Caller: A Conflict With Fellow Black Christians

"Good, man. Listen, I really have a real conflict with a lot of my fellow black Christians. Now, they say that they don't agree with them immoral policies of the Democratic Party. But they think that they're not held responsible for voting for them. It's a really confusing thing to me. I've had a girl tell me that she is pro she don't believe in the killing of the unborn, but she's pro choice. I guess she's kind of manipulating the things that we know that God gives all people choice. But the choice in terms of killing babies is a different kind of choice. That's the choice to murder babies. And every Christian should be against it. But they've adjusted that theology to fit this Democratic Party. It's an amazing thing to me. They've adjusted it to fit them. Listen, this is, this is a hard fight and this is one of those issues where I say blacks that don't wake up. You have to kick the dust off your sandals and move on. But there's no way that you can justify abortion. You can't justify abortion biblically. God says he knew you before you were even born. I would quote scripture to her, and I would just ask her if God says this, why do you think that? And don't argue with her, just let her think it through, perhaps when she walks a may away, maybe the Holy Spirit will get a hold of our heart and get a hold of her thinking. But this is, this is nonsense. And I do believe that black churches need to be called out for this. I believe, and I hate to say this, but this is true. I think that Black Lives Matter has had a bigger impact on the black community than the black evangelical church ever has. And it's a sad statement, but it's a true statement. I believe that the black church largely, the black evangelical church, has largely been feckless when it comes to helping out the black community and it's

'Overcoming Evil' Author Rick Joyner Exposes Powerful Evil Strongholds

"To our friend doctor Rick Joyner, JO Y, and he are the book is overcoming evil in the last days. Rick in the, these three strongholds that you mentioned, these strongholds of evil racism, witchcraft, and the religious spirit, there are a lot of people, I think, listening to this program, they're not familiar with some of the language we're using when they hear witchcraft. They don't quite understand what we're talking about. Obviously, we mean the occult, there are dark spiritual forces, all spirituality is not good spirituality. If you believe in the God of the Bible, you know that there are hosts of demons who wore against God's angels. This is called reality folks. This is the invisible reality of the spirit. So Rick, when you say that this is one of the strongholds today, how do you mean it? Well, I think what you're talking about, the occult, is one form. Actually think that is the smaller form of witchcraft. It's like the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the good side of that tree was just as deadly as the evil side. Rooted in human goodness, human idealism and things like that. I think what I would call white witchcraft charismatic witchcraft not speaking of a charismatic movement would have cares human charisma, basically witchcraft is counterfeit, spiritual authority, it's used in any spirit other than the Holy Spirit. To manipulate to control, to dominate, to influence others, even to do the work of God. I believe many Christian leaders are using more counterfeit spiritual authority than they are the real thing.

A Fake News Story Went Viral at a Doug Mastriano Campaign Event

"All time favorite people is joining the program to help us walk through one of the most frustrating fake artificial social media narratives that popped up over the weekend. So it's well known that we are big fans of Doug mastriano. And Doug mastriano has been accused wrongly four weeks. This is a building synthetic narrative of him being an anti semite. That is disgusting. It is a lie from the pit of hell. He's running up against Shapiro, who is Jewish, so they're really trying to play up this narrative, and it is wrong. It's disgusting anti semitism will not be tolerated by anybody and the idea that they're trying to act as if mastriano tolerates it is just awful. It's disgusting. So therefore, not there for then what ended up happening is Doug mosh torano does this event. He's running for governor of Pennsylvania for those of you in the national audience, very important race. And he does a prayer. Now, for those of you that might be in Presbyterian or episcopalian or Catholic circles, I know it might be unusual to see people raise their hands when they pray, no offense to our wonderful Catholics out there. But it's very common in Pentecostal circles. In fact, it happened all the time and it is done to feel the Holy Spirit and it is a physical representation to show that you're touching up towards the divine. It's not only appropriate. In fact, there are verses that support it. And in evangelical circles in particular, not just Pentecostal circles, but in kind of cost it's done more than not. The point being Christian circles, not a nomination, Protestant circles, it's done all the time. And so what ends up happening is this snake Tristan Snell comes out on Twitter and says this is a Nazi salute. People praying at a Doug mastriano campaign event in Pennsylvania. Democracy is literally on the ballot in 2022. It ends up getting three .6 million views on Twitter.

A Prayer for God's Timing

"Let's pray today for the patients to wait on God's perfect timing. Father today we're reminded by Luke's recording in the book of acts that you alone have the authority over the timetable of our lives, and it's not for us to know. But oh, God, how we long to see around the next corner and into a new season of our lives. We desperately want to fix things and know they'll be okay. We long to fix people and know they'll be okay. But you're clear father in your directives for our lives. We will be your witnesses, telling people about Christ Jesus everywhere. Then you supply us with the power of the Holy Spirit to walk out your will in our lives. So father, although we can't have the answers, we want to see, we can hold on to the promise that your plan for our lives is good. To the ends of the earth, where to proclaim your name and live our everyday lives to bring glory to your name. Father, when our daily trials and tribulations are difficult to put at bay, snap our attention and refocus our thoughts on you and your purpose for our lives. This is the day you have made. Help us to rejoice and be glad in it. Not when it's over, not when it goes just the way we wanted it to, but in it. Help us to rejoice and be glad father. We all spend way too much time frustrated over things we can't change and can't foresee. Let us be faithful to look to you in all things on all days and know the authority is yours, and yours alone. Let's be sure if the direction you're leading us every day got and stay faithful to follow your steps. Less our day today and let your will, reign over our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

A Prayer for Pretenders and Patience

"Let's pray. Father stretch our minutes and lengthen our patients, show us how to genuinely love the people you've placed in our lives, lord. Let us not be too busy to connect with our neighbors and have those lengthy conversations while our ice cream melts in the car. Father, we do have time for people, our time is your time. You're the author of our days, and you know the number of them. Your plan for our lives includes loving others. There's no greater task or agenda than to really love them. Show us what it means, father. To hold tight to what's good. We know we need boundaries in our lives and we realize we can't say yes to all the things we want to do or that people want us to do. But the plans you have for us lord. Make time for them. So help us to understand what we're adding to our days, which is not ordained by you. So that we're free to take all the time we need to love the people you put in our paths daily. God, you are love. You love us so much, you gave your one and only son Christ Jesus, so we wouldn't be bound to the limits of this world. In Christ, your Holy Spirit lives in us, directing us daily to who needs us to extend your love to them. Heighten our sense of the Holy Spirit in sharpen our immediate obedience to follow this lead. Bless our lives to shine with the light and love of Jesus father. In his mighty name we pray. Amen.

Christen Limbaugh Bloom Describes Her Spiritual Writing Process

"Talking to David Limbaugh and Kristen Limbaugh bloom about their new book, the resurrected Jesus, the church in the New Testament. So, David, you were just talking about, in a way, I get the impression that you wrote this book for people who want to do Bible study and who want something to read along with the Bible to help explain it to them. Because a lot of times you get a Bible that will have, you know, it'll have a paragraph in front of, if you're lucky, it'll have a paragraph in front of colossians or a couple of bird page, telling you some stuff, but oftentimes that's not enough. So you guys decided to dig into this. Kristen, let me just ask you, what was your process on that? I mean, did you did you read commentaries or how did you go about it? Dad actually helped me learn the software that he uses that goes through all of the different biblical commentary. So I did use that software. I read through different biblical commentaries. And then I actually would, it was kind of a spiritual process for me. I would read the scripture that we were covering and I would actually just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight different things that he wanted to point out and things that he wanted to hone in on in the prayers to help a company, the scriptures that we were going through in the book. And to touch on your point of what you all were talking about earlier, reaching laypeople, I think that Jesus exemplified that more than anyone because he chose his disciples, their fishermen, their these people that are not the scholars of the day, the Jewish scholars of the day. And I think that when people understand that the same Holy Spirit that's living inside of them is the one who lived inside of Paul and helped inspire these profound letters and that are not books in the Bible. It helps encourage us that God can use us in ways that are so profound and so much bigger than what we imagine when we put him or ourselves in a box.

David Limbaugh and Eric Discuss Framing and Deciphering the Bible

"Think Christians sometimes have this magical view of scripture because it's the word of God. They think like if a parrot is reciting scripture, it's just magic. And you think, no, we are actually supposed to understand what it says. If it's anointed by the Holy Spirit, of course, there's this magic element where it can do things miraculous things and, you know, some people are going to be upset with the word magic. Tough luck for you. But the point is, it is miraculous. It is anointed, but at the same time, we are supposed to understand it with our minds. And if you just crack open a Bible, you might not have a clue. Even when somebody, I mean, your chapter has chapter one colossians, a defense against early heresies. So your framing this, you're helping somebody understand, oh, the book of colossians essentially is the apostle Paul dealing with heresies. He's writing to the people in colossi. And it begins to get you into what it is that you're reading. It's not just I'm reading these magic words. And that's another great insight that I share. When I first started reading the Bible, I can't tell you how much I benefited from books about the Bible. But I think you have to have a certain level of discernment so that you don't go off on the extreme wacko people. Right. And I think a gift I've had. And this sounds bragging, but by definition, it's not bragging when you're talking about a spiritual gift because from the Holy Spirit from God is discernment. So I've been able to filter through. And so I've known Earl and plus I had some good mentors early on who are conservative Bible, blade and Christians. But having said that, I mean, I think there's a level of kind of a pure legalism and almost virtual virtue signaling from people. Who say, no, you can't write about the Bible. No, no, no, no. First of all, if you knew David limbo, who it is with whom you are speaking, this then sounds like, you know, the woman at the well. If you knew who it was with whom you were speaking, you would ask me, no, I'm not kidding. If you knew who you're talking to, Eric my taxes, because what you just said, I have gotten for practically two decades. People are like, who what right do you have to write on Dietrich bonhoeffer? You're like, if you wrote for vegetarians, what are your credentials? And you think usually I would say like, yeah, those are my credentials. I can actually communicate, whereas many theologians and many academics who have written on this subject, they may have spent decades researching it, but they don't have the ability effectively to communicate

A Prayer to Help Us Pray Without Ceasing

"Let's pray. Father, God, there can be such a blessing that comes for technology and being able to connect with other people all over the world in just a moment. But this blessing can also become a major distraction from something so much better. Staying connected to you, lord, I repent for neglecting to keep our communication atop priority, and instead allowing an electronic device to become a hindrance to the spiritual discipline of prayer. You call us to never cease from praying, meaning that we should continually look to you every moment of the day. I lift my gaze to you, knowing that's where my help comes from. I lift up my voice to you, knowing that you incline your ear to me as your child. Thank you, Jesus, for making a way for me to have a relationship with my heavenly father. May I never take that relationship for granted. Help me by your grace and the power of the Holy Spirit to remember to keep prayer a daily, moment by moment lifeline. To my heavenly father. In Jesus name, amen.

