Because they're not social distancing and all of a sudden it ends up punching me hitting me slapping me tackling me to the ground is very concerning is very concerned. Jalen. We have new information. "He is Jalen rose what up. I'm David Jacoby and cool. Check in together. We are known as Jalen and Jacoby but is it as we do he jalen. The last dance has concluded about three days ago. But the impact still reverberates. The latest we have is from Horace Grant with some strong words about the documentary. Let look like let's talk about it or we can. The is another way. It's only a bridge man. I'm telling you he was the only and I think he proves that during this so called documentary when you can say something about him he's GonNa cut you off He's GonNa try to destroy your character. My point is that he said I wasn't snitch. But you can still after thirty five years. He brings up his rookie year going into former teammates. Room saying coke and weed and women. My point is widely hailed that he wanted to bring that up. What what they got to do with anything. I mean if you if you WANNA call by the SNITCH. Snitch RIGHT THERE BLUE. Jalen does horace grant have a bit of a point about the last dance. This isn't an exact science of money. Can't buy love and so many times. We think winning and success and championships harmony but a lot of cases is just the opposite in s enough. Nba along. It's unfortunate for me to see these successful gentleman who accomplish so much aren't CNN. Atta I but the one thing about doing a documentary or writing a book is. There's a story to be told it what's going to happen. Is You make people relive things from their past. That are painful to them. If particular sometimes around people they can be family France or neighbors. That don't necessarily noted that happen and now you feel you have to relitigate something that was painful to you and your life. But he didn't have to tell all the SCOTTIES warts. I agree with that. A couple of these COULDA got left up. Because that's his robin so to speak but ain't no way to tell the story without having good characters and bad characters and it's just unfortunate but lastly I'll have to admit Jacoby and tell me how you feel about this as somebody that produced five that's written a bestselling book when you start to tell a story from beginning to end. There's going to be some casualties. There's GonNa be some people who are happy with how you told the story from your verse. Of course everybody remembers things different. You know what I mean. I think especially when you have a documentary like this. The main character is Michael Jeopardy Jordan. And he he did multiple interviews and he is the narrator that carries the narrative. Everybody's view of something that you had a collective experience about in the past is going to be different. That's just how it works. You see this with all documentaries and the Horace Grant. He's got the same screen. Time as Michael Jordan is over of course ten hours. Because it's about Michael Jordan but one thing that you did mention which I thought was interesting is horace grant had of took a little bit of a notice of how Scottie Pippen was treated and skype. Himself hasn't really spoken about the documentary. Do you think has a point. The Sky Pippen wasn't treated fairly in this project. I do because and we love Jason Aaron. I know he was telling. Mj story and he did a terrific job but what ends up happening is Scotty became collateral damage in the story because it exposed all of his warts to a new audience. Now he has to relitigate the pain and this should be something a he's able to celebrate winning six championships thousand nine hundred ninety eight documentary island you should be on every TV every radio station enthusiastic about this being out. So it's disappointing that he can't enjoy it in a somebody that loves Scottie. Og I got a chance to play in Chicago. And I told you how he felt that level of pain about it back then it also one of the things. Horace said that I WANNA make sure I address. Everybody knew that drugs was rampant in the early eighties. So if you've got to tell the story of Michael Jordan tire into what the League was like a ninety four when he got into the League that was the NBA in the one thing. Mj Didn't do was named names so everything to meet. It got said too much about Scotty but it did happen for professional consumption. Same thing would horse. Those days happened for professional consumption. He not telling stories off wax about things that they did feeling. I mean the legacy of all these hall of famers has been adjusted because of documentary. But I care very little about that. In comparison to how much I care about the pizza and we have an update on the bottom things. A gentleman named Greg Height who claims to be the man who delivered the pizza. Let's listen to the proposed. A man would be only both fan in the store. I'd like Hey I will make the pizza and I remember saying this. I don't make the pizza. 'cause I don't want any of you doing anything to it. The crap story to guy says that there were five people. There was two of US and and I didn't even have that many people working obviously the pizzas basically never left me. It's been around me the whole time. The next day cost US comes up and says it he got food poisoning from pizza. Whatever so I was. I said some colorful words. Craig fight. Who Works at a Pizza Hut in Park City? He says he's a full spectrum gets to call he's going to be Chicago Bull. I listened to all of his interviews. I know everything about Craig and you know what I kind of believe him. Jalen do you think there were five people the doors like Tim says or tubular door? Late Craig says do think that perhaps the pizza was spiked or poisoned in some way lake. They suggest on in Michael Jordan's camp or do you think that it was. It was washed by careful. I have ables fan as Craig says who do you. You Know Horace can alluded to it you know. Sometimes the older you get. The longest walk was to school and the next day. It was like two people outside the door. Then I twenty five thirty years later. Five people outside the door. You know how this works and also they could be people to actually work for a hotel or security to brought the months when you open the door. You look out and you see multiple people but that into story. The store is this gentleman's of Bulls Fair. He was in Utah. He wanted to make sure in jail. Whoever got the pizza and nothing happened to it so it goes back to what I've been trying to tell the world forever it. You're out or at a hotel and his pass eleven and you have in drink and gambling. You smoke cigars likely. It's going to affect your stomach differently. In nineteen ninety eight then it would in nineteen ninety-three. What do you think about that? Well here's what I know. And I'm going to represent all of the current and former pizza chefs around the world. And I mean when you really care about a pie when you really care about a pie. There's no chance anything goes wrong with that PIE. He was with that pie the entire time he treated that. I like they treat the Oscar winner at the Oscars. Like Pie was a clean pie and I just want to stand up for pizza chefs around the world my bedroom. Nothing we would ever do to compromise the pod. Four when we come back. Nfl has proposed some changes to the of detail that and much more as we movement.

"Three seven seven six if we get some facilities opening up earlier and others opening up later if we get different capabilities for teams to do care at all. I'm going to take your take and your take on all of the sports landscape that we're talking about right now but before we get there quickly. It wants you to hear a little bit of what you can expect this weekend. As we'll get the new Lance Armstrong documentary coming out this weekend. And Floyd Landis talked about how coming out and talking about doping affected the relationship that he had specifically with Lance Armstrong. One thing I do have is some apathy for him because I I went through some real humiliation and in Earth's man and then you want to blame somebody and sometimes it's easier to just pick the most obvious thing or person and blame them and you know some extent he he can blame me. Maybe maybe it would still be maybe would still be a secret if it wasn't for me but you know it wasn't for me. I couldn't manage it anymore. Had to I had to come clean. And obviously you know is is not happy about that. And I hope we find some Caesar's wife I don't have had George. I take part of what we're going to see this weekend on the land saw Lance Armstrong documentary. That comes out on Sunday. We're taking your take care about competitive balance at all. When it comes to the return of Sports Ronald in Florida? What do you got? And then that's GONNA be That's GonNa be a good doctor first of all my man Chewy As Internet breaking as that would be that could never happen referenced Kevin Garnett any game any year Sir. Okay as a let's take the NBA. For Instance Fizi gives me a why lebrons Jaanus in. Kb Let's those four guys pick teams. That should play off. Email the comes out is to champ. It doesn't matter. We just want to see him play. That's not going to be a true champ. I just want to see them play. Goo- I mean that's actually not a bad idea Ronald. That's not a bad idea instead of coming back those like if we can't come back the normal way. I mean having everybody go in and do some sort of a tournament that Declares a victor of some sort and we can have some fun with is not the worst idea. I'm not out on that. Joshua in South Dakota Josh. What he got. Hey Brian what's up and thanks. Thanks for calling. What's your take Well my take is Look I lost my job. I'm unemployed I live in my truck with my bulldog name Spanky and and Look I love. Sports grew sports football fan huge football fan. I love the chargers. But here's my take. We need to pause need to collect ourselves to. He'll we need to believe in people. People are dying so hey let's be real. Sports may not happen. We may have to accept that I love. Espn radio. I love. I love to see all the stuff going on junior all that. But Hey how about this? How about this athletes siring paraphernalia clothing? All that stuff and just put it out there and help these people in in America. And what do you think about that? Well Joshua first and foremost man. I'm sorry it's tough. These are tough times for a lot of people and I think that's why this is. There's a line for all of us and I'll say this there's nothing I can do to fix the pandemic world that we live in. Obviously I don't have the power or the knowledge. I'm not smart enough to do any of that can try and do whether it's here or on any ESPN VEHICLES. We can try and offer some level of distraction and our very best. That's what we can be in sports and entertainment and music and all of it. The best we can do right now. Is trying to distract people till we can get to times. That are better for everybody involved in it so to your point you know yes. People matter more than sports. There's no doubt about it but more than ever I believe what we need is hope and sports and at least the return and possible return of sports offers. That hope we'll canes going keep talking about it. Plus overreact to Horace Grant strong comments. Y'All stay strong out there. Love Y'all I take your take..

