"Frank leboeuf and don hutchison with us. Reflect on chelsea's two nil victory over everton and stevie. I feel drawn to you. As one of thomas calls biggest critics. Surely now you get credit. And i don't understand this biggest critic. I'm just telling you the things that he's doing. Franklin paul was doing as well no to this game against them. There's no question they would a class above today. You know the to move the ball from the back to the medal to the front as fantastic right. Frank lampard teams will do that. The difference between this team and franks team is not given up goals. So now is a different. That's a big difference as a difference. But but the the two as is a frank was the manager of any of the team and the premier league. It wouldn't go side that's came to my argument because this chelsea would've league because they had a great defensive unit and how horrible patch yes denied up. No the going back to what we do. Best and far five scoring goals. The last name premier league games frontline. Bob was in charleston twelve goals. Guess war nine games friendly. The name games. The tickles beating child's guess. What twelve goals. In exactly the same as that is why i'm arguing. For frank lampard rushing tickled to buy goods. I'm just telling the goes against the eleven games. Defeats is the big caveat. Your argument the percent. Yeah tom without. Don't what do you think you agree. We'll stevie saying do not only thing i would say honest is. Dot is impressive. I thought that was that best performance against have that looked shop. Kyw hubbard's look fit a potentially cut out a couple of goals won't choke off for handball. Chalked off that it was an own goal but think this has been a change. I think in the mental illness to chelsea blows frank. Upn a big critic of since he made that big move from germany was this his best game in chelsea shirt today. Yes definitely i mean. It's an encouraging performance. Even if i think he can do much better. Because i him playing for liver kuzin last season i better than even today. So of course. I'm expecting a lot from a talented player and not because of the price that he's been paid he's been transferred you just because of the quality that he showed when he was being in the german league. I'm sure we can do much better. But he's on the way back to his best. And i wish him the best minnow. We don't have many things to say about that. Game jussie deserve to win. I think everton was really poor. Didn't show much during that game. He did what they knew. What to do emits defending well as as tv said and two goals and that's it and they are full five tennessee's bias especially to move to to school another goal but don't forget that we are waiting in the corner four chelsea by game that they had atletico and some of the games liverpool everton and the they won all those games so doing great on nothing much to say is not very entertaining but do the

They went three to two advanced. Four three on aggregate a bombing with a couple of goals. Kieran tierney As well jill's. I'll start with you. Just how big was this for arson to advance the round of sixteen in europa league the result of course and qualifying but also the fact that they came from behind. He's he's been very very rare season. I think he was only the second time where they went behind and then ended up winning again we against southampton in the league. The game saint. Mary's but apart from that every time they were behind every time they considered. I couldn't come back and win it so to do that logically would be huge tonight. Four points. out of the top four spurs still stuck in a joining us for more. You're getting klinsmann and don hutchison. You're gonna start with you. Every time we evaluate spurs of late. I feel like the first question. Is we're spurs bad or was their opponent good. How do you break it down today. will you know me. I try to keep everything positive. When it's about spurs but a have be on today it's really difficult especially i forty five minutes to first. Half chelsea completely outplayed spurs. They got the lead with the penalty cake from georgina. Well-deserved served lead Spurs never created anything. The first forty five minutes. I mean their front line with the san benito's of burg line was pretty much not on the field and then they got a little bit more even in the second half I think chelsea should have been a little bit more. Clinical more decisive that could have scored a second or third one. That didn't do that. And that broad the spurs the last couple of minutes of the game back in the game and and they almost got venecia's there are almost had The win after the equalising header. Then it would have been one one and everybody would have asked well. It's not so bad. But i think it was a clearly well-deserved chelsea win Obviously that takes spurs now far away from the top spot via remain citizens. I think it's now fourteen points or something which makes a lot of spurs fans really happy today but Compliments to chelsea

