"Let me start off by saying if you have an equestrian problem, it qualifies as a first world problem. That is the world. We are living in right now. So on Sunday nights, Monday morning Glen, where I put up a post on the horse radio network auditor's Facebook page, asking you to share and release what your first world problem is to all of us who understand what they are. And it's mainly for auditors. So Glenn, if people want to be involved in the whole first we'll problem thing, what do they do? Just go to horse radio network dot com, click on the outer banner and the upper right hand corner of the page. It's more of a segment. It's the segment. Let's start with Katie, Katie says. You still have some of your radio days left. I do. I don't want to do bits. This is a segment. We do this weekly. Katie says, I have my riding horse, a clydesdale named Mark, which is I love that. Except for I had an ex-boyfriend named Mark. I'd have to change it to Marcus. And training right now. And it's going to be in the 50s and 60s this week. And I am so pouty that means I'm going to have to drive 45 minutes one way to ride him. Which I will. Of course you will. I'm sorry, my dream or a horse is in with the trainer. I used to drive 40, I used to drive an hour when I lived in Atlanta to go to my horse to see him and I would go 5 times a week. Hour one way without Trump. You can go two miles in Atlanta and takes an hour. That's true. That's true. That's perfectly timed. Christina says, I finally decided to get a big girl job with benefits that starts next week. But the weather is supposed to be so nice that I'll be looking at my office window and wondering, is it too early to give my two weeks notice? Welcome to the next 30 years of your life..

"There's not enough good things to say about it. I think that it's just unreal to jump behind that with the hotel behind it. I mean, it's like a postcard. It is. And it really is, actually. When you're sitting there watching you jump too, it's like, yeah. So there's a couple of announcements this week from the world, a question center since we had, we had Vinny, who is the big boss over there. We had him on last week, but he was hinting at something, and then it came out the next day that they're building a second world equestrian center hotel. This is going to be a 400 larger suite like a room hotel for the people who come in and stay for the season, basically. And they includes an 80,000 ft² restaurant complex. Now, keep in mind everybody that they already have 7 restaurants in the property. So I don't know what they're going to put in 80,000 ft² restaurant complex, but apparently the food's even going to get better. Well, the food at the yellow pony is like my favorite spot. I haven't been there yet. It's one restaurant we haven't been to. The pretzel. Okay, so they have this soft pretzel and I swear to God. You would think, okay, the pretzel. No, it's delicious, and it's the size of two of my heads. All right, we got to have a soft pretzel together. That's sold. We're going to do that. So do you know where the hotel's going, by the way? Okay, no. But there's two spots that it could go because there's construction happening everywhere. But we were contemplating there's a spot up right up front that's kind of leveling and my husband was like, oh, well there's a lot of water lines and plumbing going in and those look like this where restrooms are going to be and stuff like that. So I honestly think that it's going to be like you know when you drive in the main entrance, there's a big spot to the left..

"And then he'll have he'll hack on Saturday and if it's been a really hot week or he's jumped really hard and we've done a couple of the jump offs, he'll have Sunday off as well. So he might have Sunday and Monday off or a lunge, I try to be light on the days he's not showing, and then the weeks that they have off, he does fitness work. So if he's not jumping because I don't really jump those weeks, he does, I actually treat him like an event horse because he roars a little bit. So I want to make his lungs super strong. And he'll do trot sets he'll do ten minutes, three, ten minute trot sets. One time during the week, usually at the beginning, and then towards the end he'll do Cantor sets and he does anywhere from three, four minute counter sets to three, 5s depending on how I think he's feeling. And so nothing not super long, like not like a horse that's getting ready to go upper level eventing, but enough that he has to carry his wind. And it gets his heart rate up. And so that when I do have to do an immediate jump off right after that he kind of can catch his breath fairly quickly. And be back on it and not run out of puff. So how about you? I mean, you were died in true inventor, and now you're kind of becoming a show jumper. How's that transition been for you? Well, personally, I absolutely love it. I thought maybe I would miss the cross country, and every now and then I do, but I can always go across country schooling if I really absolutely want to. And my horse is all of my horses have jumped cross country jumps. So they cross train a little bit. And okay, I don't take them out all the time, but they've jumped to table. I have a picture of Doki jumping a training level table and over a ditch doing a coffin and stuff like that. But I really don't, I find the technicality of show jumping and I mean the fact that they know they know every footfall. Some writers count up to 12 steps because that's the difference between winning money and being completely out of the ribbons. And just the accuracy and jumping that big. It's a sensational feeling. It's unlike anything I ever felt. And I competed up through intermediate level eventing. And it's just, I think, amazing. I think that the horses are really happy, they don't have to dress up. I'm really happy because I don't miss the dressage. I do appreciate flat work. So don't get me wrong. But maybe doing 20 meter circles in a 20 by 40 is not my most ideal thing. I don't think I don't think you have to qualify that on this show. Yeah, recent Philip, much you want. I've had such lessons with Reese and I loved my dressage lessons with her. So she's amazing. And I think that the sport is great. But for me, I love show jumping..

