"Hey as movie as Harley Quinn in case you didn't know but I feel like anyone who's a fan of Harley Quinn and recognizes this would have. I'm known that they would have been aware of this fact. Because it isn't like this was a secret it was marketed movie was it is marketed as well as it should have been. I'm not I'm not certain I I do think I prefer the long title. This long stupid title over Harley Quinn Birds of prey. They did it because they said. Leo We gotTA WE GOTTA use the biggest Superhero Property in this movie. It's Harley Quinn and we got to put that in the title in hopes that people will see that and go to the movie obviously I don't know if this movie will have legs hopefully it will Because I do think it is. It deserves to be performing better than it is. I don't think it deserves to to fail because I don't WanNA discouraged. You know things like this from being made but at the same time. It's I get didn't seem like that. That seems like you're putting a band aid over a gaping leg wound but a small minions band-aid small small little hastily drawn a crude suicide squad. Like Smiley face Hello Kitty Betty. boop embedded you ever understand Betty boop Nike released a brand new line smoke show of we center. I mean there's a very a very like Buji Nordstrom that opened up an in Manhattan by Columbus Circle in Central Park in the Nike store. That's it's a very fancy women's Nike store And half of the products are betty boop Nike things. Fuck is buying the trust that Betty boop say she'll she'll double cross ya most action. She sauce tour. To fucking bombers merce Betty boop or signature oversized head the original funk. Pop can you go back doc on twitter. Just tweet that police Betty boop the original come on that can't be the one that come back it'd be you know I tweet that just in quotes yes that can be are the episode. The picture of her head. So do you want to roll right into into the birds of prey. So here's the thing birds of prey. We'll talk about it now. It's open season on Harley Quinn when her explosive break up with the joker puts a big fat targets to the Weirdest Synopsis. Read Big Fat target on her back unprotected and on the run Quinn faces the wrath of narcissistic crime boss black mask Played by Hugh McGregor his his right hand man and every other thug in the city but things soon even out for Harley when she becomes unexpected allies with three deadly women hunters black canary in renee and aim on Toyah when she got it becomes becomes allies with four people that get into the movie Yes Stars Margo Rally. Mary Elizabeth winstead. He says Journeys Phillip Bell. You McGregor handful of other people aircon is kind of character actors Again did not perform all that well at the box office. Actually I would say performed pretty not great at the box office. I the beginning of this movie. I've I've very photo group that I cannot. We're not gonNA talk about. But I just as blacklisted blood photo. You asshole very funny. I did not like the beginning of this movie. I thought it was a mess. There's a point point in this movie. We're kind of resets things and it almost felt like the beginning a waste of time It's very bizarre. It's bizarrely put together. I think it looks awesome. The Look of the movies very cool. I think it's colorful it. POPs it fits the character. I think that I think that Margot Robbie is great as Harley Quinn. She's fantabulous she's tablets. The problem with this movie is that I I I don't think the villain I don't supporting characters are all that great. I think trill disliked black mask more than I do because I like I like how he was. I like you McGregor's performance. There's a scene and this isn't spoiling the scene. where he's on a couch and he's getting Botox and I think the the way? He Acts Nesting. This great. Like I love how angry he gets I. I love his performance the character and he's a terribly written character. No one in. This movie is fleshed out except Harley Quinn and I it just feels weird. There's a lot of this is like there's a lot of that. I think that's funny. I don't think it's bad. I don't think it's all that good like for example recent DC you. I don't think it's anyone. Here's because alkyl man it's as good as Suzanne and. I think that's a bummer. Because I would actually say Moravians Harley Quinn is better than billy Batson From Zachary Levi and memo is I think she's very very good. I think this is is not the best vehicle and I don't know what went into it. I don't know about re-shoots and things that are changed at the beginning of movie kind of sets weird tone. It almost like a waste because it could've established much more than a did and could fleshed out even black master because all we really have the knowing about him again. It's not a spoiler. We talk about trailer. Is he just luck in bad dude cuts faces off right and I just I think black mask. I was surprised to watch this movie after reviews come out when people say black mask was awesome awesome and I was like. I don't know about that black mask was I. I didn't score. I'm sorry I I I should. I should get my score my scarf. This movie I I've I've I've kind of gone back and forth because I really don't dislike it but I'm GonNa have to land on I'm GonNa go with With a sixty eight. Sixty eight I I'm I'm I met a tough place. 'cause I'm kind of with you. So there are parts of this movie that really dragged but I will say some of the better action sequences from any of the DC movies that the prison fight in the water. I thought was really slick. I love the powder bean bags or the exploding Greenbury cool And and that was like the cool thing they did with the movie that felt suicide squatty but differentiated a little bit. Because I think it was you know not a total shit movie. I'm like suicide squad is that they really use the color Palette of Harley Quinn in the actual movie itself felt Laker least the this DC extended a universe version of Harley Quinn with the the red in the pink and the Blue Explosions looks like Casey. Musk rose album. Cover I it was really cool. I I mean I thought those action sequences were really need. The problem was is is outside of Harley Quinn I didn't think they did a good job. Job of characterizing the other characters I cared about a- The hunters I I was really stoked for the hunters. I don't felt I like the I don't feel like the hunters got enough attention in the story Certainly not as much as I felt. CASSANDRA CAIN got which. I didn't like that character as much as I think like the hunters. Just one hundred has a crossbar. Whatever like I get why the character needs to be in there and it was fine and then I thought Black Canary was fine to like I dot? She was probably one of the more fleshed out supporting characters in this movie because she was given a lot of the screen time and she did a good job with it but that turns us over to what you're saying about black mask didn't have a problem with you McGregor. Before he put on the mask any put on the mask and I was supposed to take him seriously as a villain after he. Just I see you almost played it like just as ego typical Over the top a piece of Shit Guy. Now I'm supposed to be like physically imposed by him and his thugs like it kind of felt like you knew the birds of prey. We're GONNA wash them. I thought they did a good job of making that in fight. Feel very of intriguing but ultimately you never really felt this is the way I always feel about these. DC movies you never feel like they're really stakes on the line because you always feel like they put in these dorkcast billons who you know. They're just GONNA trample trample over and to be fair to marvel movies. That was a lot of the marvel movies. Were that way too. I think that's probably the hardest part about making a comic book movie right but put like mask. It's you know it's a complete for outside the movie. I probably I've gone up the more I thought about it. I think part live. It was after I watched it. I felt like a based on the reviews. It was going to be great. I felt like it was going to be off of what I was seeing. And then I went in and watched it and it felt felt like it was a sixty five for bay which is not a horrible score by any mark. But I really felt like this was going to be the one that was going to Kinda like. Get me onto like like okay like they can make these. DC movies now and they're getting better make no no. There's no doubt they're getting better at doing these. Like this was one of the better wants to date but there just was something. They're missing by way of the story. He got this bullshit. I mean just they need any story involving a fucking diamond like anything involving a diamond. Can we not do to a God damn diamond anymore. Ever just I'm on board. Okay am that basically becoming okay like yeah find the diamond and that leads you to this character character and protect the character and that does have some development for Harlequin which was fine but ultimately you felt like Felt like the movie was a set up for something else which which is what. It was But I think like e because of that you ran into this conundrum where it's like you give more screen time. Creamed named screen time to this explosive..

