"Interns on whether they knew old network anchors like Eric severide. Howard K Smith, Frank Reynolds, these are names that I grew up on as fantastic journalists, nothing like you see on the fucking mainstream media now. And he would ask these interns, do you know about these men? And they look at them with blank stares. It's a shame. And he would say, trust me, the transition from one anchor to another is not that big a deal. Cronkite begat rather, Chancellor begat broke law, rentals, begat Jennings, and each of them really did do a pretty fair job in their own right, whether they were liberal or Republican. They did a fair job. And he thanked his listeners for their loyalty and I always thought that was very, very, very respectful. And that made me think of Dan Rather. And I don't think I was fully aware of the friendship. I developed with Dan Rather, when it was happening. And I got friendly with him, and I want to tell you a story I might even put this on Patreon 'cause there's no listeners. It's a good story, but maybe not. But, you know, Dan Rather obviously had deep appeal, plenty of fans down south. Big Texas guy. But with me, he was very down to earth. And it startling when a man like that, a man who America trusts so much to tell them world news, befriends a guy like me. It's a very odd coupling. If you saw me who at this point, I was suffering so badly with sciatica and two bulging discs. I was popping 30 percocets a day and that's no joke. AJ, how come that be 30 a day? Listen to me. My buddy Johnny Blake calvani doctor was a former party loving guy who was a Studio 54 every night in the 70s. So when I was introduced to him, Johnny boy and I would go to his office together, his name was doctor Robert small, and he didn't tell you what you had or what you should do. You told him what you needed. You know, it's funnier because one of the first bits I remember that George Collin did was this thing about how people do drugs to get high, but George Collins did a bit about let's get small. He turned it backwards. Let's get small. Real small. He was on his comedy album as a kid called, let's get small. That's the one where he has the balloon animal around his head very early Steve Martin. So he's playing the banjo and he's fumbling around. Audience is going hysterical in the background. And finally he goes, you know what it is.

"Those two players I do think are in kind of their own tier. I think that Washington is going to take one of those two players in Indiana is going to take the other one and then it's really there's a lot of question marks moving forward for me after that. I really don't think that anybody else is going to break into those top two spots outside of Howard and Smith. Now, Shakira Austin got eliminated from the she got eliminated from the tournament early and was upset. Well, not upset, but all miss lost first round. And so we didn't really see a ton of Shakira Austin in March. They didn't go super deep in the SEC tournament either. I think there's a lot of question marks around Shakira Austin, but I think that she has a high ceiling. I think she's a high risk high reward type of player. And I think that she's got she could be somebody very, very good if she gets developed properly. I don't think that she's ready to pop in and be a starter in the WNBA franchise. However, Atlanta needs someone like Shakira Austin to pop in that they can afford to give her some playing time. Atlanta knows that they're not going to be battling for a WNBA title this year. It's just not in the cards. So why not bring in someone like Shakira Austin, who with the proper development really could become something very, very strong for your team moving forward. And you can afford to give her a lot of playing time because you're not going to be competing for a title this year. So Atlanta is a great fit. And for that reason alone, I didn't drop Shakira Austin, but less than impressive month of March for all miss in general and specifically Shakira Austin. So moving on to number four, Dallas has their first pick of this round. And I am going to actually change things a little bit here. My 1.0 draft actually had Dallas taking Ashley Jones out of Iowa state. But I am actually going to move hill and out of Michigan up to this number four spot. Now I was hillman, has been fantastic in Michigan has made me kind of eat some crow as they've now advanced quite a ways further than I anticipated. I thought that they were, you know, I didn't think that they were going to be consistent enough to make it a deep run in March. And here they are in Helen is a huge part of the reason why she's kind of, I guess, shut me up a little bit as far as my early takes. And so I think that if I'm not willing to make adjustments based on new information, I think that's a little bit ridiculous if I stick to a take that I had two months ago, three months ago. That's just not the way