"Holly Warlick fired after the program progressively declined in seven years since replacing the great legendary Pat summitt what's hard replacing a legend or building a program from scratch. I'm gonna say replacing a legend because you started to you have to live up to that expectation to continue to carry it. And there's there's nowhere to go. But down if you start from scratch, I mean, the expectation is so low any any plateau becomes a celebration in a sense. But when you're trying to replace Pat summitt and keep her putting together and scheme and everything wins and losses. That's that's Rochman. This is a tough one. I don't I don't know if I agree with what we're high answer that I'm going to go the other way, even though I hear what you're saying. But at least like I'm thinking from my point of view, what would be easier looking for radio point of view, step it in Berlin. Whether it's politics sports, and and obviously having monstrous expectations, but having a built an audience and having presumably stays with the revenue to back you up and all that stuff. We're going through startup station. Maybe just flip the dial two FM and becoming a sports station at the being country on that incurred. It'd be hard. Yeah. So I mean, it really now Tennessee's unique because Pat summitt was so great. But at least the infrastructure in place. I say that I want say starting a program from scratch, it could be a little tougher. Times of blessed is over another day here. The the counterpoint today. All right. Let's make some picks. Let's some pick for an hour away. Our? In ten minutes away. Seven oh, nine seven eastern, CBS, Florida state. Let's say Florida state gonna win. Yeah. Florida state's not gonna I think Florida state's ones this game. I think Florida's states length disrupts them. They got some big men who can bound who can who can knock down from three pointers. They can shoot over some Gonzaga's defenders I like Leonard Hamilton, and I'm gonna say Florida state. I like Leonard Hamilton to I don't like him enough to say that he's gonna win. I'd like to see him play great down the stretch. They really did suffer the loss yet. True. But they play do not. But I think in Zach is better than I don't think that good. They can't shoot good point. If you're a great defensive teams, like Florida state, and you already know that the opponents can't shoot at me. It's not that hard. To beat them. And the one game that they lost do kit that shot at the end member that was. I remember that. All right. So I would say is going to win. Although I do think Florida state has chance to cover Purdue Tennessee, I got Perdue. I got the ball on me too. Okay. I don't like the inconsistencies at Tennessee. I think they're good. And they could they could very well when this game by fifteen doubt it. Yeah. Because they're just inconsistent at times we saw in the previous round where they blew a huge lead. Kind of a coin flip game Vegas a Saint volunteers minus two so bulk and arrived Purdue it's a two three ups or whatever. Bind thirty nine eastern CBS. We start getting to the nightcap, see or Michigan coach be lines. Second seed against Texas Tech, red raiders wolverines modest one and a half in the west region. La Michigan Michigan tonight, I did too. And then obviously, I got Virginia. All right. All right. I believe that there's only one blowout tonight. And I believe that tees Cavaliers wa who ones through it again, why who who administer the blowout win going away that one's late nine fifty nine scheduled. Let's say twenty eight to ten twenty. It's always a thirty minutes after. I Don would we get a foul ridden game in the first game. This think conceivably maybe ten.