Moravians Harley Quinn Betty boop merce Betty boop Hugh McGregor Black Canary DC Mary Elizabeth winstead Leo twitter Nike Margot Robbie Phillip Bell Kitty Betty. Buji Nordstrom Manhattan Columbus Circle Harlequin Suzanne CASSANDRA CAIN

"Some are costumes. We're kind of weird. Bustling slide retro and some yeah like almost like eighty s retro. There was one time I thought she was. One of those old jumpsuits as my mom used to say she's wearing a black plastic trash bag to exercise in our like. Ma Do these to your wardrobe But you know I thought it was. Actually that was pretty cool to be honest with you is very much so like retro but still kind of like with a really cool modern fashion forward vibe so very fashion forward. Everybody's costs rose. Hugh McGregor Gregor Hughes. Having a blast he was seen he played Romaine very well like I told you Romans a very brutal you kind of person. I think he brought a and I loved the The almost like split it personality. ESCA vibe of his character and dichotomy it was like one second he was like this very sweet and kind of seemingly nice person. You know very very fun person and the next second key flipped a switch and he was just cutthroat psychotic yes he could smile now and you know kill someone at the same time you know some of the some of the ways they move in the film and directed certain things was Romulo boondock saints the way they did some of the time line stuff too much away spoilers but I mean is definitely worth watching. Please check it out support it and also also you know this is how you doing. All female movie was fantastic. You know I think sometimes they WanNa do all female movie. I don't WanNA sell stupid saying this. They make it like kind of cheesy and for lack of a better term right now. That's late at night early right if you like. They wanted to go taking like. Oh we're going to take this person. Everyone enjoy it but just be females and then but then they make it. He's like you say like cheesy and you're like okay. I'm not even enjoying because there's just there's there's not a vibe they're removes our like Manley Maye and there's moves that are like for everyone to have dies. Cast any kind of thing but this was like that it was a movie for the work was all women. But you didn't even care or focus on the fact that it was all women with the whole Female ghostbusters thing. That was just so kind of like an opposite of this movie. And what you're talking about where it wasn't necessarily girly but it was just I very in your face femininity what. There's nothing wrong with that but it's kind of took it to a cheesy level whereas this was very much so like I walked out added the theater. And you know my subconscious self was just like I'm ready to kick some but you know I was ready to go fight right like train yet. Who Do I train with can do this at home? Does Youtube have a how to video on these. It's it's the same kind of thing where like they wanted to do. The Oceans Moonville off female oceans. Nothing wrong with that. I felt that movie kind of walks. The line it does walk the line and it's also a different genre comedy almost tips to being cheesy but it stays positive you know. Aw Goes I think that was just it was like they were all women but they pushed it. That it's all women. It's interesting that we're just going to do with lemon. Okay women it's women and women like okay. I I love that the the subtlety of this like as far as that goes honestly it impacted me more as like I said like I walked on convene proud in some aspects Cocco. I enjoyed it. And you know like you and I've talked before. I have a hard time. Sometimes when they get these women female all characters and they try to tell me that they're bad ass you know they're trying to tell me that they're these awesome but kickers. I don't believe it this movie. I believe every one of those key word did what they could do. I mean Franken was promptly I. I very much enjoyed her. I had no expectations for. I had not seen her anything that I know of. I like the character so I had no expectations for her. And I walked out very thoroughly addressing addressing. But I don't know I'm trying to say it's getting late. I very much enjoyed her portrayal. The character in this movie is very much a is a start of the birds of prey sprinkles. The seats does us for sure. You know it's not over him not trying to be anything more as I said. It's very interesting that it's dealing with Harley Quinn with the birds of prey or something they're like slip in the background and I would like to see a sequel be like the birds of prey versus Gotham city. Sirens burs on things based on where this movie goes and it was really enjoyable. Spoil anything other than you'll have a good time it is it is our. It does take advantage of the R rating. And I mean that's all for now we'll we'll talk more when we can actually spoil the crap out of this. Emily breaks it down tonight. Everybody so that was Geneva. Kenya is quick reference. Look forward to hearing our thoughts as we do a full spoiler movie review with the rest of the crew here soon and remember look up in the sky and sadly superman wasn't in this movie or mentioned..