to be. And so I did go ahead and bump her up two spots from number 6 to number four. So Nas hillman going to Dallas. Number 5 is actually I'm going to keep the same player. I think sika kone or Coney. I apologize. I'm not positive. I've watched several clips and I've heard her name pronounced different ways. I'm excited to see her drafted. So that we can hopefully get just more content for her and be able to see the content I really tried to get into different videos and clips and different things to watch more of her. And it's pretty hard to come by. So I do think the secret kone is going to be ending up in New York because New York has a really solid starting rotation right now. And I think that she could come in and be kind of that developmental expectation kind of similar to what we've seen from some of our younger European brought in players that we that we've seen an awa queer that we saw last year for Dallas. So that's where I see Q&A. Number 6 Dallas again has a pick and I'm gonna go ahead and say that they are going to bring in destiny Henderson who I had at number 7 previous to this and I've got destiny Henderson going into Dallas. I think that she could provide some depth to a pretty strong backcourt in Dallas and I think that she could come in and learn a lot from the players there. She is a different type of guard than we currently see in Dallas. And so perhaps there's some matchups or some specific lineups that destiny Henderson could really come in and do a lot of good for the wing squad. And I bumped her up. I had her at 7 last mock draft and I bumped her up to number 6. Number 7 pick is Indiana. Alyssa Kane, ELISA Canaan is really as actually shown quite a bit of what we wanted to see her to show in March. She's actually done a really solid job. She dropped she trapped 13 and 7, and then she dropped 13 and 7 against the number 16 seed. Then had actually a pretty rough game, but wasn't didn't play a lot against Kansas state. Kansas state she wasn't really in the game a whole lot. And so they won that game by 32 points or something like that. And so she just didn't really play a lot. And so it's hard to get a good grasp on things there. Now, against Notre-Dame, she had 16 points ten rebounds, snag that double double, went 5 or ten from the field, which is strong. And then went 6 for 7 from the free throw line, did miss a free throw in a game that was pretty clutch. And so, but overall, strong line wasn't the strongest outing from her, but seeing this NC state team basically run the table through their conference tournament, where she performed very well, and then so far it hasn't had to do a lot in the first two games until Notre-Dame showed up and then went 16 and ten. Shooting 50% from the field and 6 for 7 from the line. Solid. Just solid to push your team forward into the elite 8. And so I bumped her up one spot, excuse me. I bumped her up two spots. I had her at number 9 to LA in my one. Here in my two I've got her up at number 7 going to Indiana. No matter how the last.

"So it's a way for you to be able to freely support the coverage of women's basketball. So we do appreciate all of the Twitch love that we have over there. Let's get into this. Let's hop in and actually start talking about this draft. I'm actually going to tie each of these picks not only to the number of pick, but to the actual team. And I went a little more in depth this time as far as looking at team needs or team personalities. Or where I think that teams might be maybe they're history of players that have been successful for them as a franchise, could influence if I had a couple of two or three players that were really close. That I was looking at in a specific pick for a specific team. I went really in depth into each of the team rosters and kind of where they're at and tried to make some determinations there. But let's go ahead and get started with our number one pick that is going to go with the Washington mystics and if you would have asked me a week or two ago to have this episode, I would have switched my number one picks. But the last couple of weeks have been good to the Kentucky wildcats and to Ryan Howard in particular. Starting to turn things around here. So I think Washington is going to go with Ryan Howard for the number one overall pick. For the last two weeks, I moved nalyssa Smith up from number two up to number one. Simply because Kentucky was looking like they were struggling. Howard seemed to be still putting up some pretty good numbers, but just wasn't being it wasn't able to take over games in ways that she could and should. She had a really strong showing against South Carolina, which ended up in a 9 point loss for Kentucky. But since then, they've rattled off 5 straight W's and are looking like they are going to make the NCAA tournament, which it was looking pretty shaky there for a few weeks, but it looks like they are going to be making