"Twenty two years of age just twenty two. He's got a handle. He's got a shot he can go to the whole he could finish at the basket. Plus he can defend. I love what I see from Zion. Love what I see from Luca. All those both of those candidates clearly have the potential. But I got news for you. It would be a mistake to omit Jason Tatum from this conversation. He is right there and he could overtake anybody. He's got that kind of skill. That kind of link that kind of athleticism. That kind of defensive prowess as well. He's got the package man. He something special I take your take on. Espn RADIO ESPN news. I think this is a reminder that the NBA is set up for something special moving forward because you can have a real conversation about where Luca falls in this. Where tatum falls in this. And to me where Janas onto both obviously going to be the visit visit physical specimen that will be staring at for the next decade. I mean the young talent the NBA is absolutely spectacular right now out of anything is a reminder of how well positioned the NBA is. We've there's anything we can take away from. The last we talked about that era of greatness. And how many incredible players they were there were and how many of them frankly were overshadowed by the the simple shear power of the bowls and Michael Jordan. That's all fine but after that there was a period where people were suddenly concerned about star power in the NBA. No more as you look across the board at talent the age of twenty five and it's hard to really make an argument for one person over anybody else as the defining League Star for the next ten years. There are multiple guys that can fill into that role. But I do this anytime we talk about. Role of dominance throughout the course of the League that also means winning at the highest possible level. And if we're going to look across the board at whose position to win for the next several years you've got to like the position that tatum's in and frankly I've got to like the ability of the mavs to find a way to continue to add to a roster that I think already has a lot of talent I think your tank. Espn RADIO ESPN news. Were presented by progressive insurance. We're asking you should competitive balance even matter when it comes to sports returning. Do you care if one team gets into the practice facility early. There's no home field advantage if we're talking neutral site games if only some college football teams are playing in the fall. Do Care about any of it or does it not matter as long as we get sports back chewy in California. What are you got my friend? Hey Good morning from the west coast fence competitive balance. The first thing that comes to my mind is monetary side of it. You know small market when it comes to baseball I mean. Let's go through sports really quick and if they don't want preseason games anyway these guys are going to be fine. Nba Okay guys have come back after injuries in a season longer than what the lamp has been. And what do they do? They limit their minutes to eighteen. Twenty two minutes put. These guys are gonNA come back and they're not going to be with injury you know. That's a party same thing you ever tried to lost to. We had chew. I lost. We had to chew and we lost him too is right like the layoff is obviously going to have huge implications to everybody on coming back in a positive way. I think I think the layoff can be a real positive. Everybody coming back together. West is what do you do for certain guys in the NBA? We'll go back to their guys have already openly admitted. They didn't have hoops that their houses. They didn't need them. They live by the practice facility. Hasn't been a big deal. So what do you do if you're a team where he got a superstar? That hasn't even shot a basketball over a month. I mean that is something that most of these guys haven't even thought about happening in their lives for years so I wonder how much rust versus rest. We always talk about it at the end of the NFL season. We talk about one week off and what it means to rhythm and rust versus rest. I mean think about that argument when you'RE TALKING ABOUT MONTHS OFF. I mean that's going to be such a big part of what we have in. The conversation is what it looks like when it all comes back now speaking of what it looks like when it all comes back. Give him my take on the thought of sports without fans especially given the fact that Jim Harbaugh has openly said. He's okay with no fans in the in the stands. If that's what it takes to take that over not having any games at all Martin and from Alaska you WanNa get your take on. What are you man? What's your take? Well I'm again it. I remember when this whole thing I came up. Lebron was the first one to say. E Ain't gonNA play with without fans in the stands. I don't know if he's changed his standing but I just think that particularly for professional sports I mean to me and I and I. I don't interested in years and years since I've been to a game live but but nonetheless When I listened on the radio or even catch on TV You know the fans make a difference. I think fans the Games won't necessarily have the same outcomes some teams respond better to have fans And I just want to remind everybody that you know there have been some years in professional sports. Where teams or leagues went on. Strike and had seasons canceled because the players wanted more money and they even garnered a fair amount of of fan support for that and And you know it's going to cancel a season because of money that I don't see any problem with canceling the season because of something like this college. Sports is maybe a little bit trickier but nonetheless You know they've had teams suspended for seasons. You know for years or even more than one year and and the school still survived and have sports again so More next few take. Let me say a couple of things one. You're right We've had strike seasons. That have gone away. I think your remembrance of what that looked like is a little different. Because you know for for me at least when I look back at it seasons that we're impacted by the strike for Major League baseball or or be it for the NHL a more recently. When you look at those two sports there was huge blowback I mean there was absolutely epic levels of blowback to to what it meant for the future. Now that's because it was about money so this is about safety not money. Maybe it's viewed differently but the other part of it is. You're talking about one sport. You're not talking about all sports. I think that becomes a different level of pressure impressions. Really what this is all about money and pressure when you think across the board at the money on the line I think the pressures highest college football because they understand that they fund all of their sports. And we're talking about a world where real universities are. Suddenly cancelling full majors not sports canceling majors. They're canceling programs around history and English and things like that because they don't have to wishing coming in because they're not going to have students on campus so there are real world ramifications it create pressure to try and get athletes back on the field sooner than they should want now. I will argue as much as especially the NBA talks about fans. Not Being in the stands. I will go back to what Mark J spears said with us. When this all very first started one of the for shows we ever did during the time of the conversation pandemic one of the things mark said is that e NBA teams could easily put a DJ in the stands and they could have a local Dj that means something to culture in that city. Come in and play some music in the background. I think ideas like that are spectacular. It would take a lot of compromise though. Because when music's televised they cost everybody money. People may not realize that. So you'd have to have a compromise between the sports business and entertainment business. So you've got all of these different factors that I think could be analyzed by the NBA. Give us some way to make it at least feel somewhat normal questions. You guys even care. Are you so thirsty at some point for competitive balance that you don't even care about whether or not there is any competitive out here so thirsty for sports? I should say we'll take more your take triple eight say. Espn eight seven. What what the heck chew is back. All right we're GONNA blow up the clock chewing your back already. Fans in the stands. Julie what are you got twice in one segment? Hey Yeah I got to what he got a real quick but the fans in the stands to let us know this great. Can you imagine basketball would no fans in the sands these guys mike up you hear every scripture shoe every slap on the wrist every curse for being thrown out every? Mama joke every single word got in the NFL and held for preseason all star Game The baseball been implemented. And it's been a big hit. Can You Imagine Basketball Mike? That would be great. I I'm with you on a percent but we'd have to have some sort of an agreement on the last dance where the edited version is played on a ten second delay somewhere else and if home sponsors boy am. I nervous quickly about what these guys are saying that. We.

