I don't think I think it was his regular driver's license. Why would it say a driver's license? Right? Why is it saying a state issued I D If it's a driver's license? That's also a state issued idea. Is it not? I know it is, but it's It's very imprecise. Mm. And that's a good question. How you can look at just how the police log had documented. This is why you developed sources in the police department. Right, Taylor? Yes. So you could you so you can find out what was really used. Is that a dig at me that I didn't find the source of whether or not it wasn't a BT or an I D? No, I'm just saying Taylor Taylor used to go down to the New Bedford Police Department, just like I used to go down to the Winston Salem Police department and sometimes the Boston Police Department, Ednor Flores 34 entered a PNC Bank and the city's humbled park section. Florida's proceeded to give his authentic I D to the teller when asked for he over his temporary state I d card issued by the Illinois secretary of state just days earlier. That's his name. Ednor Flores. Mm hmm. I'm gonna get. It was not a legitimate driver's license under any circumstance. I'm starting to think it might not have been either man covered in. Your sister with the mission of our Lady of Angels, Chicago's West Humble park, and you are running to make a difference. Here. You are running to raise money for the mission in Humboldt Park for your mission and humbled Park. And you are your distance runner. Is this what I've learned about you? Yet everything he says There are totally correct. Okay for having me. Yes. Thank you for being here now your distance runner, but you get the sense. There is no marathon this year and actually no marathons, period and in the kind of fund raising ones are now not with us for the moment. You're going to do this kind of treadmill is that correct? That's correct. I am running a marathon attorneys on Sunday betting uh, now when you say exciting What do you mean by that? Alright, it's gonna be exciting in that it will start and then it will end with the very gun a full 26 miles on a treadmill. Correct. I'm running 26 miles on treadmill. Yes now. Ah! How does that work Because you have to set your pace on the treadmill, right? I mean, I've seen them. I don't really like them very much, but I know what they are. And what's what pays you set? Yet, so I'm gonna try to run Ah, 7 47 Pace, which is 7.7 mouth per hour on the treadmill. That's the theory that's going to happen. Check in with me at Mile 23. All right, so that would be said that basically takes us to be about of three in three hours, 45 kind of thing. Three idea. The goal is slightly under 3 30 Yes, that's a miracle. Oh, man. See, now when you're running on a treadmill, the difference is you're just constantly staring at the wall or the TV or there's something else. Well, how you entertain yourself as opposed to you know all this stuff like a cool marathon. You're running past interesting things. Right now, So I'm very, very blessed that I had a friend. Her name is PJ Wyland, who has organized overblown entertainment for me the entire time. So I'm gonna organize where he's gonna be under continuous boom call. Where all these friends, benefactors volunteers from the mission. They're going to join me on entertainment A and talk to me and say Rara, who during the entire rates but should hopefully be Pretty distracted. That's the goal right now. How we raising money for this mission? Right, so I mean, we got a mission on lee dot com and that's three donate. And the main thing is that I'm running a treadmill marathon and hopefully people feel really bad for me and are generally agree, and also generally would like to help our work here in West whole part So the idea was that the turtle Marathon obviously is kind of in the same thing. But then it would raise awareness for what we're doing here. Um, and with all part of a massively large food pantry that has been massively large during Coben to raising awareness for our needs. His mission. Ola Mission, ella dot com on you go there and then you look up your particular fundraising page there. It's actually just on top. It's a sister ship during a credible marathon, and you can click right there and don't get people under. I hate to have to work pretty out of it. Okay, good. Well, right now I'm hoping it Sometimes they are obvious to me or not Obvious. Other people are not obvious to me. All right, Sister standing, all right. So this is where you would you be doing this normally? I mean, this were marathon season, people actually were in marathons. We'd be raising money doing that as well. Or you just do that for your own entertainment. Right. Well, I normally have a very, very large charity team. 103 people this year would have been running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for Mission of early details So obviously this marathon get cancelled. Our team is still actively fundraising and running, but we need a fundraiser thing. Emphasise little, you know, excitement here. So that's how the Colonel Marathon came to be with the need to kind of jump start fundraising in the light of the Cancellation of the Chicago Marathon. Yeah, So the