the tournament as long as the wheels don't totally fall off. These last few games of the season. So Ryan Howard, here's the reason why she is still my number one overall pick. And that is simply because she is a big guard that she has some really great size for a guard. That's been a really helpful element for a lot of successful guards in the WNBA. Not only that, but she is so comfortable with the ball in her hands. When she's dribbling, shooting, passing, everything she does, it just looks easy. It looks natural. And so I think that, you know, getting into a WNBA franchise working alongside with teammates that are going to be significantly better than her Kentucky teammates, I think that she's going to be really, really able to flourish as a point guard. She's got a fantastic basketball IQ. She has a nose for the ball on defense. She honestly, she's a faster version of Chelsea gray and has a better shot. That's kind of where I see that. So she's really solid there. So I've got Ryan Howard as my number one overall pick again that could easily change. It's still a razor thin margin between Howard and Melissa Smith and B but also, again, taking into consideration team need. I do think that the Washington mystics that Howard fits their roster and fits their team needs very well there. I think that being able to have Howard as kind of an incoming young generation of a guard in that in that roster is going to be a really solid move for them. They've already got quite a few big bodies and so that's why I leaned with Howard going number one as opposed to Alyssa Smith. So I bet you can't guess who is going number two overall to Indiana, Kenya. Number two, overall pick going to the Indiana fever is Melissa Smith. Melissa Smith has done absolutely everything this season to secure her as a lock for the number one number two spot. And she's currently averaging 21.2 points per game, 11, just over 11 rebounds per game as well. And she isn't like a prolific block blocker, you know, she doesn't she doesn't block a ton of shots, but she does play some really solid defense in his in positions to cause the other team, not that she gets a hand on the ball, but the way that she positions herself defensively can affect a lot of the other teams shooting and that's also why she's in place for so many defensive rebounds. She had 14 defensive rebounds just the other day against Oklahoma state. So she's a fantastic player, really excited to see what Alyssa can do in the WNBA. She actually, the way that she moves, I feel that she has a similar vibe, she's kind of like an Asia Wilson light right now. She has a she can move into space on offense. She has a real, just natural, she naturally finds herself where her teammates can get her the ball. And that helps her. She's one of the best, she's one of the most efficient scorers in all of basketball right now. She's shooting 55% from the field. And her free throw shootings looking better and better as the season progresses. She's now up to 70 7% from the line. Started out a little shakier than that. Previously, but looking really strong right now. Melissa Smith, here's the thing. Whether Smith goes to Washington or Indiana. She's going to be a mainstay in this league for a long time. I think there was a lot of question marks about the last couple top prospects going into the league last year. I don't have any question marks around Alyssa Smith. I think she's going to come in and probably be an immediate contributor to whoever decides to take her, whether that's Washington or Indiana. I don't see a circumstance where we see like we had last year with Charlie Collier and owa queer in Dallas where they both got drafted number one number two and then really didn't sniff the floor. So I don't see that being the case for either Howard or Smith here, I think that they're going to be immediate contributors and I'm excited to see what they do. There is a little bit of a gap. I feel like Smith and Howard, number one, number two, I think that's a lock at this point. I mean, even, I mean, even a major injury to either of these players, I still think they go number one number two overall. And which makes the next few picks really interesting. I've gone back and forth and there's been a lot of moving up and down for my picks like three through 12. All right. I constantly am tweaking these picks a lot more than I am my number one number two. However, my number three pick is actually someone who I've had up at number three for the majority of this season. I really, really like what I see from this player. And that is 6 foot 5 center out of old miss Shakira Austin. Shakira Austin has a WNBA ready body. She's able to not just her height, but the strength that she has, she moves really well. I like a lot from what we see from Shakira Austin. If she wants to study some film, if I were her, I would do everything I could to become Sylvia falls two..

