Meanwhile, George Santos is like a hundred, what? Four months? Four months in George Santos gets is now in custody in New York, facing 20 years and the allegations against him are just phenomenal. I mean, this stuff is just, I mean, listen, let me set the stage. Play cut 91 will lay out the charges against him. George Santos is in custody and this indictment has been on sealed. I want to give you some quick details as we're going through the paperwork. He is charged on a 13 count indictment, according to those court documents, the charges include 7 counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds and two counts of making materially false statements to the house of representatives okay, so no clear example of this two tiered system of justice that we have in America, then this case right here. You don't have to like George Santos. You don't have to defend his lying. We're not going to do that here. But they four months and the guys face in 20 years. Meanwhile, Ilhan Omar credible allegations would suggest married her brother. She's been accused of multiple campaign finance violations, Lion up to wazoo, and guess what? She's still serving happily away in Minnesota. In the House of Representatives, Ilhan the ingrate. Saved by America hates America. It doesn't matter. We don't do anything about it. Democrats now sympathize more with Palestinians than Israel for the first time in decades, the latest polling, this just blows my mind. This is from Gallup Boris. Help me understand this. Now, 49% of registered Democrats have a preferential view of the Palestinian authority over Israel and the pro Israel vote has sunk to 39%. Do these people not understand the difference between these two communities? They do not understand it. And it is absolutely disappointing, depressing and awful, that the left in America, Ilhan Omar, she looked like AOC, Jim Clyburn, Nancy Pelosi. Their push to anti Israel, anti zionist, like beyond anti semitic agenda so far that now as well as pulling low solo with American public. President Trump stood for his move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem he took out from Soleimani, he fought for Israeli independence. But we have people like Ilhan Omar. She wants to crack down on corporate greed when it comes to rails and the privately owned sections of rails, but really what we have to do is we have to make sure that our rails are safe. Democrats passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure Bill and only $5 billion went towards rail safety. This is a failure. It would have never happened under a Republican controlled infrastructure Bill, and we need to hold Democrats accountable for this, especially Pete Buttigieg.

And you all, the Republican caucus, rewarded him with one of the most prestigious committee assignments in this Congress. Don't tell me this is about consistency. Don't tell me this is about condemnation of anti semitic remarks. When you have a member of the Republican Party, now she's talking about Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has talked about Jewish space lasers and tropes and also elevated her to some of the highest committee assignments in this body. This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America and don't tell me because I didn't get a single apology when my life was threatened. Amen. Amen. This is a fascinating insight into desantis. Desantis in late December around December 20 has started ranting about the college boards advanced placement African American studies course and oh my God, it's got queer studies in it and stuff like that. He didn't start this. He jumped on a train that began writing down the tracks back in September. When national review, William F. Buckley's old magazine, William F. Buckley has passed away now, but he came right out and said that he thought that white people were genetically superior to African Americans. And William F. Buckley's publication was the one who started this, who started calling out the college board and saying, oh my God, oh my God, you know, look at this. And it turns out that the college board makes big buck I think I said 2 billion in the earlier in the first hour. I was wrong. They made over $1.1 billion in revenue in 2019. Almost half of that came from this, these AP and classes, these advanced placement classes. And compared with 2019, 55% of colleges required test scores now it's only 4% of schools require test scores and their CEO took home two and a half million bucks in 2020. So basically, the college board and they're coming out now and saying, no, we didn't bother to Sanders. We were making these decisions in December before he came out and said anything. Well, they were doing it in response to other right wingers. So then to sat us seeing that the college board is going to change their mind on something, comes out and acts like he's the guy that caused them to change their minds. It's like, I'm the fascist. "Here's the problem. I mean, and I have to ask you directly. It's a two part question. Going forward, what should we do about this balloon? But more importantly, what will we do? Well, I think the first thing we need to do about it, I mean, they're going to go through all the diplomatic stuff and sent the complaint and so forth. But I think we need to be abundant on the clear and that is that these things are flying over our airspace and there's an opportunity to bring them down. We're going to do it. Now obviously we're not going to do it in a way that's going to fall on a major city and kill anyone and things of that nature. And it can be a little unpredictable. So it's not as easy as just going up there and knocking this thing down. I mean, you want to make sure that when it comes down, it doesn't come down on some city and kill a bunch of people. Or kill anybody. But at the same token, I think we have to make that pretty clear. But