"Get all the credit and he deserves a lot of credit. They they have absolutely crushed it so far. They've got three top ten players lively the number two player in the class behind shading sharp. He is a terrific defender up a long seven. Beat block shots. He's got a new age. Big right great defensively and he can also stretch floor a little bit and scores. Not a great score yet. She put him on this other kid. Kyle philip hausky also like seven feet but like you're almost like a european big step out and shoot the hell out of it and they're both like they're gonna play off each other really well then they got a kid Whitehead whose top five ish tanisha anyway. John showers killing it. Now my big question to you is. How much do you think coach k. Can help and obviously do brand is the brand. But you know again. Cyrus doing the brunt of the work here. But when you still have k's the closer and you got that duke brand. Obviously it's going to go a long way right yeah. I think that the way they've gone about it where you have three guys. I mean. they've all played there. They they understand what it takes. I saw somebody tweeted the other day. We'll get the heaven office. We did that. That was me will not get the office. I think it was somebody else. I think it's certainly going to be a factor and you know that'll be a part of it. But i have to say i'm really impressed with john. I've known him for a long time. I've known since high school with us. Eleanor warriors and I put his high school college professionally So i've done them a long time and you know when you see him take the job. You're like man. There's just going to be so much pressure and so many things that are going on here where you're following. Alleged workout from ike davis indiana. How's that work out for a lot of other people who have had to be in that position and for john to go out and do this. You know it helps it. he's at. He's won a national championship as a player at duke. He's been part of the coaching staff and coach really good teams and you know he really knows the game. There's no doubt about that helps to rob. You know what helps to that. He's he's how how old are you. He's thirty three. I'm thirty two thirty three years old. Like you're telling me that doesn't help right now when you're recruiting against let's face it like fifty six assistance. Nolan's thirty two and carrawell is probably thirty six thirty seven. Maybe a little older. Yeah you have a you have a youth movement. And i look at that kind of the way that when tank because panel was recruiting myself. Scott martin each one. More john johnson. You look at that. And you're like this guy knows what i'm going through. That's or he's recruiting us in two thousand five. He played in nineteen ninety three. That's not that far removed. Especially when you're looking at a lot of other coaches that are fifty fifty five sixty years old. It's just different. It is a different kind of outlook. And you're going to give him a lot of credit though beaten out big dogs. He's they are. I mean you kind of wonder what it would the recruiting fall off a cliff and so far. Jonah's answer with a resounding now. Yeah i didn't think fall off a cliff. But i didn't think they get three top. Ten players out of the gates and beating kentucky for derek. Lively was absolutely huge. And i'm a huge nolan smith. Guy hugh i mean. I've said this for a couple of years like you know coaches..

"Athletic ability. I'm michael payment just stands out differently than the rest of the receivers that the colts have another followers. Mike davis he's down five spots to sixty first overall on underdog. I talked on the bus. Slash fades podcast. Why i'm out on my davis. Go back and check that out. If you haven't maybe. I caused this this decline out to me but man if my davis falls into the sixth round. I'd certainly be tempted. Note to the falcons did sign dante form in on monday. But i think he's just there to compete for depth role in kind of a preseason body. I don't think he should scare anyone who was previously in on mike. Ike davis. Another follower is kenny golladay. He's down about nine to ten spots across the across the industry for a couple of reasons. I a hamstring injury. That's expected to sideline him. Two to three weeks. And second i mean the reports from giants camper just laughable train wreck offense. Joe judge treating them like high schoolers dudes. Retiring and yeah. You should read silva's giants team by team preview and also if you listen to pod last week with thorn this offensive line situation really scares me for the giants mainly because daniel jones is so pressure sensitive so i get the golladay. Adp job he's just such a good player man. I want to be betting on talent especially at the wide receiver position. He just such a good. Td score in half pr formats. I'm still find being in line with. Adp as a dips here. Our last caller to mention his devante smith eagles rookie. Another injury related one as he hurt his knees expected to miss two to three weeks. It's not great for a rookie to miss camp. But a nine spot drop on underdog is a lot you know and the thing is for us. We were already behind market on devante smith and we're not dropping him for this injury you know. It sounds relatively minor. And actually we're still a little bit behind market on devante smith. I think the biggest concern. If you're executing devante smith fade. Is the eagles. Getting to shawn watson but with jalen hurts. I mean one thousand yard season for devante smith with jalen hurts. Starting all year would really really really surprise me are going to do it for this market. Update pod we are constantly working to keep our rankings content up to date to reflect all these news and edp changes as we get set for peak draft season. If you're not the draft yet check it out for producer. Luke for jerry. I am adam. Good luck everybody..

"Three. If you get eighty five catches for nine. Thirty six and four. Are you happy. Yeah which is what he did last year. Yes one hundred percent of the value that the values fine and then there's upset right there. There's the the second year leap potential. I just don't know what it means in an offense like that where you're going to run the ball five hundred times in fact i guess they were at four sixty four pace last year with injuries. You're gonna run the ball between four fifty and five hundred times. George kittles healthy depots healthy. I just don't know what that means. In terms of volume. that's all. Yeah so. I'm a little bit lower. I do think he's the best pick here though. I mean. I don't believe that. Mike davis is going to sustain value. All your long. I think russell wilson we know the story with him I probably get more arrests in a trade. So i'll keep you trade russ cut. Mike davis yep. That is how i see it. As well solely the the trade in the cut is based on value. You're gonna get more for russ than you will from ike davis if i was draft draft. Mike davis ahead of russell wilson But yeah i'm gonna. I'm gonna take the wide receiver in in this round. If you look at the six six round or the last five years us look at the bust rate. Sixty four percent bus strike for running backs seventy percent bus for quarterbacks drafted in the sixth round and fifty nine percent for wide receiver. So odds are on the wider odds. Apparently on busting that's true well six round for a reason. Yeah in that. I say about it in the time span when brain and i you was that guy i mean he was is about volume use averaging over eleven. Eleven target guarantee me that he gets it. He gets the targets. He's going to be amazing. He's a great player And he impressed me a ton on the field. Last year he played very very fast And seemed in tune with the offense is a rookie all right. I've got a fun one for his the pittsburgh trio I disagree. I have not fun. One flank you honestly. This is almost in the same denver boat the way that nobody's adp's high because everybody is confused about who to go with. Deontay johnson is going in the late fifth round. My goodness i love that Chase klay pools going in the late six around mid to late and jujubes going in the mid to late seventh round I'll i'll give you mine. And i'll get out of the way i'm gonna keep deontay I'm going to go ahead and trade klay poo and i'm gonna cut juju for fun just makes you happy it does oh brings me joy but no i think the auntie is the what i saw on the field last year mixed with the targets mixed with the age of big been how big big tends to trust certain players Even when there were all out on the field. I mean he trusted deontay the most so i believe that he has a guaranteed floored. That the other guys. Don't have yeah. I it's tough for me between deontay and chase klay pull. This is four p. pr amman deontay. Because i do think. He's going to be peppered with targets the valuable targets. I think that that the physical talent upside the league winning pick is more towards chased klay pool. We saw his nose for the end zone. We saw how they used. we used. They used him in the red zone. He has deep ability. He can take a a screen as well. I mean he was also highly targeted On his route he was targeted on twenty three percent of his routes which was fourteenth among all wide receivers. Number one in rookies even over. Justin jefferson So you talk a lot of these. I mean we've talked three. Keep trade cuts in a row with these second year wide. Receiver breakout potentials But i i do. Think i'm gonna end up going with the volume of the johns..