Tennessee Fires Coach Holly Warlick After Seven Seasons With Lady Vols
"I'm getting continue some some college basketball conversation, and we'll stay with the women. But to me this overall topic is more. So it's not just about women's basketball. But it's more. So about just the difficulties and how tough it is to follow a coaching legend. So the name Holly Warlick a lot of you won't won't know who that is. But she is or has been the head coach for the university of Tennessee women's basketball team in everybody knows how legendary that program is she play for the legendary Pat summitt she coached under Pat summitt and then succeeded Pat summitt as the lady vol's head coach. Well, she was like oh today. From the university of Tennessee. They're eighty Phillip Fulmer former football coach had this essay Holly, and I met this afternoon. And I informed her of the decision to change leadership within the program. Holly has dedicated most of her adult life to the university of Tennessee and the lady vol's program, she loves Tennessee and Tennessee needs to always love her back. She was front and center as this program developed into the model for women's intercollegiate excellence. Look. You talking about the heartbreak there's no greater heartbreak for her. Then I'm hanging out. I thought I'd throw that in. There's a lot of today percents. Hey, no problem. Listen, you know, I've heard the conversation about Holly Warlick. And I thought you did a great job. It just looked like at the end of the year that the kids weren't just playing for anymore. It just seemed like there's a detachment there. And you know, I if it was kind of sad to see that. Because I thought she did a great job. But I was thinking what your opinion would be on someone that might be a great replacement for well in the good news is the bad news is Holly has gone to good news is is that this legacy of lady vol's basketball. There are so many tremendous candidates out there. I mean, there's so many former players that are still in the coach profession, and why is because the some now I have also heard the name Jeff Walz in Louisville mentioned a lot. And quite frankly, I thought Mitch and maybe too much while Holly still had a job. But but that's those. The names that you're going to hear you're going to hear the names of of these women who played for coach summit all over the place. Kelly Harper is the name that I come back to a lot. You know, she's at Missouri state now, and and she was tremendous guard for coach summit, and and I think maybe is the right age certainly has had the right success in LA tournament. But but yeah, I gave it to you. I haven't looked. But I guarantee you the Knoxville news sentinel probably got a list right now. I got a couple of thoughts and they haven't been in the coaching around. But there tremendous players both at Tennessee and into WNBA. And that's one of them is Candace Parker. Oh, yeah. I've heard the other day that she's very articulate seems like she'd be a great coach. Of course, she was under summit when there's so well tells us I mean, she's so good as an analyst. Yeah. And then that just means you'll be great coach. I know and then Cairo Lawson what do you make of her? Oh, absolutely. Well it again. And I'll say this to you know, as I've thought a chip Kelly about this when chip was working with us at ESPN. And then he went back to UCLA..

I know do almost laws, but almost doesn't count. So how how is the chances of all number one team mega to the final four? Do you think it's high? I think is really high. No, in fact, when I filled out how bracket, that's certainly not scientific and usually is completely wrong. But when I filled out my bracket, I think I had three ones in two in the final four because it just felt like that kind of year. Right. What can I ask you this question? Your three number one with all three of them ACC note, Tennessee in there to Vail, Tennessee. Trying to remember now Tennessee do guns, and then I think North Carolina was ill. And it was in there. Okay. Okay. You have not working. I appreciate it. I wanted to get to take on AM or percent. Yeah. Listen, we were really close. I mean, listen when I was in this chair last Thursday, we had two schools that were almost knocked off. I mean, I think it was a one point game at a two point game right LSU in Auburn. It was almost. So there was a lot of almost in the first two rounds. There. Also, a lot of blowouts, but sometimes you just have year dislike that we will spoil. We what we have Maryland Baltimore County year ago, and we had a sister, gene. So I think we got a little spoiled last year was a little unusual, but it is unusual have any. We could use. But I'll tell you this era may fun of my chalk bracket when I turned that sucker in and look pretty good right now Matt's on allowance up, Matt. Hey, but just wanted to ask you about a really how you think Auburn can hold up against North Carolina. Really what their chances really are. Well, I'll be honest with you. I've seen North Carolina in person more than I've seen any other team this year, and I think just pure team lies. They might be the best team in the country. I've got him in the championship game. I I was