"And Republican Susan Hutchison. Both as you watch this debate, we invite you to join the conversation on social media using the hashtag why election that is W A L E X now to the format of this debate, the town hall, the questions will come from the audience both here in the room, and from our broader audience via social media who have posted questions online each debate each candidate will have one minute for reply, and then the moderators will lead a follow up discussion on the topic before moving to the next question. There will also be one minute in closing statements to wrap up this debate. So let's get started. Jim Camden with the spokesman review has a question with an audience member. Ladies I have Frank Malone here who has a question on the topic of the environment. Question goes, first to Senator can't will. And you each have one minute. Thank you. Do you believe in climate change? And is it a threat to Washington's coast are there steps that should be taken to protect Washington from its effects. Thank you. Thanks for asking that question. And thank you for wearing that great hat and for your service to our country. My colleague, Susan Collins. And I did a report basically asked the government accountability. How much climate was impacting us? They said it costs us six hundred and fifty billion dollars every ten years because of its effect on our coastline on our shellfish the effects were seeing in catastrophic fires, and that we need to do something about it. So I definitely support making sure that we are not only mitigating the impacts of climate change. But preserving great things that help us reduce fossil fuels like keeping our mileage per gallon fuel efficiency that we implemented a decade ago. That's very important because it helps consumers save on their cost of gas. But also helps us save on our environment. Jason you have you have a minute to respond. Well, first of all, I notice your cap says, Vietnam and Desert Storm. So again, thank you for your service. I I remember that you ask the question, you said, do you believe in climate change and the word believe is associated with faith? And I just want to make sure that when we're talking about climate change. We base all our decisions on science. You know, when you combine politics and science, you can you end up with junk science, and and certainly we have to with a problem is significant as the changing climate. We have to be sure that our decisions as we go forward are grounded in good science and are clear of politics. And this is one of the problems that I have with those that use climate change as a wedge in politics of all subjects if it affects the entire world. Shouldn't this be a subject that? Draws us altogether. Shouldn't we be working together to bring the best? Scientists in all fields that are impacted or have a contribution to make when it comes to determining what impacts climate change. You're going to have you know, we've had climate change since the beginning of time. So what are the impacts going to do? Okay. We'll discuss it in a few minutes. Let's great you're on this topic. And. How much of climate change that we're seeing right now do each of you think is respon- is connected to human activity center. Well, as I mentioned there is impacts. And that is exactly what the scientists say. So the plan is let's make reductions in those greenhouse gases that we know are detrimental to our environment. I helped author tax credits to go to more renewable energy so wind and solar and biofuels in our state is leading in that that's very important because if we can change our energy sources to a cleaner sources of energy along with our hydro system that's going to make a for a better environment for the future how much climate change. So it's been going on since the beginning of time. Well, again, right now is is again, I would defer to the scientists to make that decision. Certainly we have an example with the ozone hole. Was over Australia and the southern atmosphere for a while. And we tackled that by banning chlorofluorocarbons, and as we quit using those in spray cans we began to close that hole. And so we have seen how human behavior can change the atmosphere in a way, but we also have to be really careful as we move forward to always balance against the needs of our developing economies. We don't wanna make those who are forced to make decisions that they are not ready to make as they're needing a growth in energy. We need energy to be clean as possible. And. Yeah. I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was I'd gone over time. Yeah, we're not. We're not timing. These Belkin candidates equal equal time was President Trump right to pull the US out of the Paris climate accords and our governors like governor Jay Inslee. The west coast are were they correct in trying to have their states meet those requirements Senator. Well, I disagree with pulling out of the Paris climate agreement. One of our leading citizens in our state, Bill Gates made a major economic investment and tried to get the rest of the world best scientists and investors in innovation that are going to help us deal with this problem for the future. So I definitely believe in a more collaborative approach. And here was Bill Gates waiting for the United States to continue that effort. So he could continue on the innovation side. And when the president said, we're not going to support that it is not working together with those nations that could help us address this. It is a big challenge. What is the president, right? If he was right? Are the governor's wrong? I think that what the president was saying is we're not gonna have an uneven playing field here when the major polluters in the world are China and India right now as as they're growing economies