"You know whether it's Housley recruiter right you know sometimes in the middle season you've already hired someone but it doesn't seem like there's any there's been any sort of mission evidently too just like sort of nail it and got young guy I'm going to get the best guy you know I haven't done that yet Biles ball was I thought he was convincing like this but maybe he really just didn't have the chops either you know the that's I think what they would want to do get a tall I mean they talk to McCollum last year when he went to LA instead that's right that's right and he's kind of like the last for that reason somewhere for that right you know but Boudreau ma'am I mean that's that's kinda hot and you've got guys have been to the finals and won you know one rounds levy a light is one of these guys in boulder as well and they come available so are you serious are you are you for real and if if the Sabres want to just which they should in my in my opinion if they want just to charge this thing again and just try to convince fans and everyone else that they are like a real team this is this is like not a joke then that's a move yeah and if Krueger goes and he goes I think it's really hard to do that right now you know I doesn't it seem I don't know we sound you know we're we're we're in it I mean we are we are live in it but I'm thinking of conversations I hear on Toronto radio and you know toxic and it's just in one cycle gonna ask to get out of there and like that's a conversation and it's not to say like that therefore ease the conversation around the league but if if you're gonna wonder like the Sabres fans are wondering and like we talked about this week when does cycle reach of some sort of tipping point what is the reputation of your organization right now like if you call Peter Laviolette on the phone well trained people him out does he go and I don't like it I'm sure doesn't tell you this like if you're Terry pergola but it was also a there's someone at the door actually yeah right like I I just everything I've heard about what's going on there does it nothing sounds good I don't want any part of that well what's Babcock by the way you mentioned Toronto there's another name right is is he somebody like what what what what do you want to do here fit the Sabres have a credibility problem a major credibility problem I think look it in the fan base if not in the league yeah they definitely have it in the fan base and we got what I'm suggesting here is that it it could exist within the league and that is big trouble that's why he's got a route for what you're doing currently to somehow work and young how's that going not good but we got football coming up but for some hockey in the back in the show again with Paul and we'll get the sale.

"Welcome to skimp from the couch. I'm so excited to be here okay. So we're going to jump in Skim your resume for us. It's been a crazy awesome journey. I started modeling when I was fifteen. I am like a real adventure heart and convinced my parents Let me travel the world at fifteen and working to get yeah. I couldn't convince them to let me stay out to Oleg. I had like my big break at eighteen when I met with. MJ Day. Ah and was a part of the sports illustrated family and went to meet with and work with some of the most iconic people in the industry you know from Ana Wind Tour Tony Goodman Steven Meisel Corinne Rafael Steven Gan. It's just been an awesome journey and made me. I understand my body like I'm losing the skin part of my resume. Um made me really understand my body starting from the place ace of just being the typical model which was like skinny skinny skinny and I wasn't enjoying my life. I didn't have energy on set and I didn't have a whole life but I didn't have enough energy. Gee to go out with friends or be the best girlfriend. I could be so asserted working with Ben Bruno and we find the best way to ultimately love your body. Love your unique differences from everyone else and find your strongest bestself Matz ultimately why I wanted to launch strong for me is bring all that information to the everyday woman. So what is something that is not on your wikipedia page. We should know about you. There's a Lotta lies on I. Look Oh my God. What's the top lie that you're how did someone even make that up that I was a violin player and he's just own that for sure just I would hate to go to a party without a violin? They'd be very disappointed. Well lucky for you. Maybe not like he found while. I know you brought your sister here today and shouldn't have told us as your disturbed. So what is something. We should know about Kate. Sister did remember one thing that was on your wikipedia pedia pages that you graduated from Indiana University. which funny enough is where brother goes now? I didn't even realize that something that we should know about her. That like like no one else does. What was she an annoying younger sister? Oh Okay I was always motivated and driven and so sweet One thank you know. She did. HAVE MOM walk into school every single day. Try Yeah I mean at least fifteen into what do you mean literally until my mom was like I refuse to. IQ It'd be fifty. Yeah she's like you're embarrassing Scott. Housley I don't care where you and Marissa your mom then had to go to school every single day and like did you walk ahead while I was in college college. Yeah so yeah I mean. She's other people thought she's like come on mom. We're going to do you. I WANNA be the emotional support. Yeah I one of the most support I love just like you know having a little chat with her it has. It is one of the things that I don't often say that I have things in common with. I'm excited remodels. But before you were you. You were a competitive horseback rider. Yes and I couldn't compete but I grew up horseback riding and and love it. Yes she compete in college. I was on. I was on my college equestrian team for half a semester. So how old were you when you started competing. I think I was ten years old. When I started competing I really feel like the foundation of being around? Horses has helped me so much in my life. which is the hard work and being ready to get dirty and really put in the effort and learning about something new and the travel at winner on with competing? It's so cool at a young age that you were a pretty accomplished competitive horseback rider and then went on to have this career. Both things are very individual sports which interesting. Obviously there's a horse may have to have a connection. But how do you feel like that. Set you up to do what you went on to do. I mean I feel like it really helped because I was constantly meeting New People while traveling I was constantly out of my comfort zone in new cities. He's and competing. And then I did the same thing in modelling and I think individual sports which I've really learned from my husband is a whole different mindset. Where were you know I really had to get used to the whole team thing can be? Would you like to tell our listeners. Who Your husband is Justin Bieber Lambert? I feel like it's just a completely different mindset that I was able to fall right into and an individual sports jobs you have to represent yourself you are. You're you're only advocate and I was very used to doing that whether it was with horse trainers or judges or anybody in the industry so my modeling agencies definitely were a little shocked that a fifteen year old had as many opinions. I did especially where my career going before you were even able able to give those opinions to the agencies. You had to convince your parents that you're fifteen. You're getting literally walk to your classroom every day by your mom or your like totally really trust me to go across the world completely fine. How did you convince them to the greatest fun fact? I presented them with a five year. Plan I was like I am going to make a career out of this or go to college so I decided if I started at fifteen eighteen I was young for my grade and I could still be in my same age group going into call it a workout. Yep We're GONNA take a break from competing eating horses because it was very stressful a lot on the economy and everything and then that's when I was like great like I'll just go make my own money. Then ah I convince them and they came on a lot of jobs. My mom him down to Miami. I started in Miami with me a lot and she refused to go into my job though which was actually really great. Those probably the right. Yeah like she knew out but she was really wanted me to learn how to represent myself. If your mom's in a room you're going to depend on her we would have prep interviews or prep castings exactly how supposed to act or what I was supposed to say a walk with me so I could handle it myself and make it a career. I did she tell you to say I mean I was fifteen so from everything like how to be professional national how to respond like got into trouble like so. You're at an age where most people are in high school all but also starting to like go out and be social and you are living in an apartment with other models and your mom is there. Sometimes WHOA I was that age like for you because here you are doing something that is GonNa be the backbone into your career and you sound very driven and at the same time you are our young and beautiful and making money and living with a bunch of other girls away from your parents. What was your life like? I worked every single day and ultimately our still proving to my parents that I wasn't moving to Miami just to party so I was paying my own bills and working constantly and I always say models roles who get the reputation of partying doing drugs or either the ones not working or so rich. They're only working a few days year because otherwise you're so exhausted working working twelve sixteen hour days every single day. I remember asking to get days off when I got my period of like. I'm so tired. Tired conversations go agencies like just let us know if you need a day off. I'm like actually I need a week. I'm really curious because it is obvious. How driven you are in Daniel? Just said like clearly from your question career and into into modeling what obviously modeling is infamous for how harsh the criticism is internally. And you know this kind of striving for perfection and these ideals of perfection and we'll talk about the public criticism that you received which is ridiculous. I'm just curious what it was like for you emotionally every day at work to be told turn this way. Look this way. Don't smile like that like what did that do to you. It puts you in a different mindset mindset because suddenly you almost have to remove yourself from your body and just blackout and do what they say and it also leads. I think angrily young models to do that in their everyday life and just do what is being told of them because you can't really especially being a young model have have an opinion on set. It's it's definitely kind of a crazy mindset that puts you in a very very vulnerable place so when the outside critics came in it was so hard on me because mentally. I wasn't strong to handle when you think about you today as now a businesswoman. How do you translate those experiences at that? Young Age. Chew the businesswoman. You are today. Did it feel you did help you. compartmentalize where do you think it laid the foundation for you today. Yeah definitely only fueled me. It made me learn that I really need to speak my mind and that my opinion does matter because of all those experiences and you know there was so how many times onset when I'd be like way more efficient if they would just do this or if they would just shoot me from this angle. 