at the game was on Winston shoe blew out. And honestly don't think that matter. I think Carolina North Carolina's gonna win that game. Anyway, that being said momentum is momentum. And nobody's got it right now. Like all does don't you feel it when you watch that team right now? Oh, yeah. I love it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. See I'm a big fan. And you know, we live through indaba three. And I get that. But but yeah. North carolina. I mean, I'm self you know, I had to say, but I did take them in my bracket. So. Yeah. I feel like if we get hot and play defense event plan. We we got a shot. But which is is there one of the best. You know? Yeah. Now is our appreciate it ma-. Yeah. Listen, you can't say enough about momentum. And if anybody's got minimum Auburn all done is pick Auburn consistently for the last two weeks and all they've done during that time is not lose. So they got that goal form picked against him again. In fact, I don't think I wouldn't have I had them losing the first round. So sorry fans North Carolina really really good all are pretty into. All right. "And ESPN dot com and Spain and fits their Spain Jason Fitz on ask you about a team that's out just because I grew up in an era that Tennessee women's basketball, the lady vols were unstoppable. And obviously they just had their worst season in memory. Holly Warlick has been sort of under fire for whether she'll return, what is your mindset on the state of lady vols basketball right now. They're in a they're in a really difficult place. You know, Holly had to take over in a in a really really hard circumstance. I mean, this is her mentor her best friend going through a really tragic illness and then passing away. Really? I mean as big a figures there's a women's sports with Pat summitt and then trying to take over. I mean, we all know in sports. What's the hardest thing to do? It's so try to replace the legend. Nobody can really do it. You know, the best you can hope for is to be able to stab herself. And I think what's been hard is the lady vaults have been able to get some good recruits in, you know, since since politics over which you know, she took over after Pat summitt steps down so for the two thousand twelve two thousand thirteen season. But they've just gotten progressively worse. Really? I mean, like like you said this is the only the second time they'd lost in the first round the first time was a decade ago. And it was a shock, and sadly this time it. It wasn't. I think they were expected to lose over number eleven seed. And now the question is do they you know, are they going to stick with Holly Warlick of Phillip Fulmer extended her in August? So if they're going to get rid of her they're going to have to buy out her contract. And then it's a question of who replaces her, but you know, when you have a situation where you have a certain amount of the fan base. And then even a player of know Westbrook after their first round loss is talking about that you you've got problems speaking sarahspain and Jason Fitz talking to Michelle Vogel. College basketball reporter for ESPN w and ESPN dot com. Michelle we've heard a lot in previous years as the Yukon women were dominant, even though they've actually lost the couple times of late that they were bad for women's basketball that it was boring that they were so good. Do you think this year is actually better when there are two stewed seed or maybe even the accumulation of the last couple years where they haven't been winning? I think it's probably just like in in any sport. We have a dominant team, right? Was basically everybody in the universe. Rooting against the patriots. It's excited with fans, you know, same way, I think yesterday was with Duke men, right? That was everybody wants them to lose. It's the fact that they're so great that they're so annoying. And that's why it's so much fun when they do lose, which sounds mean. But it's the truth. The last two final fours uconn lost, you know, on buzzer-beaters in overtime. It was like the same groundhog day happened to them twice. And I think that was good. You heard other coaches, they gave them this idea that hey, anything can happen when you can lose them being number two seed to me is like to me they're about the same as a number one 'cause they're in the Albany region. It's it's basically almost the same thing. But I think it's fun because now people are saying, hey, are they vulnerable? I don't think anything motivates Gino more than that seen Auriemma than than people saying that Michelle have you seen anything in the tournament. So far, that's changed your mind about who you think's going to win in the end. Not really because I I think there we came into the tournaments thing legitimately that could be seven teams that could win. And that's honestly, I I thought they were seven that could win. I picked Notre Dame so far Notre Dame's fantastic. I I think they're still my pick. But we've seen you know, the fact that the number one so far been really strong. We had all number ones last year that could happen again. But if that does happen that means the end of Yukon streak they've made every single final four since two thousand and eight..