"Going anywhere would adult for you because you just don't want on pittsburgh anymore. Definitely all right. We know the cubs are already selling and are almost certain to sell. Brian and probably even kimbrel For some reason they hate bryant. I don't wanna get down that. I i think it's so insane that they treat him. The worst of their three superstars crazy But zach davies. Seems like he has to go. And i didn't include karl hendrix. I don't think they'll trade him but obviously if they did that would be a huge. Get for a team right. But davies is like baby hendricks and if you look at the trajectory of his season he started off horribly. But he's really smooth out. And ben more like the counties of pre twenty twenty which is a solid number four or five type sense about Since about mid may actually early may has three fifteen. Era and seventy four and a third innings over his last fourteen starts with forty five strikeouts but also thirty four walks so he he's been difficult to hit but he has given up a few walks. I gotta be honest. The team that traded him could be the one that just get them right back the padres. Well i mean he has a fourteen point five percent strike rate this year. It's so bad. And i can imagine. Like the dodgers getting john gray and then the pine and davies ike davis. That's the counterpunch. Oh now that one counterpunch two shares are. That'd be so bad now. I i'm not a fan honestly of what davies brings to the table Yeah it was really really amazing pitch and in times it can still be you know. We're talking forty four percents. oh something. that's great twenty twenty percent swing strike rate but isn't getting any strikes with five percent rate which has a twenty six percent See as w which isn't that grave third of a time And it's it's just it's just frustrating that he can't quite be baby hendricks he can't quite do that for thirty five year. A one forty seven by. He's been better as the season has progressed. But it's i mean. His fastball has a thirteen percent swing If you don't have eight ago like oh swing in what it generally does on the record. Like a fastball. nomads area. Twenty percent fine. The best fastballs to me are ones that like thirty percent. Plus says typically like a singer or so which he does that's when it starts on the plate and then goes off of eight and you know then. They are swinging grounding out. That's like sandy al-qatar sinker. Does that this is percents. Unheard of as horrendous strike. People just don't swing and that means that they swing at strikes which are more at eleven those are easier to hit so like it's. It's not a great combination especially when you have a change of that doesn't get called strikes either And it's out of the zone. I it's it's just not mixed that really works for me and i don't really see zach davies having a really having that second half that will turn heads. Yeah i think he has to go to a team where he's like their steaks guy really has to be death situation win for for kimbro and you're getting kimbrell and take the rest of this davies money for the rest of this. Ought to talk to you as the throw in davies. I'm so sorry honestly assessing the talent. It's nothing personal of forty five strikeouts to thirty four walks even putting up the three fifteen yard. This is made sabbath. This is his good period. And he's forty five to thirty four strikeout-to-walk in seventy four innings. That's really really tough zoo. That and three starts or something strikeout lies. He's done that in like a handful of starts. Now here's one that's wild good old widely man newly peralta. Don't listen. why would. I would bring him up because the tigers have traded. Because why would they keep him and somebody's gonna add him. Obviously he's not that good. He's one sixty four eight point ninety four with that's insane. He has a ninety percent left on base rate. A one eighty seven. The one good thing he is doing it is a fifty seven percent ground ball rate. You can at least say that. That's a positive. The defense is turning it into but the problem i have. Is that if you regret. Regresses back to what he normally is a five year. Oh it's four seventy eight sierra right now. So i twitch stream reminded me of a of a term. I have for this Which is not the end of an era or so. He's not he's absolutely under thirty. Innings of this production is just so like come on man. You know he's gone fall for it. Keep doing this. It's starting to get a job in fantasy too. And i think it's a big mistake. Oh my god. It's such a trap. And i can't imagine that any organization is like no. This is what we want. I would think anyone else like There's just no way that somebody thing i think he gets paired with a grossman or a scope or assist narrow. Okay that's fair if not not not as a standalone trade because nobody would give anything it would like it would be literally abaga bats like because there's just nothing value than anybody can give for him so i think it would have to be a situation where it's with. One of the other pieces at the tigers do have which they do have a few scope grossman hoses narrows a decent reliever. I think they could get something. I wish was healthy. They might see soto for their future. He's twenty six. So i think that they see him as part of their future. The they could trade away. Matt manning the katrina away casey mayes. Stop that they wanted to trade away matthew boy but he's hurt. I was gonna say boyne turnbull getting hurt now going on. Pj that's a disaster because they could've traded to one or both those guys and they could have gotten something massive. I think because of the buyer's market that it is. I think those guys would've brought back something substantial so now. I think peralta gets paired with a team that needs a scope or grossman and he's just like their sixth seventh. Like fillon guy. You're only using him to get to the finish line in the regular season innings wise. Like so maybe milwaukee would see him. They've had him before. Maybe they see some value in just eating some innings so they can give burns would driven peralta a little bit of a breather under not gonna convince anybody that he's any good any team. The brewers to me has to be because of brent suitor like brent suitor exists. There bread anderson exists there Okay wiley yeah. So i'm not gonna try to make a case that he's pretty good and then our last guy that have on the list goes back to minnesota one last time. They do have three potentials. He's the worst of the bunch but jay has obviously been good in the past and maybe a team that they can get something I don't know though he's a home. Run machine now. Going back three years he had a one nine back in nineteen and he somehow survived that for a sub five yard and a four ninety one. He was lucky to do that. Then it was at one five last year but he didn't walk anybody new didn't give any hits so he ended up having a three forty seven zero one zero five whip. It's back up to one point nine this year and a ten point nine hit rate. So he's been a disaster. Does any team see any value. Jay though as veteran lefty that they can bring it can innings. You know maybe maybe a couple of the guys that been talking about. I mean it's cool. The orioles already actually have this spenser. Watkins i i see like spenser. Watkins is to me happy to point. Now that's a great call. It blows my mind because he's just like four seamers and maybe some secondaries and it's like ninety miles per hour that's such a good call. It's so accurate yonhap yep but but yeah i mean. Jay is not going to be anyone that excites people could see the yankees getting them. Just because what does it take him in data get both those guys back just for debt guide. Maybe that could that could honestly work I'm just thinking like i. I would imagine the fan base wouldn't be happy if you'll for i understand and they they actually do listen to that Which i don't like. I don't like the yankees actually care about what the fans thing a. Yeah we got to do the right thing..

"Is nearly upon us details on our package of pricing for that will be on site very soon actually expect to have it up by the time. This podcast is released so stay tuned on twitter in the site for that. Let's get into it leoni. We're going to divide this into four kind of broader topics here. The first point to make should be the most obvious. I think to most people in managed leagues. We have access to waivers. And if you're listening to this podcast. I hope i assume that you're pretty hard core and you're gonna be grinding waivers pretty hard each week. It is a huge huge difference. So what's the first thing you think of yoni by having access to waivers that makes a difference from best ball obviously draft only know waivers. I think right off the bat. It changes how approach the running back position. A little bit running backs tend to be somewhat overvalued in general in all formats. But i think that's particularly the case in manage leagues versus best ball in basketball. It's a bit more important to get some floor out of your rb one to take one or two running backs early solidify that position because we don't have waivers as you mentioned to churn through a lot of Zero rv candidates. We call them or guys that might step into roles due to injury or just unexpected death charts. Just how those play out in the course of the season in a managed league between all the running backs i draft and cycle through waivers. I might have touched like twenty plus running backs on a roster whereas in basketball. I'm rarely ever getting to more than six. And i'm stuck with those six for the duration of the season. So if i really we get those and we know late round running backs they have upside because if they stop into volume that's all that matters but when they don't hit that upside the injury doesn't happen in front of him or the role doesn't work out that way. They have incredibly low floor. So there's a really big difference in waivers in that regard and also in the number of running backs you can roster right off the bat. Yeah so the first thing that. I think of when people wanna talk about running backs and manage lead. People underestimate the chaos. That is going to happen. In a season the running back position is not going to be a trade or waiver pickup at the wide receiver position. That's gonna bub calorie out of his role or going to bump some other around to round three round four five wide receiver out of his role. It's just not going to happen. We see all the time where round two three four running bags. So they signed some off the street and it affects his role massively. And and you lose the usage. So that's one thing i'm feeling. Massively underestimate the chaos. We know about the injury rates running back. Also one point. I would make about this though. Leoni is that you have to be willing to grind waivers right like if you're gonna take your rb strategy in managed if you're gonna knock pun but if you're gonna the emphasize running back position in management you got gotta be a virgin and be out there every tuesday night or wednesday night or whenever you're waivers run and be out there grinding. I'm personally not that up for that anymore. In this point of my life. I know most people listening to it just probably are them to reach out. Get some etr discord numbers to grind. Your waivers. I want to bring up some examples to though as far as the difference between leagues last year. Like are you played in a manage league. You got access to ike davis in waivers. Jd mckissick miles gaskin. James robinson like these guys in basketball leagues. These were zero. rv winners. They weren't even drafted in half of best ball league. So there really is a pretty gargantuan difference. Okay any other points on waivers before we move on in terms of differences one of thing i would point out. I don't know if you will. You agree with this but streaming at tight end in quarterback so we've talked a lot about quarterback and tight end and how we like having elite guy we like having a running and thrower type of guy. But if you don't in a single qb tintin league in a single qb twelve teaming a lot of streamers on waivers each week especially quarterback and like what's the difference between white i don't know. Is there a huge difference between dallas gutter and blake jar winner. Somebody that's on waivers in a single tight end league you know maybe there is. I don't know but either way like you have ability to stream which i think the ones he makes a big difference. Yeah and i think if we want to titus into the general rosser construction in how many dies your rostrennen. Each position based on the different formats plays into that. You know if you're doing an f. f. b. c. football guys championship for example. It's twenty rounds. Let's say it's eighteen without kicker in defense. So it's the same amount around is best ball. But you might legitimately take one quarterback one tight end because of what you're saying then that flows into your other decisions you know if you're doing zero. Rv then you can draft eight nine. Running backs may be just hope. Did you hit on one of them. Whereas in baseball you need to obviously draft more than one player at the onesie positions because you need those distributions to work out in your favor. You can't take the risk of taking zeros. On injury weeks you have to cover by week so that eighteen round draft. Now you're taking maybe five players at the ones position to quarterback tight anders. Something and that gives you thirteen other roster spots to work with in basketball verses in manage. You've got sixteen roster spots to go to running back receiver so there's a big difference dare and is starker difference than it might seem on its face yup for sure okay so waivers obviously when you have access to waiver deemphasizes running back at least a little bit and we also have access to streaming at the ones that we don't go elite their second thing wonder about his roster construction. We've talked a lot about russia construction in best ball. And how we like to do it. You guys watch any of the streams. There's so many videos on youtube. There's articles on the site. Leonian hersey and myself about rosser construction on basketball. I don't think people think as much about the rosser construction manage. They get to them. They take best player available. A ton what would you tell people about managed leagues and roster construction for his best ball. It's really important to know where you're strong and where you're weak and where you're weak you really want to stockpile stashes that could be big hits and really have breakout seasons and you talk about that running back position if you're drafting running backs early for doing zero or even just an anchor are. Were maybe drafted running back in the round. But you don't draft one again until the tenth round. It's much more important to take a running back stash. That has some upside like a daring In case derrick henry gets hurt or something versus a second tight end. That doesn't really move the needle that much. It might feel safe at the draft. Like oh i got my by. We covered got tons. I got two quarterbacks but it really doesn't do anything for you. There are some instances Two quarterbacks i'm taking justin fields or trey lance and i want a pair them with someone who has a good schedule out of the beginning of the season. If i'm taking your joe borough. I'm starting joe borough. Every single weakened manage the. I do not need a backup quarterback. I will get one when the time comes. You do not want a backup quarterback. You're not going to play wasting away a bench spot that even if it's a low probability hit on stash wide receiver stash running back. Those low probability hits add up. And it's important that you always have a live roster and give yourself as many as possible to just getting the lucky. I think people overestimate the trade margaret right. They're like well. I'll take to really good quarterbacks. And then when i only need one trade one. You don't realize that a your teammates. Joe nearly mates the trade with ub in a one in one qb league or one tight end starting with no premium. They're just not that value on the trade market right like people are trade one. It's just not gonna happen..