"Treasure. That's not really how it happened at all. The movie never really mentioned if this is truly Seabiscuit's first race with red Pollard, or if it's just the first one we're seeing in the movie. Regardless of which it is, though, I've got a link to a list of sea biscuits racing history in the show notes for this episode, and I couldn't find a horse named silver treasure anywhere in them. Although it is true that Seabiscuit did not win his first race after Charles bought him, that race took place on August 22nd, 1936 in Detroit. Seabiscuit tired and didn't place in the top three. Oh, and in the movie, when we get introduced to wem H Macy's character of tech talk McLaughlin around here, that's a completely fictional character made up for the film. With that said, though, I personally think that he adds a lot of fun to the story. I love it. It's great to see him do all those sound effects live on air. Back in the movie, after a disappointing first race, read and Seabiscuit take first place in the next race we see them in. We don't see any sort of timing for this, of course, so we don't know if this really was the next race or again, just the next race that we see in the movie. After the race, Charles talks to the press and makes the analogy of how Seabiscuit or just the biscuit may be a little horse, but he doesn't know he's little. He thinks he's the biggest horse out there. And sometimes when you're the little guy, you can do big things. It's an analogy that the movie ties very heavily into millions of Americans who, at that moment, we're feeling like the little guy themselves. After the market crash, getting back on your feet was easier said than done, but Seabiscuit was helping to provide inspiration. It is true that Seabiscuit was often shortened to just the biscuit, and we know from history that his first win for Charles Howard Tom Smith and red Pollard came on September 7th, 1936 in Detroit. That was his third race after being bought by Charles Howard. Going back to the movie, there's a Montage of races where we see the biscuit make it to the winner's circle, saying on free, handicap, San Miguel handicap, San Rafael, handicap, then William H. Macy's character tells us that makes 6 straight wins for Seabiscuit. And this streak really did happen. The first winning streak for Seabiscuit after being bought by Charles started on November 28th, 1936, it lasted for three races, though, and stopped on February 20th, 1937, when.

"Has gone down, but I think that's because she's been able to find herself being more of a facilitator and well rounded player rather than just a peer score. Currently she is my number one overall pick. So if your team snags that number one or potentially that number two, Ryan Howard is a name to remember and to pay attention to the rest of the way. All right, let's move on. I've gotten Alyssa Smith as my number two overall out of Baylor. She's a 6 foot four forward and if there were a player I would pick to potentially surpass Ryan Howard is the number one overall and Alyssa is my pick there. In my opinion, the best rebounder in this class this draft class and I don't think it's close. She has an absolute knack for finding the ball and getting there both defensive rebounds and offensive rebounds. And that's a huge, huge part of the game and especially in the WNBA. Players like Sylvia fowles and Rebecca Brunson and others who have done just such a great job at rebounding and making that a hallmark of their career, I see a lot of similarities in the way that they have a sense of how the ball is going to bounce and they're positioning. I see that in Melissa. And I get really excited to see that. Her offensive gameplay really does remind me of Asia Wilson. She, you know, except for she's right handed. So. She basically goes into space just effortlessly. She has a real sense for where space is on the court and just moves into that space. Effortlessly and finds where she can be open to get to receive the past. Finding that open space, I think, is really what has helped her become one of the most efficient scorers in the country. She shoots nearly 70% from the field during her junior year. She's done a fantastic job there. Big time player there in a big time program in Baylor. And I really do think that there's a lot to be said about in the list. I think that her size and her ability to work the interior on both offense and defense is something that I think could really benefit several teams in the WNBA. So again, I think that she's probably going to go one two or maybe three, but I do think she's a top two draft pick currently. Let me just read you off where she's at right now as far as her statistics for this current season. She's averaging 20.4 points per game and 13.2 rebounds. Absolutely insane. Absolutely insane. She got 11 blocks on the season. And where I really like what I really like to see is that her percentage, she shooting 57% from the field, slightly down from last year. But look for that to average back up. Again, she's shot nearly 70% from the field last year. So we know that's in there. She's very efficient. I think the reason why her percentage has gone down is teams are keying in on her. She's a absolute difference maker on both ends of the floor. And teams have to account for. They're in Baylor. That's my take on Melissa Smith. Watch out for her coming into this season's WNBA draft. All right, number three, I really do think that Howard and Smith are kind of in their own tier up at the top from here on, I really think that any of these players, this is where I think I'm going to see the most movement in perhaps my own personal rankings. And again, if you were to ask Steve or Logan or Jason to give you their personal rankings, it likely would look different from mine. Perhaps from this time forward, I know that a lot of them are pretty high on Howard and Smith. But the rest of these, the rest of these, you really could move around quite a bit. The rest of my top ten really here. I've got Shakira Austin currently at my number three. 