"Okay so tonight since. We're actually doing this on a just kind of the same time really. You know you're not used to. I'm not you're seeing the movie. Yeah Eh so yeah we just we both literally just got out of this movie. I usually watch it a lot earlier than I normally do. So I'm like this. It's kind of like weird for me now. You get to know what it feels like. I know the process it in like ten minutes. I know so. We're going to be reviewing Stephen King's new movie Dr Sleep which is basically A. I guess you'd say the sequel to the shining. Yeah so what what is it that takes place. What thirty forty years later Something like that. Yeah it's about right so eighties so I I guess before really getting into this movie what what's going on with these type of older. You know horror movies is like are they trying to do reboots. It's like how it did it. I mean I know we just had it chapter but I mean it was. kind of a reboot They brought what was it last year. Pet Cemetery Ho and Halloween Halloween. To make a soft soft reboot that was actually a true sequel to the first one kind of thing. Yeah well this one is actually A true sequel. Because Stephen King wrote the book as a sequel so It's not well it's not really even a soft reboot. I mean they kind of maybe hint at that. But I think it's a direct sequel because I mean the main character. The main protagonist is from the first movies Danny grownup Danny Torrance just grown so. Yeah I'd say hey this is a direct sequel. Well so getting into kind of starting to get into this movie you know I I sat there and y you know we watched it. I kinda star. I kinda liked the hell. The beginning started off. Yeah I really liked how they got into the film film. Yeah they picked a lot of good actors and actresses to kind of instead of doing a lot of technology type de aging being in stuff. They just got actors and actresses that looked pretty decently close to like Jack Nicholson Forgetting the MOMS the actress that played the mom's name but in who played. Danny those are all really good lookalikes and they did a pretty decent job right right. And and some of those actors are that of our in here Mar You know big actor big name. Oh yeah there's some big new like you hugh McGregor yeah What's what's her name? Rebecca Ferguson and shopping in a couple recent. Pretty good movies Yes using using a hobson. Shaw no wait no I take that back. I'm thinking she was in a mission. Impossible mission impossible. She was in to mission impossible movies right and she was in Greatest showman he's been in a lot of big stuff so you know she's no she's not new. Yeah I would say this is probably her her her biggest role in the sense the most screen time I would think yeah where she was kind of like had a kind of big part. Yeah I was we. Were just kind of discussing that. The people that have not seen the shining. Yeah I I I almost kind of feel like in this is just my opinion but almost feel like are they really going to understand it or they kinda like what is going on. I think they will be thrown into a world. That is a little confusing if they haven't seen the shining The because some of the mythology some of the things that like the shining itself what it is the thing that Danny has and is able to do. You won't really know what what that is and how it originated and where how he found out about it All of these things who the the Butler guy is that revisits him kind of that would not make any sense to you if you haven't seen the shining so yeah I think they they definitely didn't away from making this very like a direct sequel very important to see the first movie or or have read. The books looks exactly because they don't they don't get like Kinda do a so called. Flashback to Kinda help you out. Yeah they don't baby you know they they. They're basically expecting you to know what's going on. Yeah and it may throw you off if it's something if you haven't seeing the shining in a long time where it took me a while during the movie to kind of calm in a way get caught up. So if you're sitting in there are you going. Are you going and thinking too much like I was trying to figure out and remember stuff or in not really sit there and try to enjoy the movie itself Because I didn't it is horror movie but I don't think it was like super super scary. Harry is a there is a you know it's dark. Yeah it's dark. I think there was several very chilling moments. That really got under under my skin like that. I just was like Oh like I didn't like what I was seeing but in a good way like the Well because the trailers they the Danny is he finds this other girl that shines where she fighting him. Yeah and so. They're kind of they. They notice that there's these people that are kind of feeding on people that shine and so their their mission is running away but as as you know they feed on people to show that shine and the the trailer show that and so One of those scenes. I think you know what I'm talking about with a baseball player. That was probably. Yeah that really got under my skin and was probably the one of the creepiest. That was kind of. That's kind of tough and I can see that being a disturbing disturbing scene for some people especially some of the younger ones. And if you're not if you're kind of curious I can give you an example of like what the like these other people feeding. Thank think of it like this if it's easier because it's kind of it's it's still newer yes not like Cannibal as well. No but here here. I'm going to give an example because these movies are a little newer and a lot of people understand Harry Potter. Think of like the death eaters. Yeah exactly will that would that kind of suck out those soul the happiness or whatever all the good feelings feelings yeah. Yeah that's exactly so thought to Kinda give you as close to an example as I can of what these what. These people do. Yeah it's not like graphic eating right shoulder and see like it's like there. The air like leaving their mouth kind of like in a way like you see in in Harry Potter like the death years where you see that stuff coming. Yeah so that's kind of what I would compare it to. It looks a lot like that. So that maybe maybe that would help some people out. Try to understand and I mentioned the The what's her name. Rebecca Ferguson BECO- Ferguson. She played a rose. She wears this she almost kind of like a voodoo witch doctor. kind of kind of what. She ended up the group. She's with is Pretty Coltish. Yeah they're very a cultist shacks Li like so you get a lot of those co vibes. Yeah which I didn't know coming into it like how that was going to work. Click what that group was gonna look like and I really like how they they did that. The the thing that surprised me about it was how not to get too much into it but how they had to take the breath away like the things they had to do to get the breath. Yes that's what was kind of so alarming. You know like how how long they let the camera stay on the scene as well. I thought you know they do a couple of things and pull away but no that they kind of just let you sit there awhile and experience just like the The girl is having to experience it so and almost kind of forget and I thought it was going to be more of an important thing but the the blonde girl the snake bite abby or whatever her name was Andy or snake binding. Yeah she was recruited and I thought she was going to have more of a bigger role than she did and it just seemed like she uses recruited did and it was just like just another follower. Yeah I would say had a special ability Kinda why but it seemed but I think it also also showed kind of how the group did things they were trying to explain like. It was helping show what they do. kind of Yeah But yeah I I agree. They they made you they definitely set it up like it was going to be a pretty big thing but It didn't and didn't and so and you know how do you think the flow of the movie itself because this movie was what To two hours almost two and a half hours right I think so I got to say right up there Let's see what we got here. You know what though hang on. 'cause mine yeah I have the show hours thirty minute so I have on our main thing. We have one hundred sixty see two minutes. So that's adding ten minutes of Previews and stuff so one hundred fifty two so two half hours. You know. That's what we got for this movie and to be honest you could feel it. I didn't I really yeah Maybe that's the difference. It's of me seeing the shining probably more recently the new probably But Yeah I thought this movie was really fast like not not in a bad way but I was like in tune to everything I was watching the whole time. I never had a board moment. I I never well. I thought they did do the story like you know how they kept it going. It wasn't like there was a whole lot of dead downtime downtime on it so so I like that part and you know they kind of it kind of ran pretty smooth for much entire movie and they didn't have anything that really was just like didn't make a whole lot of sense. Did that really need to be in there. Like everything that was shown own is like was fairly important. I felt so I thought that they added a lot of character character development and there are a lot of things that if the run time wasn't as long you wouldn't have felt the way you did for certain characters like I. I thought I can't remember his name. cliff curtis. He plays billy. Yeah I thought that he did a phenomenal nominal job I. I wasn't expecting his role to be as you know as big as it was But it impacted me I thought he did a great job. you and McGregor obviously did a phenomenal job and him in that the girl.

