"Dear Friends, welcome to America first one on one. Why? Well, because I think you know about me, you know what I did before I entered The White House. I spent several decades in the national security sphere specifically counter terrorism. I was in the British Army in intelligence unit in the reserves for a couple of years and I spent several years working for the Defense Department out of Germany, teaching kind of terrorism to our allies, and then I ended up in Washington D.C. at the national defense university as a Professor of irregular warfare in canter terrorism. And then in The White House. So I never thought I'd have a national radio show and sit in front of a. Alleged domestic terrorist. Stacey langton welcome to one on one. Thank you for having me. I've never been introduced like that actually. That's gonna be fun. It just came to me since the sitting in a pink T-shirt. I don't know many terrorists who wear pink t-shirts and a T-shirt says parents are not, quote, domestic terrorists, and she even has a rosette. She has a mom not domestic. I love that. We need that in our green room. We need one of those rosettes. Stacy langton, welcome to one on one. You have been a little warrior. Really, a warrior for our children in Virginia. And you came to fame because of a certain book old books that you found in your children's schools. So first things first, before we get to that, who are you? Where do you have from? And what's it like to be labeled a domestic terrorist? Well, I've been saying to my Friends recently that, you know, because they're saying like, you're famous now or you're a celebrity and I'm like, no, I'm not a celebrity. It's actually worse than that because when you're a celebrity, like, that's fun and it's all positive and everybody loves you. And what I have is actually notoriety, which is worse. You know, infamous. I'm infamous. I'm notorious. Yeah, I'm very dangerous, apparently, if you ask Merrick Garland, I'm very dangerous, right? Right. But no, I'm from Phoenix, Arizona. I was born in Scottsdale and, you know, grew up in Arizona, and New Mexico. And spent some time in LA when I was a younger gal. And you know, I've been married for 18 years and I have 6 children. I just, you know, I'm a stay at home mom. I mean, what can I say? It's not terribly interesting, and I'm definitely not a domestic terrorist. So we'll get to who's calling you a domestic terrorist. We'll talk about how your life has changed, especially in the last week, not in a good way. We're going to give all the details so people realize just how courageous lady this is. But let's talk about the events that propelled you to fame. Just tell us your story from the beginning. So your children, the books, the school and your reaction. Yeah, so two of my children go to public schools and I had started seeing some of these viral school board stories, you know, which it seems like there's been a lot of that over the last 6 months and the CRT and stuff like that. Well, no, actually, on newsmax, that's no meaning critical race there. Well, yeah, on either subjects. But on the subject of pornography, the first one aired on newsmax, and it was about the Hudson Ohio school board meeting and that was the one where the mayor very dramatically came in and he sat down and it was a literature book from I think the seniors at the high school. And he said, I've looked at this and this is pornography and I've talked to the judge and he says all of you board members have a choice. You can all resign. Yes. Or we're gonna press charges against you. And I was cooking dinner. You know, watching this, I think Spicer covered it and I thought, what is that about? And you know, they put up the list of what were the assignments, and it was so ridiculous. I was like, that's crazy, but you don't think that that's going on in your kids school or your backyard. And then a couple days later, I saw the second viral story, which was this woman in Leander, Texas, and that was how I got the names and the titles of those two books because she went into her school board meeting and she brought the books with her. And she said, these books came home in my fourth grader's backpack. Well, that's crazy, you know, fourth grade. I mean, really. And so that's how I got the names. And then I really started to think this is a problem that maybe I should check my kids stuff more closely because I'm not hovering helicopter parent or whatever. And I said to my son, bring me your school issued laptop and let's see if we can check the library card catalog on those two titles. And sure enough, they were there. And we went to the school the next day and we checked them out because I'm not going to take the word for it. You know, if anybody else, I'm going to want to see this with my own eyes. And when I did and I looked at it in person, it's so shocking and it literally ruined my