'cause I already know that lightings bad it it's GonNa take three hours by would just keep my mouth shut because no one wants to listen to the model onset and now I'm like no. My time is worth something and I'm going to say it and we're going to move on. We're going to get this done right. Did you feel like you had a support system in those early years. You weren't the household name and you had those opinions. I mean my family was a huge support system for me but ultimately nobody in my family was involved in industry previously so they could only give me advice from their personal life experiences so I felt a little bit lost becoming well known it was like how do I deal with anything. Everybody was overwhelmed. No one really knew the advice to give me and then shooting the other woman cameron and Leslie gave me like just so many life lessons. That was such a fun movie to watch. I had fun and watching it and it seems like you guys had fun filming it so much fun. Filming US shade you find mentorship from Rotary with other models that were coming up at the same time or is it pretty competitive. I feel like it's not as competitive as people think because when you're a model it's up to the client. I'm maybe the only place that it gets competitive is your agents like Oh is my agent giving me those same opportunities or I should be doing this. I never felt like I was competitive. Have with other girls and you ultimately do work with other models so you become friends. You're in the same place. I mean everybody. She has jealousy but I didn't feel like it ran friendships or

"Now in your blog which people can follow at Geelong money you talk about making sure we're ready to get into twenty twenty seven even with the site hustles a lot of people have so what are some of the things we need to think about as we get ready to wrap up this year I know is only six weeks to go before the end of the year but even die I would say in a week I've got maybe eight days to get people excited about this because we want you to find some money or at least prevent yourself from having any surprises the first thing to do is to go to iris dot gov use the calculator that they have on there it's it's called the withholding estimator and what you want to do is see whether or not you have withheld enough money to pay your tax bill in April if not you got some time here so you could actually make some adjustments through your workplace and maybe have a little extra money withheld conversely if you've over with help I know everybody loves that that refund but you don't really want it maybe you could use the cash flow during the holiday season maybe that extra money will prevent you from even going into debt so I urge you and again with you if you got a little side Housley got some gig work maybe you just add some contract work don't forget nobody was holding back taxes for you so you may actually some money to Uncle Sam in April now may be a good time to see have you know do I have enough money in the bank should I be paying quarterly estimates a few of these things just in the next week or so if you can do this now you may get a jump on the tax season and prevent a lot of headaches Jill thank you very much still Slazenger CBS news senior business analyst you can follow or online at Jill on

"The last couple of years Phillies, a great man, he put a tremendous minute time and effort into helping the organization I wish him and his family all the best moving forward. Sabres general manager Jason Bochum there. You heard it live here on WJR just a few moments ago. His press conference announcing officially that the firing of Phil Housley is happening his sabres head coach no longer, and we're here to react with you phone number to do so eight oh three oh, five fifty or toll free one eight five fifty to five fifty lot of quotes from sabres GM Jason Botula tried to tweet out as many as I could at Brian jar. Of course are WJR Twitter handle as well. You can check that out Paul. Hamilton was at the press conference. Of course, you heard some of his questions we'll have him coming up in about twenty minutes or so from now live from key Bank center to give you his take on what he heard destroying to take it all in today. We've heard a lot of coaching names thrown about not only linked to the sabers but linked to other teams. Of course, I know a lot of fans wanna know about Joe Quinn bell, the former Chicago coach, and we're seeing a lot of reports about his link with Florida Panthers. Other names circulating throughout we'll continue to. Keep you posted. As information comes in from a lot, of course, the hockey reporters from around the world that are covering this. Lot of coaching news going on we expect more head coaching firings. Probably within the next day or so with the regular season ending last night. But the sabres get right to it. Phil Housley was scheduled to meet with the media yesterday or tomorrow at two o'clock, and then the sabres general manager Jason Botula three, but that obviously won't happen because buffalo today deciding to make a head coaching change, and we'll get a chance to play more of the sound bites from the sabers GM and a little bit later on. If you missed it in the in its entirety will ris air, everything that the sabers GM had to say so Paul Hamilton coming up and don't forget, we've got lots of information BULLDOGS. Gotta call him up already Paul's got an article up if you wanna check out everything there is that you need to know. More perspective more analysis, go to WJR five fifty dot com. So Brian cozy with you here we are at five eight Howard. Stick is. Around here. We'll see if he's got anything more interesting to add he will Brayton's here Jonathan here as well Paul's down a key Bank center. So we'll keep everything that's going on here along the way. But just to censor before we get into some calls here. This is a move that you know, if you've obviously listened to the post game show regularly. I just thought had to be made. This is not a fresh take his just obviously something that I feel like was obvious. The one hesitation that. I kept having was will the Padilla's make another coaching change. And my argument has always been if Phil is not the guy that it didn't matter if you'd fired one hundred coaches in the last one hundred days, if you truly believe Phil Housley was not the right guy to lead this franchise going forward as the head coach than you had to go ahead and make the move, and they did it and the results of the second half. I think we're something that obviously has Jason Baccio said to right away. And you notice he didn't even take a question on it right away. His basically upfront reasoning after he thanked him was about the results in the second half of the season. And the only thing that I could pick a hole in on. That is that if there was a guy that he really wanted to replace if Joel Quenneville was the guy he really wants to replace was somebody else. Why didn't you do it sooner? This all of a sudden wasn't a story that just developed at the end of March or in this last week of the season. This team was very poor. And. Awful to watch for a long time during December and January and February and March and for me the spot where I thought the season could have been saved was that seven game homestand to start. February. You looked at the strength of the schedule of those games. They did not have very much in terms of what you'd say difficult opponents on the schedule. There was a chance there to maybe steer what had gone off course very much. So to me, I thought that was Phil Housley last chance. And if anything it went off the drills even more at that point that awful loss to the Blackhawks on February first that Friday night that opened up that home stand that could have been I think a real spot for maybe buffalo to get themselves back in it had they had a good home stand. Maybe they went six in one or five one and one or something along those lines or even five and two points in the standings that would have moved themselves back into the race. And that would have given themselves meaningful. Games in March and player development is one of the biggest catchphrases that Jason Botula has used during his tenure and part of development is understanding how to play it pressure situations how to play in playoff type atmosphere how to play when the other team needs it just as much as you do the sabres and the current makeup of these players most of them still have not gone through that experience partially. Why we always talk about having the youngsters go play in Rochester. Now. And you hope if you're a fan of the sabers organization that they can make a long run any H L playoffs. So that they can gain that playoff experience. So they can gain what it's like to play in a very very high intense pressure situation when everything hits a little harder and everything's a little tighter. And everything's a little faster and the refereeing as we know in hockey becomes a little different at that point. It's a good opportunity for all those players to go through that the majority of the sabers roster haven't done that at the professional. Level. A lot of the sabers roster have had great success either in their junior days there collegiate days there overseas time, but National Hockey League time they have not. And I think it's run its course on some of these players the obvious ones. Johan Larson's Gergen's that crew it's run. Its course it's time to move on from those guys. And then maybe some new guys Rasmi crystalline a guy that I feel like has taken a beating from fans, and I was for a long time one that wanted to defend the line. And I still thought his upside outweighed a lot of the negatives that I was seeing. But boy, did he digress. As the season went on. Did he look like whatever Phil Housley wanted him to do in the defensive end. It looked like he had no clue. And one thing that Howard, and I were talking about during the break is how about the fact that this wasn't Phil Housley? I two months the last two months where his worst two months, and he was hired from Nashville with the basis of look what he did with that predator defensive core. And yes, they were talented. There's no doubt. And the sabres didn't have the talent level the maybe national head, especially depth wise on the blue line. But boy was he gonna come in and really really shape this defense and use their offense of skill and their speed, and they're passing ability, which we had