I think the most important thing we can do, look, there's those sensors and those things and they're gathering. But they can also get that information from satellite. They can get that information from all of the Huawei equipment and routers that are still installed across the United States. I mean, there's a million ways they can gather this information that they want. And they are doing it. Their espionage levels have grown. As much as anything else, this is just one more method that they use to collect intelligence on us. And so we have to be cognizant of it and protect ourselves against it. By the same token, we need to wake up. The most important thing we need to do now is wake up. And I think finally, for those who are still resistant to this notion, understand that China is a geopolitical competitor and adversary, the first we've had at the end of the Cold War. And they're actually a bigger and stronger adversary than the Soviet Union, which was a military superpower, but it was not industrial technological power. Economic power. "This thing is dragging sensors on it, which are not small. I mean, these are about the size of a bus. A couple of them usually end up from you see that in the pictures. And so that would fall to the ground and probably shatter into a million pieces, but there would be something to recover. There's no doubt about it. This is not complicated technology. And that's the one part of it. But it's ingenious in the sense that they can argue, well, that's just a balloon we put it up in the atmosphere. It's there to monitor. I mean, it seems so silly. It doesn't seem 21st century that they think they can get away with it with some level of deniability, including while we didn't mean for it to go over there, but it's a balloon. You know how balloons are? That's actually not accurate. These things are maneuverable to a certain degree. I mean, they're not as precise as a UAV, a drone or an airplane, but they are maneuverable. They can generally know where they're going to go. And this thing wasn't going over tourist destinations that went over the northwest and went over Montana where we have ICBM fields. It worked way across. So it has maneuverability and it's not the first time, by the way. I mean, we've seen these before. I just think yesterday, the acknowledgment of it is because they knew people were going to be seeing it. And there were going to be reports about it and you couldn't hide it. And I think it is disappointing that they chose not to bring it down when it was over a sparsely populated areas where they could have not just retrieved it, but sent a pretty strong message. And it's not coincidental that this is happening right before, I think he's just canceled it, but right before blinken, the Secretary of State was supposed to visit with in Beijing, they do these sorts of things to a humiliate the other side and project strength and send a message. It's not that we wouldn't be in this predicament if Trump were president, but what would he do today given the situation? You know what he'd do? He'd make a phone call. The balloon would be gone or it would be on the ground the same day. End of story. But Donald Trump isn't the president anymore. And now we have a president who seems completely befuddled by what to do about China. Incidentally, if you're keeping track, China is confirming it is their balloon. They are supposedly attributing this to a meteorological airship they use the word airship repeatedly in their statement and it was just a weather balloon that got blown off course. Jameel Jaffer: Unsure Why U.S. Hasn't Shot Down Chinese Balloon
"Here was Tucker last night with Jamil jaffer of the national security institute on Fox News. You know, presidents make a lot of complicated decisions. This doesn't seem complicated. There's a Chinese blue and why not shoot it down? What do you think is happening here? Yeah, it's a great question, Tucker. You know what's really interesting about this incident is that the Defense Department has made clear that this isn't the first time that we've seen Chinese spy balloons over U.S. territory in the past. What's interesting about this particular incident is the fact that we've called it out, we've made it public and that they actually froze the airspace over billings, Montana, and put planes up, thinking about taking the shot. Now, why they didn't take the shot, why they didn't take it down, hard to know, Tucker, but it's worth noting back in 2001, the Chinese forced down an American spy plane on hainan island, kidnapped U.S. airmen near women for a number of days and stole a bunch of surveillance assets off that plane. Now that was almost two decades ago. So you almost answered my question. Do you think if the American Pentagon floated a spy balloon over Chinese missile bases that chairman G would say, you know, I'm not really sure how to respond. Maybe we should just let it keep floating. Yeah, look, I think that's highly unlikely I mean, you saw Nancy Pelosi went to Taiwan just a few months back and Kevin McCarthy is going to Taiwan shortly and the Chinese were threatening to shoot down Nancy Pelosi's plane. So, you know, it's clear that the Chinese would take action, it's surprising that we're not. You know, you want to be as fair as you can in a situation like this because there's so much we don't know, but in your attempt to delete the conclusion these people are completely impotent, but could there be a good reason for not shooting it down? Well, you know, you couldn't say that they wanted to see where it's going to go, what it's trying to track. Is it looking at our ICBMs? Is it looking at something else? They may be collecting information off of it too. So there's a possibility there are good reasons for not shooting it down, but it is odd that you would announce it, make it clear that you've seen it and then not take action.