day. I mean, I was kind of like off kilter for a good 12 hours after looking at the images because this is the graphic novel. Yeah. Which is entitled. Gender queer a memoir. Gender, queer a memoir that was available to your children in a fairfax county school library. Right. And what does this comic book this graphic novel? What is it portray? We have the footage of you. You went to a school board meeting and you showed the images, but tell us tell us because there was a novel. There's the genderqueer graphic novel, and there's the lawn boy as well. We'll talk about that. So just tell us what these books contain. Well, what are the quote unquote stories, Stacy? Well, the story in the book is apparently about a woman who was it's autobiographical, right? It's a memoir. And she's a biological female, but she apparently doesn't consider herself female. I guess she considers herself to be sort of like neither man nor woman. Okay, which is amazing to me. I don't even understand that, but she's in the graphic novel, telling her story of how she came to feel this way and why she felt that way, right? So it goes through her whole childhood and her life and her journey to realizing that she's neither man nor woman, but unfortunately it's almost as if this woman was completely obsessed with sex because in the childhood parts of it, it's all about her masturbation, like she's constantly masturbating and it's about her master vittori fantasies. And all of those fantasies surround her, literally wishing she had a penis, okay? Which is that's weird to me. But, okay, whatever. And then you get to further parts of the book and then it becomes her describing her sexual fantasies. And this part is really confusing to me. She says that she becomes obsessed with male gay pornography, right? Like that's her, that's what gets her off. That's what she likes to talk about. That's a biological woman. A woman. She's obsessed with. Homosexual. Porn. This is in a children's graphic novel. Yes. Right. And so then, you know, the book then describes even some of her sex acts as she becomes old enough to sort of start experimenting with sex. And this is all so graphically illustrated. Well, they illustrate, and I'm not going to go any further because illustrates.

"I think we have to get better out. We have to teach our kids how to do this better We have to wrestle with his double edged sword this it. It is a double edged short. And just to let you know how prevalent that says you know two thirds of the vaccine misinformation come from twelve people amazing right and so and we have this stuff where people if they hear something often enough but when these people have bought and content creators and they're making millions. I think one of them. He's out near my old. Stomping ground nashville. He's declared his net. Worth is over one hundred million dollars on some tax form or something. What and so. This is a got a guy that's making. We're talking gobs of money and now this is different than a conspiracy because this is not some giant secret kabul of dark forces that own everything. No this is a dude that started in this house and just started playing misinformation games on the internet made. Some money paid some people to do. There's no giant organization behind them. And you know what else does it by like. Almost all the scientists right right. They're not behind him. Oh yeah just to clarify. Scientists fight so much with each other. They couldn't former kabul if they wanted probably not So one of the fundamental problems here and we're gonna put a bunch of stuff in the show notes. If you're interested in digging into this more detail please check that out but one fundamental problem is just the way that our minds work when we received some misinformation particularly. If it's something that we kind of already agreed with right so we have a preconceived notion we hear something. And we're like yes. That makes a lotta sense that that explains a lot for me and it was said really well and i can easily digest that it is very difficult to get that person to not believe it and it's not act on it even if that misinformation is corrected even if the person is presented contrary evidence to that misinformation. The person is it's hard. It's likely that they'll continue to persist with whatever the misinformation was that they latched onto it. It's a very tricky thing. Yeah so if. Once again with the update Here is the king of all traffic. Chuck Whittaker to 95 is slow again. 