Did you know who they have hockey team in Knoxville and ahead they play into the Birmingham bulls? Do you know who the now for the Birmingham bulls? Well, the first question is really easy. I mean, Purdue is the big ten they did they tie for the big ten championship. They win it outright. They michigan. Michigan state won at the one that tournament Purdue is infinitely better than than Iowa Iowa. To me looked like a middle of the pack team Purdue looks like an upper echelon team as far as the the Birmingham. Both believe it's ally gold. Yes, sir. Is that enough you need, but he is fantastic. And he's made our league better than it were. Well, listen, you you're talking about you. I e y gold is is one of the preeminent play by play broadcasters in the country. I'm thinking, I'm not a betting guy. But I think six points is a little strong. I was looking at a whole Michigan state game. And I don't think they're going to have the athletes at in. Specifically in the guard position is I don't think them guys are used to have in like if you put a Jonathan smaller net low God, they have I don't think he's used to that just wanted to get you thoughts on I think it's actually John it's hard to it's really hard to go against LSU right now, they're playing I mean, they they've they're playing so well, they've got a little luck. "Yes. I think they need to go on a run. And no, I don't think they will. We're about to go out and watch them practice, which would be really interesting because they as everyone knows. I mean that that the back will against Vanderbilt Vanderbilt lost Alabama today by a lot was. Was so I they do need to of course, they're playing LSU that that might be the most intriguing game of this tournament before the final because whoever loses that game is not gonna make the AA tournament, according to Charlie cream and a lot of other people. And so it's it's sort of like a plan game. So it's it's very very interesting. And I think that if Tennessee could re rewind a little bit and go back to the team that beat Texas. Like that team head. That's why. And if they could put whatever else is on their minds aside and just focus on the tournament. Because I believe from one end of the bench to the other. They got the most talent the napkin, they put that together on the floor and be competitive. This week. I remember I saw them early in the season in in the Bahamas in Bibi. And you just see that team. And they are so talented they're athletic. They're big they're fast. But I just never felt like they had a consistent motor. And I'll be honest. I have not watched Tennessee a lot during the SEC season. I saw I've seen glimpses of them. But I just I I remember a Tennessee t- that just had. I mean, even when they weren't the most skilled teams they played harder than you every night. And that in the SEC you have to have if nothing else, right? Like, they I I remember the playing hard and stretches, but just that consistent all out effort and some of it and you'd see the, you know, this some of its chemistry some of it is youth. Right. I mean, this is a fairly young Tennessee team. If you look at it on paper, and then so there's a lot of different. Things that could way into it. But that was just something that I thought about was an easy fix probably along the way. But I'm sure Holly Warlick will say as much more than that. We'll be keeping our eyes on the SEC. I I'm intrigued with Missouri and Kentucky because you know, those are two teams that you wonder how good they really are. Now, Missouri has had some big wins. But had the big consistent. You know, Kentucky's had some good not. So in some not so good moments. I was there when they got knocked off at home by MS obviously without Macy Morris. But when you're depending on like a freshman like Ryan Howard, who's in her first postseason. You know, how is that going to go for the Wildcats? But now that Miami has knocked both of those teams out in the regular season..
Tennessee Lady Vols basketball: Holly Warlick should be fired by UT
