"The plans and give the feedback and, you know, I mean, even with the downtown revitalization and renovations there was even while talking about the Central Avenue renovations. There was a lot of, you know, open, you know, Meetings come and give feedback. And so you know whom would I feel like, has always been very open with the projects that they're due in. And so they will have that opportunity with this one as well. Absolutely. I mean, the very first meeting that we had, which was actually Last week. The city hall room was full of absolutely full for the first meeting. So I mean, I'm looking forward to the fact that the next three I know, one of them will be a city hall again. But the other two, I think they're going to try and move to other spots of Homewood to give other people opportunity that don't make me not want to come to City Hall. The ability to do that, But they can also, you know, reach out to whoever their council person is and just say, you know, here's my opinion on this or whatever, and we'll make sure it gets toe do what needs to get to so Yeah, I know one thing that I guess people will probably have a conversation with about is if you do have apartments. Is there enough space in the schools? So you know, that's probably gonna be some of the feedback I would imagine. So that's probably better question for the school board. Yeah, well, and but I will say this based off of the conversation that we had at the first meeting that was actually one of the questions. And based off of what they're the group. That's that's put proposed. This plan has said that you know this. These are not going to be necessarily the type of apartments that are going to be family or your family or in an apartment Cesaire going to be, you know, Highest of scale and their aim and for you know, young professional at the hospitals and everything, just like you just said so. It's you know, I don't think that you know, not to mention the fact that all of the renovations that we've done through the school system over the past, you know, five or six years. You know, we've we've built that out to last us for a long time. So it's not like we're going to be hitting some sort of threshold here. Just just from, you know something small like that's right. Yeah, well, I love that you're investing in the future. Yeah, And I mean, we've got so many kids in Homewood are there other brothers because they're telling it like it like you've gotta have 7.2 Children to live there now. It probably is an average per household. I don't know what that would be, but I've only got three. So we're behind. You gotta pick up a sentence. I'm the low man on the totem pole is this hacks only got Tio. I don't know what he's doing. I'm giving you so, But, you know, with the recent election where there was, you know, then come back and to you know yourself and another person that was going for mayor and it seemed like it got A lot of our community out about talking. So what do you think? You know, the impact of that is going to be since it seemed like a renewed interest in our city and what is going on? Absolutely. And I think you know what, Of course, you know I can't look behind me. But we all know what's going on nationally and you know, there's They're just a renewed interest in people you know, have conversations anyway, not to mention the fact that social media has taken over Everybody's lives like it has. But I think I think the ability to have information to hear information instantaneously has has brought a lot more people to the forefront. And the simple fact that you know it was. It was such a good campaign, but it was a long campaign because there was a run off. So you're talking about even more extended time. But you know, one of the good things that did come from. It simply was the fact that I think there's going to be a lot more people that are going to be engaged and want to be engaged in what's going on in their cities. And it's not just home. What it's everywhere else. And then, you know. Hey, we need to be paying attention. Because, you know, we're all looking towards the future. And, you know, home Woods specifically, you know, when I started on the City Council 12 years ago, you know the average age and Homewood was probably Low fifties. Something like that Now it's like 33. Is that right? Yeah, so I mean, it's you know, it's it's a very young city. So everybody that's coming in is warning to. Hey, listen, I'm planning on being here for a really, really long time there. Yeah, yeah. Well, I think you know, from years past, a lot of folks would because there was not like larger homes and O r maybe upper upper tier homes. A lot of people would would grow up in Homewood and then by middle or high school moved to a different area will now especially over. It seems like the last 10 15 years. There's been a lot of infill created. A lot of people blow in the roofs. A lot of renovations happening so people are really investing in absolutely investing in their house is planning on being in the city along, and so I'm sure that even the high school scene a big impact on that. Oh, yeah, absolutely. My son's a freshman this year, and he's one of the larger classes to come through and You know, there are larger classes that are coming behind him. Yeah, that's interesting. How money So how many did you graduate with? I graduated. What? I think it was like 2 80 coming in his class. You know, I want to say he's around 3 40 interesting credo. But I mean, it's you know, there's 340 linens, his homeroom class in middle school. I mean, I dropped off this morning, then like we're it's like it's like her. It's just like a sea of Children. Lord of the flaws in their grief, so that's too funny. Um, well, you know somewhat. What are some of your plans for the city? What? What's kind of B? You know, you're kind of drinking from a fire hose. But, like, screw it up with the train on the tracks. That's a great thing. Well, no, I mean, luckily, you know, having been on the council for 12 years and and following Scotland, Breyer and he did a wonderful job. And the city is in great shape, so there's not necessarily anything we need to fix right now. But it's just It's It's looking more towards that future and you know what's going to be the best opportunity for home was so you know, A couple of the things that were seriously focusing on is one looking at the city manager. Position because there does need to be. You know somebody who is, you know? Yes. More of Ah, professional that would would be at city Hall. You know all the time to be able, because, you know, I still have a regular job. A cz? Well, Azaz doing this. And But I think city manager is a is an incredibly important thing that we're we're going to be looking at. And that I will at some point after you know, I've already had some meetings, but I'll be bringing something back to the council at some point. Hopefully, the beginning of next year. We're really looking at the continuing process of more sidewalks, because I mean the walkability, which I know J. Earlier. Is something that you know is such a benefit to people and you.