1 75 all the way down through 1 97 no reports of anything in the roadway. There was an issue earlier at the ramps at the Goddard Space Flight Center. So I'm not sure if that's still related to that or not, but be on the lookout for that very heavy traffic south beyond the outer loop is really crawling on the capital Beltway, just basically sitting still, even before New Hampshire Avenue and I looked all the way over towards route 29 very heavy traffic. That's 123. That's five lanes wide at that point gives you some idea of the very heavy traffic, new rank and rental county route 32 at 1 75 and keep him on there was erected on the shoulder, apparently But crowding and the inside lane interlude near the ramp at I 97 I'm Chuck Whitaker with trafficking, whether on the threes on talk radio 6 80 w c b m. You're the channel Forecast Sunny, dry and mild today and a high of 80. It's 59 right now. In Owings Mills, it is 59 7. And again just one more education story want to share with you just again. It's not just in Texas and I, that's all over. We've done stories here in Maryland, there's one out of Ohio Hudson, Ohio, Cleveland dot com, reporting their that members of the school board have been told to resign after they utilized and allegedly obscene instruction Guy that told students to write about X rated Disney scenarios. Or 10 euphemisms for sex or room full of people who want to sleep together or a sex scene. You wouldn't show your mom or the first time I killed a man or your favorite part of a man's body using only verbs. Blonde on and on. It goes. This is the book was called 642 things to write about. In the Hudson Mayor Craig Schubert and parents of students in the district or demanding The school board and teachers resign from the board. Because of the book used in the liberal arts to writing class, the mayor said. Quote it has come to my attention your educators are distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom. I've spoken to a judge this evening and she's already confirmed that so I'm going to give you a simple choice either choose to resign from this board of education. Or you will be charged. I think they should be charged anyway. And made to leave and also being either or I think they should be charged and resign or be fired for trafficking in this kind of porn. Just like that. Your mother at the top of the hour accused Lee of Leander High School in Texas of the same one of the same thing. All right. Let's get this some phone calls here this morning and let's start with Mike and Andy and Mike. Good morning. Good morning, Sean. Sean. Uh, I heard on the news that there's a time limit that John Durham Uh, is up against and I think is heard this Friday. Uh, that at all, uh, change your view on what you think might happen. Um, I think that I'd have to look into the timeframe thing. I don't know if that's when his statute runs out. I thought he served at the, uh, leisure of the Justice Department. So at any time since he was impaneled by a G. Barr. There's now again. I don't I think when you come to Congress can't get interfere. Biden can interfere. I think the only person it would be the attorney general of Merrick Garland. Has put a you know a date and end date on it. That's news to me, but I'll double check on that. Um, but I do think that when you have somebody like Mike Sussman is pretty high up in Perkins Kui Indicted it. I think it tells me more than any kind of, uh, Timestamp does. Okay, That's just my opinion again. I could be, uh, have too trusting and too hopeful of the deep state here. But I just think this is a guy that has had a pretty good reputation. I don't think he wants to go down in flames, uh, to not doing anything about what happened to this country during this entire Russian collusion thing, But I think thank you for the question. I appreciate that, Mike. All right, So let's see. Uh, this is Bruce and Baltimore. Bruce. Good morning. Yeah. So I'll go to Bomber County Library, NorthPoint live. We're gonna regular basis, and they've had programs on August 14. Actually, they had a program Anti racism dialogue Symposium for infants. College and preschools. So it's to the 0.1. I know some of the people staff members their work there on first name basis. And I go to the I think. What is this? I said their infants Tyler's and preschoolers 12345 years old first off if they teach that in an institutes of higher learning, no colleges, high schools I don't agree with that. But this is child abuse. And then the look look at it is like when you're talking about. So I went to oppose the August 14. And then Johnny Schatsky put the maps handed. "This is a story out of Hudson, Ohio, and the mayor Craig Schubert, went before the school board. And he said this members of the board My name is Craig Schubert. The mayor of this city. It has come to my attention. That your educators Are distributing essentially what is child pornography? In the classroom. I've spoken to a judge this evening. She's already confirmed that So I'm gonna give you a simple choice. We? Don't you choose to resign from this board of education, or you will be charged. Thank you. Is this? What do you all think? I laughed like that guy in the back. Oh, Okay. Finally, Finally, a leader, somebody in authority that