Overcomers Part-1 - burst 1

"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. And the overcame him by the blood of the lamb, by the word of their testimony in the love not their lives, unto the death. I'm Ron your host, and on this podcast we'll discuss how we can walk is overcomers today. Today, I think we're going to accept one of two things. Either faith or futility. Right. Right. Right? We will either be believers or we will have a sense of frustration and futility that will overcome us. And that's a negative side of overcoming. We do not want that side of overcoming. We overcome because of the blood of the lamb. Because of the word of our testimony and because we love not our lives unto death. Yes. The blood of the lamb, that is simply our acceptance of it, you know, it's not anything we can do about it. The word of our testimony, I have seen so many people and I know we all have who one minute they'll be talking, praying, prophesying, whatever it is, God's going to do this. And as soon as church is over, they go out and say, what a bunch of BS, they negate what we would have thought as faith. If we are saying, I love you, and then we go back somewhere else and show that we really don't, we don't want that type of hypocrisy. We want to speak. I love you, and then you know what? I'm going to show you. Hey, Alan. Point that I'm that I think you're making here is first off, do people understand the power of a spoken word? And I don't think most do. The principle you're laying out is if people have a faith to prophesy or a faith to pray, or even telling their neighbor that they love them, and then the same day the next day, whatever, they are voicing the opposite of what they said in the spirit realm, you just crossed out the good that you created. If you're creating something if you understand that your words, what they're afraid of is something. They're either freighted with the love and the power of the holy spirit. Are there freighted with the negative? Yeah, you're speaking exactly the faith or futility. And if it's faith, it's from a word from God, right? Faith comes by hearing, and so you express what the lord is showing you. And it is going to be out of love. Or as futility in that you're speaking one thing and thinking even that that's not going to work. Out of the mouth comes both bitter and sweet water. I have been actually working on this lately because every time you've voiced anything negative, whether it has to do with what you were talking about or declaring or praying about. It's muddying the water. That's coming out of your mouth. And I have been trust trying, even a negative circumstance is just to voice the positive. Thanking the lord, no matter what, because it makes you stronger for one thing. Every time you exercise that voice muscle, it makes you a stronger person, emphasizing the goodness of the lord rather than the discouragement or whatever. You're talking about having a choice. You're choosing to give in or to have faith in leave. And be thankful in the circumstance. And refuse to be negative. Right. If you create it instead of giving in to it, that's what overcoming is. Because if you don't have something to overcome, you won't become an overcomer. If you don't have something that comes up in your life, the defects you in a possible negative way, you have to make a choice. Am I going to submit to it? And give it to that or am I going to overcome it? Hey, dad. So the choice you have is either being overcome or a victim, just because something happens to you in a circumstance. Or a relationship that's negative, you can feel powerless. Well, they did that to me or this happened to me. That's a stance. You can take that, which becomes, you become a victim, or like you said, you can voice faith, you can be an overcomer. And I don't always do it right. There are times where I obviously voice a negative. I'm believing that the lord's going to make us me a more aware of what I'm doing. And more aware of my choice, I am setting my heart choose to do the opposite. Right. I'm choosing to be thankful. I'm choosing to rejoice. I'm choosing to think of something that is positive and create that instead. You're correcting yourself. You're getting your focus on the lord rather than the circumstance and suddenly you find the openness to the lord, opens up that trust factor that the lord is handling everything, and so you don't need to react to these circumstances. And you're overcoming it. We overcome, Satan by the blood of the lamb. Yes. Yeah. And by the word of our testimony, because of the word of God in our mouth, right? And let's not forget this part. Because we do not love our lives even unto death. Right. So there's this thing of self preservation and the instinct and I think that part of that comes in as this kind of nation where we start, you know, wallowing. This is what's getting refined out of us, right? Was these carnal instincts of the human nature where we were living in self condemnation and we're holding on to things because of a fear and so we don't want to have that we don't want to love our lives even uneven to death. Yeah. I know that's a big tall order. We need to look at those three things together, not just what we voice, because I think what we voice is for now, because we do not love our lives even about the death. We don't have that aspect of it. Work in our hearts. Right. People misunderstand that scripture in thinking that it necessarily is a physical death. I don't think so. I think it is what we have talked about numerous times in relating to the death of the nature that is in us. What you're talking about, the self preservation side of it. I'm giving that over to the lord. I die too my self preservation. Right. Right. You die to certain aspects when your child goes to kindergarten. There's a small death in a mother when they have to let go of that child and let it go to kindergarten. That's true. You know, or to school. You know, when a young man becomes eligible, goes into the military and there's a war going on. Boy, mom and dad both die a bit in letting that child go. I was really intrigued by this word overcome. What does it really mean? And I went through as many dictionary went back through the Hebrew, basically overcoming is arriving at a very important place. When you overcome some of the definitions I come up with was you have control. You conquer. You governed, you're now the master of. That's perfect. So do like the four G overcomes futility. Right. Right. Because you can't have both. You can't have futility and authority overcoming creates, you have overcome something. You now govern it. You've now conquered it. You now a subdued that you're now administering it, administering that all these things are what it means to overcome. What is the fruit of overcoming? We have overcome by the blood of the lamb. What do we do now? We do the works that he did and even greater works will we do because he went to the father. Well on this podcast, we have found that we are going to accept one of two things faith or futility. Speaking God's word positively and creatively into every situation and walking humbly are some simple steps that we can take to become those overcomers. At the lord's looking for. The Joy Set Before Us ! - burst 1

Hello, everyone. I'm Ron, your host, and on this podcast, we'll talk about the joy that is set before us. As the lower disciplines us and we begin to mature, we begin to look for the joy set before us realizing that as we partake of his nature. We will reap the peaceful fruit of his righteousness. Yeah, I think about the joy of the lord as our strength. In his presence is fullness of joy. Even when your bones are broken, you rejoice. Psalms 51, let the bones which thou hast broken rejoice. Basically, how does that work in your life? I had a lot of joy when I first accepted the lord. There was a tremendous amount of joy and just feeling loved and accepted. And then that started to wane over time. I know in a walk with the lord, there's seasons. Not everything was a 100% joy all the time. I think sometimes as the lord's putting us through the things to create us into sons. I want to claim to term it's called mature joy. Yeah. When you're a new Christian, everything's new. And there is a flood of joy and love that you feel. You're experiencing a relationship with the lord that you've never had. It's kind of like a honeymoon experience we've talked about that before. And so there was a lot of joy. There's a lot of love this poured out on you and then God puts you begins to put you through the hoops to become mature, sun, and those not necessarily are very joyful or very happy or very fun. I think your seasoned, it's gotten deeper, it's more intense. It's more focused. And it becomes easier, I think, as we mature because we know what it is. Oh yeah. Kind of like when the lord first meets you and he gives you a three or four M and M's. When you get to a place of maturity, it's like having that really good Swiss chocolate that's kind of what we're expressing here is but with that and going back to what Ron was saying is that's the joy set before us after going through so many things the discipline of the lord and so forth, we now have really come to realize that those scourging and disciplined times there's a joy coming at the other end of it. I think that maybe the maturity process is being cut short. That the maturing process is speeding up. Absolutely. Believe it can be cut short and righteousness. It's what Dale loves to talk about, you know, Jesus was on that cross. Three hours, why should we have to be on a cross for 40 years? That's one thing I really bugs me is this. I just go on. Okay, lord, I love you, but man, why does it have to take so long? I really believe it's that resistance of the nature of the flesh nature that doesn't want the change. Our brains are saying, yes, I want this change in our hearts or saying yes, lord, I need this change. But our inner man is saying, like, hell you do. I think, isn't it in hebrews where he's talking about the chastening of the sun? Correct. Yes. I think that our human mind has been so trained that we think the joy is all about making me feel good. Right. Right. There is a definite side to joy. This still there, but it doesn't feel good. In my case, that's my human appraisal of the situation. That there is a discipline of your spirit, God uses a human situation to discipline you, and then their spiritual discipline that comes. When we're done, there's one major thing that we are thankful. And thankfulness brings worship, worship, brings joy to the lord and returns to us, joy. What you're getting at Deb, how does a mature son of God look at when he comes to change us? Every son whom he receives he chases. Yeah. Throwing out my human mind, there is a joy that God brings with his changing you because he loves you. Yeah, you're talking about hebrews 12 and it really starts and bursts ten and I want to read this because it also fits tightly and to what Deb has been talking about tonight also. And it says he disciplines us for our good. That we may share his holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful. Yet, to those who have been trained by it, have gone through it once or twice before, right? Afterwards, this yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak in the knees that are feeble, and make straight the paths free or feet so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint but rather healed. Christ's joy on the cross was the fact that he knew with what he was doing, that now we would have an open door back to the father that was closed to us in the garden. Right. The joy of having us back with him. Being able to talk to the father being able to be in his presence, which is the one thing that Adam had. Yeah, and now the veil is rent and we are back where we can reach into the father and commune with him. On this podcast, we've seen that as an immature child, discipline is not joyful at all. But as we mature in the lord, the process begins to be shorter, and we realize the joy that is set before us. Experiencing the impartation of God's word through his family is life. The Different Aspects Of Joy - burst 1

What is the joy of the lord? How can we see that joy operating in our lives? I'm on your host, and on this podcast, we'll discuss what is at the very foundation of this joy. And how can we walk in this joy in our everyday life? The whole New Testament is about joy. Yeah. When Christ was born, and the angel said, I bring you good news of great joy. Even when Christ was crucified, it was for the joy set before him. What is joy? Is it a joy that just comes because we want to be happy? The joy is a fruit of the spirit. Unless you have a relationship with the lord, you don't know real true joy. Thinking about the apostles, Paul and Silas were imprisoned. They were beaten badly because of talking about Christ, and yet they sang with joy. They worshiped the lord. That's joy. If you have the joy of the lord, that's when you have the strength. The word joy is used almost 200 times in a New Testament. But we're told repeatedly to be joyful to be filled with joy and the display our joy. I would have a question about this, whether the divine joy is initiated by your will, not by your emotions, or circumstances, or feelings, because if you look at what we just talked about, the two disciples being in prison, they sure didn't have joy by their feelings or their circumstances, so there was something else that that came from that joy didn't come or initiate because of where they were at or what they were going through, but it initiated, I think, through their will. Yes. What you're saying were on is very important. Joy is generated by a relationship. Right, exactly. Because it's a gift of the Holy Spirit, it initiated by where you are in relationship to your father. To your savior, the time that you spend, waiting on the lord, the time that you spend in prayer, my favorite, the prayer of listening. That relationship develops and grows the outcome is his gifts, joy, I think, is one of the primary gifts of the Holy Spirit. As we do, the will of God and there's that word will, Ron. Just setting your will to do the will of God brings joy. Right. Right. Doesn't kindness become easier. If you have joy in your heart, I think there's different aspects to joy. When you have the honest fruit of the spirit, there is nothing that can affect you. Right. Because you're focused and your will is so set on the father and what he wants. It's his ability to go through it. And that's the whole point. We take his on. It's like a jacket you put it on. But it grows. You become a Christian, you don't necessarily all of a sudden have all joy. But when you start going through things when God starts to scourge you and discipline you. Right. Then you learn the joy because he scourging out of us, those things that would keep us out of his presence. That's very true. Because on a human level, we are not going to rejoice always. You're just not. We can't. No. By God's grace and by God's dealings, he can deal out of you the things that would keep you from walking in that scripture rejoice always. This isn't a human thing that you're going to work up to. No. It's God, the author, and the finisher of our faith. If you want the joy of the lord, a house the lord to give it to you. And you will. Absolutely. Don't be surprised. If you start going through things and have your joy tested, are you still going to rejoice in the presence of the lord? Or are you going to give in, you know, to the circumstances? The lord will give you the strength. The joy of the lord is your strength. This is out of Ezra, and this is an interesting story here. And the sons of Israel who returned from exile and all those who had separated themselves from the impurity of the nations of the land to join them to seek the lord God of Israel ate the Passover. And they observe the feast of unleavened bread 7 days with joy. For the lord had caused them to rejoice. And this is Ezra 6 21 through 23. Notice here that it says and the lord had caused them to rejoice, we go through so much chase things and so many different things that I think that as we go through these things, the lord in parts that ability to rejoice into us. He gives it to us. As we grow in our walk with the lord. Right. Right. Right? Without, well, there's no joy. There is really no Holy Spirit gifts without that love that precedes it all. That's true. And because the drive of our hearts boils down to it's all about him. Because he is the author and perfector of what we believe. There is a joy that he loves me enough to turn his attention to help me. In his love he helps us. We can't muster it up. We can't make it work. I can't imagine Paul and Silas sitting in that prison cell or prior to being beaten and been Paul saying, hey Silas, be joyful. How? How do we do it? It's in that relationship. You're talking about with the lord. Right. That's a really good point, Alan because I hear and Christianity, what would Christ do? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, so here's Paul and Silas they're in prison. Paul turns to silence and goes, what would Christ do? No. I don't think so. If it wasn't already imparted to their spirit, if it didn't come out of their hearts because of a relationship they have with the father, no way. Are they rejoicing in that? God gives you joy. To command you. Okay, now what are you going to do with it? Are you going to invest it? Are you going to spread the joy? Are you going to give it to somebody else? Are you going to be a cause going into a situation? Are you going to be a cause of that situation? Turning to joy? There are so many ways that joy can be conveyed. I don't go into a group and say, okay, you guys, you got to be joyful because I say so. You've got a gift. And you're led of the Holy Spirit to open the door for you. Alan and I have the favorite thing of doing. I go to Walmart. I want those most other places because I got Walmart covered. But we look. We look for little kids. You've got because you can get their attention you can smile and you can get so much joy out there out of that you give it back. Yes, it is. And then that opens the door to you talk to mom and dad and pretty soon their family, you know, they're walking away everybody's smiling, dad's rubbing the head of the kid. You change to the whole atmosphere. Yeah, I like that John ten ten. He said, I came that they might have life and might have it abundantly. In his presence is fullness of joy. Let us strive to be in his presence continually. And let his joy exude from us to those around us. Experiencing the impartation of God's word through his family is life. How Jesus Came Into the Life of Officer Brandon Tatum

"You just said, I want to ask you, again, you said Jesus came into your life around 2008. And it began to turn around everything for you. And I said, how did that happen? Jesus came to your life. And you said you were all American college football player. I was all American going into college football, so I was one of the top players in the nation coming out of high school, U.S. Army all American. Okay, I heard you say something positive along those lines and you said, but everything went downhill. What do you mean? Were you full of pride? Were you just thinking so full of yourself and success that it made you lose track of what's important and that's what led you to fall apart or how did what happened? It was mostly maturity, you know? I was very humble, but I wasn't mature enough to handle the rigors of college football. You know, the coaches would cuss you out and yell at you and get in your face. And my attitude was so bad at the time that that turned into me wanting to fight the coaches and be upset and things like that and they kind of took me out of my game and I got injured in my second year. I was out for the entire season. So then things begin to go south for me. However, I grew up in a church. When you, I'll say this, I grew up in a church where the church wouldn't end me. And so when you live in Texas, you play football league go to church, no matter what. I don't care if you ate this. You're in church. If you live in Texas, so I had to retain in my consciousness, but you know, I had to give it a try as an adult. And so I went to church, I went to an apostolic church where they believe in speaking in tongs and all of that stuff and I got saved. I got baptized in Jesus name. I got filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit. And my life changed instantaneously. The

