"We're back here at the stadium hours before the kick-off and probably nobody outside the teams are counting down that more than our next guest Holly Rowe, who will be on the sideline tonight with the crimson tide and Holly you've been doing this at this level for some time in big games like this. But I'm curious. We'll talk about the games and the meta, but it's three, 33. The game doesn't start for 5 hours, and you're here schmoozing away. Shouldn't you be like in a room sitting on a couch listening to music or something? I mean, I don't know. I was thinking about the kids today. The players who were going to play in this game and they are young people, you know, 18 to 22 year olds, I'm super nervous today. I have so many butterflies. I've got nervous energy. I'm just going crazy inside and I thought, we're not going to play a single play in this game. I can't imagine how these athletes and players feel because it's exciting. Those of us who love college football, it's just really exciting. It's one thing to see it on television. Because we're reacting to our friends or our family. You're watching their reaction. What is that like, especially at this level? This is the highest level you can get. Yeah, I think this is one of the most special moments because you get to see these really private intimate moments. I have a vivid memory of Ron dayne running for a rose bowl record and Barry Alvarez going over to congratulate him and throwing up in his face. There's all these funny moments that happen on sidelines that you never see or never know about. I remember exactly the expression on Matthew Stafford's face when he was a freshman and they told him he was going to go into the Georgia unplanned and he couldn't find his helmet. You know, there's all these intimate private moments that we are the only witness to and it's really special. The narrative is set in stone. We've been talking about it really for 5 weeks. I know there were two games a week ago, but a lot of fans wanted to look past it. As you've been on the sideline for both these teams, countless times this year. When you when you're around Alabama, what do you pick up? What do you learn? Well, I have been studying Alabama like a science project ever since Nick Saban got there because I think he is the greatest living coach that we've ever seen. And I want to know how he does it and how does he maintain it? And so I study him and what I have learned is there is no one who is more consistent. And I mean the walkthroughs at the same time, the schedule is exactly the same. The meals. Now that doesn't mean he won't adapt and evolve as science gets different football gets different. I think what people don't understand is he's been one of the great adapters of all time, but he does it with a consistent approach and it's fascinating. You've seen Georgia started the season with Georgie. You saw them again last week. You've seen them other times, what did you notice last week, roaming their sidelines that struck out? I think they're back. You know, I think watching the film, I've now watched it three times the SEC championship game. And that is arguably the worst Georgia played all season. And I think last week against Michigan, that was the Georgia team that I saw all year long. And I think they played with a confidence and a dominance. You know, they are a big physical team and I think on paper, I think you could make a great argument that Georgia top to bottom is the better team, whether they win or lose today. They are loaded Paul and I thought last week they got back to doing that against Michigan and were the more physical team. And if they can be the more physical team than Alabama today, they'll be national champs, but they didn't do it in the SEC championship game. You mentioned Nick Saban and you've covered the great genome in past summit and basketball who both sides will argue is the greatest coach of all time. I'm only about what 19 championships between the two of them. You've seen so many others, and we had a conversation, I don't know, two months ago. And you really struggling, you were to touch the loose and talking about Nick Saban. I want to go back to that. And piggyback to what you've learned this week. Being around him learning from him and with somebody of your skill set, just observing greatness as an understatement. But what do you see when you're around him? What's the most boring answer in the world, but it's consistency. This is a man who eats the same thing every day. And yes, I have double checked. There is a special person that brought the little Debbie's snacks for breakfast. They are here in Indianapolis, so never fear. But have you ever had one? I have not. Do you love them? Not to get in the middle of this conversation, but when I was in Birmingham, we did a local TV show