"And but it's all relative because I walk the one 25s, and eyeballing some doing some one 30s with him. And the jumps look massive when I walk with the respect of Kensington's coming and jumping in this class. And I think it's kind of Kensington. He's a Dutch. She's KW PN. He's very much smaller. He's 16 three. He's tiny. And he's just a goofball, but I've had him since he was four. So I've had him for a little bit longer, and I've done everything on him from his first horse show up until now. And so it's a little bit like the baby being released into the big kid world when we start jumping bigger. And so I'm a little protective. And which actually is silly because Doki was the same exact way. I took him to his first couple shows when he got over here as a 6 year old. He hadn't shown before. And I've done everything on him. So but he just gives you that air of cockiness, arrogance, a little bit. He knows his job, even though he doesn't. Which is just a great feeling. And they both Doki loves to horse show. The weeks that we don't wear show, he protests and is like, if you're not hacking me out or taking me to the horse show, I don't want it. So how often do you show? So let's say Doki. During the season, how often will he show in a week? In a week, we will do three classes. So we usually show Wednesday, Thursday, and then either Friday or Saturday depending on what class I'm doing. They might be a week where he only shows twice, it's just kind of also how he's feeling if he's feeling a little tired, but maybe I need to do a warmup class. Which Doki thinks is beneath him. He doesn't need a warmup class. But I do. So French. And so and Kensington does the same. So anywhere between two and three classes a week. And we usually what we've been doing is two weeks on one week off. Or I'll do two weeks off a week on a week off and then two weeks on. We just kind of, however, the schedule goes, I try to make sure I'm doing the night classes, which are weeks, three, 7, and 11. So then I kind of base it around those. And there's 12 weeks at wack. So how much work do they get? Obviously, you've shown pretty much on the weekends. So do they get some time off beginning of the week? And then you start bringing them back again or do you ride them every day or how does that work? So I usually, okay, typically in the jumper world, which I love this is Mondays are off days. Unless you didn't get to a horse during the week. So usually they have Mondays off. I will ride them on Tuesday or for Doki because if he's not worth showing, he doesn't want it. I will lunge him. In the, there's these European rains that kind of go over the withers through the front legs and hook to the bit. And he loves it. And so a lunge him for 20 minutes. And then he horse shows Wednesday Thursday, Friday..

"Oh, we get him in. That trailer is too small. So all your training going out the window, didn't you? Mind you wrangled the gold loaded up in my trailer just fine to get here. He was hesitant and then he walked in. So but yours is the perfect height. Mine is the appropriate height. Yes. And mine is a four horse that I've converted in two box dolls because I have so many rescues that come and they have a little touch of putting them in partitions. So two box dolls. He loaded in that fine. So they come out to get them. And they're like, it's okay. And the person adopting the horse, her daughter is a trainer, horse trainer. The guy who is the cowboy that's 12 years old is also a trainer. And then there's me. Well, they can't get them in the trailer. Duh. And so I have a place I'm like, it's a step up, two horse bumper pull that's like for quarter horses. So I'm like, I guess you can back it up to my arena, because my read is taller, and that's where I practice a lot of the trailer loading stuff. So back it up there. And I'm like, you know what? I do this for a living. Let me help you. I do it for a living, too. Yeah, I did too. I go great between the three of us, we should be able to figure this out. Well, the horse puts his front feet in, but he can't fit. And so I'm like, maybe if you take the middle partition and take the mark middle partition out, he can still be like, I don't come out. I said, yes, yes, well, you can undo it right here, and I pulled the thing out, pull the bar and slide the thing over and he was like, oh, I didn't know I did that. What? He's a horse trainer. So I try with the duly halter a couple times, and I'm like, you know, how you do this on a regular basis. So mind you, at two and a half hours, now we're at another hour, and I'm trying to help them. And finally, I'm like, all right, this trailer's too small for this horse and he's not going to go in it. We can get him in. A great. I'm going to go put out round bells 'cause I have work to do. So I hand them the lead rope and I go out in the pasture with.

