Reinventing The Wheel by Fritz Gilbert of The Retirement Manifesto
"I thought of ways. I've reinvented things through the first three years of my retirement. Fortunately i've documented every week in the post on the site going through those archives. I found the following examples of how this mindset can be applied in retirement number one moving from good to great when we realized we do better with our retirement homestead. We sold our original good retirement cabin and moved into a great one number two changing from a saver to a spender making a mental shift to spend to the level. We knew we could afford and no longer worrying about the need to save number. Three changing our approach to travel from cross country train trip to it extended rv v trip to the pacific northwest to a shorter rv trip to michigan's upper peninsula. We've intentionally reinvented our approach to travel. Every year of retirement number four realizing time mattered more than money. After years of focusing on building our investments we made the mental shift to realize that time freedom was what really mattered number. Five building a dream. The story of our new purposeful workshop and focusing our retirement on things that matter to us number six buying a second home in retirement when our daughter moved closer. We've reinvented our retirement to spend more time with our two year. Old granddaughter conclusion retirement is a perfect time to reinvent your wheel. Don't settle for things as they are but rather seek to continually improve your life experience. Have you don't like something modify it. It doesn't matter if it's large or small continually tweaking. Your approach brings tremendous value especially in retirement
Hendrick Motorsports Nears Petty Win Record After 1-2-3-4 Result
"Hendrick motorsports the first one two three four finish for hendrick in its team history. Only the fourth time in cup history. That's been done in the first and the cup series since rosh benway racing team. You have some knowledge of two thousand five at the season finale at homestead miami speedway so just to give you a little context henrik has only been a four car team since two thousand and four so i one two three four finishing essentially seventeen years. I that they've been able to do that but you know what's your first reaction to that. When you hear the hendrick motorsports for the first time ever in what thirty. Seven years of history has a one two three four finish. Well i think about is two years ago when we were talking about. What's wrong with hendrick right. And we we. We had this expectation level of hendrik. That's pretty high. We expect to see them contending for championships winning the lottery to me to me. In the era that i raced in hendrick was the most dominant team out there and that faded faded over time and it was. They didn't jump right back into it. They had to work themselves back into it. And now here they are and they also invested you. Think about what they did. They invested in a lot of youth right so took brought a lot of young drivers and that has cultivated into a very young team with a lot of winners on it heading into right direction. This is the opposite of what we were talking about. Two years ago. I think hendrick motorsports is repositioning themselves to be dominant force. They won the championship last year. We chase elliott now chase elliott. That hasn't wanna raise this year and alex bowman's want to i know chase elliott fans. Think well that's not good but it is good if the guy that won championship you last year is the guy. That's not winning this year and everybody else has stepped it up. That's a good thing. Now they've chase elliott rezoning twentieth every weekend. That what that's not chase elliott's running okay. He's not been winning expecting to do. But but that's a good problem for a team to have. It's almost impossible to have all four clicking. You know what i mean. It's really really difficult. But i just i just i think a reversal of where we were two years ago. That's the first thing that pops in my brain

Twenty six teen panel. Have you ever seen it dan. You oh i. Every christmas christmas eve man. It's christmas Let's let's hear our thoughts going to start paying panda. What did you think about christmas at. Homestead loved it loved it. I mean just full stop great full. Stop full stop. Need up so great man guys we want gave me christmas spills taylor great in it michael rady. I love michael rady. He did phenomenal in this man. Like i don't have anything really to pick apart in this. It's it's i watch this every year. A christmas movie Loved it. i thought it was really charming. Really endearing the child actor was great. She was great. So yes sophie. Yeah in the movie said is also true. Yeah man. I was so i was so pumped. This movie entered into my life at time. When i needed the most and is in my spirit and just has brought out the richness of joy in my life. Wow that's four. The dvd box right just is adore with a capital a. I love this movie. i have seen this before. I forgot how much i loved it. Just just superb. I don't think michael has ever made a film that. I don't just adore like even bacon me crazy. I was high on higher than you guys like. I just love the guy this is. I think my favorite taylor cole. Movie i thought they both just rocked together. I felt every second of it. The christmas beautiful wonderful. I agree the child actor. Fantastic supporting cast superfund. It had everything that i could want. It is a christmas movie. Not just a christmas hallmark film. Or whatever you wanna call it. It is christmas movie to watch my friends. Check it out watch it love it chris. Upset what are you guys giggling about. I don't think i'm as often on that. I do think it's still falls squarely in the hallmark category. You fall squarely homework category boy. You don't i'll be nut boy to your your lame sauce too far. This movie starts with a man Kissing a woman against her will and ends with her thanking him for. I'll say it again. A man forces himself upon woman kisses her against her will and at the end of the movie. She thanks him for doing that. Can't have sorry. Two thousand sixteen homer that's like nineteen ninety-two can't have it. Also the ending of this movie is completely bungled completely bungled and in those things is not a bad movie inbetween. I can't believe what i saw to begin the movie. And the ending being terrible and her thanking him for kissing her against her will in between those two things. You get michael. Rady and taylor cole. It is taylor kohl's best performance. No she's wonderful in this movie. Radi is great as well. The kid also great in the movie so definitely not one of the worst hallmarks made but enough of just for me to say. No that's enough for me raid. He's like a good sauce. You know what. I mean can can make a not great nugget from mcdonald's. Delectable the mighty salsa. Mcdonald's saves the nuggets. So you're saying radi mighty sauce reed said the mighty sauce is one of the best inches i would have to go back and think because as far as fast food sauces. Go if it's a national chain mighty sauce has to be up there if it's a regional chain no because zach sauce and the but but but mighty sauce is delicious. Anyone higher on zacks than than dan zak sauce. You brings action to every equation. Scrape radi is the mighty sauce. Razak sauce church. Either one boy. Let's talk about the feels. What gave us feels all of them. Start with panda panda feels. Yes so it's a little weird of a scene gavin who's the bodyguard comes into the low girls room. It's a it's strange. I tipped over. I think we just built water. Go to your camera. Two camera one camera one one so we don't show anything bad that's karen tooth. But what do i how do i. I'll do mine real quick. I'll do mine So we're we're good. Okay everybody where thank you. So i was thrown elbows rog. Whatever to sonoma gosh guys. So gavin comes on and he he starts talking to the little girl and it's a really sweet seen. He's trying to comfort her and he tries to just like let her know that you know fame's on everything but he just doesn't really sincere great way. I love gavin's character. I think he's great. I think that his friendship with the little girl is adorable. And i think that that was just. It was heartwarming to me. So yes that was the one that gave me all the filters honestly that i could say that about because the dynamic between taylor and michael are wonderful like they have a lot of great scenes together. That seems like they were really vibing and connecting. It really is seem that way. But i liked seeing Between gavin gavin is a sub character. I thought he was great. Sub character be character but sub sub sub character as sub character not primary headline supporting sub characters. And then you get your saying. I man the the middle of the movie kiss it. Just the they're going. They are out on the porch. it is snowing. It's beautiful there talking and just you adjust you feel. It happened in. You're like this going to be an almost kiss. And it's not and i just loved it i they. They were so good together. In this movie i felt every second of it. I loved it. And i love that kiss and i'm happy that they didn't Cop out with a with a with a almost kiss. I'm happy that it was a real boy. That's mine too. Everything he said. I agree with outing to target through again but that that kiss with thirty seven minutes left in the movie i thought was great. Dole seems great. Let's take a break. We'll talk about the white watts and what the hallmarks okay and double decker the week. Oh.