like breakfast at the sabins. And you don't love it? I don't need sweets like that. But I decided to try it. And we were talking to miss Terry. And I grabbed into his personal jar. In 8 one, and I must tell you, I thought I was going to die. Oh, stop. I kid you not. It was like just freshing blood sugar. Just raw sugar into my veins. And I don't do well with sugar. Yeah, okay. I don't know how he does it. He does it every single day. They packed them to come here. But I mean, it is hard to be consistent. Think about in your own life. You know, think about how you get up every day. Do you make your bed? Like all these little habits that bring about a consistent lifestyle and it's hard to do. And I think I told you this story Todd blackleg gave me a great gift a couple of christmases ago and it was a binder that came from Bear Bryant. It's like a private binder of all of his notes. And there's only a couple of these around. And I have one of them. And I went through all of these pages of Bear Bryant's private notebook, and you would think you're reading and Nick Saban manual. I think that the similarities between two of these greatest coaches we've ever seen in college football and at Alabama, I think would be shocked at how similar they really are. The ability to do the same thing. And in these little handwritten Scrabble handwriting of Bear Bryant, talking about making sure to make players feel good about themselves so they will continue to improve and be engaged. Nick Saban does that. How are you? I should gather stories for this week. I want to get to one in particular, but I'm curious, the game ends and you're not like that's the only game you do. You're doing a lot of different things. But when you start preparing for this game, the biggest game in college football what is that process like? Well, I set out a two deep chart because I think one of my biggest jobs is to be the eyes and ears of the TV truck. And I'm really proud that some of my best work never shows up on TV. It's me telling the director, hey, this guy's heard or hey, they're talking to this kid. So that's a real art and skill to sideline reporting. I don't think people realize. But I've really dug into the two greatest players on Alabama that if they win this game, it will be because of these two kids. And it's bright young. And I think some of the storytelling I've looked at around Bryce young is I'm just fascinated by his mental makeup. He is one of the more mental conditioned young athletes I've ever talked to. And that comes from his dad Craig, who is a mental health expert, Melton therapist. And so this kid has learned positive self talk from a very young age. And in this era, where athletes are struggling with mental health, I find that to be a really interesting side note inside story. And then will Anderson will Anderson junior can wreck this game, can ruin this game can be the biggest piece of this win for Alabama if.

"And I think it would be fascinating. I'm curious before we wrap up your Molly Molly McGrath with us. In terms of pressure, they've already had the pressure. They're so free ticket against Alabama, but it seems like the pressure is on the other side. Yeah, I think some of the players I spoke with said it perfectly. We have nothing to lose. Yeah. We earned our way here. We have proved that we belong. We are the number four team in the country. And I think they're going to approach this game like they have nothing to lose and Luke fickle said that he's going to be really aggressive in this game. He said to take down the champs, he kind of turned back into his old wrestling self. He said to take down the champs, you have to attack the champs. You have to fight them all day long. You have to be aggressive. So I think they're going to be aggressive on offense. They're going to take some shots early. You'll see them going for it on fourth down, especially because they're kicking situations a little suspect. And defensively, I think you're going to see them pressure Bryce young early on. Just to show that they belong. I think they want to take it to the chance to prove that they belong on this stage. This is a football game that we're covering here not. Not a title bout. Something like that, yeah. I'm sure they've had a few in this edifice. Molly, so great to see you. I can't wait to see the game and I know you're excited. You've done a lot of these big games, but a win by Cincinnati would be, I think it would be one of the biggest wins of all time. It would be historic. It would be historic not just for Cincinnati, but I think for all of college football. And it would change the landscape of the blue Bloods and who's in charge. Great to see you. Good to see you too. Molly McGrath, joining us, she'll be on the sideline covering the bear catch tomorrow during the broadcast..

