2021 Running Back Rankings

"Back here ready to record our consensus running back. Rankings fellas. how are you doing. It's been a while two weeks away from two weeks and a day away. From that first thursday night football game then really jones in on some preseason football but ready for the real deal yeah same here. I'm glad to be back recording. It was a bummer miss last week. Especially with the running back episode coming up one of my favorite episodes record but like you said it was better to be safe than sorry so we took the same approach. And i'm looking forward to finally talking about the running backs and yeah like you said two weeks ago you guys. I'm excited. Preseason is great. But i'm ready for the real deal here. Yeah absolutely you know. Speaking of the preseason and running backs is there any preseason hype campos. That's kinda got you guys changing changing your opinions on any anyone player coming out of the draft. I was probably a little bit higher on michael carter than most but seen him in action and seeing the jets team definitely falling down down my rankings. There yeah. I definitely agree with you when it comes to. Michael carter was high on him. Just because of how good of a receiving back is but he's been working like as the third and fourth running back in preseason so even though we looked pretty good it worries me that you're not getting in until the end of the games right now so it's up to monitor c. H. is injury is also something that's kind of concerns me. He sprained his ankle. In the preseason game i loved the usage that they were showing and using with early in that game. But you don't want an ankle injury this close to the season. Fortunately it sounds like it wasn't a high ankle sprain so he dodged a little bit of a bullet but you don't want an injury that's close to the season so she h. Was someone who is higher up for me and he's gonna move down just slightly as we go into drafts here. Yeah one for tonight was David johnson you know the the usage there is really strange throat. This preseason. i don't know if he's been cut candidate or if he's going to make the team be and being a starting running back but that's just kind of a a lower. That was surprising. How how he's being used with. Ingram and lindsey as well so that was another another guy that i have. I lowered my ranking well. Yeah i'm super surprise there. Ingram and lindsey over david johnson. Would he has moved up in. Grammar lindsey at all then with only two backs there rather than three. Yeah i just two of them. Windy for sure. We'll take the jump. Be the one. I'd be the most excited to have. Yeah i don't think either one of them are going to move up much for me Bill lindsay would be the one that moves up slightly. But i have very little desire to get any piece of the houston texan offense. We have no desire for david johnson. So i don't think it's going to move him up much. But if it does come down to david johnson getting cut. Yeah would that would bump up a little bit for

Whats Next for Deshaun Watson Investigations and Texans

"Sarah barshop. you're our houston. Texans beat writer. Thanks for coming back on. Espn daily thanks for having me back. So the texans won their game saturday. They beat the cowboys. Twenty two fourteen. We're going to talk more about how the teams looked in a football context and a bed but the most notable fact of the entire proceeding. Sarah is the fact that texans quarterback to shawn did not play was surprising to you at all now. It wasn't because right now. The texans are kind of acting for the most part that he's not really part of this team in terms of him being on a football field in playing in a game and david kelly. When he talks about the quarterbacks he's mostly talking about the other quarterbacks on the roster. I mean they really. Don't talk about shawn watson in football context so he didn't play in the first game against the packers he didn't play against the cowboys and i'd be surprised to see him in the preseason finale against the buccaneers david kelly. Of course the new head. Coach of the texans sarah and yes to shawn watson sat out against the packers. The texans had one that preseason game also for whatever that's worth twenty six to seven but watson and how the team talks about him and his absences. How would you characterize how they do that. It's very much avoiding the topic. And from the very beginning. David kelly if he heard john watson's name really kinda of deflected the question and would say not much has changed. Or there's nothing new with watson even if that wasn't really an applicable answer to the question nothing new on the sean nothing new today on and last week for the first time. He talked about watson more and elaborated on him. Johnson here Again every day. He's here to in works he does. He does what we asked him to do. And you know he's here today but it was never really in a way of okay. He's gonna play in these games.

AFC South Football Preview: Best Bets, Picks and Predictions

"Kick things off and this may be more two minute drill as we go through the division in alphabetical order. Starting with the houston texans who find themselves listed at a robust twenty three to one to win the division their win total at fan duel. Sportsbook sits at four dollar twenty. Should you want to go under. It's amazing when you look at the houston texans overall profile just a year and a half ago. This very franchise headache. Twenty four seven lead over the kansas city chiefs in the playoffs. We were all talking about them. Maybe getting to the afc championship as cinderella. And here we are a franchise completely in shambles most likely without a franchise quarterback and really lacking direction When you look at the houston texans worse record against playoff teams last year owen. Ten and this is despite to shawn watson putting gaudy numbers but pain rather than breakdown. What the texans don't have on either the offense or defensive side of the ball. should we attacked a coaching. Hire david kelly takes over as the oldest first time head after twenty seven years of serving as an nfl assistant. I'm not really sure what's going on with the organization and we're seeing the market react in a strong manner. I mean this total has been blitzed from under five in this morning. You look some places. And it's four under minus twenty five so like three point eight five the win total here. So there isn't a lot of confidence in the texans. And you start to look at what this roster is and it's tough to find wins on the schedule with who they're going to be trotting out there. I mean we talked about to shawn watson. And how fantastic. He was over. The last five decades seven quarterbacks have had as good of a season as to sean had last year and they finished with a losing record. Only seven quarterbacks. In the history of this league have played as well as the shawn watson team finished with a losing record so an shawn watson texans last year. That was the worst record of any of those quarterbacks so it really just shows how talent void this roster is and somehow you mentioned the new regime bringing in an old coach in cali but the organization really doubled down on that approach and they've managed the impossible really of having the oldest roster in the nfl with below average cap space. It's not a good combination. And so you know you start to look at the four wins last year and how they achieved it and it was still an offense that was above average inefficiency thirteenth. And now you have this. Massive downgraded quarterback and i mean tyrod taylor is what he has. He's thirty two and the best attributes about him are his athleticism his quickness. How fast he is but at thirty two those of all those things and so this is just a monster downgrade. You do look at the schedule of defenses. That the texans will play its. It's bottom six overall and against the oh. There is some hope there. I guess defensively that is going to still be a problem. You're looking at a unit that finished thirtieth inefficiency. The schedule of offense is this year are going to be really good. Can be hovering around the top. Five rate in basically overall efficiency passing offense all of those key areas I i don't really know how this team's going to get to their win. Total and i think that's probably the interesting part about

Report: Deshaun Watson Trade Talks Heating up Between Eagles and Texans

"Reports are out there going back to the National Football League. Shawn Watson, right now glorified practice safety for the Houston Texans. They didn't now say he's been dealing with ankle injuries. Wink, wink, nudge nudge. That's why had they have not been out their quarterback in any kind of practice that if it's Simmons I saw that maybe just maybe. The Philadelphia Eagles, who have not committed to Jalen hurts, Nick Syriana, the head coach, say Right now there's no QB one QB two, but he's done some nice things. Reports out of the Philadelphia Eagles could be interested in to Shawn Watson. This may be the worst thing to do to a brand new coach is to bring in that distraction that has not been settled in that city that loves the e A. G. L E s eagles If they're even thinking about this Regarding to Shawn Watson.

"What are we doing with the shawn watson. That's what i want to know whether it's used in or these other teams that might get them or the nfl saying well. There's nothing against them now. But there could be i mean how are the markets handling this right now. What are we doing about if anything. I think the only thing you can do. I would do this. If he's playing or not that the houston texans under. I think there are about four and a half. Even if it was at four i would bet the under i think this is a organization that is in deep deep chaos and disrepair. I think that he does not have any legitimate talent around him. I think they brought in a coach. You is almost by default getting the job And that's if he plays all sixteen games or seventeen games now If something happens over the next four to eight weeks and there is an investigation that reveals. There is some of punishment that's warranted. It's possible he misses two games. Four game six games. And then you're playing with with you know almost an empty backfield so to me. It's an underplay on the texans i. I know there's talk about him being traded. I just don't see that happening this year. That's not really an advantage. Any team has in terms of getting rid of assets for a quarterback who's legal jeopardy is still undefined. And you've got to really know what you're getting into. And what kind of value. You're getting in terms of the complete ability to have him on the field before you're going to give up the assets that you really need to give up even if he's a little bit tarnished right now to get a player who arguably is a top five quarterback in the nfl and in the prime of his