And she's crushing. Its but there's so much press. She's always being hounded by papa. Pop oh rasi we meet matt matt lives in homestead owns and is the mayor of homes. That he does it all but he's not thrilled when he finds out that the movie is going to be filming and homestead during the holiday season. Because they have so many traditions going on this is going to get in the way jessica comes to town and Matt has no idea who she is and she has no idea who he is and they meet up. She signs an autograph without him asking. He's like what is the deal with this girl. Find out who. She is in says Okay i guess. Enjoy your stay. And she's like. I promise we will stay out of the way that lasts less than twelve hours when a bunch of trucks show up early in the morning. Honk their horns. He is matt now. Jessica is filming the movie with her ex boyfriend. And there's this 'paparazzi rodzi guy trying to get a scoop. He's currently the only one in homestead getting those paparazzi shots now that night. It's time for the snowman contest. And matt sees jessica looking on But she looks sad and so. He goes to comfort her within her trailer and the paparazzi guys snapping pictures through the window and he gets one of her kissing him on the cheek as she says. All the christmas activities gone on horse and carriage rights absolutely loving spending christmas together. Her ex boyfriend not loving as much. He goes to tell her how he feels. Hey i still love you. Hey let's give this one more. Shot matt overhears it. he's bumped. Why did i ever think. I could end up with a movie star. Well she goes to talk to matt that nights and says hey. Maybe i should stay here. Maybe we should spend christmas view. And that's like well. What about ex boyfriend. I heard you guys. And she's like it's not. It's nothing i what about us. What about this. What about other than to have. They end up kissing on the lips. This weird moment brought to you by mcdonald's spicy nugget five out of mcdonald's near you at less for media doug with actual flavor trial mcdonald's spicy mcnuggets. Jer mediocre with knowsley some flavor. So they kissed but then acts all weird like falling for a movie star. What's going to happen here just as like so. Sorry for megan things weird here. Sorry about it now. The next day the picture that was taken of them through the window kissing on the cheek that gets posted on the paparazzi websites the paparazzi from all the other sites than flock to homestead. they're circling. The any has no idea what's going on. He walks outside. He sees all the people taking pictures. And he's like what's going on here. He finds out that the picture was leaked. And he's like. Oh my gosh. This is awful. What about my daughter. What's going on here. This is the worst just like. I'm so sorry we're gonna be gone in three days and then i'll be gone and your life can go back to normal. And he's like normals good but is normal good What that spicy the filmings behind schedule the filming is behind schedule. They're going to have to film on christmas eve. But that's a big problem because that's when the festival of lights is happening in homestead and matt is really mad that they're going to interfere with the festival of lights but But jessica's like well what if league involved a town who wants to be extras and everybody's like yeah and that's like oh man. I can't compete with that. It's christmas each and the x. Knows that she likes matt and he knows that matt like sir and so to do everyone a solid. He leaks picture of an old picture that he took earlier of him kissing. Jessica leaks to the press to get everybody off of matt's back. It's christmas eve. Christmas a year filming the festival of lights. The festival of lights is happening. And they're getting ready to end the move in a movie and matt decides you know what i'm going to go forward. I'm going to ask her to stay. This is gonna be awesome. So he goes puts his heart out there and she's like i gotta finish this the shot now. The movie was supposed to end the movie. They're filming was supposed to end with her and the guy not ending up together her going back to hometown but after hearing what matt says she calls an audible audible everybody. I know we've been on omaha omaha. She changed everything. And she's like i am going to stay. We can make this work and then she looks at matt like. Hey you know what. I'm talking about.
Learn How To Transition Investment Properties Without Paying Any Taxes
"Welcome everyone to the cassandra properties podcast episode. Today that we think is going to really deliver a significant significant amount of value. We're gonna be talking ten thirty one exchanges by one of the best in the business. We have dave foster who's the founder of the ten thirty one investor. He's a self proclaimed deal junkie and we. We had a little back and forth banter. Going before the podcast. So i think we're going to have a little fun today. Dave we doing. It's awesome to be here. James and it's awesome to be warm you doing well. It's ask it's awesome to be here and it's not what he's he opened up. The opening bali was. What does that. you're wearing a vest. I don't wear vests these down in saint petersburg florida and i'm up here freezing my butt off in staten island new york. So you know. I've i've actually spent a bit of time down in florida. I was on the east coast. And i did some investing in north palm beach and singer island. Excuse me singer island. What's the market like down there today. Florida like every player in the country's booming it's all just booming a relative term no You know what is someone's entry point for mom-and-pop real estate is another person's palace and so it's really interesting and actually a lot of our work with ten thirty one. These days is transitioning investors from these highly appreciated areas. Your neck of the woods california where there's no cash flow of able for people that want on rental real estate and cash load. But there's these knicks of the woods. Where you can still find things that are that will cash flow from florida overpriced right from california that the floor is cheap. Thinking the neighborhood right so this would be a good place for us to jump off from what i understand. You moved your family from denver to tamper using the section twenty one homestead exemption and there's a lot of folks picking up and moving from state to state today. Can you speak to the audience about twenty one home. Said yeah. Exactly so actually. That's kind of the other side of real estate and we actually used both the ten thirty one end at one twenty one so the one. Twenty-one is for the house that you live in when you buy abuse of property move into with your family and live there so that when you sell it you lived in the last five years. It has a married couple. You want to take the first five hundred thousand in profit tax free and you get a two that once every two years so when nari tells us the national association of realtors tells us that the average person stays in house five to eight years. That means that her nine times in your life you have the opportunity to sell an asset at take money tax free now best mogollon now about half a million dollar exemption. If it's your primary residence is wonderful but the on not half a million dollar exemption over your basis in profit. You're not eligible for ten thirty one correct. That is absolutely correct. Hands the other shoe. That's about to drop the ten thirty one exchange exist for investment real estate and with the thirty one you can sell investment real estate. That's highly appreciate it or that. You deeper shade a lot on your taxes by new investment real estate and you get to indefinitely deferred the payment of the tax now james. We talked about dancing girls the beginning of the show. You better have been reserved. Because if i go to my next statement with you it's going to be all over. The ice cream is off the milk. And we're gonna have to shut it down because no one's gonna listen but there is a way to combine section one twenty-one and ten thirty one if you have more than five hundred thousand dollar profit let's say you got a million dollars in profit. You could sell that and you could take your first five hundred thousand tax rate okay. Nice but no big deal day. I want to eliminate the other five thousand. So what can i do. I step move out of that property. Go by your ex partner residents right now go read a property go to home exchange for a year whatever turn that primary residence in to investment property at it a year later. You're going to sell now. You're selling and investment property. Aren't you at. That's what the law requires. Forgive thirty treatment. So you're going to do a ten thirty one exchange but you're gonna take five hundred thousand dollars if what we would call boot. Normally boot is taxable but wait. Did you also live in that property for two out of the previous five years absolutely did so the first five hundred thousand dollars is tax-free the rest of it goes a deer. Ten thirty one exchange to go buy new real estate and you've effectively deferred or eliminated a million dollars a game index.

Claim that checkered flag, not a lot of great people around me. Keep me pushing and we had a great offseason to prepare. My Rudy's come in and done a phenomenal job, and he knows how to how to push the right buttons with me and you know, I know exactly what he means when he says that, so I just had to go to work, and luckily we had enough car there. Final Lap Weekly Fantasy Update
"Rowdy dragging here back again with this week's final weekly fantasy update the daytona road course. What an awesome race. The finish really mixed things up. I think these road courses are really gonna flip the fantasy upside down this year. So let's move onto the stage winners. We have first and second stage sweep done by. Who's good job. loosen the win. Who's looks like he felt a little short term. Gators three took that with two hundred and forty two points. Now the final weekly had two hundred and seventy two players to start the season it bumped up to three hundred and forty three players so a whole bunch of people had joined us. But now we're back down to two hundred sixteen players so i'm thinking there was a consolidation period where nascar just dumped. Everyone who had goose eggs for the first brace the second race or both races and Either that or toby was pushing some buttons and deleted everybody in any event if you have played with us before all you have to log back in and make your picks in. You're good to go however you're going to have to join the league now. Okay so moving right along. Let's take a look at homestead miami speedway. I got three drivers free to take a look at starting with the number. Five kyle larson. It is time for him to show what he can do in the five car. He did not race year last year and two years ago he blew motor up here so it is important for him to shine in the five car this weekend in show what it is. He has for that hendra team and another guy to look at. Is the number eight tyler. Rettig he had a good first race here last year he got a fourth place finish and he scored a segment points in both segments. Were dirt track. Racers excel especially the rim writers. Tyler riddick and kyle larson both loved to ride the rim and the last guy will take a look at the number eleven car denny hamlin. He's superb at this track. He's got three wins here. Last year. he racked up stage points in both segments as well some looking for denny to have a good day on

"I sound like hank hill all of a sudden Propane propane and propane accessories But yes that's great all and yes that is an advantage but he still has to have the skill to take advantage of those advantages. Yeah definitely i mean it takes a lot more than just having the fastest car in the field. Which i don't even think he had the fastest car in the field so he was nice way through traffic. Like i've never seen dude. It was nuts. He went through the grass. There on that last restart. I don't know how he didn't hear the front enough the car doing that but man it was. It was an incredible drive even one stage two as well so he was competitive. All race long started fifteenth. Worked his way up there and did exactly what he needed to do. In the closing laps to seal. The win drove cagey veteran at the age of eighteen in his very first extremely start and then gave a humble interview. Afterwards which is a total flip. Flop of what we saw on the arca Tone if you watch that afterwards he had a very Snotty post race interview which he referenced in his victory interview here clean things up there which is nice but man. What Yeah it was absolutely a austin. Syndrich did finish. Second followed by a daniel henrik brandon jones and jeb burton rounding out the top five syndrich remains the points leader by twenty four after a win at a place to start the season as they continue the florida tour at homestead miami speedway on saturday truck series saw. Ben rhodes go onto for two to kick off that season by snagging wins Both both times in that series and we will see them next at las vegas boom. Do you know how old Tie gibbs was when king of the hill stopped. airing not alive. I know. I mean he was stopped in two thousand ten. I can't believe it went that long. I looked up twenty ten. How old was he well vs eighteen. Now you can do the math from their ads though too. So he was He was seven because he hadn't quite turn date yet. so centers. Old king of the hill ended probably not even old enough to watch king of the hill. Although i think i was watching it at a pretty young age although i was nine so news of the week cue.