Let's Create One Another - burst 1

"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. How do you see your neighbor? How do you see those in your family? I'm on your host, and on this podcast, the family discusses how important it is to see one another as the lord sees them. The lord does not look at the things people look at, people look at the outward appearance, but the lord looks at the heart. What we want to see is how the lord sees an individual. And that's how we pray for that person or inner seed. That's what we focus on because it's what the lord shows us who that person is, not the things that people go through. That's irrelevant. It really doesn't matter. I knew a pastor and what he would do is occasionally he would write in the middle of his message. He would start talking about someone in the congregation. He would identify somebody and start expressing how the lord showed him about who that person is. And that changed every other person in the congregation how they saw that person. It lifted him up. It caused the rest of the congregation to have a faith for that person that they did not have for them prior to his explanation. That's really what we are to be with one another. What's the lord showing you about me? What's he showing me about you? Lord show me who this person is. That's who I'm holding to you, lord, and intercession. This is a son. This is one of your chosen ones. You become a co creator, it's creating one another. If I come to you with a problem, create me. Don't diagnose me and tell me where I'm wrong. I already know that. That's a given that whole principle of creating and being thankful to express yourself in Thanksgiving or to tell them things that the lord's showing you about them, they don't know how to take that. Because it's something that's not normal to the human realm. It's not normal to the human relating human nature is negative. It looks at things that it calls it well, that's just that's the facts. Right. You know, I know me, this is my facts about me. I know my world, you know, this is what everybody thinks this is what the culture thinks. This is taking that right out of that realm. And so you're talking about going against the grain. Very much. How do you impart a Thanksgiving? Well, I think when we're talking about this, we have to start simple. Sometimes you can only start with simple things. You're so kind. You're so loving. You seem to be so caring. Starting on simple things with simple things, but remember, we're ministering to others that are in different places. That's good. I take time and I actually ask the lord teach person I talk with and sometimes, I'll go up to someone and say, do you really know how important you are? Do you know that there is much more in your life that's going to be happening than you're aware of? It's like you create a person's life that way. You help create you in part. You put in a spirit of anticipation and expectation that something is going to happen for that person. That changes a lot because it helps reduce or eliminate hopefully the negativity that everybody keeps telling them, oh, you're not worth two cents. Everybody wants to put everybody down. So if you come in and you start creating, you are important. You are an amazing person that God is going to use. Who me? Yes. Yeah, you. And then look at Gideon. What are you talking to me about who's this man of valor, you're talking about? I can't see anybody else. It's not me. Yes it is. Yes it is. You create a person. You take the opportunity. You have the ability to create in someone's spirit, life. Because we have been imparted life, we can impart that life to anybody, and you ask the lord, right, you ask the lord specifically, what do you want to say to that person? I mean, in your heart, as you're talking to them, okay, what do I say, lord? How do I handle it? You know, do you want me to say anything? Or do you not me want me to say anything? There's one way that I found that works every time. And I don't care if they're brand new, or they've been around for years. And that is, I thank God for you. Yes. And what that does is that draws God through that person. In a way that they did not understand. Because now they're thinking is, I've got to understand what this guy's talking about. He thanks God for me, and all of a sudden he's looking around and who's there. God's there. Because we drew him into the situation. We draw cod into the situation of our relationship. Of what may be bothering one or both of us, we want to be positive in what we say to somebody. I thank God for you, sandy. And we can say it. And we can believe it. Every way we can we're bringing God into the situation, a person that's new to a deeper revelation or a deeper walk with God is to somebody to come along and encourage them by bringing God into it. And you don't even have to say the name God. If it's not appropriate, love, that's God. Just love them. Well, after this podcast, I think we need to ask the lord to open our eyes to see how he sees and how he loves one another. Then we can begin to create one another by his love flowing through us. Learning The Voice Of The Lord - burst 1

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Hello, everyone. I'm Ron, your host, and on this podcast will be focusing on learning the voice of the lord. We must wait before him and have our spiritual ears train to hear that still small voice. There's this thing called head knowledge. Where you can have a head knowledge of the scriptures and you can acknowledge in your mind and believe in your mind but have no experience. Yeah. Exactly. With the word at all, and it's crucial to have experiential knowledge with his word because that's what works at in your heart and in your spirit. Otherwise, you know, it's not real. It's not a lie. And so, you know, you ask the question, how are we able to hear the voice of the lord? The ear that hears is the ear of the servant. The love slave. The man who humbles himself before the lord. Those are the folks that actually hear what God has to say. And he says my sheep know my voice. You can tell it so obvious when somebody's speaking is that the lord speaking or is it just somebody talking? It's probably one of the hardest things to teach because it's an individual experience. You know, honestly, you get somebody that praise for you to have ears to hear. That really is where it comes from because none of us are here except that somebody prayed for us. Right. Jesus said that my sheep hear my voice and they follow me, a stranger they will not follow and is that there's something innate when you open up your heart and accept the lord. Yeah, that's an important key what you're saying Laurie because hearing the voice of the lord is based upon a relationship. Right. And you were talking earlier about head knowledge. Yeah, you can know that Bible from one end to the other. The whole bit, but unless you have a relationship with the scriptures, it's never going to mean anything to you. Right. I think one of the things that kicks off a true relationship is Salvation. Because he can yell at you all day long, but when you turn around and you say, I open my heart to your lord, that's the beginning of a relationship. And I think that's where the voice of the lord, as we learn it over our growing in that, that it starts with you speaking back because he's been speaking for a long time. You just weren't listening. Right. When you answer, here I am, lord. What Samuel say? Would Eli teach Samuel to do? Here am I. Here am I. That to me is a place of beginning. What I love is that the actually the voice of the lord can come and appear in many forms and in many applications. You know, I mean, the worst case you have is balaam, right? The donkey. We'll say the donkey talk with him. That was the voice of the lord. But your circumstances can talk to you as we are talking, you know, and the lord speaks through a vessel that's like, I know that voice. I don't care who's talking. I know that's the lord coming through. Here's the question, what are some safeguards? We are believing that like Jesus, we actually must hear from God. Right. There is a natural response of skepticism when someone says God spoke to me. Yeah. I love it. Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. And that's first John or one. And some of the safeguards here are humility, authority, submission, witness, confirmation and covering. Regardless of how much God reveals to you, even if you could write a whole new Bible, you still must submit it to those who are over you in the lord. There has to be confirmation. Right. Right. And we're learning that we have confirmation with each other. That we can trust in each other if they're looking for it. Because some people don't don't try and look for it. They just, I just want to hear the voice of the lord. And then they run with it. They just go on from there and say, that's a voice of the lord. Without confirmation without anything. So yeah, you're right. There's a couple of other things about the voice of the lord. There is a couple of keys in the scriptures that help us fine tune our hearing God speak to us, Romans 8, verse one. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Right. If you're listening to somebody speaking, there's something just not right, and you, you feel a condemnation, that's not from the lord. The accuser of the brethren, a rat poison, 99 and 4400 percent pure, there again, you develop an ear for that. Yeah. God not going to come and accuse you of anything. He's going to come to you and he's going to say, come up higher. Yeah. He'll say, I've made a provision for you called grace. I'm going to teach you I chase in every son whom I received. And that is hugely positive. If you hear a voice telling you that a chastening is a bad thing, that's not God. Yeah. That's right. So you're saying it was a good thing because it's what God puts you through by his hand to make you a son. And God has been speaking to you. Since the dawn of your conception. All she wants to do is bring you into his family. Yeah. And listen carefully to what that voice says and Ron and I were talking about this the other day. I flat out asking misses Ron what voice is used when God speaks to you, and he says, my own, I laughed, I said, there's nothing wrong with that. God uses your voice to talk to you so you'll listen and understand. But that's true. Many times, as we are one on one with God, he's using your voice. What did Jesus do his entire ministry? He did what he saw the father do, and he spoke what he heard the father say. That is the revelation of the father. Where does the father speak? Samuel classic example, Samuel. Four times before he understood what he was supposed to do. And then you have people like Elijah, who lived in the presence of the lord, I am sure they communed quite a bit. You know if you're in his presence, at least you're listening. You may not have a lot of questions. Because in his presence, there's no nothing amiss, if you will, it's peaceful, it's really calm, it's wonderful, place to be. I recommend it. I really do. But we used to talk about practice the presence of the lord. Yes. If you hear the voice of the lord and your response, he will give you the confirmation or he will show you what he's doing. But when you hear what he's saying and you act upon it, what you're talking about earlier, Lori, it's that action upon his word that were Dale's talking about where he will talk to you again. You create that relationship, you build it up. By listening and acting upon what he speaks. Right. This is critical though, what you're saying. This waiting on God and tying it into learning his voice before you will understand on how to wait on him. I really believe that God may 1st put you through some very deep afflictions. And difficult dealings basically drives you into him. Yeah. Out of those deep dealings though, you get this motivation to seek his face and to hear what he has to say. So it's very critical, semantics work, your relationships, and having it confirmed and that's the only way to have a 100%, you know, you're on the right track with the lord. And hearing this and walking with him. One of the things that always struck me was it seemed like Christ spent a lot of time in prayer. There was a term that I've heard for a number of years now. And that's the prayer of listening. I really think that Christ spent a lot of time doing that. His prayer was a prayer of listening. I think that is, that's something that we develop in a relationship. Yes. We learned to be quiet, saddle our mind, take control of our spirit, end listen. Lord said be skill and know that I am God. Today we've heard that it is crucial that we have experiences with the lord in the scriptures and not just a bunch of head knowledge. This is the experiences with him as the word of God that opens up a deep relationship with him to truly hear his voice. The lord is speaking to each one of us, are we listening? When We Pray Together - burst 1

Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Hi, I'm Ron, your host, and on this podcast, we will talk about what happens when we pray together. Just what does it mean to confess our sins one into another? But there's this battle that's ongoing, right? We have the fiery darts of the enemy that are attacking us and stuff. So we have something that can help us with our with our mind. Where you go, okay, you know, something gets into your mind and you go through it and it becomes an obsession. How can you keep that from happening? You're set your heart set. You're giving Thanksgiving to the lord, boy. But this one thing just comes in like a fiery dart just eats at you and eats at you. And there's this whole thing of the helmet of Salvation, right? Of the hope of Salvation. That the peace of God would surpass all comprehension shall guard your hearts and your minds in the peace of God, hey, Lori, I got a question for you in that because I hear what you're saying. And I'm just throwing this as a question out to the group. When you get in that place like you're talking about whether something, whether it's a problem or it's obsessed. Yes. Where your mind just will not let you sleep, you can't, you can't shrug it. You can't throw it off. It's just there. And bug in the living heck out of you. Because I've tried different things and I can't see I've been very successful with that. That's the point where you call for help for your brothers and sisters. Like I said, I've tried to do it as an individual. You get up at night, your brain just keeps you up in your 3 o'clock in the morning. You finally go, you know what? This is flipping crazy. I can't sleep. My mind won't shut off about whatever problem it is. So I get up, you know, I get in the word, or I go worship, pray and tongs, does it help? Yeah, it helps a little. But it doesn't. It doesn't get that fiery dart or what that thing out of your brain. So it's true. That's true. Do you reach into the relationships your brothers and sisters, those that are close to you and say, hey, look, you know, I'm not trying to lay something on you, but help me with this because this thing is eating my lunch, but for a better word, you know? I totally agree with you, rod. You kiss can't overcome it. And you're not meant to you're meant to draw on that people around you. So all call someone and talk to them about it and say, I can't get over this, then we'll just pray together and then it tends to have left. Right with that, you don't have to be specific. God knows what you're going through. And you just talk to someone and say, man, I've got this thing going on. Can you pray with me about it? Yeah. That is honestly the act of submission because you're opening your heart. Once you give a specific, then that puts a seed in somebody else's brain and then their brain starts running with that seed. And you've just imparted to them your problem. They don't need or their opinion. Now they've got an opinion about it or whatever. Correct. That's true. You just created something that you didn't want. So you just say, please. I've got this issue, pray with me about it. Right. And then let it go because that's where the freedom comes from. God knows everything. Good, bad, ugly, indifferent. Doesn't matter. He knows everything in relation to what you're going through. And the power of prayer is so much more than most people realize, in that because it's the body ministry. It's the body feeding itself. It's the body holding one another up. And like Debbie saying, you can not do it alone. You know, Alan, this fits right in because if you talk to somebody about your problems or what you're going through, it puts in a weight on them. And it's hard for them to get over that without having some sort of an opinion. If you tell somebody, well, I just have this thing going on. I don't want to talk to about it, but I just want you to pray with me. It's kind of again trusting the lord. Again, it's that same spirit of Thanksgiving and trust in going lord, you know what's going on here. I'm not going to lay a burden on my brother or sister about this, but I do need help. We know that God moves through human beings. And so as when you start drawing upon the body of Christ, if they can just pray with you without knowing the problem, it's probably more effective than knowing the problem. Right. Because it gets their minds out of it. Thigh kingdom come, thy will be done, has nothing to do with what I think about whatever it is you're going through. It doesn't matter. In everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. So what he's saying here is, if we have our minds set on the lord and it tells you in the word to think of these things that are lovely and of good report and a virtue so that you don't get captured by those things that snare you. And then there's a verse in Isaiah as well that says that will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusted in thee. Many of the times when we reach out to one another, we're asking for intercession to in a few ask for prayer the old terminology while tell me what's bothering you so I know what to pray about. Not the old way of doing things. It doesn't work in this day and age. And when we're in receding for one another, we don't need to know what the problem is. I think it's coming to the point where we have to really recognize what's happening. God is looking to create us. Giving ourselves to, to being created and cutting off the negative, but lord show me who this person is. That's who I'm holding in your up to you, lord, and intercession. This is a son. This is one of your chosen ones. This person trusts you. You become a co creator. Well, everyone. On this podcast we've learned that we are not always able to overcome everything by ourselves. When we have issues of circumstances that we can not overcome, we should call on those who will pray with us to see the victory come forth in our lives. Relationship Based On Thanksgiving - burst 1