So today we heard from Mark Mobius founding partner at Mobius capital, he says that debt levels at a dining group scared his firm away from the company's stock sale before it was pulled yesterday. He spoke earlier with Bloomberg's Alex Steele and guy Johnson. India is going to still go from strength to strength. It's an incredible country, incredible projects, high growth, young population. So I think it's just one of the typical scandals that you get in capital markets and it's through that way. Mark, where's the risk to contagion that you see? I mean, we see banks saying we're not going to accept debt or stock as collateral from other investors. Like, is there a potential contagion effect? Well, of course, the banks are now going to be much more cautious as a result of this. And that will impact some of the higher highly indebted companies, but those companies that have strong balance sheets and low debt will do very well. We'll continue to any sort of like this in our own winners and business. And there will be winners. That's the show. Mark, how should the Modi government be reacting? Because that feels like it could become increasingly critical here. The Modi government is on the path to reform. And they are certainly going to look at this very, very carefully because they're quite concerned about the capital markets and the health of the capital markets. So in one sense, this is a very good situation where the government has not put on notice said, hey, you got to wake up to the situations and be careful about some of these companies that are ahead of the Internet. So in that sense, it's copy here. Some good things taking place at an early stage of the development of the market now. Yeah, you're looking right now at a Donnie making his case that there is enough capital in the company. Hey Mark, do you think that this, what would you be buying on any kind of dip? We see the MSCI, India index, really getting hit over the last two weeks. Where do you want to be buying? The software companies, companies that involve software, and more importantly, going forward India is going to become not only a software source, but a place where high-tech manufacturing takes place. So we're keeping an eye open the cupcakes are in vaccines. And healthcare. Because people have more money in their pockets, they're willing to spend more money on healthcare. Mark, emerging market equity emerging market debts has been on quite the test since the beginning of the year. Do I chase that rally? I would, because I think at the end of the day, the energy market looks better and better as we go forward. You can already see that the currency is our beginning to recover against the U.S. dollar and a number of areas. And that's good news. And in addition, the growth rate is even greater than it could in some of these countries. Of course, you can't use a broad brush. If I pick a cheese, but India for example is one great example Taiwan is doing well and a number of other markets are doing well. And of course I was Mark Mobius founding partner at Mobius capital. House speaker Kevin McCarthy kept his campaign promise today, he rallied his Republican conference to kick Ilhan Omar off of the foreign affairs committee. The vote was 218 to 211. Kevin McCarthy proved that he can keep his conference together. Unified on delivering a bit of political revenge. That was the issue of the day on the House floor, as House Republicans delivered on a campaign promise to rid the foreign affairs committee in the House of democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Now, this is largely due to some of her anti semitic comments of the past. Some of which she has apologized for. And unlike what McCarthy did with Adam Schiff and Eric swalwell by jettisoning them off the House intelligence committee, which he can do just by the power of the speakership when you are dealing with a standing committee of the House, that requires a full House vote if you are looking to oust a member from it. And that's what the vote on the House floor today was about. Congresswoman Omar took to the House floor to defend herself and express her clear opposition against this move by House Republicans. I am Muslim. I am an immigrant and interestingly from Africa. Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted? Is anyone surprised that I am somehow deemed unworthy to speak about American foreign policy or that they see me as a powerful voice that needs to be silenced? Frankly, it is expected. After the vote, Omar said that this was all about, quote, revenge. After House Democrats, and some Republicans who joined them, voted to strip members, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul gosar of their committee assignments back in 2021 for their inflammatory rhetoric and social media posts. In gosar's case, you may recall, he posted a meme that depicted life threatening imagery of his fellow member of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democrat from New York. She made sure to note that in her impassioned floor speech, railing against the move to kick Omar off the committee. Ilhan Omar Getting Booted From the Foreign Affairs Committee
"It looks like today Ilhan Omar is going to be kicked off the House foreign affairs committee and this also means that Ilhan Omar will no longer be the top Democrat on the subcommittee on Africa. This is something that she has taken great pride in. And so this is a kind of a blow to Ilhan Omar and she's been fighting hard against it now for a several days it looked like this might not happen. In other words, it looked like Kevin McCarthy had the votes to boot swalwell to boot Adam Schiff, but not to boot Ilhan Omar for a couple of reasons. One is that there is one Republican who thought that Elon Omar was doing a pretty good job on the committee. There was another Ken buck who's been on this podcast and Ken buck, I think, was taking the principled view that, hey, listen, just because the Democrats threw Republicans off their committees doesn't mean that we, the Republicans should throw the Democrats off their committees, Ken buck, I think, was joining the, let's call it we're better than they are school of politics. We should sort of show them by example that this is the right way to do things. And then Nancy mace, she's the one I think who was opposed to removing Ilhan Omar. But Kevin McCarthy basically did what good leaders do, which is he started pulling these people into a back room and having a little bit of a talk with them. And out of the three, he convinced two to swap their vote. So Ken buck now and a Victoria spartz have agreed to vote to remove Ilhan Omar, they insisted upon a provision that she gets a chance to quote appeal her removal, which is kind of a worthless thing to do because that appeal is not going to very likely succeed. And so Ilhan Omar is going to be out of there.