"Some games, I would play with teammates. Yeah. Chris, let's talk about your gaming rig. How long did it take you to build this bad boy, what's under the hood? So, my gaming rig was kind of the culmination of me learning a lot about computers. Just quarantine gave me a lot of time to be in the house. And I was like, you know what, I'm going to learn how to build a gaming PCs. So, my gaming rig here is arising 5800 x 69 years. XG and tons of memory and my Ram speeds. It's a little volatile right now. We'll see if, with some updates I can. I can clock at higher, but I have some pretty pretty fast Ram in there. I just can't clock it up all the way and have the computer be stable, but it's a great rig, I can run and get high frames. I can get hundred, twenty hundred thousand frames at 4K. So, pretty good. Are you over clocking? Your CPU with this bad boy? I'm not. I'm not pushing it too far. I think that AMD is going to done a good job with their life decision. Boost overdrive is kind of their Auto overclocking feature. I played around with the overclocks, and when these chips first came out, it was it was a little bit volatile, you know, I could push it back a little bit and some days, it would be stable and it'd be fine. And other days, sometimes I would push it too much and it would become unstable. So I really just let it auto overclock and it's been doing great for me. You know, I've gotten five ten years. It was here. And and honestly not many monitors can run over a hundred fifty frames at 4K, so, it's, it's doing great. Chris, I am totally impressed when I first bill. My gaming PC. I just went to my friend who knew about PCS, he just gave me a part list. It says go for it. You were self-taught. So, you know, tip of the hat to you sir, appreciate it. I made a lot of errors on the way and some were very costly. But I think that, you know, quarantine it really pushed me to do stuff. That wasn't typical building your first PC. I built my first PC and five days later being born in the house. I was like, you know what, I'm going to learn how to watercool. I stripped it apart and I bought a different case. I had a Micro Center down to the street from my house. And I I literally learned how to hard to blow off school within five days of building my first PC. And I built that twice and then I went small form factor and I built in a mini ITX case. And I said, you know what, that's not good enough. And then I learned how to walk. Cool in a mini ITX case. And this all happened over the course of four months, it just makes you appreciate that much more to that. Not only you built it but you learn from this whole process, you know, through that off. Yeah. I mean if anything goes wrong with my PC I can fix it myself. I don't have to ask anyone. I just had a pump died in my streaming PC, and before we got on the interview today, I just drained that PC, took it apart, replace the pump, and put it back together. So I think that it's an invaluable information. And I've been able to help a number of teammates to who have gaming PCs when they have any issues. I can usually, fix it for him. I know who I'm calling, when my custom water loop system goes, goes bad. So thank you. I got you. Now, you're not just gaming on this battle station wage also reading screenplays on as well. Chris, you have to be the only athlete, I know who read screenplays..

"Man who does have a 38 E and has a vertical leap of forty-five inches. Is our guest tonight. Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a warm welcome for the wide receiver of the Houston Texans. Chris Connelly off the ability and off thing. Chris glad I have you here man. And thank you guys for having me. Congratulations on becoming a text. And by the way, you excited, throw on the blue and red jersey, I am. I haven't worn. Navy in a while since high school actually, so I'm looking forward to it. It's about time to bring the car back. That is, you know, and I'm looking forward to playing in an indoor. No, I'm playing a lot of extreme weather cold snow heat but now playing it an indoor. I'm looking forward to say that for sure. Definitely, for my feet you want that indoor air conditioning and be totally comfortable. I feel you. Exactly, you know, games are tough enough as is. So take a little back load off with the with the weather. It's a welcome change. Love it now, are you already making plans for the big move out to Houston. Yeah, yeah. So looking at a couple of different houses in the Houston area, getting ready for that move and we'll be heading out there within the next couple of months or so, very cool. So already making the plan. I got to figure out how you're going to get your PC out there as well. I know. So yeah, you know, I think at this point, my rigs here at my house in Atlanta are kind of big. So I think I'm going to just build a smaller gaming streaming PC and take that with me because these These are water cooled, their massive. And I don't know if I want to Lug that around the country, I feel you, man. Just just create a new build and you'll be you'll be set off. Exactly, you know, that's coping gave me a lot of time to build PCS and I'm a big fan of these ones that I got here. They were kind of my project PCS, you know, I'm a dumb, very stylized. One is themed, after my boss was Black, Panther the other ones themed after killmonger. And you know, I'm excited about them but they're, they're way too heavy to be traveling with. Now I know you're a total foodie. Please tell me you've all off. Put together the list of barbecue spots, you're going to be hitting up in the town. I haven't put the list together, but thankfully there's been a lot of Houston fans who've been in my stream and they've been dropping a bunch of suggestions in a Discord. And so I'm going to go to that list and I'm just going to hit them up, one by one and go and eat it all those spots..

"Is my guest for podcast episode 1 57. The general podcast right, So the NFL season is over for 18 teams, But that does not mean that the respect of news cycles are done. Not done spinning. Not yet Case in point, the Houston Texans when we start right there, the Texans just chased a pretty regrettable year, a pretty forgettable year with a really good higher, I think. They pry away the hoodies, long time right hand man, Nick stereo and he's gonna come around That show is GM not a moment too soon, because everything coming out of Houston was pretty sad and pretty depressing. And so that announcement yesterday you had the DeAndre Hopkins trade. The firing of Bill O'Brien. The four winds season and that's just the past. You look ahead. Look, the president, you look at the future. They've got a lack of cap space. They're not gonna pick until the third round to Shawn Watson. Shawn Watson, who never ever complains about anything at all. We're on record as saying the organization needs quote. Our whole culture, shift, better leadership structure and discipline and quote. You know, for dish on Watson to say something like that. I mean, if he's saying that they need those things. It means they don't have any of those things and the things that he's talking about are the most important things. And that's damning. Especially when you talk about a generational talent like to Shawn Watson. Did you're wasting And not just my words. But J. J. Watts is well, JJ. What was miked up as he left the field on Sunday after their 12 loss of the season? This is the audio Listen carefully. This is what JJ Watt Said when he was talking to to Sean, is they both headed towards the tunnel. Sorry. I'm sorry. Waste.

"The Houston Texans. This is Bill O'Brien, saying he was disappointed He couldn't get a Super Bowl for the Texans organization. We did a lot of good things here, but we didn't do enough. We didn't bring a Superbowl of Houston. Which I believe eventually someone will think this is a championship team. That's that needs to get things turn around right now, But I believe in this team. Imagine if you didn't trade DeAndre Hopkins. If he didn't trade DeAndre Hopkins, you gotta think they at least have a win on the season, right? I know they had a brutal schedule right out of the gate with the Chiefs, the Ravens, the Steelers and then the Vikings on paper, all for those games. They were going to be very tough, Tio. Get a win, but you could have made an argument that would've been two and two are one in three If even trade DeAndre Hopkins. I really think he still would have been a coach. I think about it, he had a team. That made the playoffs back to back years. You have a young Exciting quarterback who's the future of your franchise, and you blew it up and you ruined an opportunity to continue coaching this team because you traded DeAndre Hopkins and barely got anything back from like that the contract was that big of an issue. You got to get a first round pick. Warm and they didn't do so. So that's a terrible job by Bill O'Brien. You didn't get nearly enough for today. Beyond Clowney, it ended up was Barkevious Mingo, Jacob Martin and a third round pick. I think you're listed a 35. So that was that deal. The town's move. I get it, but now it looks terrible. And you were trying to help your young Quarterback and get him a franchise left tackle. He's good. He's not great. But you gave up so much without having a mink to a contract that eventually got to make to a contract. Now, when the teams really bad because of what you did in this offseason, where yet no desire of getting that Super Bowl trophy, what they Good team. You should have been aggressive and made the smart moves, not just aggressive moves that were dumb. You further distance yourself from non Lombardi Championship or Lombardi.

"Twenty twenty NFL draft Houston Texans select defensive tackle TCU will likely take BJ readers snaps right is reader who got done but don't rotate him sure and done through and so you replace them but with a much cheaper guy reader the Broncos miss some of them have a drug cases making the Broncos this is setting up like last night where as last night as it was getting close to the Broncos at fifteen old maybe I could have to trade because one other guy's going to be there well now they've got a lot of really good choices for alignment and good choices for corner if they were to go either of those positions or openness is still there for awhile as well the colts picks going to be a little bit interesting here I thought they go D. E. B. but they go running back and you think with Marlon Mack in the success that he's had a notice had couple injuries here and there they want to be in office is a lot more explosive but they're going to go with one of your favorite players here and Jonathan Taylor yeah I think it's smart pick they've had some issues with durability problems with Marlon return of the Mack and name Hines out there so much so that when I get out of the way is for awhile last year as well they did it was rocket right so they they you know they just had problems to get the body through there I think a durable big bruising bell cow back like Jonathan Taylor I think is going to be great for them and in that office of line being able to run behind that line who well I do not envy defenses nope in the AFC south known not even a little was it a tough sell to get Anthony castonzo to come back I thought the guys retire at weird times now they send me to the two year deal was it may because luck was gone and he was like you know what I can be gone too they told him that they were going to bring a quarterback in that wasn't because he was getting blamed for some of the burset stuff one percent freelanced and profits of line got it can be frustrating go back to the text line here five six six nine zero man I really like tomatoes and Duggar a lot that's from Chris Doug chimes in says Elway will go interior offense of line in the second round yeah I mean look what cushion berry is still out there I hate to jinx it you know so I just we just dead but that would be a fantastic pick the S. center out of LSU and you basically be drafting your starting center right then in your your offense of line at least as it stands right now would be complete one more let's see here I would've taken mims over Higgins and Pittman I agree with you on that Chris let let me ask you this if as for Cleveland's there at forty six you have to think long and hard about it absolutely yeah he's that guy tell but it gives a very there too the other both their question Barry not a look twice I'm I'm not upset with you because then you know as for Cleveland's not playing this year I mean you can bring him in to compete your your you can also play guard if if he picks it up quickly enough and play Glasco center you could but I mean what I guess if you could do that just because invariably Korea tackling later all right let's head out to Roger you don't find.

