Kevin Durant reveals when he knew he'd leave Warriors after last year

"Lot of these trades. Aides are confusing and Diangelo Russel. This is his fourth team now. and He's twenty three he's eight dynamite all star and so he kinda got thrown into the mix. Because if you're the if you're the the the warriors and you could get him in the process of losing durant you do that a hundred times out of one hundred. It's just the question. Is that if I told you at the time right that when they were losing him you know when they were losing durant and gaining him that it would turn into Andrew Wiggins and a top three protected first round pick. I think we would have said at the point in time. Okay I got it because you're already seeing the first blush results on NBA NBA twitter. That he's kind of playing the role of Harrison Barnes and the first championship run remember Harrison Barnes was the crucial member of that was and that wiggins is going to play that role. Livingston's not there anymore right so so he would be that guy. And if you're Steve Kerr you're like I can. Let's get to this guy if I'm coaching up. Three million green and his personality Wiggins of former number one overall here comes wiggins. I'm thinking he's thinking that and is now just think about it. Think about it next year. Are they open up in that beautiful jewel up in San Francisco. It's all filled up right and Curry Klay. Draymond Andrew Wiggins and number five stroll on the floor and number five could be the first overall selection in the draft left or the fourth overall selection in the draft. They could have all those guys showing up there next year and have the first and fourth overall picks in the draft tiredly possible

"I looked at a bunch of guys. It's mostly guys. You just have to review my team. Starters Luca Hardin Lebron Davis Yokich Slash Hawaii Reserves Yoga Slash. Coli Paul George Damian. Lillard Karl Anthony Towns Donovan Mitchell Rudy Gobert crispell and I went Luca Harden Lebron John. Anthony Davis Gobert for the starters reserves. Were Lillard Westbrook. cringing a little with Westbrook. Kawhi Ingram Yokich Paul George Donovan. Mitchell all subject object to change and I feel good about my Lewis. I will say I will say one other quick thing for the you mentioned earlier fans who were like freaking out about what other fans did ed the Caruso votes and everything else. I'll say this the fans is still do a better job of this thing. The players and the players get a quarter of this also. The Fan vote is fifty percent players collectively vote and that will be twenty five percent media collectively votes. A panel of us and that's twenty five percent but the ever since they went to this format the player vote has been consistently insistently bizarre with when you start looking at all the guys that got votes and even like multiple votes who are guys. Were like fifteenth men or semi retired or playing in China and and they're still getting votes that it's the players are not taking. I hope they take it more seriously this year. So I'm not criticizing fans when I see the players doing. I want the players to have a vote. I wanted to take it seriously. And if they taken seriously I think they should take some of our share. I think they should have a bigger voice than we do if they think it seriously if they took it seriously and I'm not sure that they do the one thing I will say going through this Mostly this morning when I was was Kinda scrolling through a basketball reference pages. I I've I've decided I need a dynamic Mugshots now so when I go to the Karl Anthony towns page and he's smiling smiling. Brightly looks really happen thinking man. He's he's like seven eight straight games and his team is losing. It should be sad Karl Anthony towns when I go to pay all the time Brandon Ingram groom is looking really glum. And I'm thinking dude. You're having phenomenal breakthrough season. Sure the PELICANS destroyed. I want like dynamic mugshots. I want I want it to match the mood when I go to a basketball. The ball reference page. I liked that Howard. That's the inside fans want from you. Okay we have to abandon the studio because Ariel Hawaii is GonNa talk. "The guy is pure entertainment. Better portray on your Eastern Conference all stars then. I probably won't be back on your pod to do that one. I don't have to to go out and I'm not saying trae young's bad choice either but you just by that logic you better put your young. It was more of a tiebreaker kind of thing where I just kind of. I decided if I'm deciding between him or giving Devon Booker his his finally has his first nod or towns I went with the the the guy who is just pure entertainment and still putting up monster numbers on a team. That's top three in the West. I mean is that I listen. I know the efficiency is bad. It's why I've always knocked Westbrook in the first place it you and I share the same general critique of him over the last several years including his MVP year but for purposes of all star especially all star reserves. I I'm not quibbling with it it'll be interesting to see what the coaches do. There is no statistics as for Russell Westbrook to meet the all star team Rohbock score numbers. Israeli it's not but those are the he doesn't even have that anymore Devon Booker's Ross Start Rob box. Numbers are just as good Donovan. The mitchells rob. Boxcar numbers are just as good mind and assist here there and I do have to there and I do have Mitchell in and I seriously seriously considered Devon Booker and and I think he's he's deserving Russell Westbrook's advanced that's our oracle all across them not horrible but their way below these other guys. The rockets are good because of James Harden. That's why the rockets are always In there in fact there are bad wind. James Harden doesn't play and Russell Westbrook does play which you know like I said I didn't say that that heavily with idea I'm not gonNA wait. That's so heavily here but in the absence of other compelling statistics saying they're Russell. Westbrook is an all-star I I just there just is no I looked I. CanNot I find physical case for all stores healthy thing. I'm GonNa make another absolutely squishy terrible case that you're going to just like just barf over as I make it. There's a certain amount of like I don't know inertia or just simply like if a guy's been an all star for six seven eight years running you gotta knock him out definitively. Typically I don't I don't disagree with that. Kevin Pelton talks about that all the time. The track record has to matter. And I'm fine with that I just don't I wait a little bit less than than most people in to to me. I just don't see a statistical case especially when you think about like yes. Numbers are good. What could other what what would Donald Mitchell do if he put up? Twenty four eight and seven if if breath on every single possession. He was wide open because two guys recovering. James Harden is point. His scoring would be higher whether his assistant rebounds would be as high. I don't know well. The shooting. Mitchell is shooting thirty six percent on threes. Westbrook shooting twenty three I think you would do pretty. Yeah well Another guy that I know would do well in that role because he did it. Is Chris Paul and in fact he was so good at it. That teams could not afford to double team James Harden in the way. They're doing now. Chris Chris. Paul is averaging sixteen point seven assists five rebounds forty seven percent overall thirty seven percent from three advanced that's off the charts. Here's as a staff. That's not advanced Chris. Paul in the last five minutes of close games thirty six of sixty six from the floor plus fifty seven. Chris Paul in the last has three minutes of close games. Fifteen thirty one from the floor plus eleven third. Chris Paul has been the best player in the NBA this year and it is not close. Chris Paul has been one of the best clutch players in the history of the NBA. Full Stop Chris. Paul's right elbow mid range jumper is arguably the single best late-game shot in the NBA. In the last fifteen. To Twenty Years Dirk Nowitzki would probably be the only one I think to me. That has an argument. Maybe you know I should say Katie to any any almost any Katie shot but that one Joe Johnson for like a three year span. Well Gioja that we're talking like it has been the Buzzer shot. Joe Johnson if it was not a buzzer shot at what it was only. It was only so much Joe Johnson. Time Chris Paul has been sensational this year. He's been better on offense than arrest despite the the fewer points per game and all that defensively. It's not close. He's been the best clutch player in the in the NBA for a team. That does not have a super duper amount of talent and they're five games. You're five hundred. He's in that left. Mitchell go bare Booker Ingram and took both jazz guys. And I shrug. I don't really feel passionately. Nationally about it It does it feel right to have to jazz guys. Feel great to have to jazz guys but what about that too but The PELICANS are twelve and twenty five in the sons are fourteen and twenty three and falling fast and so I just sorta used winning as the tiebreaker. I mean if you look at Mitchell's numbers booker's numbers they're they're very similar devon booker shooting better overall from the field defensively Mitchell is better in. It's not close so tiebreaker winner goes to Mitchell Ingram. MHM was tough men in because I will say part of the reason you have to watch the bad teams. I ain't got everything but when someone has a seasonal ingram you have to only watching can tell you. Is this guy playing winning basketball or is this guy putting up numbers. On a bad team Brandon. Ingram was playing winning basketball. The Way Brandon Ingram playing on both ends the floor. Now defensively the advance. That's unkind think. Too unkind I think he's better than they paint him but he still has progress. Typical of a young player He is playing winning. Winning basketball will translate a winning team. He's passing really well. He's shooting contested steadfast threes. He's super aggressive. Going to the RIM through contact through bodies through little little corridors. You don't think you can get through despite being toothpick. This is real. Yeah it's meaningful and if you want to put on the team I'm not gonNA argue. I just didn't in this case because 'cause I chose the to jazz guys in Chris Paul over him I don't feel great about any of those choices even towns. You could quibble with if he makes it. It'll be deserved. If Devon Booker makes it it it will be a deserved. He scored thirty or more like nine games in a row. I'm fine with any of those players to me. After Ingram and booker there was another gap and then he just SORTA gets ugly. It's like I was looking at like can I make a case for John Rant. Can I make a case for. CJ mccollum can I make a case for lamarcus Aldridge who sort of sneakily coming along lately and decided about two weeks ago. Hey No threes. That line someone's home with that line is for. It means something three I get three. Maybe I should shoot those. But that's what I went with. Towns Mitchell Gobert Chris Paul subject to change And I feel actually I feel bad for booker and Ingram but decent about those choices. You had booker off as well right. I had booker off but I wanted wanted to get him on. And you would be deserving. I honestly definitely deserving definitely deserving and listen I I agree with the way you just stated it in the case of I think it was Mitchell over over booker. Whoever booker just that winning being the tiebreaker? I don't agree in general even though I was just pounding the coaches for doing it this way. The coaches always talking about winning being so important so I want them to just be consistent with it. I don't think winning should be that big of a consideration for all star not in the same way as MVP when we talk about MVP and even all L. NBA. It's end of season awards for the full eighty two games and winning matters at that level and you're stats need to be more than just stats. But for an all star game which is only only about half the season and it's a an exhibition game and we don't we don't consider all started be as big of an honors all NBA. It's just a whole different different set of circumstances it the then you can be a numbers guy you can offense not no defense guy you can be a guy who has consistently somebody who's a fan favorite As long as there's it's warranted also by at least some of the production so I'm not like winning is not to me the most definitive most important important consideration. It's I think it should be weighed in and I think that yes. If you have a tough call between player a player be I think it's a fine tiebreaker. But I don't think it should be league the be all end. All I have no problem Devon Booker being an all star despite the sons being driven hookers averaging twenty six seven assists four rebounds on fifty one percent shooting thirty six percent from deep fifty seven percent from two. That's outrageous. His advanced numbers are all worth and Mitchell. And I think that's because of defense they're taking defense and I will say these advanced numbers including plus minus paint Devon Booker is one of the very worst defenders in the NBA. And I watched her game. Last night I watched sons a lot of watch every team a lot. I don't see it I don't see it. There's something that either I missing or the numbers are warping. Because I don't see a good defender I don't maybe even save average defender. I see someone who's prone to mistakes off the ball and this and that but I don't see trae young right I don't not try. I don't watch him and think that's one of the ten worst defensive players in the abyss. I'm watching wrong or missing stump stuff or so I just. I don't see it with him. So yes I considered his defense As as Disad is a disadvantage relative Mitchell bear and Paul. But I don't think it's as bad as those numbers are painting it to be. I would have no problem with them. Making the All star team by the way also if you if you again tiebreakers Donovan. Mitchell has also been insane and crunched this year. The jazz have been the single best crunch time team in the whole League Bogdanovich a crazy good in crunch time. You just can't have three youtall source. That's too much so again tiebreakers and you know the other instant conversation is like mantras. Harrell is averaging twenty points a game. I just can't take reserve but he's he doesn't have it it it you know there. Are there other guys. I mean I looked at the full list of guys I just. I was like let me be completed on this. I looked at guilty. Sal exander John Moran. CJ mccollum we against went down the drain Lamarcus derozen no way. The Spurs are so much better when they're on on the bench. porzingis merge Murray Buddy healed Jerry Jacks. I looked at everybody Diangelo Russel. He hasn't played enough. I Know Fox disqualify disqualify him for that but yeah no..