"Pretty big prize, by the way. I mean, even as a little two of her trail was 15 grand now. You will literally spend your entire weekend doing things. You don't walk enough. I mean, I'm not going to bag it 'cause that sounds awesome. And I really love it. But you know every teenager between the age of 12 and 16 is going to be doing this, right? Yeah. It won't be parents doing it. It would be the teenagers running. And the parents will be so happy because they'll come home really tired of the hotel that night. So yeah, that's, you know, for dressage day, she might be able to get them done because who watches that anyway. Scavenger hunt is I've got to see that so it's in the app called the goose chase app and I don't I've never heard of it. So goose chase app. I don't know. We'll have to wait. I love stuff like that. I love geocaching. I love scavenger hunts. I love mystery things that I have to figure out myself, but seriously a hundred. Okay, so goose. Have bloody marys by like three. You'd have to start a week. It's called goose chase adventures. The best app for running your own scavenger hunt. Wow. Well, I want to look pretty cool. I'm going to do a scavenger hunt. You can do a scavenger hunt at your farm. The next part you have. Yeah, that.

And <Speech_Female> I'm going to <Speech_Female> the grocery store probably <Speech_Female> on Monday to start <Speech_Female> maybe practicing <Speech_Female> making some ties and <Speech_Female> stuff like that because, <Speech_Female> you know, you got to <Speech_Female> start early, <Speech_Female> maybe practice a <Speech_Female> couple of these recipes. <Speech_Female> So that you don't <Speech_Female> choke on <SpeakerChange> Wednesday or <Speech_Telephony_Female> Thursday, right? <Speech_Female> Right, <Speech_Female> right. <Speech_Female> So <Speech_Female> what <Speech_Female> you write such <Speech_Female> a variety <Speech_Female> with your <Speech_Female> two blogs, <Speech_Female> horses and heels <Speech_Female> and stable style. <Speech_Female> But <Speech_Female> what is your <Speech_Female> favorite type of <Speech_Female> thing to write about is that <Speech_Female> the <Speech_Female> barns is that they <Speech_Female> equestrian fashion, <Speech_Female> tacking <Speech_Female> gear, like <Speech_Female> living the lifestyle, <Speech_Female> home <Speech_Female> decor, <Speech_Female> something else. But <Speech_Female> each time I write <Speech_Female> one of these articles, <Speech_Telephony_Female> I get really excited, <Speech_Female> you know? And I think <Speech_Female> with the barn tours, <Speech_Female> you learn something <Speech_Female> about someone's space <Speech_Female> or you get <Speech_Female> new inspiration, <Speech_Female> and then <Speech_Female> same with, you <Speech_Female> know, even looking for <Speech_Female> the holiday stuff <Speech_Female> and the entertaining. I <Speech_Female> think that's really fun. <Silence> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Just looking for things <Speech_Telephony_Female> that have, <Speech_Female> you know, horse <Speech_Female> bits, or horse heads, <Speech_Female> you know, just like <Speech_Female> subtle <Speech_Female> embellishments. I'm <Speech_Female> always just kind <SpeakerChange> of looking <Speech_Female> for that. <Speech_Female> Well, where else <Speech_Female> can people follow <Speech_Female> you and <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> keep up <Speech_Female> with your <Speech_Female> content? <Speech_Female> So you can find <Speech_Female> me on both blogs, <Speech_Female> <Speech_Telephony_Female> stable style .NET <Speech_Female> or <Speech_Female> horses and heels <Speech_Telephony_Female> dot com and <Speech_Female> then on <Speech_Female> either Instagram <Speech_Telephony_Female> at stable <Speech_Female> style <Speech_Female> or at <Speech_Female> horses and heels <Speech_Female> and it's <SpeakerChange> horses <Speech_Female> and heels with an <Silence> underscore. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Oh, yeah. <Speech_Female> I mean, I'm also on <Speech_Female> interest <Speech_Female> Facebook. <Speech_Female> A little <Speech_Female> bit of tweeting, occasionally, <Speech_Female> you know, <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> but mostly Instagram <Speech_Female> and Facebook, <Speech_Female> those <Silence> are my biggest <SpeakerChange> platforms <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> great. "And I loved all the things you found and I could probably spend all my money if I were to just follow your advice. What tips do you have for our listeners on how to have a horsey holiday? Yeah, well first of all, I love to that article. That was really fun. And I know what you mean