"Then one thing to remember about Holly Warlick is she really never pursued coaching jobs. She was all time assistant UT in didn't have a lot of ambition about being a head coach she was really content here. And she was an integral part of Pat summitt staff for many years. She was Pat summitt point guard and I live over the last season when Pat was coaching and that was extraordinarily difficult because Pat was not anywhere near one hundred percent the Alzheimer's without an effect. But she was still coaching. And she was on the bitch. And she was head coach at least in title, but Holly was really having to run the team, and she was also having in a way to kind of help manage Pat because of a very vicious disease. And I just thought she did a remarkable job because she's not just dealing with their boss. She's dealing with a very close friend. And I thought it was just an extremely difficult thing to get through. And she did that. And I think I think most fans really like Holly Wardi, they really do. She's a very likable person on the most likeable coaches of been around. But they're just comes at time. When you've got to let the wins and losses and what's going on with the program and make a change. And that's what they'll applaud when these did it

"We are back here on. Wednesday afternoon. More of your calls at eight five two four to seven to eight five Barbara is in Tennessee. Hey, Barbara how other how oh, please. Are you gonna learn that? You're not going to get these things bad about Nick Savin. Let's just talk about Butch Jones for meaning it and hold on Barbara. I don't think I understand what you're saying. What are you saying? Well, thought the life three way he's talked about is Nick Sabin and you've got nowhere. He's. I've got nowhere. I mean, all we've done is to comment on on the most embarrassing performance of his career, Alabama tha-. That's all we're done. We haven't done anything. There is national championship game fast. But anyway, let me tell you something oh made you mad on day. But less. Yes, he say been hired books Jones. But lesson cana- say is that oh John's six million dollars. So I don't hear you John in about that much. What will Barbara? Are you? Are you familiar with how contracts work? Well, yes, I know why the contract. Well, Butch Jones had a contract with the university of Tennessee for X number of dollars. And they chose to fire him therefore he based on contract law is entitled to receive money for his contract that he signed in good faith with the university. So what is your objection to him receiving that money? Oh, no, no. Hey much. Well, you act like it was it was shooting. Now, I'm trying. I'm trying to understand is what you're unhappy about here. Well, I'm unhappy. If you really want to know about Holly Warlick, okay, found out what you're unhappy about. I feel like a doctor here you came into see me, and we tried to find the root of the problem. And I finally diagnosed it wasn't Nick Sabin. It wasn't Butch Jones. Whoa. He's the best one on. What was ailing do is Holly Warlick? Yes. I think I have a cure for that. Shut up and get off. No, no, no, absolutely. Not. I would never say that. The cure for that is for Tennessee to keep winning which they won Sunday against LSU. Sure. You know, that well, gee way no one in c. Did you say sex or so what'd you say? Yeah. Yeah. You're what I say. Which? Want and sl at I love. Six six straight. Oh, not sex sex. You can you can confuse six six. I'm not I can funny. I was just pointing out the difference between six. One six one six. Well, I don't know. Real bad fan where do you live barber? You live in Tennessee. Barracks. Chemists say Berg, Tennessee. That's the some good good. Good whiskey there. No, no. He's got the wrong. It's got the wrong place. So I was just thinking about west in six I mean, okay. I, you know, this is one of these conversations. I just can't seem to get anywhere with that drawn and out to talk to you later. Well, now, I'm getting blown off your back. I hurt. That really hurt me a lot. I thought I was can make conversation with her and. Didn't seem to work out. Very well. I got the wrong pretty much every I thought I thought I thought lawrenceburg was where they made Jack Daniels said some other city. I thought that's where they perjured Jack Daniels. Imagine dreaming Ben is in Chicago. Hey, Ben, what's up? All we're doing great. Thank you. That's good. Yeah. I'm up here in the boulevard Tech's I have them how okay before we get to your your question. Give us a weather report. Well, I'm looking outside out three feet of snow having stepped outside though. I know that inside my house where we're hovering around freezing around thirty five degrees downstairs, I got a little mini radiator set up in my room. So I should be fine about way, by the way Lynchburg Tennessee's where they make Daniel. It's not lawrenceburg. Large. Berg is where they make nice ladies who are pleasant on the phone. Okay. Back to back back to. So have you been outside today? No, I was spending on putting on my swim trunks and going outside later tonight for coming out. You know, maybe in the lake. Yeah..

