No, I'm okay with somebody taking a charger that has been behind the lobby desk for years. We don't know how long it's been there. You know, Uh, if you work in an office, you want to go through somebody's desk? Just have an empty stapler in your hand when you do it. In that way you could say I was looking for Staples. Um, this'll is a good one. Everybody can do this looking for a little extra money these days. Just sell store bought honey in glass jars in front of your house. The markup is huge. That's true, too, Because people think that all you have Ah, honey hive out back or you put some label on it. Oh, this is something so the honey from my farm? Yeah. One last one last one today, If.

Take A Trip To The Island Of Crete

"Let's start today's show with a look at what you can find when you visit the largest of the greek islands crete. It's where the earliest advanced civilizations in europe were found more than four thousand years ago. We're joined by greek travel. Experts david and anastacia guy tanu. Our conversation was recorded prior to the covid. Pandemic closures david. How're cretans. The people who live on crete different from greeks and their outlook. I don't think there's a proud of person to be found in greece than creighton. Credence are extremely proud of their long history. There island and they're wonderful food. The people from crete really see themselves as being a little bit different to the people from the greek mainland anesthesia. When you think of the pride of crete people and the traditions. How does that survive in their dress. In the way the look when we travel there you can find that still worn by older people in the largest cities bad. You find it definitely in out in the country and in small villages and the further up you go on the mountains the more you find that and you have this. Very particular scoff. That they were on their head. It's black of course and usually there is also big moustache underneath definitely because that's Masculine thing and they have a black shirt in. They have brown trousers. That up. The very distinct and to create and usually black boots and i was struck when i went to crete that these traditions survive more there than elsewhere in europe. I mean everything's becoming modern in the same issue travel around more and more but increased. You do find those traditions alive David i was an increase just last june and having been there for a while i was wondering with ride. See some of these things like the old britches and the long boots and the the coach but to my great surprise they have not disappeared in fact they've now become trendy and symbols for the young symbols for the young. Would that be. Is that sort of an expression of independence. I think it's because they see themselves different and they wanted to let people know that they're proud of their traditions. There's lot of guns returned. There used to be synonymous with crate guns. But you see less of these days although when you go walking plenty of cartridges from the hunting season is that right what would they be hunting farm firm and anything that moves birds. Rabbits has if you're an athens. How easy is it to get down to create. It couldn't be more simple because there's Boats that do the trip overnight. And there's lots of lights with a gna so let's see you got five days crete. What would you do david. If you're helping me plan my very if going have five days. I would stick to the north and i would stick to iraq leo which is the capital and access point fo the famous minoan palace of knossos. And then i would go across honey. Which is the second city on crete. And it's just a beautiful Old venetian city from honey. Can't you go up to the top of the mountain in hike down the gorge of samaria. Have you ever had that. yes i have. what's it like. well you have a very long descend and the beginning. It's in kilometers about four kilometers to go down. You just go down a winding backing back inbound down and then you move through the gorge. But they're really beautiful spots at that gorge in you meet people. There are people there. There is once goal the gate in the result shepherd they who knows of course every guide and every person who goes often through that gorge unusually. He has cheese. And if you know you can well he can bring some other stuff out as well and you see. Also a lot of the very unique flora and fauna of crete and the. Raise your liking usually. You're uc wild ibex. That they have their only on crete and has a very funny name. Actually it's called click critically. Can i xe david. If i remember correctly the tourist generally catch a minibus or something up for the almost like at sunrise and then they walk switch backing down then. They have a long hike along the river with little places to swim along the way they reach a very very narrow part in the gorge where you can almost stretch your arms out and touch either of the sheer cliffs and then at the bottom you have a beautiful remote beach and boat waiting to take you to the next town from where you catch the shuttle bus back to your home. Base is still basically the routine that is still the routine la. They have come up with an alternative for the lazy person who does not want to do the whole walk. You can take a boat to. I think it's really the base of the gorge and you can do what they say. The gorge short way. When you simply walk up to the iron gates and walk back again undone to all the other stuff okay. So there is for the quick tourist and for the person wants to spend a little more