"Jumpers twenty-seventh on floaters digest. Yes and Danny Green shooting forty five percent from three. Because that's what Danny Green does apparently is rolling out there. He makes his threes almost It and and you know they've been able to work around that so far and and maybe maybe it's not a problem. Maybe it changes. Maybe Lebron's shooting picks up Lebron shooting a great I think he's shooting thirty one percent from three Eh and and not as well from two as usual by his again other worldly standards but the Lakers really good in the League is more fun when the Lakers are good because everyone wants everyone roots for them or against them really hard There's the Lakers are just. They're just to show their show unlike any other show in the league and it's it's more fun when they're good and they're really really good anything else we didn't touch on OFFALS intouch stroup. Well what what happened happened. Robert Covington e through awful. It was it was. I think it was Was He plane fourth quarter. He's on the bench and the camera pan by just happened to have in his mouth and I went did. Here's one of the. It's one of those weird phenomenon in life right where you You discover something for the first time and suddenly everywhere like we have those stupid rebel scooters now around on New York. I didn't know that these things had come to New York and somebody pointed out once. Oh yeah those obnoxious rebels because when we talk about the ones you can just hop on yes and all of a sudden once I saw one of now I see them everywhere so last year we had good friends of ours in Brooklyn who had gone to Amsterdam and they brought back the Stroup offals. And it's like this little it's like caramel filled or you can fill with other stuff and it's like two waffles together with filling in there. What you do you take troop waffle? You put it on top of your hot Mug of coffee or tea or whatever and it it heats up up so now it gets all nice and warm and gooey whatever and then you eat the strip awful. I'd never heard of this. I just experienced it for the first time within the last year and then suddenly I noticed like Oh like our Bodega has the Strip waffles. Less dangerous suddenly bleacher report is like stocking them in our in our cafeteria. Really dangerous because that stuff's free and so now I'm watching the game last night. A rubber like wait a minute. That's not is it. So I tweeted about it. And controversy ensued. Controversy ensued Steph. Bondy of the New York Daily News came back with no strings. offals sock and you know the whole thing happened But apparently I've been informed by the twitter verse and now by I sources in the twin cities that there is something else I can't remember the brand but it's actually some sort of like energy version of the stroup waffle so it still looks like a strip waffles. I think it's probably not the sugar waffle but it's supposed to be somehow like your re-energizing Athletic Snack on the bench thing. Okay up there with whatever other stuff that's come out in the lesser. So in his case it was it was like an energy bar. It wasn't like the Stroup waffle like I got from Are People Riding around these scooters in Brooklyn are adults riding around these scooters. Yes yes they get. I don't think I mean like the Scottish headlight Blue Ones. Oh Oh okay I thought you meant like the electric's no not look bigger. Those things are all over San Francisco here in New York has not allowed loud them yet. I'm talking about like the types. I don't think an adult can look anything but silly on on what is essentially a large child's scooter. I just don't I just I'll never. I like helmet on helmet off. I just think you look undignified and you shouldn't do it like you've probably seen this in my neighborhood. There are so many parents and all the kids have their little scooters you get the adult scooters so that you can keep up just run. Yeah just run. You just look like a dope on an adult scooter. It's not it's just a taller scooter. Yeah like they're going to the grocery store and forget it a segue you can't you. You can't look at anything but dumb. Do people still ride segues. They do around Croatia. The tourists will gone segway tours and inevitably inevitably. There jumbled so close together that there will be a a Segue segue collision and they'll both topple over and I will laugh hysterically in their faces about the. That's what you get your writing in close proximity to other freaking segue the subway riders and it makes a noise like they hit each other. It's noisy they clatter it's great. At least the scooters will take up less space on the sidewalk so yeah but you know when we were in San San Francisco. I think even for the finals walking around like they're just like just stretches of them. Were just laying all over the place because those pick them up. Yeah you up you pay new. You Commute to work. You know the ones. I'm talking about like this. This little moped thing now. These things are everywhere then the new scourge of New York. They haven't come do. I have not seen them in mining. They're all over Brooklyn all right. It's time for the PORZINGAS bowl. Paul Porzingas Palooza for Zingo Palooza. Howard Beck you're GonNa read his work at bleacher report? His podcast is called the full forty eight. Who is the guest this week I had who did I have. This is my brain. must've been riveting unless there's just no. It was fantastic. "For ten dollars off your first purchase with seek second big development of the year that I haven't talked about much jeff because we just talk about this team all the time The Los Angeles Lakers are nine and two with the second best net rating in the league. You know as the first the First Best Aka the the best net rating in the league. Best League better if it's the Phoenix Suns. My head will explode Boston Boston by one tenth of a point over the Lakers. Boston has the number one on offense in the NBA. Very sneakily after putting up one forty on the wizards which apparently is just the thing you can do. You can roll out. The you know the Washington generals if they had a little Inter Inter Inter Inter city intra-city Rusizi battle. I'd watch that General's wizards. Oh yeah sure Mike the Generals might put up one four crossing Might get his his bet. My finally pay off the Lakers look really really good in ways that I don't think people necessarily expected they have the number one defense in the NBA and they're making it work with their centers or giving them really good minutes. Those minutes I think go down a little bit now. The kouzmines back. But they're getting the thirty and forty really good minutes tonight from Dwight and juvenile jail. Just like last night's line budget was twenty two and twelve and three blige sub like crazy. It was crazy. Yeah Lebron leads the League in assists averaging eleven which is by far career-high His chemistry ad looks really good. what do you think this his team so far They're fun they're I think they're pretty much what I expected. I mean their defense. I think is better than everybody. Buddy would have anticipated Given where they were last season but I don't think there's the should be surprising. Like Lebron Eighty were always a a perfect one to Or one one or one a one. B whatever the hell they are I'm not surprised that Lebron despite all of his noise about it's all about eighty it's eighty s team. Whatever like they're essentially kind of like neck and neck and usage or field goal attempts per game like it's still it's Lebron is still a the driving force of that team An idea of course is really important. But I'm not surprised that that part of it I like a lot of people wasn't sure about their guard. Corps wasn't isn't sure but they had enough shooting been okay. They've been fine. I still think if you go down like I was looking at the career. Three point percentage for for older their perimeter guys. It's not great. It's competent enough great. Well the interesting thing is they are in terms of three point volume only two teams of taking fewer fewer threes than them as a percent shot attempts San Antonio in Indiana who are playing from a different decade The Lakers taking more threes than that surprising for Lebron team. And I know they're applying big and all of this but for a Lebron team to take that few threes is very very surprising. Yes and yet they're effective anyway just because of you know all the attention that either of those two guys draws. It's just giving everybody else so much room to operate in also Lebron. Ad By themselves are almost impossible in the when the brown deer on the floor. They're average they're scoring at a rate that would be like second or third in the league among all teams select when their core guys are on the floor. They're scoring really really well. Yeah it. It's my question about them was never going to be about whether Lebron eighty we're good fit. Obviously there are going to be great and they are great it was always going to be about the supporting cast and it was always going to be about what happens when as we are now a D.. has some shoulder concerns and Lebron is turn thirty five next month and at some point. He's GonNa miss some games. Who are they when when those guys aren't available now you can? You can play that game with every team. That's built around a couple of of top-level stars. But where I where I leaned like a lot of people toward the clippers. uppers over the Lakers in in preseason guesswork prognostications that we all do like they've got Lou Williams and they've got this Lou Williams mantras Harrow. Thing that is its wouldn't entity that is completely separate and apart from an effective on its own apart from Hawaii. Leonard and Paul. George and the Lakers don't have that third guy that you could just say. Go get US buckets. Just go get us. Twenty twenty five. Maybe thirty on a night. Especially if one of our guys is is is hurting or or having off night. Lebron had that game recently where he would have ten or eleven points points or something still a triple double. They lost to whoever was that night. But they don't have that other score they don't have that other guy who could just step in and say I got it tonight so you know long term over the course of a season that might hunt you at times. But they're still a team that when we get to April May and possibly June you know as long as the brown deer healthy and playing the way. They're playing yeah. They're everything we thought they would be. I the Kuzina pieces piece is going to be interesting. Because they have a lot of they have a lot of ways they can look. They can put Lebron Davis and a traditional center. No coups MMA thing Pingo. Lebron Cosma Davis They can go. Lebron Davis at center no coups muscle three guards in those guys. is usually see how they integrate Rondo Because I do like the idea of When Lebron is out of the game and Davis is in the game which should be their general rotation right? They play a few minutes here they were both of them are out. Like I. Like Rondo and Caruso playing with Davis give him as much ball handling as possible. He doesn't have to do everything all the time he can run. Some he can screen dive like he's