"Our gridiron guest took me a while to get to that. You know how many times have you been the gridiron guest this fall? Do you get something from Johnson vote for being that guy every week? No, they give it to you. I missed it. Tim Tebow was just in case you were wondering, he is the great iron guest. It's good to see you again. We haven't seen you since Atlanta, so much has happened since then, really a lot of talk. I know it was a player. Rice winning the Heisman. He did that. Let's start there. Since you've seen Bryce, you saw Bryce up there and obviously got to hang out. You got to watch another member of the family join. What was that like seeing him? It was a really special, but I think what really stands out, Paul, is I'm not sure that I've seen the winner of the Heisman B is poised as Bryce was calm, cool collected, very much like he was in the last minute of that auburn game. And it's just so real. It's been so instilled in him. I believe from his dad at such a young age, is this mental toughness this doesn't matter what happens to me. I can still get through it mentality. And it's special. I really think it's obviously we know he's got an incredible skill set and he's got a great arm and he's very accurate and he's very athletic. But I think maybe his best quality is that kind of calm before the storm, no matter what is coming against me, I can handle it. That's pretty special. You were always calm on the sidelines. I don't know if I was ever come. But that's who you were, though. In his case, I don't know if it's a California cool. I really don't know, but it is remarkable. It probably didn't hurt that he was the overwhelming favorite. You know what it's like when you're not a 100% sure if you're going to win or not. Yeah. And I think that he knew, but at the same time, man, there's a lot of bright lights. And a really awesome place. And there's a lot of people interviewing you and for him to just continue to be the same and all of that. It is really remarkable and special. So let's start with the Cincinnati game because it's one of those weird games where fans were already thinking about the next game. Coaches are trying to yeah, I don't get into their head. As a player on the Alabama side, let's start there, because you know you're supposed to win, but you also have to respect Cincinnati. You better respect Cincinnati. Are you more talented or you probably better team? Yes. But Cincinnati has played this year under a lot of pressure. They got a lot of hype in the off season. They've gone through highs and lows this year, even though they haven't lost the game. They've been talked so much about. They play very fundamentally sound. They've been in a lot of close games and found ways and spurts to be able to pull ahead, late in games or in the third quarter of games. And I think this is a team that is well coached. I think they really believe that their style of play offense defense special teams are really a holistic approach that they're good enough to win this game. And I think they're going to play with extreme passion, but also a calm of we have to we can't win it on the first play. I think their mentality is, hey, we're going to slowly chip away and the words that we hear from their coaching staff and their team is toughness and grind. Toughness and grind. And I think that's really what they're going to kind of hang their hat on. Besides fundamentals is, hey, we're going to be tough and we're going to fight for 60 minutes and we're going to embrace the grind of the highs and lows of the game. And you know what? We think that's enough. And I think that's really going to be their mentality. So if you're out there watching you're thinking, okay, well, that's good. But how does Cincinnati win this game? So I'll put it to you. I think Cincinnati wins this game if they can create explosive plays on offense like they've done all year. They've kind of been, I don't want to say average, but just a good offense at times and then all of a sudden they hit, explosive play explosive play and put a dagger on somebody. And I think that's really their MO on offense. And I think they're going to give a lot of looks. A lot of shifts, a lot of motions, get too tight ends involved and try to give Alabama the defense. A lot of different looks. And I think defensively, they hang their hat on being in the right place all the time. I just went through last night, their last four games. There's less than a handful of times that they had a player out of position. I mean, we watch bowl games and I'll see in a drive 5 players out of position. And they just are very fundamentally sound and then with the hanging their hat on is because they're in the right place all the time, they get a tip and a pick. They get force a fumble, and I don't think when you compare athlete to athlete, that there is gifted. But I think they might be as confident, which is a big statement because they believe so much in their scheme and the holistic together and that they just think something is going to go their way. We talked a little bit about their offense and they have the quarterback that everybody is so impressed with. The defense though is what they make their money on. Maybe not the right word for college football. But talk about what Bryce young will face, especially in the secondary. Yeah, they have two.