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving. Let your request be made known unto God. Hi, everyone. I'm Ron your host, and today we're talking about being thankful in all things in our lives. Being thankful is not always easy, but it is a learned response. Being thankful, places God, in control over our lives and shows him that we trust him. Grace after meal, that is where the promise of when your crops will grow for the next season. Is if you give thanks after meal. I think that is an example of what Thanksgiving is supposed to be. It says give thanks and all things. And so it's the little itty bitty, I stud my toe, thank you, lord. Yeah. That's probably a tough one right there. Into the major, someone says you've just been diagnosed with cancer, you're going to die in three days, you know. Thank you, lord. Thank you. No, it's because we have no control over much of anything. We think we're like the cat's meow on this planet, and my goodness. We are so subjected to so many things. That we have no control over this. But in giving him thanks. Yes, it gives him control over those things. Right. That we do not. You know, Alan too, it also, to me, becoming real to me is it's telling the lord that he is the lord, and that you recognize him as the lord. And that you are thanking him because you're saying your plan, whether I understand it or not, or even like it or not. I am praising you, I'm worshiping you. You bet. And your perception about life's going to change. I like what you were saying about grace after meal now and because if you look at it, look at where we're at today in Christianity you might say, we talk about blessing the food before weed. We thank God for the hands of prepared it and we bless it to be nutritious. And that gives us a certain perspective that the food we're looking at on the table. But grace after real gives you a whole new perspective. Because now you're a partaker of that meal, and because of that, our Thanksgiving is far more effective. You can thank God for something you don't have in anticipation of appropriating it and receiving it. But even greater should be your Thanksgiving be, when you receive it. Thanksgiving, as we mature in our ability to be thankful, it gives us an attitude that's different. And that's based on grace after meal, because actually what we're doing is we're growing in our attitude towards God, he's created a people who love him, want a worship him, want to be thankful, and in return, he gives back to you a relationship, built upon Thanksgiving. You can't really have thankfulness for everything unless you really have learned to trust the lord, and it's a thing of openness. And an assurance that God is impotent, and he is looking over you as a father, and he loves you. And if you can trust that, more than anything else that comes to your mind, whether you're going through something bad or something good comes to a real thankfulness and appraise, and that's what God is looking for. I think you hit something really important, sandy, because not only, you know, what we've been kind of mentioning is being thankful for all the bad things and all the things that happened, but the children of Israel kind of forgot about giving thanks about all the good things God did for them. When they were in the wilderness, my God, they were complaining about everything, and they forgot to give them thanks for what he had done, and what he was doing. We need to give thanks in all things. The good, the bad, the ugly, everything, everything. Yeah. You know what? If you start living in that realm, I think it's taking you out of the human, reasoning realm, and it's also taking you out of being dominated by your emotions and your feelings. I don't think we realize how much we're dominated as human beings by our emotions. Or our circumstances or our reason. Those three things really dominate our life or can dominate our life. I think it's a principle. And I think there's an initiative that we have, as believers, first off we have to trust, we have to believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seeking. We have to trust him, well, there's a lot of things that trust him on right now if he asks me. Because there's a lot going on out there that I wouldn't agree with on one level. I wouldn't agree with it. I don't like it. I don't agree with it. But I have to trust the lord. I don't have to. I determined to trust you. Yes. Yes. It's a thing of faith and trust. It's a huge change. In the way of life, but I think that it keeps your spirit right, your attitude, right? If you're just loving him as a loving father, and trusting him, and thanking him, and it's an expression, you have to express something right, and all day long, things go on with your life, relationships, circumstances, whatever goes on, and you have that choice, 24/7, how are you going to express what's in your circumstances? Right. Okay, just like Ed and Deb. Air conditioner went down. They could be moaning and complaining, be upset, why is this happening to us or you know why now? We just got back from being the Texas and now here we are. We come home and we find our air conditioner and it's hotter than heck in the house and we can't sleep and so you could have that attitude. It's a choice. Or you can go yeah, it's all those things, but I choose to voice my thankfulness. I choose to voice my trust in the lord and out of this, you know, whatever comes out of it comes out of it because he's in my life. And he is, he is so much in our lives. Right. And he is in control. And I know that. And I trust in that, and I believe in that. And I remind myself, I have to remind myself, sometimes, when I feel overwhelmed by certain things, that the lord is allowing things for a purpose, and I may not see or know why I may not know how he's going to do it. I don't know anything, but I do know that he is faithful. And he is true, and his word is through. And I believe in his word, and I trust in his word, I trust in who he is, and isn't integrity is more important than anything else. For each one of us, he has the best, even though it doesn't feel like it, sometimes. Start thanking him for the things that you have. And just worship it for who he is. Being thankful and having a Thanksgiving in our hearts is a form of worship. There are many, many aspects to worship. I mean, if you look at what Ron was saying, what's going on in the world right now, you know, you could call it a worldwide brownout, the world is facing the four horsemen of revelation. People are afraid, plagues are breaking out, men's hard or failing them for fear, right? Right. But it's the way it's supposed to be, but what are we doing? Right? We're looking up because we know our redemption is drawing nigh, and we're worshiping the lord, the thing of thankfulness is truly an expression I looked it up one of the things of Thanksgiving is gratitude. The word Thanksgiving gratitude there so many words that describe it, but it's how you act, and somehow when you take that extra step. There's something extra comes with it. There's a sincerity and honesty and importation, take a person by the hand, look them in the eye. Say, you know, I really thank you for that. I feel I felt your heart as you expressed what you were saying. It becomes an exchange of relationships. And see, that's what we want with the father in our Thanksgiving in our praise in our worship. We want that exchange. With the father, we're not worshiping a far off. Where worshiping at the foot of his throne, as you learn and come into a relationship with the father, you learn what he wants, you learn what he expects. And that's what we are learning is what God is expecting from us. He's given us so much. In my life, and I think in many people's lives, you don't feel thankful through your day. Right. It's not a feeling. That's true. You know what I'm saying? Your emotions are not and your feelings, and even your reason doesn't line up to what God wants, from your heart, and that's why I think you have to start with a set of heart, a set of will. I'm going to be thankful today, no matter how I feel, no matter what transpires through the day, you have to start at least I do. Yeah, oh, I do too. You got to set your will. That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be easy. By any means, but it is a set. I think of your heart first. I think as you keep doing it, it becomes easier. So it's a matter of deciding that, of course, I trust the lord, and of course I love him, and I know that he's wanting the best for me. So as you keep practicing it, it becomes easier and easier. Being anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication, with Thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Are giving of thanks to him in control of our lives. We really can not be thankful unless we've learned to trust him, our thankfulness in all things is our expression of worship and through this our father is directing our lives. Greg Laurie Had an Interesting Encounter With Kris Kristofferson

"I'm talking to pastor Greg Laurie, who is writing books, making films, they haven't seen you at church in years. What's going on with you, man? Are you back? No, listen, this is exciting. The new book is a Lennon Dillon Allison Jesus, the spiritual biography of rock and roll. I want to talk to you about the film, the new film. But before that, in your book, do you mention Chris christofferson? Because obviously he's not really thought of as a rockstar. But I know he's somebody that came to faith at some point. Yeah, I do actually talk about him. I also wrote about him in my book, Johnny, on Johnny Cash. Funny thing you talk about recognizing celebrities. So I was working on this documentary film about Johnny, and I watched some interviews with Chris that were more recent. So I flew out, came back to LAX. I'm walking to my car. I see this guy from the back and somehow I recognize him from the back. From the back. See, that's next level crazy stuff. That's like, that's like Holy Spirit stuff. Flesh and blood is not capable of recognizing somebody from the back, you're telling me you're not kidding from the back, you said, I think that's Kris Kristofferson. Yeah. So I walked over and I said, oh, Chris, and Greg Laurie, I've written this book and I held up my Johnny Cash book, and I said, and I quote you in the book, Chris, and I'd love to send you a copy. He gave me his address. I sent it. He wrote me back. And said he was going to read it. He was very nice men