He calls Sharna Burgess and amazing, considerate, loving, kind person. And I just thought like the considerate piece was kind of an interesting choice of words. Like I said, I'm going to nit pick. Considerate is a word that you use to describe a child may be like, Oh, there's such a kind and considerate person. Or it's like a report card word, but I don't hear that word and think that's something you say about the person who you've fallen in love with unless you're trying to say. You've done some really neat things in your healthcare career and you know before we jump into the actual details of what we're gonna talk about. I love to hear more about you than and what what keeps you inspired in in your healthcare career. I think that being a background and being a nurse And washing with the front lines going for and doing on a daily basis especially in the face of i think every day i wake up. I'm inspired by those nurses to go out selflessly to transform and take care of individuals that most of I would wonder if we would cross that. Threshold and nursing was a second career choice for me in life and it was inspired because my mom really encouraged me to pursue nursing. Because she said that. Although there's a whole bunch of great leaders in other areas we needed really strong nursing leadership to sort of transform the future of the profession. And i took it very seriously after becoming immersed in watching certain challenges that was basically in the profession. I don't know if you know. Some of the statistics but percents of nursing graduates leave the bedside within two years of practice which is nearly the largest exodus of any profession out there and we are facing potential nursing shortage of vermillion nurses in the united states. And i think what motivates me is. How can we stop that accident. And how can we secure this profession at the future of healthcare And i think. I'm still motivated by both that here that there may not be nurses by the bedside in the future as much as i am inspired to transform. What a career for nursing. Looks like that me inspire the best to choose that profession debt. And you know. I wasn't aware that's a. That's a pretty big number of of nurses leaving and also want to say thanks to all the nurses listening or if you have somebody in your family your friends that are nurses at the front line. As as rebecca mentioned it's tough and especially during this pandemic The importance of what you do is critical so so yeah let's kick things off with a thank you and yes a rebecca. Why why so many people like white white is so many people eat nursing. Yeah there's there's some interesting study that are being collaborated on this entire thing. Why thirty to fifty percent of them are leaving the bedside within cheers of practice and my dad asked me this question. He that he the. Cfo honey when you graduated with your finance degree. Were you expecting to carry the same level of responsibility as cfo laughed and he instead. Of course not. And i said well welcomes the world of nursing where you graduate you enter the profession and not only. Are you carrying an incredible boat and patience upon you. But you're expected to carry the same kind of patient and responsibility as nurses with thirty or fifty years of experience. So i think one is incredible dichotomy of being put into a world. Where even if you have little training you're going to deal with those two patients. And then secondly i think one of the biggest factors is that the profession of nursing if you call it a profession has not been cultivated along a career progression and think younger nurses that are entering the profession realized. I don't know if you've noticed. But over course a twenty year career the average increase of salary of nurses only one point five percents a year which is half the cost of the increase in wages or salaries on the average american But more importantly there is no career development. So it's not as though when you start out as financial assistance and you progress ups eventual pointed the being the cfo and nursing. The first day of your career can very much look like the last day of your career thirty years later and i think that because healthcare has focused a very long time that the roles of nurses are to be by the bedside and that that job that has driven position is not in and of itself that they've never focused on. What are the career and the ambitions of the nurse by the bedside new ford so suddenly two years into a nurse his career. They're working in day night holiday weekend rotation they've had an increase of salary of about three percent and of them are patients that are constantly dying or sick and being called to work in and they don't know where their career is going in comparison to the friends that they have chosen other careers. Who are working monday through friday. Have five weeks of vacation and are steaming. The world where these nurses aren't sure what's going on. I think there's a couple downwards playing trends. But i think those are two of the largest.