"And when I asked him what those are, number one, he said, is getting pressure on the quarterback. They were not able to get to Bryce young. They were not able to sack the quarterback. This is a team that is averaging almost three and a half sacks per game. Pressuring the quarterback is what they do. So their ability to pressure Michigan's quarterback is going to be Paramount. And he says, that's where we've got to fix things. We have got to win our one on one battles. Those are a couple of the brutal truths that have to get fixed against the wolverines. Holly always thanks for making time. I know it's a busy time down there in Miami. We're inside AT&T Stadium. So yes, I am jealous and I envy you, but thanks for coming on anyway. Yeah, I'm going to go walk on the beach right now. I just want to rub it in completely. So enjoy guys, enjoy. Thank you. If there is any constellation in the really, we're happy to be in Arlington. It is 75° outside, although we're inside. We will take a break. We have a lot to do, including a conversation with Tim Tebow and many others as we get you ready for the huge games tomorrow. We'll recap some of what has already happened today. And it is quite a scene here at AT&T Stadium. There is no place quite like Jerry's dome and we are coming right back. "In Aggie land. Good afternoon. If you've just joined us, a lot of guests, we just talked to Tim Tebow. We're heading to Tuscaloosa right now. Our friend Holly road joining us part of the call tomorrow night for the big LSU Alabama game. Holly, great to have you on and this is so unusual because this game usually pitch top ten teams. We've had one versus two matchups, describe what it's like being there now for a game that I'm in College Station a game Alabama fans are not taking seriously. They weren't taking this one seriously either. So what's going on down there? Well, I am actually inside of the Alabama football building right now. And I can promise you that everyone in this building is taking this game very seriously. You know, coach Saban is at the best at trying to squash out what he refers to as the rat poison, right? And what that means is LSU is going to play Alabama better than any team on their schedule this year. That's a fact. And he needs his players to understand that it doesn't matter what their record is. It doesn't matter what internal strife LSU's going through. This is going to be a physical competitive football game, and he wants his players to not be focused on the exterior noise and the exterior distractions to this game. And I promise you in this building, it is all LSU. They're playing it on all the monitors, previous games against LSU. That's the focus inside the building. Holly, you hear this a lot. There are certain axioms of college football, but have you seen anyone quite execute it like Nick Saban does and is right now no, and you know Paul, I think you're like I am is we are fascinated by what we are living in an experiencing right now with Nick Saban. I didn't get to cover the Paul Bear Bryant era. And I regret that. And so I am soaking in every moment every situation with coach Saban because he is right now the greatest living coach we have in any sport. Period. And I think that it's really important to soak in what he's doing what he's saying and how he's doing it. Because we are seeing from programs like LSU, Clemson is experiencing this this year of consistently staying on top, consistently being in a national championship conversation is nearly impossible to do in this day and age of quick fixes, distractions, social media, get everything you want right now and so what Nick Saban is doing, I hope everybody takes a moment to appreciate because it's unprecedented when he's gone. I don't know that it will ever happen again. And we are seeing firsthand how difficult it is to sustain this level of consistent success because LSU hasn't been able to do it programs like Clemson are struggling with that this year and he's proving how you can do it. In Hollywood, so interesting is I was able to cover the very last two years of coach Bryant. And when it was over, there was a malaise among us because we all collectively agreed. It would never happen again in the idea. That it happened again in the same building. Not exactly the same building. The coach Bryant worked across the street in the coliseum, but I wonder as you when you meet with him when you talk to him, and as you have done with your crew, so often over the years, what is he like to deal with? Nick Saban, you know, a lot of people on the outside looking in think that coach Saban would be difficult or that he would be hard to deal with from a media standpoint. And I tell people this all the time, he's the best that I ever deal with. Because he gets it. He knows that he needs to represent his program. He needs to give us an inside glimpse, like right before I came on this show right now. I'm downstairs with Jeff Allen, their athletic trainer going through their brand new sports science center. The access that coach Saban grants us here is unprecedented around the country. He gets at what it takes to stay on top and he's secure enough in who he is that he's okay to share it with other people like us. But I'm going to tell you this Paul Todd blackley years ago who I worked with for a long, long time. He gave me a Christmas present and it was a bound book and it's a notebook from Paul Bryant from Bear Bryant. And it's in his handwriting lists of things to do. Goals for this season. And it's a manual about this big of the handwritten notes from Bear Bryant. It's one of my most prized possessions. I think Todd blacklegs for giving that to me because he knew what a football geek I am. And as you read through that Bible from Bear Bryant, you'll think Nick Saban wrote it. That's how similar and how close the way they preach the way they teach. Those philosophies are, I think it's pretty fascinating. But every time I leave here, I'm just blown away that Nick Saban got me again. He said something today that I think has changed my life forever moving forward. And he talked about the gap in capability. And it's called the capability gap. What am I capable of achieving or doing every day? And what is the gap in what I actually do every day? And you've got to be great. To be great, you have to close that capability gap and