Grace To Become And To Do

"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. There were behind the veil. Hello, everyone. I'm Ron, your host, and on this podcast, the family talks about God's grace. We'll see that it's not by rules that we grow in God. But by his grace and deep love for us all. You know, we're talking about grace, you know, the real definition behind it and Dale has said this many a time is unmerited favor. We don't earn it. It's something God chooses to bestow on people. He is so willing to be graceful and give grace. Its, by grace that we approach him with boldness, Christ died for us, his blood was shed for us, covers us, and that's what allows us to enter into his throne room with that grace, and with boldness, what I would encourage people is to try it. Approach the father, approach God and say, hey, your son died so. That means I can be saved. That he loves so deeply and so thoroughly that he would rather have somebody approach him with a hunger, rather than just ignore him and turn and walk the other way. That hurts him so bad and, you know, and you love somebody so intensely and then, you know, there are cultures where they'll turn their back on you. If they think you did something wrong, they'll turn their back and you are no longer part of the tribe. And that is it hurts so bad to be excluded like that. But God is not exclusive. He's very inclusive, and if there is a heart, it doesn't matter. So much your actions. Look what David did. Look at Peter did. Look at the people in the scriptures. They all made mistakes. But their heart was set before the lord. You know, I think a lot of Christians know that you're saved by grace. Right. You're saved by grace, but then what happens is you have to start gaining God's love as you grow rather than keeping. In grace, a lot of Christians feel that way. Right. That's true. I think there's more freedom here in the United States than many, many cultures. But the freedom in American Christianity you might say, it's limited, like Christians say there are so many rules in Judaism, but there are so many rules in Christianity, and so many Christians will reject you if you have certain things that are different about you than where they're at. And that's not God's love. That's the grace of God, accepts you no matter who you are. Exactly. And accepts you even after you've accepted him. I really believe that the kingdom will come when we get it in our brains that that he really does love me. Yeah. Because your brain is a thing that tells you that you've done something wrong or you're not qualified for this. Or you've been rejected by this, and if you just realize on conditional love of God, no matter where you're at, I think that's going to be the thing that really gets us into a new level. Sandy, what you said, I really love because you threw in the word love. And I would say this, it is very hard to separate the word love from grace. Right. And you might even say that grace is evidence of love. Amen. Grace is working in your heart. That's how you face everybody. You can't be offended. Yeah. Do not take into account a wrong suffered, that's evidence of grace that grace is the proof of his nature. Living and growing in you grace is the proof that you're believing deeper and deeper. That you're really loved by God. And by others, it's a knowledge. You're really accepting the love of God. When you really realize that no matter what you do, you're not rejected. Right. What's it alive and living in you? The love of God. Yes. Grace is proof that there is nature is in you. And it's living and growing in you because we grow in grace. God in his wisdom will not put us into a place that we can't handle. Right. He will put us into a place that causes us to grow. Now, you could say that God put Joe in a place where he could grow, he came out the other side and look at what he got a double portion of everything. Yeah. What are we going to get as we grow in grace? Or we grow in love? Grace flowing through us to become and to do. As I've been looking at this thing of grace, I am so impressed how love and grace are so interwoven, and actually grace is dependent on love. And love is dependent on grace. Yeah. They are so intertwined. And here comes in another thing, joy. There's joy and grace. If you're extending grace to somebody and it's not making you not giving you joy or at least making you happy, you're not extending grace. Yeah. I will not judge you. I'm not your judge. I'm the agency of grace for you. I'm the agency of love for you. In spite of what you do, I won't take into account wrong stuff. I was reading a book on grace. It's just this afternoon. I was reading part of it. He was talking about the joy, that a new Christian has. Because they've just been accepted into a love that they've never experienced before. But then you look at an older Christian, and for some reason you don't see that joy, just quite as much. You are saying that it's because all of a sudden you have to act like a Christian. Yeah. You have to, and you have to be careful of your swear words. And suddenly there are rules. That's what I was coming from is, yes, I agree, love and grace can not be separated. But it's a thing of love means you're not judging. And grace means you're not judging, too. I keep thinking we're all the scum in the bottom of the tide pool or something. That's who we really are without the lord, is we're just scum, and so it doesn't matter what you would look like. But the idea of grace is you accept that, and you accept the joy in the lord because you're no longer scum because you have him in you, and you actually feel love for the first time. Then you can have all the grace in the world for anybody. Because you know your loved, you know their loved. And it doesn't matter what we look like, the sounds to me like you have to come to the place either at your initial Salvation or somewhere in your walk or maybe both. And maybe many times, to know that you're nothing that, like you said, you're for better word scum. You have no good thing in you. Unless you have a revelation of the depravity of the human nature that everyone has, then you don't have the appreciation of the grace, I think that's where human air against comes in, self reliance comes in, all those things because you're not recognizing God's blessing resting on your life and you're saying that this is me. I did this with my own abilities. I live my life with my own abilities. I succeeded in my own abilities. And you're not recognizing, well, that scripture says he pours out his blessing on the what on the just and the unjust, they can not believe that God can love them. There's a truth in that. Because they look at themselves and they really don't love themselves, but part of it too, Ron real quick if I can interrupt is people put that on people. There's a religious entity group that tells you you can not drink. So if you drink, you're going to feel guilty if you've had any association with that particular group. You see what I'm saying and so you feel guilty. You feel condemnation because you're doing something that, according to rules that sandy talked about earlier, you're breaking him and so you got to be a you might as well just continue because God's not going to love you anymore, right? I just met a man like that a couple of days ago. He was very boisterous. And just right out there, but I could feel when I was with him that God loved the guy. Just the way he was. You have to believe that God's grace and his love is a greater power of transformation than laws and rules. It's back to relationship if you can not feel the love of God, and you know that he loves you no matter what, then all of a sudden you want the relationship and you want you want him to love you back. It's just like when a young man finds a girl that he wants her, he wants her affection. He'll do anything for her. Absolutely. And that's the only way that you can get somebody. To really function as a Christian in real life sense is that there's a relationship there. And they want to do the will of the lord because they found his love. On this podcast, we have seen that it is by God's grace, not rules that we grow. It's his grace that gives us the means to become and to do. "In the book of john not in the gospel but in but in the epistle john do not love the world or anything in the world in other words. If you wanna follow. Jesus you're going to have to say no to the world now. The difficulty is we have so mixed the world with the teachings of jesus. It's hard to know what the world is. He says if anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him. That is if anyone got pays if anyone sacrifices themselves for the world. The love of the father is not in him for everything in the world. And now he's going to identify their only three things in the world number-one the craving of simple man that is those obsessions that rise up in our heart. Those i have to have that the lust of his eyes the boosting of what he hasn't does comes not from the father but from the world the world and its desires pass away but the man who does the will of god lives forever so the first step if you want to enter the school of the holy spirit is to say no to to yourself. No i'm not going to go there. I'm not going to think that. I'm not gonna walk that way. I'm going to change the way i live. I'm going to begin to repent before. Almighty god for the things. I've been doing the actions i've been taking. I was shocked this last week as i have been struggling with this question of the school. The holy spirit again. I was shocked when the lord told me that i was an adult later. I said what. How am i on idolatry lord. Well let me read for you. Galicians the fifth chapter. So i say live by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Why will you not gratify them. Because you'll say.

"holy spirit" Discussed on Making Disciples with Robby Gallaty

"Then i think he's less likely to work in our. That's a great point. Michael was the one who told me this. I said what is my john. He's experienced revival in the hosted refresh conference for years and he's become a good friend and mentor. And i said what is. My role is the senior pastor during a an outpouring of god. He said you are simply the manager of the fire. I said what does that mean. he said. Well you can't you can't send the fire. You can't start the fire but you can organize and protect the people from being burned by the fire you can you can alter the intensity of the fire and you can You can allow the fire december at times. So what he said is sometimes when a move of god is happening. You need to just put more wood on the fire in intensified. When god's pouring on a spirit you need to spend more time in prayers and more time calling out and praising god but sometimes you need to allow the fire to symington and so the fire simmers down and that's okay. You can't have a raging fire all the other times you need a poke the fire you get a low low and so i took an into my prayer time and i went to the league team which you're on and i said guys here's the deal during this season and i changed my whole schedule around. And you know this and roberts here with me take. He helped me do it. Where entire afternoons. Now i go and spend time with the lord. Yeah on tuesday all day wednesday half a day thursday. I am with the lord for hours at a time sitting and listening and praying during the season in fact this staff meaning. We're looking at the notes here from this meeting. This is a sermon. I put together on the porch or In the study for the staff and it was spent it was out of the overflow of spending time. With god's what a great point don't neglect are don't don't overlook the impact of altering schedule. But here's what i want to talk to you about. Grieving the spirit. Because this is what i shared with the staff. And i wanna share this with you. We resigned the holy spirit to the moment of salvation in our life. We think the holy spirit saved us at the moment of salvation regenerated us and so thank god for that he's done and he's moving on to save more people and i want to share with you. That's the beginning of the sanctifying work of all of we. We've heard the statement before you have all the holy spirit you will ever get at the moment of salvation but i think that what we do. Then we say okay. Then i'm done with the holy spirit. I would say what what really saying. What you're saying is yes. We have access the holy spirit we have a we have all the holy spirit but him manifesting himself him working in our life us being filled with the holy spirit. Those are things that come after. Yes and i would say and this is not. I hadn't talked to this illustration so follow me here. But it's almost like at the moment of this could be wrong but yeah we met at anyway but anyway it might have ended after. But here's what the lord show me when you got save. He gave you an atm card. With access to the riches of heaven the access to hold it's total fulfilment and filling the holy spirit. You can be full of the holy spirit as much as you want but you have to take the card and you have to withdraw and receive the holy spirit and your life. Now the way you can withdraw and receive the holy spirit. Is you have to make room and your present life by repenting and removing all the sending your life because the holy spirit. Here's a of the lord. Show me he cannot fill a full vessel. So if you're full of self you're definitely not going to be full of god. And so what i showed is that we have access to the holy spirit. Many don't make withdrawals they never. They never deposit money okay. So here's the thing about spirit the holy spirit. We wouldn't have the bible without the holy spirit. we wouldn't understand scripture without the holy spirit there's no disarmament we wouldn't have power for ministry without the holy spirit of the work of the holy spirit. No one gets saved today without the holy spirit. Okay so i want you to understand. The holy spirit works in an immediate and direct way. But here's how the holy spirit works. He never shouts. He never raises his voice. He always speaks in a still small voice to us and so he gets grieved very easily in our life. Now how do you agree. The holy spirit and i want to end with this the way we grieve the holy spirit and when we grieve him i mean. We hinder him working in our own life. Forget your church. Forget your staff. I'm talking to you right now personally. If you're listening this is how you grieve the spirit and subsequently hinder him mightily working in your life now to agree the holy spirit. Yes does it bother me absolutely my challenge to you is don't do anything you can in the power of god to never grieve the holy spirit. How do you agree with him. We'll paul tells us a fijian's remove all bitterness from your life. Anger will greet the spirit jealousy. I find in church staffs and ministries. One of the great ascends in on a church staff is jealousy jealousy of other churches. Jealousy of other moves of god. Jealousy of more baptisms number force. Them man i'm guilty as charged very critical of other people with joke about you know the only reason he's got that is what you know and but i do at jokingly in very judgmental very judgmental of people in their life. And here's the thing i want you to think about the big one is mocking. And you started with this. And we'll end with this. The holy spirit will not be mocked. And i used to get with guys as a baptist and say are charismatic. Brothers would do this and even even joking about the speaking in tongues and all those things and guide reminded me. Hey first of all. I can do anything i want to do. And i'm way bigger than your finite mind boy. So there's a level of mystery to the christian life and you need to rest in that mystery and so here's how we never grieve the holy spirit. Don't ever take credit for something. God does the moment we take credit for something. God does don't lose the dwelling presence of the holy spirit and we hinder the overwhelming power of the holy spirit on our life. And that's the big difference. He'll never leave you forsake you but the power and you life and i don't know about you once i've crossed the line. Inexperienced the manifest presence and power of god in my life ministry. chris. I never want to go back. That's good well as always. We hope you've enjoyed the podcast. If so share it with the friend if you would take a moment and rate us on your favorite podcasts listening app as.

"That, you could serve Jesus. In a whole new way. We're going to turn to the book of I John. First John the first chapter. There are some scriptures here at the very beginning that we must have an understanding of. To understand. The. Will of God regarding our lives. Now as we begin let's pray. Lord. I can't express these. These truths? Adequately. It will take your Holy Spirit. Coming in powered. Hearts and our minds and to deal with us at the very inner core of our being. Would you come now? Holy Spirit. Would you come? Would you enlarge these words? that. They would not just fall to the ground and die but would rather quick my brother and my sister even as their quickening my own heart. Clear. Thank you, I. Pray in your mighty name. A man. I know. The cry, of my. Heart. Is for the endowment. The gifting of the Holy Spirit in power. Not only for sanctification. But for power. To reach the lost in the dying. When we come to this first chapter. This is the message we have heard from him and declared to you. This is a word that has received directly from Jesus. For us. It's a a broad statement of absolute truth. God is light in other words. Everything needs to be filled with the light of God and exposed so that we can see clearly. The. Inner design of our own hearts. And give that into the hand of the Holy Spirit. That, we could pray out these hindrances to his presence that he would have free access to our hearts. In Him. There is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship. That is if we claim to have coined Aena where we lean on God where there is intimate fellowship between our hearts. God's and yet we walk in the darkness we lie and do not live by the truth. So if we're walking and deliberate sin against God. We walk in darkness. But. Today, we're going to identify other ways that we may be unconscious of. Ways that we have had from our childhood. With that cause us to be unconscious before God and unable to receive his holy, Spirit. This is first John One verse seven but if we walk in the light as he is in the light. We have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his son purifies us from all sin. This is what our hearts desire. To be washed in clean. But the Holy Spirit has to come. And with arrows of conviction. Show us. Open for us and understanding. That we could pray out these hindrances that we could gain the victory over them. There's no room for pride. There's no room for hidden nece. We must be able to be. Completely open and vulnerable. Before the Lord. Versa if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. This passage of scripture. First John One eight. has led to the destruction of many many people. It has been plucked out of the scripture. It is not read in context. I listened to the Bible answer man some years ago as he plucked this out of context and said. Every one of US constantly sin all the time, and if you claim you not walking in sin, the truth is not in you. Will. He was lying? He was misusing the scriptures. We must read this scripture in the context. It must be Hermanez. That is contextual would is saying. Says the blood of Jesus, his son purifies us from all sin. But if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us he's saying look. There are among you a people who believe. that. Their spirit is all the counts. Their body is wicked. They believe that. They don't need Jesus. They don't need his forgiveness they don't need his blood. John is saying very clearly if you claim to be without sin if you claim, you don't need the blood of Jesus you have been deceived. He says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just. And will forgive us our sins. And purify us from all unrighteousness. This is what we want. We want to be able to confess honestly all of our S- in that's why it must be uncovered. And if we confess our sin before Almighty God. He tells us. He will purify us from all unrighteousness. He will purify us from all sin. If we claim, we have not sinned. We make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. So if you claim, you don't need the blood of Jesus to wash you. You cannot be saved. If you claim that you've never sinned and so you don't need a savior. If you claim that your good deeds will save you. You don't understand the reality. The seriousness Of your sin. That will take you to hell. There's only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ and he must klum and he must cleanse us of all unrighteousness. The purpose of this broadcast is delay out very specific detail about the kind of sin that we keep hidden in our hearts. We must deal with. My Dear Children Chapter Tubers One Irate I write this to you so that you will not sin. It is John's intent that we should be purified from all unrighteousness by the blood of Jesus Christ..