"Is with you it seems like the Houston Texans are stealing the NFL's all season for all the wrong reasons employed people love to whip up on Billy Albright now when he first made the the Andre Hopkins street I was not adamantly against him the way that everybody else seemingly was also the same thing about the reigning country now the problem that I have with the Andre Hopkins street is finding out what the bills gave up to get digs that was my bigger issue well they're given up that much to get the exact you only get you know a second round pick and David Johnson back in return essentially for the best wide receiver in the sport that's the problem is that they they traded hobbies I think most people ripped him for trading Hopkins it's that they didn't get enough return and maybe you could say the same thing about cloaks now that they gave up a little too much would you give up a second round pick for a guy who you know is not all he never a hundred percent healthy he's been around a lot for a guy with his potential and ability they get a fourth round pick back with cooks in a give a second round pick okay people are saying that because it's a wide receivers drafter to deport wide receivers in this draft they could have picked somebody with that fifty seventh pick overall you know on second round pick we could have picked a wide receiver not had to pay him as much as they would have had to go with Brandon cooks being on a contract but maybe they feel the cooks is a better player maybe they want to bring a little bit of a name because they lose the Andre Hopkins may it's not this is not an awful trade it's it's like everybody wants to pick on bill o'brien you can get on him for not getting maybe maximizing the return on the Andre Hopkins and I also think a big part of that is how you value David Johnson compared to how bill o'brien values David Johnson but but this trade is not one that you could really ripped him for at least I don't think so how do you know the one receiver they gonna pick up a cigarette maybe they did their evaluation and they thought that whatever wide receiver they could pick in that spot was not as good as Brandin cooks simple as that so they decided to get take cooks instead you know we're talking about a guy with the taxes and I get these made some in game boneheaded decisions I I get that you know why the media and fans don't really love bill o'brien but it's almost like in football ordered in sports in general now it's less about what you have done and what you M. more about maybe what you should be doing I mean there are think of the amount of teams in a league that would kill to have had the success that bill o'brien has had as a head coach of the Houston Texans they have won the division in four of the six years that he's been there his first year was two thousand fourteen they won in fifteen sixteen eighteen and nineteen.

"Game Sunday between the the Houston Texans in the Kansas City Chiefs it's going to be remembered as one of the more more more couple in the order turn around that you're ever going to see because it looks like the Houston Texans we're gonna run and hide with this game there of twenty one and nothing opening drive touchdown Kansas city can catch a pass block point Tyree kill most upon and the Texans at twenty one not being a drive in for more you play this game I've talked about it throughout the morning fourteen one now I have an employee ready instead of going for the jugular making a twenty eight nothing Texans kick a field goal twenty four nothing and all of a sudden something changed in the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick well homes got going that she's finally start holding onto the football and bill o'brien made the worst coaching decision of the weekend twenty four seven up in his own territory runs a fake punt explain how makes sense at twenty one nothing you're not going for a touchdown and then you're going to go for a big point inside your own end cheese capitalize score a touchdown Texans Moff kick off and end up wanting for nothing second quarter lead turns into twenty eight twenty four Kansas city I knew Kansas city was going to run and hide the second half and that's exactly what they did no answer for Patrick ball homes No Way answer for Travis Kelsey mall holds reminded you why he is the top quarterback and the most talented quarterback Italy as the chiefs advanced to the AFC title game in a win this by twenty crazy crazy stuff you have to be absolutely sick of your bill o'brien because then absolutely terrible game bought the better team propelled the more explosive team prevail and it looked like it was going to be one of those games are which bad things were happening again to any read one of his jeans animal the January not to be not one pass your mom's is on the sat then you get to the show down that I for one was looking forward to the most Russell Wilson taking on Aaron Rodgers said and the only goal in today's game it was all Packers Aaron Jones is run the ball great Aaron Rodgers is bacon plays the divine Kay Adams the Seahawks game plan in the FOR staff shameful because they will basically taking the ball out overall she will since heads wait to rely on running all ma'am Marshawn Lynch and it was a eighteen point Packer halftime lead but you know this what role so well said he's never out of a game and sure enough Russell Wilson got going they see all spread about the Seahawks opened up their offense and that became a five point game in the fourth quarter with all the momentum on this side of Seattle and when Seattle gets a stop Dow five I thought they were going to win again and this is where you got a credit the Packer defense they would cast casting that second half but they got the big sack to get the ball back to the great quarterback that has kind of gotten for god it away in a Rogers and Roger is trying to lay in the weeds this year it's been about the packed a rushing attack you heard about the Packer defense but which red hot Russell Wilson ready to get it back Rogers was in a let that happen as good to always you're going to see the divine to Adams on door down why in the world the font Adams was not double teamed Iran's for the money troll buy a multi player then you get to another third down conversion this one to Jimmy grand and this one little bit of controversy well I've I thought he got the first down they don't read play I thought he got the first down then you slow down on Twitter not so sure but I don't want to hear from Seattle Seattle did nothing gonna for staff Seattle could get off the field on third down Green Bay was the better team in this game for what it's worth if there was a fourteen shortness damn Green Bay probably converts that's just the way it was going for Seattle all game all so now the stage is set for the Green Bay Packers to get back to the NFC title game and as far as what we saw on Saturday you got this storable stoners here in the divisional round one more Jack soon and the Baltimore Ravens losing by sixteen the Titans and I bought one more was affected by two things in this game one think the layoff hurting not only the bye week remember bowl more did not play their starters in week seventeen Hey old but I could team that was out of sync in the early going that first interception right off the hands of managers goes the other way I thought that was so key for Tennessee getting off to a fast start stop pushing Derek cannery they score first but these came can basically be summed up by two fourth down stops and by no means am I going to get on Jon horrible for goal for it I love it that's my style of coaching that's new age coaching that's what worked for Baltimore all year you don't try to be something that you're not that's the word goal always played all year fourteen one you well fourteen inches you go all the problem is the team that was eight four eight in converting fourth downs all year guest stuff twice I got stuff in the first half it led to Ryan Tannehill bomb bay got stuffed down eight driving opening possession of the second half self tight ball Derek generous sixty six yard run they score a touchdown I was game set match well my Jackson was that greatness game it's also a narrative though that's getting way over blown are you style play can't work let me see what a playoff team the guys in his first full season starting in early that line was not AT is by any means now would one more Jackson tell you you should appoint a lot better for sure little more Jackson plate is well as he did drop the regular season all but this idea like a playoff game on Saturday should be some referendum on Jackson is a quarterback on Jackson's future in this league is the biggest bunch of crap and for guys like Kurt Warner and others call in some out on this because it really was ridiculous and I got the holy blown out of proportion one Jackson going to be the MVP he had a spectacular season they lost two more physical Tennessee team but that is the team that now has winds over New England at Baltimore on the road in the post season chat all that going on and then you had the blase game to kick it off a dominant performance by San Francisco holding Minnesota to seven first downs it was all about the play action in the first half in the second half was all about the rushing attack of San Francisco and Minnesota couldn't get Dalvin cook all and they couldn't block for Kirk cousins Kirk cousins didn't play particularly well and even though I was a hose came in the first half I thought it was store domination by San Fran is all now stages set it's not as though the Packers the Titans in the chase pretty interesting savage of Sunday its five fifteen here on this Monday morning it stays jazz to die challenges Justy right here on the fan what's your big take away from the divisional round in the NFL is it Seattle being too conservative in the first half is it about the physicality of the Tennessee Titans is it the poor coaching a ball Brian you tell me now with the latest radio back on sports Bennett is a Los hi baby lords with the radio dot com sports minute you think you know but I don't know no what would prove buyer week to week on the NFL gridiron or in the case of the Texans and chiefs Sunday we can't predict what will happen from quarter to quarter fans you only see the final score will have no clue what they meant how did the pro football team posted twenty four nothing lead to begin the second quarter but trailed by the time the quarter is over the tech then had to know the chief would strike back but instead of protecting the football playing smart staying poise Houston fell apart the counter punch with a fatal blow to the city gravel mentor with the help of a few Texans misuse of mental errors I'd like a lightning strike patrimony the chief scored touchdowns with seven consecutive drives and one by twenty yeah we all saw that coming hi.