6 foot 5 center out of old miss Shakira is just phenomenal. I love watching how Shakira plays basketball. She's a big that really knows how to draw a lot of fouls. However, which is big time. If you can get the other teams bigs or if you can get the other team into foul trouble, that gives you so much of an advantage moving forward in any game. And she does a fantastic job of that. She gets to the line constantly. The one drawback to that is that she currently is only shooting 65% from the field this season. So she really could step it up in that regard, getting a little bit better from the line. If she can become a really, if she could become a 75 to 80% free throw shooter throughout the remainder of this season, watch out because I think that there's going to be some teams really clamoring to take a look at Shakira Austin. That's where she's at. She's also a rebounding machine. She's averaging a 9.1 rebounds currently. So not quite where Smith is, but what does a great job there? One knock that I've heard on her is that she can be a little bit turnover prone. She, you know, she'll she'll lose the ball potentially. However, she really makes up for it on the other end of the court, because the amount of blocks and steals that she gets is honestly like Sylvia fowles esque. It's incredible. Fantastic defensive presence on the court. Really needs to just kind of shore things up on her shot on her scoring efficiency and if she can do that, I think that she's gonna carve out a nice place for herself in the league. All right, moving on to my number four.

Folks, now that she's moved on to much bigger thing, she's verified on Twitter now. She's way too cool for us, but I'm excited to see that she's still joining us. I slipped through the cracks on that one. Thank you guys for having me back. It's going to be back and I'm glad I didn't get permanently kicked out. We're glad to have you back and yeah, but that blue check mark that Twitter keeps denying me, but that's okay. Anyway, so yeah, we're going to talk about all things NCA best ball. We are by the time this comes out less than a week from season crazy when we're recording where exactly a week from the start of this season, which I don't know how it's somehow already November 2021, but it is. So lots to talk about incredible agenda, but I want to start with all Americans and talking about who the three of us have on our all American teams are who we would put if we had a vote on the preseason teams. They will do a first and a second team just because I think there's a lot of names that are in this conversation here because I made up first and second team and then I also have like three names that I was like, and this person, so start there. Maybe let's start with first teams. About gen do you want to go first? Sure. I think I had exactly what the AP had. So sorry for being lame. But that would be page Becker's Caitlin Clark Ron Howard, Melissa Smith and a le of Austin. And that was that was fairly straightforward. I thought, I mean, there's a lot of good players who can be considered for the all American group, but I think the first team was fairly straightforward and even it even broke out fairly nicely positionally, which I don't love that that's a rule, but it worked out here just fine. Yeah. I agree with you, except for on one. I made one replacement to the AP team, which is I put Haley Jones on there over Ryan Howard. But other than that, I have the same first team as well. Yeah, I also had four, I just had only one replacement. I had Becker's Clark, Howard, Melissa Smith, and then I have nice hillman overly a Boston, which I lovely of Boston. I'm not sure Nas is actually better than Elia, but I just think now is going to put up much bigger numbers, which is what voters love because she is such a focal point on that team and maybe it's a little bit Big Ten bias as well. Whereas South Carolina is so crazy, deep, they just brought in like Camilla cardoso. She outplayed Boston in their exhibition, which means nothing because it's next vision. But in terms of minutes, she played more minutes or more points, 8 for 9 from the field, more rebounds. So I just think that then they brought in the top three of the top four recruits as well, right? Sanaya fagan in the front court, who people are comparing to Candice Parker. There's just way too much there. I feel like for South Carolina to have first team all American because they're all going to play 20 minutes a game because there's basically ten all American caliber players on the team. So it's no shade to Leah Boston. If anything, it's just the opposite to the hope the team as a whole. I'm going with NASCAR and in that spot. I feel like I agree with you to a point. I actually I wrote in my notes, does Camilla cardoso supplant olea Boston question mark on that team? But I feel like if South Carolina finishes one or two in the final poll, has the tournament run that we pretty much all expect from them, I think, barring any fireworks on this podcast. I feel like almost have to have a first team all American based on the best player on the best team type of argument. So I feel like someone from South Carolina is going to be on there. It just might not be Aaliyah as much as I love watching her play. Yeah, I think that's fair. I kind of felt the same way. That's why I kept her on. I think you could kind of make that argument for South Carolina. You could probably make it for Yukon, and you can probably make it for Stanford. But I also think they're the three rest teams in the country and they come down to the season, Larry it's going to have someone on.