"Is something burdening my heart today that I reluctantly talk about in this episode. It is not something that I really want to do but I feel necessary to do the Gospel. Reading at Sunday Mass was about the multiplication of the loaves and fish the priests to gave the homily at the mass that I attended preached the heresy that I have heard all too often down through the years the heresy that it was not a supernatural miracle when the loaves and fish the food was multiplied. So much that there were twelve basketfuls leftover afterwards the heresy. Maybe you've heard it. Is that really? The people had brought the food with them but they weren't sharing it and the real miracle is that Jesus convinced everybody to share their food with each other so that everybody had more than enough. The reason why I call it. A heresy is because if we are to believe that Jesus did not perform a supernatural miracle of the multiplication of a meager amount of food then. Why should anyone believe that? Jesus does the miracle of multiplying himself in the EUCHARISTIC. Feast the EUCHARISTIC BANQUET THAT. We celebrate mass. Why should anyone believe that? The bread and the wine are super naturally changed into the real body and blood of Jesus. Christ I mean. It doesn't look like it. It doesn't smell like it. It doesn't taste like it unless the Lord is giving you a supernatural experience of it. Jesus multiplies himself. Through the miracle of the Eucharist at every mass the multiplication of the loaves and fish. That incident was a precursor me. This is what the Church teaches. It was a precursor to the Eucharist and the institution of the Eucharist. So if one miracle didn't happen really Super Naturally. Why should we believe that the miracle at mass happens soon? I mean how blasphemous this is. It comes from a lack of understanding that miracles. Miracles are supposed to be happening today. That the supernatural is supposed to be normal everyday life for Christian. There is a lot of misunderstanding of scripture of the miracles of Jesus in scripture because we are not alive in the Holy Spirit as a church. There are many priests. And here's where I'm going to get into trouble. Possibly there are many priests who do not have a full relationship with the spirit of fully alive relationship with the Holy Spirit which typically comes from what we call the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is presented to us throughout the church in the life in the spirit seminar but it's not the only way to receive a full personal fully activated relationship with the Holy Spirit there other ways that this lack of living fully live in the Holy Spirit is harming the church and this episode. Unfortunately I am zeroing in on the clergy. Because they are called to be our shepherd they are called to awaken in all of us a hunger for a life that is fully alive and Holy Spirit so many clergy that I have experienced and that I've heard from people who have experienced it. There's a burden on my heart over what is lacking in the church through lacking a life that is fully alive in the Holy Spirit. We need to pray in all of us who feel this frustration and sadness. We need to be praying for the whole church but starting with ourselves Com Holy Spirit film me come Holy Spirit. Fill your church today. Give.

"This is your host podcast so statistic throw this just a silly thing that we grew here at four crew and I am alive today in Church studio joined by a CO host. You have heard a long time. Christopher the the problem is right now even though we're sitting here together alive in studio I don't have my audio recording sets you can hear his voice We will be joined in a little. Bit by Nathan Caldwell and so that's kind of why we kind of rolled up here and we kind of have to today releasing gear things towards having conversations. We can talk about the topic and quality will do well enough but it probably will definitely be noticeably different. So just expect that whenever we wait for this phone call from our beloved Nathan Colorado as we prepare for that they'll take a moment to do some housekeeping as we like to do Front This topic came about due to a lot of things happening at my personal fear of daily life. And it's been a topic that I definitely have been digging into Studying up on which would be the Holy Spirit. And that's why you may notice that over the last few months we've had a rash of Holy Spirit episodes trying to lay some groundwork some background and some salad theology behind that I think today are installment may bring things to a head and get to the point of some false teaching have been plaguing me personally people around me so I don't know if this will be the final installment but surely I think It will be one that reveals some things as we discuss. Just a couple talking points. Nathan doesn't have time to says maybe about thirty minutes so this won't be a very long show and I also WanNa take time to think utilise ner For sticking with us I I know that are Listenership has grown just a little bit recently and it hasn't seem to have wavered access actually grown. We had the the call command from Nathan Caldwell so As roll our bumper we will be switching over to our live chat. We go for our main topic main topic. I wanted to see that the reason why I this topic came up is at least in my own. Sphere of daily life is that there are two Holy Spirit's which was mind boggling to me when I heard it but guy was saying it was dead serious. You says there's a Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit. They're two different things and not the same. Let's interesting because that would mean instead of trinity you have some canals and hit. It goes back to his guys who is a King James. Only Kinda guy which I know you are too and you'll find out that it holds up. I don't I'm not I'm not. I don't consider myself King James. Only I used to James and I often prefer it but the other day I had to use my homeland to to teach a class left making games though. I'm not in case way or a series of the corrupted theology goes like this King James is the only real translation for English. Should be able. But don't miss the only really accurate which I can really tear that up if I need to but not not today not today It was very accurate for its day but be number. Two the reason why it was written de had an awful lot to do with politics. All with the allergy Saul even there. It's a good translation am not. I'd I'd like you I do use it and I do study it. But here's the problem is because they chose the word ghost sometimes and spirit. At other times there are people out there who say oh see logically. They met this meaning of here and that meeting of it. They're now is a search just typed into google. Bligh does the King James Prefer the use of a Holy Ghost and other trade relations US Holy Spirit and I got back some results and would you read that first one first Nathan this one law right so from a daily Grandma Evangelist Association the Terms Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost mean exactly the same thing both the third person in the trinity the Father The son and the Holy Spirit the phrase totally goes to simply an older term that dates back several hundred years and is found in some old versions of English Bible such as the King James version because the work goes has a different meaning today than it did several hundred years ago modern translations of the Bible always use Holy Spirit remember that the Holy Spirit has got himself and he's at work both in the world and in our heart when we come to Christ the Holy Spirit comes to live with us in fact we can't even come to him until he convicts US verse INS and Convinces Of Our need to commit our lives to. Christ Jesus when he comes he will convict the world of guilt in regard to send and righteousness and Judgment Johnson. Eight no do you see the problem with that statement? That sounds really accurate to me. As far as I would claim that as a statement of belief about the spirit I wouldn't because Billy Graham Association Evangelistic Association says that Goes same thing right and I will tell you if you look it up in Greek it. It's is the word Hagey. Oh Numa Numa is the Greek word that means Syria and L. Testament. Ruak is the word that meets. Ag's exactly the same thing skirt and Latin we had the word spiritus which means of course spirit in old English. We have the word gassed the selector ghost because it is it means the same thing so whenever they did chose a word goes here and spirit there because hey Davey authors do use the word Holy Spirit in their writing. Sometimes it's one. Another is because they just happen to have chose the English word over a Latin word over a Greek word but they all mean the same thing sometimes a foreign language the word it does not a good translation for but sometimes there's just a word. Sewa a solid it means the same thing in dot language. You speak And so what I would say is people who believe that sometimes the Holy Spirit refers to the father or the Holy Ghost prefers to cry. You're making a raking Alma. What we would call it The Sand. It's it's meaningless. Because you're saying the same word out Anything to I I've got an illustration I have a father and my mother. My father's name was Donald Caldwell He's father he's Dad. He's brother called. Well he's brother oil And sometimes you call your mommy or mother or Ryan and I call. I've I've been known to call Daddy. Daddy you say to a kid. What's your mom's name.

"Well one of the things I wanNA mention. Sometimes people will say well. Are you saying that God can't do such and such okay? Well God can do anything God wants to do but God has told us how he was. The best in his told us information some of the things that people off and save the judge is in regards. God giving us probably about in our head or was not much use or that sort of thing. But I can't find I mean they'll they'll use versus like marcus or some of those contacts served find scripture that points to giving her normative Christian lives full it just God has not said that that is how to work is less clearly so yes yeah and it was a big deal and it was for the benefit of the whole church and it wasn't things like you know you should wear the pink eye shadow today and another thing. is the is the fruits of the spirit and The fruits of the spirit is love. Joy Peace Patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self control against such thing. There is no law that that is another way in in which we see The the work of the Holy Spirit in US so what? I know that you talked a little bit about out to some. I'll get a get your thoughts. Sometimes people will have with this. I don't know if you've ever seen people who list spiritual test spoken to. And even in their lives and number of times they were spoken to it. It was a small number yes I don't think it's wrong to look at or try to figure out how the Lord has gifted you and so that you can use your gifts to the best of your abilities in the church I think it is more useful to talk to people who know you and who know your walk and see where they see your gifts of how you might be used So I think a lot of times. We're yeah and and there are where want to person may be better. I've got vein useful than other than someone else you know. Hopefully your pastor is preaching teaching and you know then the laypeople and there are some things that I think Get pointed out ritual gifts away something like discernment where you know. Only certain people can be discerning but just call to there may be people that are especially just searching gifted. That's true but but there are things that we are to talk to be discerning. Okay I have. I hope this was helpful in understanding. Just how the work is served is that we're not just be counting the work of the Holy Spirit. In fact we should understand well though the work of the Holy Spirit and who the spirit is and we'll put some resources and episode notes at a definitely recommend Michael Horton's book rediscovering the Holy Spirit. I found it extremely helpful. And then we've got some different articles that you can read and I'll put the The catechism and confession parts about the Holy Spirit if you WANNA go through there and one thing I've said before mentioned again sometimes it's helpful to go through with the proof tax To kind of understand what's being talked about so well. I hope this was helpful and we will see next week..

"Thought it was helpful. I in in looking at this. I polled an haven't linked here. There is a pastoral letter that was written in the early days of the PCA on the issue of spiritual gifts And the point is spiritual gifts are not. There's not a second blessing that only certain You know particularly spiritually Good Christians. Get with us with this You know. Full measure the spirit. All Christians are blessed with the full blessing of the spirit In what you see in this pastoral letter it says spiritual gifts are granted to every believer by the Holy Spirit who apportions to each Christian individually as he wills. Christians are to use these gifts to serve Christ in the work of this kingdom and for the edification of the body of Christ all true believers received some spiritual gift or gifts. No spiritual gift to speak to be despised. Norris to be misused bring glory to any other Christ specific and you can see it. Listen passages where he can add mentioned spiritual gifts and Romans and I Corinthians and occasions and it says some spiritual gifts plainly have see such as the Founding Office of Apostle others are obscure and cannot be defined such as helps others are clearly seen today. Such as teaching and giving some have received undue prominence in recent days such as tongues working miracles and healings. This is what we mentioned You know there are a variety of gifts from the spirit And we see talk about a couple of different passages were all. Those gifts are mad day. Those those gifts had specific purposes at specific times storage. Redemption and Rachel talking about they attested to the truth when the message should the and they were they were for the benefit of gifts of the church the her of the whole body and mentioned quick because I know sometimes discussions about what time was with UCLA in pentecostalist today to be some sort of ecstatic utterance other Gifts some Djelic. I don't know if they can certainly are like shielded time language Someone might have gift in. I don't think that that's one time. And when I reached her quite a while ago that kind of ecstatic utterance. He's got a lot of people. Think of its tons today was actually practiced and Nostra schism in the early church and believe it or not it was practice in mormonism in early mormonism. And so when we're talking about Tung's somebody this is. Somebody would know a language that they did not they did not learn It was that sort of miraculous tongue kind of touched on this. But you'll see sometimes in like pentecostalist them they'll believe in this baptism of the Holy Spirit. That will come about You know when someone's baptized with the Holy Spirit. Then they can speak in this. You know these ecstatic utterances..