"I think it's been like since nineteen seventy-one so yeah it's been a while for the cup series under how man. Yeah it's gonna be. It's going to be wild Like i said well. We'll all be glued to our tv to see what they do and nashville is back on xfinity series scheduled. So you've got to be pretty excited about that you know that's where the The awards banquet for the cup series and all of country music as there. I think they're going to embrace you guys. Yeah nationals proven to be a pretty important market for the store not just for nascar but for racing in general Sort is really. Cool to see nashville. Superspeedway get back on the schedule there. i know that they've put in a ton of work over there too. You know for the upkeep and just kinda rebranding everything so It's gonna to be a really interesting weekend. You know not just the community. Three's going there. But i believe the cup series and the truck series. Possibly i don't know about the trucks here but Yeah the truck going so it's gonna be interesting weekend the been dormant for you know ten twelve years so I'm really excited. If the that goes definitely. Now i list. I noticed on your twitter account that you list chicken nuggets connoisseur as one of your your things that you like. How how does one become that. And and what are the intricacies of chicken nuggets. Yeah you know some of the things you gotta look after chicken nuggets. You know you gotta look at some reading. The overall seasoning of the chicken. It can't be to dry. It can't be you know as you know. Obviously you don't want it to be over battered over breaded. I should say Right to crispy versus you know not crispy enough And then also place makes their own signature sauce. I mean that that helps them not a lot you know. I'm not talking about catch up. I'm talking about this. Place makes their own signature barbecue stock or something like that. I mean that's not a definite Uptick in the score all right. So what's your favorite one out there. So i haven't had a favorite one yet. I had a few were pretty good I did not review in daytona. With and i was a little shop out there And there's was pretty good. You could tell they made them there I wouldn't say it's my favorite. But i'll say that if you ever wanna based what a chicken nugget should taste like. I always based mine off of the off of your typical mcdonald's mcnuggets. That's what i base you know my scoring off of you know that's the a line nugget. When you think of a chicken or that you think of the mcnugget so that's that's baseline. There's gotta be ones better than that. I would guess because he's always a better now get. There's never the perfect absolutely absolutely so. Is that something you you partake in often. Is there a ritual to sitting down to some nuggets or do you. Just you know flip. Open the carton and go for it. I'd kind of made it a habit that after a race i can have my spouse from mcnuggets I remember leaving daytona. This past weekend we went through the drive through at mcconnell. Then i got myself a nice ten piece. Oh it's i. If i wouldn't call it tradition but i just find myself at restaurants that happened out of nuggets that i have partake absolutely. I've got a couple of young kids and we actually have to base our restaurants on nuggets purchases as well but the that's how it goes all right so Daytona road course but then next on the schedule is the homestead miami speedway. You guys are spending a lot of time down in florida. Yeah we this is basically the homestead stretch right here Not homestead. The florida stretch Lot of in the florida heat Definitely having them. You know my physical fitness going into those races hydration. It's just a lot of things like that you know. That's something that's definitely had to come into play. But also you know the the gray stress that i haven't been to. I haven't been to homestead. I haven't been to daytona beach road course so We got one of the three Knocked out already so two more to go. And i'm excited to learn what i can. They're all right. His name is ryan vargas. I appreciate the time as always here on the final app and best of luck this.

"Is the final weekly on the final lap. Once again with us is ryan vargas. Welcome back to the program. No no problem. He goes for having me all right. So you're coming off daytona What are your initial thoughts You know a couple of days after the fact man you know racing at daytona was just an absolute dream. Come true. I mean. I mean that's the end game you know. That's what everybody wants to do is race atonal and definitely a childhood bucket list item cross. Stop right there. And it was an honor to do with swan on the cars. Well it's mostly I'm in a lot of drivers. Call it a small season with an season. I guess in the past more so with speaks and everything going on. But now that there's the the road course It kind of is back to the same old. You know season within a season. Yeah you know this is well. This is technically i. You know speed week. Sort of say It that was my first time racing at daytona period. And this'll be my first time daytona road course so Going into that race Really with no practice or qualifying. It's gonna be really interesting to learn about absolutely What were your thoughts as of race. Fan in this case of the daytona five hundred. Then you know. I know it was a little because i know they got into that single file. Line up against the wall but you know when they regularly like that. It's all about it's all about finishing that's really the case. I mean utah. If you stay in line all the way to the end you're pretty much setting yourself up for guaranteed top fifteen finish and that's not just mentioning that but you're all set yourself up for a good point standing heading into heading out of the first racist and so You know a lot of those drivers race their head and frankly i didn't mind it I meant there was more cars to fight it out for the race for for the race win. At the end of the reason i personally enjoyed seeing michael mcdowell get that i think that was a win. A lot of people can get hide. Oh yeah absolutely and the what did you think of the the eventual winner. I mean talk. About an underdog situation. With michael mcdowell michael mcdowell he. He's always been one of the overachievers in the sport opinion You know he's really good at the short tracks. He's three and to be a very consistent driver of super speedways. And i mean he. He's also proven to be pretty good at the road courses as well. I know he will not one race with the are about. I would say four or five years ago. So i mean he's no slouch I mean i feel like this one was a long time coming So it's cool to see that team get their first win of the year and locked themselves into the playoffs this early in the season. Yeah no kidding. And also the the all star race. Yeah exactly so two big things to kinda like lock themselves into you know really set themselves up and you know that helps teams like them immensely. Totally totally now This season your full-time jd. Motor sports You've got to be pretty please yeah. I'm very excited This is the first time. I've really had myself a set schedule You know we're still fighting. And you know trying to get everything you know secured and you know. Try and continue setting up partnerships. You know like. I said earlier you know we were able to pull together the deal with swan swan security It's honestly a really cool opportunity to work with them this past weekend that they tunnel have them back on the car and charlotte Road america in texas in the fall. So really cool deal. They're excited to see where that goes. Yeah let's talk a little bit about that sponsorship Cameras i love high tech Tell us more about that. Yeah you know one of the things that drew me to them you know. They have such a ton of innovative products. You know one of the things. That really my with their Enforcer kate with the you know the police satellites and the and the loud siren. You know it's important to kind of keep things safe and we're outfitting the shop actually with a bunch of their stuff as well so you know it. It takes a lot can trust in the product and we definitely trusted swan. Now you've got it on the car As a as a primary for a select races but they're also the The secondary sponsor for the rest of the season yet. So they'll be on the car for for the whole year actually in the associate level so very excited to kind of keep them on board with us stuff. You're keep building that partnership. I think that's the big key thing there. Is you know we. We started partnerships. It's all about growing that. You know i'm not thinking just one two three four races like they're doing this year you know. I'm looking at the long term and trying to continue growing them as well as racing. Now your full time this season how much in the back of your mind is that kind of puts you at ease on one hand that hey i got a full time ride now. I need to go prove myself on the other hand. I kinda have. The same fulltime got announced. The work only got heavier pressure myself for every single race this year on top. That continue selling sponsorships can you. You know growing my brand all those levels so it's very important to keep all that check And i'm very very excited. That's going oh definitely definitely now. What are some of the drivers elsewhere in the garage area. You might lean on for for advice or tips If we're going to attract that you may not be familiar with you. I'm really lean on my teammates. You know last year and going into the really leaning on jeffrey And also roommates with miot snyder. so driver the two car for our so. You know those are some of the guys that i like to lean on. bg mcleod. Another one. I leaned on him a lot last year And he's probably one of the more underrated guys in the garage area. I give them all the credit in the world. What he's accomplished especially forming Liftoff motorsports so Excited for him. an exciting to continue working with all my teammates. This year. landon. Jeffrey and colby. We've got. I mean quite a different schedule across the nascar series but in the expanding series there are a few that are different Are there any that you're looking forward to. nearly. I'm looking for all of them. You know there's so many racetracks i haven't been to I it's hard to pick just one. What about the circuit of the americas. I mean that one looks pretty cool. Yeah that one. That one's gonna be really really fun. you know sh coda is one of those world class facilities i mean. They hosted formula one's or a couple of years there and so have the opportunity great. They're in the nascar extended theories It's gonna be really really interesting. I know there's a lot of winding corners and bearing tight corners. Some high speed ones a lot of elevation change. So it'll be fun. I think it's gonna create create some Interesting racing now. you're the xfinity series doesn't get a chance to go there. But i'm sure you're going to have the tv Tuned to the bristol dirt race for the cup series. That is going to be absolutely wild and crazy. Yeah i'm i'm very i think. A lot of people in the racing industry whether their trucks xfinity or cup or you know their local short track racer. I think everybody's going to be watching that one. Not just for how exciting it is but also just learning you know is the first time The cup series has been on dirt and a couple of deck in a couple of decades. i mean Couple of decades. Well handful of years. I get my word and right there but It's going to be super cool to see that. And i think it's gonna be interesting to see what the teams bring out The setups are going to be super super unique. You know something that unlike we've seen in a long time these cars. I think it's been like since nineteen seventy-one so yeah it's been a while for the cup series under how man. Yeah it's gonna be. It's going to be wild Like i said well. We'll all.