Emerging Opportunities and Exciting Business Lessons with John-Paul Iwuoha

"Now. We are talking about africa. I wanna know john paul. Why why do we need to keep africa on our radar very interesting question. So one one thing that keeps me. Loyal to entrepreneurs on fire is the quality of stories and experiences of ultra preneurs. Who've made it that's one big reason. Why listen and. I'm also sure that's why many people listen to the show but interesting is what being on entrepreneur means that you're able to live in the now and also prepare for future so it's almost impossible to think about the future and nothing about and here's why when you look at the population of the world. Africa correctly has the youngest population of people. Right now sixty percents of people on the continent of the age of twenty five. So this is more or less looking at china. Before china became china up to date china more or less the second biggest economy in the world the factory of the world and all of that so you can imagine that people who saw china. The china became china. Actually the ones who got in on the meat of the game. So that's exactly what africa represents but more importantly there have been events in the past couple of years that have put africa in the centerpiece. The very most the most recent one which is very interesting is covid now all the time most companies have built their supply chains around china and south east asia but then when it hits it was obvious that supply chains with very vulnerable. And if you're going to diversify your supply chain. It's impossible not to look at africa if you're looking at affordable label if you look at them. The truck symmetry of the continental either north america or europe. And what are the means. Most countries on the continent either speak english or french and these are more or less global line. Which is you're going to penetrate any of the big markets and. It's really now happening. Because what the chinese are doing is the chinese. Market is starting to specialize in advanced high-tech stuff. I most of those low cost production that brought business the whole of storing from america. When are beginning to see going to places like vietnam. Bangladesh and other countries in southeast asia. But then you cannot forgo a population of one point three billion people which is what africa presents and what we're seeing is some companies setup accretions within the african continent places like rwanda at the opium ghana senegal. And what they're doing is they are preparing. These guys are digging for the future and one interesting. That's happened in the last four years in america. Is the people in africa. So in america when you think about africa the image that comes to mind is charity and philanthropy. Africa needs. Needs help and help and help. So the approach of the americans this time and even europe has been to help africa give africa aid. Give them all of that. What the chinese are doing is they're coming with more or less trade and business and things. What africa needs really because you have this population of very young people enterprising people. I mentioned that sixty percent of the world's uncle beats at arable. Land is in africa so in most parts of the world with maxed out the land space. Yes we're doing. We're using technology and other means to increase the yield on the land. But when we're talking about virgin space. Federal land arable land. Most of it is still in africa. Still cultivated and we're looking at a global population that is set to double back at least by the time we reach two hundred fifty or more according to the un and if we do not keep pace with globe with population growth would amount of food were producing then the world is going to be faced with serious threat of hunger so these are just a few examples of why africa needs to be on your rita. Yes so thinking about now. It's great but you're thinking about the future you need to remember that even before could hit five of the top. The top ten fastest growing economies in the world when africa. These are not really things. We've seen the mainstream media. Why i'm happy that chain. Is that the approach of the chinese in africa. Doo controversial is a big difference. This guy's coming here boots on the ground and they're dealing with the market. The previous relationship with africa has been to deal with africa's governments give african governments money for age and they develop africa unfulfilled years. It's never happened instead. It's helped enhance corruption. A sense of entitlement and dependency so most of the problems never get so because that's free money free money fluent in from europe money flowing in from north america so what people like us exist to do is to show that the people we should be voting. For with our money is the entrepreneur's they're the ones who have the incentive and the motivation to really solve africa's problems and guess what's global money starting to call me and i'm sure many ago minova listeners. On on on entrepreneur no stripe the big global player in in payments strike just acquired an african company. Niger company for two hundred million dollars. That's a major exit and it's stories like this that are starting to prove that africa is not a charity case. Africa is opportunity. The programs are trying to solve through eight. Actually need to be solved through entrepreneurship and the process. We create more jobs more wealth and greeted big happier world john. Let's talk about what you see as the most interesting opportunities that exist right now. I mean you talked about a lot of opportunities. I love how you really are hammering home. The fact that entrepreneurship is what is going to turn africa around and really bring that continents into the as we move forward into twenty twenty one and beyond but specifically what are the one or two most interesting and fascinating opportunities in the business world that you're seeing right now. The first interesting one is more or less. I talked about it earlier. In terms of africa's potential to produce food because right now we're looking for the next food basket of the world and one interesting that africa offers is the or what's we've we now know as superfoods so for example there's a grain that's grown in west africa. It's a green code for new now. This green is so rich in cultural significance for example when the tombs of ancient in jim ships are more or less opel excavated amongst other materials. Like honey. and things like that four new for new f- who is one of the greens that it that the ancient egyptians actually put in the the pyramids in the borough chambers of dead feroz. That's tell you how important it was back. Then this is like one of the longest growth one of the greens has been grown the longest in history almost five thousand years now. The reason why new is important is when you look at the american market and european market more or less developed world and you see how important health and wellness is this all about eighteen. Organic food. Gluten free food and things like that you announced that to see if like for new is actually superfood but in africa is grown by people in africa eating by people that i start to see what america has done with them a green assira like we know what which is more or less breakfast zero before quinoa became like a blockbuster serial in america it had the same profile as phone. You in south america. So what we're beginning to see. Is they celebrate to ship in. New york is named spear pm. He's now taken for neo his packaged. It's not just in its physical formats but in the narrative that used salads and last year. I think it's early this year. It got the national distribution across the united states in whole foods. You know to distribute this kind of food and new just one. I know listeners may be familiar with moringa which is another superfood. it grows in the wild in africa. We really take you for granted over yet. But then we've sent entrepreneurs coming here and repackage it into something that selling like a lot because it resonates resonates with the health and wellness movements the big trend going on in the