thought had improved and that was going to really help turn around this team that we all knew still lacked depth upfront at the forward position. Yes, they added Jeff Skinner, but beyond that there's really three players that they could have counted on offense Eichel Skinner and Reinhard. And there was a fourth to me that had interest and that was middle stat. And he offense at times, very disappointing. But not going to go at him. I mean, he's. Just a year and a half out of school out of college. But other than that the rest of the forwards you want to sit here and argue, they were useless. They were disappointing. They performed well below average. They instead of developing looked like they were headed on downslide. You could argue that about all of them in Thompsons name that comes out right away. Connor Sherry a guy that I loved his effort. I loved his energy. He couldn't finish. I don't think he progressed. I think he just stayed on a steady curve Jason Palmdale. A very nice player. We know he's a classy guy. He is not going to be a problem in the room. But it's probably time to move on and turn that page as well. There's not many players up front to me that I think that the sabers really could have counted on. So how's lease resume builder? Look what he did with the fence. He wasn't NHL defensive and he was so talented at at a hall of fame defenseman that defensive group really struggled the sabers as a whole when you put the whole team together forwards defense and goal. Early in their end. It got worse. And it got worse. And it looked like the tankers at times with some of the time that we saw the opposition have puck possession in Buffalo's end, and it got worse. And guys didn't look like they were communicating and veterans and young defensemen. Didn't seem like they were on the same page. And then flip it the young forward with the veteran defense scandal and big ocean. And Hristo and guys like that. They looked like they weren't anywhere. They needed to be, and you, and you sit there and wonder what is Phil Housley really trying to get out of these guys you hear the message after games you hear the message in pre-game interviews of what he wants the defense to do. But boy when you watch games, you're like, well, that's not it. That's not it. Why is this? Why are there two defensive and over on the same side? Why are there four players behind the goal line? Whatever system was alternately. The players were not the word we'd like to use growing with it. It was a big decline there. And to me that was a huge reason that we saw the slide and to me the only thing that I wish that it would happen earlier with how quick NHL coaches get fired look at the Blackhawks fired a coach that has multiple Stanley Cups. The penguins fired their coach we know it's switched and they went on to win a Cup. We know as well with Sullivan. So the NHL fires coaches all the time. Teams have a bad two weeks. And they fire established coaches to me, I if there was if there's a name that ultimately Jason botch or wants, and it might be Joel Coen Ville who knows? And they lose out on him to another team here in the next few days. I'm still going to be really annoyed of the fact that he didn't pull the trigger on this sooner. And yes, ultimately, I think it's the right decision. But she's did you need another.

Because you had the ten game win streak. You know, you're still playing for something. You just gotta get it back on the rails. Well, now, it's off the rails and the season's over. So now, it's almost like if it was off the rails, forty five games. Okay. But it Lille why you fight it back. Then. Doubt by. It's a different set of players now mindset, then it was back when you came in in the nineties, and I mean, I think my my generation was kind of that new wave of trying to say that I'm waiting out of the game in two thousand eleven. Well, there are new age. How about this? This is a question. How many times does give me an answer here? How many times have we seen in the last number of games? And I'm talking when I say number of games going back to thirty games. They they talk about loss. Coverage not knowing defense responsibilities. Fills talking about a guy in the offensive zone. Trying to win a battle in the corner. He's got one guy behind the net hoping that he gets the puck when he should be reloading back being above the puck being more defensive side of the park. I mean how many times? Do you have to say that over and over and over and over before something changes? I don't know. I honestly don't know. I I was reading some tweets here. So I think I kind of zoned out on what you were saying there, which is very very likely, but I believe it was really good. Four nothing lost last night. You know, obviously ribbon. I miss coverages miscarriages. I mean, I it. I mean, not the game's not about scoring goals. The game's not about scoring goals. The game's about protecting being a defensively hard responsible team to play against and that will translate into offense because there's a ton of offensive players ton of offensive line players. But there's a whole bunch of them that have no idea how to play in their zone. They have no idea how we're talking about loss. Coverage. We're talking about a dentist buying danger. Well, you better find the right players. Are we going to be in this situation for a long time game plans? One thing motivations and other. Is it Phil house these job to motivate the players to go and play to find the energy to Rev the engine? And I'm asking because people are asking me on Twitter like whose job is it to motivate the players. I mean when a guy says we weren't ready to play or I mean, what does that mean to me to me? I to me it. I don't believe that Phil house. He's not going in there and doing meetings before the game and drawing up some kind of a scheme now. So is is it is it on the coach. 'cause I never thought that it was on Lindy or Jacques Lemaire. They were the only two coaches I played for in the NHL you played for a lot more than I did too. Pretty good coaches. I played for and and I feel like. It's not Phil house. These raw raw speech. I don't think he has to go in there like Al Pacino in any given Sunday and give some some motivating speech. You know, look at the guy next year. I don't I don't feel like that's that's where it comes from. So is it is it on Phil Housley to motivate the team to motivate the team. That's all. That's my question. I'm asking you. Because I don't believe it is I sit here, and I think that. It should be easy. It should be easy to get motivated. Fern NHL hockey game. It should just come naturally. You would. Thank you. You would think. Jack spoke about it a lot in his and his interview and talked about there were in the National Hockey League. Everybody has to be better you have to be there preparing Kyle okposo talked about it. Also, you know, we're we're elite athletes were professional athletes. You have to go out and earn your stuff each and every night, not only for yourself and for your team, but for your family, this is your livelihood. Did. It look like anything like that last night. Like you have to put this in perspective. This is the worst team the league that's been depleted of all of their top players. Did that look like a team? In Ottawa that was just going to roll over. They came out. And I don't even know how players on their team the reality is they they worked extremely hard. They were extremely hard. And we here in buffalo hot moments. We had moments of some really nice play. But it's just not consistent. And you ask yourself why? While you know, what it's it's really not for for the fan base to figure this out. This is something that needs to be figured out with the management. Jason. This is his team. Phil Housley is gonna coach what he's given. And. We're gonna try and we're going to try and get better. And that's reality. I mean, I I don't. The thing that concerns me as I see Jack Eichel that he looks like he's depleted. He looks like he's mentally and emotionally completely frustrated because he he's in another situation of losing. And when you're in a losing culture for for a long time, it begets it almost becomes. Your identity. I hate to say it, and it's extremely difficult to get out of it. And right now there needs to be change. There needs to be changed on this team. Believe me there's a lot of offense of talent on this hockey team. We've got a young hockey team. That's making a lot of mistakes rate now. But that being said there needs to be that continue push. There's a lot of really really exciting. Dynamic pieces on this team. But there's there's there's there's some change that needs to happen on this team for this team to move forward and continue to get better. And it's not it's not just about sitting there waiting for our young guys to get better. It's so much more than that. There has to be trades that make this team better. And we have to wait for our younger guys to continue to mature. That's but I mean, there's a lot of areas. You you watch the last fifty games. I mean, the last fifty games have been absolutely horrendous horrendous eight oh three oh, five fifty eight five fifty to five fifty if you want to get in on the conversation instigators on WGN five fifty MSG. He's Craig revealed fifty two and I'm at the instigator seventy six on Twitter show is at the instigators. There were listen, I one guy I wanted to talk about I mean, obviously, you know, the the result and the effort and or lack of effort I should say when everything else that stood out in the game. I let's talk about World War II feel like we'll Borgen had a very steady. Eddie, very good game. I first NHL game. Not not gonna while. You not gonna do anything flashy. But I'm gonna tell you what he moved that. Doc up the ice and advanced it up the ice a few times you made some nice soft plays tape to tape passes. I thought were thought when I saw plays. I mean like like like nice skill passes to guys threaded couple of needles to to help a breakout. And I thought he looked pretty good. Listen. I mean for me. I mean, he he's. When I say change and things need to change here in buffalo. Obviously when you're not having success you have to try and find solutions. This is this is a young man that we've brought in a lot of extremely talented players when we're talking with Darlene when we're talking a brand name on tour, even a Lawrence pilot. These guys are highly offensive. They move the puck extremely well. They want to jump into the play constantly the areas where they're going to have a harder time is in their defensive zone. They're not as they're not as good defensively. As maybe a stay at home will Borgen tight defensemen. He's going to be harder to play against he's going to be a bigger thicker body is going to be more physical. We need more players just like Wilber organ now. We'll Borgen's knocking. Wow, you you're not gonna watch ten games of this this young, man. And you're not gonna sit there after the ten games and say, this guy is absolutely the most incredible defenseman ever..