"So many times i was anxious nervous in spoke on my mark so that was that play there but i was glad i was able to pull it off not mistake. Can you believe joe gibbs racing this weekend i mean bell. We kind of knew he was on the cost. But we didn't think it would be on a road course. I mean yeah. We kind of knew he was. He was getting close to a win. Yeah yeah he was kind of showing signs that he was ready. Levi family racing. He was putting together. Some decent runs towards the end of the season. There it is and the of this seals the deal and even credited. Leon family racing for helping. Prepare him to be ready to win this race. Ambi ready for his stint here. At joe gibbs racing so this is big for him this monstrous And first ever cup series winner from the state of oklahoma by the way beat me to it. I was ready with that staff man. Sorry buddy but yeah this is this is big and this could open the floodgates because now we head to homestead where he finished top ten after starting like thirty six last season so this this could be something where we might see christopher bell win back to back because he's starting up towards the front due to this win this this could be some momentum that this guy carries all of a sudden and don't forget he has adam stevens kyle busch's former chief who won two championships with them. I know how sweet and funny is that adam. Stevens is smiling. Yeah i'm sure it hasn't stopped since especially after the race. That kyle busch had. I mean him and grass it was like lap one. Yeah well that was. Part of the mcdowell fiasco so mcdowell had the flatiron kind of bunched up the field behind him. Kabua's had nowhere to go out in the grass. And that really crumpled things up immediately for kyle busch and it was all kind of just trying to survive from their former cowboys finished. What thirty fifth so. That's not what you like to see On a road course especially from kabul on the guy who's kind of one of the better road course racers in the sport but rough start to the season for him to how about chase elliott. We thought he was on his way to yet. Oh man another road course win dominating this thing you get caught up in traffic on a restart and did some landscaping with his nine machine. He ends up finishing Not i but twenty-first after leading a whopping forty four last. He was going for his fifth in a row. I wasn't he. Yeah so he led forty four out of the first. What fifty laps or so And yeah he was going for. Its fifth in a row at a road course but While i they call the caution for weather To see if teams wanna take rain tires which the rain didn't last very long so there was no need for rain tires but a good portion of the field came down got tires but eleven guys stayed out led by joy lugano State out on old tires and that mired chase elliott back in that crazy scrum and Christopher bell was able to make it through chase. Elliott was not so lucky. You got cop and a few things you mentioned the going off roading. After touching korla joy went into the grass somehow saved. it was a miraculous save. I don't know how you didn't hit anything or spout but then once we got going After a little bit of caution there for an incident. With i think tyler riddick fire or something. I'm not sure but After that happened then you know he was working his way back through the field and get spun out by dint ham. Trying to make a move on practice laskey who was missing every turn it seemed and poured for chase just had nowhere to go there. He was trying to make a move and hamlin's bumper was there. Just that was it. So that's why he ended up twenty first but man a very dominant race and it's very shocking to see that he did not come out of there is the winter just crazy circumstances dictate but that's that's all it takes these days up next. We have got ryan vargas on the program and So stick around. This is the final ap weekly.
Biden’s controversial decision to reopen temporary shelters for migrant children

Where Esports is Going with Nick D'Orazio, Inven Global's Director of Corporate Strategy
"So that's a really what type of content I'm trying to push in the future for Esports. I want it to be more of that and less of the same. I love that. I love that Esports is dead. So unique and and you bring up Sports and how Sports is takes on a level of everything that goes around. It is very interested and that's going to be very obvious this weekend with the Superbowl happens in American football a hundred million. People are going to watch that maybe ten million really care about football twenty and the rest are watching for commercials. They're they're watching to eat snack also day. They're watching for the halftime show. Whatever that looks like. That's where Sports exists and it's also where e Sports is definitely going and with more focus on the dispatch. Tags that come around with culture the see the awesome sneakers that are that are made that come out with like like OverWatch characters or overwatch's eyes or e-sports designs. Even that's the kind of stuff. That is so cool to me and I think we're good to see if we are seeing more and more of it and Esports and places like invent culture have really done a great job of highlighting it. Well. Yeah, and you know, it's off the expression of these fandoms, right? It's it's more than just like individual a posturing right like yes in my home right now as I look around I'm surrounded by video game art and video game fan aren't and all my favorite games, right? There's one aspect of it is that I like to be I'm around the things that I enjoy in the art that I like, but the other act and y m e Sports and gaming is certainly headed towards being expressed through the culture of fashion the culture of Art and music and I do think eventually Decor. We're already seeing that with God B&R slash Battle Stations and the aesthetic gaming a movements right? You you see that there is how do you put this? There's an underlying set of core. Hm. This is how I can experience this esport, right? This is how I can experience this game. And if I meet someone who has that shared. Oh, I also like to experience this game in this way. I also like to experience this fandom in this way that builds friendship that builds me like a meaningful. I'm communities and then these communities are the people that go towards your conventions that go to your tournaments, right? It's the same way in which every good football a culture shock and your your city usually has a bar like associated with it or like an after-game bars or like big, you know, a downtown hubs. It's because it's more than just the game and Esports is constantly, you know, keep talking a little bit before we hit on record e Sports is always worried about its Revenue stream, right? Where are we going to get this revenue from and you know, the answer is simple get more people interested in this page. Parts and find more ways to maximize the Esports a user experience. We've already learned from Starbucks that people will be fine with paying $4 more for coffee because it feels like an experience and it feels worth it. And it's nice thing people will be fine paying more for Esports. If we find out how to make it a premium experience how to make it something that lets them experience more things than just, you know, like to throw shade the same talking head style analyst people hurriedly a commenting over, you know, like any sports match and that being it that's the height of how long an experience your love for this game and and the players and this goes for you know, any major use for it. I think at all Rings true. I definitely agree and it was actually something that I don't know if he would have seen this played out in the way. I was hoping to with the Activision Blizzard franchise leagues and the way they went from City to City and now that really never took off because of covid-19. Both leagues have their own. Set core issues. But what I was really excited for was to see how all these different teams and all these different cities started running events and and the different things that popped up around those events. Like you mentioned the the bar that people Gather in. What is the lasting impact of being able to go City to city and start really putting roots of fandom down that was something I was really excited to see we never really got to see it. Well, I'll tell you this now the OverWatch League was a fairly it was an eye-opening experience for me. I thought it was like a crystal ball being a journalist and covering that it allowed me to see into the future of Esports cuz I covered every day of season one. I was there in person at the house at the arena didn't miss imagine. I interviewed so many of the players the fans. I was just there most importantly I was there and what I learned, is that the atmosphere Is very fun when you're waiting in line. It's very fun. When you're shuffling in and you're in the gift store and it's fun when you sit down and the and the team's walk in but after that it becomes like a strictly worse twitch viewing experience for then if you were just your house and you know, it's like I've seen this by faith. Like I I know this this isn't an opinion. This is a fact and it was exhausting showing up there. Even for the super fans and I saw them dwindle slowly and slowly but to your point about the Resurgence were made it all worth it is when the local gamer bar or a college, you know or student union or whatever realized. Hey, let's do an afterlife event thing or let's do a pre-event thing or let's start having these team homesteads, right? Like the problem is because they were ran by small teams. And you know who didn't really there was a lot of concerns about Thursday. Safety and things like that cuz you know, it's a blizzard. They are a big Corporation and they need to have it really spic and span cuz it's like a game for teens and all that. They were way to a closed-off right if more people knew that these Regional fan meet ups and things were happening more people would come but they didn't quite know how to Market it. So, you know, I will say that I am agree covid-19 put a stop on a lot of that right? It's hard to even continue with that but I'll also say that, you know, it's too little too late when it comes to something like the over in the mass of investment. That was you know, it's sad when you think about how many millions of dollars they put into that Arena and the teams and each of those orgs and all those invest, you know, paying what twenty million dollars per lead spot but like players salaries all of that. It's sad to think that at the end of the day the thing that had the most in in my opinion potential and scale and was dead. Most Community good was what resembled grassroot Esports what resembled if they had never done the league at all. And if they just made OverWatch a very friendly, you know public API game in which people would love to build a custom a tailor-made esport that the community accepts but we didn't get that. We instead we got a league and it you know, it didn't

