"Format Abbas officers involved the arrest of a black man who died in police custody have been fired. All three officers that were seen on that video have now been charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder, the fourth officer who had previously been charged with third degree murder. He's charge has now been elevated to second degree murder. Right now I think the nation needs law and order because you have a bad group of people out there and they're using. George Floyd and they're using a lot of other people to try and do some bad things and what we do. We have a totally under control with the National Guard. We took care of it now. It's very big.

"Welcome to. Episode Two forty seven. Where later on we'll talk about famous musicians, homes and To, do the story I saw one country post a whole story about Taylor swift multiple million dollar homes. They kind of walked through all of our houses. She has right now. which is pretty crazy, I think it's thirty million dollars in total. So that's what Eddie and I talked about in a little bit, so you WanNa, hang out for that, but the whole site is. Call. One Country Dot Com and they say. Does she live in New, York or Los Angeles Nashville or Rhode Island, but the answers all of them. And they go through her Nashville place when she first started to make money by the two million dollar Nashville place where she knocked out the wall and I know where this place is. It's right next to music. Do you know what I don't know well I don't know if they're that much, but do you know where Taylor owns? No I should say. Right near the radio station. In Rhode Island. She has a twelve thousand square foot beach mansion fayed seventeen point seven five million dollars for it. So she has all summer parties. Someone broke into and it. Is it I think so well looks like a fortress. But there is a lot of grass surrounding. It's you could get to like in new. York, she bought these two apartments, and not to wall out, and the modest third and knocked another wallowed. So! They. Have that dinner for twenty five million dollar. I guess it's more than thirty dollars. Because in two thousand fifteen purchase the estate of Movie Mogul Samuel Goldwyn for twenty five million. So they gives her to oems in. Nashville wants to parents an awesome apartment in New York a beach house in Rhode Island Mansion in California. Yeah, that's way more than thirty million dollars. Agatha her. so we talked about a lot of people that are dead and alive and their homes and let's. ETC So. Glad you guys are checking it out on. "i abbas" Discussed on Dental Leaders Podcast

"Illness. I haven't personally. I know there's been some dentists in the Profession Code. I don't know if that could be traced to dental was tries to holiday resort Outbreak so I have to question. Is the people that we already had him placed a full. Kobe nineteen happened was not adequate. Mean Leith. You failed a similar situation that actually team. I look at different countries right Germany. Lucas Sweden's leading Sweden never stopped. I look even Italy and Spain now with Stanton Zoom Dentistry. I'm looking at Australia. Which resumed industry Hong Kong etc right so for some reason needs country. We don't tend to look up a country so much we tend to think we're completely different. Science isn't make sense right so I think we need to take a leaf from other people's books and really trying to think about what we can do to prevent risk or trying to reduce the risk is input dentistry for the risks. We own profession. Which has written patient is a risk of transmission of a number of diseases. Something we used to but also of course infection. Dentistry should be amongst the best because not many professions day that carry out. Eventually we do. I mean I don't know about you guys but when you go to gp some minor procedures etc. They haven't got harm the them because infection facilities that we do not even close so for me. I think you need to make sure we got agreed. So and yet we should stop resuming. Dentistry it's routine venturi complete. I'm not sure about. I'm undecided. That goes back to begin to see you. The reason that people voting no competency video is because I think there's a lack of communication. That's the only reason that we all act against. Its Nieto's is that she'd leave. Maybe they don't have time but there's a lack of communication. The communication is going very down is wishy washy and it's infrequent and that's you. Yeah I mean. I think the tone didn't help that. Headmistress tone didn't help but because I'm CD's one CD watching this Lucas copy. Greek at least says because he represents the APD. I don't have too much because I'm maybe a little bit more news and say but don't think she's representing everyone and that's not hearing the studio. I think hasn't done a fantastic job and it might be reasons but if she came in communicates the reasons. Why won't why it's been infrequent contact accenture? I think he might accept up. Yeah I agree. I agree if it has thaw. She won't come out and said. Please give us some time to get this ride. We know that you concerned. Please on the sun working tirelessly behind the scenes. But we've got your back and we'll update you as soon as we can in the same way that the chief medical officer came out I think the response would have been very different but I think a lot of people felt very almost attacked in the first