can set this doing the right thing. I'm so used to just Feeling so deflated and so defeated when I see things on T V, because the board members who are just going to stick with what so to have the mayor, can you imagine having that mayor in Shreveport? Stand up. Imagine having any mayor in this town right now, at this point in the game, But, Terry, look, I'm so happy. I'm bloody I really This is just really tickles me. But here is the buck. Shouldn't the Bogdan shouldn't stop there? Where the teachers, the principal, the principal said that the principal said didn't know anything about it didn't know what was in. Okay, well, who does And how come the teachers down? If these kids are mean they it was stuff like encouraging them to do underage drinking, So I mean, everybody needs to be held accountable. Well, not only that, but I think that you know, some parents are asking that each room have a video camera so they can be aware of what's being taught to their Children, because this has been going on for a couple of years. Which I never happen. Remember during? Yes, I do. They didn't want notes in the room when they were teaching. And I say this often that one of the silver linings of all of that the zoom stuff that we didn't know anything about until all this happened. One of the silver lining is that now parents are aware of what the teachers are saying and indoctrination, but Parents said there was a prompt that asks students to write a sex scene that you wouldn't show your mom and another one, said rewrite rewrite the sex scene from above into one that you'd let your mom read and then they then it says another prompt as students to drink a beer and describe how it tastes. Parents said that they felt these writing props and others were so inappropriate for their Children. And it is. These are high school Children. This is a college course They were taken in high school, but I imagine imagine I'm thinking about my own Children. A teacher. Reading this curriculum and thinking this is okay to do Children a year over a year. It's not like it's brand spanking new. Somebody knew something and somebody should have gone somewhere. Told somebody. Look, this is inappropriate. I'm not going to let my kids do this in my classroom. This is why parents are up in arms and they're going to each school board meeting in there saying We're taking your job. Your job your job in your job, because now we understand they are. They're not doing anything to help our Children. They don't even looking at the curriculums. They're signing off right next signing off and nobody's paying doesn't have a clue. But I cannot imagine. How are you a teacher? That it doesn't take that curriculum to the principal and say, Hey, look, Mr so and so, miss so And so I know this is something that I'm supposed to teach in this class. But I want you to look over this. This doesn't mean appropriate garb. How did that not happen? How in the world were they able to get away with? Maybe we might find out that it did happen. And somebody ignored that teacher. Somebody higher up, But I don't know. I'm not saying that could very well be. But more leaders would stand up like this mayor and give that ultimatum. I would feel I think I'd be able to breathe again because you know y'all. We have not been able to really take a Just a relaxing full breath. Since Trump came down the escalator. It has been so many years of us. You know, the media just I mean, they just twist and they lie and they spin. So we just kind of hold our breath constantly. And what? You don't know what your kids are going to be up against. Next between you know, school television media. I mean, social media. I mean, so when someone in authority says this is your ultimatum, it makes the rest of us go. Okay. Okay. Okay. We're gonna get somewhere because maybe maybe this will be like a domino effect. Maybe other mayors of their tails will stand up for the people that they represent and say, No, we're taking this back. We're taking our town backwards. We're going to Take our kids back. We're going to be aware of what's going on. Allow the parents to come. Parents are waking up. I thought, you know, you know the school's not your babysitter. Your nanny, you gotta You have to be the hawk. You have to be the heart looking over these. We didn't know that we can trust those right. Children. Don't think my I don't think our kids had that problem with the schools. I wouldn't think so. But I'm sure a lot of these pairs were like I never thought this would even what I hate is we've We've seen this before. Where these parents, I mean, parents, groups of parents have gone. On a boat in front of the school board. Over and over and not just that. They've read the from the books, and they told him what's going on. Those were the mayor's That should have stood up like this guy did so kudos for him. If you like to ask for.