Creating water out of thin air in the Navajo Nation
"This week. We're talking about how technology can help us. Death to climate change. The west is in a drought. That's only getting worse. And drought is an even bigger problem in places that have uneven access to water to start with in the navajo nation in the southwestern u. s. many homes have no running water at all. The tribe is working with the startup source. Which makes hydro panels powered panels that pull water vapor from the air and condense it into clean drinking water and so is president of the cameron chapter in the navajo nation. Where one family got source panels. The summer. he described the water. They make when. I was a child when we went out hunting. Small game My grandfather when the storm went through new would have craters in the ascent stone. The hell water. So we stu been over and drink the water craters in pure rainwater when i first tasted that water at this flashback to that part of my memory. So that's what the water tastes like really clean pure water by it came from the rain. Wow and is it the one family in cameron. That has them right now right now. Yeah people that don't have running water. Some of them have to drive now or and a half one way to town to get drinking water. People want waters not expensive. Sheriff you have access to the store around the corner. Yes but for us in reality. Is that going to the town of flagstaff. You're spending maybe fifty dollars on gas and other things when you go by water in town a case of water water actually caused a new round. Sixty eighty bucks you know. How often do people have to go like he. Can you estimate how much a month that might cost. And how much somebody is this. One household is saving with hydro panels. Would they would go probably three days out of the week to get water but we also have voting that still rely on their livestock cattle horses. So they're running almost Daily to haul water right more. Broadly when you look at bringing infrastructure to cameron and the navajo nation hydra panels but also like renewable energy new electric grids. Do you feel hopeful that you know. The reservation has a chance to maybe create a new vision of energy and water. That isn't so destructive one. The things about the climate change also is that we get more sunlight now and i think the tribe itself has a lot of interest in renewable energy and energy developed in our community and cameron could be sold to california and surrounding states. At the same time we also would like a smaller scale of solar energy to homestead. Are off the grid that way. We don't have to run more wires on our land which is such an eyesore to me. There's a price you pay you know. And and the price is now gonna be coming out of your pocket but are you willing to sacrifice the beauty of the land to get power. I mean do you think that could become a model for the rest of the country and other parts of world. I always tell people that are interested in in trying. Something new in cameron were willing to try it. Here be the i if it works here work anywhere
How Probiotics Reduce Cravings & Support Weight Loss
"I'm cassie wenas. I'm a registered and licensed dietitian and as my friends and family know well. One of my favorite things to do is to co-host this radio program. There are a couple of reasons why i if longtime listeners haven't noticed yet. I love to talk so this is a really good fit for me. But there's more to it than that. I also love to have this opportunity each month when i co host to help. Thousands of people understand how the simple act of eating real food supports good health and truly this job of talking about eating. Real food connects me to my roots. I grew up on the same ranch in north dakota that my grandpa homesteaded nearly nine decades ago and my grandma who just passed away. This last march lived on that ranch long after grandma died long after she retired. I could actually see grandma's house out of our kitchen window growing up and there was barely a day that went by that. I didn't see my grandma and grandma knew how to cook. You never left her house hungry. That's for sure. She made delicious meals and all from real food. She butchered her own chickens. She collected her own eggs. When our kids were little she milked. The cows gave her the cream that she put in her coffee. And oh my goodness grandma made delicious whipped cream from that real cream on the holidays to tap her apple pie in her pumpkin pie and of course when grandma was baking pies she used real lard never crisco and whenever i think of grandma is gardening. Grandma had a huge garden filled with tons of delicious vegetables dinner. At grandma's meant you'd not only get delicious food but you'd get real food so like i said maybe the biggest reason why i love hosting this dishing up nutrition program is that ties me to my roots because it allows me to share with all of you the importance of eating that real food like the kind of food that i grew up on. So enough of my reminiscent. Let's get to today's topic as always. It's a good one and i think it's pretty timely. With the holidays coming upon us today we're going to be talking about how probiotics can reduce your cravings and help with weight loss so with that i'd like to introduce my co host in studio with me. This morning is a fellow registered and licensed dietitian and leah. I've been talking long enough. How about you take a minute to tell listeners. A little bit about yourself. I think the hand off. Cassie and good morning. Twelve our listeners. Good saturday morning to all of our listeners. So i only client showed. And i've been a registered dietitian with nutritional weight and wellness for the last three and a half years and i am a proud mama of a two year old boy and in mma. When i'm at home part time i hang out with him and then part time i see clients out of our mendota heights office and right. Now we're seeing all of our clients virtually or over the phone but one of my favorite things to do on. Those workdays is to really help clients. Problem solved to help them. Achieve whatever their health goal is and to help them just kind of achieve better overall health in general and i will admit so. Cassie you told a wonderful story about growing up with real food. And and how i love what you said about this tying it back to your roots while i didn't necessarily have that same of background coming into this so when i was first introduced to that real food message. It wasn't until i was actually in graduate school and going to get my master's degree in nutrition so as dietetic student. And i would still say you know. Even at that point. I was a long term health nut still so health and nutrition and wellness was still a passion of mine but when i first heard that real food message i was a little skeptical because it was so different than what i was actually learning in school but i had some digestive problems. I had some anxiety. I had some knee pain. That was making me feel than what i really was. So i decided to just kinda swallow a little bit of that pride and decided to just give that balanced eating a try will lo and behold three weeks later. I felt better than i had felt in years so the bloating and the gas. That would happen to me. Every single night that was eighty percent gone within those first three weeks and my energy was my anxiety was down and my really big aha moment. When i first started noticing. Those ballot benefits eating real food. Was that the chaka creating were gone. Absolutely one hundred percent gone. I realized and i remember it so clearly. I was driving home from class one night and was thinking and was i haven't touched or even thought about a piece of chocolate in the last three weeks. That was huge for me. And then i was like oh i get it now. This makes sense this is. It's clicking for me now. So ever since then you know it became that you know that believer and just wanting to share that knowledge and that passion that experience with that message with anyone and everyone who who is willing to listen to me

"Right. So until you can get down, I've seen a few people right they they got down to where they can make one nail in maybe. Twenty, seconds. As I'm not at that point that. I haven't done that many nails I think I was able to make. One nell in a roughly. Fifty seconds. Take. Little minute maid canal. Just a standard no rounded head. Ford? Now. You are going to keep up with the machine doing that for for. Sure. No. So I, know that's where a lot of stuff went. Onto the I. To. To be close but it if you're out there looking at it, you know this was made by hand it was not made by a machine. Right right and highland homestead wants to know what was the What have you made like the most that s that s sucker was. So I Think. Well, Blacksmith wise are would. Woodworking way maybe woodworking was. Oh if we're gone out of. Everything that I've made a what I'd like the most I don't think anybody has really seen it. Other than a few pictures. That I've put up. It. It was quite a few years ago. This was when I was still married to my first wife living here in Hampton Roads Area I still fairly new to this area. First Time I'd really live next to a beach, any type of. Point of my life. That mean a buddy of mine made a a seven foot nine longboard. As Nice. The funnest things I've ever made out of wood so wouldn't. It the everything is made out of wood. That was. An it was cheaper build. So the the whole build of the the surfboard is self was under one hundred dollars because a lot of stuff is made more with plywood. Into lighter material. So how it was constructed, it was super super easy to make in and whatnot. Erode like a Cadillac I think we had like seven people at one time. Awesome built. So but for blacksmith thing. I think my favorite thing that I made..

And you're going out to Arizona was dirty anywhere else besides Washington that you guys thought about going certain homestead. Not really the reason being is again I grew up in in Washington state my my whole family's still up here and so we wanted to move number one you know closer to my family, my parents they're they're getting older and up their age, we wanted to be close to home and. Stuff like that, and then again once he started researching. Properties of here, and then animals and plants up here. We just the vast amount of things that were able to do up your because of the way the weather is up here was very, very appealing to a starting homestead. Right, as little law easier on the animals up here too. Not, just guarding wise, but you don't have the extreme heat or cold. So the animals are a little. A little bit more taken care of. Like. Oh Brandon if you have a channel or whoever that is let me know but thank you very much Now Way I can I can get you in there. If you have a channel if you don't thank you, I'll put you on there anyway. But. When you? Is,.

