"Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer down base after a meeting with the president of from the White House garden there as you saw thing that's contentious meeting, and they didn't seem to hold out too much hope that nothing was going to change it very quickly. At least they are into the president and the rest of the congressional leadership to remain open that nothing could could improve without the government reopening. All right. Let's go back to Atlanta. We have Mike Mckee there who is interviewing the Cleveland. The Federal Reserve presidents, Loretta master, data view in progress. Goes down the rate of inflation is lower at the end of this year. So I guess the question would be what are you afraid of? View of inflation is that we're basically at our goal right now. And we're going to see a kick picked up or down and ten that one bother me either way. I think our our sites have to be on the door mandate goals that we have both maximum fine and inflation and right now, I think we're in pretty good spot. Well to those calls, and now it's really calibrating our policy to that to that picture the economy. But again, I don't see anything. That's really compelling that Fleischer's gonna take off too much. Where do I see that inflation is going to go down too much? I think been placed on both inflation sign, and obviously it's great to have labor markets be strong and people being going to work and wages going on. Well, does that suggest maybe you are at neutral now? And as the markets are pricing, you're not going to raise rates anymore. The economy is going to tell us when we're at neutral were in the range of neutral. Now, you look at the range of most estimates on neutral in the fed projections go from two and a half to three and a half percent in terms of the range. And we're about their economy is going to tell us, right? We're going to be looking at the data processing conditions. It's pointing to tell us whether we're about right or whether we still have a little more to do or not. And I think that's the way I'm gonna be approaching policy going forward is let's look at the data. What's conditions, and let's do our forecasts. And then think about what's the right policy path in order to hit our goals, maintain them maintain talk about the non statistical indicators of how the economy is doing when you talk to CEO's in the Cleveland fed district. What are they saying about their ability to raise prices and be uncertainty that may be keeping them from investing at this point? Because while consumer spending has been strong business investment hasn't really reacted to the tax. So our district has a little more exposure to export sector a little more exposure to the sector. Most of the firms we've talked to have expressed concerns about trade policy as well as the uncertainty around policy. However, most of them most someone said it hasn't affected their investment plans for their hiring there. There are two firms that have told us that they're taking a little bit of a wait-and-see attitude to see until the uncertainty dissipates a bit but most firms Mesa they said we're concerned about it. We're watching carefully, but we're not changing our plan investment strategy or streets strategy a lot of the I told us that really their concern as they can't find the workers of warp is available. They need to actually felt orders and fulfill. Some of the strengths are seeing out on the demand side in terms of price increases, it it varies across som- have told us that they have been able to put in some price increases some have been able to pass on some of the terrorists to their customers. Others have said that they're taking a cautious attitude on that. Haven't really push through yet. So again or indicators in terms of our survey measures that price pressures have risen by it's it's mixed across the type of the balance sheet. There were questions raised in the last couple of days in particular about whether you would adjust the balance sheet run off because of what was happening in financial markets. But I want to set that aside as ask what your assessment of the impact of the balance sheet runoff is on the quitting and on credit crise has the fed influence that because a lot of people on trading desks say they're having more trouble because of the ballot. She did they misread it. Or is is there a connect the analysis? I've seen suggests that it's really not the Fed's balance sheet runoff that's affecting liquidating conditions in the market. And obviously if that were the case in our assessment changes, we would reconsider the right now that doesn't appear to be the case that doesn't mean, however, and I know that some of the markets that we don't we? Disregard the balancing changes in our balance sheet when we're setting policy. No, it's part of the economic environment. And so our act of monetary policy is as we said are fed funds rate our policy rate interest rate, and we have the balance sheet running on that it will influence right economic conditions. And therefore we're going to take that into account, but we're going to use our policy tool our interest rate, the main. Lever of policy and less economy changes things deteriorate and we'd have to go back and look at that again. But right now, I don't see any indication that we need to reconsider that policy. That's Kevin Powell today pushback strongly against the idea of political influence on the fed from the White House. But I'm wondering, I if I asked you you'd say, there's no we just do our jobs. We don't pay any attention to politics. But what about the people of Cleveland, and the people in your district is people call up to you and say, you know, the president is warning me about you guys, or what are you doing raising interest rates? You're going to slow down the economy threatened, my job, you hear that from the public to the White House is words resident so I make it a point of making sure that I go out to various constituencies in the district, and I want to engage with with them. They are incredibly polite. They do want to know what are you doing with policy? What is your the economy? What is your view of talking of markets, and we engage in a very productive dialogue. It's narrow in the context of someone told me this defend yourself. It really is let's get together and try to understand the rationale for your policy decisions. And so they can understand where they're going. So I find it a very productive interchange. Go out and talk to people in the district last question government, shutdown big deal in Washington. Big deal on the cable, news networks big deal in Cleveland. I mean, I think it's a big deal on a sensitive adds to this uncertainty about policy and policy making. So in that sense. I think it is something that we have to think about when we're actually thinking about where businesses are going. What policy plans investment plans are making in terms of the actual day to day impact on particular businesses. No. But for the people who aren't getting a paycheck and have to think about that. I think it is a big deal. And I think it's something that we should try to be on. If we does it have any impact on the macro economy and monetary policy at a macro level. But I think you know. Is made up a micro decisions. And so do extend that there are people out there. This influences what they're of institutions are policy sending process, I think it is something that we need to. Thank you very much for joining us. President of that Reserve Bank of Cleveland will send it back to you. Okay. That again,.