"Is so powerful but I think this is interesting when horace not account about snitch. And I'm with you on that. It's when Horace talked about Scotty Pippin. I think it's very fascinating guys. That potentially the greatest Robin of all time a guy that Michael Jordan and his Hall Hall of fame speech came out and said you know I could have done without Scotty. I think was really interested away with brand Jordan being so involved in this the way Scottie. Pippen was the picked it and the fact that Jackie macmullan has written the story about this that the greatest robin of all time has not been out promoting. This documentary has not said anything about this documentary and actually cutting you feel hurt for him the way he was the pick. Did I take your take on? Espn RADIO ESPN news. Give you some straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. I keep seeing this. In fact I was just tweeting. A Greenberg Greenie last hour about this. And we we keep talking about the way Scottie. Pippen was was projected in this. And we he's shown in this documentary. Just my problem with trying to worry about Scotty is that Scott has a bigger platform. Then any of the people were talking about. I'll say it again. Who's got been worked for? What show do you see Scotty? Pippin on all the time the jump you WanNa tell me that Rachel Nichols wouldn't gladly sit down and give Scottie Pippen. Blow this whole show up for two hours. Scotty you WANNA come on you work for us. You want the two hours to tell your side of the story all day every day you can have it wisely not doing it. He doesn't care man. We are all standing around worried. About how guys they Scottie. Pippin feel like they're being portrayed when Scott given doesn't care how he's being portrayed he's got his he's fine. What do stood up on the camera and said if I had it to do over again I wouldn't change anything. Why because he doesn't give a damn about what you think. And he's not going to relive any of it. I mean if Scottie Pippen of all the people involved in this you WanNa tell me the suddenly John Paxson doesn't feel like he was represented. What well maybe a little tougher for John. Paxson to get the microphone the same way you WanNa tell me the Craig. Hodges wasn't happy with something he even Craig. Hodges could get some level of microphone. Horace Grant get some level of microphone. How much Mike? How much time could Scottie Pippen? Get You WanNa tell me that. If Scotty wanted his side of the story to be told differently that he could have gone on every single. Espn platform from get off all the way to s VP. To tell his side of the story he hasn't. What's that mean? That means you care we care? Everybody cares about this a heck of a lot more than the person that were supposedly worried about which Scotty Pippin who's sitting back saying now I'm good. I'm comfortable with what I did. And I don't really give a damn about the documentary or what anybody thinks. That's straight talk straight. Talk wireless everything for less only Walmart. We're getting your straighttalk on whether or not competitive balance matter when it comes to the Return Sports Travis in Illinois. What are you? What are your thoughts on competitive balance on while I want to give you some love that Disney sing along with you and Duncan you guys crush that and it was amazing how does that I think the NBA. The sports I think the NBA that the competitive balance could really be thrown off. You think about it. These guys are you know. Essentially going through the full off season the last time they played basketball. And when they come back they're gonNA be thrown right into basically the playoffs so the teams that are getting into facilities and getting more in basketball shape. They're going to have a little bit more of an advantage of the they'll straight into a playoff format like that well and look. I don't disagree with that. There is going to be if we go straight to a playoff for the NBA or NHL. Thanks for your take on Travis the NBA in the NHL. The nobody's talking about the NHL but let's face it the NHL is trying to put together a plan to bring us a playoff. So there's GonNa be some sort of interesting moment there for competitive balance that will come in as a factor you guys can keep chiming in triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six the other big discussion today from I take obviously was about the potential changes and now we do know some changes have been made to the Rooney rule and there were some potential bigger changes on the landscape. The question is how should we feel about potential? Nfl minority hiring hiring incentives. Stephen A. Max Chimed in on that today. Well it's a step in the right direction. But I'm not getting too excited about it because I'm not excited about the owners in the National Football League as I stated yesterday on the six o'clock sportscenter the NFL has a race problem. I'm going to say it again. The NFL has a race problem now. Usually when you say something like that people are looking at numbers and then they'll look at the players and they'll talk about how sixty five to seventy five percent of the players in the National Football League happen to be black. That's not my point. My point is the three black coaches in four minorities. The Ron Rivera making the fourth along with only two African American GM's My problem is individuals like cliff Kingsbury. Who clearly have no resume to the NFL head coach? But somehow bypasses of slew of people. A lot of African Americans even more White folks that are qualified somehow someway. He gets the job. That's my issue. And that's why I said something has to be done about really publicizing the process of some what of objective criteria whether it's offensive coordinators are special teams coordinator. You have to hold one of those positions before becoming a head coach or something along those lines where we're able to look at the process. That is that that people have to endure to see whether or not they're qualified for these positions. To begin with we can get into all of that stuff about how guys need to better ingratiate themselves with executives and owners and vice versa. We can definitely explore that but in the end the first the first order of business making sure that people who are relatively unqualified who happened to be white. Don't get these opportunities and to any white person out there. That would challenge what I am saying. I ask a very very simple question and I hate doing it. Because I don't know cliff kingsborough. He's done nothing to me. I have nothing against him. I wish nothing but the best but because he got an NFL head coaching job. One of only two in the in professional football. I gotta ask this question if if if a black man. Hatcliffe King's birdies resume. Would he have ever had a head coaching job in the National Football League? The answer is an emphatic. No everyone knows it. It's never happened in history. And these are the common things that we have to bring attention to follow alliance People like Troy Vincent and others in the NFL League. Office along folks. I showed up at quarterback summit that Morehouse college last June. At a plethora of the people this is a concern that needs to be spoken about. It needs to be broached. That's why we're doing it. This is a step in the right direction. I'm not going to deny that but I am not excited. Because they've shown an ability to circumvent on navigate themselves around anything that's been implemented in the past. I don't believe in him yet as of yet. Anyway the issue. This is a step in the right direction as you said Stephen. It's part like the Rooney rule even originally is not meant to be a panacea. You know here's this one thing that's going to end racism in the United States because really what we're dealing with the results of systemic racism. That's what this is thirty of thirty two owners in the NFL. Or EUROPEAN AMERICAN. Forget about white and black european-american. There's one Korean American of low bills. And there's one Pakistani American Jacksonville Jaguars but when we talk about diversity among owners. We're really talking about African American because my people from Eastern Europe right. They came here willingly for a better life. And that is the story largely of immigrant immigrant groups including Pakistani Americans now and Korean Americans who were the WHO are the two groups represented here that are European American. What we're really talking about is is four hundred years of systemic racism. That's why there are no black owners in the NFL. And now I don't mean to say that owners won't tend to be conservative and by conservative. I don't even really. I'm not really talking political. I mean are they are. They progressive that they want things to change or would they prefer to maintain the status quo will to own a team. You have to be a billionaire so you have benefited from the status quo. Whatever your racial composition or ethnic background. You've benefited from the status quo. So will tend to be. I suspect that I think life has proven this as born this out people's experiences for the most part that billionaires. We'll be conservative in that sense. We like things the way. They are billionaires after all so. I'm not suggesting that we're there. African American billionaires things would necessarily be so much different but I do think they would be different. I look at things ranging from Colin Kaepernick's peaceful and respectful protests kneeling for the national anthem. What was he really doing there? I've said it before. I'll say it again the irony of that because you could say specifically police brutality or interactions with communities of color but really what that's about broadly stem racism and the irony that he wasn't allowed to have a job because he was protesting in a sense. The fact that he's not allowed to have a job unless he behaves a certain way is not lost on me. So so does the Rooney rule help it. Sure does a revised version help sure provided it. There are other measures in place. Also including putting talent in the pipelines.

"But we also gotta take into account they listen and I've made this point about myself speaking nj on several occasions. I should have been a bit more vivid and a bit more. You know revealing. He ain't the only person that I spoke to is that that the other players asked not to be mentioned but I know players that they've said Michael Jordan is doing this documentary and he got money from this he got like ten million dollars or Michael. Jordan's given it all away is getting a dime from this. You have history of players who felt guess. What being a billionaire that he is. He should have done more for them. Being older for the Charlotte Hornets. He might have said or done more for them along those lines he might have been. He should have exerted himself and his influence to get them jobs in the NBA of now with him with somebody else. These all the things that are being said and being said by some people who don't WanNa talk on the record who don't want to talk on camera that have an issue with him so all of those things in there is valid. I understand it but that doesn't mean that you call him out for being a snitch when he mentioned no names and oh by the way it was a drug infested league at the time and every damn body knows it and we know exactly what he was dealing with when he first arrived in Chicago because it was pretty damn bad I listen to Horace Grant Story the same way I listened to Michael Jordan Story. There's merit in both. I don't think there's more truth than Michael Jordan Story. Because he told IT FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE. I think truth in Horace Grant Story. There's two sides to every coin and then there's the truth right and it's our job to try to navigate. Define what the truth is I? I think you guys are both missing. The bigger point here. Which is a topic is worth discussing is that it's been really interesting for me to see the relationships that have have occurred with. Michael and a lot of his teammates. And you know you may mention of the Stephen a when you referred to you know a lot of people that don't say things on the record. Michael Jordan is a very powerful guy very powerful guy people. I think are afraid to speak out on some of the issues that maybe they potentially may have relationship wise and Michael and I know what's complex. I know all relationships are complex when you're talking about one of the greatest of all times because he.

"They're pretty stink and incredible. So I take your take a lot of the conversation today. Had to do with Horace Grant. This is what Horace Grant had to say on company on. Espn CHICAGO. One thousand as he talked about Michael Jordan and the in his words so-called documentary. I wouldn't commit. You're still up to thirty thirty five years. He brings up his rookie year going into One of his teammates room. It's teenage ruining saying coke. Kokin weed and women. My point is why when you hear that he wanted to bring that up. What what they got to do with anything. I mean if if you want to call it by the SNITCH. Needs right there when that So so-called Dr. Maria's is about one person basically and he had the last word on. What's going to be put out there? What's going to be put out there documentary narrative of what Happened in the last dance documentary because the whole thing will cut out out it well. Of course it was edited out horse. I mean let's remember. This footage belonged to Michael Jordan. He's the one that brought in crude film. Everything this is going to somebody's house to play basketball. You're using their court. He has the basketball. It's Koru House rules at that point. I mean if you're walking up to somebody else's house we want to use your who we're GONNA use your ball. Y- get to make the rules. We don't get any last dance if it's not for the fact that Michael Jordan wanted to let it happen so of course. It has some narrative push towards Michael Jordan. But let's also admit it if it was the last dance and over the course of the last ten episodes we got ten hours focused on horace grant with a little bit of Michael Jordan sprinkled. In how many people are watching it anyway. Let's be real. Of course it's jaded George Michael Jordan. He's The star. That's like being surprised at certain guys in boy get more attention. There's a reason that most of you only remember two guys names from instinct. Come on Jay Williams by the way join. I take to discuss Geoghan Horace. Grant's comments this is what J. Will Stephen Max have to say about grants grants take on it? Yes I do but I don't have a problem with him coming to his own defense about you know accusations that he was talking to Sam Smith. If he's talking about himself directly he has every right to come to his own defense especially if he feels like that is a lot. My issue with him was when he intimated that. Mj was being a snitch because mentioning what he had walked into a hotel room in early eighties. J. Maxx don't know if y'all know this but the NBA was a drug infested leak in the in the early eighties. Commissioner David Stern is revered in deified as the commissioner as the former commissioner of the National Basketball Association God rest his soul because a what he inherited and what he turned the league into and anybody that covered the NBA from Pretoria perspective. I can tell. Y'All right now I'm not GONNA mention names I. I didn't hear 'em Jay mentioned their names but I can assure you everybody knows who those players on the squad went N. J. I arrive in his first two years in Chicago. Just look into rust and anybody that covered the NBA. Even though I came a decade later we all heard those stories. We know we know exactly who. Mj is talking about because it was widely. No and so when you look at it from that perspective and you're talking about again I have no issue with horace grant come into his own defense. I know that I would have raised up and raised. Holy Hell if I was accused of talking to a reporter and leak information to that reporter and I know I'm innocent of that. I have no issue with Harvey Grant on that level.