"Shut out four times in the last nine games. What's the number one thing that gives national football people a perception of buffalo. Our weather the bills, oh, you mean sports? The perception is the bills. Nobody cares about the sabers nationally. It's cold in Philadelphia to no it isn't. Anyway, it's not cold in Green Bay. It's cold and Cleveland, always cold here, again is I've I've I've come off offer sheets and all these other hills. I'm dying I'm dying on this one. It's the team you gotta hills. The sabers of lost thirteen straight road games. They play at home against Detroit tomorrow night. Casey FitzGerald signed to your deal. He was a defensive at Boston College. We'll talk about this with salad moment. NFL approves a one year trial. You can now make offensive pass interference defense, a passive parents and non calls challengeable. No change the onside kick role. No changing the overtime format. And Chris Ivy reportedly is going to be released. No surprise there since they signed Frank gore. Those are your headlines. Hey, real quick your standings update for the jaybird twenty seventh place. What he said twenty eighth is New Jersey. They are four fewer. Points. Twenty-ninth is Detroit here tomorrow night. They have five points L A, an Ottawa look to be pretty solid bets for down at the bottom of the pack. Your NHL updated standings and the sabres by the way of seventy one points with six games left. Updated standings brought to you by Arthur pressman, western New York's traffic and DWI attorney your ticket to Justice Ottawa has sixty points. One more win for them. They will have the same number of points as the sabers did last year. So three more points in their final six games and every single team in the NHL will be able to say they're better than last year. Sabres in case the sabers wanna say that eight oh three oh, five fifteen got lines open. If you want to get in before we get to sell just to follow up that McDermott thing. I I moved to buffalo. I'm not I didn't live here. I moved here. I did not have a negative perception when I moved here did not think this place is terrible that I'm moving I just moved to buffalo. And I just think we we we we can all do a lot do a favor we just stopped pretending that everyone thinks it's terrible here all the time because I don't think that's true. I had a negative perception when I moved here, I'm not gonna lie. My brother was in college during the blizzard of seventy seven I didn't really feel good about his time here. So maybe I shouldn't be going above state, but it worked out great. But you know, hopefully, the bills are a big part of changing that perception the sabers at one point we're changing that perception here right this hockey heaven and two thousand seventeen ESPN names on the number one franchise in sports. And the bills in the nineties or legendary. So, you know, hey, one thing that can help change the perception is if the teams are good, then you don't talk about that stuff anymore. So that's all Sal is here from with us from Phoenix and brought to you by New York's only outlet liquor when you need to stock up. It's the place to buy a case. What's your outlet? Good morning. Sal. How are you? Actually, guys. Good morning. I know you're out there for NFL owners meetings. And they there were there was big news yesterday with the rules. But I'd love to get your your thoughts on on Phil Housley and some of the comments from Terry per since he was asked a lot about the hockey team yesterday. Not surprisingly. Well, look, I I really get the feeling and he was asked as part of this. You can read the transcript on our site. They just they don't want to go through this again and keep doing this all the time. Now, they might still ultimately might wind up making a change. Right. I mean, that's that's on the table. It seemed to me like the door is open for that. Although it was hey, we trust in what Jason wants to see like Jason basically supporting Phil's. So it seems like there's a lot of trust that what Jason botch was doing here. And it's going to be maybe him spearheading this as they had to go forward. But I just get the sense that the goal is don't wanna keep changing all the time. Whether it's football hockey bowl, their head coach in that was and it has been a part of the discussion the continuity, and those kinds of things. So I don't think that it's off the table. I don't think it's just not going to happen. But it seems like right now that, you know, they're trusting Jason wants Jason boxer thinks that house they can still be the guy at least from what he said it's saw that to Sal. And I think that's to me that bothers me because you. You should never keep a coach. Because while we've already fired other coaches. That's just not a good enough reason. It's almost as if you'd say, hey, you know, what let's let's not fire Rex Ryan because we can't be firing a coach every so often, and it was the right move to move on from him at that point. Sometimes it's just the right move. Yeah. I agree with you. I mean, if that's what it takes. And that's what it takes. They're going to sit down, and they're gonna have conversations. And we'll see what happens like I said there were a lot of hay filled trust. Sorry Jason trust. Ville Terry said fill is still young coach. She was a great player, he communicates. Well with the players gave them a lot of praise. He said a lot of really positive things about him. But clearly there was still that door open of, hey, we're going to have meetings at the end of the year. We're gonna talk about the changes that need to be made Terry did say, obviously, there has something has to change. And we don't know what that is yet. But we're going to find out, and we're gonna try and figure it out from between Terry and Kim Pergola, did you gain any insight or have any get any feel for what they're talking about? When it comes to the stadium discussion. Well, look, I mean, we know we've we've heard before that. They are going to put a lot of weight in what the survey says they want to hear what the fans want. And then they're gonna go from there and try and figure out economically. If the fans what is doable here and try to do something at least, I guess as close to that as possible. I did find it interesting that towards the end of the conversation with Terry. He flat out said he does not want a dome stadium. But he did say that he's still going to listen to what the fans want and go from there. But I found that kind of interesting everything does seem to be on the table. And I don't think anybody really ever expected a something like we have in Dallas or even Houston for that matter or would you have up near Zona, but that was kind of reinforced yesterday. Anyway, Terry goal who basically said the answer is a scaled down version of some of these palaces that they're building these places we can't do that here north or should we do that here in buffalo? It's not that kind of city. It's not that kind of market there. Are there are stadiums? Our cities that had those kinds of things I think Ford field is a little bit like that. I think. Pittsburgh is clearly like that. And then Gillette is a little bit. Like that. You know, these are nice stadiums. But you know, I mean, Pittsburgh's maybe more of the bottom end of the newer type of stadiums. But these are nice stadiums that didn't art these other really huge major projects were from these other really big cities that are hosting all these Super Bowls and events coaches breakfast was a part of yesterday as well. From when you were there for Sean McDermott anything come out of that of note. Sean talked a lot about, you know, the roster where it is now where it was how they feel really good about kind of having the ability and the flexibility to get players that they didn't have earlier, you know, the planet that was you know, we talked a lot about Josh Allen is that's a lot of Josh Allen. And I thought it was interesting. He talked about Josh taking ownership of his career Josh s to put the work in isn't just something that, you know, he's just gonna show up in. Hey here are guy now. So here you go. And you know, it's going to be easy street. This is on Josh Allen to take that next step to be that guy in. Yeah, he's going to be the guy walking in from day one, which is every single minicamp and every single training camp rep he's gonna have he's gonna be the number one quarterback. And I think that's a really very big important thing for him. But you know, this is this is Joshua's job here now, and he has to understand that that he didn't before. And it's going to be up to him to have to know really do the things it takes to be that number one guy in the be that franchise quarterback other other than that. You know, the roster where it is now. Like, I said compared to where it used to be Sean feels really good about where they're going the track that they're on the patients that comes in. I'll say this. I think that there's still a little bit of. Hey, we're not quite where we are. We still need to be patient. But at the same time, I think that there is pressure to win, and you can feel it. You can hear it when they speak now that they've gotten this roster to a point where they feel that they can contend for the play