It would be a good thing to have a remove from the committee and we could talk about that you shouldn't have been there in the first place. And why is that, Jeff? She hates the condition of Israel. She has been articulating her hatred of Israel, everything it stands for. Before she took office. I think the real shame is that the members of the congressional progressive caucus, 15% of them are Jewish themselves, continue to keep elevating her and Rashida to lead to these high profile leadership positions, despite the fact that they're so anti Israel, it's a crazy phenomenon. So what sort of work are you guys doing on Capitol Hill to root out these people and to expose them? What we're doing and you're speaking to someone who is a conservative view, I almost ran for the Ted deutch seat and here in Florida. But what we're doing is getting an actual letter rating, no different than the NRA, holding fact based, a letter rating to each sitting Jewish politician on what they are or are not doing to really fight anti semitism. And I could give you a quick example. 6 months ago, Rashida Tlaib makes a big proclamation. I'm sure you remember. This says, hey, if you don't believe that, is the real as an apartheid state like hydro. Then you guys shouldn't really be a progressive. Nadler out of one side of his mouth goes on Twitter and says, doesn't this crazy? I don't agree with you. But silently, in the shadows, he and Jamie Raskin and Steve Cohen, Lois frankel, still voted for her to retain her vice chair of member services student and CPC. These people are scared of the squad. They don't want to be primary again. They don't want to be called out on social media.

We know what radical kooks like Ilhan Omar think about the police, Minneapolis, the city council after George Floyd, the Minneapolis city council voted as I recall unanimously to disband the police department. Get rid of them all together. Kumbaya, y'all, we're gonna have social workers with feathers to tickle the bad guys, I guess. We don't need cops. So now Ilhan Omar is faced with recognizing Minneapolis has a problem. It's called skyrocketing crime, murders. Violent crimes, robbery, carjackings. Well, what does a defund the police zealot like Ilhan Omar blame for the rising crime? What we must also recognize is that the reduction in policing currently in our city and the lawlessness that is happening is due to two things. One, the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office. And to provide the public safety or owed to the citizens they serve. All right, it's documented. But even before that, it was documented. I mean, the average police department is almost dysfunctional. Police department in our state and probably in the country. The second world is that there has to be accountability. And someone that is actually taking responsibility for what the police does and destination. And that doesn't exist. In this moment. I don't like ad hominem attacks, but there is a special kind of stupid behind that that attitude. You know how stupid you have to be, you're the one that shut the house on fire, lady, you wanted to disband the police department. You're not supporting the cops. Yeah, they're quitting. 'cause you don't, you're community doesn't support them. The city council isn't supporting police. You're surprised that they're quitting and mass, they're retiring, you're surprised to that. Oh, now you're blaming them for rising crime? Over to registered banshee writes this sure feels like Ilhan Omar shut the house on fire and is now blaming the firefighters for not being able to contain the blaze. You can not blame police. They're human beings. You're asking them to risk their lives for you. When you don't offer them the shred of support and your city council in Minneapolis, has actively tried to destroy the department. Oh, well, imagine that. Police officers aren't real enthusiastic about going to they're going to their jobs. Wow, what a shock, but she, this is the progressive agenda. You got to believe, maybe she's not as stupid as I think she is. Maybe this is exactly the goal. This is the endgame. So here's what she's doing. Now Ilhan Omar has the has the nerve to stand at a podium. And cite the high crime rates that she helped cause. While blaming the police, the police department that she wants to defund. Now that's rich. That's rich. What 806 5 5 Mike? I gotta get your reaction to this. I gotta get your reaction to John Oliver. And the crowd whooping and hollering and laughing and mocking police officers do know that the vaccination rate in New York City with the biggest police police department in the country. And incidentally, even that triggers the snowflakes on their yoga mats. They don't like police, they don't like a police presence. But then again, they don't know what to do when people are getting killed in cities like Minneapolis. St. Petersburg, Florida. Skyrocketing murder rate. This morning, big story and axios about crime rates. Catapulting in cities all over America. If you're not going to support the police, if you want to actively defund them, what do you think the end result is going to be? And guess what, Ilhan Omar, you don't get to cite the high crime rates when you help close it. There's a real real. Risk here. There's real damage being done. There are real people being hurt and killed by Democrat led cities and states and communities. Real people are being damaged. And we all know it. Majority the country also has been lied to and manipulated or a really long time about our activities our mission and what. We were actually accomplishing in afghanistan. I don't believe majority people knew how much money we spent on this war for the last twenty years a majority of the country did not get an adequate analysis of the afghan papers of the failures of the war. When you have a concentrated effort in trying to keep the public from fully understanding what was taking place for twenty years now have concentrated effort in trying to bring attention to what is happening or has happened for the last two weeks. It's really hard to not walk away. With an assessment that is lopsided that's deprived of reality. And you know. I mean you're a journalist and i believe you might disagree with me. But the job of journalists in the media is to report the facts in the news and not to create news and you choose which facts should be amplified over others and it's just it's really unfortunate that the concentration of every single person who has been put in front of the camera for the last week or so has been people went actually supported the end of this war people who have personal interest in the continuation of this war. People have not shared their anger and frustration over the women and girls that are being subjugated in so many other countries around the world. These are folks who are having selective outrage and they're selective outrage is in being all the pawn and called out and it's really bizarre to actually watch it's twilights..