Horace Grant defends Scottie Pippen, questions specific aspects of 'The Last Dance'
"Thing about horse Horace was not just based on his own behalf he was pissed for Scotty Pippen is well because aside from Jordan giving some praise to paper early in the series most of the talk about Pippin was about all these low moments I remember being hold on call the number two guy decorated it's gotten papers put three so badly in terms of the moderate in terms of the one point six or seven seconds Selfridge I I have never seen this and all of my life in the respect of people out there I think games six could barely walk do not down on his back try to do whatever he could to help the team but my my my point is while I was at one point sixty seven seconds in the documentary so called documentary about it will be with only eighteen while they're in there we handle that very year really well as a team he he was wrong for doing that well you're still we went after the game we'll do it up there we have to say bill car right and then we handle it was over it was over we go on the techniques to seven games told me it was over why bring that up that's my question everybody out there is listening it's always grant and it's a fair question if this series is about the final season the so called last dance why was something from four years earlier included something that Jordan was not even therefore he was out playing baseball that didn't concern him he was on that team as Horace said the team handle it in the paper knew it was wrong even though people did say if the documentary that he would not change anything anyway if this was about Michael Jordan's version of the final season why was something that did not involve Michael Jordan why was that given so much time in the dock why was it so important to Jordan to bring up the lowest point of Pippen's career and if you want to say yeah well because that was important believe me he left out a lot of important things so why was it important to him to put that in there

"Jordan for calling out former teammates for doing hard drugs and partying in his early days in Chicago. Skipped is getting worse and worse. Whose side are you on here. Jenny this is a tough one. Because I've always liked horace grant many of the points. He's making about this so-called documents every or dead on point but in the end. I'm still on Michael Jordan side. Because he is who he always was. Many of the things Shannon doesn't like about Michael Jordan. I love about him. Because they're all who he is and has been in why he is in has been yes. Horace yes Shannon. He holds grudges to a fault. Yes he carries out then data's yes. He used his hall of Fame Induction Speech to get even with and call out every last person who ever crossed him or doubted him. Yes yes yes. He did all that. That's why he was psycho driven to go six for six and NBA Finals. That's why he drove his teammates relentlessly mercilessly to try to live up to his greatness when it came playoff time it's why he tried to tough it all up including whole grant and yet. I can't hold it against Michael because it's it's just the Michael I knew in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight and Chicago. Nothing has changed. Did He. Hold a grudge against Horace for the book by Same Smith the Jordan rules. Yes did he unfairly. Call Out Horace in the last dance for being the SNITCH? The ultimate source for Sam Smith in the Jordan rules. Yes he did out of bounds. Michael a Lotta people contributed to that book. A scissor coaches Phil Jackson Jerry. Reinsdorf any other number of players was horse a primary source for that book. I believe he was because Sam went so far as to in his acknowledgments at the end of the book to credit. Horace Grant for being so I forget how it was worded but for for helping so much in the input into the book for always being and being accessible for the writers including in especially Sam Smith. That was the tip off. I believe for Michael Jordan at all will most of it came from Horace. So was Michael going to quote unquote get even with Horace. Yeah I think he wanted to call him out. They did interview horse. Horses told Shannon. Yeah a lot of my answers of the negatives that that I told the producers in my.

"Form near opinion based on what they saw in the beginning now what they saw in. Here's here's where you don't. There's like like you wonder what's going on right. So we're talking about this series against the Bulls right. He doesn't know where. Eddie doesn't you know. Tape shot twenty his shot Blah Blah. Eventually lose in seven games right. This is this series. We're talking about you guys. Remember what else happened in that series because this was really instrumental in terms of why the Bulls didn't win that call. Are you talking about the call Elsie? Yes yeah that night in the dark. Yeah. I was surprising that that wasn't that was huge. So here here. He's take time to look at that series and you talk about the fact that in that one point whatever seconds to less than two seconds left this issue with Scottie. Pippen's but another plane Bob Scottie. Pippen was semi time left by the way which was instrumental in the outcome. And that series happens and you up knack include that. This is what I'm talking about and this is where I understand what horace grant is talking about. It's like you get paid anywhere. You want to Scotty. Pippin SCREWED UP AND THAT ONE GAME. But he was a giant in that series and had that. Bs caught up in it. One that series and appeared on the Eastern Conference finals? That was a heels. Look our swimming out Michael. Without Michael Exactly. But he didn't want to tell you that you see what I'm saying. He wanted to see that. There was somewhat dysfunctional without him. And that Scottie. Pippen would never live this down fast. Forward I'm coming back what I think or global point is that just because Michael Jordan says that it was something doesn't necessarily mean it was something that this is the the Docu series. Last answer was incredibly entertaining. It was very compelling. It was a lot of fun to watch. But it doesn't mean that that is the end all be all when it comes to the truth of these situations. I think that is horses. Point that just because Michael says it doesn't mean that it's Gospel Truth that there are some here there are some things that are just flat out omissions here that need to be mentioned and I think that's what he's just because Michael says it doesn't mean that it's absolutely true because like you did the call the sit down there are all these different things James Worthy piece that you brought up a few times all of this stuff. They're really good points. But they don't tell the story that wanted to be told in those ten episodes so they remitted that's fine too. You just need to understand. Both of them they look do. I think that they went out of their way to not talk about James Worthy situation. No I don't think that they went out of their way. He just was talking about the story of Jordan winning his first championship. Y Mich Oh he did it because James Worthy got hurt you you just. That's not the way they wanted to right. We've got lots more Michael Jordan. Horace grant sound as well but there is a number is going to blow your mind when it comes to Scotty pippin and that's coming up next on the morning show on seven ten. Espn let me ask you guys a question can either one of you do one hundred push ups and four minutes. No nine never tried it Sean. Vacant I CARE. Shawna take a hundred push ups in four minutes. There's a video online that you can go check out right now. That Sean McVeigh is a little swollen. The pictures looking good. He's out there. Doing one hundred push ups and four four hours. I don't know if I could knock out one hundred of them. All the ever does is push up because using stuff. That's how you doing is one exercise now if you if you're really good and can you know this you if you could bench a lot you can do a lot of push ups. Could you're saying to me? That's what I mean. That's the same. Chess is chess. That's all better yet. If you doing only chess exercises you can do one hundred push ups is that all. He's doing it all he's doing. I mean he's got to. You can walk like that hundred four bins one hundred four minutes. I don't care what. That's that's incredibly impressive there. There can't be there's thirty two coaches in the NFL right. Is there another coach? An elite could do that. I think the coach I think cliff pray do one hundred and four minutes and Andy Reid and use his arms. I'll bet you click. Kingsbury has an opportunity to work rhyme. Young guys maybe rocket probably do just trying to think of dues that that you know. How about Beat DOWN IN MIAMI. Brian Floors Yeah. He probably do. Yeah every everybody else they gotta go on a diet member floor do it now. Metal floor can do it European. Mammoth for doing what about before? Now all hill look like a raisin in water real talk. I'll bet you coach anchor. Do it coach Leon. Leeann for chef hundred percent Ron Rivera coach. Sean McVeigh Ron. Rivera's a getting up there be. He's a big dude. Big dudes push ups. That's not usually that's usually fit to. He is it. But Sean mccan. How Paul Sean mcvay five nine five tents that probably find okay? So he's not Ron Rivera was playing in the trenches and the NFL. For God's sakes he's a big dude like if you're going to be able to do shorter him go Sean Huckleberry and Lynn huckster Cook Berry. Who you talking about? Things like Experi better coach down in Arizona for sure. Here's another question for you guys. Why Has Lebron James? Not Been Screaming from the mountain. Top Michael Jordan never had a winning record without Scottie. Pippen and that he took a booby Gibson to the finals. Because that's your job. That's that's what we're supposed to sales ease. It's quite remarkable. How would you control the narrative like that you can set the table anyway you too because people literally are acted as if Lebron James now should not even be in a top-five conversation? Let's say they're moving teaches around it? Bullet people ahead of go look online ever since. Espn did atop seventy four players. And Lebron I was listening to people who are trying to find reasons to justify NOCCO. He's one of the top players ever planning NBA period. It's not even it's nothing. He couldn't agree for consummate winner. His mind boggled that you know you look at it. I six zero. Mj tissues ball hair. Shave knee brace with only problems. All of that you you you to all of those millions of dollars in shoes you just look at everything. These the these the king. He's the guy but then when you start to break down and you really look at it you know damn if there was no Scottie. Pippen minute do may Never WanNa Championship. Kim May have on a second hold on a second. It's not just the he might not have never won a championship. The fact of the matter is not mentioned this earlier. Michael Jordan never had a winning record without Scottie. Pippen and I and I wanted to call into that one right now. We'll come back to that in a second but for the sake of this discussion like he just said win. The Michael Brown comparisons had been going on for years for years. And it's always Michael. Michael is this that and the next thing Brian well. The browns lost six times in the finals. The fact of the matter is Lebron took a couple of at least one team his first trip to the finals against San Antonio a million years ago. That was a legitimately bad team with the exception of Lebron James. He took to the NBA finals. Michael Jordan couldn't get over five hundred and Lebron's taken team to the finals where the second squares booty gets. Come on. Man I mean what are we talking about here is messing around with leasing user. Exactly I get it. This is not to say that Michael Jordan is anything other than the best player I've ever seen because I think he is. But that is an incredibly powerful argument for Lebron James that we've seen it that he's taken teams. That are not a couple of those Cleveland teams. That were guys with Kyrie. Irving obviously a great player but Kevin Love is the third guy the those teams were not stacked away with the warriors and the Lakers and the Celtics in the polls and those teams were stacked and Lebron was still getting them to the NBA finals. This needs to be talked about more because