How to embrace awareness

"My friend Sir. This is daily breadth. We are in the first week of our new series total meditation. But it's no transformation is what meditation provides once you embark on the journey. The first step is realizing that awareness in some form is always present. In every moment of our life. Awareness is the backbone of everything we think feel perceive imagined or sense it is awareness that is watching this ceaselessly. And the awareness itself is not judging labeling. That relieved to the mind, the awareness is the observer of the mind itself. So awareness precedes thoughts in modern life, which is built on mental activity. No one has any idea where thoughts come from. Nothing about a brain investigates processing thoughts, feelings, or sensations. But as we wake up, so does the cosmos wake up the notion that human beings we can make the universe wake up it's very interesting notion proposed by many scientists including the physicist David Doors. Who says that it's explanatory process. That gives meaning to the universe and that actually places consciousness. Trenton Center in the creative process, you may have heard from the physicist John, argued Huila, that we live in a participatory universe. In other words, everything that we think is real out there depends on our beliefs, perceptions and observations and interpretations and expecations in here in here, meaning in our own consciousness, not own south.

Best Meditation Practices

"Good Morning. It's Tuesday morning June twenty third. And, I'm be Coney Huila from Blue Lotus in crystal lake. Well. I live in crystal, Lake Illinois, and the temple is in Woodstock Illinois. Out Today is Beautiful Day here. It's been a little stormy. How is how is your place? How are you this morning? How's your mind? Getting enough movement. Enough exercise. I don't think I am I have to work on that harder. Too much sitting at the computer. So today. I wanted to start with a question someone had sent. Asking if which is best one thirty minutes sitting day for your meditation practice. Or doing six. Five minute short meditations during the day. And that's a that's A. It's a good question. It's interesting. I think for some people. When they begin, the five minutes might be all. They feel they they can handle. All, they feel they can sit still for. They may not see. They may not be really committed to. The practice and just trying it out so if that's the case. I'd say try the five minutes as often as you can during the day and see how you feel. But. In terms of The real benefits of meditation I think working towards that thirty minute. Time every day is better for us because we are really then able to begin developing the stillness. The saw Mata the the tranquility our bodies. And the slowing down. And allowing us to then access. The the deeper benefits of meditation. And in the long run that's what will be. That's what will be. really wanting more and more of. But I don't think the five minutes if you can scatter those through your day. And give them a good five minutes. I think that's necessarily bad for everyone I I think. There are a lot of people who might start that way. and. If you're doing that, would wholeheartedly, you'll find pretty soon that you want to sit longer than five minutes because you might just be relaxing. And Ready to sit. When the five minutes is up. But if you've if you've committed your schedule to only having five minutes then. Your body's going to be ready to get up even if you're kind of longing to stay. So if you can only do five minutes do that and do as the. Person asking the question mentioned Stu. It may be six times a day. You can do that at work if you took a five minute break every couple of hours and you were able to sit somewhere. But really make your goal to be the thirty minutes because I think that's where the real benefits from our practice will show up in our lives, and the practice practice for herself of moving beyond just the. Surface, but really down into see. What's going on with us in accessing? Accessing deeper. Deeper parts of us. Okay. But that's a great question. What are we doing in the world? He stays at so up in the air. Right into. There's so many questions. I have a an upcoming retreat I'm really feeling. I have really mixed messages about that and. Having have to make a decision today doing it or not, and this one I'm one of the leaders for so it makes a big. It's a big. It's a big decision. And I, know individuals make their own decision about going, but I realized that this is what we're being faced with more and more as things open up. But not very well being opened up. We're in stage four now in the in this part of Illinois. So. We're we have more access to places that were still being. Really encouraged where mask into social distance and we, we see the statistics at all over the world. The numbers are rising again. And we have to make lots of decisions and. Hopefully make the right decision, so that may be a more conservative decision than we'd like to make sometimes. we may not be. There may not be a heavy weight of the majority behind us, but remember we have to. Follow the path. That were laying out for ourselves. We have to be true to what we. Honestly, see going on in the world. And evaluating that. And once in a while. Someone will remind me that you know I'm in that. I'm thinking about other people and then someone. Usually. My daughter will remind me that I'm in I'm old I'm in the high risk area. I'm one of the. Just because of my age. And then they're probably some you know. Some other things that are combined with the age, but just my age puts me into that category of I need to be really

"And it's there's a there's a lot of of dry humor, which he is really good at. But I I have always enjoyed him. A while back. He end Joan array did a television show on comedy central called live at meltdown. And it was the the meltdown comics in California is kind of infamous for being this comic book shop and having this really tiny area. Where people started doing stand up, and when I say tiny, I'm talking about not much larger than my living room, and they would do a live show, and that was wonderful because. Yeah, get more Camille. And I love Joan array too. So it was win win. And they would just showcase up and coming stand up comedians that we may be had never seen or heard of before. And I was really sad that that showed did not continue because. Really enjoyed it. And I just. I don't know. I just like him as a person and I like his comedy. So I was very happy to see he was going to be in this now Shamiya, he's not a great comedian. Unlike you know, Camille, he's he's not a great comedian. And he's so the stands there the best he gets his maybe a couple of chuckles out of his audience. So it's it's amazing that he's been through. And if a five years, and he's in this club to be honest because he's he's not great at it. But then he meets at JC Huila who is an interesting character because the sorts of portraying him as a successful stunned up who kind of vanished off the scene. So it's almost as if you know is this the real JC, we let what is this some twilight zone kind of being a whatever, you know, who who is passing on the twilight zone elements. You know, have you got any thoughts about that? That I think the answer to both questions is. Yes, my personal feeling is that it is the actual JC Wheeler and he disappeared when he had nothing left to give up. Right. And so he was absorbed into the twilight zone in now is it's vehicle for drawing. More people into the situations kind of testing their medal as it. It could be said what will you give up for success? What will you give up for people to think, you're funny, it's cetera. And so I think that he is the real one and also the twilight zone at the same time, brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Okay. That cements on in my head. Now. I I look alike..