Perfectly Imperfect Marriages

"Pinterest is good but we are so pin us to whatever you pin things to on pinterest. Valentine's day is coming. It is romantic time now. I have you planned our valentine's yet. Don't we kinda planet together. Yeah yeah we brainstorm ideas and then you take care of everything before i got a chance to. I kind of thought that maybe it is on the site for me other than like what we planned. Okay is this one of those where you gave me mixed messages. We should talk about mixed messages. Angry will yeah so we have a jam packed episode for you guys today so make sure you stick around. So the first thing we're going to talk about today is perfectly imperfect couples in marriages and how you can make your marriage better and happier with this idea with this understanding. What do you like to say that people are messy. Yes yes so. No one's going to be perfect. They're perfectly imperfect they are and we're going to tailor your valentine's day around that because that's realistic rain in your spouse's perfect is not realistic now. So we're to of talk about being okay and understanding about you. Being imperfect your spouse being per imperfect and your marriage being imperfect and some of the things that we do that. We don't realize that we do that kind of hurts our marriage. And then we're going to talk about how to admire your spouse more often and in a meaningful way. And not just on those special educations and then lastly we've got the ultimate gift proof guide so pay attention to that. We are going to talk about how to rethink not fail and dodge the double edged swords of gift giving for your spouse. Yeah we're going to get into things like procrastinating and spouses. That aren't too clear on what they want for valentine's day spouses who are just plain awful gift givers and why shouldn't just wait till valentine's day to admire and appreciate your spouse. Yes i think. I said that i'm saying it again. Okay and also. We've got some really great tips for spouses. Who just really need a little bit of help and some ways that you can teach your response to be a better gift giver and loving way. Yeah yeah your spouses and get to know everything about you. They're not psychic. And it's not really fair for you to expect them to be able to know what you want especially given a mixed signals. But i get ahead of ourselves here. Yeah 'cause you struggled with that for a long time. God did i and you you to be honest. Were given me kind of mixed messages. Expected me to be psychic and land. And it's it's one of those unfair games couple. Sometimes planet comes from a place of wanting to know that your spouse knows you and wanting to know that they'll be able to use their intuition to figure things out without you having to tell them because sometimes we feel like we shouldn't have to tell our spouse but are they gonna know if we don't let them know well and it wasn't always facetious. I mean there were times where i just really wanted you to run with it. I really just wanted you to do it on your own and it meant a lot to me for you to come up with it on your own and i didn't wanna have to sit there and give you a roadmap of do this then not that i just wanted it to come from you and that's what we're going to talk about james clarifying that something. Where the the meaning behind the gift can be more important than the actual gift. Yes but there are people whose love language is receiving gifts so f. That's a whole different story so we'll go out all into that. Let's start with being perfectly imperfect. Honey you're perfectly imperfect you messed up on valentine's didn't you know didn't ladies and gentlemen because i let her help planet. That's i at least know that it's going to be good. I think we're all really comfortable with the idea. And i thought that it's okay to me imperfect and i think we all pretty much have a really good understanding. We're not perfect. And neither is our spouse her marriage. Well i think some people fall into the trap of understanding that they themselves aren't perfect and they're okay with it but they're kind of maybe subconsciously expecting their spouse to be perfect Maybe not perfect but maybe more like them and or maybe more in tune with what society and popular culture says that their spouse should be. Yeah one of the things. The traps that i fell into a lot. You know when you're struggling in your marriage and you're looking for resources and you know you're just kind of browsing online and you know you're looking for some great tips or some great help or advice or just something that maybe you don't know that can really help your marriage when you're going through struggles. It always caught my attention and they do it intentionally. Is those titles like how to know. Your husband's a healthy has been seven. Sure signs that they're cheating on you right or the ten ways that you know he's lying or how to know when your wife isn't her money spending with like there was just all these like catch him. Titles i sure fire cookie-cutter yeah cookie cutter straight to the point. You know just very clear signs that these things are occurring in your marriage whether it's lying