it is an incredibly powerful Travis from Michael should certainly wakes me appreciate Lebron James. Even more though the Brian James comes to Cleveland Cavaliers their get better by almost twenty games immediately at the next season there but five hundred so basically one year and Lebron James this long run the Cleveland. Cavaliers was below five hundred. Lookie here and remember Lebron James came in high school. So we're saying a twenty year old basically it's at five hundred at doesn't turn back as a Cleveland Cavalier. His other losing season obviously was the first year at the Lakers. And we know why because he was hurt and he's done this with kids. He's done this with pros. He's done this hall of fame players done this as the only person that's also in the squad everywhere he goes he just wins games regardless of who you give him even though he may complain about his teammates being enough to win a championship. These still able to take whatever you give them. And when fifty days. I wonder if that changes anybody else's mind out there. I'm genuinely curious. Eight seven seven seven ten. Espn when you hear that Michael Jordan was never over. Five hundred without Scottie. Pippen it sure as hell makes me appreciate Scotty Moore. It certainly makes me more sensitive to the way that Scotty feels about his portrayal in the last dance but when it comes to run in Michael Keane Change. No it is. It's remarkable that to hear then. Michael Jordan is under five hundred in his career without Scottie. Pippen and you look at it and you go Scottie Pippen was without Michael Jordan and took the team to what the Eastern Conference Final Woohoo tip into the semi-finals semi-final Meyer Jordan. Never took his team to the semifinals. He took to the playoffs once right. They went three straight years. They lost in the first round before Scottie. Pippen three straight years in the first round before Scottie Scottie. Even though he said on the bitch wanted to get into the semi-finals strike quick phone call here on the sprint. "So he'll kind of go off song conversation. Okay I have high regard for Horace Grant. He had a long and strong NBA career. He played seventeen seasons so he's no joke. He's no vagabond. He's no sort of extra set piece to this story. He was the ACC player of the year at Clemson he led the ACC and throwing and rebounding his last year there and he was the Bulls had two first round picks. They actually traded up a little bit higher to get Scottie. Pippen eighty-seven and horace went tinto overall also to the Bulls. So Scotty and Hora came in together and away or was was a very good player. So I'm GonNa take nothing away from him and to his credit the one year and this will be episodes. We see this coming Sunday night. What are we up to seven? Seventy eight eight seven minutes it episode seven and eight. We're going to see Michael. Go play baseball for a year. Aa in Birmingham and in that year with no Jordan force grant made the All star team. That was the one and only time he made the team. So I'm going to give him that much respect. Now let's get back to Michael Jordan. He drove horace hard. He saw right away. That horace sometimes needed to have his fire realit- he didn't always play with the focus and the fire the Jordan demanded and it got a little ugly and it got little ruthless. Anti Gun little heartless. That's who Michael is an was. That was the guy whose whole life was committed to winning championships. In the biggest picture. Horace Grant.
Michael Jordan Reportedly Wouldn't Allow Horace Grant To Eat After Bad Games
"You gentleman see Michael Jordan TMZ report this morning no report this is from Sam Smith or Michael Jordan wouldn't allow Horace grant to eat after bad games he hated losing so much Sam Smith revealed that they would get on the plane after a bad game and M. J. would make airline stewardesses skip grant players would come over to me over the years so you know what he did he took courses food away on the plane he told the stores is quote don't feed him he does not deserve the it sounds about right Hey you're going to say he doesn't deserve his meal until he plays better

"Out of Saint Malo. He wasn't oak. He wasn't as talented at what he did as you were at what you did but in size stature toughness physicality yes you but but but the point was oak was only on that team for so long and to Jerry. Krause's credit his credit. He got rid of it. And I don't think Michael wanted to go to the next but he let him go so the point was that Michael Jordan was the unquestioned leader of this team and he led by example and he led by deed. So again. You're right I think. Today's Jordan fifty seven had real reservations about. Am I gonNA come across a horrible person? Well this this story wasn't in the documentary. I don't think maybe it will be but Sam Smith just told you. I believe a San Francisco radio station. So Sam Smith did write. The book called the Jordan rules and by the way who has in the documentary Michael Jordan condemned as the quote Unquote Judas in the locker room. Who betrayed him? Just Sam Smith. Who was the number one locker room source? It was horace grant so I think Morris probably had the same feelings that you had. But there's no way he's going to want to challenge Michael Jordan to a fight because I don't think he could beat him a fight visit. Just me I don't think Shannon Sharpe could beat Michael Jordan in a fight though I think it would have been a hellacious. Good fight me but in the end in the end this is how Michael Jordan led. If he didn't like what Steve Kerr was doing practice any warned him in Steve. Kerr did it again. Hard fouled him or will produce a hard pick again after he was warned they got in the face. Well he he motivated by fear. So I think it's vintage Jordan and I don't have any problem with it whatsoever. That if horace didn't live up to the standards that Michael had set for him as a performer as a basketball player. Michael is liable on the team. Flight home to tell the flight attendant. No food for him and again. It's not like he locked him in a closet for two days and didn't let him eat. He just didn't get a poet. Game lied wholemeal. I'm eight when he got he's fine but guess.

But I have to go a lot of lot of respect to To Jerry Reinsdorf kind of hitting the no. This is going to be missile hits way. That's the story. Yeah do you ever think that you are underestimated at times because you were the guy well? Will you play to superstars like Scouting and Michael. You know you're not GonNa get the glory if you will If you when you feel that you deserve but give credit to Phil Jackson This let me know how important I was to the team. He relaxed everything guys. How surprised were you when he decided that he was gonna walk away or did you see it coming? I didn't see that coming at all. I mean when you after winning three championships. We're ready to defend what is ours and then when he walks away and I'm like wow I mean I don't know If he would just tire or wanted to have a challenge in something else But when he walked wait we've all. Wow okay now. We knew as a team what we had to do. We had to just work a little harder to try to get that championship. Yeah we play this game with every guest that we have is called headline grab where we say something and then you give us something and we're going to make a headline and get some big news out of it. So I'll rephrase big cats question. How much money in debt was Michael Jordan from gambling when David Stern asked him to take a year off? Hey that's something also oblivious to a whole bunch of the guys out about playing basketball party thing in going home. That's what he gave me so I I don't know they started totally. Take a year off I know. Mj loved to to gamble. That's what I mean Even though on luggage even on You know What color you think that next car? GonNa be coming down the street so In terms of that I don't know if that caused his retirement or not. Would you gamble with? Would you gamble with him on the plane and everything play cards? Oh Hell Yeah we did. How Myself Oak on? Repeat my whole bunch of us. How would you do what would you say are you upper down to Mj? In your life gambling one I can only say one thing that He ran out of cash. One Night He didn't have enough cash on him. And of course when you don't have enough cash we loan the money and I think I loaned in about two thousand dollars and of course. I was talking trash every time I gave him about. Four hundred five hundred and then he got he was so kiss the next day he brought two thousand dollar work for crispy one hundred dollars. Bill pay you back right right? I got one last one. F- for you. What happens if you pick up the phone when shack calls you? Before he goes to the Lakers. I will say I will be here. I will get on my knees ambig- least least me. I will bagels you. That's one of the story. Goes right like you. He's deciding any called you and you missed the call and he never called him back in the next thing. You know. He's a Laker. Yes he called me. I think two or three times. Oh and yeah. I'll never forget this man. If I had pick up the phone maybe things would have been and I did not pick up the phone And Man and when? I heard that he signed with the Lakers. I drove from Florida to my mother's house in Georgia and I stayed there for about two weeks and just depressed shit man. It was like it's like you know boxing titan. He He. Yeah that's how I feel that all you had to do is pick up. Shack was probably like I really WANNA go. I Really WanNa stay with the magic but I need one person to tell me and you just didn't pick up your phone and that's why I pick up my phone all the time. Now you'd be really good at blocking the year contest. Great story though. That like you're sitting there and you didn't call him back in the next thing you know. He's on the Lakers. Like Oh yeah probably should have returned that phone call. Exactly man. I'm GONNA give you a pick one from from these three guys. If you're down one score you down by one point okay. With with half a second left on the clock. Who Do you want with the ball in their hands? Put that shot up. I mean you'd be three options. Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant or shack gets eight free throws and we're down by one down by one he's just gotTa make two of 'em man. It's funny he's such a tough old polar bear because I played with Kobe. I've seen what I will get a ball to I'll get about him because he had a meeting with me being there for seven years and I've seen the shots he made but is a very good question guys. That was a very good question. What about Robert? Ory would if I put his name in there. Ooh Big shot up. I will have to say because it many big shots in that he'd made I will have the ball and Michael or A. Kobe hand penetrated then kicking the big. Sarah are have some weird like bank. Got Off the backboard off. The side of the ball finds its way to. Nobody's with Kathy. Hey let's Look Robert. Ory Man Yep seven championships so I have. I have another headline grab for you. The balls versus your three Peat Bulls versus the warriors with Kevin Durant seven game series. Everyone's at everyone's at their peak so everyone's at their physical peak. I will say I will say the Buddhist at six. I love head night. Never Goner seven game in the finals being with the Bulls. We don't believe in seven games in about against the heat with Dwayne Wade. Lebron would you guard? Lebron Scotty would probably guard the Brown. Yeah I probably on Chris by Yup. Yeah problem but I would say. Seo Making five Oh five. And that's yeah. Listen man when when when you got a Michael Jordan Scottie. Pippen in their prime in awards. Grant there you go. I mean the three element our mentality was how many games it was gonNA take. But we were GONNA kick your ass seriously. I mean this is not being over confident but man and plus we could adjust to rules. I don't know if the the this generation could just to the rules back in the eighties at night and how physical it was. Yeah if they had the wraps from the nineties I think you guys sweeping maybe gentleman sweep yes but if they have. I don't know if it's like Adam. Silver get on the phone and tell them people okay. We need to make a series. We gotta we gotta bring some money. And where were you on that later saying that David Stern gave that series away