Michael Thomas made his 484th catch the most catches by any any NFL receiver in the first five seasons. Pretty historic there, Michael Thomas, and he missed six games this year. Also pray Hendrickson. Matt Matt Ryan was dropped three times, sacked three times, Trey Hendricks and with his second sack of the game, he now has 9.5 sacks on the season and Troy Hendricks and in a contract year he's gonna make some money. You know, And you know our our demeanor that our character, you know the things we bring the team or, you know, potato as far as like, You know how hard you know we way set example. This leaders and You know how we go out to just be ourselves and we let guys know that you could open up and be yourself. You don't have to, You know strict. You know you You could have fun and work also, you know, But the main thing is you coming that you're going to work to get the job done. But you can also have fun while doing. You know, this is a you know, it's the game We loved as kids and you know, like they say. We want to grow me and playing the keys game. You know in that That's kind of how we got to see it. So you know, it's a lot of guys who have, you know, big kid mentalities and, uh Whatever in, so, you know, we wanted to bring down and want to execute. Have fun and be a big kid. Sometimes, you know, jump around, you know, do whatever you want to long as we got there. If you make plays, and you know we do what it takes for a team to win. I like it. Preston Smith joining us like last year, you're pretty far removed. But if I weren't asking about last year, the team that's such a great season going all the way to the NC NFC championship game. First things did not go the way you wanted to win that game. How much did that motivate you coming into this season? Ah lot because that feeling we had at the end of the game. Uh, After losing in and Sam friend and getting on that plane, whatever, four or five hour flight back to Green Bay. Whatever. It was a great feeling. You know that feeling that someone we love we could have done done better, Or we left some plays on the field or just you know, no. One. We made some of the mistakes that if we we fix those mistakes we could have been playing in the Super Bowl. Who knows how the outcome would have been You know, but I feel like you know that That's the sooner we had, you know, keeping our people our heads and know that it's not what we want to feel again. So kind of motivation. This you know, like how close we got. You know, in our first year, especially, you know my first year with a new team, how close we got and how far we could have gone presently, Just a lot of motivation with that. Weston Smith of the seven and two Packers as they get rid of big on the six and three Colts today, Lucas Oil Stadium and checking in is Andrew Smith. Andrew Good afternoon. Good afternoon, rich. How are you doing? Just great looking for this one. You know, we have a lot of close games going, but this one is the jewel of the late guns today. Absolutely. And with a number of teams, there's nine teams and the A F C right now, with six or more wins and only seven playoff spots available, so this is obviously a big game for the cold says they're six and three. Hide for the division lead right now in the A F. C South, the Packers seven and two leading the NFC North, and this game has a lot of really intriguing storylines, and obviously one of those is the match up between veteran quarterbacks Philip Rivers and Aaron Rodgers. You've got a couple of playoff teams or teams. They're currently in playoff position. But the match up I'm really looking forward to seeing is that matchup between Rogers and Davante Adams for Green Bay against the Indianapolis Colts defense, led by the forest partner up front and A ball hawking secondary. That right now has 11 interceptions that second in the league against Aaron Rodgers, who doesn't throw interceptions. He has just three as opposed to 26 touchdown passes on the year..

"Sweet home Chicago three went to 91 7200. Carol, I apologize for the long wait. But when the king calls when King John calls you gotta you know, he's the big He's a big hammer here. You gotta take John Williams call 3129 s O. So Carol has Unbelievable Family challenge said to a family member. Oh, stay here. I'm trying to be a nice a nice person. And then that person completely railroads, her And she's got major problems now render the person a friend of the purse. Hart. You're right. But it all goes back to the family member would have never happened without the family member betraying her. Okay, So how to solve Carol's challenge here? You're the attorney. What happens? How can what should she do? That doesn't cost her because now like you attorneys work for $3.50 an hour rights more like $350 an hour. I mean, you guys I'm on it. I'm on it right? How How can she economically overcome a challenge? So first of all, the police always give the answer. And it's their correct answer. No matter how scary the story is, it's called a civil matter. And in your case, the reason it was a civil matter on my cop friends, you know, know that it's fine. They tell me these stories all the time. Because they, in fact are known by your family. That's why they can't do the trespassing. If a guy comes in from a park and you're in there you're you're living room a stranger than they immediately take him away because they're trespassing. In this case, you actually have to go to the DuPage County Circuit Court. In fact, if you call me Monday, I have a colleague who gets my referrals. You're gonna have to name that individual and any and all family members and unknown members, and it could take a few months. But you will. Eventually the sheriff of DuPage will escort them out. They'll be not even let him take their stuff. They'll put a ribbon on the house. Then let him come back at an agreed time when you're there to let them get their stuff, But they will throw them out without their stuff. How does Carol and other listeners like Carol protect her property while this scumbag Is violence soon as possible. It's called a possession to tell you too. I am 75 years old. Yeah, but you don't have to do you don't have to go to court. I'm just telling you, it's called a possession on Lee action because there's no rent. So it's a possession only action. It's an expedited proceeding, but it still could drag out just with Colbert and other things. But there is Judd. There are judges and the DuPage County that will do this. I'll give you my number, and then I'll give you my colleague on Monday. My number is 630 Flow down. Carol, You're ready to take his number yet. Go ahead, 285. 5300. And when you call in if I'm gonna closing or something, just say you're from the show where you had a relative friend in your house. Secondly, after you get the legal bill from my Kyle Ike Davis, right, You need to modify your state plan to that person. You should not reward them with your money when you pass away by how they're treating you. And we will talk about how we're going to do that. Also. All right, Carol, hang tight. Happy how they say we're going to send you? Ah, Mr Floor cleaning product 31 to 91 7200, Chris and Holland. How are you? I am great. Thank you. Thanks for holding on. You've got hickory floor question. What's going on with that? I do I have the floor installed. It's been 10 years. It's Hickory is three quarters inspect or inches wide, and it creates and cracks that makes so much noise. When we had it installed. We noticed it, of course, and the Contractor said. Well, when you run your humidifier If we had it in stone January, it'll get better, and it just just never gotten better. It's worse. I don't know if we have to have it if it wasn't installed, right, or we have it taken up and redone. You don't know what to do. So, Chris, One of the reasons that we really prefer using that, Mr Floor Service, I don't know. Have you heard him on this radio? Yeah, but she's from Holland, Michigan now. Yeah, but he could help. You know, I don't think so. All right, that that's perfect because right now, the reason that we use him is because he actually gets the flooring before they install it to the same humidity. They have awaited And a girl. You know where he is right? We did that. We brought it in. I think that our house for about a week before it was salt might be the sub flooring, though. Well, it is boring. It's the sub flooring is it's the fastener. At this point, you wouldn't know so I would. I would highly recommend that you call Mr Floor and just walk him through in Hill asked the right questions. I would think we will. Well, here's what we're gonna do. Chris, could you know? Because she had an on hold. I want to see pictures of that floor because that floor's gotta be gorgeous. Okay? Absolutely. So what I want you do it The second I want to make it clear even if your if your installer is saying that you have to run the humidifier So obviously wouldn't that is the problem is the moisture content of the floor then, right? No, it could be your expansion contraction for the different climates. But the other thing too is you know they put down Couldn't when I've seen guys put down red rosin paper. Um, then that helps stop the squeaking, Right. There's a lot of times if you take that hickory floor and you could have before and go right onto the sub floor. You basically have to woods there are basically meshing together. And that's why they used that red rosin paper. Good point coming. You see what I'm saying? So have Mr floor walk through those questions. Here's how we're going to do if you could set Are you on the way home or near home? Can you send us pictures? No. No, But I contend pictures. All right, if today before once because you want to say I'm pretty. The floor. I want to check the floors up here. You know what they should be for $10 a square foot? Yeah, that's nice. Very nice Here. Was that also a prefinished floor, or did you have it as a raw floor and then they finished it. He finished? Okay. What? That Something was sometimes what happens when they do a raw floor Because then they stand it. And they basically