"He's been I think some people wondered if after support your from Texas, if maybe this was it, you know, he was just kind of closing out his career with this with his job. Quite to the contrary. He's really worked at it. He's built a team. He knows what he wants his team to look like he knows the kind of guys can play for him. They have to be guys that can take tough coaching and a lot of players can't now, and he's he's really put together a team that will respond to him. And that's what's happening. It happened last year, and it's happening again this year, and this guy really is done an excellent job of of motivating them. And I think some teams might be. Distracted by being number one. I don't think this team will be as, you know, number one can be very fleeting. But I just think this team is going to be really good the rest of the year and probably really good in the NCAA tournament talking to John Adams about the Tennessee basketball program number one the country John for so many years. Tennessee was either number one or close to it in women's basketball with the lady vol's last night. Many of us watched something that that is closely resembling a harsh oh with Tennessee losing it home fifth straight with the number one team in the country ahead. What's the status of Holly Warlick right now as we close out January? We'll Powell I think I wrote a column after last season. My feeling is the administration is not interested in the lady vol's being an elite power again. I think they're content with the team winning twenty or so games getting in the NCAA tournament. And they're they're paying Holly Warlick, not top wages in terms of college women's college basketball. So that you see otherwise, I think they would have made a change already in God out and pay somebody maybe two million dollars. But I just don't see that happening. But I thought the program would continue along instate a certain level, but this season contradicts that I mean, this is truly a train wreck. I I know it's they've got some young players, but the kind of players Tennessee recruits to go out and play the way this team does is totally unacceptable. Fan base and in every one of those losses. I've watched them. I mean, Tennessee just looks not it looks. So disorganized hollies been outcoached. And every one of those games decidedly. I would say and done by the well for the future. Now, it's got enough talent we might still come around and get hot at the end of the year and maybe win twenty games and make the NCAA tournament. But right now when you look at this team, you know, I don't know who it's going to be and beat Vanderbilt and be Florida, but he can lose to anybody else. So the you've seen that with losses to Alabama. I didn't think Alabama could beat any team in the country about twenty points. If it continues in you know, one would presume Thursdays and opportunity to play the number one team in the country. It's alternate opportunity to be totally embarrassed at home that would be six straight losses. I'm assuming this decision is resting comfortably. With Phillip Fulmer your knowledge of him as a coach and loyalty aside, he's in a different role. Now has he said anything, and what do you expect them to do? No. He's never say anything negative Donald Holly Worley he hasn't. You know, he hasn't mentioned it during this during the currencies. And that there's a problem nothing like that. I think he's just consumed with football. He's out there at practice dressed in coaching garp, tune the season. I think that's where his focus is. He still wants to be football coach and everything else is kind of falls by the wayside. I also. Think so good that Philip looks at her in can emphasize. I mean, he doesn't think he ever should have been fired at Tennessee is football coach. So he sees a coach with a good record. And that's enough for him. He doesn't lick it where the program had the program once was or the decline of the program just as there was a cl- decline of the football program under him. He doesn't really know that. So I would think he would be sympathetic and empathize for Ali warling before you go. It's pretty amazing. We we haven't talked about football you. But we will. Now, a lot of coaching changes recruiting seems to be going, really..

"Most recently in for thirty some odd years for the Knoxville news sentinel, John. I'm still kind of hard to believe Tennessee, number one in basketball. We've seen it before it didn't last very long. How important is this? And how great is it for that program up there? Good afternoon. Hey, paul. Yeah. I it's a great thing for the fan base fan base here. I know it's considered a football school. But there's tremendous interest in basketball here and always has been it just needs the right coach to rekindle that interest, gray MIR's. Did it a long time ago, Bruce Pearl get it how you saw what that was like. And now Rick Barnes has done the same thing. He's not to promote it right with Mears. Was he's not the promoter that Bruce Pearl was but he's really built in ice team. And the fans appreciate it in. They're filling up Thompson. John. How has he done it? Well, it's interesting Paul when he was hired. I mean, this is the gas had an incredible career took Texas to the state tournament sixteen times in seventeen years. He's won everywhere. He's been I think some people wondered if after support your from Texas, if maybe this was it, you know, he was just kind of closing out his career with this with his job at quite to the contrary. "It's just I tried to watch Kentucky and Tennessee last week and. Louisville in Notre Dame was playing it. I just had to switch games. Go