"We have not risen to the point of having delays caused by congestion yet. No, in fact the right now it's just if there's protests salt lake yesterday with the Horn Bridge, which became a just a train wreck. In the. Didn't happen until after right around ya I thought I was in the middle of the diversion that was going on from. But it happened and yet more that is one of the things that by the way just as a total side is hacking off some of the law enforcement in many of these past protests. Big Ten of wink wink. This is what we're GONNA. Do there isn't any of that, so it's catching? It's causing all of this last minute. You know jumping around by law enforcement because they don't know where the protest is going and what it is that they're gonNA. Do and there's unpredictability factor you know. It's very hard to just all of a sudden close the Hoan Bridge because you gotta get to all the entrance ramps and stop everybody from coming at it. If you don't do it, you run the risk of somebody driving into plowing into people swell what they have done as far as freeway patrols as they've turned it over state patrol so that the sheriff's department is free to help. Milwaukee Police Department your. Thought it was a sheriff, but like I said it probably had just happened dead. In fact, they even had to use an unmarked car to took to black, seven, hundred, ninety four with sheriff squad. Just because you know you know all hands on deck and I could tell that the was the hit. Adjust happened because the traffic so I, Bet I got to it only ninety seconds after they closed because I was only like they're only like fifteen cars in front of me on the blockage. must've just happened anyway. What do you have an hour? So we've got that crash forty three southbound through the Marquette and then there is another march going on, and this is They've been working themselves from Humboldt Park there now on first street almost about National Avenue at this point, and they continue towards there is humbled. Perk have as like Oklahoma and K. K. Oklahoma how that's humbled park okay. So they are so they'll be in downtown probably in the next. Half Hour guests and there will be kind of the usual street closures as they. Do what they probably is essentially the same route that they took yesterday into doubt, and what's seems to be the case so far is if they stay off the freeways. The cops are going to let them black the streets. They get on the freeways that we have had. Trouble, and that's where the original confrontation last night near the Pfizer form is very close to the entrance ramp for I. Forty three, and the authorities are not going to allow them to go onto the freeway, and that's when the molotov cocktail was supposedly thrown. And so on and the Horn bridge situation had occurred earlier where they stopped where people did try to get out of the home bridge, and they had a close it because they got on. There so the freeway appears to be the line of the line in the sand that they're drawing. Sure.

"You think might resonate with your readers? Oh, goodness. Well, I will say they're both passionate about what they do Li. I think I've already said she's a victims advocate working with, you know, domestic view. She works in a clinic in the Humboldt park area. In Chicago, all of the books takes take place either in Chicago or in a fictional suburb of Chicago, and in in in book three is living in in Chicago and Diego is actually back. He's born and raised in the Humboldt park area. Chicago it's a an area with a heavy of Latin community and so- Diego left for the army. Join the military came back home finished college online and became a cop. And and both of them are determined to. They're they're focused on making a difference in the lives of the people that they serve in the people that they live with. With the issue is they both. They both go about it. And completely different ways. We leave Lee will tell you. She lives in the gray area as victims advocate, you know, focused in, you know, social work, the the great there's no black and white. There's a lot of emotion involved. And you gotta look at that. Geico. He's had there's some family drama. You know, his his sister started in high school down really wrong path, and she made a lot of wrong decisions that kinda tore up his family lead kind of to, you know, his mom's passing, and so data is throughout the course of this book. He's trying to figure out can he reconnect with a sister who he can't control that he may want good things for. But in his perspective. You can't when he's learned as you. Can't you can't make someone make the right choice? They have to want to make the right choice and Leah's still determined. That she can help other people make the right choices. And I think ultimately what I try to do is for the two of them to learn how they can balance each other out. And it's not that they're one of them is wrong or right? It's that looking looking at life through both of their lenses, helping each other and support each other, you know, they can both do good together. And and I'm hoping that that's a universal desire that that readers will connect with and see people maybe just like them, or at least people with similar desires and wants a needs as them just living a regular life. You know, trying to make right decisions even when they're in really really bad situations. And so you've mentioned their their careers is victim advocates Diego's a cop. Did you do any research or anything on those careers or to kind of have an idea where you want the those storylines to go. Yes. I actually I have a good friend who is a victims advocate here in Florida. She what she was great. You know, asking questions and bouncing ideas off of she also really made sure that I knew, you know, hey, you're in Florida's some things could be different. So I did call out to a women's shelter out in the Chicago area to kinda run some scenarios by you know, ask them questions that you know, about different situations. Kind of how different things would handle would be handled. Also, I mean, obviously, I googled in and use the internet, but I also did call out to one of the local precincts in Chicago and speak to someone of the public advocacy office them. I can't remember like right now the right term, but one of those offices and to ask some basic questions again about procedure things to to try. My best to make sure that I didn't that that I followed. You know, there was not anything that was completely unbelievable or that the situations. Maybe like the verbiage the terms that they would use that kind of thing because I don't have anybody close to me that that is a cop. So I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't just relying on like the cog PD TV show, which I love you know, that that kind of thing 'cause you always hear oh gosh..

"Of ways of the cross of course throughout the entire archdiocese i joined three particular events one at west humboldt park one another one at immaculate conception and the other one that ended up to at the cathedral but the the main one that i attended at immaculate conception really celebrated the young people who many of whom went to washington dc for the march for our lives and in fact i saw six buses off when they were traveling there on the evening of the thirteenth of of i think we're thirteen th no no i'm sorry it was the twenty third of march and and i went to to bless them about two hundred and fifty young people and some of those young people we're at the event that we had and on good friday that's very cool yeah it is and i think there as i said they're young voices are really challenging us the catholic church in chicago is also driving the renew my church initiative calling on every catholic to participate in a multi year initiative to revitalize the church in the archdiocese ensure growth for generations to come if we keep doing what we keep doing that won't happen that's why a little changes needed well i think that what we're trying to do is first of all let people know exactly the situation of their parachutes a lot of people don't have firsthand knowledge of the vitality your lack of healthy and so we really want to make sure that they know it's what's it issue here we also i think are offering them a pathway forward but that comes in consultation with that we don't have any preconceived ideas when when for instance we hear reports that this is about the archdiocese having made decisions to close any number of parishes that really isn't true we are having very structured disciplined dialogues with each parish community to let them know the situation and asked them to help us chart a way forward to make them vital and sustainable longterm that's that's the thing everyone can have a stake in this everyone can't everybody has to have steak absolutely i always find this fascinating masses or sudden over twenty five languages in the archdiocese and the church to me an attending weekly masses always been a place of peace and i.