offs. And they're going to expect to do that this year. Were you surprised to the NFL story today? Sal, were you surprised that they went where they went offensive pass interference defense a passer Fearance even non calls now all subject to challenge everybody. Here is surprised. I mean, this is just something that we from talking to people and other people talking to people in reading and listening is just something you didn't expect to happen. There did not seem to be a lot of momentum to have these changes. And there did seem to be some momentum for the fourth and fifteen while it reversed in like we sat in like even saying all week, you never know when you get in that room. Who the influential voices? And from what I understand, Sean bean was a pretty influential voice in this. Of course, it was his team that this happened to you know, that they went a long time on this. So that tells me there were a lot of questions a lot of debate. They went around that room. And you know, people are politicking and people are campaigning at the end of the day. This is what we came out with. I don't particularly like it. Yeah, I'm glad it's a one year thing. And they're going to revisit it next year. We'll see how it goes. Maybe by the end of this year. I'll say boy that was that was really good that they did that they really got some calls. Right. They needed to. And it didn't really impact the game or you know, sour the game in any way. But you know, I'm I'm very surprised a lot of people are very surprised that they did this. And you know, we'll see where it sounds to me. It's almost exactly like the offside challenge where you put it in place for the really.

"L as your winner for kucherov in the shootout, he gets it done buffalo. A valiant effort against the best team in the NHL tonight. But ended up falling in the shootout competition and therefore the game by a two to one final scores. We welcome you insider her studios. This is the Paul William belts post game show. I'm Brian Cosio. Thanks for being with us a good game. And by that, I meant not only a much better effort by the sabres. But a good game just to watch. It was entertaining. I thought for all three periods. That's the type of hockey that I like to see and yes, it was only a game sought goal scored one for each team. But some outstanding goaltending tonight by Andrei vasilevskiy and Carter Hutton, and maybe what looked like a bad moment. Earlier today when Lena's ullmark we found out was not going to be able to go. That was initially Phil Housley plan Comes in and plays. Excellent. And looks very very good tonight against the league's best offense. And some of the league's best players as the sabres end up falling by a two to one score coming up here on the post game. Will you will be heading to me arena and get some locker room reaction Paul Hamilton his on his way there now. So we'll get the player thoughts here on this improved effort. Unfortunately, a shootout loss the sabers do get a point they can take solace in that. There was a very busy night on the out of town scoreboard with the other teams involved in the playoff race. It will update you on what the point does did they gain grounded. They lose ground. And how does it all shake out for those of you still interested in the playoff race? Yes. Also will have Phil Housley and his life post game comments when he meets with Paul Hamilton. And the rest of the media. We'll take you there for that. "I misunderstood the question yesterday. I took it as there's any players coming up from Rochester. And that's Jason stuff. That's what I meant about that. Jason I talk on a day-to-day basis about our team. But I have total faith in our decor that they can get the job done. They put it in the past. They put us in this position. And we're going to correct the mistakes. Obviously, we don't have a lot of practice time right now, we showed them and took a very hard look at it. What we need to do to get better. All right. Phil Housley last night with its Jason's job or that's Jason's job today. This meant. Actually. I believe in our guys, and we'll fix the mistakes and that. The point about Jason's job. Applies to Rochester makes sense. Is Phil Housley revealing here? He's feeling some pressure. I I think absolutely. I don't I don't think you answer that question. As I said while Paul on little bit ago. I think even if you accept that he misunderstood the question. I think his answer still reveals a frustration with the with what he's got here to work with that. No, it's up to Jason to decide whether or not Brandon Guli, your will Borgen or whatever whoever's gonna come up here at Borgen's like breaking down the door. But goule he's been up and down. It's been three years. I mean, he he played his first NHL games three seasons ago now. So, you know, there's at least one guy there. So. Yeah, I think I think it's I think it's revealing. I think it says like I'm I'm feeling it here. I'm feeling it. And I don't know that I've got answers is what I hear from from Housley, again, even if you accept that. He didn't understand what he was being asked. So that's how I took it. Here's Andy with us. Hello, andy. Hey, I'm a season ticket holder watch every game when I'm not there, including the last two. The picture. He's got whatever he's got is. What are you guys? I'm watching the players last night. I think they were trying really hard at this. Look like the fatigue was kicking in. There's so many errors being made. The defensive zone. Confidence of pocket. Specially by dallying be kind of saying that that's not a coach's fault. Well, I can't blame housing for the players. He's got he's not picking who's coming in who's coming out. Right. Well, he does pick the lineup. And you know, it wasn't the case last night, but he has left guys out of the lineup and left other guys in and I think some of those decisions have been discussed in rightly so and questioned so he does have some control. He's got eight NHL defenseman at his disposal, and we can only dropped six. I agree. I've actually been following a lot of the reports on who has been putting in the lineup. But I was also looking at guys like wrestlemainia Heikal, you know, trying to figure out how many games they can get away with not showing up for you know, Jack Eichel. Yeah. You know, once in a while to showed up last night, he was the first guy to admit it. I mean we needed him. Okay. I don't know that he admitted he didn't show up. I think he said he should've hit the net on the play that led to the overtime goal. And that's exactly I think what you would expect someone to say after a shot that they take leads to a breakaway that costs you the game. I think there might be an argument here for the roster. But there is no argument here for this is not Phil Housley salt because it's jackals fault. That is the planet. Krypton no way there is no room for that. No way. What's happened to the sabres? This year is less on Housley than it is on Jack Michael now next. How good are these defenseman? You wanna talk about that? Let's talk about that. You've got three or more veteran guys that to varying degrees. I think it's problematic. I think you have that with scandal. I think you have that with the gauzy, and I think you have that with wrist aligning wrist line in the excuse that's been made for him in the past is so many minutes too, many minutes, and he's not quite where that used to be so okay. But you've got three guys there if the if the argument here so far in this conversation is that there's nothing a coach can do or I wouldn't blame him. I can I can listen to that. Then I've got you mentioned lineup decisions. Like those guys are gonna play and they have to play and they have to play a lot of minutes. Probably at least a couple of them. Right. And then there's also an argument for taking scandal. Or even goes, you know, sure, maybe I don't know like they're they're giving up so many goals almost any argument could be made after that, Darlene. And I like pilot is kind of baby doll in here for me for this. You have to. Guys who are in their first year in the league that there should be the it should be on even. I mean, Darlene is great. He's great and pilot has done good things hockey, sometimes fails to acknowledge the pluses and focuses only on the minuses we'd guy call two days ago who was angry and his argument was partly that Bogosian is equal to the best defenseman on the team. If you are playing defense in the league now, and you're like, stay at home, nineteen eighties guy or something like you fail to recognize the positives. The forward the the moving the puck up the ice fast things that Mark Pethick used to do. Well, that it bothered me the sabers didn't acknowledge so there's that then you have McCabe, right? And who else? I don't know. I think you hit them. All there. Didn't you Nelson is out volumes not playing wick is not playing anything. That's a lot of them. That's nine I think eight or nine. Yeah. So look like I. He he's he's got what he's got to work with and on a night where pilot is in. I'm not one to pick apart like who's in. And who's not? I mean, well you for scandal to me, maybe that's an improvement. I don't know. I'm not a huge fan. I think that they shelter him when he plays. And