are throwing so much pollution into the air. Why should the United States be penalized? And they get a pass for several decades. So the president is basically saying this climate accord is not really fair, and it's not going to work. And so in the pragmatic way of looking at solutions to our environment. I think it's important that we make sure that whatever we pursue is going to work Senator is the governor, right? The other governors on the west coast to try and maintain these standards. Well, it's important to create market opportunities. And in Washington, we have several counties who have taken it upon themselves to do the leadership role. So they decided to make a whole window rela-. So if a governor wants to help push that along. To it's a good idea. Because as our counties have done gotten lots of second crops for our farmers. They get wins. And they get weed or something else. And so it works to help us. This is the Senate debate from the state of Washington between incumbent Senator Maria Cantwell. A democrat running for reelection and her Republican challenger Susan Hutchison hard to cut off his Senator, but. All right. Thank you, Jim and Frank for that for our next question. Let's go to Mark garden that news and politics editor at KC T S nine cross cut in Seattle. You have another member of the audience with you, Mark. We have my Crawford here. She has a question about trade for you. Will you advocates live tariffs? On our allies and trade partners. You each have one minute to answer. Let's start with miss. I thank you. I believe that the best free trade is fair trade, and what we are seeing right now and the tariff discussions around the world with President Trump and the administration is an effort to make the Plainfield even which has been uneven for a very long time. The average percentage of tariff that we place on other goods about three point five percent the Europeans put about five percent. And do you know the Chinese ten percent? But of course, that's grown now that they're in discussions. I am very pleased with what the administration has been able to negotiate when it comes to the agreement with Mexico and the agreement with Canada the EU with South Korea. And I expect that he is going to do an awful lot on behalf of our farmers and others who export to China when the trade agreement is discussed their tariffs are tool, and I believe the president is using them in order to get the Chinese to the table. Sarah, Kent, you have one minute. Yes. I will work to make sure that we're lifting tariffs on product made in our state that is now being penalized in other parts of the world. I think tariffs are a last resort. Not a first resort. I hope that we continue to modernize agreements like the Mexico agreement originally, the president said it wasn't a good agreement. But yet we have grown our exports from three hundred million dollars to two billion dollars from our state. But now those products are still even with the modernization of Mexico, still facing tariffs. So why should apples and cherries and potatoes still face additional tariffs in Mexico when it has become a big economic market opportunity for us. So I want them to be used as a last resort. Not a first resort. Sir. Can't will just building on that. Do you? Do you have? Do you have plans to support the United States Mexico Canada agreement? Yes, I do want to say that we want to keep modernizing and opening up markets as this does on digital issues, and there are some important dairy concessions that Canada was making a market distortion by supporting dairy prices. So I will do that. But you can bet that I'm going to bring up to all my colleagues in the United States Senate that we have not fully got nominees on the Export Import Bank a credit agency that the other side kings dragging their feet on. Now export opportunities are key here in the northwest. I held up the Senate to get the Export Import Bank reauthorized. But now we can't sell Boeing planes because they don't have a functioning board. So I'm gonna make this point while we have this discussion in November we need both. We need to open markets, and we have to have. Credit assistance for companies to gain access to markets, given that you see the new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada's having some advantages. I mean, there is considered a win for labor certainly opening up the dairy market and Canada's is seen as a victory doesn't that validate? The president's approach of a more aggressive policy that uses tariffs to to push our trade partners as as I said, I believe in tariffs last, not tariffs. I so here we're still dealing with Mexico, and it would have been great to modernize and his Richard Haass said the head of foreign counsel. Yes. It's he doesn't think it's a cataclysmic new deal. So what I'm trying to explain is that when we do agreements like Mexico the first time it had huge growth for us as market opportunity. So I wanted to grow on top of them. But now because of this dispute we have our products seeing as much as fifty percent tariffs. On their product. And what I worry about is farmers losing shelf space while this debate goes on for another year or so does some farm not make it through this season. Does somebody lose shelf space in next year where they go back to Asia somebody else? Australia is got the market space, and they don't want to buy from us. I'd like to.