"Feel like this is the thing that comes with doing these movies and depot. We talk about this when we talk about comics comics right in the thing about comics in with all the History of Commons copyright. Or are you told like treat every comic like hit. Somebody's first. You GotTa do that right. You gotta even with all the history of care to go back to the sixties and go back to the forty s you have to act like take every comic. If somebody's I there has to be an easily traceable line back to the beginning and this it doesn't have that so if you're a hardcore signing venue understand this you can probably pick up some of the things I'd be really interested in hearing from people who aren't familiar with the shining raining and I didn't read the book but didn't wash. Their movies had no idea and literally Hopton. Because they're like Arman Gregor Fan Rebecca Ferguson. Fan Dan or there was a young black girl in this film. So I WANNA go see the film like I'd be really interested in knowing how those who will photos film again. I think I think those who are actually really really really enjoy because like what you were saying the beginning most of this film you can get around with was not knowing anything about the shining but then you get in your just like what the fuck re talking. How come all right now? What is going? I don't understand this piece. It doesn't make any sense to me because in almost forty years ago so okay okay so this is another thing. I walked away from this movie wondering because it is humor McGregor so I can't help but not make a star Star Wars connection at some point. I was trying to figure out his Hugh McGregor Obi Wan in this or is he choir gone in this Like because it's such a mixture. I feel like I feel like there's there's things that he does that don't billy make sense. And then there are ways to play with his character that are very star wars. The Very Obi Wan I just you know I didn't know I would just perplexed flex thinking about it right. I'm just GonNa like which one is he. Is He in this. I think more OBI one in I think more one on the book but in the movie they they had a main quiet quiet on yeah. That's what I that's what I felt like. I was like he's supposed to be obese. I feel light but he does a lot of things in this and you know ultimately me. It's not like that's why I was more leaning toward so look at this and I think that Humor Gregor is a great actor I think did he is wasted here and Gets because I don't feel like they knew where to carry the story of Danny Torrance outside of he grew up and he had to deal with basically googly. PTSD from Overlook Hotel and things. That happened to him so they handle they give him that character and give him that story arc. And that's fine but the real the real shining pair. Here is Rebecca Ferguson. And the young actress that plays Alley Kyla Ella currently Current who plays opera. Yeah he's a beast that that young that young lady is a monster at acting in her demeanor her facial expression like she brings such a strong black girl. Magic just presents to this to this film in a very. I am not the one from film not not the one second film did second field multiple time like her confidence in this film should be should be jarred insult. Yeah because it is great and in Rebecca Ferguson. Just I think she had this. Did this range of her with her character where you see her. Go from feeling super overconfident. Confident to feeling super fearful and understanding the fear that she'd been putting into people having to live that right. I feel like all of the other characters who wasted. I feel like the young girl that we we get introduced in the very beginning. And we'll see what her holy these are completely wasting. You wasted. Emily yeah they they used her. I don't even know what the term is for what they used use her for but basically she's like a prop the introduce you to this being to this young lady in a very mister robot first episode fashion and she's very dope with our powers. You find out how old she is which is very surprising because actions did not look that old and then they just kind how to throw her into the background they use her instead of using her to develop her story instead of instead of using her as a foe for abby which would in perfect Gio of Aker Ferguson? Because now you really ask them star worship going on you've got to subside fucking Rebecca Ferguson. And this young lady and you got the the the jet I side with literally be one in fucking it works perfectly that they have these two new characters that are showing their sense sense of the shining. It's a pit them together and we can get the back history not only on what's going on with these creatures but also what's going on with the because because remember it 'cause remember Danny was the one that shines super hard like he was the neo but now labral is a whole `nother the level of shining and we don't get a full explanation as to how that's determined or why that is any type of understanding of the true essence essence behind the ability to shine. And I if you read the book that's fine but this is a film and people are not reading the book before they go see this film so if the film doesn't convey eight or explain that you can't be like well it said in the booker it's like I'm not a fan of that because there's a whole two hour and thirty minute film here to head the time to do well I definitely want. I can't wait until we get into more than sports. Talk more about this. But I'll say this. I saw him become a been Are Really Big Rebecca Ferguson Fan. In any way but like I really love very ferguson. In here's the thing I think he's greatness film but and I think it's it just as a whole her and the true not they're always did because you don't get enough about them like her presence on screen and her being the lead she she gets more and so she's there until I definitely get people feel Nice. She's wasted but overall I feel like they're all wasted because we don't get enough about who the true not are in what we get little bits and pieces of it. But I'm like they have their own like we'll talk more than in the spoiler but they have their own own history and they've been around for a while and you're just like well that's there's so much you can deal with though I I I wanna know more about them. It's like hey let's go back to what I was saying before. It's like I feel like Stephen King creates like these really really involved moved in in in deep in detailed worlds. You really just can't do them in two hours you can't you need to make them little mini series. Like I am Magin. This would have been fantastic as a six episode Amazon series. But we've already seen what Mike Flanagan he can do. Episodes Yeah Yeah I think that right there would have been to bring it back here and we'll talk more on on this weather. I think that this is a this is a fine film. You're GONNA watch it. You're going to enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with it is long. I feel like you're going to. I feel like you probably could have done without about fifteen twenty minutes. I truly believe that another reason why I believe Stephen King's Work should not be made into movies. Because I feel like once you get into a two hour and thirty minutes for a horror film kind of gone a little bit too far but like I said I feel like a lot of people might end up walking out feeling like they could. There could have been more definitely could have been more and beard to say for a film that has so much shitting. You'd has so much stuff in it and yet you still feel like there should have been more uh-huh yeah what would you this film out at ten and it's it's a seven and a half additon. I'm you know I'm being generous because it. It does some beautiful things on screen even