about, you know, just spending all your money on accessories. So, you know, there are a few different ways you can do it. I think that you can go out and over time you can splurge on a couple pieces each year. You know, there are brands that I really like such as Arthur court, which they have really nice timeless pieces and I've kind of one of the things that I do is I kind of add a new piece to my collection every year. And that's fun to do. Other ways to incorporate in equestrian theme to your table and this is something that was included in the article, you know, you can do napkin rings. You can do a question themed plates. You can do serving boards and stuff like that. Or if you want a fun DIY approach, I love the idea of doing a really nice center piece with adding old stirrup iron to the table. Old horse that's just kind of decorating down the center with things that you have that you don't necessarily have to splurge on. So I think there's a lot of different ways to add a bit of equestrian to your tablescape or to your holidays. This is some good tips. And I do, I like that idea of adding a piece each year. I think mine might be the stirrup tray. So we'll put a link to the article obviously in our show notes so that people can see what we're talking about because it's kind of hard to picture, but there was this really neat serving tray and I had stirrups as like the handles that Raquel found. But speaking of the holidays, and we're coming out a few days before Thanksgiving, do you have any favorite horsey holiday memories or how do you.

But I think maybe you're going to have a link in there if people want to get a list. So I'm not spamming it all. Well, you know, I have a presence on Twitter, but I am not feeling it, but not everywhere, but I'm trying to be in the places where my fellow horse lovers hang out. And so far, I found this on the website and Facebook and Instagram. And your podcast. Well, thank you so much for joining us today. "Just a thing that comes to mind off the top of my head and it's not much of a story. But I just remember those days of having the real Christmas tree and then what do you do? When you're done with the Christmas tree, you take it to the barn. And so riding around and you know the freezing cold indoor arenas of the Chicago area and having our jumps kind of festooned with everyone who also brought their real Christmas trees to kind of have a Second Life there. That and then the other thing I would say is how much my previous horse and my now horse love the peppermints. And so I like candy canes in that, but, you know, having those whether using decorations on your own tree or people giving them to use gifts or whatever. You know, I can't consume them all. So it's, you know, a nice happy occasion to be able to treat my horse with that and then upside his breath smells magically delicious. That was always one of my holiday tips. I would always anytime going out to eat, grab an extra peppermint or two for the horse 'cause that was my horse's favorite treat. So I totally get that. So what about some other blogging adventures or things that have come about from the blog would you want to share with us? Well, so for people who are unfamiliar with my blog, I love to do I just published today a list of recommended winter reads for horse lovers. And now's a good time to hunker down with a book. So I have a number of those. I have some book reviews too. So I'm very, well, as an author myself and equestrian space, I try to stay up on what is current new releases and then just maybe some things that I haven't seen in the past. Speaking of Raquel, she has an amazing coffee table book, stable style, and I have a copy and that is something incredible. And I actually have one of my own books that I think makes a great gift for this time of year. And it's called unbridled creativity. 101 writing exercises for the horse lover. So my knees who also love horses and loves to write, I saw her, she had this book and it was like a book of all these creative writing prompts. And I looked at it and I was like, I can do one of those about horses because, you know, when I was younger, before I had the blog, you know, if I wasn't around horses, I was writing stories about them. And you know, as a having a background in education where I actually taught English and got students, some of them reluctant to try to hone their writing skills. I have kind of a bag of tricks of trying to get people to, you know, have a unique way of describing things or telling a story. So I kind of merged some traditional writing prompt themes with horsey content and made this little book that is part creative writing journal and part just I guess there's a little bit of instructional aspect in it too. So that's perfect.