from the Kings? Do you guys no no no I was going to Landau on this bullshit. That on the record. I have two last questions for you. Horse has been great. The first is when you left and went to the magic. And then you beat the Bulls with the the. Mj comes back from baseball. You know only plays eighteen games or whatever and then you get carried off on the court. Do you think that was kind of an awkward? Move like you made fun of the Pistons for for ducking the handshakes. You got carried off one shoulders in the second round. I told I told you that I know don't do it. No he was like man. Get no good and I quote. Say you better get your ass up here seriously and now I mean that wasn't me I mean I don't do stage like them. I mean you can ask anybody. I don't do that but did you have Phil Jackson. Talking aloes field to this very day and I quote feel I am going to make you beat us. I'M GONNA keep you leave you open. I'm GonNa make you beat us so and you were also was s series. Yeah you did it so he deserved. Well get carried off. I would love to walk off and talk chicken sky later all right so my last question and this is a hilarious thing to look back on but I just need confirmation. There's one hundred percent true You once stride to skip practice because Scottie Pippen's cat died and you were morning the cat. Hey choose third but the thing behind that. I was still drunk from the night. So that got me really emotional out that cat. You really were in your feelings about that cat. Listen we have a quite a few drinks and you still hung over. You still get most about certain things. There's this special cat nine times they can dine. You can just the the book. I mentioned the book For everyone listening On Monday show blood on the horns but it was like Scotty called in and was like. Hey My cat died and mock me a practice today in fifteen minutes later you called and you're like hey scotties cat died. I'M NOT GONNA be in practicing. Hey We came together in nineteen eighty seven so that was my man. That's friendship that's deep friendship to be like I'll I'll come and sit and be with you and your cat dies. Absolutely I mean. The can't we have a great. What was the cat's name down? You wouldn't have that. I got I got one more thing for you. You're wearing your bulls polo shirt right now. I gotTA wonder if you look at that logo from your perspective right now. Have you ever noticed that if the Bulls logos upside down? It's a robot having sex with a crab look at it thick crap to upside down. It's dummy.

"Know the ironic thing about that was I I never knew that what? Mj said about the Pistons I guess after game three in those They didn't deserve to be camp. They missed the game up and all that if I had known that. I don't think I would call them bitches. I would've said crybabies but to answer your question I talked to the idea Thomas and we had a great great compensation I mean and I I see Isaiah all the time also weakened we may we have written conversations. We have a great conversation About everything and it's cool. I just put it that way that that moment where you guys beat the Pistons and knowing everything that had come before that like I actually was kinda shocked. They didn't go deeper into the migraine. Gained the Scotty migraine game. Knowing that you were so close with Scotty. What was Michael's reaction that because you can still see it on his face that he doesn't really believe that Scott had a Migraine? And that probably speaks to his psychopath competitiveness. Where he's like. Nothing could ever stop me when that happens. Are you right after the game or you like yes? Scotty clearly had a Migraine or do you side with J. Little Bit and be like it's crazy. He wasn't able to compete in game seven. Listen will you have migraines and I had a couple of migraines. Were you have migraines? May you is blurry. You can't see the Noah's is crazy. There's no way skydeck of the function that were by grant and he did have a Migraine and for for us it. I mean for the people who sipping guest that if you can say you know you know they can kiss my ass you know. That's that's crazy man in that slow when they asked him about that he is living in a SMIRK. A little bit the do that was your side. Kick Ruins your second in command. He had a migraine. Yeah that's my thing so so I wanNA move onto the rest of your career besides three people but I I wanted to. I was wondering like what's the moment in the three peat That sticks out the most. Your what's series sticks out the most to you. Obviously the my favorite horace grant moment is is the sons the block on Jayjay. The extra pass two packs in the possession before. But when you think back like what's that moment for you what Ben Moment Man I would have to say there was a great moment Me Personally but as a team I would have to say the Portland sears when when you know the starters we weren't up to par and feel took us out. I think he just kept scattering. Took ME IN MD out and put the benching and the bitch brought us all the way back. I think that will win a proud moment because it was it was teamwork emmy it just proves to you when in in practice. I mean the first guys important. The number twelve guy is important because we pushed each other in practice and when that time for a while teammates to come in and carry us from Stacey King Scott William Bobby Hansen all. The guys came in and did their job. Would you say dat moment is better than when puff daddy dropped her name and said? I'm trying to get my hands on some grants like horace and all about the Benjamins. Well I would say the bull but I still love my hands of the market right. It's like he was like the world's biggest rapper at the time. Just name checks you in his biggest song. That's some serious clout wait when when super rappers like Puff Daddy. Pd drops your name in his songs. You May Yeah did you get any residuals off that you ever like? Hey Puff Daddy how about you? Throw me a couple of grants shit. I'm still waiting for the check and so I'm curious the ninety a fourteen th team that Michael Goes and plays baseball great team. Fifty five wins all time series against the Knicks is that you know was that series because you guys are trying to prove something was that series. The hardest series you played in was that series. The most you've ever wanted something because that there's so many famous moments from it but that series to me like you and Scottie were like we gotta prove something. Here we're trying to go for four-pete it was like being out in the desert and you walk for our food without water and you want that water. That's how bad not just me Scotty but myself. Bjp Myers all of us on. That team won that championship so badly because during that time with MJ accord he deserved all the the the accolades in attention all of that he deserved because he was a leader and our beds player but we will call the joint nares and that was okay but still. We knew that we had something to prove not to to ourselves. But to basically the whole world that we were capable of of a de being professional in winning the Do you think do you think Scottie? Fouled Hubert Davis no chance Bez. No chance in hell. The Davis no disrespect to Hubert. But there is no way. This guided Pippen's file Uber. That actually could be. Its own thirty for thirty because it had the Scotty sitting out Toni. Kukoc cheating the game winner. It had a fighting the basic change the rules of fighting in the NFL and the NBA. It had that Hubert Davis thing it had The Dunk Pippen on doing like. It had everything. Ooh I mean if someone wanted to make thirty for thirty that would be the series man. I mean in terms of Knocking on you win the fight as you said that that That non file You know the toughest toughest situations that seeing that so-called foul so so the end of that game when Toni Kukoc gets the last shot and Scotty says take me out of the game. You're good friends with Scotty. Pippin to see him do something like that during a game where I mean there. Everybody on the outside was talking about if it happened. Now Skip Bayless Wind. Shut up about it for probably three months but at the time of your good friend after that. Game's over do you talk to your case. Scotty what the Hell is going on? Why did you do that or did you have is back? Oh we had some conversation man a question to to to the public at Scott Base player in the MVP candidate. I mean A candidate if Michael Michael Jordan if the MTA was on that team will feel Jackson. Gabe Scotty the ball. I mean we're Sky Sky Okay. We're GONNA release play for you know. Probably not probably not he might. You might say Scotty might be open. And if he's open you can pass it but I think yeah he give the ball to Jordan exactly but saying that. There's no excuse for two to sit down like that. It was no excuse but we know in heal the battle. These happened and we addressed it as tea as a team after the game in the Apologize immensely for not getting out there on that court With his team and we go we let it go because we knew and he knew that he was in the wrong. What I've always wondered from that. Play in the huddle did anyone mention that. You had run that play earlier in the year. The exact play for a game winner because that feels like that would have been the moment like. Hey Dude it worked before Scotty. Chump coach game winner. We think about that so it's easier for me to say right but but but but the thing is that we won the game and feel well the jeans and I'm pretty sure work. If Scott could relive that moment he would have been out there. Doing telling me to ball okay. So that's a good segue to fill because if you if you don't win that game phillies just ripped apart for having someone than Scottie Pippen. Take that shot you. You played fill with the Bulls and the Lakers What is it about Phil Jackson's coaching style? That keeps teams together. And we see all this stuff with Dennis Rodman and having them all work together. What does he do? That's different than the other coaches you've had in your in your career man for for a guy to I WANNA say control but have all these egos in check. I mean a freaking genius. He will let you be your own person. Have Your own personality. You go out and party. You can do whatever you want to do. It has to be confined in the concept of. When you step on the court you have to play your role and and and do your job and play that role. Well and that's what he did. He never tried to pull ups in a box. Or anything of that nature One thing about that that Bulls Rhonda you guys had is. There were a lot of really good defensive players on those seems really really good defensive players and it seems to me like getting everybody to buy in and keep playing tough defense even when you're going four P. after you've had a three peat and when you're in La having goes great teams and keeping them playing at a high level offensively. It takes some good motivational skills as a coach to be able to encourage that during the year so was it like was it a fear thing did you know if. I don't go hard on defense. This game I might see my minutes reduce or was it more about accountability to you know Jordan and pippen who were also good defensive players. Well we we know during those championship years that In order to be successful when championship you have to play deep in. You have to stop the other team from scoring and we were so in tune with each other that when M. J. or or Scotty went full of steel and they didn't get it. They knew I had their back. And and see if I didn't if I slipped up I know Bill Cartwright was back there. He hit my back so we had that continuity with each of out there in the competence with each other in the late great johnny bought was a tremendous defensive minded coach man. Yeah so your career is so fascinating to me because you've been part of some of the most interesting teams in NBA history of Jordan. The three peoples. You're part of the Penny Shaq Magic. And then the Shack Koby Lakers. So can I play a little? What if with you because I feel like you're the best person to answer? Some of these guys. I what. What if Nick Anderson Makes Free throw in game one. Against the rockets that would be my fourth championship. You think so really. You think you win that game. You Win that game and you guys and keep the confidence rolling. We win that game. Out Competence. We'll.