woman and I think the the the difference between the first and second webinars in the attitude and the Fissile Town. It was chalk and cheese. I think someone must have played it back to the office IDEO You need to eat off. The gasoline obey no go easy on the profession because we will look for leadership and guidance and the first woman. I didn't feel like like we got to. I mean I think this is a difficult very difficult job. She has and she's in a position where she says Rodney Go about to work. And then something happens. She is then liable if something happens to a patient or member of staff over densest and that is a very difficult position to ban on fully. Accept THE Position and it's one the whilst it's a gray area to get the answer on to dentists patients and staff. We still need some clarity on some guidance of a pathway of where this is going because we had one web to the end of March the second one was two weeks later and since then been very very limited information. That's coming out and You got densities guessing about what PPA to buy you got people settled PPA as in without any clear guidelines. And it's just for me becoming a little bit false because at what point is GonNa say enough is enough. We need a decision to be made about how we're GONNA take this forward. An the BI. Apd OF OF BATS on the door of the BEDIA. They've been very welcome in and working together with them. We would together with the AD options left. We'VE APPROACHED The D. O. The office of the CEO. Without a reply and also made a something. Like I said some wife before as if you wearing a haven and you turn it off you hit what's going on. I'm not just to me. It's happening the they just WanNa turn on and when they wanna hear what they wanna hit when they don't WanNa hit on a it they just flick off and go you know we got other stuff to do and I understand. She came out and said that she's been she made redeployed. I just think if if that's what the government thinks of the profession the we need at the lead of our profession can be redeployed. I mean what does that say about any just dentistry. We all smooth as dense. Spiny it is it is it is. It is small but you Tom. He can't allow a medical condition. Something can call so much. Pain to a patient has just been. Let go by the wayside. People taking their own see thousand people begging dentists to show them how to do this on. Lend them instruments that you will also fall for autism They'll be dense will catch on Amazon. Would you say to Let's say a group of dentists. Let's say the six hundred whatever it was that Angora this for the sake of argument IF THEY LISTEN WE'RE GONNA follow Germany or France island. Sap Amore opening and we have our own. 4 Steps To Brand Yourself As A Leader, And The 5 Top Leadership Skills

"You're listening to fill the Bella and this is flash by TDB. Today's question we're going to answer. Comes from to kneel at News Ltd Brisbane thank you. Question is all around heavy brain yourself as a leader About personal leadership identity in branding. Thanks a Christian in them. You know second branding before but let's tackle this from a lot more direct results penalty ship. Let's start with what actual. What do we mean what is meant by Pestle leadership entity to me? It's a little bit unique combination of qualities and talents that making unique and different as an individual in order to enhance leadership that to me is what personal leadership identity. It's it's what are the unique qualities and talents that you have so unique qualities and talents that distinctive as an individual that tomase what a personal ladyship identities because his different types of ladyship so I did I wanted to demystify what the whole personal leadership identity mates and again say to him because it's the foundation of the rest of the fleshpots. He's at ease the combination of qualities and talents. That make you. Unique and distinctive as individuals keywords qualities and talents unique distinctive an individual and that enhances your leadership style Let me flow on that Intensive trainings ahead. You brains yourself as a leader. Well I've covered this before but I'll explore again in. The context of Of ANONYMITY ENDED UP PERSONAL LEADERSHIP. And that is the next full step. Step one explore your voice. Make sure that you have that. Inner Voice your great communicator. At whether it's one on one situations whether it's stages to a lot of people and that's a key point because a lot of people in leadership think that it's just good one on one discussions one on one communication skills all. I think it's just able to communicate too many people at once to me. Great latest what they really have that When the building a personal brand is they're able to school. The voice spoke one on one. But in a situation where it's one too many so that's one connecting east obscure yourself and then upscale your team that's what Personal you know the branding yourself as a leader is all about. That's a great strategy to have strategy number two is all about upstream yourself but also being able to US upskill attained. Because you don't want to build too much of a gap between self team so you not only going to be able to obscure be and be pestle development but you need to be a good damn good Developing your team as well number three is all about focusing on your expertise different expectations when you building attain leadership meetings