islands just happen to park itself over the ICBM fields in Montana just by happenstance. On the southern border, terrible things are going on. A poet once said, may you be blessed to live an interesting times? I find these times a bit too interesting. And so pick one or two of those things, especially on the southern border that could be stopped, and it's not stopped. Chris Cuomo, how much trouble are we in? I think you should move. I think the great American Cunningham should move. To win the question becomes, where would you rather live? Where would you rather live? Answer me that question. Oh, I thought about going to Madagascar and breed Komodo dragons for a living. I thought, okay, I'll go off the coast of Africa, get out of a completely, but then look at the way those individuals live. I want no part of it. I want no part of Central America. I want no part of South America. I want no part of Russia. So there's nowhere else you'd rather, right? No, no, this is it, man. Okay. Then change your attitude. America's always in trouble until you compare it to anywhere else, okay? And let's strip the politics out of it because you would have never said any of the things you just said now about the last administration, although they could just as easily be set. You want to talk about incompetent leadership, America is the worst place in the world until you compare it to anywhere else. We have our struggles. We have our challenges, but we have opportunities to do better. And I'm telling you, you've got to believe me on this. If we could get away from this party system in this two party game, things would become so much more reasonable. When you talk to the American public about what matters to them. Let's even look at the southern border. Do people think that we need to be safer there? Yes. Do people think that dreamers are obviously citizens like the rest of us? Yes. Do they believe that you should be able to lead asylum to get into the country, but you should have to do it from somewhere else unless you're in extremists, being chased for your life. Yes. So if it's 80% of us agree on these things, how come none of them get done. Now, that takes us to the real problem. I don't deal with the distraction of a Chinese weather. Balloon. Okay. I don't care about the weather balloon. I don't care about UFOs. I care about fentanyl. I care about a government that sees more leverage in problems than solutions. And I hate that the country gets played this way. And I see fentanyl. People keep saying, man, you covering it. A lot. I'm afraid for my kids. Right, Bill. And now people will say they'll get puritanical and say, well, your kids shouldn't smoke marijuana. Your kids shouldn't play with drugs. Okay, now welcome to reality. I'm not saying my kids are junkies. But if you don't think that a

"And I'm really, really inspired by the energy there. People were just so excited to see these projects. Disney is a very wholesome brand in general compared to a lot of Disney magic, maybe? Yeah, so it was just overly positive, even like the celebrities on stage were just so loving and so caring and has so many great messages. So if there's anything you're curious about that, it was at D 23. I encourage you to go look up videos because it was a lot of great information and it's impossible to cover all of it and one place. I have to give a shout out to your amazing outfit that you were wearing. Thank you. My God, woman. You embodied brilliant 90s sexiness. I was going for that. Wait, would you be talking about? I just saw the day of the showcase. You had these bright ass patterns, something, something on, girl. Yeah, that was my Nickelodeon shirt. That's it. Oh my God. So good. So good. Awesome. Well, thank you so much for popping in, even though you're technically out of town on the show this week we, of course, if you guys are listening to the show I've already heard, we've got Janet Garcia on the show with us and we look forward to getting an update on how everything went on the book tour when you get back. Well, it was super fun to get to talk to read about all of that. I wish I could have been there, but someone had to keep this baby alive. Tough job. Brutal. It is brutal. Actually, I watched it on the interwebs. You got one tweet out. I did. One, exactly. One tweet about the illusion island and that was it. That was good. That was a worthy title worthy of a tweet. Thank you. I appreciate that. Now, let's continue on with the rest of the show. Normally, after a big new segment like this, we would take a nice break and then come back and talk about what we've been playing, but it's been a busy week. So we're actually not going to do that. But as I alluded to, Brittany, you're going to be playing some stuff. Crisis quarter Final Fantasy 7 reunion, I get to play that. I get to talk about it. I'm so excited, Zach fair. Have you played that game? No. Have you eaten? I mean, you know, you know I'm very confused about everything squares doing with Final Fantasy right now. Oh man, no, yeah, I'm gonna be able to talk about that next week. I've been playing star ocean, the divine force, writing quest treasures. These are some Brit ask games, and I'm just very, very excited to talk about all of those in depth next week when I'm back on the show because you know it's just the timing of everything. I can talk about it this week. That's fine. Don't worry about it. I'll have lunch. But Janet, thank you so much for coming by the show, what an excellent week to have you on. And as we mentioned at the top of the show, you're doing lots of stuff. So where is the best place for people to keep up with you and all the things you're doing? Yeah, you can follow me on Twitter dot com, my handle is at game honesty. That's game oh and why SUS and that's my handle across everything. Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, every single place on the Internet. That's the handle. If there's a place in the Internet that you go to, that doesn't have my handle, it isn't creepy. Let me know. And maybe I'll sign up. But you know what I mean? Don't be weird. Don't make it weird. Don't make it weird. Oh, we have a platform. For all my content, but yeah. Yes. And I want to give a shout out to all of our end of podcast listeners. Oh, yeah. So many of you tweeted to me because I asked you at the end of last week's episode. I said, who are the die hards that are making it to the end of each episode? Yeah, a lot. Let me know. So thank you to everybody. I think I responded to almost everyone. I think there's maybe a one or two of you that maybe substitute the cracks in for that. I sincerely apologize. But I was warmed by how many of you were like, Avi, we make it to the end of the episode. Were the die hard. So thank you for the support, as always, like hearing from you guys, you know, makes us feel really good and reminds

