That's compared to last year. At the height of the pandemic. 750% higher heartbreak ends up our 75 up 75% from 2019. So let's talk a little bit about the efforts to keep businesses from moving out of California to other states. Last week, Governor Hussen spoke at Bay Area Council virtual 2021 Pacific Summit. He told Bay area business leaders that the state has to become more aggressive and has become more aggressive in fighting to keep companies from moving to other states. He said, quote we need to step up our game time to be more competitive. But is it too little too late? Here are some of the companies that have left Oracle Hewlett Packard Tesla, just some of the companies that have decided to move their headquarters out of California. They cited higher taxes, higher operating costs more red tape, and instead of working with these companies, California doubled down cities like San Francisco issued taxes on CEOs and fines for companies that operated during this year's pandemic shutdown. "D w v dot com Episode number 2044 1 of the three the program, so I just got I watched a video A tortures long video of Becca Hussen Aurore. The cultural appropriator who, as of tonight is saying he may run for governor. Which would be fantastic. He's got tremendous amount of executive experience, right, 0.0, but that's okay. Don't worry about it. Yeah, don't want because he won't win. Now, producer. David, did you say you are never spot him? More than my confusing you with our Our last caller was a great guy. Brian. From first Go. Are you worried about him? Or do you think there's no way Hill? Wind up up against Abbott. Mm hmm. I know there's a lot of California's moving here. There's But there's not enough to, uh I mean to what? How many times they won out twice. I think two statewide election there three. I can't. I'm so confused when I was Think due to do this is gonna be a second when he just had a couple years ago. So I'm thinking against wanted terror of all stance has Coming up next year year. Obviously it's 2021 already it's the same. So what is going to put the travel? Not now? But I mean, what do you say when he lost by 13, which is the best loss ever. She lost by so many points was beautiful. What do you think? Just give me a point. Spread producer. David. What do you say? Would it be? Would if you had to pick it right now, just pick Who would win and with the spread will be between Abbott and O'Rourke, who's single work? I should say. Yeah. Yeah, he's gonna lose. But it's making me a land. Simon. Will you at least say you think it's going to at least be, um, you know, five points at least hopefully. Okay. Good. That's good. Because that that's what I'm thinking, too, And that's all that matters. So will be the third loss which be fantastic, and that's very exciting to watch this man, lose and lose and lose again. He's a professional professional. Politician will not even positive professional person runs for office. That's his job. That was a job. So there you go. 800 to 88 w B a P 800 to 889227 in his eye sit To here and just watch the video of mentioning, though of battle playing, but who's gonna work? The cultural appropriator playing the air drums to the Who's Baba O'Riley in watching him skateboard and the water burger where you cannot, and by the way, it's not water Burger. It's what, uh, burger, not water Burger. So half of Texans and Americans mispronounces disgusting anyway, it was bad. It's embarrassing. Um, you know, he said, Keith mood. Tell me there's about a drummer. In his, uh, pathetic air drum video. And you say what Producer day Because you are a long time drummer. It's actually what's so funny. Oh, gosh, This is why you hate him so much. Is because he is a skater, or at least supposedly, is and a drummer. And that's what you are, too. That's insane. Dude, the man stealing Oh, yeah. Maybe he was a bass player. I don't know what Just double check. It does just see have dug check which if he was a drummer or a bassist, I don't remember now, but Um What is what is very interesting is they also claims to be Hispanic. And you actually our producer David, That's was very interesting. You know, he culturally appropriate and you agree with me that not only does he culturally appropriate, but you do believe as Hispanic American, that that is very offensive to you. It is fence because you believe these act actually actively and actually doing that. And so I love it. I love it because he doesn't play around. He he doesn't just say stuff like that. He said that firmly. He's like, Yes, he is culturally appropriating. So, but it doesn't matter to him. He's gets votes, so screw you. It's not about you and sung about any Hispanic people he killed just like Elizabeth Warren was she stole the Native American. Appropriation to to use to enrich yourself in Harvard, whatever she needs, whatever they need, Whatever these white privilege Entitled People who are with Wall Street, not with the people that happen to the game started. I had a hacking anything that you know short of the game stops. Stuffer had fun with the Gamestop shortage. Elizabeth Warren literally stood with Wall Street's. It's unbelievable, but it's actually it's actually not when you realize who she and big toe and Biden and Want want