"These questions and we're not sure the answer to them that we have to seek the spirit to get some sort of message And people there's people that will even pray you know Lord if you want me to go to University of Colorado Make It rain tomorrow you know and think this is somehow the the work of the spirit and that's not how it works like what Rachel said understanding the will of God as we move forward and we move forward with wisdom and we do things like seek counsel there's wisdom and many counselors. I'm sure that your son in you and your husband will talk to people And you know so. There's different things that we do in in seeking this will but there's not some sort of secret will of God that we have to get some special message from the Holy Spirit so one of the things we had talked about before was the nice scene creed and That's another good place to go because when we're talking about the essential doctrines of the Christian faith That that's where we look to see. These are the things that have been agreed upon and The the creed says we believe in the Holy Spirit the Lord the Giver of life who proceeds from the father and son. Who with the father and son is worshiped and glorified who has spoken through the Prophets? The Nice thing is so rich and there is so much that we can can gather from it right to call the Holy Spirit. Lord is to say that he is God right to say that he is equal in power and glory and majesty with the Father and the son that he is worthy of worship Say that he proceeds from the father and the son that gets into you know that there is there is differentiation between the persons of the Trinity. The father in this. We see this in the Westminster Confession right that the father is not forgotten or preceding in the Son Is Eternally Begotten of the father and the spirit eternally proceeds from the father and the son so the speaks of who they are and particularly. We see it. We'll see some of the differences in how each work in The creation in especially in the redemption that we'll get to in in a little bit but What's really striking to him. You talk about going to the reformed creeds and confessions. We read from the scene. Which is one of the oldest of those Of the creeds. The Westminster Confession says much of the same thing that we see in the nineteen the Heidelberg to continues To talk about what we need to believe concerning the spirit and the question fifty three says that the answer is I he. The spirit is together with the father and the Son. True Eternal God second he has also given to me to make me by True Faith Sharon Christ and all his benefits to comfort me to remain with me forever so you see in that one as well. You see the the unity that he is with the father and the son but you see specifically what. The spirit does In the life of the believer and in redemption and I think that the the point that he's eternal is important because I think some people don't understand that they think that it's something that that only came at a certain point in the New Testament Instead of understanding that the spirit is eternal. You see from the beginning. We'll get to this. You know at creation genesis one. The spirit is there and mentioned throughout the scripture. See the spirit mentioned in the work that he does. So we're GonNA talk about what? What does the Holy Spirit do and this is? This is so important to talk about because of what I mentioned earlier where I've had people message me That have come into the facebook group. Maybe been charismatic. Or and say you put the spirit in a box you discount the work of the Holy Spirit and I think it's important understand all that we know that the spirit does a great quote from from Michael. Horton in his book. The Christian faith in every external work of the God had the father is the source. The Sun is the mediator and the spirit is one who brings about the intended effect that is a great way to understand You know the work of the Father Son and Holy Spirit throughout Horton's book on rediscovering the spirit spirit in talks about it in in terms of like the access we have to. The father is through the sun and by the spirit's over and over again. You see that through the son by the spirit and like in Kelvin's institutes he says This distinction is that the father to the father is attributed the beginning of action the fountain and source of all things to the Sun Wisdom Council and arrangement in action while the energy and efficacy of action is assigned to the spirit. And Horton sums that up as the spirit is the person of the God head who brings everything to completion. The spirit changes everything. We're referencing Horton's book and I highly recommended because I read it when it first came out and it was. It was very helpful for me. I'm not sure. Do you know Rachel. They think you've done some research If there's any other books on the Holy Spirit There's one by Sinclair Ferguson. Too often reference okay. I haven't read it and I will say that Calvin institutes does have some good stuff because When I read through different parts of Kelvin's institutes I ran into some some great stuff. And of course you just Quoted one of those right there Some of the things I read talks about Their number people that talk about you know Calvin as the theologian of the Holy Spirit. That there's a lot of reference to the Holy Spirit in in the work. That Calvin did so we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA talk a little bit About you know just some of those things you know. We talked more specifically right there when Rachel second ballot access to the father through the son by the spirit and and The quote from Michael Horton that The fathers the source the Sun. The mediator in the spirit one is the one bring about the intended effect so one of the things that we think of the Spirit's work is in the writing of Scriptures in Guiding that the man that wrote down the word of God and we see that in a second Peter one twenty twenty one that says but we know this first of all that no prophecy of scripture as a matter of one's own interpretation for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will but men move by the Holy Spirit spoke from God We also see in Second Timothy. Three six thousand seventeen is versus. That should likely be familiar to our listeners. All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching for reproof for correction for training and righteousness. So the man of God may be adequate equipped for every good work and that several the translations literal there on inspired by God is God breathed or breathe by God that is almost always a reference to the work of the spirit. So in West is Westminster Confession of faith. One five says are full persuasion and assurance of the Infallible Truth and Divine Authority there is from the inward work of the Holy Spirit bearing witness by and with the word in our hearts and I reminded of what we talked about in our last episode about assurance and we talked about that that is the work of the Holy Spirit and us when when we have that confidence of Our Faith and the assurance that Christ is for us that he has worked for us That is another work of the Holy Spirit. And if you do. I know that we talked about in there. That sometimes you struggle might struggle with that But the Lord is working in US. Sanctifying US Working in us that we may have assurance one of the things that I think is really important to remember about the spirit and the work with scripture and so we've mentioned here is not only was he did he have a hand in the writing of scripture and we talk about that he he spoke through the prophets right. We also see that. He illuminates scripture for us. He helps us understand the meaning of scripture First Corinthians to ten says for to us God revealed them through the spirit for the spirit searches things even the depths of God The Westminster Confession in section one on scripture says we acknowledge the inward elimination of the spirit of God to be necessary for the saving understanding of such things as a revealed in the word and that would be when we talk about the Difference Between Common Grace and special grace common. The common revelation like what we see in the world and special revelation would be revealed to us is revealed to us by by the spirit working in us and I think that's very important for us to remember this key. Work of the spirit in our lives to that we can understand what scripture teaches. That's an excellent excellent point. One of the things we we can do is in the episode notes is I will put some of the sections from the Westminster got quite a bit and Heidelberg also that Apply to the Holy Spirit Westminster Confession of faith one ten. The supreme judge by which alcon controversies of religion are to be determined. An all decrees of councils. Opinions of ancient writers doctrines of men and private spirits are to be examined and in whose sentence we are to rest can be no other but the Holy Spirit speaking in the scripture so you had mentioned earlier. Rachel has is The Lord's the Holy Spirit working in us to illuminate scripture to us to give us understanding and this is where with The reformers were saying is that you know the the ultimate standard is not what the Church teaches or not what the church. What tradition says the ultimate standard that we're held to is the spirit speaking through scripture? Yeah and I think One of the things that you see sometimes is people will think that you know. They're getting specific little messages from God and I've seen before where people will think that they got some message for God that is not even consistent with scripture though those are not messages from God They they become subjective. And Wha what we know about God is not subjective. Say What is the quote about that that if you know what do. We need to hear a new word from God on either if it's consistent with scripture it's redundant right and if it's inconsistent with scripture then you know it's it's it's wrong so. I'm not using the word incorrectly from the quote. But that's the gist of it. And it's been really popular especially since books like Cheese calling and several others several of the popular authors especially authors. That are geared to speaking to women a quote is from John Now and it said of private revelations agree with scripture there. Needless and if they disagree they are false. And and that's a great point and one of the problems is that you'll have people that think they're getting messages from God and they're not getting the same messages you know I mentioned before it was more than one guy at Bible. College said that God told them that they were supposed to marry me. I'm pretty sure God didn't tell well. Obviously I didn't marry any of them so so one of the one of the places that we see that Rachel mentioned earlier is in the work of creation. Genesis one to the earth was formless and void and darkness was over the surface of the deep and the spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. So this is a great verse to see that the spirit has been always you also see in the work of redemption this the work of the spirit in redemption You see it in Luke. One Word Luke comes are getting. I'm going to mess up my whole thing. It where Gabriel comes to speak to marry and he tells her that she will conceive the savior but she will conceive by the spirit and you know there is there a lot of parallels in what he says to her to the creation. The spirit will move over her. She will be overshadowed by the spirit within this this new thing the the the conception of the of the saviour but throughout luke one. You see the spirit work. You see that There's a promise that John would be filled by the spirit. You See That Elizabeth is filled by the spirit when she hears Mary's voice and Zachariah is filled by the spirit after John's birth and prophesized Over and over again you see these this work of the spirit And it's easy to kind of overlook it but if you start paying attention to the places that the spirit is mentioned it's frequently in several passages are frequent and several passages you. Well you can even take a concordance you know. Sometimes I'll do that when I'm studying something like this and just look for spirit and go through and see how much the spirit is mentioned this Do we talk about the the Westminster in the other Hattiesburg? You see over and over again. The places where the spirit is at work and one in the work of redemption In Westminster Confession Chapter Three. It says They who are elected being fallen in Adam are redeemed. By Christ our affectionately called UNTO faith in Christ and by his spirit working in due season are justified adopted sanctified and kept by his power through faith unto salvation so throughout the Scripture and throughout the the confession in the in the discussion of the work of the spirit it talks about us being called by the spirit..

"holy spirit" Discussed on Water and The Spirit Podcast

"Acts one verse four through eight and being assembled together with them he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the father which he said. You have heard from me for John. Truly baptized with water. But you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now therefore when they had come together they asked him saying Lord. Will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? And he said to them. It is not for you to know times or seasons which the father had put in his own authority but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and All Judea and Maria and to the ends of the once. I had the experience of receiving flames of something like the Holy Spirit through prayer but these flames didn't last long and soon died out in the face of accumulated sin. However now I want to show you the truth about the Holy Spirit which will dwell in us for eternity not through the false spirit easily extinguished by sin but through the True Gospel the Holy Spirit I will now introduced to you through. This message is not something that you can receive through prayers but only through faith in the gospel of the water and the spirit. I want to lead you to receive the dwelling of the Holy Spirit through this book. You will realize that the Holy Spirit inspires the message and delivering to you. It's God's absolute desire for us to receive the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. At this time you can learn about the dwelling of the Holy Spirit and receive it through this one book. If this book is not enough for you I advise you to read the two books published by me. Previously you will receive perfect faith before God through these books. Many Christians are trying to receive the Holy Spirit as if he descended on. Jesus's disciples on the day of Pentecost. Some people have earned great sums of money by exploiting this method. They pretend that the holy spirit is something that can be obtained through human effort. They want to have visions perform miracles. Here Jesus is on voice. Speak in tongues heal diseases and cast out demons however they have sin in their hearts and are under the influence of evil spirits even now many people continue to live without knowing that they are under the power of evil spirits. That is why Satan lures and deceives people using all kinds of methods such as wonders miracles. That are really just illusions. She's ordered his disciples not to depart from Jerusalem. But wait for the promise of the Father Acts. One Verse Four. They're receiving of the Holy Spirit revealed and axes not through experience devotion or prayers of repentance. But they're waiting for God's promise to give the Holy Spirit to them but we should learn from this passage is that the dwelling of the Holy Spirit doesn't happen to the desperate prayers of men. It is God's gift which can only be obtained through complete faith in the beautiful gospel of the water in the spirit which the Father God and Jesus Christ gave to mankind the true and dwelling of the Holy Spirit happens through faith in the Gospel that Jesus Christ gave us God gave us truth of the water and the spirit so that we could receive the dwelling of the Holy Spirit the phrase the promise of the Holy Spirit appears many times in the New Testament. Peter says in his sermon acts chapter two versus thirty eight thirty nine on the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of the pentecost. It is God's promised to give the Holy Spirit to those who receive the forgiveness of sins as a result of believing in the Beautiful Gospel the dwelling of the Holy. Spirit is a gift. Given to those who receive the forgiveness of their sins and contains the meaning of the fulfillment of God's promise the Holy Spirit and the New Testament is not something that can be obtained through compromises between God and men but as a promised gift from God therefore the dwelling of the Holy Spirit as revealed an ax is not something that can be obtained through Prayer Acts Chapter Eight Verses Nineteen Twenty the Holy Spirit comes upon only those who believe in the gospel of the water in the spirit that Jesus gave us. Jesus promises disciples to send the Holy Spirit so that they could have the dwelling of the Holy Spirit for John. Truly baptized with water. B- You shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Not many days from now acts. Chapter one verse. Five so his disciples waited for the fulfillment of God's promise by looking at the beliefs of those in the Bible received the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. We realized that it happened. Not through their efforts by the will of God the dwelling of the Holy Spirit that came upon the disciples and acts did not happen on the basis of Human Endeavour or spiritual movement the coming of the Holy Spirit upon his disciples as it was written in acts soon came true it was just as Jesus said not many days from now. This was the first blessing at the time of the early church by looking at the scriptures. We can see that. God's promise was not fulfilled fasting prayers or self sacrifice but their faith in Jesus after Jesus Ascension believers received the forgiveness of sins and the dwelling of the Holy Spirit at the same time the Holy Spirit came on Jesus disciples suddenly from heaven when the day of Pentecost had fully come. They were all with one accord in one place. Acts Chapter two verse. One Jesus disciples gathered. Together as they waited for the fulfillment of God's promise to send them the Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit finally came upon them and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting then. There appeared to them divided tongues as of fire and one set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them. Utterance Acts Chapter two versus two thousand four. The spirit came on them suddenly from heaven here. The word suddenly means that it was done not through human will. In addition the phrase from Heaven explains where the Holy Spirit came from an also count as the idea that the dwelling of the Holy Spirit can be obtained through human will effort. The phrase from heaven shows that saying the Holy Spirit could be obtained through prayers is a fraudulent claim in other words saying that the Holy Spirit came suddenly from heaven means that the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit does not happen through earthly means such as speaking in tongues or self sacrifice. Jesus is disciples. I spoke in tongues to preach the Beautiful Gospel to the people from every nation. The reason for this was to allow them to preach the Gospel to foreign language. Speaking Jews in their own language through the help of the Holy Spirit people from every nation thought. It was strange that they heard the disciples speaking in tongues in their own language. Because most of the disciples were from Galilee then. There appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit acts chapter two versus three three or four. Here we should pay special attention to the phrase the Holy Spirit sat upon each of them. The disciples waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit in one place already believed in the gospel of being born again of water and the spirit many Christians nowadays misunderstand this part of the passage believing that the coming of the Holy Spirit occurs with a sound like the blowing of the win while they are praying however this is a misunderstanding about the Holy Spirit that arises from ignorance and confusion does the Holy Spirit make such sounds when he comes upon people. No he doesn't what people here would their ears are. Sounds that Satan makes when he devours people souls he makes these sounds when he works with illusions mimic voices and false miracles in efforts to punch people into confusion by pretending to be the Holy Spirit. People mistake these things for evidence of the coming of the Holy Spirit people also think that the Holy Spirit comes with sound like that of a mighty wind they are being diluted by demons the coming of the Holy Spirit as recorded in acts achieved only through faith in the Beautiful Gospel. Peter's Faith One Peter. Chapter three verse. Twenty one was perfect enough to allow him to receive dwelling of the Holy Spirit by embossing. The incidence of the first pentecost in acts to God wants to emphasize the truth that the Holy Spirit came on them because they already believed in the gospel of the water and the spirit but people usually think of pentecost as the time when the Holy Spirit comes down from heaven with Supernatural Signs Tumultuous Clamor. That is why nowadays in revival meetings it is believed that one received the Holy Spirit through frenetic prayers fasting or the laying on of hands phenomena such as demon possession falling unconscious falling into a transfer several days or shivering uncontrollably are not works of the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit is a rational. Being an doesn't man's personality he does not behaved insolently toward man because he is God who possesses intelligence emotion and will he comes on people only when they believe in the words of the gospel of the water and the Spirit Acts Chapter. Two Verse Thirty Eight. Peter testified that the Holy Spirit had come upon the disciples as the prediction of the Prophet. Joel it was the fulfillment of God's promise which said that the Holy Spirit would fall in those who received the remission of their sins. In other words the dwelling of the Holy Spirit is given to those who believe in the truth that Jesus was baptized by John and crucified in order to save all mankind from their sentence. Peter Sermon along with Joel. Prophesy shows us that we need to know why Jesus was baptized. And why we must believe in it. Knowing the truth leads Christians to receive the Holy Spirit. The you believe in the Beautiful Gospel that Peter Testifies to one Peter Chapter three verse. Twenty one or do you still have useless superstitious beliefs irrelevant to the Beautiful Gospel? You try to receive the Holy Spirit. You're doing regardless of God's plans even if someone believes in God and offers prayers of repentance in hope of washing away their sins there is no other way to receive the dwelling of the Holy Spirit other than by believing in the gospel of the water. And the spirit. Are you still waiting for the dwelling of the Holy Spirit? Despite having no knowledge of the gospel of the water and the spirit. Do you know the true meaning of the baptism of Jesus and his blood on the cross which causes the Holy Spirit to dwell in your heart. You should know that the dwelling of the Holy Spirit is possible. Only when you believe in the gospel of the water and the spirit the true and dwelling of the Holy Spirit can be allowed only those who believe in the beautiful gospel of the water and the spirit we thank God for giving us his gospel of the water and the spirit which lets us receive the dwelling of the Holy Spirit..