put like a sealer in there to cover all the little crack someone and then they go over with a water based, uh, Well, uh, your things you see water base. You're a thing that seeps down into the cracks and helps hold the floor. But when you have a pre finished floor, you're basically you're just, you know, group, your tongue and groove and you're walking away, but they should have put like a red rosin paper, especially on a prefinished floor. Here's what we're gonna do. Gotta hit a brake care and you've been on hold for so long. You've been awesome. We're going to send you some Mr Floor cleaning product to take care of that squeaky hickory floor and the mega pro sweatshirt because you are, sweetheart, and but if you could send us pictures Of the floor will send it to Mr Floor. Igor. Igor will call you and he will have a solution to you. It probably won't come to Holland, Michigan, cause that's way up there in 96. Yeah, it's all the way up. There is still hope. You know, I know, but but he could give you advice on how to, you know, fix that challenge. Okay, Chris. How good you are Awesome. And thanks for holding on for so long. 312981 72 100. "WE'VE GOT THE EAGLES GOING OUT WEST to face the forty niners we have actually Eagle Eagles going to hotel California. Oh, very nice like that. It's a lovely place. All right. So any start sanders starts. The. Wide Receivers go on the I R but they can never leave. I love that Song God is just a masterpiece. okay, Start Sanders starter. That's right. Yes Yes San. Francisco, they ever allowed the second fewest past plays of twenty plus yards. No pass plays a forty plus yards. They've been good at that Carson Wentz third in the NFL in yards. So this'll be a tough challenge for him. I would think even with the first time that we ever see five defender covering one person. Well how much do you like how crazy would start Greg Ward over maclaurin? I mean, these are the type of things that you know when works out your genius and when it doesn't like what the hell was I thinking. You know you could do it the same thing with Renfro. It makes more sense when you look at it from what the targets share is going to be, what the UPS are and how the scenario is going to play itself out. But I mean, Carson Wentz can also die in this game based on how many times he's going to get hit. Like I don't know what to make of the niners. They've faced the jets, all those injuries during the game, and then the giants and their banged up. But this is also banged up offense of lying against a quarterback that just seems like a shell of himself. So it's a bad bad scenario for the eagles. And then for the niners. Should Just McKinnon, right and kittle. Wilson's in the flex conversation you're in. And you is in the. What the Hell Flex conversation not what the Hell but what the Hell Yeah I mean, the Eagle's actually pretty you guys have a good defense so far this year I think there are third in the NFL in yards per play on defense they have not had the toughest schedule so far. That's why the Washington football team in week one and then the bengals and we know the bengals having exactly been great offensively. So they've they've faced two of the worst offensive lines and football, and now they're about to take on one of the best offensive lines football they did really well, against Aj Green they did well against the rams wide receivers pretty well, they did well against maclaurin. So so far they've got a pretty solid defense kills a must start San Francisco is top four I I don't want to shortchange game, but I think we've covered so much I guess. DFS. Tournament play sleeper as John Hightower. Practicing who I think. He didn't know on the only eagles receiver who practice Burnett didn't practice either only eagles wide receiver who practice. Roman. Roster is Greg Ward. What about Mike Quick? Note, but a lot of people are asking about a butler. and. You know what to do with him because you know last year we saw that they were you know running a lot of three tight and options. I, forget the third guy was that they were using at the end of the season. It was a converted wide receiver, but they're desperate. They're absolutely desperate for help. So it wouldn't be a surprise I. Don't know who's on their practice squad who were they may elevate, but they're they're stuck there really stucco artists here. All right. Last game is Arizona at Carolina. Kyla Murray as a top eight quarterback. He's always going to be their most weeks thought every week Kenyan drake or Mike Davis guys Mike Davis with sixteen catches in his last two games although it's not sustainable another great stat from Jacob Gibbs which last night he's been targeted like forty eight percent of his routes I don't remember exactly what it was Mike Davis was like almost fifty percent of his routes last year Austin led the NFL somewhere around twenty five percent of his routes he was targeted. So don't expect those catches same amount. From Davis and whereas Kenyan Drake. Has. What two catches to catches one get five this season. So Drake or Mike Davis. Drake Non Davis NPR I have drake ahead of Davis by the back to back in PR. So I'll I'll go with Drake I. Don't buy into this panthers run defense being any better just because they didn't allow multiple touchdowns running backs last week and only allowed one. But I think this is a good matchup for drake I'm going to be honest with you. I'm very confused right now I'm not sure if we cover this game yesterday or not I, don't think we did but for some reason I'm just I think we talked about. It I think we spoke about Dj more so much Tuesday night on twitch that it's messy end Thursday night that it's messing with my head. All right. So What do you do if the Andre? Hopkins doesn't play do you start any? You feel better from Kenyan drake. Oh i. think it depends on Christian. Kirk Kirk plays and Hopkins doesn't. Then he becomes somebody that's in a number three receiver conversation in the Renfrew Award Beasley all the islands you know he becomes he becomes. Mike Davis. Twentieth in Non Top fifteen NPR top ten for Dave for Jamie and heath NPR so hard to get away from Ike. Davis. Dj Robbie Anderson, who do you like better? More..

I mean it's great when he puts on the impressions and the voices because it's entertaining but he's just got it. It sounds so effortless. You know yeah and you know what else is effortless US taking a small break to pay a couple bills with some sponsors. Europe? And we are back. So. We just hop out of nineteen fifty five we're going to flash forward to nine, hundred, fifty seven. When Sammy Davis got involved with Kim Novak. There's lot of that goes on here. Lots of go on. So we're in the fall of nineteen, fifty, seven and Kim Novak has just finished Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Hang on. Okay. So we're GONNA flush wards nineteen fifty seven. Sammy was involved with actress, Kim Novak. And this was in the fall of nineteen, fifty seven and Kim had just finished filming Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. which is a great film. Film. When she met up with friends edge. Chicago's then. Hottest. NIGHTCLUB SHAPE HELI Sounds expensive our. Perry. Tryst. Peres. Whatever. She sat at a table near the stage in Sammy Davis singing on that stage and focuses attention on her. When the show was over, he confided to his friends Janet gently and Tony Curtis that he wished to meet Novak just sprinkling in some name dropping their. Courtesy Davis that he would take care of it, telling him to attend after party that Curtis was hosting at his house. Curtis then approached her and invited her over. I would've killed to be just in the fifty Senator Tony. Curtis' your wing man that's something real situation. Yeah. WHO's your wingmen? Doug Doug's wing man can I can. I can. I. Can't say anything look look where it got me Yeah. You don't regret that every day. Moving on. People think we're cute I mean most people wrong. But most people say cute the illusion continues at the Party Davison. No backward inseparable spending the entire evening together salaciousness. It was electric however, they weren't the only ones to notice this intense connection. It's believed the fellow guest at. Curtis's party called a popular gossip column to inform them of no back and Davis's chemistry. It's pretty much like now minus the twitter instagram it's the same stuff oh. Yeah. It was less accessible back then but it was actually worse I. Think. Because this could actually get you killed as we will soon see, won't we or blacklisted or Black Ball? There were definitely really bad repercussions for some of this stuff for the next day in a small section of Gaza call and appeared which top female Cayenne is seriously dating. What big name Entertainer St. The news spreads gossip usually does and the night that Davis, in Novak were together, the party would be the last time that is by the public. Worried about the impact of the rumor David Novak to apologize for any stress or professional retaliation. Their brief meeting caller Novak didn't mind at all. In fact, Davis's Autobiography Sammy. She respond by saying the studio doesn't own me and she asked him over for dinner. The small bit of gossip really struck a chord with a notoriously loathed Columbia pictures studio boss Harry. Con Con who felt like he invested enormous time and money into Novak's career completely took control over her or at least he tried to. And I'm sort of the way the studio system was wasn't it? Like these places owned you if you sign that contract Oh yeah they would they had fixers which was good if you messed up but then they also arranged marriages and hand you know some of them had mob ties excetera and so. Yeah I mean it was a dirty business back then it might be dirty now I don't know I'm not. I'm not important enough to know that but you know back then it was. A great podcast. If you're interested called, you must remember this and it's by a woman named Cream Longworth who is married to Ryan Johnson I only say that because not that her marriage defines her but she does have a little bit of an inside