always done but I just they just have a lot of little a lot of different kinds of identities. Now that they have their whole team back in and all of them look pretty Crispin part of the reason is a lot of involve Lebron Dean like. It's not that hard to look pretty Chris when you have those guys an Ada has just been like when it's when it's Braun and aid the and one of Dwight in jail. It's not it's not always pretty for Anthony Davis like because there's another big guy mucking up his space so when he posts up on on the left block. Someone's right over there on the right block. Which means he's going to have to get to the rim fast through a very narrow corridor of space? Take it up there and finish and you know what he does. Because that's what great players do great players screw up your defense great player Stich situations that are imperfect and make them work at. He is going turbo through for those tight spaces taking fouls finishing. It's just been really really impressive. I I would like to see him space to the three point line a little bit more. You're when he's not when he's either pick and pop in which was to do every once in a while or when he's not in the play like when he's when Lebron is running picking roller jail and Dwight because he'll sometimes catch the ball and then dribble in to a nineteen footer. which isn't great but other than that? I mean they look if they can sustain this kind of play from their centers. That's been the biggest story to be of their season if these guy- if they're really getting thirty whatever quality minutes a night from those guys this is. This is a better team than even we anticipated. I I think we were both optimistic about the Lakers. Yeah the other thing is that I think there was some reasonable. And then also some gratuitous is a concern trolling about Lebron his health and his ability to bounce back I was never one who thought that last season meant. That was the end of Lebron as we knew him The injury like knocked him him out for for whatever four to six weeks and he was never himself again and also there was nothing to play for so he puts up two thousand seven hundred and eight anyway and everybody says but it's empty and they didn't make the playoffs offs and he stopped playing defense entirely all right fine. There was nothing to play for and they had a really weird roster around him and it was poorly built and they've got a better group coming coming back. Obviously on Anthony Davis addition alone but Lebron James even in your seventeen and on the verge of his thirty thirty fifth birthday is still killing people and is still able to control the game outright at all and and the reason there what would you say number one defensively to number one of the defense over Utah. He has a hell of a lot to do with that. He he's still capable now. Are we going to see that every night through a regular season probably not. It's probably not even wise for him to do that if he's expected to play deep into June but Lebron James is still like I said before the season started I was was really queasy about all the lists and when I was asked by Sirius. Xm To do my or our own rankings of like. Who are you going to start a team with? I still put Lebron number one. Like someone has to absolutely positively like he either has to fall off a cliff almost literally or somebody has to comp- like just definitively displace him before. I'm ready to say Lebron James is still the number the best S. player in the NBA. Hawaii has also slowed down after a hot start and looks in some games like worn down already he. He's his turnovers of gone way up. He's had a lot of bad shooting games at them. Become acceptable shooting game. Season goes on these four blitzes And and Colli. I mentioned him because he was sort of the consensus. Like that's the guy if it's not Lebron that's the guy may be honest honest You know I think the how. The conference finals unfolded last year. I think colored that discussion to shaded in incas direction but Yet Lebron has been really good. Can you just just stop stop with the Not Washed member. People said I was washed belong in the cleaner. Whatever the jokes are no one said man like everyone? What they said was your number five instead of number one which is a which is a pretty big tumble for him for him? That's washed. I guess I guess lebrons Lebron's mind that's people saying he's lost his like people were like no. You got injured for the first time. That's little scary given your age and your minutes like it's totally reasonable to expect. Small little declines every year until you decide to retire and by the way Lebron could probably place at least forty five you want and people like you and I would sit there and say no no. He's not quite who he was but he's still amazing but there certainly are a lot of people there who can't wait for that. Drop that that that that serious. Drop off the cliff to happen. who were? I don't know I don't. The people used the word washed but people were very eager. I think to see that happen or I think just concluded and again I kind of understand it when his team misses the playoffs playoffs for the first time ever since his rookie year and he looked at times like he did and he missed a bunch of games because he finally got hurt. People are saying well look at all the miles. Look at all the minutes. Look at everything else. If they wanted to conclude that that was probably the end of the Bras we knew him. Like I. I kind of get it. I do think people were rushing to that too fast. I and I do think yes to your point the the Bronx over playing that a particular line of criticism that he can you know dunk on people negatively work Liam. Yeah he does still dunks on. dunks people there if there's one little blaring warning not warning sign warning sci-fi strong if there's one little thing just to just to watch with the Lakers they're not getting to the line very much. Add they're like twenty six or twenty seven throngs garage way down And jump shooting. Outside of Danny Green has been really bad so if you look at a little cleaning last has their little shot shorts from where from everywhere. They're second they're shooting seventy one percent at the rim so so that's blaring orange orange. His good everywhere else is dark. "Is that real. Is he going to commit to being at least an average defender which he's been this year if that's real and you have better ball handling and a better feel for the game game. That's an interesting player on a good team. I don't think he will ever be like an advanced playmaker. May I don't think he'll ever be guy who hits the roll man with like really artful passes. I don't think he will ever advanced to the point. where it's like he's manipulating? He's anticipating and manipulating the defense and making the passage. You don't expect like regularly. I think you'll be good at making the passes that you mostly expect. I don't see him advancing to that level as a playmaker. And if he doesn't advance that level as a playmaker I just sort of wonder what his place in like fifty five win. Ecosystem is but he's demonstrably better player. I one I think his own evolution might be the difference between what what he's doing on a bad team versus being on a team because he might be the key to them being a good team Because towns is already a stud and by the way they're seven and four they're good team now but the other thing is here's here's a curiosity I especially as you mentioned you know teague and everything else and this is what I started wondering in my own had the last few days does this team need and should it still want to trade for de Ngelo Russell. Because now you've got that primary ball handler and playmaker. Wear rare wiggins doesn't have to to to shoulder all that however Dangelo. Russell seems to be at his best at least individually when he just gets to control the ball a lot so I I think it's a really interesting the other thing. I wonder because nobody knows him better than the people in that building I wonder if some woebegone franchise called Gerson roses right now was like buying high. Whoa let's here's an offer? Would he have the guts the temerity temerity good words sell high on Andrew Wiggins with all of this goodwill and all of this like the guy we got a we. We didn't draft him. But we essentially Kinda almost did right like you know betrayed. Never played a game for anyone else. I I I just I would love to be in the room if like Charlotte called 'em was like a PJ Washington to future I sa- matching salary. Would it what do you think I would love to be in that room. Be a tough one. I mean that that's one of those ones where it comes down to just making that up to be clear we we and all all NBA media and fans are having this discussion of of you know. Is it real or an illusion. Are we buying or not on this new Andrew Wiggins and his and this is gonNA sustain in it and keep going condense trajectory keep going but they have to of course have that same discussion there and as you say they know better than anyone so it what is their level of belief that not only has he reached a new level that he can can can stay at but that there is still other levels to go to Because if they believe that you absolutely keep him if you have any doubts then yeah you you put them off on whatever sucker out there wanted to give you the best trade aid package and teams would their teams that always you know they. They need injection of of life and and excitement. The wolves have been confident in his trade value. I don't think it was ever a discussion. We're selling low or it. Were paying to get off them. I think there's been confidence that if and when will get value and but I don't think there's a I think they're having a conversation. I think there are thrilled. I think they're thrilled and happy story. Ryan Saunders little to have a great relationship. I think it's a wonderful story Here's some Wigan stats last. Three minutes of games within the last With when the scores were three. He's nine of fourteen from the floor so far this year. some some tracking data last season. He ran fifteen pick and rolls hundred possessions this year. Thirty four so that took to the to the volume. I about one point per possession when he shoots out of a picket role or passes to somebody who suits immediately. That's pretty good Broader points per possession when like on any trip that has been running pick and rolls like almost one point one. That's really good. He's passing Asu way more often on the pick and roll this year by percentage so like all very healthy signs for Andrew Wiggins. It's been one it's been a really fun story and again did did of course. These are sustainable. All you have to do is keep making these the better smarter decisions that you've just shown us you have the ability to make and I think they've got a A group there in terms of coaching staff and organization that I think is going to keep coaxing in that direction or giving him the right feedback. And I think there's every reason to believe that this can and should sustain people. Do you ever feel like ticketing websites. Make getting through the event difficult on purpose is if they're so big.