that conducts. Think of yourself. You know when you're branding yourself as a leader. You'll that conduct a standing in front of the ban and you have a certain expertise to spotlight. Highlight what your expertise. But then also know what the expectation of the taints and by highlighting expertise of yourself in the team. You will ensure that you are branding. you're branding the team and again that makes you a leader in the number four. They're important is to always ask for feedback member. It was in the people business. Where the whistling product or service and it's all about connecting person to a product or service in different than when leading teams. So when you're working on the strategy to build your existing brand you have to have a brand is known to ask for feedback. Re Temperate. In order is to adopt strategies. That will help you amplify your personal brain. One explore your boys number two obscure yourself and your team number three highlight put a spotlight on your expertise and those of your teams and number four. Ask for feedback now in. What is a good personal leadership? Model well Ship is the ability to develop and utilize positive leadership traits. So you WanNa really highlight your leadership traits and then you want to guide the direction of your loss instead of letting others guard you now. That's what leadership is all about. It's the guy again coming back to the conductor. Great leaders others conductors in every conductor. You think if you research conductors of bans conduct on orchestra and you watch the videos youtube some you see that all of them have a very unique and distinctive different style. All mariah to get the band the follows to play to the bait of music and play the music that needs to happen so when not talk about leadership and leading teams by always love using the example them conductors and concert fans because everyone has different stops. I'm a more animated. Some listen but they will get the results and coming back to the beginning where we talked about uniqueness coming back to where we talked about you know focusing on different skills and they you have as an individual this is what makes you'll you'll build your personal leadership traits. What do I find the top five leadership skills and the people have someone? I've seen good leaders mid again. This is the leader of the constant pain. The leader of politics a lot of work around politics are CD's common skills. That I say that is honesty and integrity and sat dental fantasy. Always bill antic deliver bad news in pathetically but honestly and deliver good news with energy and passion and honesty. But it's always honesty integrity or fantasy number one number two inspire others. You have to have the ability as a leader to inspire everyone in the world wants. Inspirational seeks inspiration. We gotta have this tribe. It's very important if you want to build your brain as leader number three is be committed and passionate and if you're not committed and passionate things off until Quebec commitment and passion is the common denominator of resilience so if you were. The resilience is a common denominator of Gum. Commitment and passion. If you have commitment a passion you are resilient and as a leader unique to have that Resonance Nick. One is good communicator. You need to be an amazing Communica days. This is another gosh. If you can't communicate ECON late you'd go to get people to be able to march to the bait of your drum. This is something that needs to happen and number five is accountability. You need to have accountability and you need to demand can ability from your team so if you do these things these are what are fun of Obama. The skills set up the right lane is honesty and integrity. Which again is open to city number to inspire? Abbas number three commitment and resilience number four is a good communicator and number five is accountability. And I think if you look at anyone that you admire is a leader in any field whether it's sports whether it's in work whether it's easy whether Seattle whatever leave should whether it's a a Fatah great leaders people that have people followed them all have these five traits from and it's important because one of the three most important roles of leader to me. Well latest have to do different things. Depending on the year's activities we discussed because leadership is he personal bomb professional family life all asked to be ladies in different roles. Different responsibilities so that the three opinion a very common and to me. It's all about being able to envision it's all about the number correct follows and it's all about being able to execute so the three tasks of a later Matt whether it's leading at home at one co leading self is that you have to have a vision. You have to be able to get follow as to see that vision and you need to be able to and if you can do those three things combined with what I've covered in this flash costs than you will build your personal brain identity and remember that brain is what people say about you when you leave the room so if you really WanNa know what people think that your brain will think about you and I do this in in groups. It's a great exercise to. It's what people have to say that you when you leave the room. What is your your your emotional engagement your affect your impact on paper. New online platform might provide hope for Los Angeles art galleries struggling during COVID-19