Unpacking The Challenges of Geotargeting

"Where is your target going. What's the next stage of this tool talk about it. I brought in a super knowledgeable guy on the topic jason hansen. Here's what he had to say. So jason thank you so much for joining me today on the first recorded episode that we've done so far when i introduce you a little bit so i met jason when i was working at barometric Jason works at rapa by that is a gig economy ad platform and they're very performance driven. So why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself and about ratify. Hey i thanks for having me as as we were joking about earlier I'm setting the bar low so your guests are only gonna get better from there to listen to this journey that you're on but it really fascinating what you're doing in the focusing on podcasting. It's just such in the early stages. And i'm a fan so i'm i'm looking forward to it as as a a listener to your show. So thanks for having me ratify to trapper fiber. You mentioned it where gig economy ad platform. So we're what we do. Is we match. Where advertisers want to reach. Based on the demographics are targeting in a specific market we press a button in that source that campaign zone sources drivers so whether uber drivers lift drivers jordache postmates. What have you it. Sources drivers that drive in that area in. We put ads on their cars. And then there's a whole way that we we measure attribution which. I'm sure we'll get into a little bit but not to pitch rapper fi but just talking about how we use location data to deliver that to our advertisers But our goal is taking. This is a very old school medium out of home. We've been doing it ever since we're drawing putting paintings on walls We're caveman and we're gonna take this this this old school medium. That's out in the real world and bring it into the digital space. Can we measure attribution. Can we make it more digital. Yeah and that's exactly why. I wanted to have you on the show. I appreciate you not doing the full pitch and all that but the the truth is that have a really great background. First off. you started in radio and second rapa fees auto home. which is you know. The subject of this episode is related to the geo location article that i wrote and in podcasting we get showed little information to do any sort of lookout and for geo the only thing we get his ip address and so with ratify. I kind of wanted to hear like what data you guys get. How you do g look and then kind of turn on and see what you could do with a little bit less like what is what does that world look like. Yeah i think there's some great correlations there really are model. We've we've we've started this We started this methodology for attribution on. It's been about two years now. And it's really scratching the surface as far as what data were getting and howard turning it into as close as we can get factual results that our clients see so what we're doing is we're taking the latte. Longitude of our drivers in were matching that with mobile add. Id's of folks. Who are within fifty feet of those vehicles so we partner with data providers that have collected device. Id's through optin. So it's folks who have given up the right to to share their location now. It's we don't collect any personal information but were able we take that that ad. Id and our goal is not. We know we're not going to capture everyone because we're just we're not at that point as a society yet where everyone is traceable. We wanna build up a large enough sample size to say okay in this campaign zone in atlanta for example here is a a large enough sample size of folks who were around these wrapped vehicles and then we want to measure did they take intended action. But what's interesting is we take those device. Id's and this is where we worked together before we would match those device id's with an ip address at their at their house in linking to other devices at their home. Because we know out of home in. It's actually the same with radio. And i would say even the same with