Back in May, Howard county executive Calvin ball said he expected to break ground by the end of 2022 on a 5000 foot long tunnel. The goal of the $75 million tunnel is to keep storm water off Main Street and dump it into the patapsco river. Now WTO has learned the design for the tunnel is expected to be completed within the next month, but the county has not yet provided a new target date for the groundbreaking. Howard county is set to open its second storm water storage pond uphill from the shopping district to capture water, so it doesn't flood downtown Main Street. Neil can stay in double you TLP news. Northbound side of the BW Parkway after 50, the accident scene blocks two left lanes, you're going to want to stay to the far right hand side of the roadway. If you're headed northbound, right past 50, that's exactly where the delays begin, so be ready to slow down. Beltway traffic looks good in Maryland, southbound side of I 95 has the accident scene right after the ICC, unclear how many lanes are affected, just be careful as yet southbound after 200, that's where you're going to find the activity. North capital street at the intersection of Channing street has an accident scene looking at the maps here. I'm not seeing too many delays in either direction. "Just two years ago, Montgomery County's public safety radio system, the one that lets first responders coordinate with each other while responding to emergencies was suffering from spotty coverage. Now that has changed. Montgomery County's got a new $42 million public safety, radio system and Peep hearing. Howard County, Maryland, parents file lawsuit challenging student school board member’s voting rights
"And Howard County, Maryland, have filed a lawsuit against the county's public school system. They want the school board to stop allowing the board's student member to vote if comes after the student cast the deciding vote to keep schools from returning to in person classes in the lawsuits obtained by the Baltimore Sun. We're blowing rain, horizontal rain. There are plenty of people the hotel but right now we're completely without power in this area. What storm Surge concerns do you have there? Right now. Things have been OK. The storm surges you heard in the CBS report. Is there keeping an eye on things, but no, no horrible flooding, so to speak, And you also heard on the CBS report. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For NoVA, Washington DC
"Is is the the warnings warnings have have either either expired expired or or they've they've been been cancelled cancelled a a few few minutes minutes early early that that storm storm that in particular we were watching in Montgomery County in Howard County. As we can quite a bit in the past 15 minutes, no longer above severe levels. It's still a thunderstorm is still putting down some pretty heavy rainfall. But the potential for any large hail or really strong, gusty winds is now pretty much over with. So the warning Is cancelled early, but still some fairly heavy rain from the Seneca area through Rockville in Rossmore, White oak up to sandy spring in Brookville and over the line into a highland in scaggsville and love on savage areas. Uh, just to the north of the Montgomery County side of the Beltway. Just to the north of Beltway is the heavy rain. Aah! And again. It stretches into parts of Howard County and up towards the Baltimore area to sew. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings For Parts Of Washington, DC Area
"Severe thunderstorms popping up in central Maryland. Let's go to storm Team four meteorologist Matt Ritter News era. It is an isolated thunderstorm, but it is a severe is produced some wind damage near the city of Frederick a short time ago. The latest severe thunderstorm warnings in effect has been extended southeastward from the city of Frederick, affecting northwestern Howard County, South Central Carroll County. In North Central Montgomery County and the rest of southeastern Frederick County stated until 6 15. Now there's AH, one area particular of concern very close to Newmarket and Green Valley. Parts of Maryland route 75 there where there might be inch diameter Hail falling right now on some of those locations, a cz Wella some 60 mile per hour wind gust, causing some tree damage in that area. But as for the city of Frederick itself, it looks like there's just some light showers and some lightning left over. Right now from the storm areas that are affected by the extended severe thunderstorm. Warning include Damascus in Clarksburg are Bana Woodfield. Layton's Ville Sunshine extends down to Montgomery Village basically kind of parallels Georgia Avenue route 97 up into parts of South Central Carroll County near the Sykesville area, just to the north north of a brook, Phil, and only again, this warning continues until 6 15 as the storm continues to move to the Southeast. And about 20 MPH. So if you're in those areas that I just mentioned to be ready, you'll probably be getting this severe thunderstorm in the next 15 to 20 minutes. There's some non severe thunderstorms. Heavy showers in parts of extreme northern Loudon County right now, not much else happening in the district for the time being or in the rest of Maryland.