"Enough next. Let's go on to talk about two major early season stories and I wanna Wanna see your temperature on them Howard Beck of bleacher report of Brooklyn. Do you gardens now do. Do you believe Andrew Wiggins I think I do. I don't WanNa get taken for a ride here here. I don't want but you know what I was watching them last night. He doesn't. He looks like a different player. Not just shot selection not just aggression going to the hoop. It's not just defensive attentiveness. He's smiling a lot like he looks happy. He looks comfortable like they. Don't say the word joy don't you dare say joy. I said happy and comfortable Canton. The joint wait. Why are we striking joy? His joy as joy is like cultures too much has been said too much fair. I mean I'm not buying okay. We look across the board in points. Rebounds Cysts Affect Field Goal percentage like. They're all career highs that those are those are all good as GE steets pointed out a tweet There was like a eleven game span. I jotted it down. He tweeted this. There's eleven games span. The first one eleven games of two thousand sixteen seventeen scene when he was averaging twenty seven point game with splits a forty nine fifty to seventy five so he was basically say. That's Canada on Canada violence right there. This is Andrew against against from skeets as I expected Canadian propaganda. That was like a it was. It was his Roger. Daltry won't get fooled again. tweet going old school so I like I. I get that I get the cautious like pump. The brakes even in Canada but it the timberwolves look like a team. That is I can't say enjoying because there's joys in the middle of enjoying sure all right they're enjoying who they are The there is this there seems to be a palpable connection between Ryan. Saunders and this young group They've got good players around him. That I I. I like what they're doing with all these these Long Wings things with Covington and Kover and Wiggins You there's two kinds of underachieving when you're young player in this league right or two kinds of a i. Is this guy going to be better than playing right now. Can he pull out of this If you're a guy who has the talent. But you just don't know what to do with it. That that was where wiggins was trending right all this natural athleticism and size and ability and he was hyped. From the time he was like fifteen years older thirteen whatever the makeup was all there and then it was all like we'll do you. Do you know what to do with it. And then there are the guys who are just they they just may not have it they just they'll does either. Never learn to shoot or they'll never have the the the the athleticism or the or the whatever wiggins already had all the other stuff that you need and it was just a matter of putting together right or channeling it in the right direction making smarter decisions with the ball taking better shots. And that's what he's doing right now. So is this sustainable yet. If cut out a ton of your mid range and you're you're when you're attacking more you're driving more. I looked some of this up. He's like twenty third in the NBA. Right now in drives per game at a thirteen point eight a game he was at seven point. Wait nine per game in sixty nine th last year. So he's driving more I don't think he's getting more free throw attempts as a result he is. He's he's taken the ball toward the rack more often. And and if you look at his splits in terms of where he shooting from it he's he's way down in these sixteen feet to to the three point archies way down ten to sixteen feet like he's making smarter decisions decisions with the ball and so yeah that's stable just don't revert told that habits the thing that I'm most curious about is the playmaking because this this this balloon and assists he's up to three point. Six per game for the season is like five five and a half in this. This was last five six games. Whatever it is the best play making his has ever done the wolves going four out and really five out? If you include towns. His made playmaking much easier for everybody because the reads are just easier. There's there's no bodies cluttering the lane the easiest assist to get in the NBA is dribble round. Pick get like north of the foul line kick out to an open shooter. That guy makes a shot. That's that's it's good. It's just not that it's not by MBA centers not like advanced playmaking. He's getting a lot of that And he also racked up these assists until last night with teague enable hurt and he was kind of the defacto point guard. That's like a perfect storm of you are going to pile up assists by the away some of these assists. I went back and watched just because I I'd seen the wolves last three ends at NC. Last night I was I. Let Me Watch wiggins ball screens and assists. He got an assist I. I wonder what happened to these assists. He got an assistant. I checked the play by play log. It was lauded as an assist. He entered the ball to Navan land. The Post Nova only only dribbled five times and made a jump Hook and Andrew wiggins got an assist. I assume that those are quietly rescinded and we never hear about it because that's not an assist that's just the different. That's probably why that stuff goes on a lot in this league. There's somebody else was pointing one of these out with Lebron. Lebron has had some everyone has some but this one was like especially egregious alike. You and I could have thrown this past. I will also say though there was at least one play last night maybe two were wiggins like was like threading the needle and like like like really nice passes not just the kick out to the open shooter but like on the move guy cutting towards the basket kind of me the biggest change has been and and they were all linked together. His handle is better and you can see he has a little nifty ineligible. where he he uses it to both throw his own defender off balance before four going around to pick so he gets even bigger headstart or sends that guy like smacking right into a pick or the big guy dropping on the pick and roll? He'll just get right around him with Algebra and go to the rim. His handles better and because his handles better he's setting himself up to have more space to drive in easier and more passes available to him That's that's legitimate. I do think he's a little craftier. He has a little more change of pace. Like it's not. It's not close to elite but sometimes they'll slow down with the ball. Aw almost get his defender on his back and like scan around a little bit which you never used to do now most of the time. He's still taking floaters out of that. Which is fine And so I he's he's making mostly paint by number passes with some of more advanced like slingshot to the corner that you already do every once in a while even even like bad Andrew wiggins would do something on a pick and roll be like. Oh my God I want that player. What where's that guy? Why does he show up? So He's definitely craftier. I just WanNa see if the passing really sustains I think it will for sure sustain and the four out system helps us to he just going to the rim as you said like. He's just not he's not mhm taking mid-range shots hardly any anymore and he's not particularly artful going to the rim but he's super athletic and so he just like when he sees a big guy backpedaling or standing there he just kind of goes Ataman jumps and like his elbows or in front of his face and like some stuff happens in the ball goes in. It's not particularly graceful. But it's working. He's I guess I'm somewhere in the middle where he's demonstrably better like it. This isn't just a fluke. Ten Eleven Games. He's a better basketball player. He's a craftier smarter basketball player. I'm not ready to say. He's like completely reinvented. And what is whatever people most optimistic projections. I'm not quite area but he's better and I'm interested. I'm interested now for sure. Especially because he was on that track of you know comes into league with supreme amount of hype again. He was he was a guy who was on the cover of magazine SL when he was fifteen. Whatever he comes in he supposed to be the next Lebron or the next somebody? You're the number one overall pick and you put up numbers and there's a certain amount of hype that goes with that and it's not that efficient ads fine hill you know. It'll get better over time. And then two three four years in and especially with all the the different ways we have a breaking down a player now with with analytics and tracking and everything else and you start to say He he seems like kind of an empty numbers guy empty calories guy and it sticks and he's in his sixth year and you know he's still he's twenty four hundred twenty five in February. He's still young enough that a light bulb or two can go on. But when you're six years in people start to think that this is just who you are and guys have it clicking at different stages and when you're the number one overall pick with all the scrutiny that goes with that and all the expectations and the contract that is a much harder horder thing to overcome and I love nothing more than a good redemption story and so if a guy is on the verge of is flirting with you know because he's the number one pick you start having the the bust word thrown around if you're flirting with that and and pull back from the edge and have the light bulbs go on and play a better smarter version. One of yourself you don't have to. You don't have to become the next Lebron or the next to anybody else. But he could become an all-star still he could become a really really good player in this league and that alone I think think is a great story. Yeah it'll be interesting to see how he looks with teague back fulltime and just sort of like what is he on a really good team I. That's that's a question. I don't think he's answered this year. Like what is he have to see how he sustains but like when he's not on a really good team is not gonNa have the ball in his hands this much he may end up having this much on this team. Because Jeff December day more But it net required in that touches on he shooting thirty six percent from three and looks more comfortable. Is that real. Is he going to commit to being at least an average defender which he's been this year if that's real and you have better ball handling and a better feel for the game game..

"That's a choice. You made eight. There are any number to configure a trade in this league. If you're going to take if you're going to tell a team you have to take our contracts within that is part of the payment an and and it is it is part of the payment. Your getting your. You're getting the benefit of getting rid of those contracts. Other things could have been in there instead if you weren't insisting on offloading Tim. Hardaway Junior Courtney Lee to Dallas or whoever else you might have gotten more picks you might have gotten players that could actually play for you or stick around instead of two vets who walked and a young player. Who even before this even before Dennis Smith junior became a nick there were plenty of people around the NBA who are already offering junior including the Dallas Mavericks who had been trying trying desperately to offload him so you could have gotten a better deal if you decided you had to trade now again you said it? An agrees eck there is a universe or multiple universes where this trade looks a lot better for the Nixon another year La better but just just less painful because it may not haunt them. If let's let's unrequited love now just less yeah low wunderlist for what could have been right And there's also a universe in which he returns to his old form and he and Luca dominate for the next ten years years as this phenomenal one two punch but they may come out of it. Okay I just. I will still say that. That doesn't justify the package the the return package they got on the day that they traded him. They could have done better if they weren't insisting on offloading contracts that were a deal. It was predicated entirely on a belief that they needed that.