"Ransom from Katie Th in Seattle. We have a lot of conversations on my show and then covers sort of the cultural war issues surrounding what's going on in schools all across the country. And I have saying on my own show that you know, the nuttiness of Seattle has a tendency to spread. And so if you live in some of the other air Areas where You feel like you might be far removed from that kind of activism, you realize Oh, my gosh. It is in my backyard now, And the same is true all across the country, bad activist teachers of L A or New York of Austin. They have a tendency to spread out into the surrounding communities. And then all of a sudden, you find yourself in a position. That parents and some school officials in Hudson, Ohio, find themselves in because the mayor there his name is Craig Schubert. He wants all five of the school board members to resign or Face possible criminal charges because of some coarse material that was taught in one of their high school classes. Now, part of the class work is and by the way this is writing in the liberal arts, college credit courses being taught At high school and part of this lesson includes a book that's called 642 Things to write about. And on each page. You have a different prompt that it's supposed to get you to think creatively and start to write some of the folks there decided to take a deeper look. Into what the prompts were perhaps a parent. Looked at the kids book just added curiosity, and they were all shocked to find out that there were some problems there. That number one told them to taste beer and then write about it. Obviously, we're talking about high school students, but to prompts that jumped out the most. Just because they're kind of gross One is to right. A sex scene. You wouldn't show your mom And another said, rewrite that sex scene. Into one that you would let your mom read. So first of all it will. That is disgusting. Don't do that. Don't write a sex scene. That you wouldn't show your mom And please, especially in high school. Do not rewrite the sex scene from above into one. You let your mom read. That is gross. Don't let your mom read any of your sex scene stuff. In fact, don't do sex scene writing. How about that? High schooler want to go into college? You know, you do your thing. Well, let's leave this at high school. And so folks got upset because obviously this is not appropriate material for kids. Regardless of whether or not they're taking a college level course. Is being taught in a high school. It's wrong. Full stop. Every reasonable person would know that now from the school board's perspective, because whenever you get any of these kinds of materials, and of course they're supposed to be generally. Some kind of committee, some sort of group that reviews the content just to make sure that it is in fact appropriate for that age level. And in this case they didn't do that. They apologize. They pulled the material from the classrooms. They note that no student actually was given this particular set of promise, But they still say are bad. It's wrong. Apparently, that's not good enough. Because the mayor of the city in Hudson, Ohio, says every single one of the people who are responsible for this incompetence, you must resign which are fully back or be charged, which is absurd. This particular mayor said that he contacted the judge, and this counts as child pornography. No, it doesn't. I am all for calling out the nonsense that teachers and principals and school boards are putting front in front of these kids, But we have to make sure that we're not going to a little bit too far into the crazy. This is not child pornography under any sense of the law. I'm not a lawyer. But I did watch every single episode of the good wife and the practice, even by the way, the last two seasons of the practice, which sucked so I know a thing or two. Also, I googled just some of the laws in Ohio and please, God, don't let anyone look at my Google search history. After all the research I did last night. This is not child pornography. They actually have a law that's very specific. That gives a carve out to educational materials Number one number two. The prompts themselves are not child porn, simply saying, write a sex scene, even if you give it to high school, or that's not child porn. It's a writing prompt, Ironically, even though I know wouldn't happen, But ironically, the content that 18 year old in one of the courses Might create based on that writing prompt could be considered child porn. But again when you're getting into the text version of things, it's a little bit wonky. So you know, let's relax just a little bit. Let's be content with calling up the crazy without leaving into the crazy ourselves. I'd love to hear from you Send me a tweet. "For for a while. And then the last thing he says is those are all people in the community and people that go to school here and it's it's true it drives me out of my mind when when i've warned the mask and and had to wear to church and i mean it feels like you're suffocating. The whole time. I don't know how kids do it for a whole day. I can't for six or seven hours at school. i. I can't imagine it not. I don't know how you're doing it at work when you have to wear it all day at work. I just i couldn't i couldn't. I'd have to quit. Because i can't take it. Start coming unglued after a while is like another society within a society. I think god that. I'm not in that and i don't be listening now or forced to not only wear masks but i know i don't know how is this. We are being segregated in so many ways then in this same hudson ohio School board meeting the mayor shows up to discuss the boards Kids and that they're they're Remember we played the austin School down there the sexuality and the books though. Yeah same thing happening here. it's all well. Okay members of the board. Monday ms creek schubert the mayor of this city. It has come to my attention. That your educators distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom spoken with judge this evening. She's already confirmed that someone give you a simple choice. "Mike and everybody else just ignoring. Wow that is tragic. That i mean. That's our public. School system had enough show. How are these kids who were taught to disrespect our country not to respect it. How are they supposed to grow up and lead this country. If they don't respect and love it. How is that supposed to happen. Dire consequence when you're teaching them at the very least indifference for this country and More likely you're teaching them distrust discussed distaste and dislike for this country and just total disrespect and disrespect. And you add. Then you're you're gonna ask him to govern this country in a few short years. I mean we're all saying the while the the reaping of those seeds boy that was well said keith. Think about this all right. We're already starting to see our government infected with our public school absolutely education system. She's in hudson ohio. There's another school board meeting where somebody's trying to speak out about about the mask situation and a guy came into the school board meeting with Recording hogan's of some other people in the community and he played it for everybody. Not this one. no. Well i mean you. Can't you can play the well. Okay can you pause for second round. So this is hudson ohio and this was a very interesting school board meeting. There's a lot of fireworks at this meeting. And so this guy yes and then we'll play the next one after this one.