play them. Holly Warlick is I'm sure as a as a real fine person. She has and there's no question about her Bill ability to play basketball that year nine eighty four years old tall, and you and I both know that great basketball players and great football players, do not necessarily make great coaches. And I just I have to agree with the people that I think, you know, it's just time to take a look is is all that site. One other comment, I'd like to make this big daddy that called in the other day and cars, you fraud and a liar to me that didn't say much about you, Paul it. It said a whole lot about him and there, and I appreciate the fact that you have to put up with. Well, listen, I don't I really. We appreciate you. And so many other saying that, but this is this comes with the job. And i'm. I want people to express their opinion. They don't like me. That's fine. They're welcome to say it and spit it out. Yeah. I understand plus as long as they listen, I'm pretty happy. I understand that you understand. It comes with the job. And just but it's. I'll have to make the same comment. I made about trying to watch that lady Volvos and Kentucky game. Is that? Listen to him was painful to listen, I understand. Well, listen, you be well and hope talk to you again soon. Joe? Thank you. Thank you hope. Holly Warlick is not watching today. We will take a break. We'll come back in continue this conversation. A couple of guests are heading our way shortly including Seth Emerson from the athletic. He is on deck to listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. Welcome back. Seth Emerson joining us from the athletic. He's covered Georgia in his former life. Seth still covers towards in this present life. Good that good to have you on the air. Seth we had one of our friends here. The other day that wasn't overly high on the dog's next year. That is contrary to what I hear. And what about you what kind of team are we expecting from Kirby smart next year. Yeah. That was old friend Brandon Marceau he caught his stir. I know you know, I I could see where he's coming from Georgia's having a replaced both coordinators not as many coaches as ala Bama, but still and they go nowhere players. Yeah. And they lost four players early to the NFL draft still not as many as Alabama. So wonder. This is going. Yeah. But their they lost four guys offense that was very good to begin with. And then they promoted from within for offense coordinator, which means whether the continuity should be pretty good. So they were dealing from an area of strength from where they lost the defense. Did not look good in the sugarbowl. But it was without the Andre Baker and d Andre Walker and the nose tackle, Jordan. Davis freshman, he'll be back Walker and Baker won't so long short of it is Paul. Yeah. I mean, I I still think this is a team that has concerns and questions going into the year. They're they're probably still a step behind clips, Clemson and Alabama and maybe even somebody else, but they they get their toughest games, probably at home, Texas, A and M and Notre Dame. We'll see how Florida is. We'll see how Auburn is. They have to go there. So I think it's probably a lot like this past year. In terms of what the expectations should be that. They should be the SEC favorite. They should be preseason top five maybe number three. But whether they're the best in the country..

And that plan you think that the minute is his chances hang up and listen to you? Well, I think the thing to Harry. Great, Greg, great phone call. I think there's four people that are involved in the Heisman, Trophy race right now, right? To sits there in the catbird seat. Do you have join Haskins the quarterback over at Ohio State? I don't think there's a doubt still Cuyler Murray. I'm not. I'm not counting him out because if they run the table and in face, Texas, again in the big twelve championship, he's going to be able to put up some numbers as well. And also the kid that Memphis. Is going to play this week, Darrow Henderson the running back. He's not going to get a lot of love nationally, but this kid leads FBI in rushing right now averages like eleven yards a carry. I Daryl Henderson in there as well to your question about too. That's why I think it's intriguing of how Nick handles to this week against Tennessee. I frankly, I'd call the Vatican and get the pope mobile and put two in the pope mobile for the rest of the ranger, the season right there that good. I think the only way that any team really kind of gives them a run for their money as far as national championship level is too is not one hundred percent, correct. I wouldn't play to a personally now a lot of people this week against Tennessee. Now a lot of people are saying, well, now you're talking about three weeks what he wouldn't play or take a snap until the LSU game because he was off this week. They play in the know have a buy week before they go down to Baton Rouge. In the third. If you do play too, I likened it to win you play Aaron Rodgers or Cam Newton. In the second game of a preseason game, you're running max, protect your a little bit short. Or pop passes, and you're not getting him out to where he's running the ball a lot. Will it hurt him playing in the fourth could not play in the fourth quarter. Hell no, you know the why the reason why is because the numbers that he's putting up, if they continue to be that good, they'll be Heisman, Trophy award, winning numbers. So to, again, still in the cat bird seat, and that moment could be down there on November the third against LSU, you put a big win against the top five team in the country with that defensive, Dave Aranda.