"Monday is the following Wean Dang. Oh I'll see how that goes no. I don't think we have anything absolutely not but especially in the NFC south we'll see if Atlanta can hold onto their head. Coach heard that Mike McCarthy interviewed for the Carolina Panthers head coach John. Please let him Newton back all my gosh. Yes as we found out from Green Bay after he left. Iran was running the show there and if he comes Carolina Cam Newton is certainly not equipped to run a team. Like that like Aaron Rodgers is well at at least with Cam. Newton's leadership the whole team will have a good style or at least style on over the good and you know funky hair who get all that straight now. Now that'd be his leadership the important things in football that's important hell got the all twenty two film Review Don for Houston Texas game. It was very interesting very interesting interesting but surprisingly I got the video up on Youtube and I was actually surprised this funny when I do these things. I have no idea how long they're going to be because after hours and hours and hours I was watching it. I can't remember how video clips Don and everything so it was not until up. Start putting together. That could see how long it is and this is one of the shorter ones I've done but it was one of the more interesting games is to watch so that was very strange. If there was a couple of video clips at I I know I did. But they ended up not being in the video. I don't know what happened to him so you know I was doing this. We we had family over house will people so you can hear all the background all kinds of stuff a tremendous trying to do all day yesterday to. He's a Christmas Eve couldn't do it. Yeah we had people all in here just making all kinds of noise and some of the family is read aloud anyhow but so I did said Tuesday got most of it done in finished it up today and I was really surprised with a Thursday. I didn't do anything yesterday during Christmas but I was really surprised. And how little how few clipped Hijab said it was very interesting and then I was missing a couple of clips disappeared. So I'll talk about those clips here in just a second. All right do you remember what our summary was. Instant cast go ahead. Lay it out there with what we see what we see. The rats were horrible and it was a game that we lost next Houston. Texans didn't necessarily win that game. We just Kinda gave it away after watching all twenty two. I'll tell you this. The rest were actually worse than we default. If you can believe that. I'm not surprised this is. This is a quick summary of everything the the refs were absolutely elite. Trash absolutely trash. I think I can't remember which game it was awhile back but I think we had a really bad ref game. I WANNA say it was New Orleans. Seattle maybe Acura but I think we had quite a few screw ups by the wrath. I want to say nine or fifty something like Dan of anyway anyhow in this one account twelve. Wow Yeah. That's a lot that's a lot and we'll go over them in detail here. In a moment the Texans played with more energy than we he did how interesting so that was kind of like the New Orleans Games. Yes yes. We're very flat. Especially the second game. Our defense played well. Well we know that the offensive line played well but they just didn't play with oath that they they Gripe Tech James. I mean the few snacks acts they got those were Jameson Fault for scrambling around I think three are it was they. Were not pressuring him. In our offense landed a great job with dominance myth just just basically totally shutdown merciless without a lot of effort. I think Mercilus got buying twice now only once and I could take an might have been twice but neither one of them really affected the play. Jensen played really well. There was some good blocking but but generally I mean we shut their defensive line down and they did a lot of blitz up there number forty thirty one Zach Cunningham back taxes. He's good so as their nose. Tackle Jira DJ reader number ninety eight These are two guys. We did not pick up long. When we watched watched some of the Texans Games matter of fact the people we thought might would be good at? Actually we were totally wrong about their defense of their cornerbacks star. Receivers like Glue Jameis Jameis Winston had very few open receivers almost every pass. He threw a tight window. That's crazy it explains a lot Li- through so many interceptions because I mean he was just throwing no matter if they were covered or not because they were always come basically. That's interesting because they're ranked so low as far as passing defense. It makes you wonder. I wonder if the game plan wasn't good. If they stepped up their play if our receivers you know because we had our number one number two were out if our receivers just couldn't get space. I don't know but they were. They stopped doing like glue. It kind of looks like our secondary our secondary played very well are defensible. Played very well. We pressured to Shawn Watson quite what a bit. Not as much as I would like to see of course but he is hard to press her that because he's a mobile quarterback he can usually escape and that is his number. One thing is a mobile quarterback recommend. We really kept him in. Check Him Deandre Hopkins. He's a mobile quarterback and he does just like Jameis Winston. Sometimes he would scramble for no reason and he would get you know run into Zack's and he was missing guys open downfield not say it reminded me almost exactly of Jameis Winston except to watch them has a little bit more grace. He doesn't look liking thinking newborn draft when he's running around got a little bit more speed to him. The Take David played very well. I would say he was the best player on the field. You know this is this is gonNA sound really really strange our worst unit and I think this is what hurt us the most was special teams. Now we were talking about. I was like why are they. They haven't done back their return punts kickoffs and then they did and he just wasn't getting anywhere and nobody was able to get anywhere. We hardly any yard. It wasn't until it blockers. We had an appointed this out in the video. Fifty one mentor thirty. Four Adams thirty-seven Wilkins and twenty four Stewart. Were all guilty of not blocking a single person on punts and kickoffs sometimes even almost every punt and kickoff. They were just guys not blocking anybody where they within our were they Brian. I wouldn't say they weren't trying to just like they have asked it. I wouldn't even say they weren't given effort. They were just not executing well. Yes let's let's. Let's say that there was one kickoff right up scored a field goal in the first quarter. I think it was mazzy. Would want to mentor. I'll put it on the video. A two of them on the right side aligned Argh is one of them was mentor. Remember that just let three guys run right past them and the returner just gets let's clobber bio is very strange. They didn't block a single person. There was actually two points where we had two guys on the governor of Kevin Minter and Adams one time we had two guys front blocking one guy that that one guy for the Texans. Just rain right between Minter atoms they didn't put latently handling. He just ran right between rain down. The field made the tackle who's got caught. Bought another play another pont. I want to say it was Mazzy Wilkins and mentor. This time. The guy goes around him. You know it was two guys on two guys on Goner. He runs around them. They turn around and start chasing him and another Houston Texan Texan. Guys comes running up right behind them and third looking at the guy that ran past them and the guy that is behind them ends up making a tackle. I mean they were just turned around and blocked. The Guy can't block guy in the back. Why even care? If he's running past you just turn around the block somebody else but he had the guy was running right behind them. Them and then just veered left. Quick made the tackle so our special teams unit has got to step up. There was one where Ryan Smith is usually are special teams guy guy. He did not a whole lot in this game. I want to say that Houston special teams. They pay a lot of attention to their special teams. We don't seem to Brian. Smith twenty nine. I was running down the sideline as a gunner is blocking and the guy. He was blocking number thirty three grabs him and pulls into the ground right in front Aref right. This is one of the twelve that I'm GonNa talk about here in a minute. And thirty three goes and he ends up making the tackle and you see Ryan Smith Walk Up to him and stick his finger anger in his face. The very next punt thirty three is running down the Field Ryan Smith runs over two men. Grabbing by the Jersey inches yanks him straight meeting face as plant into the ground and that no. That's another one of the twelve so he got his revenge. Our special teams use unit. Did Not play okay well and it really was a difference in the game it because this was a very close game this was an inches matter game right behind Ville. I'm going to put James Winston. He did really good with you. Know making some very difficult passes but he was scrambling out of the pocket too much when he didn't need to like I said our offensive line did a great job giving him clean. Pocket's hold on pressure on anybody just seem to have those happy feet this game and he doesn't seem to affect him when he has the happy mm seems like the Games where he's had a poor performance. He's been very flighty like sat. Yeah you get skittish but he did that too much and he made poor decisions decisions one of the decisions he made. What did I? I'm not really Nakajima's for this kid. Because like I said I mean these cornerbacks glued receivers and William James was did did a great job and we were within three. I mean it's not like we got stomped and despite the four interceptions we had the chance to win it right. Which is what I'm getting to next? We got the ball with. I think it was twenty. Six twenty nine seconds left in the fourth quarter. We were down on our goal line. We had the drive all. We need with a field field goal so we had to drive. Sixty yards will say in twenty nine seconds James Hikes..