"And I know everyone's in a different kind of phase of life or even with the pandemic of what's being allowed and where we live and so there's all kinds of ways to have fun. You don't have to go across the Atlantic to do that. One of the rides I really liked that I've done with men about the last year and a half was actually at the time I was living in California and I got to ride Clyde dales on a beautiful ranch and had a view of the Pacific. So I would encourage people to think about like little horsey adventures that are near them because they're kind of everywhere. But Ireland was super, I don't want to go past that. I had percheron, aren't they like riding a great big couch? Interesting. Okay, like many, many years ago I worked at a camp and I wrote a draft horse. Bareback. And I kind of remember it was really comfortable. So I'd never ridden a client deal. I don't think that horse was a client. So long ago, I can't remember. But they were saying that what's nice about them is they're not as broad as some of the other draft breeds and that they could actually for some of them wear like a traditional western saddle that didn't have to be like a double XL or whatever. So yeah, it was really cool and what was funny is I don't think of myself as like a green horse rider and I can't remember I'd have to look at my blog post. They put me on affiliate that was maybe three, and she was just a puppy dog. It was just so gentle, so steady on the trail, and I thought, like, I don't know that I would want to be riding any other type of horse as only a three year old, you know, out on this trail kind of along the ridge, looking down over the water. Well, one of your rides, you rode actually, we're going to you wrote about for us was Griffith Park. And yeah. Yeah, you rode with Raquel Lin. And she's our next guest, actually. So it's interesting. Make that tie in..

"Oh my God. And like, yeah, I didn't always end well. But so that's how I wrote my first book horses adored and men endured and the reason I started the blog was I went to a writer's conference while I was in the process of that manuscript. And they said that if you want to get published in today's environment, you really have to have an online presence. And so I kind of resisted that because I'm actually sort of a private person and this collection of super embarrassing stories about dumb things I've done and just weird situations I've been in. But I'm also very good student. I was a teacher for 22 years. And so if someone tells me these are the steps you have to take in order to achieve a goal. I can do that. So it started saddle seek sores on my birthday in October of 2013 and it started out just kind of as like more of a journal. I didn't have a horse at the time. I had just lost my heart horse, but I had owned for 16 years. And so I was grieving that a little bit, but then also knowing that I wanted to kind of, even though I didn't really have any horse Friends at the time, I had moved recently and was in a different area. I hadn't connected into any local barns or the horse community. So blogging was just like a creative outlet and then a way for me to kind of hone my writing skills, which then led to being able to write for some of the magazines and then eventually years later I did publish my book and now I have three. But it's changed in terms of I feel like it was more of a private journal thing. This is all me and my personality to now I've kind of cultivated these relationships. Many people I've met in real life have actually become friends with. So I'm thinking about it about what's interesting to me and what I'm learning, but also how can I help other people? So I'm not as active telling the nitty Gritty of what I just learned in my most recent writing lesson because that won't necessarily apply to everyone. But the warmest winter products that will make barn time, you know, not dreadful this time of year. Something kind of stuff. I'm happy to show you most of us need. Yeah. Well, you know, I remember the first time I met you in person, was it an American horse publications conference, and I just remember immediately realizing she is such a fabulous storyteller. So I imagine all your books are just easy to read and just. Full of your creativity and your energy. So now, I'm also excited to hear about you're welcome. I've also excited to hear about all your questioning getaways because I haven't gotten to travel most of us haven't gotten to travel in the past two years. But as much as I'd like raising raising a little one and so I am totally jealous of anybody going on all these equestrian getaways and these rides and things like that. And, you know, a lot of our readers like planning those types of trips. I know you recently went to Ireland, right? I did, yes, and I want to back up just for a second because I feel like really anytime we have the opportunity to be with a horse, whether it's riding or not, I mean, that is such a getaway and a gift..