theater. We were in where to screen the super dark I think going to see this. Like AMAC's or just in a nice screen on a nice ice cream period at a nice theater. Make sure it's a comfortable ask theater because you're GONNA be there for two and a half hours. I think it's GonNa look amazing. I think the performances again from the young lady who plays Abby from Rebecca Ferguson despite the lack of plot for Rebecca Ferguson. It's character and a lot. The plot here that does not make sense like at all. They're like Hugh McGregor. A lot of his plight makes absolutely no fucking sense despoilers despoilers we can get into it but it it absolutely completely falls apart and I'm dislike. I don't know why we're doing any of this they they. We spent more time on traveling to the to the past shining. Then they actually spent in the shining. I felt like for this sport. Oh there's a lot there's a lot of I call it. The Lord of the rings were you just see them traveling someplace. I'm like really COULDA cut. That's a good ten minutes right there. We probably could cut out of the film we we we we. We had two hours and twenty minutes right there. You just cut out that those those travel seen. That's right there could've could've got a down the F.. Seven and a half sleeves out of ten. It works for me at seven am only at a seven come. I'm I'm I'm with you. We quality wise. I probably would have been having a half. I'm only out of seven because I feel like it's too long like even with everything else going on. They cut out about fifteen minutes of this. I probably around seven and a half. I want you to over two because again. It's two hours and thirty one minutes zero over two hours and two and a half hours ask just too much of a film is too much is too much and let me see. I'm curious to see what was left on the cutting room floor. This all that it'd be a lot in this movie is long You here here's complaining about how long it is yet yet. I KINDA WANNA director's cut it. Cut some stuff you know it did. Yeah they cut a lot of stuff and I want to see the director's cut for this. Yeah so I'm trying to see so yes so I had to boy. I had to two hours and thirty minute films this week. I had four versus Ferrari as well that that'd interview be next week Attack last night I was on Monday. That's our hope. I think four verse Ferrari does a better job of of handling the pace so they is two hours and thirty minutes but you. You don't feel like there's any any downtime. I feel that. There's a lot of downtime in in in doctor in doctor sleep in their stuff you could cut. I feel like I like four to our thirty minutes. Earn Eye Doctor Sleep for for the film they put out no but if they I I'm with you I would really like to see what they did. Cut Out because I feel like this film. Probably Uncut is probably about three hours and thirty minutes long. I completely believe you about four. Ferrari hailing pacing. I mean one. It's a movie about fast cars and the trailer for that is so much better than a trailer L. A. for Dr Sleep despite the they're two completely different dramas in two different types of films one of those trailers so that film out and the other one I was kind of laying. I mean he's Gotten Christian Bale and Matt Damon de other so just like come on come on come on come on come on come on anyway. All right folks like I said we've been doing this. We won't we do for the view. 'cause I know Brandon. I got a lot of talk about on this side. So if you are a premium member head over there are you will hear us talk about Dr Sleep there. "Peres's tries a bitter from a cult known as the true not who prey on Who Prey on children? Power remain immoral. There's obviously based off the sequel to the shining. Stephen King wrote a belief. You wrote voted in the Twain. Two thousand nine or two thousand thirteen. I don't know why have both those day to my only find out twenty thirteen so his book the actual sequel came out in two thousand thirteen They move off of it and stars. Hugh Hugh McGregor Rebecca Ferguson. Who Plays Labral Kelly? Curran plays our stone and and Good for now would you wanna I mean ultimately for me is like does it is it just is a good enough because I'm just worried about every time they do. Stephen King adaptation at this point especially they have to pet cemetery and while it the first chapter work it chapter to like literally drained from my mind since we've seen it. I've really don't have any interest to see it again so I was kinda worried about. Dr Sleep was going to go and I wasn't really impressed by the trailers for this Some one it it it it had this thing where it kept. I felt like the lodge which I don't know if that's a film that a lot of people who've seen a trailer for her because they couldn't even get up release date established for that I feel like the lodge and this trailer for Dr Sleep with alternate at screenings for me and I always taught the largest trailer was much better and I saw I saw when I saw Dr Sleep trailer and you see like the the room turn upside down and you and McGregor Gregor slides into the wall. I'm just like I don't know about this. I don't know how I'm GonNa feel about this movie. Also I haven't read the shining yet so I don't or have I don't know if this is going to be a direct playoff the film or if they wait laid off you mean you mean the shining or you mean the actual doctor sleep book. No I hadn't read it. I hadn't read the shining yet I hadn't. I didn't even know Dr Sleep was an actual book. I thought that they were just kind of gun Ho in in doing a sequel to Various damaged property of Stephen King's I didn't think Doctor Sleep was actually a book until I did some research last week and saw that it was and I was like. Oh it's an actual look I can get on audible. This kind of wish robotic. I know she probably already had row row read. We don't we do read but I made the mistake and we'll talk more about this on this. I made the mistake of reading the For the from the book. And so so let me get to the point and let me just say. I don't dislike this film. I think there is a better film here. I think they took sue films. Any smashed them together. I think that this film ultimately will get the job done for most people to go to see it. I think the critics on rotten tomatoes. It's like a favorable seventy four percent out of one hundred I. I think that's accurate and I also think that this is the one of the first films have seen. I'll say this year because I haven't really sat and thought about this before but I think this I films I've seen that it was blatantly obvious yet. Still confusing that. There's a fourth act and I'm I'm so baffled by how that affects the way the story plays out because there's so much stuff here that is interesting resting and very well done and then there's other stuff here that I feel like his filler. But I don't know exactly what it's Filler for what it's filling early in or why you would ever want to waste time doing it at all because the film's law it's not short. It's a two hour and thirty minute. The film it is. I'm going to say for the for what we get is unnecessary long. It does not need to be to our thirty one minute. Yes so I mean that's how I feel your thoughts on this same year. So so I I I. I saw the director. Mike Flanagan directed at. I know that name from somewhere. Couldn't figure out what it was and then I hit me. He did the haunting of Hill House on kyw noise. Seen his name somewhere and I was like I. I know he's done some so I also did so. He's done good films in. I'll say from my direction point of view with the screenplay that they have I think I I it's fine directing wise I it's it's up to that quality also though he wrote the screenplay and having read the Synopsis For the Book at The plus for the book. I gotta say