"They also took control of the lynch's theory, which is that the confluence of the Bayou and so for those who are not Texans or from the southeast from Louisiana anywhere by you is a creek basically that is generally part of marshland. It's either through or has marshland attached to it. Then this Bayou empties out into the center river, which runs through modern Houston. And this was they were intending to prevent Santa Anna from escaping. So they had control of the ferry crossing and they basically had control of this Peninsula plant. So the Texans were headed towards them, Santa Anna learned to this and he ordered his army to march towards the confluence of the body in the river. He was going to try to take control back of the ferry. Now they camp with the river on the right and a Lake, which is called Peggy Lake. This is not a natural Lake. This was sort of a backed up Bayou backed up creek that formed the pool of water. This was on their back. In between the army and the Lake is swampland. And so the Texans were directly across in Mexicans with two armies only about 500 yards apart. So to give you a mental idea of the way the battlefield looks at the time. Coming from the north so basically a picture on a map, the city of Houston today. And then you've got the city, you got the Galveston, which is south and east of Houston, on the coast. So between there, just south of the city of Houston, south and east of the city of Houston, is what you would call Baytown area, Laporte area today. But at the time, there's this Bayou and it makes kind of a you turn from the west to the northeast. And then it meets up with the San jacinto river and that sort of runs northeast to southeast. And there's a basically this marshland that kind of jets out in sort of a broad Peninsula, and not a true Peninsula that kind of a broad Peninsula or an outcropping. And then next to the Bayou on the left is a particular trees, and on the far right, on the other side, facing the San jacinto bay is another thicket of trees. And then there's some basically marshy lakes that are around this area. And so basically Santa Anna sort of followed the Texans into kind of a corner, a dead end corner, but the Texans controlled the ferry. And so they actually controlled one of the exits from this area. The other side to the left is a bridge across the buffalo Bayou. It's called Vince's bridge. It was about a mile or so away. And the Mexican army and the Texan army before them had actually crossed into this. And so Vince's bridge is going to be important. So Santa Ana somehow allowed himself to be maneuvered so with his back to the San jacinto river where the texians were between him and the ferry and for the most part also between him and the bridge. But he had a superior force and so he counted on his superior force and he had slightly the higher ground in this area of the sentence into area. And he arranged his lines in front of these Woods that were on the right side of the battlefield and the San jacinto river at San jacinto bay, part of the battlefield. Right on April 20th, small skirmish, of course, this is 1836. Small skirmishes broke out with the Mexicans trying to lure the texians out of the Woods and to open ground, but Houston did not take the bait. Many of his men, however, wanted to fight right away.

"Loan options. 7138020606, Texas L O a n star dot com. News and information continues now on Houston's morning news supported by very calm 5 18 is their time here on Houston's Morning News Micro, My brother from another mother on Fox yesterday. People say we look a little bit of like, or we could. We could pass his siblings that we had to do so sounds a little bit of like. He's got a new show. But he was on talking about fossil fuels. And, um he really did feel like a brother from another mother cause I think he's been saying a lot of the same things that that you've been saying that I've been saying about, you know, is there Is there really this big of a disconnect with Americans? Who who don't think past what's going into their cars, their gas tank or or flipping the switch on their H V A C system? You mean everybody except Texans? Yeah, everybody except Texans. Well, I don't know. I mean, people who got in the Barnett shell show up in Pennsylvania they understand and North South Dakota understanding, but But the rest of country seemingly does not you. You would think in a place like Los Angeles, for example, that is so ego centric. With plastic surgery. Where did where did you think some of those parts they're coming from that you're getting inserted. Where do you think? Where did all the all the all the lipstick and all the makeup and all the other? Where's that stuff come from? That's what he talked a little bit about. It is kind of interesting to see the candidate that was supported by big labor. Do something that is so clearly not in the interest of big labor. I guess. You know, the cognitive dissidence is interesting to ruminate upon. But Look, I don't think Don't think this story from where I'm sitting anyway is it is just about the loss of jobs, which is a big deal. Nor is it just about the potential loss of energy independence, which is an even bigger deal. It's about both of those things. But from my perspective, it's also about the incredible degree to which so many millions of Americans have become disconnected from the role of fossil fuels in their personal daily lives. Not just at the pump and not just at the thermostat inside of the house, but with everything from Yoga pants to the plastic keys on my keyboard Right now, This is We have affirmatively embarked. It seems upon a larger plan where it's OK to make energy the enemy. And I think a lot of what's playing out right now. Around this story are the logical symptoms of what a reasonable person might expect to happen when a country Decides that there is truth in the claim that the world's going to end in 12 years if that's the motivation, I hope you'll circle that original date on your calendar. So, 12 years now we can all talk about still here, huh? 5, 21 time for traffic and weather together. Let's get you caught up on the Dr Julie. Honey, what's going on?