"Racist. in an I posted a video of a community activist. so when we talk in the community about getting together and working together and community businesses and the committee needs to be better and then the so called leaders in the community go out and ask folks to kill someone. I ask you what's the benefit to the community. and for folks who say this video doesn't matter. okay which is a democratic committeewoman. she has a group where she promises to engage teenagers and help them to make the right decisions in life. and she is telling people and I quote. two people were shot in Homewood today this is verbatim. all these killers out here. we need some of the all out here you all should be hunting down that white man Scott hill and killing him if you want to do something Scott hill is one of the men arrested in this ridiculous beating with these poor women were beaten. and all suspects were charged in now the gas stations because of the committee as nothing. nothing so rather than. just arresting the man. folks planted themselves at the gas station. the men in their lives even threaten. and now this community activists goes out and says you need to kill one of the men listen to one more time I want you folks to hear this and so now there's no gas station for the folks in the community zero nine it's gone and nobody wants that gas station nobody wants to buy would you I wouldn't. it's.

"This video I'd get Tom it scares me quite frankly that so look these women were beaten at this gas station it's obvious quite frankly the gas station is now closed Elise is gone. but the protesters are still there. in one of these protesters who represents. an organization that she says is supposed to change children to help them better themselves. she's out there and she names one of the men arrested and charged. and she says. the all out here should be hunted down that white man Scott hill and killing him if you want to do something. now my suggestion is that she stopped I called her last night said ma'am why did you do this she went crazy on me. Colin scream screaming calling me a cracker there what else search call me MF four it got ugly and then they pose that. it's not about me. my question the folks in the community is this where we're headed. is this leadership so you have a resolution the gas stations close gone. the only one over there by the way so there is no gas now for folks. the man arrested. okay so the DA seeking justice. and then an alleged leader is this leadership it is it's a leadership the folks want in the community does this bring folks to a better place is this healthy they have a community activist literally asking man he says if you all shot two men in Homewood why don't you go shoot this white man Scott hill and kill him. is this going to help. eight six six three nine.

"Here in Pittsburgh because we have not had that many shooting incidents where police officers have been shot and killed intact and number four CD this size has been small I feel like maybe a year or so ago every time you turn on the news you're hearing about a police shooting in another city and we were spared that we were spared a lot of that but today the mayor is asking for all the flags add sale city facilities to fly at half staff in recognition of city police officer Calvin home he's a thirty six year old officer had been a member of the Pittsburgh police force for just two years having served previously in Braddock as a police officer he is at this point he was not shot in the line of duty but there they describe it as and I guess this is a term I just wasn't familiar with it under the color of duty and that's because he was in Homewood in he was in Homewood there were reportedly two parties going on in the next block of Monticello street from where the officer hall why is an argument broke out he went down to see what was going on and that's when the gunfire rang out so it hasn't been made clear or it has not big calm clear whether or not it doesn't appear that he was the intended target but you know what they say but which don't have names on them let's do not have names on them so when the gunfire starts the fly you you just don't know where where that ball it's going to land so officer hall was hit three times in the back he fought for his life he was shot initially he was in critical condition transported to the hospital and now three days later he has in fact passed away so we send lots of support loving concern not only to to officer hall's family but we also remind the community at large somebody out there knows something this is now a homicide investigation someone knows something they have seen something give Pittsburgh police a call you can do it anonymously whatever the backstory is officer Calvin hall did not deserve what happened to him Saturday night into Sunday morning in the seventy three hundred block of Monticello street it is one fifty five triple a traffic.