Also, she's written several books and her latest book is unbridled creativity, a 101 writing exercises for the horse lover. She's always great to talk to. We actually interviewed her on one of our Facebook lives for equitana. So she did a great job then talking about the panel that she was on back then, which she was on with the sisters horsing around duo. Emily and Sarah Harris that we interviewed last month. So there is still the gene out there still people still love that baroque style, but people are starting to breathe more from that versatile horse as well. Yeah, they're kind of before 30 years ago you would see them that you would say draft horse. And now you look at them and go, you know, sport horse, you know, they're much, they're more sleek than they used to be. Yes, yes, that is true. And something that is very exciting for us is the world breeding federation has now recognized the frisian horses more of a warm blood. And so they've had allowed them to start competing at their warm blood shows. Gotcha. Okay. What were they considered before that? Because I was, yeah, they were they kind of considered the more of a draft horse. Oh, interesting. I've always kind of pictured them more as a warm blood. I guess that's just from seeing so many doing dressage and lately. So that tool you created sounds really neat. I've never heard of anything like that for a breed organization where you can kind of select the traits and try to figure out who you might want to breathe to. Did y'all develop that or it was developed by the KF PS for the members. It's an excellent excellent tool, like I said you can help you with the unbreaking coefficient and then what our horses are just they get a linear score and judges they look at that linear score and they say, okay, well, I might be deficit in my walk or I might be deficit in my trot. And so you can actually take those tools and say, I specifically want to zone in on my walk. And like I said, it'll spit out a couple of scallions for you that will help increase that..

Three Wins in 4 Years Is a Record
"James Good Morning. Good Morning Steve. Thanks for having me on hope your weekend. Well it did. It did and I thought I saved I wrote I write down as many selections. It's always tough for Breeders Cup because then the paper gets all gets a little a little sloppy and sure enough here. I'm looking now and yeah I do have it. Actually there we go there we go home. You were a Vino guy and and bricks and mortar and and then spun to run so yeah your share of winners Too Key around I thought was on higher power. Though I didn't have you know I got you written down for Dino. I took higher power stirred Flavian Pratt. What's up on them? I'll tell you play the Heidi wrote one favorite Donna Duluth below she. The brewers Juke juvenile given up Phillies runner-up but he had a win. had four seconds and fourth earners. I thought that was a really a great performance by him and You know he has the Kentucky Derby win on his resume junkies like have that really just A good showcase for an upcoming star in our rank agreed and and I tweeted on Sunday. I've discussed this a couple of times this week. His record is stunning. And he's got people would say. Oh He's only got three wins. WHOA WHOA three wins? Thirty eight mounts and this is only his fourth year as fourth year riding his sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen at-bats. Ah But another fourteen in the money finishes and then a handful of fourths and fifths I mean the percentage is frightening. I mean considering considering the level of competition really outstanding and he gives he gives every virtually every horse. If he's got horse to work with he gives them a chance. It's definitely and you know I mean I think Santa Anita and hosted the Breeders Cup eight times previously and and and he was writing a lot of california-based debased horses and one of my takeaways was definitely that this this year's Breeders Cup with completely unlike any out in California before I mean just uh-huh it just. It really started on Friday where the first four winners had all raised it Aqueduct Belmont and by the end of it I'm you know I'm looking at it it it. If you'd looked at the charts that Saturday at at Saratoga you wouldn't be surprised to see our ad or ts in four races Castellano and Rosario win into each and then Jose or ts Manny Frank Ricardo Santana All winner races well and Joe Bravo and that's what happened. They took twelve to fourteen races and and all twelve of those horses that race in New York this year now very strong on that on that front and ah not to say that Just had the conversation with Nick. Lock about the euro's and there were there were solid efforts and solid board hits in addition to Iridescence win but The you know the and there were solid performances from west coast sources to bell. Athena's Bella Fina. At under under certain circumstances dances might have won. The united almost looked like a winner hundred yards from the wire There were there were plenty of of solid performances from every region In some cases. Look at Vino. Vino having been into California. I think counselor a lot. You fold in folding would ask. Did you know getting there early with Matali Actually Navarro to I mean in Navarro got there early with a chance. A Lot A lot of times the a Lotta Times. The juvenile