sometimes. Especially when you're doing Stephen King stuff just do that. I mean it's like he's Stephen King just to that like it's and the reason why I but but I also think that the Stephen King movies movies based off of Stephen King books is that. I'm not sure that film is the best place for and I say that because there's so much stuff in them that you need to show and you just can't do it into our thirty minutes like I think I'm with you like overall. The film is fine. I think we're going to enjoy it. I think I think that You know around seven seventy percent mark is good for it. I think we're I'm where I'm I come down on is there is a better film there. There's a much better film. There were much more rich history in there Because they had to leave so much on the focused his movies two hours and thirty minutes long and I still feel like we didn't get enough of certain characters in certain background right and I think that we would have gotten it but because this is this is not even technically is shining in religious shining. They had to put a lot of that in there as well tie in like me and you talked about this when we left was like you end. There's a whole thing that really. He's like heavily like if you didn't know this ties of the shining before this it's hate you over the head repeatedly by the end of the film and I think that to me. We'll talk more about this in the review to me. That part right there was probably the worst part of the film. It's so heavy handed and that's what I mean by fourth at the it's it's just it's Ah you know. I don't know why reminds me this. You remember in the movie dome with Iraq Eight. You're watching doom and kind of like okay. It's fine as fine. And then they felt felt the need to meet up first person and they have them literally co through a first person with people popping out a quarter is that you just fire shooting be needle you kind of like. I got what you guys were going for here but also kind of like. I don't know if this was one execute very well to necessary in three one of those things I think it just became one of those things that I thought I wanted so I got it and now I'm going to give it back. Good in what they do with the shining inning with at the end of Dr Sleep is they just do this huge. Oh my to the shining and over the hotel. And I'm just like I get hit this is a sequel. But I feel like this is the only part of the movie actually makes it a sequel to the shining because the story going on with these literal soul suckers and it's new character were introduced labral. And how the type of powers that they display and the things going on here if this was if you had never seen or murderer signing this film could have existed completely on on his own and been the beginning of a trilogy. Could have absolutely done a horse supernatural trilogy with this and started started with Dr Sleep and kept going this. This film is so confusing to me. That actually don't know what Dr Sleep is supposed to reference. I don't know I don't know if it's referencing. Just hear me out on this. I don't know if it's referencing Danny Torrance and stuff. They do with his character when he's working in the nursing home home or if it's referencing rose the hat and some of the abilities. She displays when they're on their soul sucking ventures. Because I feel like it could work for both characters because at the beginning I was like. Oh I- giddy. She's like the doctor sleep and then they start doing stuff. Hugh McGregor I was like. Oh no wait. He's the doctors you you know what I give up. I don't even know who's more doctor sleep here. Because they both operate in a particular way that kind of makes them seemed like the leaders and kind of seem like you know they have this control that other people don't have like doctor and they both can send people into these sleep versus and they do things and he's dream realms and shot out to the editing and his cinematographer this because they put in fucking work for the dream cream realm stuff and the things that they do. You can tell this as a Mike plan again. Project brought up by the way they handle certain entities and medium situations right. I think that's done very well and you know again. It's a lot of good stuff going on here and then there's a lot of well. I think there's talk to her saying here. It's like so and I actually wrote the title for the for the review for this already in to me it was like you know Dr Sleep. Sleep avoids the pit. Would I have here. I mean find exactly what I wrote here. It is Dr Sleeves a doctor sleep avoids most but not all the pitfalls false overweight sequels. This Eagle to film the came out thirty nine years ago. And I won't be honest here. Just Willy honest normally that makes me nervous is fuck. Oh of course because because like it's it's it's we we actually do this right. We did this with Terminator. Where you you get the sequel to something the happen like almost thirty years ago like did you guys really need to do that like did you? As you're stuck with their and I'll say this is a way better products the way better and it helps that me and having not read the actual book. Stephen King wrote something more recent and this is based off of so it was like they have something to build off of But at the same time because of that because of that distance in between there if you and we were in theater with people that talk to the movie I have had two movies as we have done that and it drove me fucking insane and I wanted to kill somebody but We actually got when the movie was over. Actually hear people going at the end was like bait and understand the ending because they have I have never seen the shining.

"Take away all that all the craziness all that stuff you really focused on this movie. You actually have a beautiful love story between a man who has a psychological problems a doctor that helps them out and apparently they have a relationship <unk> ethics still florence nightingale eh well no. I'm still it was still her. Doctorate won't point but anyways besides the point you know he gets he goes into coma and he struggles to find in a way to get back not to get back to the land of the living till the forever but just enough to get back to let her know hey. I wanna let you know that. I love you and that i wanted to be with you. In here's a ring and then he accepted his own mortality and saying hey if i'm gonna die. I'm gonna die and then he gets a second chance. Actually come back. I mean is in there is is is really beautiful story and i think that's why the movie works because if you're young you see all these all these crazy mosser's and in different things and the lights rides and and the callers and and just all these goofiness and it worked for you on that level while if you're an older because i saw this movie when i was younger i think it was in. I gotta been high school. Maybe i think around there and so <hes> maybe he's a freshman sophomore year. No maybe no sophomore year somewhere somewhere around there anyways yeah that that that doesn't really matter but i mean i thought younger so when i was younger it was for the comedy you know there was no real big emotional all love sorry but now that i'm older and i saw it again after so many years you really notice. I love story that i'm like yo. This is this is actually big. This is this is good. This is bigger than what i thought originally and i it it at a deeper level. It's a really good movie idea recommended for anybody to watch it yeah and that goes to the same for me that i. I'm pretty sure that like as a kid kid i really did enjoy the love story by i love it even more now and especially like showed brendan brendan fraser's acting as the yeah as stu character and also that he could switch overturn dual role but as the stew character you just is phil for him and i just like you know i've i've always found like brennan frazier's at at fraser as very attractive especially in this movie <hes> but it was it was a different type of attraction because he's just this man that just wants to say to his true love that he loved upturn stuff like not very human character and that's why like that brennan frazier really pulls it off really well not just the dual role thing but the way at its ran. It's very three dimensional like you see him. Go through a lot this basically like his hell yea so yeah i can go get the book and stop them from from attacking yeah. No that mean that's the change. We get to see how that changes and so talking about in your red. You're talking about like how <hes> in the movie you know. They love him in this kind of like land of nightmares because he's got all these reminded reminded i'm. I'm kind of bummed. You didn't see it allen. 