track I feel on the history of what she also did a book called Hollywood frame by frame, which was an incredible book. But she delves into this and there's another podcast called the dark side of which actually highlights Judy Garland's. Youth. So if you're really interested in kind of like that salacious part of Hollywood, there are some great podcasts out there that you can check out and you should. So at the time, Novak was actually Hollywood's number one draw at the box office she was one of the hottest female actresses thanks to con-. Since discovering her and creating image became no for he regarded Novak as his property which saw. When he caught wind of Novak in Davis Fling, he forbade her from seeing him with no compromise by all accounts anyone working in Hollywood feared con in new the damage that he was actually capable of causing, which is so scary. Not only had con admired. Italy's Prime Minister Benito Mussolini, which is probably not the person you WANNA look up to. Again. But he was reportedly known to have close ties with the Chicago mob Johnny Selley to be specific resell. He's connected. You encounter I believe I think we get to that he was an influential model mobster orchestrated the mobs dominion within Hollywood and Las Vegas supposedly even purchasing matching Ruby friendship rings for him in Con-. Yeah and although he demanded that Novak in his relationship, she didn't even arranged bodyguards wait in front of home to ensure that he wouldn't show up awhile. Yeah. So I mean. This guy's got mobbed is he's got money. He's got Hollywood. He's Columbia was huge back. Then think about this way that he held over her how scary is that? Basically like you can't love this person they're controlled every aspect of your life basically yeah. That's I hate that I hate I would hate that thought through the remainder of nineteen, fifty, seven, the couple continue to hide. Their relationship. Author Silver Junior was one of Davis's best friends and he was the only person actually see the relationship between Novak and Davis and so con- actually called the racketeer John Celine who was told to inform Davis that he must stop seeing Novak to try to scare Davis reselling head him kidnapped for a few hours kidnapped for a few hours just like a test run ike. Davis was written with the loss of the other I or broken leg if he didn't marry a black woman within two days. Davis out the protection of the Chicago. Monster San the Chicago Mobster Sanjin Khanna who said he could protect him in Chicago and Los, Vegas but not in California. So that answers your question Kirk those weren't technically connected. In silver's autobiography, Sammy, Davis, junior and me and my shadow. He recalls that many times he drove Davidson Novak to a private Malibu Beach House, which he rented just to the couple could have some privacy. According to sober, he would for Davis to the Beach House and Davis would cover himself a blankets or hide on the floor of the car of aiding any possibility of being exposed later that year in December, Novak prudish cargo to be with her family for the Holidays Davis stayed in. "Yes the first round will be Thursday next week and it's going to have a different feel to it. Obviously with the pandemic shutting everything down one aspect that won't change is that the commission will announce the first round picks I think Roger. Goodell is a giant syncophantic Puppet Clown But he still is the commissioner and Peter King on NBC. Let it be known that Goodell will announce the first round picks from his basement and Goodell will have an income in home Camera and He lives in Bronxville New York. Now we always talk about basement bloggers and living on your mom's couch and smoking a Bong and all that now you can have a joke at that if you want. Here's the thing what. Roger Goodell calls his basement is I'm sure is not what you were an I call our basement. It's sort of like in England. I always called her backyard the garden and it's usually like a upside-down barbecue and some junk in about five square feet of space. It's not exactly garden but anyway turning it around Not really a basement but king also reported that during each pick. A virtual montage of fifteen fans of the team on the clock will be the backdrop behind Goodell. And those fans reacting to the commissioner and whoever the team picks. Now that's creative. I like that somebody at the offices in Manhattan. Try to spice things up. That's a good deal and I don't know if it's GONNA be actual video fans or if it's just going to be you know Avatars or you know animated but it's an interesting twist as we know The thing I want to know is going to be on. Espn NFL network. They say it's a co-production so I guess we're GonNa see the same thing on both networks before of course you don't get the same thing and ESPN. I think does better coverage because they have mel kiper and Todd mcshay and all that then and a as I showed highlights But a lot of times I switch back and forth. I think rich. Eisen is just the cure fronts omnia boring but the NFL network doesn't get hung up on a lot of the interviews too much. I think as much as ESPN because a lot of times they'll be interviewing somebody and the other picks almost going on at least when you get into the later rounds. I guess you won't be able to switch back and forth so some other tidbits of the draft revealed by King is that the draftees of course will be in their home and they have a limit of six people in picture who's to know what's behind the Dak Prescott Party going six people in the picture and cameras more about that. In a second the cameras will be sent to the homes of fifty eight prospects. Here's the thing where's my camera? We didn't send you one but my agent says I'm going to be first or second round. Pick Yeah you might. WanNa talk to your agent about that so. I'm not getting a camera but then again I'm sure one of the cameras is going to go to somebody who's going to sit and sit. Aaron Rodgers Brady Quinn. Gino Smith. Gino Smith left fired his agent and then came back to the green room next day. You said it was going to be a first round pick. Well you're fired. I actually liked that not that I like getting fired but a lot of times they blow smoke up their behinds. I remember the kid says name. Ike Davis Gray or something. He was the CAL quarterback when I went down and I saw calendar is on a state at ten P. He was the quarterback of the time. The giants made them I think a third round pick and he was gonNA backup ally and that plan out the window but he did a tour and he came to my other job at the time and the agent was saying we all know he's going to be a first round pick and I'm like why are you telling him that. I this isn't even what I do. Twenty four seven and I know for fact. Look at the quarterbacks in the draft look at the needs there's no way has just now people probably say that about Kenny. O'brien at Davis to but there was just no way and so- Gina Smith was told the same thing. You're the top quarterback in the draft and I think. Ej Manuel was the only quarterback taken in the first round. That year you talk about us will ever be a worse round of quarterbacks in the history of the draft if you told me. Is it possible to only have one quarterback in the first round I would have said no? That's not possible. Not that drafts are fraught and rife with great talent at the QB position but people will stress. There's always a guy like Jordan love. He might suck. He's a Utah State guy but the talent is there. The body frame is there. Someone will take a chance. You know. It's just the Josh Rosen. Josh someone's going to take a chance. E. J. Manual the only first round quarterback and he stunk he stunk. So it's That was an anomaly. I don't know maybe we'll get a draft where there is none who's to say but Six people and the picture to the fifty eight prospects who do get a camera the time needed to select picks will remain the same next Thursday night in primetime ten minutes around one the Cincinnati bengals are now on the clock they pass Nella. Take Judge Joe Borough seven minutes which is too long in rounds two and three and then five minutes four through seven. It is an improvement. Though rounds one round one used to be fifteen minutes around to Tan. Harasser all five. But there's going to be an interesting way for the teams to make Hicks throughout these three days. Each team has a designated drafter. That drafter will be logged on to the League's Microsoft teams private and encrypted draft channel. And they'll make the pick through that portal but remember it was John Harbaugh head coach of the Ravens. Who said I don't like this? Someone's going to get into our database well for the draft anyway. I'm sure there are hackers right now in Bosnia. Laughing and spitting out there Borscht. And they're pickled herring thinking about who? Microsoft teams encrypted draft channel. So who knows? And why would you do it anyway? I guess he would do it. If I was a prankster and a lawless cad I would go in and I would have the Denver Broncos now select Dick Hurts. You know I would do that. Because I hate the broncos and everybody get a laughing you go Bob Ui and blame it on Howard Stern but for the backup plan. If this doesn't work there is a special phone number to the NFL's Vice President of player personnel. And yes they have a vice president of player personnel. But it's not. We think that we don't have those guys who evaluate and draft anyway. His name. Is Ken Fiore. And so you're on the website. You're on the website up it's been hacked from Russia and everybody's drafting Phil mccracken. You can call Ken `Fiori on a line. And then there is a muted conference call where the club can UN mute their line and then announce their selection that way so there's three ways they've got plan B. and Plan C. You'll have the backup number. You'll have the conference call which be going on. And you'll have the designated drafter your DVD on the website so some NFL teams have planned to work out the remote draft but the League has a good plan and how these the selections will work and It's going