"Oh That's actually a funny story Brother actually married her cousin and I actually met her at my brother's wedding. So when the when they came into town came from Arizona to visit her cousin and go to my my brother and her cousin's wedding. We actually met at the wedding and then about us four months after that, I moved to Arizona to be closer to her and we spent the last six years in Phoenix Arizona, and then we got sick and tired of the heat might told her that we should move back to Washington where I grew up and so now here we are not. Enjoying, the cooler weather except for yesterday. Yeah. Yesterday, it was a little hot yesterday and. Which happen. Yeah it doesn't happen too often here where gets gets up past ninety and yesterday was one of those days S.. Cooler still cooler than down there in Arizona though. Definitely definitely yeah. When you're in one hundred. Degree weather for seven days. Old Real quick. And beyond beauty threes in here now have in place camping highland homestead. So what? In here. Guys, I have to be on Wifi today I got a couple of days till I get myself through going and getting. So beauty me going black screen that's why the audience. But. What made you decide to start doing? Youtube. Honestly one of the one of the reasons that we had started. You. GotTa runaway goats are it gives. Algan other reasons that we had started, our channels was a lot of her family still lives in Arizona. One of the main reasons we started with We knew when we moved up here that we were going to be starting a homestead and we kind of wanted to use it as a communication tool with her family and keep them updated on what was going on in our on our farm and kind of what we were doing, and then once we started it, we of realize that maybe sharing our story like watching the home setting channels that we watched would encourage or help somebody else wants to do this their own because we've had a lot of fun since we started doing our own state so. and. And we were talking before before we started. It's really nerve wracking before we start putting the stuff out there like it is. It is very much so like I I. Guess I was very nervous to get on cameras very nervous to do youtube when I first started and then we put out a few videos and we got some you know some good comments from people. Some Keep going you're doing good that kind of stuff and it just you know getting hurt exactly. It still kind of what we were doing and it helped us continue doing what we were doing so. Right and. "And also, that's only for the Cup rates. No fans at the x Rays Oh. Wow, okay, because they're doing this weird weekend. Oh No, I'm thinking of sorry I'm thinking of That's Talladega I'm thinking of homestead because homestead this weekend they're doing like the four races there doing the extract doubleheader, and then the next couple header You know if they would take a couple of those things that you mentioned. Number one reasonably priced concessions number two reasonably priced ticket. What did you say was forty and fifty bucks? Yeah I mean if they would if they would just like spread that out there, the other races. Then you got something man. So the tickets are. Where they're located. It's the tribal tower, which is the the Tri tri-oval in a second, the second level and then the first and second level of on the start, finish line and right before the start finish line, and then the first level off of the. Trial so those are the only six sections that are open for answer, forty and fifty bucks man I mean. If they charge, they charge forty bucks for a cup, series ticket and two to five bucks for concessions. They wouldn't have problems selling tickets. They wouldn't have had over the past couple of years. Is What I'm saying? They wouldn't have had problems selling tickets. I I think I think that's way better to do it. That way is way better than the have the ninety nine dollar package where you can see you know Jimmy Johnson from seventy five feet away or something like that. Because that was the direction they all went is hey, we're GONNA? Charge a hundred bucks hundred twenty bucks, and you get to be in attendance for Q. and A. Session with any Hamlin. Or you know a you know, throw, you can throw beer bottles at Cobb, Bush or something like that and so would do that kind of stuff. Then you get like a little goodie bag and they're like one hundred twenty bucks. We'll know when you're trying to bring the family out. You have four people one hundred twenty bucks then. You still got to buy him food and you've got to put him up and got park and you got to you know. Do you tailgate and stuff forty bucks for a race to five bucks for concessions that will get people back out to the track. Exactly Hey got a little breaking news for Yeah, not breaking by the time people here this. But. Bailey Currie has broken off his His association with Cicero Motor. Inc. own I didn't realize he was affiliated women. He was the guy who was driving the forty nine car. Because Racist Rally has not completed a lap in two thousand twenty. Of course, he hasn't so Bailey Currie is actually been behind the wheel and Bailey Currie has now broken off from? Motor Sports. The bummer there is that means doesn't have anything to drive. Hopefully, somebody will step up. Give him car to drive to be fair. I think he probably have the same result regardless. Yeah probably doesn't try her if you drive. Yeah. It's whether his name is on the list or not basically. I wonder if Cruz night. Is the press guy for? Okay. I hope he is and I hope they realize what doping is. Not Flag that. He's got to explain that when somebody. Man So, and then so that the ticket price and the concession price brings us back to the story. That's before it on the list here NASCAR. Officially announced by NASCAR and I don't think it ever will be but Dover motorsports publicly-owned, so they have to disclose to all of the people to buy shares in them what the what the details of their deals are. And in their the a witness car for twenty, twenty, one that includes Dover and national, and by the way I didn't know what the time until we saw the details of that move and we didn't talk about it last week because I didn't know this It's not just nationals getting race. It's getting a raise from Dover, so there's only gonna be warned over ace, and then the Nashville race, but as part of those terms NASCAR says that the tracks have to. To Bill at least seventy percent to capacity if they're making that deal for the Dover, motorsports tracks. Then you know they're probably making that deal. For All of the tracks in their contract with NASCAR have to fill seventy percent capacity. Wow, that's pretty big. Like what are they gonNa do well what they could do. Is exactly what we were just talking about forty dollar tickets five dollar concessions out. Get people in the stance bought. There is a big asterix next to it. Somebody Call Sir mix a lot is a big butts coming through. Yeah, there is because that's seventy percent number only applies to seats that aren't covered by banners. That's fine, so if you cover all of the seats in the place with banners, except for ten, and you can get seven people to buy tickets. You keep your race, which hardly seems fair? Yeah, but you know. Sometimes. Sometimes you have to. See Talladega. They're a sorry homestead. This we can could live up to the seventy brench cover all the seats. there you go. So find a way. It's all a matter of perspective, but if You know they lower prices. They want to do in that problem getting seventy percent. But they've got to have that caveat in there. Nobody would have race next year. Exactly after you have to I mean. I'm I'm trying to think outside of Daytona. And Watkins Glen. Trying to thing I mean Phoenix Phoenix, probably seventy percent like naturally seventy percent, but they got seats when they did that remodel trying to think of what. How how you can't the people in the hills either right? Well, you know and that's that's where they come from with a wok. It's going to rose like Oh, it sells out sells out well. You know the person on the hill. They're on the. You know the walkways doing it. So seller, it's always matter perspective, too especially at like a road course, but yeah I'm trying to thank me man I I'd like to go back and look at tapes to see if anybody legitimately had seventy percent of their actual seats filled outside of the Glenn Daytona Am Phoenix. Talladega. Maybe yeah, tell maybe maybe. I think Talladega some seventy seventy thousand people I. Don't know if they had seventy percent of that last one. percent in the stands like does it. Is it seventy seventy percent of capacity? I'm sure that's I'm sure means Grand Sense. He's because otherwise. Fluff the numbers say yeah. We had seventy percent capacity because had. Exactly? Maybe that's what they do in. The end is pulled back and they're like Oh. We just seventy percent capacity, you know the infield counts, and the competitors are all in the field. Fine. Think they're not stars and bars flag. earth-grazing grades exactly. Yeah, you'll fly your flag account for two. Yeah Man. JEEZE! All right. So this weekend. Thousand Fans, two thousand people, watching it and I and homestead and We have I'm looking here to. To paint schemes around paint schemes. Paint scheme seriously. PAINT SCHEME CASH I'm looking. Hold on, let me look more galleries. More galleries. To close. There's Martinsville have Martinsville paint. SCHEME WANNA. They have that's all part. Martinsville Paints game..

"As a as a group as a whole to collectively to to try to make sure that we. Make this a success and and. You know it. It works out definitely coming up this weekend. Is something unique on the schedule? Homestead Miami speedway? All. That's not unique, but you got two of them back to back on Saturday and Sunday. You know I think that that's that is very odd to me, Homestead has been a place that. Hasn't necessarily been my favorite I'm I'm willing to change that. You know it it. It definitely is going to be interesting, but. You know I don't know I think it's GonNa. Be I think. Anytime, you have a double header and you're able to use the first page and really. Get a good understanding of where things need to be Ab and what you need to do. I definitely will help, but this is unknown territory for us. We'd never raise two days in a row so I think that I think the teams are going to have to get into a game I. The drivers are going to have to get in there every game and You're just GONNA have to go out there and try to get after? How does that work equipment wise? You have to use the same car you got two different cars so we're supposed to use the same car now that that's all subjects you, you know if you get damaged right car repairable, but for the most part. You know I. It from what I gather They've gotten it down to where you know. Majority of the cars will be the same car. So. That will. That will definitely be interesting. Are you going to have the same rap on it or is that GonNa Change also? We're going to have the same paint scheme, but the The Hood Logos will change so so we're GONNA re wrap the hood for day to. on the first day we're going to have Thank you to all of the brain employees who have kept you know brand up and running and keeping our farmers though with the product. They need during this pandemic. And then fund the other side of that We also are going to have a a farmer on the hood of the second day, so really cool an issue. That brain is putting together and indefinitely You know something that's going to be something to me. Cool very very cool last question for Justin all guy. Are Talladega on a schedule? up next after that that's gotta be you know like a double edged sword exciting, but little uneasiness. Yeah, yeah, that that's probably the understatement. Especially considering that there's no practice you know I I think that. I think it's GonNa, be fun because you know practice really honestly. Other than that, I infant lapse that that you know we all take off and get going for the most part. There's not a lot of practice to get had. So you know we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA, go out there and our thing, and and you know hopefully bringing car. That's capable of going to win like we have been here lately and go at it. You know absolutely are just an Auger It'd be on the program best of luck in these coming weeks I. think appreciate it and good luck.