"Aw everything that people warned about came to. Fruition signed too many big men. They don't have enough shooting. Their offense is clunky clunky and Yati and having a point guard Julius randle is a hog and they have no point guard that said and this podcast outcasts will now work as an if David still fired tonight. Ex post facto podcasts. I have I have no idea what David Fidel stands for. As a head coach I know in Memphis he stood for. We're going to modernize this offense. We're GONNA shoot more threes That because I think more personal relationships shifts with some of the key players earliest one key player. Marcus oil that went poorly this knicks team between last season and this. I have no idea what he's trying to do. I have a day. How he wants to play? They changed the defensive scheme constantly Every five games are playing a new defense Or you know they make tweaks which is fine but like you got offensively. I just don't don't know what they are and you can tell me that. Well what is he supposed to do he he. You know he's supposed to make beef stroganoff and you gave him whatever you gave them. Not The ingredients beef stroganoff. I don't even know what beef stroganoff is certainly and I'm sympathetic to that. But you know what part of a coach's job is to find an identity even when you don't even the pieces don't mix there have been coaches. who were given rosters that at the beginning of every season we thought that's not a good looking Rosser and they say you know what we're were leaning all in on this direction? The Lou Dave Eger last year. No one thought to kings are GONNA be good last year Dave Baker who played slowdown bully ball his entire NBA head. Coaching career looked at the Iron Fox. Said I'm all in. We're going all in on that. We're GONNA play fast. I don't know if it's GONNA work. But that's going to be our identity. We could cite other coaches who were given mediocre to too bad rousers and said riser. Fall succeed or fail. That's going to be how we play. And that's part of a coach's job and David fizzle has failed to do that. And the Knicks are worse off as a result but the first person to be blamed. The first head to fall should not be the coach. Because this roster was was commits shaping in ways that we all anticipated it was yes and I would just say that when we talk about you know. Coach has all these different responsibilities abilities. Right there's all these different ways. We can evaluate a coach and some are harder to evaluate another. Because there's so much that goes on that we do not see at all but one fairway to evaluate a coach especially the coach of a a young rebuilding type team or whatever is are they establishing some sort of identity. Do you know what they're about when Brett Brown got to the sixers and they were doing the process which was the most you know premeditated stretched out tear down. Whatever we've seen we at least knew along the way that they were going to be up tempo team? They were going to try to run a modern offense. They're gonNA look for for a shot to the basket and threes. He's when Kenniston took over the nets you saw the outline of an identity immediately and guys overachieved and they won more games than expected. And you Kinda knew what they were about about. And you heard people around the league even the sixers during the process you heard people around the league attached. You know what I like. I can see the Ellen with the building of the talent to pull it off and it was saying that it's the talent to do this well but I can see what their their goals are what their mission is as as a team offensively and defensively no in a year plus ninety. He's something games now. We don't know what Davis Deals What identity he's trying to instill in his team is or what their plan is? And that is a problem but I agree with you. He's not the reason season that they're bad. They're bad because they went not just all in on getting stars. They went all in on the idea that they were so sure they were going to get the stars and that would fix everything and make all their past errors all their past sins that they were willing to sacrifice the best player on their roster to do it now. Let's dislikes look at things a little dispassionately. Rj Barrett is good. Yes our Jaybird is going to be a good. NBA Player yes very good. NBA Player Mitchell. Robinson Johnson is good if he can get fundamentals a little better and stay on the floor not foul all the time. He's going to be very good NBA player. That's to Kevin Knox better this season. Kevin Knox looks now looks on track to be something. I don't know what it is but he does not look like the other. Catastrophe was last year. And by the way Knicks fans who think I'm too critical of the team. Listen to what I said about Kevin Knox last year. I said many times the way he is struggling is is exactly what I would expect from a nineteen year old kid playing his position in the NBA. And I was not at all discouraged. It I'm encouraged by what I've seen this year. Nil Akina China. I think has become wildly overrated by Knicks fans. Because every time he does anything they all start salivating. I don't think Neil Akina is a point guard in the NBA. I I don't think McCain is a starting point guard in the NBA. I don't think he's demonstrated outside of flashes. Here they're France Fiba wherever that he is a capable offensive player defensively. He's a beast offensively. It's not working. I don't think he looks like a starting a point guard right now could be useful then with juniors lost until further notice And who am I forgetting. Is that it. That's everybody for the for the young guys that you're that you're hoping to Barrett Robinson Knox is is interesting. They will have another another high pick in this draft. That's interesting I is interesting. Is I think Barrett is. I don't think he profiles as a number one guy in the NBA. I don't think he's going to be quite that good shooting. The free throw shooting makes me nervous. I think he'll be a very good player. What I'm seeing is not you? All of that needs eighteen pool all of those players even if they hit their ceilings are going to need a fulcrum that defines what their roles are that defines how the franchise which is plays in the Knicks. Do not have that. But that's not a sin. That's the hardest thing to get in the NBA. The most likely path to it is usually from teams. A high draft pick and but the knicks banked on free agency agency. It didn't work out but I do think they have some interesting young players. I just don't think they have something that brings it all together and by the way also and they're somewhat defense. I think it's on the table. I I don't know what's going to happen. Two KRISTAPS Porzingis. This is a rehab year largely for him if he struggles all season. I'm not GonNa read much into it. Okay but he's shooting forty percent He looks okay. KRISTAPS porzingis looks. Okay again let me be clear. I think this is a rehab year for him. I think the way he plays this year will be the minimum should be if he stays healthy. The minimum minimal baseline quality of play for his prime. That said there's there's a universe where there are many universes where in like five or six years. We look at KRISTAPS PORZINGIS and say. It's not awful that the Knicks traded him. It didn't work out the way. It looked like it was going to work. I don't know what's going to happen. mcgibbon his level of play. This season his health issues his body and all that I don't think it's like a lack doc. That kristaps Porzingis is a star for his entire career. I think again given that he didn't play for nineteen twenty months. Fine with is playing right now. She's not great like I. I don't I think every time he has a good game. It's just GonNa Blair on Knicks twitter behind her porzingas twenty eight and twelve. There's haven't been that many Greg Games this sure. Do you WanNa have on tonight. Yeah no in the context for him is of course that you gotta go back. Look at. What Zach Levine? Looked like when he came back from the ACL. Derrick rose from his yeah. It's it's you know Gordon Hayward back from his his Next year's the year if he's if he looks next year like just a pretty good player then just discussion veers a little bit into an interesting direction. The our judgments trades always evolves as. It goes right right. Like there's there's Day one we make the snap judgments everybody issues their grades which you know most of us loathe doing but you do it anyway because you you you do it on the merits on what it looks like at that moment was was this wise. Did they get enough to this team. Get extract enough for this guy all this stuff and then it evolves as it goes right and yeah it could look a lot different a year from now two years from from now three years from now especially if maybe Dennis Smith junior figures it all out maybe the Mavericks Crash and burn those turn out to be good but chances are those picks are going to be mid to late first rounders and those are not easy to just ace and chances are you just said it. Chances are maybe we'll see. Probably we'll see. Probably Luca enough is going to make them a very competitive team. And if PORZINGAS is even eighty percent of what he was before his acl and the Mavericks do a good job of putting guys around them. They're going to be competitive. They're not going to be crappy enough for those picks to be super valuable my main issue with the trade. There's two multiple things but here's a couple of them one is they had to do it at that moment. Of course they did this idea. The KRISTAPS PORZINGIS was going to sign his qualifying offer. If the Knicks had kept him is ridiculous loaded the same threat when the mavericks traded. And guess what happened. He signed a Max deal the minute they put it in front of his face so first of all the knicks are the ones who decided decided not to offer him an extension and thus make him put him in the position of being able to be restricted free agent or to to potentially sign a qualifying offer that he wasn't going to sign. So you know. It's it's on the Knicks that they did not extend him probably among the reasons that he was pissed off and wanted out by the way so they put themselves in position to have alienated him. One two they didn't have to train them when they did three. Even if you decided you should trade him at that moment you didn't have to use him as bates to offload bad contracts..

"Coaches the agents represent the most important players. They understand they. I know the deal and there was a time. When maybe you'd let that slide? Because you know what I really want to be a New Yorker I want to be in this market or I want to be part of this historic French. That's not important enough anymore. Will you what we saw this summer with the clippers and the nets was you could be that forgotten step sibling in the market. That gets you know one fiftieth of the coverage in the attention and the fan devotion Shen but if you're doing things right players entrust you with their careers in a way that they may not know what players don't want to do they don't want after a game answer questions about an impromptu press conference that they didn't even see because it's going on while they're shower that's what they don't WanNa do so lets so I don't know what the timetable on David. Steel's potential firing was if you told me if they lose to Dallas tonight he's fired by the end of the night. I wouldn't be shocked if he told me they give them a couple more weeks. If things are still going badly maybe they turn around. Maybe the Knicks go against expectations in winter. I don't know how would you evaluate his performance. Whose fault is this in? Where are we going whose fault? What is it that the Knicks are where they are or that this is in Dallas everything every that did that that the two thousand eighteen ninety? So I what I meant was that the two thousand nineteen twenty. Knicks are or not don't appear to be very good and linked to that. Is that the guy who was supposed to be their franchise. Player is not on their team. Well let's start with this. Nobody should have expected them to be good the season I. I don't know anybody expected them to be good. There were internal expectations that they would be competitive. And there's that there's another you know when you you think when you say competitive to me when front office people say competitive to me competitive but like like east competitive. My interpretation and I think this would be I bet. The Knicks brass would agree with this. Like frisky thirty five win team something like that. I don't think competitive -ment forty five wins. Forty wins whatever. Yeah no I most of us I think expected they were going to be somewhere in the mid twenties right so that would be a jump from seventeen to twenty five. Maybe things really break right. Twenty eight thirty thirty eighty five would have been an extreme stretch of my book and if you look at the computer models if you look at the Vegas over unders anything else. They were all in that range. I mean they're all in that somewhere like twenty six to twenty eight eight That they are not quite on that pace early on in a season where the changed out a bunch of pieces and they've had some other injury and stuff but like if they were a normal franchise. That didn't have all the baggage carried it in you would just say You know they're stumbling out of the gate a little bit like no one's worried about the Pelicans I mean I don't think they are elegant. Zion yes but also