I think scandal could probably sheltering do because I just think he's not he's not he's not up to what he's not fleet afoot enough anymore to really play. And that's what the yesterday in a nutshell is Carolina's team speed just made made a mess of things for them in their own zone. And they just couldn't they they could didn't have time to make plays. So it's just give it away give it away give it away. And it was you know, the results were pretty obvious. Thank you, Andy. Here is Logan next to Logan is how you doing good. I just wanted to comment on how watching the games when the defensive lapses started to happen more you see Housley talking and post game saying how we need more awareness, and we need to take better care of our own ads. But as a Sanders watching not being able to ask myself, I'm just wondering at what point does he get to where if his message is getting across. How is any message from him going to get across? Well, that's the hard part. Right. I mean, hockey coaches, they say are pretty short existence. Anyway, a lot of people talk about messages getting stale. And what so you only get a little bit of a time. He took over a team that was in rough shape, albeit with some real talent. And then last year happened that's on his record this year. It's kind of landing right in the middle of the fairway for the season that most people expect it it's just the order of their results has been screwy. And it's it's messed with us. But what were they supposed to be what kind of pace are they actually on right now. Like eighty-five points Eighty-six points is it higher than that. It might be higher than that. But fifty nine and fifty three it's a little higher than that ninety. Okay. Like, that's really good. Yeah. For what we thought they'd be at the beginning. So. What do you do about? That has been a question. We've asked a lot talked a lot about this week because I think that's hard. I think what you do about that. If you have a ninety point season and missed the playoffs for the eighth year in a row. The struggle. I may I may have and like, it's you know. The results based business and Housley may pay the price. I mean, eventually he will some year another he'll pay the price with his job for the results. Whether it's now or not, I don't know. The difficulty. I'm having is what I've got right now. What what I'm watching? What I think I'm watching him. And I'm no, I'm no more qualified than than ninety five percent of the fans watching. To tell you. But I don't think I've got confused players about the system. I don't think there's a failure to understand what Housley is asking them to do from breakout standpoint from a four check standpoint, I think I had systemic failure with bows. Ma the point where guys were paralyzed. And this is something that has followed biles move around in his career. That he just he there's so much information, and so many options as to what you're supposed to do in a given situation that guys just never really knew what they were supposed to do. And it was just too complicated. I think I've got that what I've got his players. I mean, there's no way that but goes in endow lean and pilot. Will you guys that we like even or restore line who I'd like more than new whoever pick a guy is going out there wanting to leave guys open in the goal mouth like it's not it's not confusion about what Phil Housley wants them to do like, it's rudimentary, it's obvious. But yet they don't seem to do it on a regular basis. And that's a player problem. That is not a coach problem to me. That is dude like Larson, I already made the example twice walk. You're there you're guarding. No one. Take a look over your left shoulder. There is not available there to your backside. Like, take a look. No. That kind of thing isn't talent. No. That's not the same thing. As what you're saying. It's not it's not talent. It's concentration. Yeah. You know? And it's like. Like, maybe there's maybe there's a point to be made about their concentration that circles back to the coach and their effort, I perhaps. But I I don't think I've got guys who don't know what they're supposed to did. You just not really doing it. It's not confusion necessarily. It's almost just I don't know. There was a play. We were watching the game tonight. We're all together for sitting with Joe watching one of the goals by Minnesota is a play where Gergen's it doesn't take much Gergen sans is right at the goal line near the near the right goalpost. And or maybe a few feet from the goalposts, and he's he stopped the plays behind the net. And there's a guy coming behind him that if he just sort of stays with your mind, you've got them covered and the player behind the net has no one to pass the puck too. But Gerguson just furrow pause watches is watching the puck. He just stops. And his watching the puck the guy gets opened its in the net. That's it. That's all it takes. It doesn't. It's not like these guys need to get Joe. Buck would say wide open it it doesn't take much. But you stop for a second to just I don't know what they're doing or what they're thinking. But they're just looking at the puck instead of continuing to flow to wear their responsibility is and I don't know how at this age you coach that out of players..

"The Saturday home. That's right. Friday night in Washington gas when Saturday their home for right? Okay. Unless mandatory Christmas break throughout the NHL. Okay. Glad that you knew that just testing you really is all I was doing there and the roster freeze begins tomorrow nineteen. So we should really look out for big trades tonight. Because tomorrow. After after tonight, they're gonna wait midnight tonight, Jason will be tipping his hand to you later on telling you about all the trades. That are coming in the next few hours. If he's like other guys through the years with that. We'll know when he doesn't show up on time. Right. That will be the right. The best story. I've got about that is waiting on a day that you were off. Or in the sabre store before seven hundred six existed waiting for Tim Murray show up and getting taxed at saying. He's late. He's late. He's not coming. And then like Ryan Miller, that's Miller. That that was. Okay. Well, I I can't complain. I had a good excuse. That's a good excuse to not be nothing. I don't think he got traded. I think it was right after I got done. Maybe I don't whatever. Anyway, the trait trade happened. I think he should have shown up and actually done the negotiation right on the air with sure that sounds like a great idea could've announced it. What what how surprised if at all? I imagine you had to be somewhat surprised about this Bergelin situation. Paul. I it just last week at this time. He was sick. We thought maybe he was I dunno. But Saturday, suddenly there's a release and he suspended indefinitely. I mean, what kind of light? Do you have to shut on this? If any. Well, I I don't know. But if the sickness or whatever because he was extremely upset the two times he had been scratched a healthy scratch. And it seemed like he was on his way to another one the day before it was a Tuesday game the day before and practice. He was the extra forward. So it looked like that he was going to maybe be the healthy scratch again the next day. And that's the day. Phil Housley showed up and said that Berg Linda's ill and will not be playing. So that was on a Tuesday. And then. Yeah. I went through the week. And there was no sign of him. No practice. He doesn't show up for the plane, and that that means he's suspended, and you know, he basically didn't show up for work and. I don't know it just all seems a little fishy to me, especially since it appeared he was going to be out of the lineup. Again. I don't think he's a fan of Phil Housley is I don't think he's a fan of being here. He's never he's always set the right things that he's been welcomed here and everything, but he didn't show up here to the last possible minute. And he's his body language on the ice is just been. It's not like, he doesn't hustle. But it's not like he doesn't put a lot of passion in the game either. And it's just been basically he's been neutral seat seems like the whole time. And now, there's a problem whatever that problem is. We don't know. But I don't think this experience that he would look back on finally, do you think the sabers might like to terminate the contract? I think they would love to terminate the contract. I think that would be an early Christmas present for them to get out from under that, especially the way he's played. And he got three more years years on it. And I think I think they would love to get on out of that contract. So you know, that would be the best thing that could happen to him. So if that's correct then what's happened. So far would not be sufficient toward that. I don't know a lot about process when it comes to this. But you would think insubordination is what you have and. I wonder if there has to be sort of an amount of such for them to have grounds for that. If it is indeed, correct? That they would like to terminate. Well, they don't you see those across the league every now and then where it's a mutual decision to terminate a contract and very offense. It's for a player to go to Europe the play and