"More. Can there possibly be more? Into the show. I don't think we could. Yakuza developer is interested in Nintendo Switch. Quote, we think of ourselves as people of my world. Oh my God. Amazing. The cloud version can't wait. Oh, it's terrible. It's so great. Or really not nice looking not cloud version. So we're going to have a weird cut here because you may have already deduced by getting this far into the episode that one ran Emmanuel Pena is not here this week, and that is because she is in Florida with her husband doing a promotional book tour for Danny loves video games, which is available now. If you guys missed it, and we got the chance to catch up with her Britt and I did about her experience at D 23 because in addition to everything else that's happened since last week's episode, Disney and marvel had a showcase last Friday after the show published featuring one blessing at a OE junior from kind of funny. Crushed it lesson. And this is where you would take a shot when I say my husband works for Disney and the game's department, did he work on literally all these announcements? Yes, he did. So Rihanna went down to D 23 and checked out everything for us and we sat down and chatted with her. So let's roll the clip. Hey everybody, welcome to our special mini segment with Rihanna Manuel Pena our normal ride or die weekly co host who is on vacation doing some really fun stuff. Why are you gone from the show this week? Yeah, me from the future is calling in to say. I am with my wonderful husband, Danny Pena, down in Miami, Florida for his book release. So yay. Yes, September 15th is beginning of Hispanic heritage month, and he's celebrating by officially releasing his book. Danny loves video games by mister Luna, and there is going to be an in person event where there's going to be some Q&A with Danny and the author, and then also some signing opportunities. So it'll be really fun. He gets to meet people who are excited for the book in person. And I'm sure we'll have lots of stories to tell you about that. Woohoo. I'm super happy for y'all. I think that it's such an awesome opportunity to tell such a wonderful story and it was great to have DNA on the show just a couple of weeks back. So if you guys missed that episode, Danny told us the whole story about how the book came together and how it follows his life. So please go back and check that out if you missed it and congrats again to our friend Danny. But that's not why you're here today technically. You are here because you were in person at D 23. Yes, the Disney expo that happened last weekend. Get your shots lined up, everybody. Just kidding. So the Disney and marvel game showcase also happened last week, but you were there in person to kind of take in the whole scene. Was this your first D 23? It was. It was my first D 23 and shout out and congratulations to kind of funny is blessing at AAU junior for being an incredible host. He did such a great job both in the video portion that was live streamed and then also the Q&A after, which I got to sit front ish row four. So yeah, it was really exciting. It was a lot of Disney magic in the air for sure. I loved how enthusiastic high if you're watching on YouTube dot com slash what's good games. I was gonna mention, yes, but you explain. Yeah, you know, I'm a responsible adult and I got my COVID booster shot yesterday. Hashtag go science and unfortunately, though, my ass is being kicked. So right now on YouTube, I am an avatar of myself looking. That's how I feel on the inside. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, but on the outside I look like death. So there we go. Enough about me though, but blessing definitely had that Disney magic about it when he was hosting he had that energy. So much energy. And nailed it. And I was like, yeah, dude, like you belong on a Disney commercial. Yeah, it was a really fun showcase to watch. I am bummed that Disney didn't put the panels afterwards on the live stream at some point, or put the vods up, and I guess that's part of the, hey, you had to be there in person, but I think some of the vods are up now on their own. If they are, that's great. I have to go check them out. They weren't the last time I checked, but because I wanted to learn a little bit more. So we aren't going to run down everything that was in the showcase because a lot of it was mostly just updates on existing games, but they did have a couple game announcements, which we'll get to in a second, but what were some of the things that you saw at D 23 that you want to chat about today? Yeah, well, sticking two games 'cause obviously there's lots and lots to cover that Fincher's outside of it with marvel being there and all. I was really, really excited to see both Amy hennig's untitled project coming up soon. And then also illusion islands. We actually had the opportunity to sit down after the showcase and after the panel with the dilemma team, who was working on this game and got a little bit of history on it apparently it was around in the development ether for a while and then Disney games stopped working on that project and now they have this revival in this opportunity to come back and make it happen. So there's a lot of excitement, a lot of triumph and yeah, I'm excited to see how that project turns out. Yeah, I saw it was in development. I think in 2016, that's what I said. When I read, I love this so much. It's this foreplay or co op platformers, but it looks like it right now. I feel like these are so hot, let alone slap Disney together. On top of it, and then all these iconic characters. And I think each character has their own moveset if I remember correctly. Either way, this just looks so damn cute. And this is probably the game that I'm most excited about from that showcase. Yeah, it definitely was a highlight for a lot of people at the show as people are walking around saying like, hey, what was the biggest, the biggest highlight for you? This one definitely came up from a lot of people and not just folks who are in the Disney camp. So it sounded like it really resonated with folks. And I know we've seen a lot of trends recently with this co op experiences, but it seems like this one's going to be worth checking out for sure. What's the name of this game again? Illusion island. Is that right? Yes. Okay, I'll give you a little bit of a little background here. So join Mickey and pretend I don't sound dead.