"Was pretty good. And then i didn't really notice him after one so to the regular point unfairness like really noticed quiz team drills either after but i mean yeah i mean. Those routes were pretty sick Dusted mills you said. The jc jackson one was dislike really broke If jackson was lost like you didn't know was just you just got stock and So that was pretty awesome to see. yeah Wide receivers as a whole definitely the big theme of this practice. I know you let your nuts with albie leading my notes of that too once. I put them up Really just any. No part of that is the atmosphere to it was in a red zone so like a lot of people are catching touchdowns and stuff and there's a lot of throwing not as much running So yes good day for the receivers as a whole Except for one to me. And i guess we might get into that leader Quizzes your observation right so we can go to my next. My next thing would be Bounceback day for atari jackson who i gave an l. Vp point on. What what are you looking at. You're looking at a guy at my door like get. Gt f- oh. I've had so many. He i don't know he's he's soliciting something. I've had those so many people coming coming up. I don't i. Can't i can't i can't talk right now. Indicating to percents that he's doing something. He's recording podcast. That's a good excuse by the way get someone a solicitor out. Sorry the jury now. I'm doing a part. There's certainly people covered up to my door these days. It's crazy like i didn't want that before. Cova didn't want during code. I certainly don't want it. Now get the hell off my property. I actually ordered on amazon. A no soliciting side. Because it's been it's been rampant here and hasn't gotten here so i'm looking forward to putting that up when it gets here. Get off jimmy's law. Literally and for your time sorry. Sorry to interrupt you or distracted with my. It's a of. Hey look like very not happy up to tyree jackson back today at a really good catch in the endzone that you and i saw like a really close. We were standing right behind where he got a pass from mcmullan's who actually floated up to him and he made a big leaping cat sydney state of bounds and atlas awesome. And i told you. I was going to make this play the day although spoiler alert. I'm not because obviously rigorous catches better. But as love when he caught that touchdown. And then i kinda rub it in the the patriots races a little bit. He gave a nice spike so like aggressive. I felt like a and a really thinking picture of them. Okay but didn't you love that. The gronk spike from good height and distance on that spike which You might have that from him. Because he's a former quarterback he's got a good arm. Spiked it towards the patriots sideline right by the in that direction. So i like that emphasis on taunting by the way in the nfl. I did that would be a penalty. Probably oh yeah. I mean i might be penalty before exp- aggressive but i like to see that He did have a calculator in practice where he couldn't say imbalance but i still thought it was really impressive that he caught the ball that has learned pretty high and he landed straight on this back. It wasn't like it's not like he didn't get feed into to- jaguar. He couldn't have just the way his body took him and everything was just kind of unfortunate But so a pretty impressive play and then he got up. Afterwards he had the wind knocked out of him seemingly I don't think he returned. Maybe did return to practice a little bit later on i don't remember. I didn't seem back He may have. I just didn't. I didn't notice him after that point. I don't think you went inside though. I think he stayed. I don't think you want to the trainers tune. The you to stay out there. So that's a positive. Scientists seem like you know seriously jacked up or anything but But yeah that was good on that. Play like I'll note that you and our standing next to each other for that play and The the passes coming like directly at us. It made our standing in the back of the end zone and as the ball was approaching. You know we're standing like what like eight yards. I'd say behind the end zone by the back of the endzone. Like i thought i was. I was in my mind. I'm going okay. Do i try to make a play on this ball myself if it gets through and and i actually thought it was going to sail over like a is going to sail over my head Expect tyree jackson to get up there to even make make make the catch on that on that throw and he got up high and he high pointed it and like you said he came down but he landed out of bounds but Very impressive play from him just to go up and get that ball. Even though he couldn't stay inbounds. I totally agree. Like didn't count still a pretty impressive as he like. We mentioned i think on the podcast yesterday like he had a little bit of a down day. As i can't probably i would say yeah the nice bounce back day today after. He had a couple of drops yesterday. Good to see that too especially almost not that you ever want to see a player struggle in a vacuum but you