"It is tough to see art in person when virtually all in person gatherings have been canceled you're relegated to seeing work online which you have to admit isn't really the same thing so what does that mean means art galleries are hurting because sales are way down some of those galleries could even close their doors for good but a new online platform that is the brain child of LA art dealer Jeffrey died chin name you may be familiar with in the art world is offering a glimmer of hope for local galleries and for the artists whose work they exhibit our art insider and greater LA regular contributor Lindsey Preston's Abbas is editor in chief a contemporary art review Los Angeles she's here to talk about it hi Lindsay Hey Steve before we get on to this new platform I guess can you give us a broad overview of what's what's the state of LA art galleries right now are they making any sales at all you know it's honestly a bit of a mixed bag from who I've talked to obviously as you said it not being able to see the working person is making a pretty big impact and and a lot of these exhibitions are kind of on hold or had to close early and a lot of galleries have reported that you know they're having to lay people off and even facing closure there was actually just an LA times article by Caroline Maranda that came out were they surveyed thirty five galleries and twenty five percent said that they might close as a result of this but other galleries I've spoken to are doing okay so it's a bit it's a case by case I'd say I do want to know about this new platform though I mean how is it different from what galleries and some art fairs are already doing online because you know we've seen that you know this this sort of coalescing of of galleries yeah I think when you first hear about it you're like okay what's going to make this different and unique but the really cool things so this was initiated as you said by Jeffrey Deitz who has spaces here in LA and also New York and he kind of had this idea and he quickly assembled an operating committee of about fifteen or so galleries and then they got sixty LA galleries on board so this is really a home grown operation dates you know for industry that sometimes can be a bit competitive it's really inspiring to see them all come together for a joint effort the goal unlike you know art fairs like art Basel or things like that that have gone online is really to support the diversity of of the LA art scene and a range of gallery sizes from tiny you know artist run spaces all the way up to the big guys well look I mean let's talk about this bigger galleries if if everybody's in competition even the small diverse is the the larger ones I mean why is it in their interest to help out the smaller struggling spaces do you think the larger galleries are acknowledging that effort that the small galleries put in to really feed what they're doing so it's almost like it's like the farm system in baseball right like minor league teams like helping out the major league teams right yes we need a sports reference that's perfect yes the smaller galleries often are in this mode of discovering young artists giving them their first shows kind of building their career you know some of these bigger galleries like the Goshen you can't just walk in and ask for a show and if they haven't already heard of you they're not gonna show you you know so it's really key that the small galleries kind of feed into the larger ones and it's really cool that the big ones are acknowledging that the smaller galleries are much more vulnerable in this time and they need to support them right how's it gonna work I mean if you if you see something on the platform that you like can you just buy it I mean do you added to your cart and then check out I believe how it will work as a site will always point back to each gallery's website to kind of close the deal or make the sale also through the site you can then finds that galleries contact and reach out to them directly and the goal is that one is featured on the scholar platform also nearer especially ones were able to kind of go back to galleries again that what's on this platform will near exhibitions that are actually at the gallery

Lost in Ghost Town with Carder Stout

"Hello everyone welcome to the addicted mind. Podcast might guess today is Carter. Stout and he is the author of an awesome book called lost in Ghost town harder. You introduce yourself. Are you doing so good to be here? My name is Carter Style and I'm on the addicted mind best. That's right. Welcome is so. Tell me a little bit. I as we're talking a little bit earlier. I just finished your book lost in Ghost town and it is a great read and I got it on audible and actually listen to it and it's so well read as well I. I feel really afford to the person who read it was just fantastic so It really gets the tone right and the beach right and I'm very grateful. Yeah it is it was. It was great to listen to so. Let's just jump in and talk a little bit about your book in your story shore so I grew up down in Washington. Dc Georgetown and She had a privileged background currents were business folks and lived in a big house and pretty much everything that a child would ever need besides the love and attention. Of course we all hope for as children and so I felt really felt guy was someone who was had a lot of value on my father was working