"Drama there. And i went there with just the row and pete zinc legend. John mark sherman. And all these guys. I'm still calls and And then had sex with sony many people and felt like i get out and decently difference focused and mounted from school. And you also went to nyu to be straight. Which i guess didn't last very long. It didn't last very long. Yes what was what was that mindset. Did you actually think. Was it more just like i need a new playing field or was it really like. There is something that i have to become yogi. I think honestly. I was interested in. I had wanted to be a filmmaker really badly and i was sort of like at the small liberal arts school and i felt like anything to do something more significant but it. It is weird because it was like the early nineties. And i felt like i wasn't you know it was previously So it was. It was a slightly different time. You know what i mean. And i had grown up in a conservative way and i think i was really expressing myself and then i think i was freaked out by that. You know what. I mean like i was. I was uncomfortable with what that was like. I didn't embrace that myself. I felt like oh well this. This isn't writer. This doesn't this. You know this isn't gonna look right or feel right and i need to. I need to shift and make a change. So i was kind of running away from my own independence. The ship got rented itself. I think right when you're raised you know conservative in private school and all that kind of thing. You're given one way to not sure. And i mean it's never it's never explicit but it is implicit in everything and you know you're shown one way to be good and everything else is bad or shameful or stressful or whatever. Secret was part of it. That was. It's interesting how How there was so much. That was just naturally dishonest. You know what. I mean No matter what your intentions were you know what i mean like you just live dishonestly. Yeah just such into thing about and there weren't there weren't role models there were no this podcasting list or maybe it did. But i didn't know about it and There weren't people that you could look at and say like oh well. They're they're doing this and they're making gov and you know that's that's a path for me. There wasn't really that then. You know what i mean. there was some outlet. Sure but you have to kind of look for night right. Yeah what was warning school like. Talk me through boarding school. God i thought we were going to the evolved part of me. I mean that's even worse at donnington. I'm orange. School was really intense. Because i had gone to public school. I like i haven't gone to private school until high school. And so i went to this. Forties will and it was in ohio which is weird because i was living in ohio says sort of like. Why didn't i go further. And it was You know fulop like up dead. Poet's school ties. Uniforms were tired day. We started the day chapel You know and what's so strange about those schools is that you realize especially in hindsight your teachers. The faculty are so young. Remained like those guys are like they were like twenty five. So you're like seventeen and you've got these teachers and doormaster who are twenty five. Who are not evolved people. You know what. I mean so it was like kind of an intense situation. The only thing that got me through it. Is mike eventually through. Like i was put with one roommate who was so uncomfortable and wanted to move because of my taste in music and i found the other guy. My dorm of course was the other gay guy and we sort of you know we kind of locked our door and you know bought all this shit from pure one and listened to twelve inch madonna records and like we kind of created like a gay sanctuary like a lily pad in the middle of the street pond and that was low. It got me through it. It was a blast like you. He was my best friend for years and years. Oh so important. So it was super important and grey. Where in ohio. That was in hudson. Ohio at this place called western reserve academy. But i grew up in a town called shaker heights ohio so i'm sudden it's basically a different state. Where was that it's waverly. It's a village right below. Chill coffee our state's first capital basically Works the book. That was just a movie with amy atoms. And glenn close the kilby algae hillbilly those are my people all right. We'll see you were like hillbilly fires everywhere. So it's sort of like exactly parallel own literary representation of ohio. I'm seeing. I'm seeing rugby shirts tucked into genes. I'm seeing woven belts. Yeah i'm seeing sperry top siders. They're just looking old photos of yourself true true but i. it's. I'm certain i'm narrow. Yeah no you're not wrong. And i was a total clothes horse. Yeah i learned that from my mom. My mom used to take me shopping every weekend every single weekend when i was a kid so yeah it was insane so i was like obsessive about clothing and loved fashion and Yeah we're all asaf a lot of ralph lauren. A lot of a lot of layers. Yeah not a lot of layers you had to. You have to you have to because there needed to be more than one. Opportunity flipper cholera boris. Absolutely yes. I need a row of callers standing at attention two or three. Yeah absolutely Have you digitized your mixed tapes from this era. I haven't had too. Because i just bought a car. That has a cassette deck. Wow yeah i actually use use it all the time. Wow like i. Listen to cassettes every day when i'm in a way that sounds like a dream. I'm very impressed with that..