almost wanna see in theory like how player responds struggling do they let it spiral Snowball or do they come back the next day and kind of put it behind him so credit to him. He did that What's your next thing. I think the I'll just stay with the tight ends. Because i think just generally speaking They had a very active day. Like they didn't have the highlight reel catches that Some of the receivers had but Got it made a ton of catches. Earth has his fair share of catches as well Real quick i also note Devante smith of course who He played today like he practiced in team. Jobs didn't get targeted. I don't think at all if he did. I missed by the yeah. He had one route where he shook again. Jc jackson had a rough day. But he shuck jesse jackson again. Slant and got wide open. Bawden goes way Because also smoked whoever was covering him and They're both wide open. And the ball. Just went to earth for touchdown Instead of a a county smith. So you know again dealing really targeted. We didn't see much at a him but it was good to see him. You know run a really nice. Clean route Against jesse jackson. But that was one of the catches that are it's made a like i said he and godard and tyree jackson were heavily involved today and i think that's kind of been a theme of camp early especially the last few days. Is that the tight ends have been really really heavily involved in You know you had put together thing. I think on how often hurts. Tight ends Both of the last year when he played and then also in his career both at alabama in the home of course at alabama in oklahoma he always had star wide receivers to throw tokia so mixture density though. Yeah no though. Jay howard irv smith yes so there were some guys but yeah but Yeah so he has looked to the tight ends quite a bit and then of course flacco like his best friend. This camp has been tyree jackson so yeah just just worth noting. I think that At the tight ends have been heavily involved in in these practices. So far i would. I would imagine that will probably continue into the regular season Devante he did not do one on one which is a little interesting hopefully again. I'm not like why. Would you play.

"Have different conceptions of truth is different acceptance. The facts are they tend to have more bubbled existence. They tend because you can disagree with any of this. They tend because they're hanging out in like minded communities to engage in group polarization. You know you said at the end of the book you ask the question. Which unconstrained institution poses the greatest danger to the body. Politic hyper partisan media flailing to retain readers and viewers or presidency with direct access to tens of millions of admirers. I mean so. I just wonder whether he are you neutral about this change. You think it's bad for the country. I absolutely think that they divisive miss. That afflict society now is a dangerous and never more so than in the midst of a pandemic when health recommendation. So politicized as we've seen. So i think you know. I'm not gonna make an excuse of saying. The book was written before the pandemic but it was but of course it's unhealthy. But i also you know looking at the long view. We in the era of hyper partisanship. We manage to elect abraham lincoln as a leader. Who's who oversaw the greatest crisis in the greatest threat to democracy in american history. So i think partisan journalism is not automatically bad. The difference is in lincoln era. You either read a republican newspaper or a democratic paper and though papers were openly and proudly aligned. I'm waiting for the day when cnn declares itself eight a force aligned with the democratic party. I'm if we can't go back to the days of walter cronkite and howard k smith and others than than maybe people should be aware of the specifics of who they're watching and make the identities more a requirement. You know think it's kind of obvious sure it's obvious but it was. Why was it. Proudly a bannered in the nineteenth century and is so reluctantly admitted to why did fox news begin with. Its its existence. I sang that they were a truth. Teller that the news with all of the fairest news coverage ever. Majesty there's a bit of phoniness involved on both sides. And i would like to see either. I don't think we're gonna get a return to nonpartisan journalism any time soon. I absolutely believe that. What you said was right. And i end my my book with a reminder that pat moynihan said that you can argue about opinions but you can't argue about facts but we do argue facts and we're groping now for away for Social media platforms to address. The statements lies in incendiary commentary. I think that that's a big fight. Going forward yet to the kootenai quote the sentence after you quote pat money handed out in the interview here. The sentence after the moynihan quote is the trump era may usher in a permanent upheaval which americans never again agree on basic information or trust in traditional news service. I like that to happen..