to drive us who they are all with. They claim to be for the little guy, but they're not there for Wall Street. For Wall Street gave the the overwhelming amount of 80 to 90% of their donations were too By not to trump. What do we get on better? What instrument does he plays that say which one? He was in it, man. Very vague because you're having trouble seeing through the weed wafting in his pictures. We can't tell which instrument is Trying to get past the picture. He wore a dress. Wanted. Oh, I can't remember and how I can't remember now it's been so long. Maybe that's why I can't let's see. I'll just pull them up bait. Oh, dress. Let's see what Where is that? Is that family always that when he was in a band That's right. Well, he was ahead of time He saw my gosh, she's so hard. It's so hot. Oh, my gosh. What I miss so hot. He's stupid and he's a star, but it's so hot. Okay, So where were we? Um Cuomo. Today. I finally saw how, um Cuomo actually will end up. Uh, I don't think he's gonna implode and crumble to the point where, um He, um has to go in hiding is done like that. But I think that this is the beginning of the end for his great legacy that he thinks and thought he had. And I think it's because of his grand arrogance. And his grand hypocrisy and because he thought he could get away with it because The media loves him so much So the Democrats love it so much. He literally walked into his own trap, and it was so great And so it's starting to unfold and Janice Dean, who was the chief neurologist at Fox News, who was on my show. Not too long ago. Um His I'm so happy for because she lost both of her in laws to covert and they were Democrats that voted for Cuomo and she is the head crusader in this Fight to get justice for all the people that died because of Cuomo. And she didn't want to be. And it was a beautiful conversation. I've got to have other when she was on for 30 minutes with me a couple months ago or so. It was beautiful. And so she's finally you know when somebody is so wrong. And they're mocked at this regarded there they're ignored. And they get no justice for months and months. And you know, whatever. You know dozens of whatever. I'm not six months later, eight months later, they've been got so much exposure. And have led the way unwilling well did not want to, but lead the way going up to Albany and leading the way with people that are probably Democrats just as much as Republicans but lost their loved ones and want accountability. And she goes up there, You know, five hours north and sits there with people and leads protests and stuff like that, because her parents her in laws died from covert because of Cuomo. Then I'm so proud of her. And so finally she seeing some justice The big It's the beginning of the end for Cuomo's far as a legacy Now what's going on? We're going to some fun here. We're gonna play some audio, not neck coming up next because we Pause for a moment, but When we come coming up next, we're going to play three pieces of audio with Cuomo and this is all in a thread that is on my Twitter feed. So if you want to share because it's just wonderful. Um Pieces of what Cuomo has said in recent interviews, including on MSNBC, where even there like Asking hard questions and their faces are like what When he answers things and denies it's unbelievable. "The morning of January, 24th 1945 near the town of Hussen, France. German forces ferociously counter attack The front left flank of the 7th and 8th infantry Regiment was 600 infantry troops. Six mark tanks and tank destroyer. Smart Six. Thanks sorry. Lieutenant Connor, having recently returned to his unit after recovering from a wound received in an earlier battle was working as the intelligence officer in the third Battalion Command post at the time of the attack. Understanding the devastating effect that the advancing enemy armor could have on the battalion. Lieutenant Connor immediately volunteered to run straight into the heart of the enemy assault to get a position from which he could directly direct rich friendly artillery on advancing enemy forces. With complete disregard for his own safety. Lieutenant Connor maneuvered 400 yards to our enemy artillery fire that destroyed trees in his path and rain shrapnel all around him while unrolling telephone wire needed to communicate with the battalion command post. Upon reaching the battalion's frontline. He continued to move forward on her enemy assault to a position 30 yards in front of the defending United States forces, where he plunged into a shallow ditch that provided minimal protection from the advancing enemies. Heavy machine gun in small arms fire with rounds impacting all around him. Lieutenant Connor calmly directed multiple fire missions adjusting round after round of artillery from his prone position until the enemy was forced to hold his advance and seek cover near it behind a nearby dyke. For three hours. Lieutenant Connor remained in this compromise position and during the repeated onslaught of German infantry, which at one point advance within five yards of his position. As a German as German infantry, regrouped and began to mass in an overwhelming assault. Lieutenant Connor ordered friendly artillery to concentrate directly on his own position, having