"Like that doesn't really sound good because they're explaining it exactly how they want and no one is addressing encountering it so i think that's that is a really dangerous thing i don't know if you guys heard the The president's speech last week and tulsa. And i have to say as an oklahoma and i was born and raised in. Oklahoma took oklahoma history in high school and college never learned about the tulsa race. Riots but One of the things the president said in his speech just really resonated with me and that was just because history is silent. It doesn't mean that it didn't take place and while darkness can hide much. It erases nothing. Only with truth can come healing and justice and repair only with truth facing it so this goes back to what i was saying before. Only when we talk about this can we move forward. And so i think you made a you made a good point. We weren't scared about cory booker coming into our suburbs right because we have experienced with that right. We're like oh. I have to come to mind. That's okay yes. Come on and cory booker. i think there's a house revealed on the street. Actually but we have experienced that but this is why they don't want us to have the conversation so we have seen this happen even in my little town of hudson ohio so we recently made national news in hudson ohio and it was not good news for our town so during our memorial day events. Lieutenant colonel kempter was giving a speech and he dared to included discussion of the real history of memorial day. A history that includes people of color freed slaves playing an integral role in the holiday. The organizers admittedly cut his mike because they thought it shouldn't be part of the program. It shouldn't be part of our discussion now. The american legion has since responded swiftly to calls including a by my husband. estate reputational l. Asking for their resignations. They actually closed the branch and i applaud their swift response. But what we don't hear in the media is more of the context. This is something you know. That heather cox. Before this event we had a city council member who was caught trying to push down a community conversation about race when police opened an investigation into some hudson students making egregious racial and homophobic threats online..

"Missed the drive with pulse on. Espn ninety four point one fm and am nine thirty. Our phone lines this hour brought to you by whitelaw at eight. Seven seven four two talk eight seven seven four two eight to five five whitelaw made here and joining us now on those whitelaw phone lines. He's doing it for baby dog. And i appreciate him doing that for me he is. Tom brag from her two four seven. You had a busy weekend starting with me on well actually before me on friday during the show after the show sunday were camping with the heard and of course you're the social media darling of the night as well you had soccer. You had the carnival. That was paul mayweather. That was sunday was prime time. Tom brag on it. Went all the way into this morning with the japanese wrestling. He can't leave that out being kazuko. Kata versus shingo takagi. Wd championship all. How can you leave that out. How asleep at that point. I'm sorry some believe back on by the time everybody was waking up this morning. So okay i got i got up. Watch late never mind. Never mind that we're supposed to talk about marshall. We could do a whole different show about gambling. we could. That could be a podcast that we could do real sense. That might be a podcast on her. Two four seven but bursts up you were leading the wave friday. We were talking about the news and camera. Crews going to step down and everything that had led up to that and what was happening sense and low and behold you mentioned that you had something you couldn't share just yet after we get off the air a little bit later on you're able to finally put it all together for us. You know how to use that freedom of information act request really well because you dug up some really juicy stuff man. They taught me. Well it's the journalism school marshall. I learned a thing or two. It took me long enough to get through there. But i did learn about the freedom of information act. And yeah you know that. We got that letter from president gilbert from last august though recommending that the that the board of governors extend my cameras contract The response was also included. And that was from patrick. Ferrell the chairman board of governors Just you know saying you know. We'll take under consideration and then with the athletic committee and then they'll will present their recommendation to the board and the board from there. And when i talk to patrick farrell on friday afternoon I asked him if you know. The athletic committee had taken under consideration. What happened. He said that that they did not ended become pretty clear evidence that there was not support amongst the athletic committee or the board for for hammers contract to be extended so they went back to dr gilbert and estimates they would still like him to vote for and putting pack of feral Dr gore said no and everybody kind of dug in at that point. It seems like seems like the lines were drawn last august. Tom brady had that of course over on her. Two four seven. So where are we at now is is it there. We moved a little bit further sense. You following this or we don't