podcast to an extent people. Your potential clients aren't taking that action right than in there because they just wanted to listen to what they just wanted to. Listen to joe rogan. They didn't necessarily wanted to go by t or some. You know some software at that moment. But that's why the importance of linking to device ideas at the home. We want to measure. Did they eventually take that intended. Action through the repetition of of seeing the ad on on the road or podcast in which is really interesting You hear the same add enough from you. Think of the godfathers of advertisers mail ship. How many podcast they did they sponsor and you hear it enough what we wanna do is we wanna see. Taking those ip addresses. Did that household eventually. Take the intended action now. There are limits there as reading. Your article really fascinating. I'd love to hear you dive into a little bit. Because i think there are similarities. The limits that ip address supplies to us in the out of home space. What is supplies to podcast advertisers. In your space yes so. Ip is really interesting. Because i did a test in that article and i connected through my home wifi which had me within one kilometer physical address and it and it said it could get up to ten kilometers away but cellular depending on if it was i. Ip b. six or p four had me anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours away. And i think that a lot of people look at chiyo with a mindset different than what you just said which was really cool. Because we're both kind of in mediums that don't have a click right and so when somebody sees an auto home advertisement or listening to a podcast. Add there's nothing to click. They're not gonna go to it immediately. And the focus of that part is that it's more about where the user is at the time that they see it and the proximity or here and the proximity to the action. Right if it's online geo doesn't normally matter. Anybody can hear an ad anybody can see an ad and then go online and find it right. If you're wrapping carso amazon. Or you're telling you're doing a podcast for it but when we were talking a little bit earlier before the show you made a comment about local and i think local such a big thing. That podcast needs to take advantage of that. It's less about. Were they within that ten kilometer radius. That i'm trying to target or more. Are they in a realistic driving. Radius from the car dealership that we're advertising. And i think that people in podcasting trying to emulate digital so much and. I'm sure you have that battle to on your end that it's not necessarily about the ad being physically close to that location. You're trying to drive people to but within the maximum radius that you guys believe will acquire that that lead. Yeah and i'm going to take you to the dinner table. Just as here's how i look at the media mix when you're eating dinner and you have a stake you have sides you have a drink. Maybe you have a salad and the soup. You have several different applications for each of those items. I'm not going to have Oh yeah i just need honey. Just let's just use a bowl put everything in a bowl unless i'm making a dinner smoothie and using a bowl for every single food element you have a bowl for the soup. You have a salad plate. You have a stake on a plate and then you have a fork knife that you use for that stake in a separate like i. I can go too far. I love lucy analogies. Come to me quickly. But we as marketers and advertisers. We love to try to take every medium in morph in that. It has to be the same thing as a google ad. Words like the what we what we get or what we how we apply google ad words. Okay now we have to have the same methodologies and the same results as we would want in podcasting or out of home every medium served. Its own purpose. And it's up to the advertiser to figure out. How does this affect the buyer's journey in. How can i get the most out of it for this segment of the buyer's

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry's Royal Exit 1 Year Later