"Okay. Let's get into all up owed of the night. Then when we take a look at the comedian first broadcast on the first of April twenty nineteen written by Alex Rubens and directed by our n- Harris Sameeh were on stuns open night after night trying to sell his comedy routine to disinterested audience while he thinks his comments of biting commentary on the hot topics of the day. His routine is solely locking insight. Most importantly of all laughs after an account with JC Huila respect to comedian who seemingly fell out of the limelight Samir decides to introduce aspects of his own personal life into his routine. Two great affect the audience starts lapping it up and Somme becomes her property on the comedy scene. The problem is that any aspect of his own experiences study brings to his routine disappear from existence and the tapestry of his life begins to unravel now before we get into the the app so proper brand couple of interest and creative people involved with this written by Alex Rubens now often they'll be creative people on the twilight zone because I grew up in England I won't necessarily have been exposed to Alex Rubens wrote community. He's a writer, Rick and Morty. So this is one I really do know about. So, you know, your fan of those shows I am not the biggest fan of Ricken Morny. It's not really my brand of humor. But I love community. It's probably my favorite for lack of a better word sitcom of all time. I abs-. Bentley adored, although parks and recreation is also really up there. But yeah, I loved unity. So I I recognized his name immediately thought. Oh, well, at least it got someone who knows comedy this episode. Of course, they would. I mean, I should give them credit for that. Obviously. They're not gonna have just anybody. Right. A comedy episode about well with the vehicle of stand up comedy. So creative person is an is. I actually think he's a Brit. This episode looks beautiful. I think. He is actually the director of probably my favorite episode of black mirror now. I know you don't watch black metal brandy or don't give seeing book I've seen one episode. And that was enough for me to know that it was not for me. Okay. Well, if I may offer pleas a sen- kind of perspective on that. I know the episode you talking about the first episode, and I, you know, I'm no prude or anything like that. It seemed to me to be needlessly trying to be provocative. It's into forced. You know what I mean? And it's ironic, I suppose I've seen that criticism leveled at this vision of the twilight zone for using bad language, but the first episode of black mirror. If feels like they wanted to shock and put something out there, and it did seem before st- and it kinda tan me off to it. But Owen how? Harris is the director of an episode called Sanjin appear. Oh, that's the one. Everyone keeps telling me that I should watch. It's one it's one of the most beautiful on Lifton pieces of television. But I've seen for years, and I think black mirror. It started with that episode. But it just didn't continue that way. It's sorta dropped off. It was like let's try and be needlessly. Controversial and and shock people, but then not seen to immediately drop off. Now, it's been a depressant show to honest the marathon of because you just feel terrible at the end of the day, you know, sunshine appear..

"How do you feel about all the points out there? Yeah. You go. You want your splash clue about baron Allen for the following Huila? Matt Dino name. Oh. Sea World and sprays. You that's a hideous trade. I'm sorry. That is hideous. D'arno? Frazier can give the Canadians players that nobody wants to be on the team control like Wheeler, right or guys that are worthy of dare. I say one of the best pitchers in all baseball. Like Corey kluber guy was on the all star team last year. And Mr. Bauer we head to Staten Island at hopefully, a return to sanity when I could buddy IRA what's up by. Hey, Chris JJ what's going on? Nothing like she did put she icing on top of the cake. I said that earlier I did. It's amazing. It's so hard to believe, you know, you wanna see certain young players. You know, you just kinda evaluating talent. Now announce kids could have four games, and you know, just I just can't believe how the way to season is played itself out. I don't even know what to take Donald these next four games because he's working with. Well. And you know, this is this is entire coaching staff is going to be gone. You're going to have an offensive minded head coach, I hope and pray in twenty nineteen. But I'm sorry. I want Donald out there because you have to go to New England in the future. Quit cold weather games in the future. I want Sam Donald over these final four weeks getting that experience. No, I I totally agree with you. But I don't want to get people calling up. Well, or you're not going to be what they make him out to be because how you going to judge when he has not been around into work. You can't prevent that. Those calls will come just as you fear and they're meaningless. Players who could who could play here, especially. But in pro sports in general need to be able to shake it off, whatever the negativity is out there, you will rise above that negatively if you are worth it. And if you are well coached and your organization backs you and your teammates back you everybody goes through tough times. Nobody is immune. Nobody can prevent it from happening if they want to succeed at whatever they're doing. So it's a public life. It's difficult to be a first year guy. I think the thing jet fans should probably most occurred about is. It's clear to me. Anyway, Sam darnold will not fail because he couldn't make New York. No, it's fine. The new doesn't bother him. And I don't think the criticism notion that you know, in a first year you're going to be defined look at Jared Goff Jared Goff in his first year. He couldn't play he was being poorly coached Fisher, they were wasting girly. That wasting Garth the following year. Chris. Jared goff. Look at the Rams. Yeah. It's unbelievable offensive machine because he was being properly coached. I'm not saying Sam darnold now is going to be a top five quarterback in the league. I have to see more. I understand that. But to have this narrative that it's seinfield delivered can't play splashing out sets summers at the bottom of the hour. We'll take a few more phone calls before we get to.