maybe he would like to go to Sweden play. I I have no idea, but. That would be something that maybe, you know, by mutual agreement terminated his contract and off he goes, so. You know that that would be there. It's not the club's fault. If if a guy doesn't show up from work, I mean from a salary cap standpoint, why should that count against your cap or why should that count against your roster? And he does not count against the roster. Once they suspended them that opened up roster space, which at the time they needed, but. I haven't I haven't gotten anything back from the players association, if they're fighting this or is this something he he just wants and just. I'm done. I'm not showing up again. I would think the sabers would have to be somewhat careful to avoid the appearance that they'd love to terminate the contract, right? Like, that's just my opinion. I know I know, but if it would make sense, and but I what I'm saying is they they would want to not appear like that. Because they to me they can't be too eager to divest themselves of the player. They they may be fine. If he stays away, and they get the break and the roster spot, and he stays suspended. But I think if you are too pushy about getting the relief you I don't know. Like, I don't know that that implies though, that would mean necessarily that that were judgment call by an arbitrator by the league, if it if it means anything what appearances are then that would mean that someone is judging the situation, and you know, legally it shouldn't be necessary. If he doesn't show up, then if they want to fire him they can firearm, and I wonder if cap relief, and those kind of like the small print in the CPA, and this kind of area might be a determining factor. Whether it's Europe, or whatever it is how this is resolved. There are probably different ways that that manifest. With the cap. And if you're the sabers you want to if you will fight for we shouldn't have to right? That's right. Any cap responsibility. Here. I wonder if that's a possible outcome another outcome here to his longer this goes on. And depending on why this has happened. What was the incident that made this happen? He just doesn't go prancing back in that room. Saint hi back. You know, that's not the way that's gonna work either. Because this is turned into a pretty good room. I'm staying there today. And I said to somebody. Just turned to him. And there's this like noise in there is it was the media time in the room. And here are all the players sitting there talking joking having fun with each other. I mean, and I just stood back. And notice how before it was like get me out of here. I don't wanna talk to the media. I don't want to be in this room. Just get me outta here. We'd be standing there by ourselves except for the guys that we would ask for that. We wanted to talk to but almost everybody was in that room. Some of them may be took their shoulder pads off were sitting there, and they were just sitting there enjoying themselves. And you could hardly hear yourself talking there. Because. You know, they were conversing and talking and laughing and just. The room is chain so much, and that's why I say as much as maybe they may have liked him. Or whatever is status was before he left, you don't just leave for and then just be welcomed back and open arms. He's got some explaining to do to his teammates. Right. I felt like before this incident. I know he hasn't been producing he's been scratched. So that would pro could impact. You know, how he's standing on the team. But like wasn't he early in the season, the Swedish godfather, and like bringing Darlene and all these guys together I felt like he was someone who I again from pretty far distance would have credited with improving the scene in the room. And now he does this like, I don't know it did I have the wrong read before he left. At that point. In the beginning of the year yet sat out yet he was playing on a line that wasn't what he would consider the bottom line. He was considering sometimes the second line center, so to speak if you wanna number lines, which they don't, but if you'd like to I mean, you could have considered that's where he started. So he might have been feeling a little bit better about things back then. Then he would now he was the impression. I got was. He's the guy that kept things light. Right. You'd be the guy. They would have the little one liner as he walked by. You know, the robbery one liner, you know, as he's walking by your Saizen. Yup. Yup. Is standing there. That's what the impression I got with him. That's tougher. Now. Right. Just walks up to you. His ears wiggles his fingers right now. Let's tougher now. All right. So the defense corps here, we've got Guli up hun wick has played Tennyson up and back now and guys are getting close. Let's let's run down what they are for this game. Well, they had eleven d here before Tennison went down yesterday. Mccabe was back on the ice. Really chipper. Look good, and he talked you'll hear him on the pre-game. He's spending some pretty intense practices with Dennis Miller, probably six to eight of them. And he says Dennis puts the equipment auntie hits him and he battles with him in the corner. And that's the thing. That's kind of the new thing. They've done the past two three years. They get players ready for practice instead of practice being the first time they come back and they got to wear red jersey for five days. He gets players ready for practice. He's doing that with Wilson. Now and McCain said he feels really good and he said with two more practices coming up. He's ready. He goes, I don't make out. Lineup card, but he said when Phil's ready to put me in. I'm ready and Phil Housley set himself that McCabe pilot or both very good possibilities for the weekend. Depending on how they get through these two days of practice. But it's looking good for both of them to maybe be backed by Friday. Okay. And. It's all the questions. I have what do you think will happen? You mentioned the numbers, and they're still ten guys here. Then with still the injuries Nelson is still longer term. You think pilot goes back Paul I think so I don't think pilot has done the has made Jason botch will sit in a meeting and go I I can't say he's been phenomenal. You know, he's been very good. If you had to keep going with them, you'll be fine. It's not like he's been awful by any means. But he hasn't been the. Wow. He's really so good. We can't afford to let them go. We're going to have to waive somebody else to keep him year or trade somebody else to keep him here. Because don't forget when everybody's healthy. They got AT right without him. And then you'd be keeping nine so you'd have to do something with one of the eight the in that case. So I think if everybody ever gets healthy, which may not happen in an NHL season. Because especially since they didn't have a lot of injuries to start with. I think he would go back, but he may wind up staying just because maybe they'll get totally healthy the hallway, Paul one more thing. I want to ask him it's going back to Saturday night. But I'm reminded of it because I heard Phil Housley on with Howard. And jeremy. This morning, and he repeated what I what I read after Saturday's game when he was asked about not using Skinner in the overtime was a full five minute overtime against Washington. The end up losing the game to shoot out and Skinner never saw shift. And he said it was my personal choice. Okay. You're the coach goes without saying. But like, what did you see anything during the game the third period? Whatever that would have led to the coach feeling like Jeff Skinner who's got how many overtime goals you have this year. I know he's got three but two of them have been four on three power plays. Okay. So he has won three on three goal. Okay. Did you see anything in the game? That would have led you to be able to explain why Housley would have been not feeling like Skinner should be on the ice in overtime. I did not I saw Skinner get on one of the play the opponents, and which he tends to do now. And then he isn't doing anywhere near as much as he didn't Carolina. I don't know if that led to a discussion with the head coach that maybe got heated or something like that. That's the only thing I could figure out that maybe something got heated along the way, they decided that you know. Hey, that's that's not going to go here. Maybe he didn't like the way he was playing that game. And decided he did that with middle stat to one or three on three overtime. He didn't put him out there and said afterwards he did elaborate that night and said look at I just didn't think Casey was going very well that night, and I didn't want wanna put them out in that situation. It could have been that is so yeah, there could have been a number of factors involved in it. But something's in his. Because he just doesn't want elaborate about it at all it almost would have to be something like that. Disciplinary type otherwise there wouldn't maybe be a defense for it. With the season. He's having especially because you played the whole thing. Okay. Thank you, Paul. Thank you guys. Take care. More from Paul during our pregame show coming up in the six o'clock hour his appearance with us. Now brought.