Big third down plays <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> and <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> He's a heck of a player <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> who is the key <Speech_Music_Male> to keeping <Speech_Music_Male> Hopkins <SpeakerChange> and making <Speech_Music_Male> him a non factor much uh-huh <Speech_Male> did Carson <Speech_Male> did a great job on <Speech_Male> Carl's long. <Speech_Male> He's physical and <Speech_Male> they're beating each <Speech_Male> other up pretty good <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> weeks ago. You said <Speech_Music_Male> next man up <Speech_Music_Male> just catch the Damn Ball. Aw <Speech_Music_Male> That's pretty <Speech_Male> much it and that's all <Speech_Male> that's bad <Speech_Male> it's all <Speech_Male> cody mcelroy. <Speech_Male> Did it <Speech_Male> now. You GotTa <Speech_Male> Chats Hell play <Speech_Male> got us back <SpeakerChange> in the game. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> do you guys put this <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> one behind you quickly <Speech_Music_Male> to carry momentum. You've <Speech_Music_Male> had coming <SpeakerChange> into this week <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> we do because you know <Speech_Male> we don't want to go out. <Speech_Male> This team is not losers <Speech_Male> you <Speech_Male> know we want to win this last game. KGO <Speech_Male> Eight and eight <Speech_Male> and <SpeakerChange> bill from <Speech_Music_Male> their <Speech_Male> pre <Speech_Male> teen said some struggles <Speech_Male> catching <SpeakerChange> the ball. But that <Speech_Male> was an element interception. <Speech_Male> Yeah he's worked <Speech_Male> hard at it. <Speech_Male> He's He's before <Speech_Male> practice after <Speech_Male> practice. Always somebody <Speech_Male> throw ball great interception <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> versus general. Just <Speech_Male> losing a game like <Speech_Male> this defense place <Speech_Male> so while a lot of people <Speech_Music_Male> played well and it's it's <Speech_Music_Male> pretty much on <Speech_Music_Male> four interceptions. <Speech_Music_Male> How do you <Speech_Male> how do you square that with <Speech_Male> your team? And just <Speech_Male> how do you <SpeakerChange> look at it <Speech_Male> overall. <Speech_Male> Same Guy threw four touchdowns <Speech_Male> last week. You know <Speech_Male> he throw a couple touchdowns AH <Speech_Male> tight for us. <Speech_Male> And the <Speech_Male> last one <Speech_Male> which <Speech_Male> was a <Speech_Male> poor decision <Speech_Male> but <hes> <Speech_Male> that <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> We had our chances. This <Speech_Male> is to win. So <Speech_Male> it's a team game <Speech_Male> one minute game. He didn't <Speech_Male> he didn't lose a game. <Speech_Male> He didn't help us <Speech_Male> win the game. <SpeakerChange> Though <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> it'd be in the year you <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> wanted James to <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> me better. Decisions changes <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> called that one of <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> the season. Have you seen <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> that decision. <Speech_Music_Male> Making improving over <Speech_Music_Male> the year <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> still need to get drastic. <Speech_Male> We'd better go it's been <Speech_Male> it's been better and better <Speech_Male> each week <Speech_Male> There are still some the <Speech_Male> tr- <Speech_Male> trust guy sometimes <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> The Trust Them More Night <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> <Speech_Music_Male> Koji looks like the one <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> thing. James Really <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> has to work on his manipulating <Speech_Music_Male> defense in <Speech_Music_Male> his eyes. <Speech_Male> And you say <Speech_Male> no not at all he <Speech_Male> he actually <Speech_Male> does it too much. <Speech_Male> He tries <Speech_Male> to look safety's off too <Speech_Male> much. "One Sunday yes para with another great catch and then Wednesday thousand interception that outright undercut that was just the killed us with that. So you gotta you gotTa applaud him. Whether it was the cornerbacks figured it out or the coaching because it was four. Different defenders Scott interceptions breath and almost all of them I would say winston should not have thrown the ball but that's Winston and it's a good way to knock him off his game when he gets turnovers like like that he can. That can kind of set the tone for the whole game with him will. It has recently because he's thrown four interceptions in his last five opening drive. That's trail hid. We've won so it's just repeated ones you can later in the game seem to really cripple us. But Hey I'm I'm proud tale. There ain't no texans fan can walk around and said we kicked your ass what they can do as long as I say your game. Yeah they know they know we were the better team. mm-hmm we shot ourselves in the foot. They were sweating to that whole game right up to the lessons and hey that's why they're going to. The playoffs led into a playoff team rather yet do Tennessee titans no screaming. We should have won that game outright. They'll suck well the best that we can unfinished is eight eight snow three games up from last year. I don't care what you say. This is an awesome team is a fun team in the south. Zucchini can go toe to toe with anybody in the league. We got a lot of help for the future. NEXT SEASON IS GONNA be awesome. I'm worried about this off season. Man We got so many players that could go you leave. Yeah but I think enough want to stay slow to these guys. They like the coach so I think that helps a lot when you have players that have gone in and they want to be there and you know we have L. L. last year. Who took a pay cut to stay very well and he's done very well? So if you guys like that in your locking locker room willing to do that and they wanna stay. Maybe they'll make it work not having an income tax in Florida Florida helps to weather. Plus I have faith and Jason Light to do it to get it done. I think that he deserves a lot of props for you can look. He gives a lot of grief look at our secondary who he was ridiculed for. These draft picks taken three defensive backs right in a row we have the all new secondary and then. Ba Says Oh look our secondary's totally fixed and they didn't do so great through the first half of the season which you gotta handed the light for that to which he's he doesn't have a problem doing if you don't perform boom the cut he cut he's cut. How many first rounders allot yellow spence? burn earnhardt the second round. I think he was high up there though. Not Not a player that you expect to be cut out right like that. Like a big pick Eric and he had a he got a Lotta Shit for too so he doesn't have a lot of pride. Seems Governor six skin neither way but finding finding these defensive backs who have really come into their own. This season idea they were knocking balls down. Lifted Sean Murphy. Bunting he sat there there. Were what six pass defense downtown Sioux had one we had five. TSL's AFL's and five sacks. She's outrageous yes and this is something I learned from. This Yada is never thought about it before but tackles for loss of the same as the sack. And we've we've had over twenty in the past three Games Vantera Davies at those. David was the ball to the kids. Still say that anymore on born now wouldn't even know what you're talking probably call. He said 'em all I wanNA give some props to Jerry Stewart to. He showed up last game. Just popped up by now nowhere and last game. He almost got that interception but they hit the ground. Although I didn't agree with that call because you couldn't see them as Allie turnover. And then today he showed up he had a pass defendant so he he seems like a service of all guy bath there to give us some DEPP's rotation he's not back there. He's only getting snaps game when he's making plays as the first time in in a long time that I am so excited when our defense gets on the field. I don't remember ever feeling like this. Like maybe during Xiang but then the pass defense was atrocious. It didn't really matter. Even though the run defense was so good but they're just fun to watch it. We have so many playmakers you just never know who is going to make the next play anybody anybody on our on our defensive line to make a plate anytime linebacker. Same thing like l'amante force fumbles Devon White picking them mop running back and then the second area interception or a good pass defense then balls. Dan tippin balls bunting had another tip today blitz listening with really impressive. How far the team has come? We did a great job containing Shawn Watson. Really really great. He did have a couple where he's squeak down there. Expect that to the hell. That's what he's so good at. It was such a Fun Game Bird Fun. I really like back to the announcers they were. I mean he sees a lot of games. He wanted football. He has seen a lot of on. I was watching watching this radio show. I didn't even know he had. I knew we had a show but it was on a youtube. Think in man he was dead serious. I've always seen him as the more jocular. You can sit around. Yeah Yeah when he runs that forty yard dash every here for stages. Yeah but he was dead serious deflect thirty minutes. It was kind of weird I think that his father just passed because he brought it up on on the show so that might be but I don't watch the show regular regularly. I just saw it on twitter. This game had some interesting stats in it. We're talking about that earlier. Levonne David had ten tackles on the game putting him at nine hundred and ninety nine for his Co. physicist par Gregg Allman will be the sixth active. NFL Sal player with a thousand. Wow next week wow sell awesome. He sounds underrated criminally underrated. Although he he did have that fourteen caught at long bomb on David. David was right away. I don't even know each. I sent a half down flow. Incredible that he kept up with a wide receiver. That far downfield. Our team is really good. This is a really good football team because imagine this strides. We can make an off season of this seems to have so many pieces in place that we're going to upgrade some things but they're not necessarily -sarily a huge glaring need now what needs to be upgraded really serious some more depth to add offensive line. I think maybe draft somebody develop up a guy like kind of like a kappa. I agree with that running back. I think you could upgrade Helena. You know I'm a big fan of running backs are made by offense and live the. There's been very few running backs I've seen that have gone from good offensive line teams to bat offense teams and done well to me. It says that offense of lines make running in which was weird because in the preseason. We thought they're run blocking spectacular and the pass protection gone awful uh-huh flip flopped too. It really did. I felt Donald Smith. Demar Dotson I thought the whole offensive line play great. I haven't seen the game film yet but I think that I didn't see too many mistakes as far as that's concerned. Yeah James Hat all day Max air. How many sex did he get? I think three two or three three three. Yeah for only six yards a lot of those James Winston sacks to runs out of the pocket and gets caught from Henderson today. James Surpassed Dan Marino from the second most passing yards through five seasons. What's number one Peyton manning with how many twenty thousand six hundred eighteen eighteen? How far does James have to go to beat the? I can't remember. I don't think he's going to be that. This season two thousand yards. We can get five thousand dollars seventy. It's not five thousand years now I I. It was on a graphic somewhere but I don't know where it is. Christmas is coming. Up is really a win for Christmas. Ask no I'm I'm proud of this game. I'm proud of it. Yeah it it it hurts to lose especially when you know. You're the better team. Could you imagine if we would add evans or Godwin or both of them. That would have been another three or four catches right there. Yeah that would've made a difference. made a difference came bright catching it pass for. The camp right doesn't drop passes essence. He went to a spill. Though where you had like four job to work with these titans in the off season. What are they doing with them? I don't know I don't know that that's what I'm saying. They need to get that Hammer Hammer. Now on the coaching staff needs to figure out what their day we've got. They've really got incorporated in the game. I mean I give bar left. which a ton of props was a couple? A couple of weeks ago. His game plan was just perfect. Say the Jaguars. I think it was gone. I don't think I've ever seen that many over receiver since we played Chicago couple years ago but the tight tight ends of gotta be utilized or or traded. Because they're not bad blocking tight ends although Jay Howard I would say he's a little bit below average average blitzer great receiving tidings other than the fact that they couldn't catch a damn ball today. I don't know what I'm talking about are. Are They GonNa Anything Paper Argon okay. I'll say that also key to lose in the game today was our tight ends. You know why we're GonNa say that stepped up. Yes exactly but more than that is because I predicted that would have. It'd be the key to the game the game and they didn't do it and I'm going to say that about Oj Howard. I'd like go out. I really do. I really really really really liked how coder utilize town especially with those Niki. Sneaky onion what their calls Passes and we. We've done it a couple times this year. And he's done a really good with him where he goes down the line block in and shoots out towards the left whatever but this year. OJ Howard has really fallen now. I'm GONNA think we have not utilizing as much as properly as we should have. But when he's got his opportunities he's failed so you know I'm going to say oh. Jay Howard is not lived up to this year's expectations and you can put a little bit on him and a little bit on the catching staff. One thing I like about this coaching staff though is he knows next year he could lose his job. This coaching staff does not care where you were drafted. What's your role on? The team. Is How long you been here if you don't perform you're out if fumble guess what you're not getting the ball anymore. MSN Blitz pick-up. You Ain't getting the ball anymore. I can't think of anything where the people accountable I know. Like even Vernon hargraves obviously obviously did not one of these special teams. So what do they do. They reward him by taking him off. Specialty in could point psychology. What Yeah No? I like this team. Like like him like him a lot. I don't see a lot that needs to be improved. As a matter of fact I'd be happy of this. Exact team came back next year. You're exactly giants game. Missed by foot a literal foot a foot kick the ball and the ball. That was a foot away from going into the field goal. The thing is Tennessee. One less turnover one less turnover. We gave them so much we gave them so much. And that's what happened this game too bright. Yeah and and look at it. It was a very close game all it to the like the ice that we liked to be generous with the other team in spot them. If you points fourteen or seventeen I think he said seventeen points. Yeah that's what we're going to get under control. We lead the League in points scored off of turnovers and points allowing off turnovers. So you gotTA hands ended up to our defense man. Those guys there's every every turnover was a detriment to our defense they were they were put in bad situations. I five times today. Yeah three of those times it really really really stepped up well and the one time the first time they didn't get on the field with no novel screw right. That's five times eight held director. I like this team excited about you. Know what's sad. Here's what's sad. Really game laughed But we're going to be watching the series all you all offseason. Yeah we're going to watch this team because we'll watch every two or three days where like let's watch some football take off season so we'll watch go. Do it like four hours straight at convinced games. We'll get like five games in all seasons. Weren't we should do that. We're going to art square predictions. Were not on point that we did predict that to be a close game. That's how I felt. I was like Gosh. We're right on point with her. How we felt this game I was GONNA go? I predict at thirty two twenty nine bucks and you predicted thirty. Twenty eight bucks a final score twenty three to twenty..