"Back from the break face off. The falcons win the draw back to the point and a big blast. Thereby cook has never got it. How could he just on a rush up quickly from right to left after the block shot and that is snuffed out by air force and the falcons sent the puck and no icing as it never got down low to the goal line. Guess wrote Dixit out for grits at center ice, Nick Hutchison back to gastro, guess stroke. The spin it in and wraps around behind Christopolous going to be picked up by Paul. And as he spins with the puck. We got a whistle. Stopping play. We got a penalty coming up on air force. They got Brady Tom lack with an open ice it. They got him with an elbow Nick Hutchinson. Make that little drop pass back to his team-mate right at the red line Tomlin came across a got him with an elbow. It wasn't much. But it was enough for the officials to make the call so Kenichi we'll go on its third power play of the game. They are over to tonight. They have to power play goals on the season nine oh nine left in the second. Air force leads three two second time. Tom lacks pin in the box. The face off in front of Billy. Topless. Put it down. And then a false alarm. We're gonna do it again. And we can confirm now the last goal was scored by Evan pheno. There was no tip in front by geese. As we initially thought when we saw it went in queens off a female who has a hat trick the hat trick of his career. So the face off in front of Christoph the Drago enter the corner comes out of the corner. Pheno almost gets a take away at the blue line. Evan pheno seemed to be everywhere. These days. He is a thorn in the Griff side and a whistle stops play as a fight for a loose puck right in front of the air force bench. And we talked about a lot last season. How much air force team missed Evan. You don't expect a guy to come out and get five goals in three games? But it's plays like that. It's fizzle exits his energy the bring so much to this air force team face off just outside the grips blue line and the grips come away with the puck on the tap. He has it in spins all the way around and trying to pick it up on the other side, they do now they reverse it over here to the near side. Go back the other way with it. There's nobody home and it spins all the way around and boomerangs back in the and deep it's played by the goaltender back on the four check for air forces Pierce Plumer, and he's trying for a takeaway behind the net. But he's outnumbered three to one and spinning away. With the puck is.

"Reston town center it's a food lover's market so we are turning now to the german perspective and as we've been discussing for some reason the president's singles out that country and in lead if a particular school whether it's about trade tariffs all meeting nato's defence spending requirements this and do this we have some that don't and we'll they'll be dealt with in particular germany must demonstrate leadership in the alliance by addressing its longstanding shortfall indefens contributions germany has not contributed what it should be contributing and it's a very big beneficiary far bigger than the united states frankly so as i mentioned to the basseterre hutchison osha vonda lion the german defence minister is my next guest she also is the deputy leader of moguls ruling party and she is the chanceless close ally indeed she's the only minister to have served in cabinet since she came to pa back in two thousand and five and i should've owned align joins me now from brussels minister welcome to the program thank you so much kristof good evening well there is so much to answer that but i do i want to ask you the the elephant in the room question why as the strongest economy in europe do you not spend your two percent of gdp on your military in germany why not well you have to look at where we came from we had a long period since reunification of cutting budget twenty five long years of the budget of defense was lowered because germany has many other european countries thought that around us pieces growing democracies are growing around us and then came the two thousand fourteen when russia enacted the crimea and started the hybrid war in the ukraine and three months later we had isolated iraq and syria that was the turning point when the alliance decided with president obama that we should aim to spend two percent of the on defense at that time germany was down to one point one percent this was painful we made a turnaround since then if i look at the budget for the next year we just passed through the cabinet we have raised the defense in real terms by thirty percent and and the figures now we're projecting for two thousand twenty four a decade after wales will be in real terms a an increase of eighty percent i think we are on the right way okay thirty percent eighty percents still doesn't amount to the two percent of gdp on your military spending so the president will continue to criticize you for that i guess you know my question is what do you make of senator ambassador kay bailey hutchison's description of president trump's loud complaints as a strategy to get you all together and to make nato stronger by having its military's stronger you know we know as an alliance that we have to modernize this was cleaned the your two thousand fourteen because the security environment totally changed and we are committed to the two percent goal but it's not only about two percent of the gdp spending for defense because this number doesn't say anything about who is contributing what to the alliance doesn't say anything about cap abilities because you can spend two percent of your defense budget on your defense budget nationally without contributing anything to nato for example therefore i think and we agreed on that in the alliance it's worth to look at two other metrics that are capibilities given to nato and contributions to nato missions and i think convincing is that germany is the second largest troop contributor to nato missions overall we're we're just talking about the nato command structure germany is leading the joint support and enable income on the new one now in women we are the second largest net payer to nato so these are numbers that show that nato is benefiting from the german contribution as we all try to contribute as good as possible to nato so let me ask you this question i also put it to ambasaador kay bailey hutchison this is a sound bite from president trump just this past few days at a rally in montana he spits specifically again talks about your chancellor angela merkel and i said you know i'm gonna i can't guarantee it but we're protecting you.