"Can. You believe it's actually already been a year since. Harry and meghan left royal family. We were obsessed with the huge decision which eventually landed them right here in california but this move also created some major drama and the royal family. It was almost like harry. And william had broken up as brothers so here we are a year later. Let's evaluate. was this a good move for the royal family. This is so scary. Because i feel like whenever we discuss something and we're like it's been two years it's been three years. It makes me realize like how much we're just on this machine and time is just flying by the fact that this was one year ago. I this just happened like two months ago so i have no concept of time. I think this was probably the best mu for her. And i think he's happy about that for his family. Do i think this is the best decision for ham. What do you. i don't think so. I don't mean ooh they haven't done. It's like they've done things. We're not a whole lot. But i also feel happy for them because they probably had a lot more quality family time. They probably would have no listen. They seemed miserable right like when this was going down. They seemed miserable and every little glimpse that they gave. They made sure you saw how miserable they were being a part of the royal family. So i'm happy. They're still out. I think it's probably still for the best. I don't know where you're living are what year you're living in but avenues for you. No one's doing right now. Doing being to be completely honest. And i'm gonna eat my tongue again. I'm going to say that i was wrong. You know. I honestly gave megan grief in the beginning because i just thought the timing was wrong and i thought maybe she should have spent a tiny bit more time but i think what she did was. She did what was best for her. Her family her mental health or growth. And they've been sitting here for a year and they've got a lot done. She has netflix deal. They have that high caste they have that new. Twenty dollar oprah is pushing. They got a house in one of the richest neighborhoods. America's settled next to some of the most influential people so i don't think that she took this year to sit down and lolly gagging moves. Now do i think that they would do it all over again if they knew the pandemic was coming. I don't think so. I think that and settled in that royal family for at least another eight months. Let this pandemic rollover because who wants to move to a new country with. There's nothing to do i. I think you're probably right if this transition happened amidst kobe reading has basically stopped for the entire world so the pressure would have been less on then. They wouldn't have been as many photo opportunities as many things for them to have to go to. And i think that probably would've allowed them to settle into their relationship in a nice way as well. I think that the reason why people have a problem with megan. And i don't at all but i just think she thinks like people think she knew what she was getting into. It was a high pressure job. It was very clear that is not glamorous. There is intense scrutiny by the media especially in britain. But harry has grown up this way and i'm not saying she should give who she is completely and her values and how she wants to live but i just feel like she kind of knew that this was going to happen. Maybe not as bad as it did. But i mean. We knew that they were going to be brutal. We've seen it for years and years and years and years. So i just feel like in the long run to have the husband that you've chosen to marry just be completely ostracized from his family at some point. It's just gonna backfire like this all. He's known for his entire life was born and bred for it so he wanted out. And that's why megan was that person that said honey. We can make this happen. And that's why he fell in love with her. I mean he wanted. I feel like he was never one. That was just excited to be there. You know bit. Let's be real. I could relationship with a woman and go to her and say. Hey i'm gay. I'm not feeling this man. I don't like the. I like the of these things. And in the break-up that woman is still gonna think why was. I not enough. What did i do anytime. There's a break-up whether it's business whether it's family whether it's romantic we always take it and we get butthurt by because we take it personal. I think the royal family is taking miss personal right now but when the dust settles bear going to realize that harry megan did what was best for them