resolved to die if necessary to destroy the enemy advance. Ignoring the friendly artillery shells, blanketing his position and exploded mere feet from him. Lieutenant Connor continued to direct artillery fire on the enemy assault swarming around him until the German attack was finally broken. His heroism and disregard for his own life. He was one of the many changes That was made to this light up wand Allow ski Hussen, Selina's Lopez, all a niece and Marie, all among the changes that were made to this lineup. So who said, we only got to see about 30 ish minutes of him? For he went out with an injury replaced by Andy Rios. It was his groin. As we take a look at the benches for both these teams. J. T. "To start attacking on the right flank. Schoenfelder working there. Rahim Edwards. Edwards, charging into the A team is passes deflected. Espinosa takes it on top of the arc and out turns and heads up field for San Jose. And this will play to the outside. Bokko drifting in Lifting one over the top want to catch Wondolowski, but he's got some traffic on the inside, couldn't get their handled off the bounce by Miller. Four minutes of stoppage time have been added here. Even Wondolowski at this point looks winded. He's been chasing the game so much. It's so difficult to be a substitute and then asked to do everything. Offend with everything attack. For him. It's been an open game since he's arrived. Here's Bacho. Into the 18 takes the shot. Hi. And Miller was able to keep his hands. Away from that one. So it's back on a goal kick for the ludes and for the earthquakes, they'll look back on this game and the wonder really, what if, but you just have to say the one bright moment they had as a Tommy Thompson? Forcing Korea's into a handball, not a very dangerous moment in the game. So they just haven't been the earthquakes. We've seen all tournament long, Ted. They haven't been creating the chances. And it really we've noted since minute one. The energy levels just haven't looked the same. How could they be? As we see skate and putting one into the 18 But Miller comes flying off his line to grab it and keep it away from Danny Huston, who was the closest earthquake. Two minutes and change of gone by and the least four that were added on for one in favor of Minnesota. Right now quarterfinals of the MLS is back tournament Minnesota if this final holes would go on to play Orlando in the semis Wondolowski leading Hussen while knocked back to Wondolowski back to Hudson Hussen. Fierro byline. And couldn't turn on that one sends it into the side piping behind the net. And it's back to the Lute's. Well, you thought last night when LF she could not get the resulting against the home team Orlando FC You just felt it could be that type of turnip for the earthquakes were the favorites go down and the quakes go in, but unfortunately they couldn't produce the same type of moments. But they have all tournament long but Full credit to the lone star Ted. They have definitely been the aggressors. They have been the more sharp team they have been. The war. I guess team that executed the plan they came in to do. It's what they've done to San Jose time and time again. And they got that early lead and did not relinquish only built upon it. Like you said The one mistake was the handball inside the box of Tommy Thompson that it's almost flawless came from the loons. Just so many things, right?.

"You get a look at the Thanks fans in the Zoom party. Some sort of room party. Not sure who Who is hosting knows As we get a hydration break show and you've got 15 minutes and change now, Joe roughly when you got to just play to the open game at this point, trying to make something happen, right for sure. And I think Adrian Heath is on the flip side, probably telling his men they have to slow it down. When they get the ball offensively. They've gotta put some type of possession because they know San Jose's strength. They know they can't probably with weather a storm for 20 minutes of just playing defensively. We need to get set up in their low block. The earthquakes are looking more dynamic. The longer this team this game goes. The question is, will they be able to get one and get them back in this game in time? You know, Look at Chris Wondolowski. Three goals in the tournament. Is it a six gold for 90 minutes played rates. I believe right now, Joe. Right? I mean, it's There's nothing more. I think I think I said the same thing. Five years ago, there's nothing to say. I mean, this guy is just Mr Efficient. Adrian Heath. Yeah, It's gotten a lot of TV time tonight. Back in play. Sent long San Jose and robs kicks it back into the Minnesota half where it is going to be Dotson, who comes down with it moves. It's centrally skating. Pressure anything, Finlay, but only able to come down without putting out lied for Dotson again. Not looking for an outlet pass, works it inside finding Schoenfeld. Back outside. Watson deflection. Bounces over the top colonies. Laying this back to Vega. Make a place along this one sails into the circle. Loosen. Heads it down into the path of want allows. You puts it out on the right wing. The arrow. Overlapped by Espinosa. And the arrow spun and just couldn't get a good hit on that ball. Out of play that looms. Just look