"Greg's gone, hanging out with his mom. I'm mommy's boy. We got bless here. We got bear. We're about to have a good time. We're getting into the D 23 news. Blast starting that off. Overall, how was it? Dude, it was fantastic. It was such a good time. Of course, that was my first time actually attending D 23, the expo. And when I tell you that this is going to sound so pandering, but whatever. The energy at D 23 is so good compared to so many other cons that I've been to, where you go in and everybody's just happy to stand Mickey Mouse and hang out with marvel people and have fun like being fans of all this stuff that is inherently wholesome. Like compared to like video game conventions or other nerd conventions. It's hard to be salty about Mickey Mouse. And so just hanging out with the expo was fun by itself. But then also, when I tell you, Tim, that I feel like every other hour I was doing some dope thing that I wasn't expecting to be doing. So for people who probably watched the showcase, right? Of course, the showcase happened and then I got to host the panel live on the D 23 stage on the premiere stage. And that was a really cool thing. That was for me the thing that I was trying to the thing that I was kind of thinking about the whole time and working my nerves up because that was a big stage, big audience, all that stuff went really well, I had a really good time interviewed a bunch of dope developers, but then throughout the weekend, there were these live D 23 expo stage shows. Where on the expo floor, there's a stage that is being live streamed to YouTube and other social channels. What I didn't know. And I knew I know it's going to be hosting those segments. What I didn't know is that straw had goofy. One of my favorite TikTokers was going to be basically in showing an actual in my segments. And so it's me. Yeah, so sick, right? "Come up so that that's number one number two. You know, one of the things that we talked about the Trump Administration. It's one thing to buy administrations talked about my support is the idea that we're going to as we withdraw from Afghanistan. We're going to redeploy troops and assets to Asia Pacific. We really need to make sure that's not just the talking points. So when we take a lot of these battle hardened troops of ours, who performed so well for so many years in Afghanistan. And we would pull them out. We need to put them in places like Guam and Robertson barracks and in, uh, Darwin, Australia in the illusion islands in Hawaii. Uh and and the American territories, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands. We need to make sure that we actually take some of that combat power. And put it in the Asia Pacific region end up Pacific region to deter the Chinese. Third, We have a compact of free association with the island nation of Palau, Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia, which basically means we run their foreign policy in their defense. We need to renew that compact is up for renewal. The negotiations aren't going anywhere, partly because the post office wants more money to deliver mail there. That's a small cost. We gotta get post office paid. You know, we don't want to mail carriers. Going into debt, but we need to make sure we can deliver mail these islands, but that compact gives us access military access to a bath swap swap the Pacific Ocean. You know, we need to get that done. So those are those are three of the things that we can do. We got on immediately. You would think there would be support with within the by administration for that, and and there's some other steps we can take as well. But well, John and I were looking to do is Was point out a path and how do we quietly confidently and Send a message. The Chinese are not withstanding what's happening in Afghanistan. America's Retain its leadership role and ran, start rebuilding credibility, stress with our allies and the end of Pacific region. Last question, Mr Ambassador, if you could If you could. Advise the president on what to say in a public speech. I would advise him to warn the Taliban were staying as long as it's possible to get our people out. And if they interfere will be back and forth. But what would you advise him to say? In any in his next televised appearance, because what he has said thus far has had the opposite of increasing confidence in America. Well, look, the president his team have access to the intel of what's happening on the ground. But you know what? What's always worked in international affairs. National security going back to Roman times. This is not Any. Any great insight is a piece of strength works. The President Reagan showed that President Trump said that we need to go checking strength and not weakness. And, uh and one way to project strength would be that absolutely as you state let the Taliban Let Isis and Al Qaeda and the others that are regrouping in Afghanistan. No, they look, the United States of America is not leaving until we're coming home with all of our citizens, and I think the next thing he needs to do Is along the lines of what director Right click my wrote in Our Op ed, which was meant to be a bipartisan roadmap and not not a partisan attack is to say, Look, American leadership. Our credibility may have suffered. You know, there are mistakes made and how it did this withdraw. But that doesn't mean that America is going away from the world stage. We're moving, uh, dramatically and significantly forward in the end of Pacific region, working with the quad with our allies in India, Australia, Japan. Other allies, Treaty allies in the