"Thank you so much for taking the time to sit down with us today and talk to us about this topic absolutely. It's my pleasure. Love talking about stuff so my first question for you is what is home setting. Yes and I've kind of a loaded question definitions on that. It depends on Oprah going old school that a homestead are with someone who came to part of the country and got free lands right but then I how it works these days so how I define home. Studying is is basically a movement of people who want to get back to the basics in who wants to take the best of old fashioned skills and mindsets in food perhaps and we them into our modern everyday lives. Well that sounds like a lot and it sounds like a big lifestyle change. What was it that made you and your family decide to pursue this. So I've always had a bent towards rural living at country life. Even I was raised basically in town and a little neighborhood so that was part of it but ultimately what prompted the whole thing was our children like when I started to have our babies an realized I didn't want them to be consuming. Toxins in you know all the processed ingredients of different things. I was analyzing how we could give them a healthier more wholesome lifestyle and so that was a big Halliste in also just this idea of making things with our hands and being involved in the process of growing your own food like that just lit me up of so excited about that so I think it'd be both of those things combined kind of prompted me into this lifestyle all right so you've been doing this for a little bit now. What kinds of benefits have you and your family seen from pursuing this more natural lifestyle? So Yeah we've been doing this for almost ten years. I quite a while. There's lots of benefits. Summer really obvious like healthwise. Eating whole foods. Getting rid of processed ingredients in things were ingesting. That's a big one. My kids are happy healthy. They get locked outdoor time. Lots of room to run. I need a pretty good immune systems from all the dirt. They eat around. That's my own little theory on that but I think deeper than that home studying and learning how to become a producer instead of just a consumer because we live in a consumer culture and shifting set of making and creating is very very fulfilling and I think it satisfies a very deep human need to work with our hands and to see the process of what we're creating what rebuilding and so on that realm. It just satisfies me very deeply to be involved in a lifestyle that allows me to do those things and that sentiment of becoming a create. A really is just so beautiful. I love that So not everyone is ready to fully commit and start their own homestead. So what are some ways to incorporate natural living into everyday life? I love this question because I feel like kind of by default the term setting or homestead or feels really big it was like jumping off cliffs. And so what? I liked to remind people that it's not about necessarily selling everything you own in moving to cabin on eighty acres or buying a milk cow. Although if you WanNa do those things that's fabulous really. It's about little choices that you're making every day for a lot of us whether you're a home center on a lot of land or your home staying home sitting in an apartment because yes that is possible or you were home. Senator from eighteen sixty five is all about the food. Everything hinges on food and food production. So if you can start making better or conscious choices with what you're eating and how you're eating maybe making it yourself instead of buying everything prepackaged that's going to set you up for a lot of success in the whole setting role and I think that's Great. And that such a simple thing that people can incorporate like you said wherever they are whatever stage they might be as just paying attention to their food making sure that they're making the best choices they can absolutely so you have been involved with. Tara for a little while now as well. What does tear products have helped you in your goal for a natural life and and I think my whole being drawn to Tara. It came as a result of this home setting lifestyle in starting to be more conscious of what we're eating in what we're putting on her skin in. What's in my home so I use them lot for our home sitting efforts we use them on our animals to help with hats to help soothe and calm our animals. We use them a lot in the garden during that time of year. Where fighting the bugs for my cabbage and Mike Samedan and saw makes up different sprays to help repel different insects. Use them on the kids when they're out and about a very active so we use them to help with those sort of issues but yeah the oils definitely go hand in hand with studying very very naturally so with your experience. Could you tell us maybe your top two or three oils that you would recommend for people to use for a more natural life a very hard question. I know it's hard to pick from all of different products. We have it is like what's your paper and I'm like you know I've been doing this for eight years. I shouldn't I should have cancer. And I don't because it changes if I had pick two oils specially. Luckily it's geared towards the homestead lifestyle with a lot versatility. I think peppermint would be a big one because it's great for sprang on your plant. It's great for after you've been out in the sun it's great to wake you up when you have a. Lotta chores to do his Levin and then another one I think would be maybe Frankencense to put in different lotions. I have abused Frankencense on my milk. Cow I put on her utter win. Her other needs a little extra. Tlc You put it on a kid so you know the top. What I'd say those two would be oh to use for any home center. Will those both sound like amazing powerhouses to have in helping you with your natural life dill for different kinds of resources on home studying? Where can I go to find little tips and tricks so I probably have to wait to my blog? They've had a lot of tips and tricks on their. The prairiehome dot com is a great place for lots of recipes tutorials. Instructional lost a lot of good books at your library. I've noticed that A public libraries are adding more farm homestead topics to their collections. So go check that out first and see what you can find. And then you can kind of build your collection of resources from there Jill. My final question for you is. Just what would be your advice to someone who is looking to start out on this home studying path. I would say number one. Don't over think it or don't think that the stars have to align just right for you to take that first step it's really a process of just starting in your little nervous or you're a little apprehensive. What favorite quotes is action? Here's fear so if the chickens or maybe starting to sour dough bread or learn how to cook the Tortillas or whatever you feel drawn to just try you're GONNA mess up. I mess up still on Regan just dive in and if you're not sure where to Divan just go back to the food start. Maybe picking one thing that you buy a lot of in learn how to make it from scratch. Maybe it's bread. Maybe it's cream of mushroom soup. Maybe it's homemade bra. But as you start the little baby steps it turns into a Snowball Rolling Downhill picking up momentum critic quick and it's a whole lot we'll deal. Grand Prize is every authentic product product line was going to produce in two thousand twenty. So thank you for that all right as I said. It's my favorite episode of the year. Weaver is here from autoweek. Jerry Jordan is here from kicking the tires. In whatever else he does of seventeen million things and Jacobs Ailment is here from sport or anything. Do you have seventeen outlets as well. Jake it sprint car midget to okay. Don't dot net kicking the tire. What did I 'cause because Oh 'cause I just said kicking the tires? Oh and it's all about branding. Listen listen if we're doing it this way. We forgot short-track seen to. I'm sorry weaver. I apologize for that sort tracksuit multiple multiple things were as. You're so great and mighty that you only have to do one. I wish that was true. I really really do. I wish that was true anyway. Let's talk some racing. The two thousand nineteen season is officially over. And I mean officially because inspection is complete. We have a champion and we have a race winner. And that is Kyle Busch. I I gotta be honest with you. I probably would have said he was the least likely of the Florida win this championship. In my opinion and He kind of went out and and spanked the field in a way because he led the most laps and really was upfront. I think the statistic on NBC sports was he was out front most of the title contenders not just out front the race but of the in the title hunt he led the other three the most tonight. So let's get it started here pass around the microphone. What does everybody think of? Kyle Busch now a two time Monster Energy Nascar Cup series champion as Braxton. Bush is over here Sitting in the trophy for the photos hate that. I'm missing this because I actually tweeted earlier. That the IT Kyle tried to get him in the Monster Cup earlier tonight and bricks and said I'm too big too big. Well I guess he suddenly not that big after all all all it took was kyle tossing them in the air a couple times which is what he really wanted so now cal is getting what he wanted. which is Braxton in the Cup But but to answer your question I I love this scene. I love doing the brought us over to this side. As opposed to the blind side and this side is before the start finish line so the turn four side of the front stretch chair at homestead Miami speedway the photos are still being taken. Confetti is everywhere lots of Toyota people. Lots of Number eighteen people. Of course Joe Gibbs racing people just. It's the party is still ongoing. I don't know if Kyle dominated but I'll say this. I think that his team made the fewest mistakes. He almost pretty much a mistake. Free Race but the main takeaway and we'll get into the mistakes. In a couple of minutes the main takeaway to me was and a season and that was so contentious so so aggressive so downright moody is kind of fitting that. Kyle Busch exemplifies much. That is the champion of this really frustrating season in this rules package that he hates weaver. Isn't that the most. Is this the most Kyle. Busch thing that could have happened this year. That the package Vic Kelli Kelli. You're already laughing at me. 'cause she knows where I'm going only with this that the package that Kyle just absolutely vilified for ninety five percent of the year that he hated that you know as a driver. He just didn't didn't want to deal with and he comes out on top as the champion of set package for twenty nineteen. Just shake my head at it But he drew the parallel Adam. Stevens threw the parallel Kelly. It's just like two thousand fifteen isn't it. They got hot early or in fifteenth case. When Kyle came back they got hot and then they cooled off for? Most of the rest of the year didn't do squat the first nine races the playoffs and then boom get to homestead Miami. Flip the switch. And here's vintage. Kyle Busch doing exactly what he does to go out and not only win the race but win the championship. And I love again that you had to win the race to win this championship. Second was not going to be good enough and Martin Darn sure made sure that yeah. We'll talk about not having to win the race to win the championship. A little bit in a in a little bit and we talk about the truck series. Because we're GONNA cover it all Jerry. He's now a two-time cup ops series champion. That's pretty impressive. It is pretty impressive. He's one of only two drivers on the active list right now. That can say that Jimmy Johnson's the other one No other driver throughout their houses championship. That's active in the cup series so And nobody actually nobody until now until Kyle we can say had won two championships under this elimination style. Format Matt so once again Kyle Busch becoming the first to do something and you know He. He likes record books. He likes that. You know. That's part of what it is and You know he as he I said tonight. He's popular just not in the way that will get him the. NPA most popular driver award still the fans. Cheer or Boo as they will he gets respect regardless of whether or not Kyle Busch is light. I'm reading twitter all night people. Oh said Yeah I hate him but I gotta give him props he can drive a race car. Count like Tony Stewart. Another former Joe Gibbs racing driver what it was about Joe that attracts troublesome drivers Wells v Cup Championship for Joe Gibbs as an owner. His Organization has won nineteen races this share. which is the most for a team? Since Hendrick motorsports one eighteen in two thousand seven most of any team in the modern era period. We'll end yeah. I was just making We everybody was looking at that. Eighteen number from two thousand seven that was back during Hendrick was just ripping everybody to shreds with with Jimmy Johnson and Chad Canal so fifth championship for Joe. Second for Kyle. I mean Martin misses out on a second. So let's let's so then the guys who lost they all made mistakes. I mean in a way you could argue that. All three of them beat themselves absolutely because as the nineteen team. I put the wrong tyres on the call. Well they put tires on the car. It started with that then they stayed out longer on the final run. Didn't pit until till five laps after Kyle Busch Denny Hamlin so by that point. He's I believe he was ten seconds behind. I clocked it at ten seconds. That's what I saw on the scoreboard. Yeah he cut it down to four point five at the Finish Kevin Harvick finishes fourth or fifth four and fourteen seconds. Back Fourteen seconds back. They stayed out fourteen laps longer and were twenty five seconds behind at one point more than that. I think harbut actually uh-huh laugh himself. Well he did but I'm talking about like yeah. It was twenty five seconds at one point and then the eleven team. Good God I mean this team. In my opinion I have said it. All Year long was destined to win the championship kinship. They blow.