all the time and my mother was alcoholic and pretty much on my own and that led to a lot of feelings of is delusion mints Blue self-esteem and from a very early age I had an older brother introduced me to alcohol and cigarettes and then to other substances when my parents got divorced. I think I was about eleven and there was. It was so chaotic in my house was so unhappy in my house and it was such a sense of disintegration of his family. That was a part of that. I began to experiment with eating disorders and I can't anorexic. I also game blame. It would for a young boy. Ornate less at that time was very rare and of course nobody knew what to do about it and that was really the way that I dealt with the pain of what was happening in my life and to learn to read that was my first real springs with addiction because it was a food addiction. Those addictions led me to in my teen years experimenting with Drugs and Alcohol and but my twenties when I was living in New York is when I started cocaine starting doing cocaine. And that was something that was prevalent. It was around a lot of friends that were in entertainment downtown and it just seems to be everywhere and of course my appetites or it grew and I began to really isolate myself from the group and started doing it by myself and I realized that I had a problem and I thought I moved to Los Angeles. I am really gonNA be able to take this on and and get myself back on track because La has each's and people go on hikes. Edgy do yoga. The macrobiotic food at least that was a mess and I told myself and so I ended up coming out here and of course the addiction got worse and eventually when I was really at my lowest point and I almost lost everything I ended up in Venice California and this is really the what the book focuses on is my time in the present tense of the book. Boston goes down and that time I had lost all of my friends. My family wasn't speaking to me being evicted from the small efficiency. I had it couldn't afford. I didn't have a bank. I didn't have a computer. I didn't Abbas phone but the one thing that I did have was a car and it was an old Ford Taurus sedan and because of that car I got introduced to a drug dealer in a part of Venice called the Oakwood neighborhood which was largely African American. And I didn't realize when I moods Venezuela this Oh good neighbor. Heart neighborhood was the epicenter of crack cocaine on the Westside of Los Angeles recept center of drug activity and wandered in and I met as Stra dealer need flynn who needed a drier and we quickly became friends and began driving around as he did his deliveries and he introduced me to this. World Service Underbelly of drugs and gangs and I was a white guy in a very precarious neighborhood and Flynn became a close friend. He was really not like it's a drug dealer. He was smart. He was self educated. He was ritual. It was kind and generous. Moral and So the two of us from very different backgrounds. Different races different socioeconomic status is forged his unlikely friendship and that's really what the book talks about a lot and focuses on. Is this friend that we had. And as we're delivering drugs to all sorts of different. He will on the west side and ultimately what happens is that he and his grandmother Beatrice who becomes a mother figure to me. Invite me to stay in their home and really for the first time in my life showed me the love and acceptance and care that. I've been missing for my own family and it was really bisque. Care that they gave to me for help me to WANNA take care of myself getting guests

Apple Launches New iPhone SE

"We weren't sure they were going to do it but they did on. Wednesday apple launched. Its latest IPHONE. Model the IPHONE S. E. by a press release much less glamorous than the flashy showcases. We've gotten used to and so is the phone the S. E. Marks Shift in Apple Strategy and our apple report trickle joins us to explain trip. Thanks for being here. They drive me all right. So tell me about the new quote unquote new features of the iphone as e you when you think about apple's product development timeline. They started these things so long ago before they're released but this is kind of a case of don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good if you think about it. This is a phone. That's that looks a lot like older phones that that has some of the technologies. We're familiar with with their older phones. For example fingerprint sensors and and not face ide- but features a low price of three ninety nine and right now. A lot of people are losing their jobs. Lower Price. Hyphen may be a good move for the company. Yeah I mean three ninety nine. It's still a lot of money like let's be clear but it's still a lot less than recent models. This isn't a pandemic move. You're saying this was already part of a longterm strategy. These phones are usually more than a year in development so the timing just happens to be coincidentally beneficial in the sense that we're in the middle of a recession and now apple has kind of a recession model phone. That just happened to be timed right for the moment. You said it has a touch. Id So we're back to the home button right. I guess yeah I guess you could say we're back in the future if you will right. It's an interesting phone and apple's done this once before they launched. What was an older looking phone with? Older technologies in two