know anything about it i think. No we don. I think Well i think for lack of a better term everybody got maybe got a little spooked on friday when you know athletic directors moved into a new job and all of freedom information dirt coming out and people kinda claimed up a little bit over the weekend which is expected. You know. that's how these things go and we'll see if the if there's more learn it seems like you know for now things are going to start to settle back down with people figuring out what their new roles are gonna be and trying to move around. And that's what's best for the school right now if you're marshall. If you're marshall fan you don't want all this turmoil you don't want this again. For lack of a better term these warring factions going back and forth at each other for the next year until dr gilbert and mike hamrick. Sleep the school. You don't want that that. That's not a good environment for athletics. It's not a good environment for academics. It's a nobody comes out looking good on the other side of it. You won't settle down now on people to start to move forward and hopefully if you're a marshall fan. That's what's about to happen tom. Brady joins me heard two four seven. The reason we want him on today this was actually planned ahead of time is You had camped with the heard on sunday even breaking down all the recruiting news. Let's start there with camp. We're finally being able to see athletes on campus again and it feels like coach off offered maybe fifty four people. A spot on the her roster. That's what it feels like anyway because he so active on social media and of course you're right there behind him so no. What was camp like under coach often. What did you learn. you know. This was my first camp period. I never been to one of the ones under doc holliday and when i was covering wvu for the paper in charleston. We didn't really handle that. We had never there was other people that that would do the camp stuff so this was a learning experience for me. Definitely you know you kind of go in there with your eyes glaze over. 'cause there's hundreds of kids running around and you don't really know who anybody is unless you recognize them where they've told you ahead of time that they're gonna be there 'cause everybody's got different different jersey color different number. It's madness for the first half an hour or so. Then they kinda split them up and they took a group up to the indoor practice facility and just you know going off context clues coach off immediately followed that group up to the to the practice facility but my reporter hat on and said oh. He's probably the guys he's got an eye on are probably the ones that are up in the practice facility. So i went up there. Spend some time and you know. That's that's about what it was. He was the guys that are broken by position. And kind of working with marshall's position coaches and then off was kind of taken a lap around the city and checking in and offering some pointers system kids and and some of those kids that that ended up coming away with with offers the One can take column pierce a Five ten receiver out of hudson. Ohio was one of the guys that got a preferred walk off her yesterday and he was one of the guys that i saw working with. You know wanna one But the other offers. I think the most interesting one out of there not a guy for this upcoming class but for the last twenty twenty three jd as linebacker from columbus ohio. That yates name sounds familiar. He's max yates his son. Paul if you want to feel kinda oldest afternoon. And he is a great linebacker. He got an offer yesterday. I think marshall is going to be on him big time but but he seems like he's pretty good. He hasn't entered into our twenty four seven sports ratings yet. But i think he's going to pretty soon tom. Brady's with me from her. A two four seven and so you were all over this on sunday. Doing camp on top of everything else. Coach off is very big on social media. And that means you don't get to sleep very often. So that's why you're up at whatever hour of the night watching japanese rice back up to watch it. I took a nap in between fair. Anyway that's fair. What's the count up to now. Because i can't three million offers no know that's not the true number but it feels that way. It feels like he's got a size. I don't i don't have the exact number right in front of me. But there's there's a whole bunch out there right now and and you're starting to get into as we mentioned with with jade needs guys for the class twenty twenty three or starting offers we you know. Twenty twenty two is really heating up with those guys that are going to be seniors this fall but but the juniors. That's where the coaches really start to get their hooks in guys. That's where you can really make an impression. So you're gonna see a lot or the twenty three guys as we progress progressive summer and starting to get the fall with these guys have their their football seasons. You've got to remember. Some of these guys didn't get to play football last fall. Also some of might have gotten some time in the spring but for some of these these summer summer camps june circuit. This is the first competitive competitive football. They've played in a while. So it'll be interesting as everybody going to get back into the swing with recruiting how the starts to play out. June's been wild so far.