'cause there was something in this me like fucking. I was like alan's going to be so hype on this. Is the steven yeah. I was like yeah 'cause he like. I was like france going to love. The cat girl ounds gonna love the stephen king like no. I bake liver on <unk>. Okay all then you missed out man. This is kind of my bad. I thought it was funny. The heat check their but cujo do with his monkey bone that replaced. I remember that for some reason when i was like going through it kind of reading the synopsis that's right yeah stephen king let him but like there's an actor that plays yeah and that cujo did the same same thing. Where did the money so you guys. Don't remember the movie yeah. They're monkey bone steals brendan fraser's body in the real world and the implication is that when stephen king got in the car accident whatever went into coma cujo came. I'm back and stole his body and he's been the real. Stephen king's just been like living in this. You know living purgatory nightmare yeah that's why he's like a critique on stephen king because this stuff hasn't been as good since still good but like easier abbott the eighties was like top hop two years yeah yeah and then after his accident a lot of people are like well he kinda change your life now. This of this stuff is good but like yeah. Everyone knows you. You know it right. Let's stand by me. What's it called and all those ones that like the shawshank redemption. There's like three movies that are based on that novella series or whatever but we've got doctors sleep the lawnmower speaking of we'll speak of hugh mcgregor in another. I'm excited for dr sleep to yeah but doctors leaves a good look really good so era you has. I know you were a little nervous to revisit the anytime you go back and watch something that you loved as a kid. You're always going to hold up yeah so like i said before i hadn't watched it in like maybe like ten to fifteen years and yeah it was like even while i was watching it like although or no but then like i still ended up loving it just because like i said before or like brendan fraser's character all these characters were <unk> acted really great in it and in is not that that's not as surprising because it's kind of like as in the on the download for ourselves. We know that like brendan fraser fraser is is is actually a pretty good actor especially now that he's coming back with his renaissance. I'm sorry i'm sorry he's gone like no no i. I heard you say a pretty good and i have to really gate. Let's as amazing. He is yeah you should. You should want to oscar academy award okay. I see a tony. I don't think rodway go for that. He got again. I think he could sing r._c. You could do whatever you want. That was him actually seeing. I thought it was as a kid. I thought it was like a track of w-what with him oh sim singh and like actually tell you why this movie is underrated. It is yeah like i said earlier before going to tell if this movie was down by some like today radar fool embody that vision asian just goes full circle mode on the whole thing so i mean you already got a stuffed animal monkey like like getting a hashtag me to from a cat lady macomer realm so that's like you know you have the potential there. I just love to see that just go and then. I think you know garner. It was private me to the <hes> well. I mean do you oh she did. She went crazy so it's just years yes but yeah i mean for me. I i still loved it is really like i just kick it over the chris catan and was like really really good and i loved him and i remembered loving that character not i thought it was great when he's leaving like brennan freezer job he did great as brent read like brennan for illich. He made me believe in brendon. Frazier was monkey bone. Yeah that was awesome so i love just bizarre an unapologetically automatically fucking weird. This is where like like the body comes alive and bob odenkirk. We just gotta get that liberal like this is my body like he's not like oh. This is like a zombie is just like that's mine. I'm i'm gonna go and it just like this weird. Madcap like fucking like benny hill chasing where i fucking love it like it's weird and it doesn't make any apologies for just how looking like off the wallet is. I love that kinda shit. That's my organ till any last final words well we do we. Are we like this. Let's that's it for the reviews unless anybody else has anything said allen is just a great movie. I mean it's so hard to like. Ask them weird and accepting a weird and just like wanting to go back and watch a you know bringing. Only niger kids going in watching a burning raider in your movie which i'm hoping i pitched it to these guys. I'm hoping that we could do it. A brennan sants months of of movie of underrated movies <music> so no next month when it occurs. I think what it's like. We're the new prime month right yeah. Let's you brennan sawn switches. All brenda frazier is under a movies because he's underrated actor <music> circle back on that. I want i want i. I have the second second that i'm rachel. Month owned scrambled eggs. What why how all right so. Let's let's then ask. Why do we think this movie did. It's wondering because it has really bad scoring tomatoes. It only made five million dollars armed <hes> why what made audiences not lie. Don't forget about that extra two million all right yeah. I just did a quick quick. Look on rotten tomatoes. You guys have the full stats. You can drop them but <hes> yeah. Why do you think this movie was such a disappointment both financially landslide and critically because it is out there. It's an out there movie. I mean i it's you know a cookie cutter world back then an and like i like for me. I said i was very surprised that my parents i flew. Let me watch this movie. You will as a kid and kept <unk> a kept re. Re renting it for me and yeah i mean it's it's understandable as i don't know if it has like a cult following. It's like that but yeah but even then it's just a weird movie and people are this. This is the reason why because this movie came after bedazzled which was an even better movie. He hasn't had seen it. I also recommend you over for the renaissance. We're gonna watch house. He became a drug dealer and then we <music> came scarface so here's what i think it is is because like i was talking about how this movie is very weirdly paced and very rushed throughout most of it and like still really choppy at times. I think people have talked about like rose. Mcgowan went recently and we'll talk about how it was basically a really great movie like fox. Just chopped it up and you can tell there's a a lotta. Something is missing from this release directors hashtag release. I mean yeah three louisa. It's it is a really good. You can see that like it still comes through in the movie but i think it was kind of like you know chopped up and not added..