"Senator Housley if you're elected, what would you do to work across party lines to reunite the country? Well, first of all I want to say that I think that Smith is part of the problem because she has when when the president nominated judge Cavanaugh to be his his choice for this next supreme court Justice before he had even said who it was she had had a protest rally outside the capitol. And that's what we want to get rid of. That was that's extremism and people are tired of instruction, obstruction, obstruction and extremism. And and that's not that's not how you you. Nominate a supreme court judge or Justice is to have a protest rally outside before he's even named. She hadn't met him Shannon, seems resume listen to any of the hearings. That's what people are frustrated with. And that's where I saw the change in the campaign where people got really disgusted with the with the partisanship. And I do have a record in the Minnesota Senate, which you don't hear. A lot about in that there's the far right? And there's the far left, and there's a group of us in the middle called the sensible, and we keep our head down. And we work hard. When I when I ran my first time I lost by one percent and Iran again, the second time, and I one by one percent, and I worked really hard across the aisle, bipartisan Lee, and I worked for everybody in my district. Not just the Republicans that voted for me. But also, the Democrats and the independents and when I ran again in two thousand sixteen for reelection this time I won by twenty five percent. So I know I will bring exactly what I did. In the Minnesota Senate to the United States Senate and stop the extremism..

"Karna Housley has been on this show. I believe three times. She seems like a very decent person. I I will fully made. I've been very surprised that she has struggled in my view. And it is part of this is an opinion show to answer direct questions. And. Wants to embrace the president. And I very defendable position as Republican the president's popularity within the Republican party is over ninety percent. I mean, it is jumped fifteen some points since he won and the president in this state one what seventy nine of the eighty seven counties, but specifically on questions. Karn? Housley has has avoided them or has not directly answer them. I think this is a winnable race. By the way. I don't think Tina Smith is an invincible at all. I think a lot of Republicans would have success with Tina Smith to borrow the president's words as a member of the swamp, Minneapolis, only, and what about out state the polling so far shows Tina Smith I had by a sizable margin and many of the poles again much like the Jeff Johnson Tim walls race. I don't think this is going to be a sizable race. I think at this point. Smith would be the favourite just looking at the polling numbers, but it's far from decided in ain't time your twenty two days away from race which. I don't know Adam I kind of feel like it's like a sleepy senatorial race like the Clovis race is irrelevant. Right. It's it's over apparently the top race in the state by far is the governor's race. And then to me it's the congressional races next then the Ellison wardlow race. And I just don't think the Housley Smith races has garnered as much interest. You with me on that? Or am. I you see that differently. No. Certainly backseat all the ones you mentioned so Huffington Post discovers this, and let's, you know, in my opinion, again, huffing polls leans significantly left. It does in their opinion in what stories they cite? Yes. It is no doubt leftist center. And if you don't think that I think you're bias is showing through. So they found this from two thousand and nine. When Carin Housley was a state Senator. And this is when the Obamas met Queen Elizabeth and part of what car now's Lee said Michelle is so far from cool. Don't we expect our first lady's to lease stand up straight parenthetically, am I dear sister? No, the proper etiquette and do not touch green house. He wrote on her Facebook wall in the comment threat on posts. Housley brought up the chimpanzee from bedtime for Bonzo. Ronald Reagan movies long long time ago. I do miss Nancy Reagan. Ronald even more speaking of bedtime for Bonzo. I think even that chimps stood up straighter than Michelle. In housing. Oh, someone is going to make a comment. Yeah. I'm gonna make it right now car. You are completely allowed to criticize political figures. Whether you're somebody listening to this show right now, whether you're Senator governor silly radio talk show host, but I'm sorry. When you're comparing an African American chew a chimp who happens to be the first lady of this country. There is racism all over that statement. I don't know enough about car and Housley to say there is any pattern what so ever of a racist past. So I'm not talking in the broadest way or convinced about what she is done or what other actions, but you make you know, what my comments were out there publicly about the Obamas and apes or chimpanzees which were just flat out racist and deplorable and disgusting. And filth again. You wanna criticize the Obamas in particular the president, by the way. I wonder how current Housley would feel today about criticism of Malania Trump and if she didn't follow the proper protocol because not everybody knows the protocol perfectly. As example, when the president walk well ahead of the Queen this year. Did we spent a lot of time on an initial? No, we spend zero. But now since we're gonna we're going to bring up the comments, I guess, we could occur teak that when the president was well ahead of the Queen because oh, no you can't walk of the Queen. And if you remember Michelle Obama in a friendly manner touch the Queen. But instead of you know. Disagree with the president on ObamaCare size of government. And what was going on with the stimulus or you name? It you compare the first lady to which pans e. And then you're surprised by the reaction. Give me a break. It is an insulting comment clear cut. So we reached out to the house Lee camping Lindsey did quickly. From Jake Schmidt. She's not available. Here is my statement. It's not surprising. Tina Smith campaign is using an audit context. Facebook post from ten years ago to manufacture outreach. This is what the radical left does when they're losing they attack Republicans. So they don't have to come up with solutions to problems. Minnesota facing. Imagine the media spent the same amount of energy investigating Keith Ellison. These do is if you dig into the candidates all Facebook posts and satirical columns from decades ago this show in particular has called Keith Ellison. Endlessly, I'll do it again here. Keith Ellison has not answered enough questions. He has not been direct in answering difficult specific questions. There are massive questions still to be answered from the attorney general candidate. And I don't fault a soul for wondering. Whether they're going to vote or not vote for him because they have questions about what took place. This idea that the Smith campaign when shocked off the Smith campaigns behind this by the way that they're trailing. I must admit Adams Ernie poll right now that shows KARN Housley with elite of I missed any of those polls. And again, I said earlier in the segment, I believe the racist closer. But I'm sorry when you are a public figure running for Senate. You're now allowed to have part of your pass looked at and a party your past is comparing the first lady an African American to chimpanzee how many times a flat out racist use that sort of comparison. So when someone who may not be a racist at all in KARN Housley juices that. And people are surprised that people are upset about it. And it's just a dock at this point, please. Now, remind me again, Adam. In two thousand and nine. Was she a state Senator at that point? Can we check on that? You check also. I'm just kinda curious. The the comment is worth in my view, a conversation, and as opposed to owning up to it. And saying it's something that I never should have done to just be blaming others. I'm not surprised from what you're seeing Lindsey that point. She was not she had not run yet. Her first run for public office was in two thousand ten when she was defeated by Katie Sieben. Okay. And then did she win in twelve thousand twelve okay? It's pretty clear. Go ahead and criticize individuals, you can criticize people when they're white and criticize people in the Catholic criticize when they're Muslim. You can criticize when they're African American Jewish you name it. But when you're playing off long held stereotypes of racist. And you may not be one yourself. Don't be surprise. When it gets a reaction. I wanna see what Adam and Lindsey up to say. And I want you to jump in six five one nine eight nine.

"Delaware approached the the owner and said before you develop would you mind if we did some digging in his area and they do it very scientifically they're they're very good about it and they found the remnants of what they thought was the home of the injuries that was fine and over the course of about four summers when they dig because that's the the digging season they then discovered that there were some unmarked graves on the snake and when that happens it triggers a state law that we have and and so we we have a more formal world from the division and we worked with them and determined that these graves were unmarked they run identified they dated we thought too late sixteen hundreds and we reached out to another partner at with the smithsonian and the smithsonian dr doug housley is involved in a study where he is trying to collect data about the people who populated the chesapeake region being from the delaware to chesapeake the whole delmarva peninsula and for the purposes of collecting dna it's a fascinating study he he wants to collect dna samples from every known burial from this time period and he can begin then to develop what the relationships are between the people he was very excited about it we ended up with a total of eleven burials eight were in one section three were in another section and the eight that were in one section all had and what was found led us to believe they were europeans the room christian burials way there were and the the burials themselves there were pins that were evident that would have kind of prepared the shroud around the body the other three were separate and there were two adults and one child and and it was there was a high suspicion on the site when this was occurring and then when doug housley from this came in his sight they were able to verify and and then verified back in the lab that these remains were of african descent were african americans and it really became a very exciting find what would these eleven burials these are some of the some of the oldest burials that we know they can tell us so much more about our history here in delaware and especially where where african american history tends to stop at a certain period right the.