beginning of it, Tell me a little bit about what you're seeing now in your your mission mission. Your You know your day job. Yeah, as my real thing really is just like a aside a little fight painted. Yeah. So we've been seeing triple the number of people we normally do at our food pantry. And all kind of new people we've never seen before, and just really intense need for material goods. In the light of all of the unemployment and difficult to use it. It happens all over the city. So it is primarily an unemployment thing that that's what's drawing people at this moment. There are people who would otherwise. Biggs air Yeah, I mean, there's there's a lot of factors, but yes, a lot of people have walked, work or hours had been cut or various sources of income had been marked. And other sources of food have been lost Lots of little gantries that something would stop functioning. And then lots of people didn't have extra food because of school. You alright? Exactly. Yeah. Yeah, So we There was a lot of increase need from a kind of a lot of Complicated vectors that we're working together. Okay. Alright. Sister, Stephanie Bell IGA. "Out of the shadows telling stories of Chicago's marginalized communities how about that. We are going to go to humble park Hermosa over and talk at the factory on west Armitage about that neighborhood. We're going to talk with the author of a new book about which I'm so excited about this is great. It's a it's a look at river north as we know well in this area in the nineteen seventies. And how it was the predominant place in all of the country in was in the mid west the country for a gain clubs. Yeah. Hubbard street was all gay clubs up and down in the in the seventies from nineteen seventy three to nineteen eighty three. Or so it was really it that area. There was nothing. There was old factories. No, assholes gleaming, skyscrapers and stuff. And no one lived there. It was ranked thing because then. As Roma's community and people left the gay community could come down to river north for the weekend or for for parties for whatever it might be and feel that they would not harassed although there was a lot of harassment, and that time it was very interesting to look because if you look down Hubbard street and Chicago river north there is there's some remnants of it. You can see some old signs. You can see I think there's still an adult bookstore that is right there in the leave. It's interesting because there's two very expensive, restaurants and other side of it. Yeah. Exactly. And it's in on key. And he does a great job of explaining the history club called dougans bistro, which was from one thousand nine hundred thousand nine hundred eighty two and it was reliance around the block, and it was studio. Fifty four three years before studio fifty four wow city right here in Chicago Zeca, come up in the clock. Our eight o'clock hour be here for extension seven twenty go. Cameras one girl, we were friends with or I I was introduced to and she's an architect and she like talked about stuff like that. And like if I'm an outsider's perspective, I have an understanding of gentrification. But you know, and I've seen it whatever. But I wouldn't I wouldn't think about architecture as it relates to that. And that was part of like what she did was like thinking about how like architecture or how design could be more integrated into cities, and where people live instead of like just putting a modern building in an area lake humble park or something like that. Which is where I'm looking for. Yeah. And so these beautiful Brownstone that are there buildings and a game taken out, and he's like gray boxes come out. You know, Florida selling windmills, which is like dope. But if you want that you go to Gold Coast surf you want the loop, you know, and I think that's kind of amazing about Chicago is that they're so so many of the different neighborhoods have their own visual, DNA rain. So when you take that away, then it's like, oh, we're just all the same city. No matter where you go around the country, and then fill sucky total in, you know, you think it's like Google, or what do you think is like or like some of those companies, I guess, they don't we know like blame it on the big companies because I'm not like someone like that. But like, what do you think it is the Jentzsch probation? That's pushing in Chicago. Oh, I mean, I think it has like routes that go far beyond Google. But like that is all party as well. Right. Like, there's redlining. And there's you know, there was the great white flight was when I moved to the suburbs. And then these people color had to be. These neighborhoods and dealt with a lot of like, really horrible restrictions in terms of how to by buying houses and stuff with themselves in the city becomes cool again and artists firstly moving in. And then the, you know, like a people with money start coming in in the changes the DNA again. So it's something that happens often slip cyclical Tishrin extent, but is up you you almost can't put it on to one thing because associate stomach totally you know, the. Yeah. Racism classism funding. What is the great white flight? I don't know what that is..