region. Thailand and the Philippines. Sovereign nations like Vietnam that don't want to the end of the Chinese boot, and we're gonna be in the Arctic. We're gonna be in the Antarctic. We're going to be You know, we're going to put a Coast guard cutter, for example, in America, American Samoa, and it's amazingly American territory with 50,000 Americans, and they don't have a Coast Guard cutter and in similar to protect them from illegal, unreported and unregulated Chinese fishing. We're going to put a coast guard cutter in Samoa. I mean, there are things that we can do, uh, that are that demonstrate American confidence and demonstrate American leadership and we need to move out of those things. They can't be subject to rounds and rounds and rounds of Deputies Committee and PCC meetings that they see in the Pentagon. We have to move out and show American leadership. So the folks know notwithstanding what's happened in Afghanistan that America is there and we're gonna be behind our allies around the rest of the world. Mr. Ambassador. Thanks for your time. I know you have been working behind the scenes on behalf of some of the people that you know, in Afghanistan. Good luck in those efforts as well. Thank you for joining me. "Good on my way to see the World War two boat right now, because we're planning to pull it out Tuesday out of the water to tell our listeners what you've got going on there. So I've been proud to help achieve bringing a actually It's one of the last World War. Two US Army crash boats It's an 85 ft boat that was built in California. She's the last Operational an original crash boats of that era. So tell everybody what a crash boat does, Ted. Well, basically the U. S Army during World War two, constructed and fill or had purchased built these boats to rescue down pilots also used them to insert. Special teams to go behind enemy lines and Scout Island and you know in the Pacific to see if there was any Japanese Japanese occupation or forces there, Um And they also served in Korea as well. Rescuing downed pilots and doing the same thing. A bunch of CIA missions. Boats kind of were also nicknamed Spook boats. Because the OSF and the CIA, we're using those votes insert special teams. And do all types of psyops missions and so forth, But none of them have ever been lost in combat. Um, this is the last one is very similar to a PT boat and shapes and forms. But you know, the U. S Army actually controlled it, And then it went to the airport. When the army and the airport split in the 50. So proud to have her there in Cambridge, just because that shipyard built the World War two boats back then, and they built, I think about 15 of her sister ships. There at that facility, so we're actually gonna be bringing her up on the railway slip. On Tuesday, and that's the first time those rails have touched an 85 FT crash boat for some 80 plus years. Wow and how long is going to be up on the railway? Um, we're going to have some insurance work done from some damage that occurred at shipping when it was transported to Florida from Mexico. What through the Panama Canal and Basically, we're hoping we only have her out of the water for maybe a month. Wow. So so so if people come down to Cambridge, and they go to the to the city dock over there They can look across the way and see that boat up on the rails. They will see that boat up on the rails and basically, hopefully we'll have her back in the water very soon. I mean, we're going to have our finally we'll have our ship. Survey Hall survey done. And our Coast Guard inspection done as well. We can start charging for tours. It's something that I'm proud of that we brought to the Chesapeake. We want to make this sort of, uh, sort of like a pride of Baltimore but its power vote and the World War two historical vote. And traveling the chance to speak and educating the public on the service and the communities, you know, like a lot of ones that you represent Andy that help contribute to the war effort for World War two building these kind of votes. Absolutely just a wonderful piece of history. I mean, you know, you know, it's one of those things where you stand on the boat. And, you know, we had the the privilege of joining Ted and going out actually out into the Choptank on the boat and you stand on the boat. And you just think Like what has this boat scene? Right. You know, if you could, if you could picture what this vote is seen, because you right, Ted? I mean, the idea that you know they had special boats that you were just out there to go and recover pilots. Yep, you know, and it really is an amazing experience to just even walk around it because Go ahead, Ted. You appreciate. I mean, you see the pictures we have on board of these boats operating in Alaska and the illusions island rescuing down pilot and you're saying I'm on a wooden boat in ice floes. You know, at minus 40 degree weather? Yes. And and it's a doctor going back, going back to the stern and looking at the quote hospital that was in the back. You know that hospital is not a hospital. I want to be. Yeah. I mean, wooden bunks where you basically have to get these and I imagine some of these pilots were pretty badly injured coming down and you've got to get them there, stabilize them, Bring them back, and they're literally lying in these wooden bunks. Cramped quarters. As you can imagine a boat like anyway, It's a great piece history, Ted. Thanks very much for calling and have a great July 4th holiday. That really was a great experiencing that seeing that boat. We'll have to encourage people to when he starts the tours.