turf sprang can be like locally based sources can do all your top two in that race were both based in California with Peter Miller and you the one hundred and thirty five bucks. That's right that's right. That's right his second his second in the race in three years. I'm just looking at the list to spun to run from Philadelphia. So you get you get a a regional kind of a B.. Track player are sharing sharing holiday for new. New York's thunder run actually ran in a mate. Nice at act backer. And the winner but I mean the parks and mom Sharing base at Far Hills at far hell and Maryland bred. That's a couple of times Toga. Yeah yeah everybody everybody got their Lixin. Actually when you when you kind of go through this And I'll just say I I came away. I mean granted. I thought the four big stars coming into enforces with the serious horsey. Our aspirations Bricks Mourner Corner Sister Charlie and Matola two of the four one I think it really does come down horse a year two bricks and mortar and Matola Louis. But I'm giving the edge bricks mortar. I thought it was fantastic campaign. He had been a mile or previously. Before you know getting hurt and undergoing that surgery and I like the fact that Brad Cox I mean Brown ran him. You know he never ran he. Random and six different courses six different states. You went from Florida to Louisiana to Kentucky Hockey to New York to Illinois and the California To win a mile and a half for the first time in his career so to me. He's a deserving of the year well and and driving home the point about the mile and a half for people that because they always beat all the same types and didn't stretch himself then no he did and and you know the there was even people that were incredulous about him going the mile and a half so you know that that score extra points Without a doubt yeah definitely and you know to me One of the Mike Smith that made the point After a couple Oh. He ran second on a pair of privet favorites midnight zoo in Omaha Beach. And he's made the point that he'd right like those races back because it was hard to 'cause over that track track but to me it was more so that those horses were caned on the rail going into the first turn. Blue Prize was tenth early. You know tolley Holy Arosa could be five or six minutes off the pace. But they're jocks really at. That did a great job keeping them in the clear and I really thought midnight. These to you You know continue just to be in traffic through into the far turn. And when she got out she finished great as a case I mean they the great job on on TV and other highlighting it where I think of a blueprint. It's got the jump on her because of the trip the greed and it and it it also. It should be noted for people that are you know insisting that the track nobody could close well. WHOA that's not true? which is simply me? Just look at the chart for the distaff. What do you mean nobody could close at that? Just you know Omaha. Beach closed closed In in as well came from often and others whitmore made up. I mean it wasn't going to get to the winners and the the exact pair But he closed Idiom really had down below chicken that juvenile fillies and that's when the track was absolutely at its worst deepest pissed most impossible right based on based on the figure and in fact. It's funny because yesterday. Paul Matisse was talking about how difficult Friday was to make figures and then it was echoed by Jerry Brown on His On his experts board board. Somebody brought up. Paul's conversation and Jerry also echoed that the way the track changed from the you know the middle part of the day to by the time even the the juvenile boys ran so typically you would if the juvenile of the males run more than two seconds faster than the phillies. You'll get say their way better than the nose Philly but I do think it was. It was a track getting off faster later. And I. I'm I'm not down on British idiom or Donna Boise at all even though that right they came home. I think they should be still terrific runners. And you know it's it's hard to gauge coming out of the juvenile being real adobe guy Exactly what that means going forward so into court definitely Nice Horse Court Vision You know hasn't isn't had much success at Stud but he's bread You know fire. Classic types with that pedigree of his female family has a lot of stamina influences. It just doesn't have much class. You won't find any stakes winners really in that immediate female family well your final the final takeaways. My final take away so I just you know I you know I was. I thought you know it was a tragic end McGowan crew. I mean it was just a Really hurt to see that happy at the very end After a thirteen of the Breeders Cup races have that happened in the ashtray and and racing. Definitely I think has some issues and concerns going forward. the people in the industry maybe do a better job messaging but I still remain. Optimistic is the horserace fan about the future and I was. I came away like in the Breeders Cup. I thought there was some great performances and Looking for work once again the next year very good well. We're looking forward to the action this weekend give us some thoughts about Churchill had terrific card even today yesterday and Wednesday were good and of course the Commonwealth on Saturday the feature the Grade Three Mile and a sixteenth.