thousand sixteen. That phone was also called the IPHONE. Se and what they're able to do is they're able to take components that have been around for a while and machinery. They've been using for years them because they've had that machinery for a while. It doesn't cost them as much to make these phone so they can still have good apple profit margins. But you know not maybe you know the type of sizzle worry. We're used to from the company when it comes to technology and the feature specs. There are a couple of drawbacks with the phone. The other phone that we've been kind of waiting for from Apple. This year is the five G. This obviously is not that end of the spectrum. And it's still even with its lower tag. It's still more expensive than some of the average phones in the markets. That apple is trying to get into like India for example. So how could that have an impact on how well received? This phone is at the end of the day. Yeah absolutely I mean. I think that's going to be the big challenge for this phone. Is that Apple? Apple hopes that it can begin to build some market share and some some developing markets India. I mean that's a big growth market for the smartphone world right now. China is pretty much tapped and not part of the reason. We've seen apple's total number of shipments and its sales of smartphones in terms of unit sales decrease in order to reverse that they've gotta find a market like India and sell these funds. Problem with the is that it's still more than double the price of the average smartphone in India. So how many people are going to buy. It is to be determined. And then the other thing that it's got to contend with is they're going to be low cost five defines coming out in the months ahead from Chinese smartphone makers and the infrastructure may not be there on five G. We still don't know about that but there is a lot of marketing sizzle when you talk about five. G. It's a selling point. And so the allure of a phone. That may be speedier. That has five g technology and maybe a little bit faster might might make it harder for apple to sell these iphone. Essy's that don't have that technology and we talked about it already. Apple had some plans to release new. Iphones this fall. Do we expect those to still be on schedule? Given everything we're seeing right now with a pandemic that's like the the multi-billion world of Apple Right. It's like well. We'll products be delivered on time and that's really like everything's so uncertain right now. We do know that. Foxconn largest contract manufacturer has the production has returned to seasonal levels. But the way that apple rolls out and develop since phones is it really beginning stages and those stages began right in the middle of the corona virus outbreak and win those. Those factories really shut down in February. So it's an open question as to whether or not ABBA can make up for lost time and get these phones out in the fall in September when it usually does many analysts are already expecting the company to be at least a month late if not more all right. Reporter trip mickle. Thanks so much for joining us. I'm

"Abbas who the full about the club who the full of doubts who wrote a book on the rudd it would be a move drugs came to speak the look of that you're absolutely no living this laughing too busy after well so look take two tip tips beckham after that no progress in that now the path bob liberal to the nuts much less go doesn't really matter would be really know what it is it's up live her life un tries to tell us how to handle refugees nikki haley instantly shows them who makes that decision the trump administration has to spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up the message of the past and that is especially true when it comes to matters of immigration the previous administration implemented nonsense policies and agreements in haphazard fashion with neria thought given to the consequences former president barack obama and company also failed to deliver a crystal clear explanation to the american people of what they were doing that has left the situation akin to a gift that keeps on giving behind for president donald trump and his team but they are more than up to the task of cleaning it up baseless insults from the left aren't going to prevent them from doing what is right and they just demonstrated that once again dot the independent journal review shares the scoop the us on saturday pulled out of a un agreement on migration and refugees in forming the governing body that it intends on deciding immigration policies for itself our decisions on immigration policies must always be made by americans and americans alone us ambassador to the un nikki haley said we will decide how best to control our borders and who will be allowed to enter our country appointing haley to her position is one of the finest decisions that trump has made she presents herself and the nation exceptionally well in the course of doing her duties and the deliverance of these remarks was no exception haley has made it clear that things will be quite different as we move forward including when it comes to this under the radar move by the obama administration dot the us had signed on to the new york declaration for refugees and migrants adopted last september the measure calls for a global compact on migration to be developed in the near future which would be a significant opportunity to.