"About that website yeah and so for those of you there taking notes notes at home and you carry product that's how interviews done right there that wasn't bad thank you that wasn't bad yeah so the funny thing you talk about people checking out my website and stuff all season long been hitting news topics of joy because i think he's an interesting story he's been compelling thing to follow all season long with the great runs these head and all the different cool paint schemes and things things so i come to interview him at a texas in the garage and i walked up my headquarters toby christie you're the christie is pretty funny funny it was a good time and it was awesome for him to to chisel out some time in his schedule for that they've got a lot of sponsorship it's becoming that way in the thirty two team and it looks like corey should it'd be good to go next season and a thirty two car based on what we talked about an interview and based on what we've heard the car owners say as well so looks like he should back next season that car that must have felt the good on both your parts that he got to meet his celebrity i must have been star struck by i don't know if you start struck by me but i i thought it was cool at least recognized who i was based on the name and stuff he knew who i was which was nice so that's always good you know how you're doing well do do you know when you're doing well in nascar media how well when you ruffling feathers of the other nascar media members they are indifferent about you in some ways there was some there are some funny moments by don't really do too much and and blast anyone but it was pretty funny there was some but if you're flying under the radar nobody gives a crap app what you're doing yeah i agree i agree but yeah there are a couple of moments where there was a little bit hostility then the media center about what i'm doing and i think it's funny it's like you know if you're that threatened by what i'm doing just do what you're doing and if you're happy with what you're doing that will work out man don't worry about it you know like it keep doing what you're doing i'll keep doing that all right news of the week cue.

"I guess it'd be nine drivers that finish before victory lane so brad keselowski enjoy llegado the couple of penske drivers there and lugano looked like he was heading towards victory lane there right before the start the third third stage and then things got really crazy really fast form that too they may one little one little adjustment and it snapped super tight and they couldn't rebound from he actually went a lap down and look like he was out to launch but few late cautions getting back into the end of the mix but man ninth places huge disappointment for giuliano yeah if you left for the restroom while joey was leading and you came back you'd be like was this the same race like how is this possible they must have a rain delay his last year's event it was bizarre i it just i don't know how you could go that far on just to air pressure adjustment is what it sounds like they made yeah that's that's that's a big difference i don't understand it's that desert air i'm telling you it's drier heavier something definitely some guy named clint boyer never heard of him but he's here at number eight yeah so when you look at the top ten you've got all of the playoff drivers here i believe except for one right maybe two anyway everybody above these two here in eighth and seven playoff drivers so clinton boyer and eric jones were the two first highest ranked non-playoff drivers in this thing but boy you're pretty good run art intrigues junior there at number six he's one of the championship for which i guess i just gave it away kevin harvick as well number five kyle larson needed hail mary needed did a win didn't get it done but man how frustrating is it for kyle larson and ryan blaney to be that close to the front he could taste it or they could taste it you know it ask frustrating on one hand but on the other both these guys have not been very good at phoenix over the years so i think the fact that they were able to rise to the occasion and have a top five run on an attractive they're not very good at typically a must win situation like that i think that speaks volumes for their determination the season i think it says a lot for how a fast they were when they need to be fast the season so i think going forward for twenty twenty this should give them a boost in the arm going man if we can get a top five at our worst track when we really need a good run that's that's pretty good then you got kyle busch at number two so we now had to victory lane oh back to kyle busch did you think there were any team owners did you do you think he was holding back at all i don't see kyle busch being a guy who who would listen to any team orders yeah i don't need especially with twenty one race losing streak he he'll win if he can win yeah he'd punt his grandmother if he had to so let's go to victory it means it's got to be a teammate right so denny hamlin picks up the w when he had to because if he didn't joey would have been in and denny would have been out so he had to go the victory lane he does so and here he is talking words so wanted to choose the top simply because i thought that if i went into turn one side-by-side i'd rather be on the high side i thought that i'd seen kyle get a pretty good run and the attraction stuff on a few restarts and i saw it in a few restarts in the truck races well so i just thought that if i was going to be at a deficit of grip versus my competition i had the option to go up there and get more it was going to be a longer distance but i had the option to go up there and get the the grip that they didn't have and so i think that that was the reason i did it and luckily it all worked out for sure especially having the twelve under there um with two tires as well you know give me a little buffer there because you know if i'm not sure i would help them off but y- yup our tried and didn't hamilton says the fastest car doesn't always win the race what come on so many different factors that goes into it i mean how many times has the fast car really won the race i i don't know exactly what that number number is but there's just so many elements that can take you out is looking like that lasts caution they were trying to find a way to kick me out of there but just you know like i say it it's it's so difficult to when these racists so when you do and you execute the way we did and and perform the way that we did the always feel like you've got a fighting chance in new at the end of the race last week that we were going to have a fighting chance i had all all the parts and pieces i needed to be to go to phoenix and when the race is just it's all the unknowns that you don't know about so i just made sure i i did my job and chris worked really hard and did his job and have result like that and finally we wrap up this denny hamlin trio and he knew he had to win tanakh joey out which is what we just said but now he's talking about oh well i mean i knew we had options i thought really even after the first stage we still had options but when we finished second to the twenty two in the second stage i knew it was pretty clear i knew that given the cars that were on the lead lap where he was running running that it was going to be difficult even when he was struggling he was hanging around tenth or so that just wasn't going to be enough we're gonna fall you know about six or seven points points short so i i knew that we needed to win but i knew right from the drop of the green flag we had the best car and didn't wasn't always upfront front but i knew like i could just feel a little things in that car that would slide cleaner track or this thing get strung out we're going to be toughened often so i just was patient me and chase had a crazy battle there at the age too where i had almost kind of check myself and bring myself back down to y- ah what this position really doesn't matter the twenty is going to win it's it's unlikely that this position will matter but but but other than that i knew that once we if i could get better restarts i was going to be able to handle this race you're down for this week his crew crew chief chris gebhardt honestly i knew pretty early on and certainly after the first adjustment we had a car capable one in the race and and then it's just a matter are executing you you home right in on your scenario your game plan what it's gonna take to get it done x. execute whatever play you gotta you gotta come up with next and the those are those are great days i mean those days you want to have you know when you kind of control your own destiny and i knew pretty early on there we were going to be as in control role in it of it as as possible and fortunately it all worked out and here's chris again wasn't happy at all with his driver denny hamlin with his comments about you know settling for no championship that is the case comparing himself to mark martin the whole thing and it was a whole to do last weekend at phoenix how how he would be completely content with his career in a in a similar situation as the answer i would expect from him because he is a champion regardless whether we go in next week um i'm he showed everybody why today but that's not my job my job is to be leader this race team in everyone of my players needs different motivation and from me then he gets constant pushing and i i don't expect him to share what was said between the two of us but i told him mm-hmm i told him that a week from now we're going to put that the rest and if we don't it doesn't matter because again to me he proved their champion he is this weekend and and next week is a free role for us it's going to be a lot of fun and i'm looking forward to and here's joe i think chris and danny just we went thirty seven weekends ends erase short-track road racing intermediate solid things that you gotta do and then it comes down to having come to a place like phoenix and say that you have to win and that is so hard in our sport it's a very erasing the best people in the world and so i it can be happier of for koi myself JD call melissa JD's wife life and pat my wife and said JD's going to get to go to homestead he's going to be on that car i really think he's been a part of this whole year for eleven team a emotional today and still am i can't thank everybody enough thrill for me to be a part of this and if it's just an awesome day for us all right so joe has three cars in the final four is odds but how's that going to work for this week and then on sunday we ah basically what's going to happen is we worked together what i love about our sport is we work together to raise shop try and prepare things solve problems moms and when we get to the race track it'll be three cars going for it when you think about this three drivers won a championship their sponsors i mean so much to us each one of them and it's a separate story each one of those and i think it'll be an all out effort you got harvick in the middle of it and i i think it'll be a great weekend but i do love that aspect of our sport which is totally different you know i was in football ball that's one team trying to win with one team this is four teams and then when you get the race track four teams competing against each other so i love that aspect aspect of it and i'm thrilled to be a part of it and we'll all of the information be shared like always here's joe to explain that to us obviously this is the first time you know or something like this has happened i would say that there will be some separation this week guys will be making preparation the crew cheese in particular we all meet and and we'll meet tomorrow but i always say that that's that will be different and but i think our preparation and everything there will be some division this week and i would say at the racetrack obviously is going to be you know are three teams going forward as hard as they can each one of them and i i think if you if you think about that the drivers how important is denny obviously is not one championship chip.