"holy spirit" Discussed on Knowing Faith

"So let's get practical for a second. What would be the difference in the way I live is practical? Jim I'm about to make what would be. You didn't difference in the way that J. T. lives if he understands that the spirit is a person versus a force. What would be a way that someone someone who has That view of the spirit as a force how would they live differently than person who sees the spirit as person give me an example forces. This is something that you might want to conjure or use for your own benefit. Person is somebody you want to enjoy relationship with. Okay so for example when I come to When I pray for someone who is sick how would I pray differently for someone who is sick? If I view the spirit as a force versus if I view the spirit as a person I think you would probably only be asking the Holy Spirit to do something transactional in nature and we should ask the Holy Spirit to do something. That's not a tell what I'm saying. You'd also want onto ask Holy Spirit. Would you be present with. Would you bring them comfort. That's one of the main things. Jesus system was geared. Does will you help them. He's the Para. That's what Jesus it says. And so you're you're praying for them personal things about the Holy Spirit not just transactional that an inanimate object could do condemning thanking God for the work of the Holy Spirit praising God for the work of Holy Spirit so then a lot of the lopsided praying that we do is probably related to this transactional idea the of the Holy Spirit when our prayer leans most heavily toward asking or Praying for specific outcomes. Is it possible that that has to do with a lack of personal personal understanding of the spirit. I definitely think so. I want to emphasize we should ask the Holy Spirit to do things right off the table but again I'm always always looking for like where's the emphasis leaned too far went depression and so we're emphasizing this biting the fellowship the communion with the Holy Spirit people as we just mentioned walk walk by the spirit walk in step with the spirit live by the spirit are filled with the spirit because the spirit is personnel. So may be an indicator that we are giving Intellectual actual assent to his person hood but not practical sent to it would be if we keep a prayer journal and we look at it and it's all asking and it's not the other elements of prayer or it's almost entirely. Yeah I mean I think part of it is. How do you deny the person who'd of any person right? I mean we objectify them. You make them utilitarian -Tarian and make good and I mean because the Holy Spirit is a person. Okay I have a follow up question. Is it wrong then to pray Jesus be near No. I don't think so one because we see that almost exact you mean Jesus saying when people will say Jesus be near in this moment moment no because we see that actual petition in scripture come Lord Jesus come so one day. That's a different thing. Is it though I think it probably. Yes you think you think that the petition of at the end of revelation mayor come Lord. Jesus comes certainly. John left like longing hoping needing desiring that all things then she will come to judge the quick and the dead. Well yes but the judgment of Jesus is not divorced from His grace and mercy he always draws near in simultaneously continuously Grayson Holiness. Say That any prayer come Lord Jesus would be an invitation of Jesus to draw near. I would say that any invocation of the name of Jesus is already a drawing near Jesus that like. If we're praying to Jesus how are we praying to Jesus except by the power of the Holy Spirit and by the means of grace that he's open is the spirit the means by which we draw near to Jesus will the strays the spirit. The one who's near and we're using the wrong name I'm for spirit is in. The spirit is constantly bringing to the people of God in Jesus the presence of Christ right. That's that's part of what dwelling is is is that the spirit is. I don't WanNa say manifesting just because but the spirit is gifting to believers the presence presence of Christ at all times so to say I would say that it's true to say that the presence of Christ when we say the presence of Christ in the midst of his people that is a gift given Vinh by the Holy Spirit. Is it a misunderstanding. My off the reservation EUGENOL. I don't think so I mean I understand kind of both with tensions. I think I think I would I don't think what we WANNA do is totally say that. They're the same thing I think they're analogous but I think what you're trying to say. Is that the impulsive impulsive Christians. Broadly should be come. Be Near. We need your presence. Whether that's at the end. Time kind of the judgment of Christ Christ and the consummation of all things or whether that's I'm walking into this tough conversation and under that I don't have the wisdom for it. Would you just help me to abide in you uh-huh what about jamming James's draw near to God and he will draw near to you but I think what we're getting at here is it's important. I think one area I love for or Christians to maybe have some more dialogue about and think about is what we're saying when we ask for the nearness of of any person the God head so we'll see we'll sing things or say things things like Holy Spirit come or be present here and I think that's totally fine but what we wanna make sure we we realize we're I'm not saying or teaching around is saying he's not here that he doesn't come or he can't come unless he's invited. That's exactly right. I think I think if we're if we're saying those things what we should actually be realizing we're saying is we want to enjoy and see that you're already present here when you make yourself known in ways. That reminds undeserved. Love for us of our communion with you. It's not like we can't do anything because you're not here to help us in our Finna tude become more aware aware of what you're already doing here but if the spirit is described as the helper is it appropriate to ask Jesus to be our helper when we pray DC. What I'm getting at? Jesus called five remember. I think the sun is called parakeet once K.. Wants maybe a distinction without a difference. But I I think that within Christian circles groups tend to lean either we all have our favourite member of the trinity. And so what. What did we lose news if we emphasize Jesus as helper when the spirit is described as helper in is the spirit described his helper in some unique way within the Trinity Eddie. And if so should that we pray for definitely some of the actions by which he helps. Her uniquely ascribed him elimination as one of those things. Spiritual Empowerment Armand is one of those things. I mean how Jesus able to do all that he was able to do but by divine anointing of the Holy Spirit. I'll disagree here real. What for Real? You think that Jesus did all that he was able to do because he was full of the Holy Spirit. Yeah what about him being God he is God right but you just said he was able to do all the because of the Holy Spirit. Why I'm saying that? The Holy Spirit is. What's empowering him to do his work? He was one of the things that was empowering them that this is not a denial of a huge huge theological conversation. Right now about this. I understand what I'm saying. Is that dads that God man is living the perfect live in the same way that we are called to live the life. I can say that you want people to be aware of this theological conversation. Sure there's a conversation that Jesus so emptied himself of his divinity in the incarnation and that he is then given the fullness of the Holy Spirit that you now can enjoy the same way. Jesus did and do exactly what he did. No I am not your I. I am not of the perspective that the divine powers are eliminated or surrendered. But what you're saying what you're saying is not a good thing to think is probably building on the example in acts right like basically. That's what's done for the apostles is they to be Jesus two point. Oh right right right. Well we'll help their. What's wrong with that I think? There's obviously uniqueness in the apostles ministry. Everybody would say that this is an office that no longer exists. And they're extending extending the Ministry of Christ through the spirit which the church is still doing. Certainly but we're not doing through the Office of the apostle what I'm trying to guard against is a misunderstanding of the uniqueness of the active and passive obedience in Christ. Who is the son who also is empowered by the Holy Spirit and incarnation? There are some people who who tried to. They're worried that if we maximize the divinity of Christ it seems like he didn't live a real human life right and so in in trying to maximize humanity. They WANNA say see Jesus as human. I mean just like you which is true therefore you can live the exact same way. Jesus did if you're empowered by the spirit. Yeah now we should live in lots of ways that Jesus resisted. This is not contrast but it's also not the same thing. Let me ask you a question. Real quick okay. Let's just give an instance instance here. Okay when Jesus walks on the water. Is he doing it. Because he's God or from the his divine fine nature he's able to. Let's be Nestorian walk in the water or is that the work of the Holy Spirit empowered. Sorry him to be able to. It's challenging because you get Peter Walking water immediately afterwards right without the Holy Spirit well without the Holy Spirit you think. Peter was enjoyed by the Holy Spirit ear. It before pentecost was Peter. No he denies Jesus Three Times L. Believers denied. Jesus not that way I think there's a clear ear biblical narratives until after he denied requests guys. The cross hadn't happened yet. Coleman the whole episode. We recorded this guys. I just by the way I need you like thirty. DMZ about this and everybody's against whatever whatever TM's aren't real forms of communication twitter's not the real world we should battle so peters not safe because the cross hasn't happened early the back pass for the record. That's not what I. Yeah so how. How is Jesus able to walk on the water? He's able to walk on water because he is the God and how he's not the God man. Yeah I honestly. I'm not sure I can. The text says because it doesn't I think it is an act of Obedience Nafta Faith in God honors those things. I think what is happening. There is a gospel writers through all of those stories. These are showing unique things that God does for example who hovers over the waters. God hovers over the waters who multiplies bread from heaven. God does and Jesus says the same thing and so these stories are not just random stories. Sure their literary ways of showing these stories that that you're familiar with the Old Testament Jesus is recapitulating. The story of what God did in Israel here in Galilee or in Judea and I'm I'm a hundred percent on on that front. The the bigger question for me is is Jesus only recapitulating what he has already done. What got his already done in the world or what? He's what he meant or intended for Israel to do or what he intended for Adam and Eve to do because he coming as perfect man yes And so leading Adam and the story of Israel for sure how so I guess whenever one of the press I feel on emphasizing the role of just means recap reiterating retelling thank you. I think there are two things that to me are are fundamental to considering the significance of the Holy Spirit empowerment or operation with the son of God. Jesus Christ which is the baptism situation. Where it's clearly a marker of anointing right for for Jesus or Fraser both Jesus And then as that there is a promise of power throughout the Gospels. That Jesus telling you telling us this this is coming there is A. He's clearly walking and whether we want to call it a unity with the Holy Spirit which means there which is certainly true. That's beautiful wood regardless of what we want to call it some some sort of fellowship power unity with the spirit. That at this point was different than what anyone else had or was experiencing variances for sure. Okay yeah from all of those things. I what I'm saying is I'm just I want to make sure we don't lose the uniqueness of the life of Christ course in those things he he and he alone is the Godman fully God fully man and the Holy Spirit is cooperative with him right and its cheers in the one substance that has gotten. When was Peter Saved? We're not doing this right now. Would you tell me what they actually have idea. Oh you seem to think he did a second ago. Well I don't I don't know I'm not saying that I know I'm saying that it's that the denials are certainly not evidence that he was not saved when we say Jan.. Well I thank that when he says who Jesus is right when he says get behind me Satan to great salvation. Well uh-huh so your definition of someone who saved US someone who doesn't still have issues someone to finish follow them around that'll I don't think they would call Satan saved and he calls him Satan..