"Only because they're looking out for their own electoral futures trying to win over win over southern votes. Right will because remember. The south is a racial police state. The only way that black people can go into the courthouses as defendants or custodians and so by the time the twentieth century rolls around. The black people have been completely disenfranchised in the south of despite the fact that they're close or more than fifty percent in southern states they have been completely excluded from the political process reinforced by violence. And that means that the white Senators and congressmen stay on these committees for years. They are the dominant political force. And so they have to be appeased to get anything passed so why social security doesn't include domestics and farm workers as to purposely exclude by people. In fact i read the testimony of howard w smith congressman from alexandria. Who said we can't give black people social security because if one sixty five year old black man has the has has a pension. Nobody else in the family will work. So you just keep finding these instances of just grotesque racism That cause much of where we are now. I mean why why is a great migration occur and all black people be the south. It's because of the economic and violence economic lack of economic opportunities education and lynching that forced people leave. So this is who our history is and we'd got to study this so we don't keep doing it. In fact you give a great nutshell of the history. And i'm not going to tell you where because you need to read the book. Don't skip ahead. You write the confederate states of america and those who fought for it refused to accept the results of a democratic election in eighteen sixty. They rebelled against the united states of america to set up a new country founded on the principle of white supremacy to protect and expand the institution of slavery forever then when white southerners lost lee and those who followed him created new ways to install racial control now that we can acknowledge the facts are conversation can be grounded in reality not nethon not ideology and important point to remember is that we don't own the actions of people who lived in the eighteen sixties or the nineteen thirties but we do have a responsibility to acknowledge the past to acknowledge the facts. The past does not have to control us especially if we understand it tie of that first part of that that history that i read particularly the part where though the confederate states of america and those who fought for refused to accept the results of.

So John Berman's on the Constipated news network and as you as you may know, No see you don't cause who watches I don't but nonetheless. Is a huge fan. Of smoky Schumer. He listens to every word that the schmuck stir has to say. He almost regurgitates it. He almost Rickard to take every word that the schmuck stir has to say, And I'm gonna prove it to you. Here. John Berman on CNN today. Cut six Go, So you Ooh, are going to sit and listen to the Senate impeachment trial of the former president of the United States who has been impeached for inciting the erection. Inciting the insurrection at the U. S. Capitol. Yeah. Isn't it? Pretty much exactly what this monster had to say. Last week, Mr Producer. So their minds are focused on erections. I think Directions, either that or they can't pronounce elections or What else? But the problem is, But there's clearly a problem in the Liberal Democrat Party ranks, whether they're on the floor of the Senate or In our newsrooms in America, so John Berman is no Walter Cronkite. Hey, is no Ah Howard K. Smith, who was among my favorite David Brinkley, who was among my favorite He's just another CNN Moron. And so to repeat, Cut six Go. So you are going to sit and listen to the Senate impeachment trial of the former president of the United States who has been impeached for inciting the erection insight. And so I think, for now on, ladies and gentlemen, we need to say, because You have the Senate wannabe majority leader. You have mister. Nobody, John Berman and CNN insisting that this is an impeachment over the incitement of an erection. Now is that constitutional? We need to ask one of our legal analysts. Maybe any McCarthy can tell us is that We definitely not ask. Ah, Toobin, Mr Producer because we don't know what kind of reaction will get from him. As you might imagine.