"I'd love to see their targets. Yeah Day Howard had three receptions on seven targets for forty six yards cody macelroy. So Roy caught one pass. Yeah Cambridge Bright. Had Five targets with only two receptions so are tied Ainsworth even catching it at a fifty percent rate. It's horrible and still after that drive after that night to the chest. That was a tough on. After that punch to the gut the defense still forced to stop yes and gave us the ball back. Great minutes left in what happens. James Winston throws an interception interception. Here's the takeaway. We just went up against the Division leader the AFC went toe to toe with him. Which we've done in a lot of games? Yeah yeah it'll comes to mind and that's what I'm saying we made if you just look at Houston's performance irrespective of the box performance like their offense did circle high flying offense. They're up in the top ten. We're channels running and receiving our team is if you look. Gad's the biggest predictor of if you WANNA get into stats which toll going to throw this out. There supports argument the biggest after sure. The biggest predictor of improvement from one year to the next is the amount of close games one score less and we're having close games against really good team. Yeah so that's a good sign that we're going to do really well next year. I was really impressed with bill. Bryan's coaching tale was pretty good. It was good good. I've always thought for the last few years like he's kind of on the bubble but now I've never been impressed with his coach more skill on his players right. Jj Watt aww there and cloudy Davis wisdom through a interception Peru. Pick six on his first pass. The game was that was too much you can throw interceptions game with the score really hurts us. Don't let them score. That's the problem. That's what really killed us. Had he just got in the interception without the touchdown hours okay. I today undercut on his win. His IPAD. You know he's GonNa do it because let's pick his first fifteen plays as and Janus loves AL route. So he's always got some in. They're always gonNA. Yeah you can count on them and I say this Tamale all the time I mean it makes me furious. You've never throw to the outside outside when you're that close to your end zone effort. It's just asking for picnics and sure enough outside pigs ex. It's like what are you doing. Hello I threw it. Although it wasn't James says worst game. I don't think because we were there. We had every opportunity to win it. We were within three. Oh this this was a shootout we were. We were toe to toe with these guys and we one if we want. I love these where you're like. You know they they want technically better. Hey here's what I'm saying. Here's our excuse me broken hand on a quarterback both of our receivers L. and it's not just like any receivers saw Tennessee. Titans lost their two starters. Neither two of the best receivers in the League if the so he's comfortable with and known for years. How many is were catching balls at Janus didn't play with last year vizier? I'm in high man. And Cody Macelroy. That tight end. John signed this week just just signed him. He goes there and catches a pass. He's got a thirty yards per catch average rejoice in front of all for ten especially. He's at the top of the last two touchdowns right now her was gonna be pigging the famous for the job. I will say that I underestimated their defense. If anything we could say we were wrong about their secondary but I don't think it was their secondary stepped up any more than it just. We had excuses. I mentioned earlier broken hand. Jim's listen was doing some ugly malls they were just overthrows. He couldn't look like he couldn't get a grip on the ball. He was put too much touch on them at times and they were wobbly. What a weird thing on the outside of his gloved to kind of brace it fitting weird you said somebody had the photo show the job? That was their jhom. The graphic they put up. Here's with him spreads but there was no. I don't know anyway look. We're out of the playoffs if anything this helps us as far as draft position is concerned. We don't care about which we don't but if you WanNa make yourself feel better eh. But the bigger thing to me is the fans we garnered this week. A lot of people watching this game when I'm really liked the buccaneers. That's fun football. Yeah A- and might help are getting more prime time games next year. I think so because I do try to gauge you is going to be. WHO's an up and coming coming team? And they will put them on similar primetime game they want eyeballs. It doesn't matter if you're the Cleveland browns. If you're losing every five games or losing five out of four. I don't know there's a math or someone if you're losing a lot of games it doesn't matter if you're entertaining. They WanNa put you on TV because they know people want to watch stuff this one thing with the Patriots Trias Patriots have been dominant for twenty years. They're born to what they are wearing a fourth quarter last five minutes then our exciting usually during during the gamers boring football well. They don't really have that many players who are consistently CNN players like. They're running backs. One running Mac might have a one hundred yard game aiming the next week he barely even plays until you play fantasy football. I never take New England running back for ever ever like Seattle all in Green Bay. I don't take green bay receivers either because Iran gets pissy with them and then stops throwing to hope is. It's the weirdest thing about this game. was there was an an rappaport report that came out. Today that said that the bucks have decided tapering Damis back. Next season is say inside the organization him and Never Dame has to have a game that was not one of his best where he throws the pick-6 immediately. That was a little surprising. I don't know if the national attention or the pressure of being on the national stage is too much for him. I'm yeah I'm throwing that out there. That's one thing that bothered me when we drafted Winston is. He's not good under the spotlight. Yeah he seems to crumble which might be why he does so well on the round not having the yeah the fanfare assure that Bozo. Yeah Ronald Jones forty nine yard run today and I was sweet again one. Yeah you everyone Matt Game with a blocked field goal now that was unfortunate and then he got hit or he went in for the head trying the tag team. Yeah go oh kicker is out there trying to tackle dudes. He didn't look like he took it to you while he was shocked. I tackle he's probably ever made into the line out. The patted handed him on the shoulder. Got So much in this game so much in this game. The fumble forced by Levada. David picked up by Devin like that. And I love that. Devon has has an eye for that did you notice Levante. David has been wearing the green dot on his helmet. I know I sweared Devon White was wearing at the beginning in your yeah. They said they were going to have him on. The Mike was asked about that. Can't wait to hear Bruce. Arians press conference. We haven't heard yet it'll be at the end of the podcast. It's already already been put up a probe into afterwards paranoid. Some of those catches were just some of those incomplete so I was like what are you doing. It bounced right office offers end. Yeah he's your other hand you got two of them but still even after the two interceptions in the blocked field goal. They were only up by seven. The point was ten to three. I was like ops for sure we got this game. I mean if they can only score ten points on two interceptions in a blocked field goal. They were certainly the more discipline team that it'd make any mistake right because right after that Lante David forced fumble picked up by Devin White. Winston threw an interception the very next book right. So it's like we couldn't capitalize on Yeah we can't make a mistake to mistakes and then Barbara fumbled. Oh my gosh convincing him for the rest of the day after now well. It's good to see some consistency as far zachos because they pulled roggio earlier in the year for missing a blitz pick up now. That Payton has had a problem with fumbles but Roselle was definitely more productive more dynamic. That's for sure. Kappa was knocked out in the second quarter for about a series that he came back with about three minutes left. We went into the half thirteen. Thirteen law let crap seventeen seventy yet. I got thirteen thirteen written during more. We need to start calling this instead of the incident. UNCAST that drunk kid. The Star of the fourth quarter. The score was twenty two twenty so it had the second going into the half it had to have been twenty two twenty. Yeah anyhow anyhow the point where we re there's the score right there on. ESPN in the first quarter and they had ten in the second quarter. They had seven seventeen points so that must've been later in the fourth quarter but yeah so we were tied seventeen. Seventeen going into the hands of my point being that the we were toe-to-toe with these guys all the way through this. Yeah despite starting out Ellen. Ten with all the mistakes we we would have just cut down on half the mistake right and immediate pick six and then in another almost pick six. I was called that for a penalty but they still ended scoring off of that but none of them. None of these mistakes. Would you go come on. Not Again Again Winston. All his interceptions right because he still rallied in almost came back up by the second. If Brain Clark that fourth-down impaired we would have probably tied this game minimum minimum foul hurt. You don't expect to drop now so we can't be too mad at him for that and he's he's he's done planning for this team and it wasn't just that mistake but it was a mistake. That kinda sealed it for us and that was that was the play right after Perriman when called beautiful sideline parents. Yeah one of the many he had today coming off the field Janus kind of had the deer in the headlights. Luck and then JP goes out there on defense three facts and just got sacked to stop Il. We got the ball back with About a minute minute one Sunday yes para with another great catch and then Wednesday thousand interception that outright undercut that was just the killed us with that. So you gotta you gotTa applaud him. Whether it was the cornerbacks figured it out or the coaching because it was four. Different defenders Scott.