Much of the media. Much of the world really has been has been focusing on the events in afghanistan. And you have to. I wanted to talk to you. About what the united states has been doing when it comes to the refugee situation and what it ought to be doing. And i wanted to start by asking you. What was the refugee process. Like for your family you know. The refugee process is one of the most misunderstood posses when it comes to our immigration system. You'll hear a lot of people speak about betting and trying to speak to refugees getting better than how important that is. They forget that it's a process that is it's wrong for my family was nearly two years The average housing vetting time is eighteen. Months and i believe that refugees are the most vetted immigrants that come to our shores here in the united states. There is a defense in the way that refugees are vetted than the way that asylum seekers at our borders are processed. Oftentimes the to get completed political. Pundits will try to confuse people without providing actual facts on the differences that exist in in these systems right now. It is really important for us to stay focused on the task at hand in mission that the administration is carrying out in afghanistan. I believe the president deserves credit or evacuating nearly sixty thousand people. In the last ten days you know the kind of international coalition that has been created evacuate. Everyone who's leading or their lives in afghanistan. it's just really remarkable kind of processed. We've been able to make in the last ten days and it's unfortunate that that's that hasn't really been the focus of what the media is reporting. I believe there's a lot of time for us to dissect and reexamine the failures of the last twenty years of our war in afghanistan one of the longest wars. We've been involved in the country but right now roy. I believe that there is an actual crisis and that crisis is being attended to by this administration in a remarkable way. At least that's my belief how. How involved have you been in that process. What's been your interaction with the effort to get refugees into the out of afghanistan and into the country. Since in the last ten eleven days we've been really intimately engaged with the administration as you know ryan as someone who is a former refugee myself. Who knows what it means to be in host-country and then to be resettled in another trying to walk people through just how chaotic that process is and the importance of trying to figure out ways to expedite. The regress ness of that work has been really important for my office min our office alone has received over five thousand requests from people trying to get their family and colleagues out of afghanistan in the past week. You know this is representing tens of thousands of individuals who are afraid for their lives. Many have applied for special immigrant. visas or refugee status. A lot of them are waiting to get their processing paperwork..

Congresswoman omar welcome to deconstructed dates back with un. So just to just a start on the drama on on capitol hill this this week the latest deal that leadership is cut with this. This crew of rebels got heimer. Screw of rebels is that there will be vote on september. Twenty seventh on the bipartisan infrastructure. Package you know part of got hammers effort to kind of strip progressives of leverage one. Do you think that you guys will be able to get the reconciliation package done by then to if not are progressive still willing to vote as a bloc to keep the two track strategy going in other words to vote down that bipartisan package. Until both already. I mean this. This deal release a sense of congress. It's not really binding and you know that fine line is still going to be fluid. I think it's going to be really important for us to move forward to do the work on the reconciliation package and depending on when that gets done. I believe we will ultimately have the opportunity to move the two together not lose that leverage and so is there a change in the progressive caucus willingness to to vote down the strategy for the progressive caucus has been to organize for these packages to move simultaneously to get there and that strategy still remains in place. Gotcha so how do you think that. The events of the last couple of days affect the overall trajectory of the package. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the United States, Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan and the Taliban. Now it's kind of interesting that, um That she would say that about the United States because as far as I'm concerned, this is new ground that's being broken by Ilhan Omar. Ilhan Omar isn't just going after the American flag, and Ilhan Omar is abandoning A certain analogy that the left has loved. Do you remember when George W. Bush was Hitler and then Dick Cheney was Hitler. And do you remember when Trump was Hitler? And Pence has said, you know Hitler was the go to for a long time.