"No no no I chalked up to M J having final cut. Yeah no they did they did. Yeah those those series were and we'll get to. I'm sure they'll show the ninety four series which we talked to Horace Grant about how great that series was with all the drama and different things that went on All right let's do before we get to horace grant and WHO's back. We've talked a little. Nfl Andy Dalton Dallas Cowboy. Now do you think this is one a way to get Dak Prescott to the negotiating table or to? This is actually legitimately good move as Andy Dalton as a backup for the cowboys I mean. I think he's probably one of the best backups in the League right now. You'd have a hard time convincing me. Any very very very good backup quarterback. I think it's partially that partially Jerry. Jones likes having a red headed. Backup on squad like he did with Jason Garrett someone that he can he can yell out all the time. I think that it definitely applies some pressure to Dak so Dak is on a one year tag which flory pointed out could be rescinded. I love Mike just stirring the pot mike was like. Do you think that it's occurred to Jerry Jones to just say just tear up the one year franchise tag walk away and say we're Ryan with Andy Dalton this year? I think that's not going to happen. But no it is definitely a little bit of leverage on the Cowboy side. It's it's also a great time to be able to write one of those stories about Andy Dalton going back to Texas. Tcu from Texas. Thanks so we can do the whole storyline there. Yeah WELL IF HE GETS IN IF HE GETS IN A BIG GAME. I just want to be a big game with Jerry. Jones hopes and dreams resting on his shoulders. And just have Jerry Jones like in the in the corner box and maybe have Andy Dalton miked up. That really would just be all I need. You could say don't Miss miked up and not put a microphone on them and just play the silence and be like here it is. Here's any emotional with it. I respect to move on eighty dollars part because I think he probably could have gotten as much if not more money to go down to Jacksonville and reunite with Jay Gruden. But it's it's very clearly move. I want to just go back home to where I'm which I respect the hell out of that back when I was living in Austin I was I was hiring for a job and the stewed came and I was like. Why did you want to apply for this job? And he said He went to Google maps and saw that this office was right next to his house and so he decided to apply to work to be done hired jail because he knew he was going to talk and I would. I would be better than him at the job. But it's I respect that move lot- we can all sympathize with not wanting to have to deal with the commute so anti-dole news happened and then the only other. Nfl News we had was the bears officially decided not to pick up mistress. Ke's fifth year Which I think we all sort of expected. But I'm just going to do this instead of talking about Mitch. Let's just talk about how bad the two thousand seventeen draft was at the top it was myles? Garrett good but also has a temper problem Mitch. Trubisky bad Salman Thomas Bad Leonard. Fournette Bad Corey Davis Pat. Everyone stinks so you know what the bears really just average the average left okay. Well as far as the I five goes yeah. Turns out that the teams that were trapped on Ross. John Ross came to that drafting at the top that your Ross us spends on for it. He's never played approval year. Maybe he's just like a guy that needs that extra motivation. If you don't think I've had the thought that Mitch Trubisky's GonNa Somehow have an incredible year in then like hold bears over the over the negotiating table and just be like pay me and then and then go back to sucking after the bears. Pam like that is of course how it's going to Hap- would you rather that or he kicks ass this year. Then he looks at not getting that fifth years disrespect and then he goes to. Let's say the Lions and then he beat your ass. It's all GONNA end poorly. I don't know how but it went up being good somehow. Speaking Ayers was this. Was this pitcher. Big Ben with the bay a real. I think so. I'M GONNA choose to believe that it's real because he looks like a mountain. I didn't see this. Thanks so then the shit out of a black bear. Oh yeah then. It's definitely real. Because he looks he looks like a dude that has been lost in one hundred retreat for the last eighteen months. Oh Yeah isn't shocking. All that he would take out there. E- could have been an extra in revenue. Oh Dude Big Ben why GonNa kill that Bear Man? You could have been an extra in revenue as a bear talks. I feel bad for that bear. He's like the bears like looking right in our face like Yo what's up. Tubes dead occurred to me the other day the only time we get upset about a big animal getting killed as if the animal had a name beforehand will yeah lion are sweet prince. Tony Sweet Prints Dude I. I didn't I totally didn't realize this but do you realize it. Slim Bowler had his golf clubs in his courtroom sketch. He can't often lamps into the courtroom was wearing his. That is so fucking courtrooms. I don't I mean that's unbelievable or was that like was that the artists taunting him like like Alexander Ovechkin getting bouncing the playoffs and they draw with his golf clubs. So fucking funny. That's awesome. That's that's better than Tom Brady. Courtroom Sketch Slim Bowler to that kind of trouble from from the word. Go I gotta take been squatting on for a second. I think the Times writes unleash it with your permission. I will go to deploy. I think Blake Bortles is being blackballed by the NFL. Because he drives a tesla and because the league sponsors are motor oil companies castrol heavily other competing rivals against Elon. Musk and Tesla he's GonNa get a job. He's probably if Knowing Blake. He probably has a contract sitting on his kitchen table. Just hasn't gotten around to signing it like us in the premiered Lacrosse league contracts. Exactly yeah that's talks lesson. Yeah he's GONNA BE FINE. I always not getting blackballed no-fence bald. Yeah all right. Let's get to our. Who's back before.