"I mean, there is a certain level always of feeling like you have to prove yourself, and then you get to a point where you know right now I feel like because because this brand is has been around for nine years, these these nine years have been a constant process of letting go of everything that's not offensive to who I am, and that's not easy. And I do feel like I'm now at a place where I can walk into a room with any man in this in this industry, and I can have any wholesale meeting, and I feel confident in what I'm saying because it's the truth and nobody can question your inner truth. It's really about sticking to who you are. I'm shaking my head and absolute agreement with you. And I also think the way you've described it there is this progress. Russian, and I think it happens for all of us at some point. You start something earlier in life. And of course there's going to be the uncertainty and you're going to have the various people factions telling you what to do and early on. It's hard not to listen to that to some extent, and sometimes you're going to do things along the way that you're sort of half in half out. Yes. And then there comes a point where you know you have the vision, you really strongly believe in it. You know, it's resonating with people. Where was that turning point for you? Well, building a business, something I had to learn. I am a creative at heart. It needs to mean something to me. So I decided to pull everything back like like a decision to take all of my apparel out of wholesale because I just wanted to speak directly to my customer, and that was a decision that I would. I was advised for a long time not to do. But it got to a place where I just it just felt it was. It was pulling at me and it was just something that I wanted to do, and I wanted to speak directly to the girl and you know, designing storytelling, and it was really hard for me to ask somebody else to tell my story and to speak to the girl who I felt so badly that I knew before we go. I wanted to share this last clip from architectural digest editor in chief, Amy, Ashley, and I like it because it comes from the beginning of Amy's career how she got hired by Anna Wintour and found her way in the magazine media industry with no connections. Because while most of us including me have never met Anna winter, I think we can all relate to those early days or any point in any new endeavor where we just don't know anyone and we don't have any connections. I started housing garden straight out of college. It was five years. It was great training. I love the shelter category. The magazine was closed in nineteen Ninety-three when Mr. Newhouse owns the company bought architectural digest. So that is ironic, I was twenty five, twenty six years old. He closed housing garden to focus in on a d. which was then based in LA. And you know, I didn't have a job somebody on the team, very senior recommended Ana wind or the same day that the company closed house and garden. And I was called by HR to come and meet with her that day. And I remember sort of like, oh, can I come tomorrow and get my particular? No. Right now. I was wearing a little on your speed t-shirt, blacks cigarette pants, and I had a brand new pair of Chanel ballet slippers on which cost a week salary. And this is a long time ago, and I remember the day they close the magazine. I was looking at this now. Bali slivers knows like, oh my God never should have bought these now have no job and it's like my rant for the month. Can I put him back in the box. You know the carpet carpeted here, but I ended up go to see on a right then you know. And I think she noticed the slippers. They were good. They were goodbye, I guess. So you know, and she gave me a copy test and I met her. It was it was a surreal day to have the magazine closed and to go in and meet her the same day, you know..

"Bought architectural digest. So that is ironic, I was twenty five, twenty six years old. He closed housing garden to focus in on a d. which was then based in l. a. and you know, I didn't have a job. Somebody. On the team. Very senior recommended me to Anna Wintour the same day that the company closed house and garden, and I was called by HR to come and meet with her that day. And I remember sort of like, ooh, can I come tomorrow and get my out for to get not going to say right now I was wearing a little on, yes, BT shirt, blacks cigarette pan. And I had a brand new pair of Chanel ballet slippers on which cost a week's salary. And this is a long time ago and I remember the day they closed the magazine. I was looking at this now. Ballet slippers knows like, oh, my God never should have bought these now have no job and it's like my rant for the mind. Can I put him back in the box back, you know, the carpet carpeted here. It was it was a surreal day to have the magazine closed and to go in and meet her the same day, you know. But I was just young enough that I was still of clueless, you know, and really my plan was an end. The person who recommended me with someone senior on the house and garden staff who I had always sort of tried to assist this man because he had no assistant, and I thought he was SU. He was so talented, his name is Charles Gandhi and people in the design industry. Now him and I sort of idolized him and I would like, you know, we had Xerox machines at the times we had to stand in line. So I've take his papers, Xerox them for him. I wasn't his official assistant, but I liked him and I used to just help him out. And I, he thought I was a kid, no, with a good attitude in some talent, and he recommended made Anna Wintour. So that's why say to people don't manage up like he wasn't my boss. It didn't have to help him. I thought he was the bee's knees. I thought he was super cool. And I was like. Oh, why does Charles have to stand in line at the Xerox with the likes of me, you know? And you know, it just helped him do stuff for him and he appreciated it. And he really did me a huge kindness when I had no job. And Anna obviously said to him, is there anyone young at house and garden, or I might like news like, yeah, you might like Amy and I was I was Wendy's assistant, and you know, Wendy was very much from a fashion, family sister tawny Goodman's worked at vogue for a long time. So it was, you know, the connections were building without me necessarily being born into having any connections. So I ended up going to vogue the same day basically that house and garden closed was the meeting with adult like quick. She's very quick. She's amazing. I don't manage in the same way that she does, but I've learned a lot from her. I think she's decisive and she's quick juryman much. I like to talk to people's. Yes, she, I don't remember she was wearing. Do you remember what she asked? You. Barely barely. I remember her handing me I, you know, Anna's very intuitive about people. To be honest. I think she got right away, but look Charles had vouched for me. Wendy Goodman. I have my little Chanel shoes on. I think she got that. I'm very visual and that I'm a storyteller right away because she handed me the copy test, and it was a picture of Shalom..