"COM. He highlighted the matchup between Donovan and Mersal is less interesting. Would he say who's going to win. L. He doesn't make a prediction. But just says let's keep it safe. Yeah well Mercilus assist their top pass rushing threat with a team high five and a half sacks and thirteen quarterback hits little now. I don't think so either but you know. Now if he wasn't he was probably starting right British before Jay do walk out injured. Like Bruce Arians said. It's really hard to gauge these edge. Rusher by the stats like hits and sacks because there's a lot more that they contribute you know force quarterbacks out of pocket gets make them throw the ball early things of that nature and these-these Russia's Abe they really do come hard so Donald Donald Smith going to have to play Klay good and Martin Johnson more about him going up against that scarlet. GALLIC Scott got strong fast and relentless easing he'll have trouble yes now how I can almost guarantee he's going to have trouble with data. Donald Smith has this tendency to really step up when he plays against good pass. rushers assures so he rises to the challenge. Yeah he really does seem to like I said last year we played Dallas. was that last year. Yeah demarcus Lawrence human. Donald Smith and I was was just beauty. It was a great battle to watch. David Smith won that one. You Know He. He held the Marcus Lawrence to basically nothing that whole game with me and they were fighting. I was really good watch. So what's your prediction given. Some numbers are eight. I am going to be a homer and bucks are taking this one is going to be close. Actually I think they were favored in the odds in this one. I don't really know. Yeah well I don't really know how they work but I don't understand betting at all plus near the buccaneers numbers. So I thought that meant. We were favored and right now. It looks like we're we're underdogs But I know nothing about betting totally about three though in any case I think we take this one. I think it's close and I'm going to go with the score. War will be thirty two to twenty nine. ooh close close one. That's what I was GONNA say. Yeah I'll say thirty to twenty eight. They would don't copy me gotta change so what he again on Thursday twenty buccaneers. Of course this this is really going to be a test about how far we've come where we are as a team because our win streak is against shitty teams. The team that we play played. We lost two so here it is. We have an opportunity to face a good team and playoff-caliber team colts were considered a good team that time in but now imploded broke the colts. That implosion certainly started with us. Maybe not because I think they were only earliest streak to anyway. I always like going up against good teams. Yeah I think it makes your team better whether you win or lose entertaining to watch and I've been hearing that everywhere on the ESPN NFL network. All the they're like. Wow you know. Tampa Bay is really fun to watch. which made James Winston? This is a fun to team. I'm like yeah that's here. That's what's all about entertainment all right so that's going to wrap it up for us If you want to hang out and listen to Bruce Arians latest press converts. We'll have it at the end of the podcast. Attached at the back end anything to add Kamali net. Then all right. This is a home game. Let's fill up the stadium. I WANNA see nothing but red and not Houston red tape red in those stands. Let's pack it out and make get a give our team in an advantage. Do Our job as the twelve man. It said if nothing else be an exciting game because I wanNA wear my colors proud this week right and I wanNA be walking around. People are going to swoop. Saturday ain't gonNA happen. We got this no. We don't get our boats. Were not the Carolina Panthers all right until next time. Go Bucks.