"May the force be with you. Oh Shit let's go on even a star wars guy and may remember that joke wait consecutive part of my takes. Who went from it's going to be May to May the fourth be with you Dan. That's pretty that school soon. Shadow Robbie Fox. He's probably so pissed it. We're not all in the office today. So you can't say drop that line to everyone All right we have awesome. Awesome show for you horace. Grant coming up Little NFL talk coming up little. Who's back billy? But before that we're going to review episodes five and six of the last dance now do a chronological because as much as I want to start with the gambling stuff so we don't get confused. Let's try to keep chronological order. And we'll start with the Dream Team and basically I would say. What would you if you had break it down Michael Jordan doing this documentary fifty percent to remind everyone in the world that Michael Jordan's a goat and Lebron like he's still better than Lebron and fifty percent. Just shit down. Isiah Thomas yes I was GonNa say I think that part of him finally releasing this footage? What twenty two years later is gesture? Thomas that he was not on the Dream Team because he didn't shake his hand after that playoff series and later was on that team. How how out of place do you think Christian Leitner felt at that practice he probably knew? Better cruise liners probably on the sidelines. Just like knowing not even try to sub himself into the game. Oh it's it's been said it's been talked about that. Like Jay said like no matter. What team Christian Late Resolve Leitner was on? They would always lose like no matter. What because he was that bad in that far out of like in the deep end when it came to how good this team was the the monte-carlo practice is something that I don't. I think someone has the full unedited tape and I don't know why we can't watch it like it makes no sense unless something has been set in it. That can't be taken back but it's crazy because it actually is the exact moment of course. Mj had already won two titles. But it's the exact moment where the torch really gets passed because you see magic being still my team. That happens and he's like well. I guess it's not my team anymore. Yeah imagine taking a torch out of practice like we're not talking about an NBA finals. We're not talking about a playoff series. Michael Jordan took the torch during a practice session and it went shock me at all. If Michael Jordan had paid players on Christian lateness team to lose every single practice game just so that they could go back and say like. Hey I'd say you could have been on the team instead of Christian Leitner and yet we're but yeah that that practice was I'd heard stories about it before had seen this much footage of it yet. the footage has to exist it. Actually if you WanNa get our conspiracy theorists had on I wouldn't put it out of their own possibility that Lebron James Purchase. That film like he purchase the film of getting dunked on at the Nike Camp and just burned. It's that people would know. Just truly how great Michael Jordan was. There's a longer version on YouTube. I've watched and I. I know that it does exist. I don't know why we can't watch the whole thing. There's gotta be a reason or maybe like now it'd be the time to let us see the whole thing but I would say it's probably the greatest greatest practices of all time and then the the other stories the Olympics The Tony Coach. I so we have. We have the Michael Jordan Grudge meter that we've been doing the last couple of episodes after these last dance. He has a full list tonight. the Tony coup coach. Where basically Jerry Krause ever had is for anyone ever Michael Jordan's basically I'm GonNa Destroy Your Life and that first game gets Tony. Coup coach when cude coaches like. I didn't even know we were playing that hard Jordan pippen guarding him and just like dunking on him and everything and then pippen with just the ruthless like yeah. He can't even play in the NBA because he was mad. Jerry Krause going to pay him more than he was paying. That was great and then I just remember that. Dream Team was such. It was such a joke. How much better they were than everyone. It was so so say they did lose one. Game to a scrimmage to a college all star team where I think Chuck. Daly didn't even play. Mj Just to prove the point like you guys need. You guys could lose to anyone. But they couldn't lose to anyone they they didn't take time out in the entire Olympics. It's incredible how good that team was like. It occurred to me while I'm watching this that there's so many people out there whose best moments in their lives are getting your ass kicked by Michael Jordan. They're probably three thousand people that looking back on their deathbeds. You remember when Michael Jordan has absolutely dominated me. That was pretty cool so so speaking of that. Because I went to look up I was trying to find some stories. It's faith doesn't shut up. Well true it's true. It's that's it's a great point because I thought about this when I was watching. Croatia dockage seems like. It's a Croatian name. Could he have played for Croatian in those Olympics and come in as like Jordan stopper? I don't think he was good enough. I mean totally. Kukoc was fucking really good player in Croatia was actually like. I mean they were world's worst then USA but they were better than everyone else So I went and looked up No offense dockage. But that's just yeah. He's not an NBA NBA caliber player. Europe caliber player I went back and I looked because there's a bunch of famous stories about how. Mj would play thirty six holes before these games in not even care. I found I found one that I had never seen before from Charles Barkley. I think he told recently. And it's basically. Mj rolled up all everything you just said. Pf Tea like the amount of people out there who are like my best is getting smoked by him. Yes so it was a A Marie what would chuck Chuck said he said The the play eighteen in Chuck Daly says okay. That was a great time and Michael says nominee go play another eighteen and Barkley says. I'm like Michael. We got a game tonight. He says Chuck. I'll be fine blah blah blah. So Michael comes back after playing another eighteen. We're getting ready for the game and Chuck Says Charles. You've got this Guy Scotty. Pippin you've got this guy and then Michael says. Nah I got him. It was the point guard from Puerto Rico and Chuck says well. He's a point guard. Michael Michael looks at him and says I said I got him. I read something he said about me and the newspaper and I got him and the whole rooms like dude. You just played thirty six holes of golf and you'RE GONNA guard the point guard. Michael would not let us this little do dribble. He played thirty six holes. And he's talking to the guy the whole time like hey. Don't you ever talk about me publicly again? I'm Michael Jordan. Don't you ever talk about me? That is a practice scrimmage game against Puerto Rico. We gotta look up and find out exactly what the guy said because my guess is the different. Puerto Rico is a cab. Michael Jordan's the best player of all time. But he's human or something not always like that you know like anything can happen and yeah Jordan had he was at a level where you had to invent all these rivals that weren't actually rivals to just so he could get motivated to go out and beat. Somebody's ass right like you know we've been practicing really hard. Michael Jordan's the greatest of all time. But we can't go in there and be intimidated by him. Yeah Yeah no. I got the sky so so the other also Harvey Schiller is on the grudge meter. That just random clippers. Harvard shows a real Dick Right before I'm Jay. Polls the classic move of the flag over the Reebok which I'm sure would have been. It was a controversy back then because there was nothing to talk about in terms of the Games but today it would have been like insane. No people were flipped out. It also got reebok a lot of action on social media tonight. Like how many impressions did they get? Just based off Michael Jordan Hawking a back in Nineteen ninety-two also how about Adidas? Listen TO 'EM J B like yeah. Adidas was number one but they literally couldn't make shoe and stuff that that's tough if you're an executive Leibel All right so the other part of the episode. Five which is very interesting was the political stuff and The famous Republicans buy sneakers to which? Mj says it was a joke. And Sam Smith has since many times been like. Yeah he said it in jest but it became something like a lot bigger I actually I don't know what your take tea but you can criticize. Mj for never being an activist but the one thing that he has always done is he's been pretty true to himself and that he's like this is kind of how I feel and how I'm going to do it and it doesn't feel fake at any point I I agree so you can. You can always point from the outside and be like. I wish this person say more about this or that. But it's tough to tell somebody like what to do when you're in their shoes like that that's a completely different thing. If you just want to keep to yourself and go your business. His life was not as a politician. His public life was not as a policymaker or as somebody who who stood out there for for social. His job was a basketball player. And if he didn't feel comfortable doing that I've always found it tough to criticize somebody for not kind of going out of their lane a little bit if it's not important enough to them to do it it's actually a it speaks to the greater like theme of these two episodes that people wanted MJ to fit in a perfect like box and they wanted him to be the perfect guy and everything and they want him to be as politically activist Mohammed Ali and they wanted him to not have a gambling problem and all these things and it's like but he he's kind of been open with how human he is like. These are the things I like and these are things I'm not going to do. And Yeah you could say someone with that platform more. Speak up more. But at the same time he's always been consistent with that's how he's GonNa Approach it. Yeah and if you're if that's the route that you want to take in public life I find it hard to criticize somebody for not saying. Would I wish they would say does that? Make s like let the person be themselves a little bit. I didn't realize because I I guess I haven't paid that much before but I didn't know that the dude is running against Jesse Helms. Which very very racist that. I think is the part that makes it like. Hey come on Jay. If there's ever a time that you could speak up this is the time where he didn't want to offend the air monarch the future air monarch shoe owners of America right but again. I'm not going to tell someone how to what they should and shouldn't do when it comes to just because they're famous basketball player and he doesn't you know I I just have always his consistency with it. At least if you went back and forth and did it when it was convenient for him. I'd have a bigger problem with just being like either you are. You aren't yeah. It's an interesting set of because Michael Jordan was the most famous person in the entire world. Probably for ten or fifteen years. And it's like what does somebody can't somebody like that exist without taking a stand on public platform issues and he he just kinda chose to keep to himself and focus on what was important to him and like you know. Of course. There are certain things that people wish he would have done differently. But I'm not going to be like no Michael Jordan from my perspective showed and this and that because it's really easy for me to say right so That was interesting though. I thought that was the first time in the documentary where it was starting to get into a territory where it's like. Hey He's not perfect you know and it's interesting because there were maybe some people criticizing that it was Well I saw Ken Burns. Who like who is heard from Ken? Burns in the last twenty years said that it was too much of a puff piece was like. Why don't you let the whole ten ten episodes come out and let's then judge it and this is. This was pretty honest that he you know people were not happy with Jay for this and then we have the other moment were in episode. Six people are going after I gambling. I've never related to anyone more than Michael Jordan saying. I don't have a gambling problem. I can stop whenever I want knowing that. He still to this day and he doesn't want to stop in. He has not wanted to stop. He doesn't have to and David stearns quote. It was something along. The lines of his gambling. Issue was never an epic crisis of a problem like adding two qualifiers on their like news. Very bad problem. What again this is on a sliding scale through Michael Jordan richest shit and like. You said his family's not starving. His kids aren't starving. That's what it would be a problem. Then I guess. He didn't have a gambling problem he had A. He had a problem when he would lose gambling. Because more your competition probably said he just wanted to compete. DoesN'T WANNA compete. If you know Jerry. Curled Security Guard wouldn't have beat them in the throwing the quarter against the wall competition. Then he wouldn't have to gamble against that guy for the rest of his life until he made that money back. That's shrug was so great. That was such a great behind the scenes. Moment right there. That's shrug was all time Connie Chung by the way I fucking. I miss those interviews in the nineties when they did like the soft focus on the camera so everything was a little bit blurred and she dropped the You know people are saying You're gambling with your reputation. He was like what what do you. What do you mean like? What are you fucking talking about? I like blackjack and I'd like to lose a Shitload of money. Because they think I'm better at golf than I am all alone on all losing five six figures at a time..