they've had some other bumps along the away early going here and they've got a lot of new pieces and so normally you would look at all the context and say let's not panic. I'm not even sure the Knicks Japan. And I say that as somebody who didn't you know obviously didn't have high expectations -tations for them and I think they could still be probably will be better than they've been so that's why you don't start firing off flare guns at the ten game mark. I still think they're probably better than what they've shown by the way I agree. They're better than what they've shown competitive means you're not getting blown out right competitive. Means that if you were to eight you're at least a couple of bounces away from being five even five. You're not you're not losing in blowouts. You're you're you look competitive. You look like a team. That's got it together. That has a plan that is that is Rowing in the same and direction. That is giving. It's all No they haven't shown that so. I think the bigger concern than the record is do. They look like they actually have a plan and that they're executing it and that this team. Actually she does Want to be competitive. I think I think there are some serious concerns are potentially but again it's really early to be to be panicking about that. WHO'S FAULTS I? I mean look this this goes to another one of these these these alibis. That has now been trotted out there. By a certain part of Knicks Fan Damore and probably from the Knicks themselves. You're trying to rationalize where they are and rationalize the porzingis trade it partially goes like this We're rebuilding we. We we we we we. We did the right thing. We cleared Cap Room. We got extra picks other teams do that and you praise them. How come we're not getting that praise we'll tell you why because you're rebuilding? The buildings started like five or six years ago and the payoff for rebuilding is high draft. Picks you lose you get high picks and you hope that you that you golden one of them. Well the Knicks did they got Now I get it I. He tore his ACL and at the time. The trader to me hadn't played in a year. But you got the payoff for the for for the tear down or for the rebuilding. You had the guy to build around or at least a guy who was young. Had made an all star team and could be an attractive piece that Kevin Durant Kyrie Kyrie Irving or other guys might want to come play with and you sacrificed him to offload bad salary. That you yourself put on the books it's not the right use of that incredible asset. He was a top twenty player at the time he went down. Top Twenty top twenty five and he might still be again. You can't say this year. One of a rebuild they've been rebuilding in perpetuity ever since that fifty four win season in twenty twelve two thousand thirteen and part of the problem. When you say well how did they get here? Why are they in this position? Look at what they've done since then Bouncing from Donnie Walsh to Glen grunwald to Steve Mills to Phil Jackson Tobacco Steve Mills. That's all just since the fifty four win season. I mean that alone. Coaching you've now gone from from Mike Woodson to I guess to Derek Fisher to Kurt Rambis to Jeff Hornicek to David physical. I'm not surprised herb Williams didn't and come back and then there somewhere used to be you'd get a couple of weeks a couple of months And along the way here's what they did draft wise. You brought up on your earlier. I'm I'm glad you did so the year after they went fifty four they they. They crashed to thirty seven. I like the fifty four months. which by the way was completely predictable? Yes completely do you predict right now. I didn't think it was necessary that bad but it was. I have the receipts on this one. It was very predictable at thirteen. Fourteen Knicks would take a huge step. Back Y- ah because in large parts so much of their success in that fifty four win season was tied to some of the veterans they brought in chiefly Jason Kidd but also Rasheed Wallace. Kurt Thomas Marcus. This can be Every everything was about these older dudes who didn't have a lotta miles left not to mention ca careers from a couple of guys anyway. They crashed rush to thirty seven. Wins and so on the twenty fourteen at the end of the twenty thirty two thousand fourteen seasons you should get the path of crashing and burning. But you don't why they didn't have the twenty fourteen first round pick. That was the final payment in the Carmelo. Anthony Trade so they didn't have a pick their next year The drop to seventeen wins and they get porzingas. The next year they went thirty two games and they're in the lottery again but they don't have a draft pick. Why are Andrea Yanni and that trade a trade? By the way made by Jim Dolan as the Carmelo Anthony was. Ultimately he'd hijacked that trade from Donnie Walsh. He hijacked the Barney thing or he's doing push that through over Glen grunwald objections. Ah reported this in the past. I've cited before. It's that's the thing that's the thing it's a thing. So they have no picked out your so the year after the porzingas they don't get another another pick to try to pair with him It would have been the number nine. Pick the raptors end up with it and get an pertile however guys who are still on the board. I'M GONNA play this game. D'Amato bonus John Murray. Oh and Pascal. Siaka can't just take a second. I am the driver over the past Gal Siachen Bandwagon. What he is doing is beyond the imagination of the driver of the Pascal Siachen Bandwagon last night in the fourth quarter in Portland against the Portland team has four and eight and needs to start asking some hard questions you know? They've gotta let injuries he. I think I had maybe Kent based more on him on a switch backed it out. TOWARDS HALF COURT DRIBBLED COGNAC celebrated towards camp as more decelerated and popped open three from the top of the ARC and nailed it. And I'm like Whoa this dude. It pass the Greatest Improvement Movement story that I can remember in the NBA. He ever seven points a game two years ago. That's not like five years ago. That's two years ago. Yeah the he's averaging twenty seven points a game the acceleration of his improvement because thinking like Jimmy Butler comes in as a thirtieth pickiness. I three years averages. Like five point three points or something and Jimmy Butler makes you know massively tall NBA. But I don't know if it was as as sudden and as as spectacular Go through the throw away so I don't WanNa go that Neil akina and then knocks and then so anyway they they haven't they haven't nailed so they've been to the lottery most years the years that they had to actually have their pick but they missed two two picks. It just didn't have other years. They have not nailed it. And that's what happens if you if you look at the Orlando Magic for years. Look at the Sacramento Kings for years. If you're perpetually bad and then draft poorly and don't make other other any other smart moves along the way this is where you end up you don't end up having guys around and so a guy like porzingas looks around and of all the other reasons why he might have wanted out he probably. It looks around and says well where. Where's the hope here? Where are we going and let me be as clear as I can the fault for the twenty eighteen nineteen twenty knicks? Being bad if they end up being bad lies mostly with the front office. who made the choices of the players that are on the team absolutely.

"And now the welcome to the low post hosts PODCASTS. Live from a small studio in our seaport facility in New York City New York where we are about five hours from tip off of the Porzingas Bull. God knows what is going to happen by tomorrow morning when some of you listen to this podcast in an honor of the Porzingas bowl it is time to say hey the three most important words in niche NBA basketball podcasting. What a back? What Zach Wow this is this is different. I'm disoriented. This is very sorry. I'm used to being in your your spacious cavernous studio on the upper west side and no longer exists. It's gone on it's gone it's gone. Wow wow poor went out for the old studio you know what else might be gone pretty soon. Wow look into that segue By the way I'm going with PORZINGAS PALOOZA as opposed to pushing his bowl. I like a good Palooza. I just like bowl because you it's like it can also be toilet bowl like like it also could be a it also could be used to call when the nets and the Knicks. Were both bad. I would call that game the toilet bowl. Yeah appropriate So you you were on the Knicks. Speak for how long. Seventeen thousand years It only felt that way the better part of nine years I it was eight straight I went over to the the nets for their debut in Brooklyn for a few months times one and meet it too because it was a moment a momentous event to have sports pro sports back in Brooklyn and then about halfway through through the season people got bored of the nets and the Knicks were on their way to to what was at As we now know their best season in a twenty year span the fifty four one year and so I went back so The better part of nine seasons Yeah well here we are. Do you feel like you've never left. I mean I never left if New York so like the the Knicks are never far from my my my gaze I guess or You said that you and I we we live here. We are surrounded by tortured Richard Knicks fans. which is a redundancy in itself because all knicks fans are tortured? So let's let's discuss the KRISTAPS Porzingis game on January thirtieth of this year. The Knicks traded kristaps Porzingis. Tim Hardaway Junior Courtney Lee in. I think that's it because I've stopped carrying at that point just to the Dallas Mavericks for her to future first round draft picks Twenty Twenty One and twenty twenty three Dennis Smith Junior. Who you know? It's he's gone through some personal tragedy but before and after that he just looks like a completely broken basketball player and Wesley Matthews once. Nicole is a neck and the Andre Jordan delete recruiter recruiter for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving who helped recruit them to the other team in New York. Now porzingas plays the next tonight. Let's also review this. The Knicks are two and nine they are the worst team in the NBA. The warriors who are A. G. League team with with a couple of good players and after loss number I believe seven of of those nine Or eight of those nine Steve Mills and Scott Perry. The President and general manager of the Knicks respectively held an impromptu or were coerced into an impromptu news conference in which they said why are we just felt it was time to address. You guys the media Ten game mark a set to a temperature take. I hope they do it. Every ten games gas twenty game mark. Let's do a temperature. Take which certainly seemed like a the coaches next. If things don't change press conference what are we to me. I don't even know where to go. I like what are what are you. What are you expecting tonight? What are you expecting going forward? Forward how did we get here. I just don't even know where to start. Oh I'll let's start with that press conference because if there's nothing else that we've learned about the knicks over the last five to ten years especially it is that they don't do press conferences. They don't do access. They don't do accountability. They don't talk whether that Steve Milton. Scott Perry whether whether it was Phil Jackson whether it was Glen. Grunwald go back to Donnie Walsh. Who talked to US almost every day? A period that I lovingly called glasnost because it was the first first time that the knicks actually were accessible. Donnie Walsh and Mike Dean. Tony came to New York and acted like their normal selves and operated the same way that they had with prior franchises were they. They were successful and talks to the media so on the record sometimes off Chitchat. Whatever they were accessible in this era or every era since then the Knicks Knicks especially at the front office level? They hide ownership doesn't talk. GM's and presidents don't talk except when they have to couple times a year. preseason maybe if they make a trade maybe if if they make a draft pick other than that they're not checking in at all now you might. You might bump into them somewhere in a back hallway and have a conversation and they do that. They don't talk on the record. They're not accessible. They don't talk about the Knicks. Were the only team in the NBA. Let me point this out the only team in the NBA did not have a single president. GM or head. Coach coach addressed the media in a meaningful way during the entire twenty. Twenty twenty twenty two thousand nineteen getting ahead of myself off season. They struck out. The issued issued a bizarre statement on June thirtieth would not talk the entire summer so this is not a a a a a group that is usually compelled to speak publicly unless unless they are compelled. Let's compelled. Yeah so I'm going to assume with a very high degree of certainty that Steve Mills and Scott Perry spoke the other night right because Jim Dolan had one of his meltdowns and told them go. Do something go say something. Yeah I think all the reporting is indicated that all the reporting I've done is indicated that that was a JD. Eddie and the straight shot production and it needed a musical accompaniment and so for years and years and years you would you would you. I would of this phrase. You would other this phrase Knicks fans. What are their utter this phrase? Can we just be a normal team and that usually meant