a little bit indecisive going forward. They don't know if they should hold possession if they should try to get even farther in the attack on the defensive end. Michael Boxer has let Danny Hussen handled and hold up the play twice now. Coming off of him. Uncharacteristic what we've seen all game. They need to put pressure. You don't want them to be able established. Possession your half Rahim Edwards is sub Don for Robin Lawd. Bounces back to the possession of San Jose colonies. Wanting Espinosa and where he met words almost stole that again. That's just those tired legs. I think you're speaking of Joe is all of these. It's this back, puts down the left wing for Shay Salinas, working on a sunny Dotson Salinas off the right foot. Stops now putting one into the 18 towards the spot headed out of the 18. But this is going to fall to the control of Espinosa, who watches it out. Smart play. They're letting the earthquakes get a little bit more organized. Why you also let the looms get more organized as really fascinated, See Espinosa letting that run. He normally likes to be isolated. It just goes to show you how well chance Gaspar's done. Nowlan East, bringing this forward out of top of the circle to his right. Bouncing off of skating. Back to Kashi is 79 minute, 31 Minnesota Vasco. Outside Salinas. Back to Vasco. On top of the 18 he lets it fly once again too high on that one out for a goal kick for Minnesota. 79 minutes. Frustrating night, Rocco. He's put himself in some good spots. Similarly, he's been right there on that right side of Tyler Miller's and opened right footed, with that far post, just gaping, waiting for it. He's got it all wrong A few times tonight, Ted, you just need to put it on frame needs to start asking questions. At this point. There's not enough time. Every possession is paramount. Long ball from Edwards to show Infeld knocked around. Hairston fighting with colony Solon ese for San Jose wins it back. Trying to find an outlet goes back into the circle towards you'll spins away from one man turns back up to face. Minnesota goal lays it off to his right pushes the Ford Espinosa wakes trailing 31 in the 80th minutes. Now, all of these Top of the circle to skate in Gay and outside Espinosa. Espinosa on the brake fighting against Edwards left footed cross into the 18 headed by Hussen. Couldn't get it on frame out for a goal kick with loons. Good job from Christian has been notes up once again just doesn't have the ladies to get by Edward's cuts it back on his less preferred left foot. And who's in trying to come back to that ball? Can't redirected on frame. 81st minute, 31 Minnesota right now leading San Jose in the quarterfinals. Of the MLS is back tournament. This is single game elimination. So if this is The end's results, Jose would be out of the tournament. Honeys. Back of the circle. Coscia Espinosa. Coming through to skate and muff Wondolowski, but sand can't hold on the possession one backed by Ozzie Alonso. Now Gregers, bringing it forward. And Lane went out on the right half. Is this going to be run down by Ethan Finlay. Bentley. Cuts it back here. Stone with a shot gets way under that one. It's going to be out for a gold for San Jose Reston is putting his hands up. But he gets it all wrong because he has time to not only get the shot off but to look up. To see who's open. Ethan Finlay does so well, this is what I'm talking about Ted. They need the whole possession or get a higher percentage shot. They give possession back to the earthquakes. When you're tired. The last thing you want to do is be defending against a team with a guy like Chris Wondolowski around..

"And brings it across to the far side. Here's a sonnet. Dotson into the 18 takes the shot. It's going to be wide off that side netting almost had the bit of visual illusion there. Joey looks like on the back for a second there. For the loons, just a good job of switching the point of attack. Here's Hussen. Plays it back into the quakes hath And out of play throwing for San Jose. And they're going to say it deflected off of Espinosa. A lot. Yeah, he did. He got his foot in there and I'd like to think this hydration break will probably benefit the loons at this point. Any slow down of the game. And it's back skate and getting into Wondolowski scan making his first appearance for San Jose. I should note What you buy CFC you Here's Vasco on the exact Bach Elated offer Salinas Salinas working in on Dotson Salinas towards the spot. The Alonso gobbles it up and gets it out of the danger zone. Played Out towards Schoenfeld. Back to Greg. Votto Alonso Lod. And then Espinoza. Get steals it back. Espinosa on the attack for San Jose lays it off to his right for Fierro. You're a light in the 18 cross deflected and it's going to be headed. Brought down by Vasco left of the six Bokko on Dotson Bokko drifting towards the top of the 18 turns shoots. It's going to be high and wide out for a goal kick. For the loons. All the earthquakes doing a better job. Just took a turn over at midfield. I got it all wrong, and Fergus Espinosa. I thought he made the wrong decision there. He either need to let that one fly on his preferred right foot. Cut it across the way he puts it outside and the looms are able to set up defensively. Back.