to be interesting like we watched. Snl accept this will be live. That's an all that whole webcam thing was not live. I'm rick it'll come on back on. Sports violence are you paying too much for Term Life Insurance? Delays, or the, the comedian responded with this statement, and I'm quoting here, who would have ever thought that Dennis Rodman would be strengthening relations with North Korea, and Scotty, no tip, and Pippen would be the crazy ones suing little girls. I've never heard of as a comedian comedian good good in the update. Pippen also said the renter's allowed of dog and cat to urinate throughout the home causing permanent stains in unsanitary conditions, and they allegedly stolen knife set. That's not all. Okay. So we had our legal. Correspondent Felix Vega go through this very important lawsuit because why not what exactly did you find? Okay. This was interesting. They didn't know where this was go. First of all, what does it mean to add the five year old to the loss? They're not suing the five year old they're suing is a shame that would have made it better. Probably because I know that's the narrative you wanted out totally what I wanted. So the, the way the lawsuit was filed at separated into several different counts, kind of like a criminal complaint would be. But actually when I was digging through this today. The part the big part of the lawsuit the initial one was actually dismissed for not being specific enough. So that's why I had to go back and refile all this. And add in more details about what exactly crayons the markers. Not only that, I mean, they basically just tore this place apart. Really? Yes. And if you're I lived in Fort Lauderdale, so I knew kind of where the area wasn't. It's like the rich part of town where they have all these inlets and islands where these are very, exclusive very Tony homes. You can pull up your yacht on the back to back door. Kennel Ike Davis island this try like times thirty. Okay. Yeah. It's like Morgan with love it. Yeah. So it's like a very exclusive. And so this house, did he was actually trying to sell the house. And so this woman Glaser and her husband, their their, their house got damaged by hurricane Irma. Sorry. And like you said they put in an insurance claim what their insurance company to get to do the damn the rap repairs on their, their house. In the meantime, they wanted to find someplace else to list. Thirty thousand dollar a month. Yes. And it's three times the size of their home, which is also huge in Fort Lauderdale different. So they live in a big house, but not this big, and somebody must be doing really well between the two of them because she's a comedian nobody's ever heard. She's also a lawyer before that comes on the lawsuit or husbands. And a comedian husbands, the architect what he I, I mean, let's be honest. Sounds like the husband probably does I think they were on their meat because this is you think they were just living yet, maybe on our means in, so basically, it when they went to rent this house, they use their insurance companies basically, there were housing finder, when people are looking for a place to rent with their houses getting repair. Yeah. And they set their sights on Scottie, Pippen's house. That is what Scottie Pippen saying. So not only was it three thousand dollars a month in order to get into the house, after they negotiated everything data having to pay for the first three months rent, which was ninety thousand dollars upfront. Yes. Lamb security, posts fifty thousand dollars. I never even exactly, especially comedian nobody's ever heard of according to the lawsuit, and what's Scottie Pippen and saying that she redirected the money that she was getting paid to fix her hells to pay for the rental. Their house wasn't getting fixed this whole time because they didn't have the money to do it. Repealing rent the house and to fix the repairs which is kind of like insurance fraud. Okay. A fifty thousand dollar security deposit. Yes. And they had to have a million dollars worth of rent a Brennan renter's insurance, which they didn't. They never got. Of course not. So I feel a lot better about my renting since I thought I was getting ripped off, but not so much. Well. Yeah. And the way that they lay this whole news media, just like this place into just like a disgusting nest of everything. I mean you had he not keeping the property clean and sanitary. She decided she wanted to have her own cleaning staff. Come in, when he already had a fulltime cleaning staff so he had a cleanings. Yes. Built into the rent. No. She brought her own along. Okay. And so that was another part of the agreement that she had a creeper cleaning staff. Keep the house up because in, I know none of us have these words in our Lisa's. Okay. This is how you had to keep the house in, quote, top show condition top show condition because they were showing the house, not in top show conditioners, also, yet he keeps your your quote. Property and content. Shelby kept in pristine condition and not subject to reasonable wear and tear. It makes sense. I mean. And it was five year old. The cats it was on the market for think. It was ten million dollars with lasting price. But this is what he says that these people did it's not just the crayons on the walls, and they were focused Marcus. Yeah. It's great. And that's count. Three of the today, pictures is like an exhibit of all. Eventually but I mean they didn't even keep like the plumbing was all messed up. They wouldn't keep anything cleaning in working order. They weren't even according to him, not properly using the heat and air conditioning of the playas, and even the elevators there's elevator a reasonable manner. The end not only to the pets were peeing everywhere. Family members. Of this winter accused of paying everywhere, inside and outside. Why? Yeah. The Beverly hillbillies rolling into some rich neighborhood. And just trash on either is the house was infected with insects. Whereas mold all over the wanna live in that why would you pay thirty thousand a month up ninety thousand of front of two thousand dollars security deposit to live in these kinds of commission on. That's, that's not how they found the house. That's what they did to it. No, I'm saying why wouldn't you want to? The house in your living space to those kinds of conditions. They are still living in that yet disgusting filth. Wind paying thirty dollars. That doesn't make any sense, and they stole not only the cuisinart set, they were stealing, utensils door handles and cabinet. Door handles that was handle damage the front gate, which apparently is upset about because that's mentioned like three times in the lawsuit. They damaged his home entertainment center. Once again, the whole urinating pets, and people think, comes up, it was on the furniture, linens beds floors everywhere. Oh, my destroy countless cabinets enjoys. This is what it was like a laundry list kind of bad. I feel like at first we were like, wow. What a jerk through in five year old, right? Kind of saw. Minute. Yeah. And, and I feel bad for the five year. I mean, what kind of life is that for the five year old when you're living in filth bright and they cause by one hundred and nine thousand dollars. But they also they were paying the utilities, they weren't paying didn't keep up with the monthly payments. They weren't even paying I don't understand what it is. They were trying to pull here. Like, first of all, why in the world, would you rent thirty thousand dollars a month place? Essentially, they became squatters is right? And they were trying to, like, basically, there's this whole thing in the law called like adverse possession, wherever you take over a house. You can possibly take it over because you've been there, so long. But usually, that's where no one knows you're there just kind of, like, well, you know, it's my now these people were just like they wouldn't even let him in or that's cleaning staff, in so it's crazy. Yeah, that's nuts. I should've tried save gets on the show. I actually did it his niece when I was up in Chicago. Impressive. When you told us that I took her to Taylor swift. I just figured, I'd I never met Scotty Pippin, though, that whole time that we never crossed pads but I could ever lease rate. Well, I don't know if I would have gotten a response. Let's just leave it at that coming up next. We'll talk about the president's trip to the u k including a fashion. Critique of what he and the first lady were wearing we've got that for you in a moment on PM Tampa Bay..

"Starts is almost their way of trying to make sure to ground doesn't fall into that same pattern of a year ago where he relies. Is on one guy and Mickey four that had nothing to do with that. It was just coincidence. And so I do think it's going to settle in here where more often than not since Wilson Ramos is the starting catcher on his team. Wilson Ramos is going to be the kind of catches ground like give to whoever wants, honestly. But you know, what here's an listen Tomas Nido is actually a well regarded defensive catcher in the organizations mind, but you saw zero at the plate with Tomas Nido pitch. Maybe the best game of his career. I really do think that the graph is the type of guy. Yeah. He likes throwing them as Rocco, but he is good enough that it really shouldn't matter if he's on who's back there, Steve gal. I just feel like of all the people. You don't want to mess around with like, you know, just give to who wants. Anyway. This was interesting. See we had Hankas area big time Mets fan big time. You know scarred. Mets fan we're talking about Pete Alonzo, and we're talking about like when will you see enough to believe like believe for real, you know, because we lived through Ike Davis. That's fan Sar. So he hits two more home runs yesterday. Bond was the kind of garbage time. But what do you want to see from Alonzo where you would give Mets fans like the thumbs up the green light to be like, all right? This guy's for real thing. I always look for with any of these big prospects the same as you know, when Conforto came up and looked like he was unstoppable.