instead of trading a future first round pick for Andrea Bernini who everybody knew was bad. Everybody knew was bad. It wasn't like he was still frisky. At that point. He was bad is a bad basketball player. You be normal. Meant how about we stockpile draft picks how `Bout we don't throw ourselves at every fourth year star free agent. WHO's GONNA put us in cat prison? How `bout instead of using the Amnesty Provisions on Chauncey billups in some sort of bizarre move and we have just waved him instead of guaranteeing his contract x. days before we use it on a Mari Stottlemyre who's broken And to the Knicks credit credit. They started to do stuff like that under the Phil Jackson which I think largely did a bad job but they would acquire extra second round picks here there. They would acquire extra assets here and didn't trade any away. We'll give credit if nothing else gives Phil Jackson Credit for one thing under his administration for look at last accept trade. Anyway I only meaningful like Antibi- meaningful. I mean gene moves. The needle changes your life. Changes your franchise. The only one of those they got everybody went out of their way to immediately by by talking publicly about maybe trading amid taking agents that we we don't we don't have to rehash What did what did with PORZINGAS? Who is not blameless by any means in what ended up being what did Gwyneth Gwyneth? PALTROW's call it a conscious uncoupling. I think KRISTAPS Porzingis and the Knicks had a conscious uncoupling That was how she wants to rebrand. Divorce it's a conscious uncoupling sounds Nice. So here's what normal team does a normal team on June thirtieth after not getting Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving three three months after your owner essentially told the world we are getting Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving without saying those names. You don't release a statement now notably. That statement was not an apology. It was framed by us as an apology. US The media if you read it it just says we understand why some Knicks fans are disappointed. We remain excited about Blah Blah. Wasn't an apology even if it felt like when it wasn't an apology but a normal team doesn't do that. Normal teams was just security. We did we say nothing. We just go out and recover and do our job a normal team. When you're two and eight you just say nothing? You just say nothing you get in your foxhole you figure out a way to make it work or not make where you have meetings about. What do we do if this continues? Who's what's trade but you you don't send those guys out to to the media because you look like idiots and by the way that statement may not have been an apology but because read like one? Guess what it statement. You shouldn't have made on June thirtieth. We get to throw it back doc in your face every time you say we had a successful summer we got the guys we wanted to know. You really a normal just say like David Griffin. What are the PELICANS? Two and eight something like that. Griffis not holding press conferences reassuring the fans. It's like even if you think that that's an appropriate Response and sometimes it is. Sometimes it's called for you. Don't do it ten games into a season it sounds panicky. It looks panicky. It sends the wrong message. It sets the wrong tone. Look at what the coverage has has been every day since then. Everything is about. Phil's is on the verge of being fired every they telegraphed panic. They telegraphed complete. Just panic. Anik all it did was raise the temperature and what you should do in that kind of situation if you have any hope of getting out of this is to tamp down the temperature. Don't don't raise it. But that's that's what happens when you have attempts owner as Jim Dolan is and so I should take this moment to make this point because it comes up all the time. Same Knicks fans who are still kind of clinging to the idea that they that they have figured out that they are doing things differently. That Jim Dolan has finally gotten out of the way and is not meddling anymore. This is meddling folks when you call your president and GM in at halftime and rim them behind closed doors and then send them out at the ten gay mark to try to to calm the waters but instead actually royal the waters more that is meddling that is an owner who is still screwing with basketball ops and there are a bunch of other things I could get into about why. Why should never be absolved everything that goes on still goes back to him? Do not try to tell me that. He's not still their core problem and to your point. What do you think the players in the League are doing when Steve Mills and Scott Perry give that press conference when Scott Perry looks like he'd rather literally suffer diarrhea to Houston to run to the bathroom in the middle of the press conference? It was a hostage. Video admit was missing was a little sign that said help coat in coded language the rest of the players the people you are reportedly trying to court to come play on. Your team are doing the same things we're doing. Yeah they're laughing. They're you're watching twitter. They're looking at all the funny memes. That are going on the jokes there and this durant came out and said the knicks are cool like the like the players just like you and I are like what is wrong long. What is this circus? That's happening. The players are doing the same thing. I'd Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson who their own a very cool podcast. Now going on showtime they came on my podcast last week and and what I wanNA unprompted I asked. I said who you know. You guys were link for longtime. Give me your best and worst franchises I was not trying to set them up by the way to bash the next. But that's where it went for both of. They both lifted the Knicks and they both pointed to ownership as the primary cause and his canter. Of course we know how he feels about. He was my podcast. You know month or so ago. He said that's the the reason that they didn't get free agents this summer. Kevin durant without saying it kind of said it I mean points Dolan specifically but he said I mean we have all the evidence in the world to show that this is not just a media. Creations is not about us. This is about that. People.

Looking Back: Toronto Raptors Win Game 6 in NBA Finals

"So now we're past the NBA finals. Congratulations. At around raptors there, the champions of the basketball world. Now, the real fun begins involving that team Golden State Indian BA. Let's bring on Howard Beck was a terrific, terrific senior NBA writer for Bleacher report. He said, thanks to shell Pennzoil performance line. I'm going to go back to the finals Toronto Winston six. What word or words would use to describe that series? And what we all experienced and what we also with all due respect to the raptors 'cause they don't want their championship. I don't use the tip of their, their championship because their championship deserves all the plot. It's all the praise that, that they've earned that you're asking me just to describe the series weird. I mean. You know, and that was from the beginning, by the way, we roll back to clock McAllister a couple of weeks here. I said, even we're going into the series that this was going to be possibly the strangest or these the most unique final. Dive of are covered up covered eighteen or nineteen of them now. And the reason is we've never had a final start where the superstar each team was both in both cases possibly leaving. Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant that was unprecedented tone that these guys were so much in play remain. So, but then bigger than that was just the, the fact that Kevin Durant was not starting the series but was not necessarily out either. He was this spectre looming over the whole thing. And so even as the raptors one game one even as the warriors sweet out game to the real question was not. Well, how's it going, how matchups going to go? What's the moves and counter moves? And who's the better team? It was no Wayne is Kevin Durant coming back. And if he does that change the entire complexion of the series, and that alone made this series this finals, absolutely unique, and then all the other layers on top of it, the intrigue over, what he comes back the frustrations that have been reported about the with the warriors team. It's about not knowing when he was gonna come back is coming back Klay. Thompson misses a game on looney misses the game. Dread does come back. And of course goes down with that terrible achilles. And they somehow manage to, to be a game in a game six where they could have extended this thing. And Klay Thompson goes down with the ACO. We've just never ever ever seen anything quite like this NBA finals. I'm always a big believer that even if it's something is not a positive even if it's a negative is going to help sell it's going to get a lot of attention. How much do you think with all that going on really not only help the NBA, but further the NBA going into the future going into the offseason with free agency from the NBA is not having any trouble getting attention? These days ratings are generally great, tennis, great their credibly popular period. I think the NBA is fine regardless what I do. Think is positive coming out of the series. I mean, let's, let's go just the fact that we've got free agency coming up first NBA free agency, NBA transactions have become like its own season in its own its own category of story. So there's the basketball in the NBA is very proud of the quality about four knows. I think they should be there's all the other stuff in the NBA is more than happy to have all the other stuff the transactions in the rumors. They're they're fine with all of that. It's, it's, you know, teams may not like speculation about their player and the player may not always like a is kind of sitting there going, you know, it's fine. You know, people are talking about a lot the tweeting about us, and they're speculating, and it's fine. But in terms of the finals, and how it impacts NBA popularity I think it can only be good for the league to have the raining. Super team. Not just lose as the warriors did. But all of a sudden very moral because Kevin Durant is probably not gonna play next season even if he stays. And I don't think he's staying Klay. Thompson may not play all next season if he stays, and I think he will stay, but the warriors won't be the warriors next season. So after all, these years of people saying it's a fatal complete the season is meaningless. We're just waiting for the warriors coronation. Well, that's not going to be the case anymore. There's no you know, we have warriors Cavs for four straight years. And then we had warriors Toronto next season next June. We're going to have a completely different finals, Leonard leaves, the raptors will have a different entrance from the east also. So if you if you're a fan of restoring some equilibrium, or not wanting a super team that just dominates too extreme measure than we're gonna good place where things stand right now because there's gonna be

"Is that person willing to carry the load and all the expectations that come with it after the Knicks got everybody's hopes up by all the moves. They made this is going to be a big big summer and then it's we've got an injured Katie, that we're waiting on for a season possibly a full season. It could be less, but it could be a full season missed. And he's gonna come back at age thirty two in twenty twenty will often achilles. I'm hoping for the best as we all are. But we have to be realistic and note that the history of guys coming from achilles is biz checkered at best, so we don't know. And so that second player that the Knicks are trying to get is on his own for a while, that, that, I think that factors into this, too, and, you know, the Knicks after consider that the other player mystery max player x has to consider that. I dunno. I also, by the way, just think this to, yes, of course, if you've got caporal him for years, one, sixty four for, for K D, one of the greatest players of all time, I guess you have to do it, but. It might not go right? That might not in the Knicks have a long history of having made bad bets for a lot of money on players with injury concerns coming in Mari Stoudamire. Alan Houston penny. Hardaway. You know, the head mcdyess is deal. They had to deal mcdyess. I don't think there were warning signs there that just got him. And then he then his, his leg blew up, but it was it's still they've got a long history of having big contracts on injured players that have hampered them. And does that at least give you some pause? Well, let's pause here because we do have an MBA final sort out. We will be at oracle arena for the very last time tomorrow. Howard beck. Do people always love when you come on? "Happened. That's the last Cleveland year something happened. It's not sure what it was somebody knows. And they're going to write it eventually somebody knows not me somebody knows. But statistically, he was good. And he was at least like ninety percent engaged the two thousand ten finals. He just flat out wasn't. There wasn't there. And it's the real black Mark on his career. Yes. And I think really the only significant one the only one, and there was so much screaming before they finally won that Kevin arnovitz at the buzzer of twenty eleven twenty twelve rather when they won had an article ready and posted saying goodbye to all that. And it was just a sensually. Thank god. We don't have to