"KNBR, 10 52nd half begins. No hears the voice of the quakes. Welcome back to the stadium where Joe Kanan and I are Taking it all in. We're course not in Orlando with the San Jose Earthquakes at ESPN Wide world of Sports complex, But we have been able to bring all the action Joe and see it all. It's too nothing. Minnesota United After 45 change and you know one of the things that We've really seen from the quakes in these last few games. They've come out with a great amount of spark, but the legs did look a little bit flat at the start of this one. Wow, for sure they did, and for you know, we've been accustomed to seeing them dominate. Game in game out, even against Seattle. It was 00 but we really felt they had the lion's share of possession and the lion's share of not only possession but possession in the opposing Half. So this is definitely a change for the earthquakes. They run up against the Minnesota side. That's just a motivated as they are, and really what the big question is. Now. What is Matias Almeyda going to say to this team? At halftime. Or what changes is he going to make to turn this around? And you have to wonder what we're going to see? Like you said in terms of those changes because you do have Danny who sin you have Chris Wondolowski. You have cave cattle. You have Shay Salinas. You have Carlos Fierro. Those are your big weapons right now on offense, and that's a good weapon. Those who go up is that Salinas cowl wand Allow Ski Hussen and Fierro. I don't think there's anything about those five subs. They can't get you right back into this game, But you got to make sure it stays just a two goal deficit. While there was a line change against the Vancouver Whitecaps, I think it was four subs that he came out with You and I I wouldn't be surprised to see something somewhere tonight. From my angle. It just seems like the team overall just lacks cohesive energy. There's no more of that dynamic play that we've seen. That's got him to this point and the guys on the bench. Their legs already. They've been at it. They're the ones that haven't accumulated the over 300 minutes that most of the starting team has. So for me, it's got to be changes with personnel first, and that could lead to more energy, which could lead to more chances which you lied to the earthquakes. Getting back into that. As we get ready for the start of the second half between the San Jose Earthquakes and Minnesota United, it is to nothing in favor of Minnesota. At the half Ted Raimi alongside quick Cell of Famer Joe Cannon. Every team needs a strong game plan. Whether you're on the pitcher preparing for an emergency, and if there is one thing the last few months have taught us, it's that we all need to stay prepared..

M. T. welcome to weekend from the BBC world service with me Judy America so the Italian government is introducing a radical new restrictions in a bid to contain the spread of corona virus in a degree published initially in the Italian press these include preventing all but emergency travel in and out of the worst affected region that's Lombardy museums sports centres in ski resorts could also be close we're joined by Giada is I'm part of a freelance journalist based in Rome and judge of the scale of these announcements indicates just how seriously this is now being viewed in Italy yes this is exactly M. D. the attic unexceptional Hey you know decision an exceptional decree which was actually drafted the and then leaked to the press to creating a looks of confusion about the new managers Patty was confirmed during the night after a press conference at by prime minister just have pickled table explained that it this moment these are the necessary measures needed to try to contain the contagious which has been escalating into really surprising way and now we have now what is two hundred people at that and from the new coronavirus and over five thousand people and taking that in our clean contaminated so it's becoming a real national emergency and the reaction to these measures so far what are people saying I think most people we're actually kind of prepared to dis we'll see if for example the lumber deflected old creature needs probably going to be locked down after these degree S. there was some sort of panic some people are probably trying to you know take a train or find out that we used to leave the region trying not to be trapped there but apart from that the where lots of controversy between the local region the real current governors and the central power and the central government about you know how to handle these emergency and so I think these kind of measures which were decided at center deliver and are pretty extreme I'm going to probably encounter some sort of resistance at the local level what about the economic impact of this in any measures that might be in the government's mind to to try and ease the wider picture yeah this is actually a big problem because easily easy set up very difficult situation the there's a massive step that this waiting on the economy and is freezing another dramatic recession which it would probably be confirmed forty easier after dis corona virus emergency so I think the government is going to try to use these emergency as a way to obtain the more we go home to with the European Union on how to use you know it's status six and the possible boost group growing