"He's questionable Ryan Jensen with the L.. Bell he was limited admitted Tuesday and then full participant Wednesday and Thursday so he's questionable but probably gonNA plan. Yeah Donovan I know. Is there really any question that he's not gonNA play back on the dollar. Mattie was purple Donovan Smith the Ankle and knee. He didn't participate Tuesday and then was limited Wednesday and Thursday so he's questionable. Jameson was limited Tuesday and and Wednesday with his right thumb and and the injury but a full participant on Thursdays so he's questionable and the rest of these guys show up on the injury report but they don't have an injury designation for the game so tomorrow dots and he didn't participate Tuesday. That was not injury related he. He did practice Wednesday and Thursday Matt. Gay had a right groin injury. He was limited Tuesday and Wednesday but practiced fully on Thursday Thursday Anthony Nelson with his hamstring. He's been a full participation all week day. P P with his knee injury he's been a full participant and Dan and Don mcgahn Su. He missed practice Thursday. It was not injury related. So he'll play Veterans Day Problem Veterans Day off. Yeah probably with so on the Texan side outside linebacker Jacob. Martin didn't practice all week because of a knee injury he is out. And and Benadryl mckinney inside linebacker. As a concussion. He didn't practice all week. He is out Jalil at safety. He has an Achilles injury. He was limited Tuesday. I mean didn't practice. Tuesday was limited Thursday Wednesday and Thursday so he's questionable will fuller has a hamstring injury. He was limited all week and it's questionable Carlos Hyde. I can't even read that on. I don't know what kind of injury is but he he was limited. Tuesday didn't practice Wednesday then returned in eliminate capacity on Thursday so he is questionable running back to one Jones Jones have a hamstring. He was limited all week and his questionable Brennan. Scarlet is not the guy he just said outside linebacker. He's got an Achilles an Dan shoulder injury. He was limited all week and as questionable Darren Fells Titan. He's got a hand injury. He was limited Tuesday and Wednesday and and then full participant on Thursday and then deandre Hopkins got sick on Wednesday and miss practice but Thursday he return and was a full participant. The bad person if I said Gosh Darn it. We're all thinking yeah. I mean they've got some weapons into Shawn Watson I think is really similar. Tim Jiminez Better James. He does and I think he's only got like eleven interceptions on the season. He's not similar James. Well he's got the arm. James has and the receivers to what Jake was ranked the number one quarterback. He's got the most yards crazy above quite a bit but like two hundred and fifty two hundred fifty yards Dak Prescott second to Shawn Watson Genus Seventh. I mean does Shawn Watson is GONNA have to keep up with us. I just don't see their defense effective enough against genius to throw his game off. Have Him make mistakes. And I mean they're going to have to spend the whole time chasing us point if good James shows shows up. If jekyll James shows this could be a disaster do you think he could regress. This is James as with. We're talking about here but this game in this game in particular with You know he's had to string a great games here. Last two in particular comprehend learn regressed to his mean which means throwing five interceptions fumbling a couple times. I just don't think that's going to happen. Hope it doesn't have no. Oh I think it's going to be a close game. I think it's going to be back and forth. I mean our defense could put a hurting on Johnson and that offense Dan Vernet they haven haven't faced a defensive line like ours. It'd be able to run it. They're not going to be able to do their trick. Plays the read option. We're going to contain number ten. That's I mean number four. That's going to be a a big. The thing is contained in hill. Because I think he's not GonNa have his passing opportunities. He's been getting our guys are sticking the receivers like glue. Of course course there's GonNa be some. Oh Yeah Yeah I mean. You can't completely eliminate Shamlan Center. Well Fuller the big thing with those two is tackling home after after. Catch their big yards after the catch and I don't know the statistically but just from what I've watched you know guys get the ball they're gone you don't tackle very squirrelly gotTa Watch read option with number four though. He's he's very good at that and then when he gets out outside edge. He's got a turbo boost to him. Their offensive line left guard. Seventy four Max Scharping. He's a rookie. He's not that great from what I've seen. I haven't watched all their games. I've just watched a few a little little bit of coaches and everything he should be easy pickings especially for Vida. Think Bao's is gonNA toss him around. They're going to have to put the center. You're going to have to watch Via Up against Mac Scharping. And that's GONNA leave Adama Congress sue one on one a lot so that's never good good for an offensive line Seventy seven right tackle. Chris Clarke he's not that great either. JP and both Shaq Barrett. I think are going to be able to really eat him alive. He's going to have some serious issues I think we're going to see him on the ground and don't forget about crawl nathen. He'll be there to. That's right in golden should be playing a lot again because BOA allentown right so hopefully goal so I have a good game like last week They do it seems like every game. I've seen almost a first series is almost exclusively running. You know for us because we can stuff it yeah. I don't know if they'll do that. Forgive us I mean but it seems to be their Elmo they come out running you know run five six times maybe pass it and like you said they're not gonna go anywhere are run defense is just spectacularly good. We did have trouble with backs like Derrick Henry older. W like these big slippery running backs that are really physical. It's all relative because it's not I'm not saying they were like impossible to contain but it's like the ones who are fighting for that yarn inch and harder to bring down like Chris Carson's but Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson are not those type of runners. I don't think no Duke Johnson's kind of a bowling ball. He He's good with good good pass catching and he's basically a third down back with them. I think Gotcha is going to be a good game. I agree with you. I think it's going to be close probably back and forth a bit it really. It depends on how James Wisdom placed James Wisdom plays like he has been playing here recently. We shouldn't have a problem with this game. However Davis comes out and he starts screwing up? We're really going to need our defense to step it up. It's going to be interesting to see how the wide receivers do. This is GonNa be the first time all season we haven't had both of our starters This is so great Mike Evans and thank God Godwin to start the game. Yeah and then so pyramids once all star Scottie Miller published. Now he's on. I R O is he I think so did I straight that Hornet listening to me. Listen to you what did you say. I don't even know if it was they. Don't even listen to yourself now. We didn't hold on. I gotTa look this up because I'm pretty sure might have been earlier in the week two days ago today. Josh Sir what do we do. We have what I'm saying like we sign these emergency signed. Hyman Hainan was brought up from the practice squad. So so it's GonNa be precise repairman and just watson is willing to. I'm telling you this is the perfect game name to bring out a break Jay Howard and just just playing around those two. Yeah I agree I would love to see it and essentially Ashley Howard. I don't think has really gone opportunity to have A. He's had like one game where he got some yardage but otherwise their lives. It's been he's been in there primarily blocking and they need to stop doing that. I agree it's one of the reasons why I run. Game is is not as good as it could be because Howard is just not that efficient in blocking so hopefully they will get him involved with the passing game break too. I just love and him and James Really seem to have a good rapport. If you see if you watch the DENVER GAME HOUSTON DENVER. They just told fortune with those tiny fant and I dropped him in fantasy that we put on and then he went off. I'm really surprised that their defense fence is not great. Will they've lost digit one right he's on. IRA lost cloudy. Yeah traded him to Seattle after they franchise China Stack them. None of But Bill Ryan's making all the personnel decisions because they let the GM going off season and never hired one. Roy We talked about that and you said that they probably wouldn't hire a GM when just let him run it. You're right yeah well. That's about Scotty Miller. Yeah you re thinking your the thoughts on this one no. I'm really not because I think Jane is last week. showed what he can do. Yes exactly we didn't have Chris gone in any way right. I mean Parents to become an into his own. Yeah just Watson hourly like you Crou- On that one. Yeah same here well. Both of them Berman Watson we were talking about are on the team. Yeah was that preseason her first couple weeks yeah I think. Probably preseason especially adjusted Watson because I wasn't impressed last season and then this season Oh discounting especially yeah in the preseason repairman got this weird thing when the ball comes to him. I don't what is but he just doesn't catch the ball gracefully. He puts himself in weird positions and he puts his hands up weird too. I hope he corrects that. You know I don't know I just might be playing style and I think once you get to this point in the professional level kind of like with James says like he has when he is. I don't know how much you can go l. about changing them. This is true so that's going to be interesting. Yeah this is. This is a perfect opportunity to to really highlight are tight ends hopefully really hopefully the buccaneers offense coordinators and stuff had saw Denver's playbook on how to just stop if you have game pass go after that game. It was really interesting. They did beat the crap out of the Texans. There are hitting them hard on both sides of the ball. Man I can't believe retainer Hudson is out. He's been hurt a lot this year. We have had I'm inactive. I think the first few games in the season then went all clear went on I R. I think they started activating him but not really using them that much. We've still got jorde legged to a tiny active. I liked him during the preseason. It's going to be interesting interesting. Donald Smith Hill most likely play. Yeah I think so too. If he didn't play I would probably really be worried. Would you keep josh wells in there. Would would you start Josh walls again or give Hawkins or Stinian chance Josh Wells. Yeah I think so too. He wasn't on the the ball he's a backup. And when you when you're getting your opportunities sixteen weeks in the season fifteen weeks will these these Texans they come in hard on the edge edge Mercilus and yeah that Scott Smith piece. On buccaneers DOT.

"As well late in the holiday season as all the lights in the trees are down. But we'll do that later on this hour. Well, we did not have many shows together Taza myself due to vacation a through the month of December. But the Saturday games, you know, let's start with the game. That was kind of a snooze our first, and I get to the damore intriguing one which was the the Cowboys in the Seahawks game, which went Dallas's way as they marched on. But. L the Houston Texans. And to Shawn Watson got outplayed. And and really got their butts handed to Indianapolis Colts and late Saturday afternoon down in Houston. And that is a disappointing loss for that. Texans. Franchise who started the aero three one nine straight in the regular season Watson got healthier better as the season went along. And I thought I a couple of headlines for me when I come out of that game. As the reason why number one is luck is is just right now, he's playing back in the national. He really is. Draw when that game was being decided in the first half. Luck was brilliant through you know, he had twenty twenty one nothing before at six minutes and forty eight Mark of the second of the second quarter enroll purposes that game was over the colts came out like a team on fire. They took advantage of mental and bad penalties mental mistakes and bad penalties by the Houston. Texans on their opening drive to punch it in seven nothing. So I look at it. The texans. I thought were sloppy the colts were Kris Burley the game was decided early to Shawn Watson even with that game being barging game ties. There were throws for schol Watson make that he just missed. He was downright terrible. And I thought it was a big game player and on Sunday on on Saturday afternoon. He came up quite small play. Sean did not play good awful. And you're right. The the colts. You know, what I saw Matt you know, they win the game. Twenty one seven. Right. So so they set a tone from from the first series and had the ball. Just like we discussed on Friday. And that's exactly what happened is the offensive line for the Indianapolis Colts. They set a tone. They set the table that we're going to push you, Texan de linemen and linebackers off the ball. And what this is all a lot of scrimmage. We're going to own it, and we're going to own it every series, and that's exactly what that old line. Did they they were spectacular as advertise? They kept JJ quiet JJ watt. They kept cloudy, quiet. They kept the Texans. Defense quiet. And and we had a feeling that was going to happen. That's shores. How what happened MAC? Also ran the ball. Great for the colts here close a hundred fifty yards rushing. So he played really well. I mean, so TY Hilton's just been clutches. Heck, I mean, so you know, what you're right. Andrew luck is just really he looked spectacular. I mean, I still can't believe that he's back play into this level at the super high level after the layoff. He had and how long he was out. Very impressive. It is the touch slows the t y Hilton just off the charts and a gift Frank Reich and his staff credit the offensive line, set a tone. No question, it's been a huge issue. It's been a strong point to that team all season. They got Ryan Kelly backed the former Alabama crimson tide star center back at Senator dealt with a neck injury this year, which caused him to miss some games. And the colts are a better football team right now, I thought Bill O'Brien in Romeo. Cornell got out coached. I didn't exactly know what cornell's defense was trying to do where you saw colts colts receivers run free..

"The third best record in the Eastern Conference right now, they are off until Friday may play the bulls up in Chicago. It's still up in the air. Whether or not miles Turner is gonna play in that game because he broke his nose in a game at the field house on New Year's Eve. So the Pacers are doing their thing. And of course, the Indianapolis Colts. It's so fun to have big meaningful football games back in the city. This is so fun. I was forgot what this was all right for so long. The good old days are back for so long. You know, we were spoiled with Peyton and Marvin and Reggie and then there were some downtime, and you know, Andrew luck had that trip to the AFC championship game thought. Oh, okay. This is going to become a regular thing. What hasn't become a regular thing been the total opposite. But man, I love this team so much and now they are back in the playoffs. They take on the Houston Texans for the third. Third time this year Saturday four thirty that game is on ABC. Which means you're getting the Monday night. Football announcers that include Jason Witten. So I highly advise you turn down the sound and turn up. Our sister station. Ten seventy the fan and other colts news, congratulations to the maniac. Darius Leonard has been named the AFC defensive player of the week for the second time he joins Marvin Harrison Edgerrin James as the only colts rookies to ever earn player of the week honors multiple times. So yeah, man, I'm fired up for this weekend. And I'm thrilled with the turnaround man because one of those individuals that hammer whether I had anything to do or not. I'm just one of those guys that feels responsible for anything that ever goes wrong. Looking forward to coming back to Indianapolis because we had a winning team, and they were doing great when I was in L A. And then I come back and all of a sudden there's this turnaround and they're not doing so. Well, and he'll like when I'm in Vegas. I'm the cooler man, if you want to see a guys winning streak, come to an end, no kidding. Just send me up at the table. It's over. So I'm glad to see that they seem to have overcome my bad luck.