"We can sports. You got baseball on the way we got a championship game Monday after the final four game on Saturday. And I really tell everyone should get. If you have a chance initiates the Minnesota, but a final four once in your life is is a great day. It's an amazing day to be in that arena the intensity in the arena before the two games. They got four groups of fans in the building. It's usually now one of these. Sixty thousand seat buildings. It's backed in the coaches there in those the Bleacher seats opposite the court. That's we always got them. And they're only there on. On Saturday, the coaches Oklahoma after Saturday's games because it's like a convention that we can they all leave and they get rid of their tickets for Monday, give their assistance and assistance, either goal or sell them, or whatever they do with them. But. No one. I mean, a ticket change in the building between Saturday and Monday is enormous because teams that lose they get rid of their tickets. I mean fans flock from the winning team. The losing teams of the second games building as fast as they can to get tickets. That's how it always works and they exchange an incredible amount of tickets, and the coaches as I said, every coaches in the building on Saturday almost every coach. Couple Friday, but very few. They're all there on Saturday. And then they go home Saturday night. And that's it. The morning and they never stay for Monday night. Monday nights, a completely different crowd and Saturdays in event it really is in those buildings but about an hour before the games in that building. When all four teams are still thinking of going to championship and buildings rocking. It's an amazing. It really is. It's one it's one of the great scenes in sports at that moment, then it becomes a couple of games. But I mean, but if I it is an incredible event. It really is. Jason Albany was up Jason. Hey, Mike, how you doing? You mentioned before when you're talking about the contracts said Severino you mentioned Nolan Adriano from Colorado. I didn't mention him though. I mentioned the pictures because they were in kind of the same positions and their pitches. That's why I mentioned that. I didn't mention Ariana's contract. So the pitchers got the a better deal that no they really didn't. They got four years five years forty million fifty million dollars a daily they both signed for less than what the market would be. But they took out there. They got they got they got security and they wiped out there. Patrician years is what they did. Kristen roanoke. What's up, Chris? I talked with a MAC. Mapping alonzo. I've been much too here and there, and I know what you're talking about Wheeler earlier, I think he'll be fine. I'm looking back to rocky start starting the intricate three. I think he's gonna be a wildcard they wanna make any noise. You know? And then with my wife. Thirty starts last year. That was that was key. He has to learn to get through the one inning the one in where it's first and second no out. That's the inning. He's gotta learn to get through. He's got he's got to learn to beat that inning. If he can do that. He can he can get where he wants to go. I think that's the I really think that's the critical part, and you have to learn, you know, that's something Pettit learned as an example, you know, as a left the was going to allow guys on base, buddy. Was he gonna get out of the jam when it was first and second. No, our was he gonna make the pitch that God. Yeah. To that inning rather than give up the five runs of the four runs. That's really that. That's the difference. Lonzo. He's like, I know Tammi ridiculous spraying they are. Smith has been amazing. I get Smith all the credit in the world to you gotta pull for them. You really ask you. I guess my concern is because I don't wanna take another Ike Davis. Situation. But like one of the other I like when you when you decide like, all, right? I'm speaking with this guy giving trade the other one prospect or something like that. Listen, I don't think they expected this from Smith. If he's gonna hit like this. And he's going to have this amazing spring. He's earned this, right? He's earned the right to have this season or to go play on this team and do this. So you gotta give him credit. You really do you know? No one was expecting this. Absolutely. Nobody the guys had a had a tremendous Frank. It really has. And he said, you know, what I took it as a challenge he says I had a bad year. I barely last year. I didn't blame anybody. And he told me about all the different things he did. And what he knows sleep apnea and all that and his new diet all the different things. So give him credit. He really did a heck of a job. Mike and Rockland. What's up? Mike, mike. What's up? I can't believe I'm going to say this actually gonna defend a will wilpon with the ground thing. No one knows what number is being offered by. It's really. Let you give him side years thirty million four years twenty billion next year. You gotta give the met some kind of discount. Over on forty. It's not right. And I just think it actually get real guy. He's got I think he's got to go seventeen this year, which is on twenty next year, which is reasonable. And then as you start free agency thirty thirty thirty and I'm giving you four years at one hundred and ten million dollars. I think that's a very reasonable deal. I think he's asking for a lot more than I don't know. I don't know. Where they are. I really don't I don't know not gonna try and tell you I know where they are in the because I don't I haven't heard anything nor have I asked. I mean, we didn't go looking for it. But I figured we'll find out soon enough. Again, you got you got. Accompany that the general manager those very well. The guys who negotiated the deal guys. He knows very very well. So the whole bottom line is he knows every move. They're gonna make he knows exactly how they're going to produce things. And even if he's staying out of it, which I believe he is I think he did take himself out of this mix. Then he's still knows every move that that that side's gonna make Iran their organization that organization, Rick and Morristown what's up. Rick. Hey, mike. Finalized for major league baseball. I would say I mean, I'm not gonna give you the exact hour because I don't know what our it is. But they gotta be in probably the morning of the of the first game. I'm sure they have to be finalized. I'm sure they will be finalized Wednesday afternoon. But I'm sure they have to be finalized some time. Whatever the time limit would be the day of the game for the day of the first game. Probably sometime in the morning of stuff Thursday. Okay. I was just curious. I know that Frazier's Scott has taken a back seat to all this. Yeah. Yeah. He listened. He he's he listen. We know he's going to the minor leagues. He needs to play. You know? And I'm sure you know, what how upset Wade was. But you know, what here's my problem with weight, and he can't. So I don't complain way. I really don't Joe in China. What's up Joe? Mike. Thanks. I wonder if you could just elaborate on that ways comments seem kind of aggressive. A young guy did that have any ramifications for him the Yanks. I think it goes for one reason. Wade first of all is a pretty good fielder from what we've seen. He's fast. He doesn't hit. So the bottom line is. I don't care where you're playing him. He's still is a liability. What is back is? He's never shown you that. He's not a liability with his back. So listen, he's upset they went outside the organization, but the bottom line is he's never shown us anything with the anyway. Adema Staten Island was about him. Hey, what's up? Mike. What's up? Mike real quick on the Dominic. Dominic. Smith Eurolines thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they don't bring up Alonzo right away, don't they get an extra year with two weeks. So and the thing about that is. Now, they said Brody said he wasn't going to do that. It will be the best twenty-five. But here's the thing with Smith rake in the way, he is. He's gonna play some right now if you're going to see Strasbourg insures a twice in the first two weeks of the season. That's four games, you will probably gonna sit Alonzo. Anyway, if you're gonna sit Alonzo those games, why not just pick up the year on the two weeks right on top of that. I mean, if you're gonna give Smith. Smith a chance to rake at the start of the year. Now, here's your question. What happens if Smith knocks the cover off the ball? I guess he just happy with that. And you move on you know, right Alonzo. Lonzo down there..

Lackluster, those of you just joining us across our network. We've got just a minute twenty four to go here in Hartford. The Florida state is putting the finishing touches on a terrific ballgame as they had taken it to Murray state all night long. They've got an eighty eight to sixty. Leader Murray state scored twenty eight points, but his team was never really in this game Ike Davis throw line right now for Murray state. This is a free throw that on the bench. Right. It's out over set. Davis is good. And this this would have been a game. If it was just Florida state's bench against Murray state, Florida state's been scored forty five points that is amazing. They went very deep on the bench early in this game. But the ball movement other moving these are the guys who play against us. Yes. Do the scout team stuff all the time. Steal at the other end you root for these guys. If you're a starter, a guy who gets a lot of minutes because you know, most of their practices are standing on the side clapping their hands and cheering for you spin it around the arc again. Travis tries to three it's no good map. All will over the sideline. Seventeen seconds left to go in the ball game. This was going to be in the books and Florida state is going to be advancing in the west region. What may be a date with the number one overall seed in the west? Zag long three Puerto third for Jaylen Johnson. Right for the rebound. Yahtzee kept it alive. Davis outside wanted three. He can't get back to the rest of the night for bury St. they shoot less than thirty three percent at Florida state for the ACC flex its muscle. Was about more than one player. It was about a team effort of the Seminoles added tonight. They knock off bury St. Peters sixty two to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the west region. Impressive from start to finish for Florida state. They had a game plan. It wasn't just a guard one guy. They did it on a string meeting together. Defensively. Now, they got hot. And they started hot from three that helped them build the lead. And I believe also gave them the confidence to defend together at the other end. It was their defense. Attorney Murray stayed off like a spigot, but it also was their offense. They continue to hit the boards hard all night long. Second chance opportunities were plentiful. And it was a fine performance. All the way around at home again for the Seminoles of Florida state. A big ninety two sixty two win a trip to the Sweet Sixteen Seminoles of Florida state, one guy was absolutely big. And getting this done came off the bench, and I need immediately. Injected some offense into this team. We're joined now by the I'd do cabin gala. Congratulations on a five performance. It seemed like you were feeling it personally as soon as you got it to the ball game hot hand almost immediately. Yeah. You know, what happened recently with film or teammate really inspired a very motivated not to let him down and want to bring a lot of energy and bring some positive. Tom. So our credit to him, and I'm very thankful guys. Scored forty seven points off the bench. What it seemed like when you made when you made threes to start the game it almost gave you guys even more confidence on the defensive end than you come in. It's almost put Murray stayed away in the first ten minutes of this team. Was that part of what you guys wanted to do. Yeah. Definitely will be down shots opened the floor for driving lanes or guards. A great job getting inside out threes. We knock them down for the floor for us us. We're able to get post touches in the defense collapse down in opened the door for everybody. So I'm very happy with how the coaches say executing any, well, I gotta say I want to give you a hard time. Everyone thinks of you as a player, but she plays some deed, you block the shot down here on their big. Boy, I was teammates with your uncle decay. Listen, just in the interview against so impressive. Just because he gives all the credit to where he supposed to obviously, he's a tremendous player do both ends of the floor. But the just the attention to detail he has not for on the floor just only on the floor but off the floor as well. Such an impressive impressive young man for Leonard Hamilton. "So dramatic. I know right. Yeah. Good. Yeah. But I think feel good definitive on our baseball thing. If you're Tony Clark just kind of say guys. This is how much money was paid in salaries if we do the floor and ceiling thing, I can add by my numbers. It's almost four hundred million dollars more with. Let me ask you this question because you can't argue with