We have we have hours and hours of content to tape this week and all the content. We are talking about is avengers related still just vendors. We're going to just cut the shift. We're getting it straight to it. Because drew, and I we have to take back to back shows right now. And so both of these have to be all content. There can't be plugged. Never can't be nonsense. Today's show is each of our top ten moments in vendors, Infinity war. That's it. We're gonna get right into a bed, and I are gonna countdown our individual top ten remember if you want to find the full episode of this. It's YouTube dot com slash action industries. Let's go. What's your number ten? My number ten moment in Infinity war is the fastest we've ever done. Yeah. Is there up on the ship? And they get rid of ebony maw. And it's I just wanted to end uses the whole like, you know, what have you seen an old movie? And it's right after the rhythm, and they realized one-way ticket and ironman looks at him and he's like -gratulations kid. You're an adventure now walks way. And so I ran has this look on his face. And it's such a nice moment. Because it it's a combination of his moment his realization. But also like Arman realizing stark like this doesn't matter. He's already here. Who cares? These probably going to die. I already tried to get this kid at job already tried to give him the suit at the end of homecoming and make him adventure any passed on it. So then to try to get him off of this ship. Yeah. But he's a hero. He's an adventure. And just like that moment is such a cool. Like you feel. You're you are that kid. You are Spiderman, and it's such an exciting thing to be this kid and like Tony stark just made me avenger. Yeah. I love that moment. My moments actually have come basically at the same time. It's not the conversation. I'm actually going to remove my my conversation in my look from the list because I love it so much. It's actually when he gets the iron spider for the first time. And you see it because it's in that same moment. Yeah. See the legs come out and catches him. Yeah. Strange from heavy market sucked out. I hate spiders. I hate them for out freaked me out. But I love the the what it is about spiders fragments much of the legs in the eyes. But the iron spider the suit itself like you throughout the whole movie. You see how bad acid is with the shell and the rolling and all that. But this is the first time pops out and you're like, oh, yes, it's it's a super epic moment. It's the suit like him getting the suit like Mr. Starr this smells, like a new car. Yeah. Great their relationships. So good. And this now that we've each done our first one we kind of broken seal so to seek couple of just quick shout out the first one there are no endgame swells in this episode. We we have seen it. You may have seen it 'cause it's drops Friday, but we're not spoiling it. So we're not going anywhere near that will be next week's episode in order to finish rankings of all MC movies that we're doing. We will spoil the shit out of it then. Yeah, we will definitely talk about stuff throughout but in this episode you are completely safe. If you're worried about endgame spoilers. It's not gonna happen here. What's your number eight? My number nine nights. Are my number nine is it's right in the third act. It's in the big battle, and what condos going on Thors just gone storm breaker, and they're and they're losing and thord lands and just the big explosion. And he has dorm breaker. It's remain thought. Oh. Now, the reason this is so low because some of you guys are probably thinking to yourself. How is this number nine? Yeah. A lot of people's their favorite moment that whole movie and the reasons I've now seen this movie seven times, and while I love this moment. It doesn't resonate as much with me as it did the first time run I've washed more times, but it is a huge moment. And it is epic. And it is massive. And I and I could've moved it up. But some of the other ones I just when I watched it again this last time like you, and I did a show together. We did a live watch long of Infinity words for patriotic. By the way, patriots dot com slash team action is the best way to support. What we're doing guys? We did these we're doing these watch lungs now for ten dollars to your once a month as a whole bunch of cool. New perks coming on patriotair. So, but that is my number nine is bring me fan of store the explosion with so storm breaker showing up with rocket. It's just awesome. Yeah. That's your moment. I I really love it. But I do feel the same way where like people say, it's their favorite moment. And it just doesn't carry enough behind me. I'm kind of I've been waiting for so long for this to happen that I'm just like all right here, we go. Let's it's about damn time. So what's your number nine? Number nine. It's cap and panther running right after he says condom forever, and they'll charge everyone's charging. And then all of a sudden you see panther and capi like all right? Let's let's get down to business and they just wanted to your best. What kinda forever? No. I don't I don't do my impression of Kanda on the accent. I did it during the watch along and you'd exclusive not appropriate perk. That you get if you joined patron dot com slash team match. And I won't do it on the Mike. Yeah. I refused to do the wauconda forever. It's just as a seem so sick. And I always think about how much Chadwick probably hates saying it real life now. But every time he says, it any movie it's so often he says it in that moment. I start running. It's really loves like the superhuman like that's the stuff. Again, we talked about this on the watch long when you're a kid when you're eight and you watch that movie for the first time the things you'll always remember things just like that. Yeah. It's the two of them being the fastest avenger say. Yeah, I still remember like civil war the battle that they have when they're chasing after each other in like the underground tunnel system or whatever. And like lucky grabs the oh that's in winter soldier when he grabs the bike with one like things like that. Yeah. You're like God. That's what it's like to be super human, so consign. All. Right. Moving on I next one number eight, so. This is the very first line of the movie. It's actually not the first spoken line. Because the first spoken line. Is you hear a voice that sound? Sounds an awful Hugh McGregor. And he's and he's like we have been attacked or something like that. It's Kenneth Braun. Is it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It sounds. It. Sounds like you McGregor and you hear that on the radio, but and then the music super ominous, and you see that just they've been just beat the shit. Yeah. And it's my third S

After I go upstairs for twenty to twenty five minutes. Right. And this is where they see he is the television on and this is where the stupid total non plot point of the president is making an address. Yes. And he's like who is that guy. It's going to cost like two thousand dollars. How much bunch of box. Twenty dollars. It's like these clones are doing nothing all day. Yeah. Put them to work who gives a shit. And like, why are they hiring outside people who could fuck leak this entire operation? You bring in someone to do the lunch lady job. And I hope they're paid. Well, because my God, there's bigger lunch. Lady is you'd better be me movie. Make your lunch. She's a sarcastic English-speaking lunch lady. And there's this lady also needs to know that these like they're getting what's go- cabinet? You gotta go out in the middle of the desert, and then you're fucking all the way under grounded this facility. Of course. She knows what's going on. Of course, employers always going to tell everything to the employees cabin. I think hey, what do you do for a living lunch -ly? Piercer man one thousand percent because there's a hierarchy though. So they have to give some points for doing better. But it's all wrapped into that notion of that one throwaway line where it's like these clones are healthier if they're up about and doing things and socialising which I don't know that that is true Bullshits, it's like a dog dying of a broken heart. It's like, it's a brain. Isn't what you're worried about? It's only the Oregon well unless there's some brain harvesting going on. We don't know entrance free range them all the proves they'll taste. Do you think there's cannibalism going? Do you think Sean bean is eaten a clone? I'm sure he's had to write. It's everywhere. He could human meet all you want. Absolutely. No. I think there's there's much more nefarious things going on in this organization that were shown in would be better twist like at the very end like right before you McGregor and Sean bean face off for the finale have them like eating a human arm. Or is like, oh, yeah. Remember, your friend MAC, and they look and it's semi's severed head, and he turned it into a fucking Jack Lanner, the whole board of this organization, worship the devil.