go through this charade anymore because he won and the really the Teredo was was only real for that one series. Yeah. So well what we've been discussing this. I wanted to find it because I did not use this quote from Spoelstra. This was interesting. Maybe I should have jammed in there somewhere. It was already. The story was getting too long sponsor about eleven says, quote, I think it was probably meant for us not to succeed in that. First one it really set the table for the next two years a level of pain and experience that allowed us to win back to back and happened all that first year because of how that team was put together of maybe we might not have realized just how challenging it is to win. No matter what your team makeup is. So there is he's basically saying like this like this was kind of fate. Basically we had to lose to figure out who we were in order to win the next two. And I think that's kind of what what Dwayne telegraphed a little bit. And what he said to me as well. He's Dwayne Dwayne his fascinating. And I suspect at the end of this year, a journalist who actually knows him somewhat in Miami up just guessing I'm hoping will write something like I would read a book about Dwayne Wade like a real good book about Dwayne Wade out read in Croatia. Bring it with me. Go read the book. Anyway, the piece is called some Bleacher report today, it is called the ballot of Durkan Dwayne by the one and only Howard Beck, and you should all read it. "And it was does locally evocative is like a New York subway thing and suddenly and unexpectedly before the season. They unveiled this new thing that is just just says Brooklyn in white letters. And there's no was there's no nothing. It's just a font that could exist literally anywhere. It's clearly a dumb idea, and I can tell you this it happened very late in the process. Nobody the explanation. I got was it's somehow the fund is in their Brooklyn, Wiegel, hard font. It's the same font or it's somehow connected to their slogan. Hashtag, whatever it is. These teams do now where they all have to have the same hashtag. The team has to hashtag everything with Brooklyn, go hard or we go hard. It's the same fun. It's somehow connected to that. Or they wanted to have, you know, the, the the branding people when we have to have brand synergy, you have to, you know, brand we have to do the influencers and all the land brands synergy and all these made up gobbledygook that they say, so it's something related to that. And it's a terrible idea and so much to get fired flab Dublin Wednesday so much get fired. It's just it's just a bad idea. They over thought this they happened upon or chose or smartly decide on something very very cool and unique and evocative of their home market, and it was brilliant, and it got wide praise for it. And they and they scrapped it like. Why would you do that? It's one of those things where like I'm not sure how you can have like let's just make up a number like eight human beings in a room. And this idea is brought up like not one of them said this is done. This is dumb. It's like when Sumon just talk about device being the VP of common sense for a team. That's. What he says? Like, no one said, this was dumb, like not one person in the room was like, this is we have this cool thing. Everyone likes it. And this thing other things sucks. Like, why don't we not do it? I mean, probably it's not going to be the difference between whether or not they get Cohen, Katie next summer or not. But if those guys objected to the change on the baseline as like, this is also right rows, I work. If I were a superstar NBA player, and I went to meet with the nets. It will be like my fourth question, if I wanted to go if I was sitting it'd be like, by the way, I care slivered Keniakin sin, and like, you know, is there a cool place. I can live in Brooklyn. Then I would ask like what who's in charge of this decision. Yeah. Why did this happen? Yeah. And if made if my answer is not satisfactory or the answer did not satisfy me, I'll think outside what the Knicks, but I would sign with somebody else. I go to the clippers. Maybe. Yeah. I it would be important to me. Now, the clippers are as a as a condition of signing there. I would demand in my contract that I get to advise on the rebrand of the clippers. Is it evidently going to come whether they wou- or whenever it's going to happen. I need to say in that because their their stuff is a disaster. They're they're they're the. Yeah. Absolutely. Especially all the logos. All the branding stuff all the whole complete rethinking of that. But this is what I would care about. No, all right, Howard Beck. You can read all this stuff on bleach report including last week. He he released a wonderful piece on the clippers where Steve Balmer declared his intentions to be a free agency player, and why players should go there and slept. Howard Beck office feet. Almost Howard Beck was ready to sign up and be a defensive specialist for the clippers to really really fun story talked to the logo talk to everybody. So go read that listen to the full forty eight did who'd you have this week. You had RJ last week. Right. RJ RJ was fantastic. Grant Hill is the one that's up right now. Coming Monday hitters. "To get their customers to buy McDonald's jerseys to go with their hot apple pie. They would go with the bucks city jersey. You can't do first of all the best thing about the bucks. Current jersey their color scheme everything else. The buck itself, the logo is freaking awesome. And that green that forest green, whatever they've called their green. I'm going to call it four screen. It's just it's a really cool green. It's great entity vodka tive of where bucks are in the forest. Bright yellow is Yvonne native. Of the fryer at McDonalds. I just I don't like where's the bright yellow coming from the really strong take. I just didn't. I didn't see this coming and I like the bucks great organization is definitely the Muslim. But it's definitely the most polarizing jersey they actually had them. They played in Portland last week. They actually brought a couple to their shoot around to show people is they look better in person than they do in this image. Which sounds weird to say they look the same but say the feeling them and looking at them, they look they look a little better along with my powder. Blue problem. I also have a mustard yellow problem like the the Lakers jersey this year. Is this weird brighter? Yellow do you have any insight into this? You have any Intel on like, it's not my TV. My TV is not changed. The Lakers yellow looks yellower and the nuggets have I don't have until the nuggets of had that brighter yellow jersey that I just bright yellow just burns my eyes. I don't need it. Especially if your your primary colors are really cool forest. Green. Howard Beck coming strong with jersey stuff. Wow. Just really going to have to. Wow. Anyway, Draymond green is actually going to speak to the media shortly at shoot around. I'm just saying that to make clear we set all this before the warriors emerged to the world today before we go. And before we leave the world of minutia, but minutia that both of us care deeply about have you gotten any explanation. All as to what the the nets did a I'm sorry sorry. Oh, what the the nets did about the baseline fiasco for those who don't know, which the normals listening. The nets had this wonderful. Subway tile, mosaic mo- so-called teeth on their baseline where the word Brooklyn was was rendered in in white letters, baseline brilliant..

"That's the that's the age gap with us right there. Symbolized by Atari, my friends had Atari. But like it wasn't universal the way. Like, everyone got Nintendo. Like Nintendo was the one that you skipped right past the coleco vision. Oh. I'm aware that that was a thing. I'm really dating myself Google. So so to the kids go to your Google machines and Google Atari breakout and look at at that color pattern, and with the blocks out because breakout was all about knocking out pieces of these colored bars these rainbow bars, and it it's very reminiscent of what the nuggets jersey was back. Then in that they have now revived with their city jersey. So yes, my my top three my number one of the city jerseys somehow are all just rooted in the eighties. I'm not sure what that says about me other than I'm old. So I really wanted to have a creative answer to this question. The answer is the heater. It's it's just so good. It's really good. And they're going to cycle through every iteration of this possible until they're done which is what they should do. They landed on a good thing. They should just keep doing. I even like the court. Have you seen the court? Yes. The court is awesome. Yeah. I don't know how you play against them. It's it's a good strategy. It's too. And then they start wearing the turquoise sneakers and the pink sneaker some of the guys wear. It's like, I don't know. I couldn't play. It's the best one. I'm sorry that it's not a creative answer. It's just awesome. And it's just awesome. It just it just is it's it's so fantastic. To look at the nuggets. One is great. Yet the heat one. I mean, I like a lot of them. But it's just I'll tell you what one that I like that is subtle the Boston one with the gold outlining of of the letter, which which hearkens back again to the eighties where yellow or whatever was like in their palate a little bit before it got out. I like the one, okay? What's the worst one real quick shout out to this was my my honorable mentions? I I liked the blazers. I like the nets. That's an easy one. I liked the Laker one. I like that like that that we're different purple. Have you seen it up close? I've not it has like I can't remember what it has on it like those black stripes that you can kind of get very subtle. You don't TV their words, though, they're like tiny little word like, I don't know if it's names of players that magic played with or something like that. And then the the clipper one because another here, I go again that that LA thing with the little lines that looks like it's moving or whatever is a little reminiscent of the LA expressly. Terrible. The clippers are terrible everything they do is like a knock off of something. They really they're like Walter all their art is just like WalMart yard. It's terrible. I just liked it because it was reminiscent of the L A expressive the USF. I agreed Jeff Pearlman. It's it's the worst. I had three and then I had to pick one again J. So my bottom three were no particular order at this point, the thunder, the low, actually, okay, I'm sorry. The bucks and the kings. Now, people are going to dial people are gonna clapback how learnings one Howard Beck. I am shocked. I am shocked shocked at the at the fact that put the kings on there or that I missed somebody entirely Joe. I just didn't think any of those were that like super objectionable. All right. So here's here's the thing. Sack. The kings one. It's that powder. Blue from their worst. Era that that early eighties and early nineties kings?.

"He's the guy obviously who won MVP during the one championship year in two thousand four. And yet Cianci himself broadly speaking has a really weird. Hello, this, this. This is one of the strangest things in the world by the way. And I'm sure this is happened before and somebody out there in Twitter world will will find it for me. Do you know when Cianci's first all star game was don't look at your computer? No, I'm taking Dennis Rodman stats reasons that I probably are obvious. I'm going to say, oh seven. Yeah, so, oh, oh, six. Oh six. So his, he wins finals MVP in two thousand four, two years before he's ever even a an all star and then goes on to make the all star team seven times. And by that by that time, he's already mid career like Cianci talk about your late bloomers and that's of course the story of his career, and it's one of those that makes him such a fascinating player. And he's one of so again, this one was I did a quick Google search and it brought me to to an NBA read at page that I assume they've got this right that the only other finals MVP Cedric Maxwell Cedric Maxwell to not be in the hall of fame, the others are all guys who will because they're still active and other. I want to talk about Andre Iguodala, right? So there are guys who are still active. So we were not to them yet, but we could get to, however this this, so so in ten years right now, the the people who think Cianci's should get in to look only one finals MVP is not in, but in ten years could we could have three finals MVP's that are not in and all of a sudden it doesn't look so silly for a finals MVP to now what co- is never the same and you have a force finals MVP who's not. Wow, does writing off Toronto collides just like that. Howard Beck writing off the raptors. They'll believe it. Rookie moulder the fans of the NBA X-Files reference one One time. time. I don't know how it ends. It makes me sad that this is why I was late to the sopranos because at the time that's Renos was actually on the air. We were X-Files devote as we were watching the x. files every Sunday night when sopranos was on. I also think I had HBO yet. That's all I came. I watch the sopranos like ten years later. People football is back. That means you have home games to go to and seatgeek as always the smartest. Easiest way to get tickets to every game, whether it's a last minute deal. You're planning night out. You want to go to a comedy, show a concert. They helped me get tickets to Hamilton. Recently,.