the numbers, and I'm not doing that. My thing is who's running this whole deal. Right. But you're gonna find that out, you know, who's bringing his name because it's the obvious name. And there's no one like him. I obviously who's the Marvin Miller who's who's the person that is not only in control, but can get these different factions to come together and present a United front because that is why the the major league Baseball Players Association has been so successful since the strike. What was that in ninety four is that they have presented a cohesive unit and a United front. They don't seem to have that now. And I don't know if they're going to have it when they open this this collective bargaining agreement situation up again here in a couple of years. So is it Tony Clark touch truly run in a thing. Or is it someone behind the scenes is that a group of? Very powerful players. No names and guys who have made big money because baseball has no salary cap or those guys the ones in charge are their agents. The ones who are truly making the moves behind the scenes or maybe on the scene. I'm just curious if Tony Clark is that guy to hurt all these cats to get them together to go into battle against an ownership group that you know, maybe or maybe not we'll have their ducks in a row, and and try to, you know, get all the things they want in the midst of the negotiations, except though you know, what the the most nefarious thing involved. I think that nobody gets too. And we've alluded to it at various times on our show is that we think it's the players that should be advocating for a capital floor. You give up a cap at two ten to twenty team, but you get a floor of one twenty or thirty, and that's then similar to the NBA model and the NFL and hockey, and and the players have now an injection of four hundred million dollars of Sal. Required to be paid. So these teams can't do the Tampa Bay as White Sox things. Now payrolls at fifty sixty seventy million bucks. What if it's the five six seven top owners that say now we love the crappy system because it totally benefits the Red Sox. The dodgers the Yankees the cubs. The giants and the cardinals and we don't give a crap about these other twenty team. But let me add to that. Not just those five or half dozen big money. Powerful teams. There's some owners who don't want to spend money either. And they're fine with the system the way it is as after the five or six big money teams who are currently find lesser teams are happy just being doorstop Marlins are happy doing what they're doing the royals. They got their World Series. So they got there. You know, every twenty five thirty year where his World Series. So we call baby get back to pocketing money because we're not spending any money. There are other teams the reds the pirates. I mean, their usual suspects. There are other teams who are happy with the system and complicit in making sure that the system stays the same. So that that's my whole point is at all everything you're saying makes sense because math makes sense when it's done correctly. But it's not just math. It's about you still dealing with human beings and people who have their own things they want to accomplish their their own needs. They have to or want to satisfy, and you know, you factor in greed or just trying to screw the other guy. So I like I said to me. We're talking about pace of play and changes that hopefully will make the game better. And and stop the bleeding when it comes to baseball and his popularity and hopefully grow baseball's popularity, but ultimately the players the owners, I just to me they just seem to be destined for showdown, you know, in in in terms of how they're going to split up money. And I think you're going to have warring factions within the players association and the ownership cabal where you're going to have some teams want to change it some players that want to change it some players that don't want to change it. And maybe some players that some teams that just really don't care they'll go along to get along with whoever's is going to supposedly win the fight. Yeah. I think that, you know, this this southbound, and it's not really their fault. But when when you discuss some of the stuff that we are just discussing here, the vast majority of players that I've ever interacted with. They don't care. They know they don't understand, rob. What's not caring? Yeah. They I mean, that's total Stockholm syndrome were there. No cap. No cap. No cap no cap, but but you're the ninth reliever on a team. Wouldn't you want your salary to go from six hundred grand to three million? But no cap. No cabinet. Look dude the salary caps. Never gonna involve you. It's it's I'm forcing Tampa Bay to pay you more money. When that's been beat into your head by popular players who have benefited from the no cap system. Right. You just kinda go along with the party line. And you don't want to go against the union. You don't want to go against your bullets. Yeah. That's just. And that's just the they have no understanding of their labor situation is I have no understanding of quantum physics, which makes me Bob, not pay attention to quantum physics. Do you understand my point? Yeah. And I'll I'll cod with the guy. We just had on the show a couple of weeks ago, a guy and Andrea Gonzala who didn't really understand the stock market got an e trade account became incredibly well versed in investments to the point where now he's involved in venture capital things like that. He did the exact same thing with the players situation in the NBA. And if you talk to Chris Paul and Andre Gonzala people like that they are very well versed in the dynamics of the collective bargaining agreement. And that's why just little things this stupid thing. They used to have that players had to opt in for the matching IRA contributions from NBA teams. Right. It's free money that for every dollar play would put away the NBA teams after put in three dollars to match. Okay. Guys, generous. Yeah. And so it's free money. It is free money. Just you just check a box. I opt in it's free money. The warriors have to give three dollars for every dollar those guys put in an IRA except players wouldn't check the box because they would never understand it. So what an odd Audrain Chris Paul do. Now, you have to check the box to opt out. Okay. You're automatically enrolled in the free matching program either union. You there were some NBA owners Ike Davis. Oh, they made that change. That's exactly what the case bet you I can name three of them right out the rip started with James Dolan. But but it just showed there's a lot of union members. And these guys are elite athletes, I'm not protect for saying that they need to be financial geniuses. But it's just they're going along to get along without really standing to really understand what's going on with your union. And these are not. I mean, the the NBA is four hundred and fifty guys, but you get to football and in baseball, you know, it's twenty five guys per team with thirty teams. This is not a huge union or a huge amount. Like, you said Marvin Miller was a very dynamic person and what he didn't want. He wanted free agency the right to move around. And he didn't want it. You know, a ceiling on what an individual player could make. So those are two very easy things to understand. I think the thing the players have a right to to really fight over. Why why? A get to control you for six years that doesn't make any sense like, you know, when you're in your fourth or fifth or sixth year. I mean, you see what Aaron judge is going to make this year six hundred grant because he's not a free agent yet. You know, they can just renew him under team control. Like, that's not six years is that's crazy. You guys ever even have a six year career that's.
"ike davis" Discussed on WGN Radio
"Two along the lakefront, I'm Bob Kessler in the WGN newsroom. Ready to join the conversation live whenever a story changes on Chicago's very own seven twenty WGN. Bottoms off his data. Turn on the radio. Got it. To get an extra extra wall. Awesome. How great is that? I'm ready. You deserve it. I was ready for it. I feel like that too. I feel like there's no reason why shouldn't have a show all the time. Perfect. So I want to ask you first since we have this long show. What should we do with our extra half an hour? Yeah. Exactly. We should talk about startups. We shouldn't talk about Dana, Dane stuff. Yeah. You wanna talk about him on the road stuff? We can we can. I mean, I can go on the road for whatever reason never said is the, Dan he's probably listening. I always want to say Dane cook. Which I haven't listened to Dan cook since I was in high school. So like, the idea that that is the case is pretty inexplicable to be honest. But regardless we do have a good show Meyer Gupta's here. He is the former VP of growth for Spotify is now the CMO freshly super excited to learn more about that in the journey and just all kinds of stuff. He's been on the start of seeing forever. He's a fan of technology, which is always great for me to hear Ben around the Technion the tech scene in Chicago forever. Not to age him. Just just saying forever in general. We've got to companies calling in who you can invest in live. I republic. Discover Republic dot CO slash register. And you can go ahead and do that rob Smith the CEO of the fluid project is coming in. This was really interesting to me because you know, like, there's not often innovation in the retail space. That is I guess let's put it this way. It's always is it online or offline is not like an actual like change of change of the guard. I've never heard of this in my life. And what I thought it was like, I guess I just want to learn more. It is a. Non gender clothing company. So there's no, it's not male or female. It's just like, which if you asked my wife, she would say that I already shop there because all of my clothing is just like the most nondescript things on the planet, but is interesting and fascinating to learn what what drove to get into that. And then also. You know, how that works? Like does that make a bigger marketplaces that make a smaller marketplace? How does that work either way? Let's assume that it's a good pitch. And you want to invest in it you surely can also on the show in the back half of this long show. We have is a Derrick Walker the CEO of up Sander. This one's interesting to me because it's so huge. It's drones. He believes you're going to have a drone on every rooftop and that every person will have a drone there will be automated. So it's like I want to pick up, you know, medicine from Walgreens and the drone just goes to Walgreens and picks it up or, you know, my food is done like 'cause we always talk about the Amazon, you know, stuff and how they're going to deliver everything by drones. And it never dawned on me. I guess I understand why. Because like some people can't afford a drone who pays for it does Amazon pay for do you pay for it? I don't I don't know that I guess we'll ask Derek. But it never dawned on me that that the script could be flipped and that you could. Actually, put your your your drone you own. And you send it out to get your stuff rather than Amazon do it. I don't know. And I know that Amazon is like just one of a million examples and some sure he'll say, yeah. Amazon has all of their own delivery. But like you are going to have random things around your neighborhood that you still want to get and your drone goes and gets which is interesting right now, it's all FAA, certified pilots who are flying them. I guess he's considering that there's going to be a world word is completely automated. I can't argue with that point. So should be very interesting. And then I don't know I think Davis my my growth manager entrepreneur and resident is call him is gonna come in. And join us for those pitches. I feel like I'm not aging myself because I obviously I spent every day in this world of like tech and start startup, but like I find it. Interesting to always get a younger person's perspective because maybe they're just less jaded. Maybe that's it. I feel like you can say something to me, and I've heard enough pitches that at some point I am like, yeah. No chance because I just in my head. I'm thinking like I've seen this already a thousand times it never worked a personal Ike Davis. Who may not have heard as many of these pitches might think what can be done, you just didn't think of it the right way. And you get a whole new perspective. Plus, you know, he's a young guy on their team. So if I can get him to put an extra hours on the weekend. You know, I'm not going to say no to that. So with that said, I'm going to take a quick break. This is. Is so cool by the way to be able to to like slowly go into a break. And I'm Scott. It's it's like I'm so used to being in a hurry. I need to slow down. That's a good thing. We're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna come back with mayor, and we were going to learn all about his journey to Spotify. And now his journey over to freshly, and what that has in store for the rest of us. I am Scott catoon. You're listening to WGN radio AM, seven twenty Steve Bertrand,.