What to expect from NOAA under the Biden administration

"Focus on weather. Forecasting and climate science is likely to be a high priority under president biden and it begins with staffing at the top washington post capital weather gangs. Andrew friedman wrote about the possible scenarios for noah. Hi andrew welcome to climate cast off. Let's talk about the biden cabinet appointments so far one thing that jumps out at me andrew. There are so many with climate expertise and focused john. Kerry as climates are on the national security council. pete buttigieg at transportation jennifer granholm at energy. What do you make of these leaders. Strong climate focus. It doesn't look like an accident to me. Yeah no really. The administration is approaching an all hands on deck strategy for climate change rather than putting that just in the hands of the epa administrator and maybe the energy secretary they're putting that everywhere so you heard their nominee janet yellen for treasury secretary mentioned climate change in her interest speech Also the national economic council chair of brian niece has a significant climate experience. This is really going to cross pollinate the government agencies foreign wide. Honey you think. The new noah leadership will be substantially different than it. Is today you know. The noah leadership under president trump has been competent jacobs who has a phd and is a meteorologist by background. Really knows that issue in really knows the agency warehouse but he was hamstrung and didn't even have the ability to send an all hands email without running it by political appointees at the department of commerce. He wasn't able to pick his top staff including chief-of-staff so really what you're going to see is a administration that thinks the real while. Okay we're going to have this person as administrator what do they need to support them. In these other several roles that are politically appointed. How will climate change science and communications. Be different. i think there's going to be a much greater role They're gonna put more of an emphasis on the national climate assessment which has been something that the trump administration tried to walk away from and then has tried to interfere with. So it's gonna be much more of noah in the lead when it comes to scientific integrity andrew. We all remember sharpie gate. When president trump doctored a hurricane map how will the biden administration sharpie proof noah they need to make some changes to the scientific integrity policy. Because what happened was that episode was judged to have violated their scientific integrity policy but they were absolutely no consequences for it because it doesn't apply to the department of commerce. It applies only to noah so the department of commerce leadership told no they had issued a statement disavowing. they're actually accurate forecast and They weren't punished or so they're going to have to make some changes also though i think whoever is brought in noah leadership is going to come and on day one knowing that they have some morale issues and knowing that the half to reassure people about the scientific integrity of the agency on the premium placed on sound science andrew friedman with washington post capital weather. Gang for sharing your perspective on climate casts. Today thank you for having me.

Managing Your Money In Marriage During Uncertain Times

"Me ask you. You're wonderful husband darnell so often. Money affects marriage. More than almost anything How can we be mindful of how are mismanagement of money is affecting our relationship with our spouse and how do we get in sync with our spouse. Well we're going to have to set some common goals. And that's the fastest way to stop. Because finance is really are the source of contention and most marriages and so we'll say what is our long-term goal. Let me give an example. Let's say one of our goals is just to make sure that we have accumulated at least two to three months of living expenses. Someone whatever we're doing should be driving stories that goal so if somebody's going to run out by some luxury upper end fishing poles. My husband is currently at the fishing example. Here where he is this moment. But you know you have to say now. Is that going to get us towards our goal. Let's let's agree that this is where we're going because how can to walk together unless they agree and so you gotta sit down. Write down and say what's our goal and make every decision. Make sure it's not taking away from your goal. It can be hard but if you really talk about. What's driving yours expenditures. You're gotta find you're going to get on a path to agreement deborah's sometimes that communication can be really difficult in a marriage. I mean you're saying that you're a trained. Cpa and i can imagine it's put a little stretch in your marriage when darnall saying had like this you know this luxury item and you're going honey seriously really and you're giving them that look like you're looking at me right now and i mean so that can either start some friction between you or it's achieving the right goal which is accountability. So how do we make that communication a little easier in our marriage. So it's not abrasive. Well we do it by reminding ourselves. What the goal has been so darn out at me. We know that we're gonna pay ten percent of our income to the church sell. That goal has been met. We know that we're gonna need. We would like six months living expenses in the bank in that sounds excessive in this environment especially with everything being cancelled but we also have a formula. We saw we spend some we save some. Those are three s. When i say we so some we give to others. We make that a priority give to the church and then we know that we save some and darnall reminds me all the time. We can't save it all say all of it and i'm thinking yes but you know i know. They have six months in the bag. But i want to years suppose. We can't work with two years with that doesn't make sense. I know it doesn't win. In my head i have to peel. The onion was causing you to think that you can't trust god that there's going to be such a shortfall that you're going to have to hoard money and so you know you have to be truthful about that and i know them. I was driven by the fact that i had a mother that was not empowered at bothered. That was abusive. And so i saw her not ever have enough money. And i kinda about inwardly that. I'd never been in a position where never had enough money that i couldn't put my hands on money and runaway. If there was abuse so you you have to understand what's driving those financial mindset that i mean that's powerful that statement. The things you learn is a child those Pains end up being your passions. Like so many say. And that's what you're describing.