boost measures that could help to contain the damage from these emergency that's for sure is going to be huge thank you very much John is upon a freelance journalist based in Rome on those measures introduced by the Italian government well we stay with economic matters but for different regions and go to Lebanon last night the prime minister of Lebanon announced the country will for the first time defaults on a foreign currency debt Lebanon was due to pay a one point two billion eurobond that matures this Monday the prime minister hi sandy OB said more than forty percent of the population could soon be in poverty will carry much higher is a journalist in Beirut working for the public source which is an independent news organization I'm reaction to this Kareem what a country says it can't pay its debts people are going to be very worried on the note good morning absolutely so I think for many people they have been expecting the fault to be this isn't there to be made you know the country's running out of its reserves and the different colonies far from productive so for a lot of people they even feel the faults only way for the government to you know stop kicking the can down the road and actually get something done but unfortunately all options whether they try to pay that that's or default it's going to you know there's there's no positive option for any of this when you look back I'm imagining over a number of years is it possible to identify the root causes of the economic problems the country now faces absolutely so there's a lot of talk about you know corruption and mismanagement of public funds but I think the root problem goes back you know towards the end of civil war in nineteen ninety one Lebanon's reconstruction effort transformed the con for productive onto a service one so we saw lots of efforts towards banking luxury tourism and real estate but things like industry agriculture never really came back together so lebron doesn't have a productive economy in that sense and I think this is why I called me husband so fragile for the past few decades I'm trying to do with it I mean you you use the phrase kicking the can down the road a moment ago the implication that being that the government knows it's a problem but doesn't really know how to deal with it yeah absolutely you know at the end of the day this is a very it was a very toxic of economy but we have seen a record profits you know for real estate companies and the banks and they've they make profit over the system and so there were fears of time with it really well for themselves even though we have been to have rapid economic inequality we don't have a console secure network whatsoever so this is how things sort of worked out for themselves I'm not inequality when people call upon health services when they send their children to school all day now beginning to see those services decline I would say so I mean lebron has never had a really good it'll a public services becomes a ducation healthcare otherwise horses and two thousand eighteen the government husband calling for you know austerity measures which they say you know are short but necessary painful measures for the economy to recover people do fear you know further cuts to the services which are given adequate to begin with but people still have to rely on a private alternatives just to get the bare minimum required for ito for decent living but now the great fear is that with a lot of public sector where workers you know having their salaries decimated or getting laid off you know people feel that that that poverty level or forty for some it might get even higher because many families still do live paycheck to paycheck to paycheck office jobs with no viable alternatives right now thank you very much for that Karim Chaya journalist in Beirut on the latest economic picture in Lebanon it so we can from the BBC world service now women and men from the civil society in all walks of life plan to take part in marches around Paki sthan today March the eighth international women's day to demand rights for women will be hearing about other parts of the world in a moment as well the organizes in Pakistan of or after March twenty twenty have been criticised over some of the slogans and placards with some people saying that they are crude and they feature offensive language the BBC sickened Kamani joins me now from Pakistan gives a sense Sikandar of what's gonna be happening over the next few hours so it later on today we're expecting that is to take place inside the all the major cities of Pakistan Islamabad where I am right now Lahore Karachi as well as in some of the the the smaller towns as well and although it's much or it means women in in or do this is been the kind of largest topic of discussion on social media really for the last at least two weeks and as you say there's been a lot of controversy around it with right wing Islamist politicians threatening to use force to stop the protests this war the demonstrators someone even go to court to file a petition to try and get the court to stop these that these rallies taking place a lot of the focus has been on some of the slogans that have been used a slogan in particular that seems to have been raised the right wing section of the of this country we can say is that it you know do it hasn't made it just a medium medium was.