really perform at what you're capable of doing, then you've really achieved greatness. So he said that to me today and I wrote it down and I was like, well, I'm not living up to my capability, Hollywood, get your you know what together, Nick Saban coached me up today again. How I'm particularly interested in one more thing because I know you have to go. But you just spent a lot of time talking to players. And I'm not looking for a comparison to any other place. But you're at the best game every weekend. We're not talking about programs that are struggling and spiraling out of control. We're talking about the teams that are part of the CFP picture. But I'm curious what you hear from his players when you visit with them compared to not necessarily one or two other schools. But a composite of college football in general, because it's so trying to be a student these days to play football. But what are his guys like when you deal with them? And how do you and where do you see the impact that he has on them? Well, we actually got to visit with will Anderson junior who is possibly the best Jack linebacker hybrid defensive lineman that has ever played here at Alabama. And there are young quarterback Bryce young. And when they left the room, I turned to the sports information director, Josh maxon, I was like, wow. Those are incredible young people, incredible. And he said, you couldn't ask for a better kids to represent Alabama football. These are exceptional type of people. And I think Nick Saban has gotten to the point in his career that he is able to pick and choose from around the country, the types of people, the types of players he wants to be here. And I'm sure there are exceptions, not everyone here does everything right. We know that. But these are exceptional young men and I was blown away by will Anderson junior. He talked to us about the Texas a and M game. And after that loss, how the leaders on this team got together and said, this isn't good enough, just because you have Alabama football across your tests, chest doesn't mean that you just roll out every Saturday and are Alabama football. It means we have to put the work in behind the scenes in this building. And as a collective group, they made a goal that when you step into this facility into this building, it's only football. Leave the cares of the world, leave the distractions of the world outside those doors. And that was a reset that they had to make. And I think it's really important to see that that reset came from the players. And that's how coach Saban has coached them up that the players knew when it was time that they have to take over the leadership of this team and they have..

"How did you know they're going to get a reaction? I don't know. But I'm curious, I'm curious about that because I don't think your career ever took you out here for a game. But you played in enough difficult places. Explain to those of us who sit around with our feet up eating popcorn during the game. What that 12th man means there are different names for it in other stadiums and Tiger stadium or auburn or wherever you play, but how difficult is that when you're the quarterback of the other team? Well, there's so many little nuances in the game that change. One of them just being the cadence. You go from being able to use a vocal cadence to being able to use silence, which just slows down some of your motions and some of your changes. It changes your ability to communicate, maybe change the play at the line of scrim with your offensive line communicate with your receivers. And if it's not just quite clear and practice and prepared, then you might have a few false starts. You might not be on the same page. There's been several games this year where the away team, you know, they're quarterbacks looking at the receiver saying, oh, it's because they couldn't communicate. And then you have the penalties from that. And I think probably the biggest thing is the momentum. You know what a and M did so special here a few weeks ago is they built a momentum behind them and that 12th man it's helped to propel them in the finishing moments of the game. That wasn't the same team that played Arkansas. It wasn't the same team that played Mississippi state. It was a different. It was a different team. And you know, I think you could even see Zach calzadas confidence. Change within the game. And, you know, when you have a crowd, when you have support, it really does change the way you can prepare. And that's why if you're the opposing team, that's where mental toughness comes into play. It's one of the things that Nick Saban has been so good at for so long is building mental toughness in his players that I can't fully block out all the noise, but I can do it just enough to focus on my job. As the game goes on and you're having to adjust. Is there a mental wear and tear to the quarterback from first quarter to fourth quarter when you're really you're fighting the crowd the entire game. You are. I think there's a there can be a mental fatigue. I think for some of the really good ones, I think they're just locked in. And they're not flinching. They're not paying attention to the noise around. You got better. I love the opposing fans. I love the hate. I almost like I almost like, yeah, I want it louder. That's why in LSU, I would always go to them and come on, you know? Cheer louder. But it was also, you know, like think about LSU. We would get off the bus and they would pour beer all over you. You would walk in and you'd have three generations of family members standing side by side, every single one of them saying something I can't repeat to you, you know? And that's two hours before the game. And you hear it throughout the pregame and then into the game and then by the end of the game and for me, I was I didn't want to shy away from it. I went to embrace it, you know? And I think that's one of the fun things about the SEC. It doesn't matter what stadium you go to is sort of I guess sort of excluding Vanderbilt. That is going to be pretty crazy. Whatever stadium you go to. Before you wrap up, I want to ask you about the rankings because there was so much reaction this week Cincinnati go home, little guy has no chance, all these things that almost were predictable, but I haven't had a chance to get your reaction to especially Cincinnati. Yeah. I didn't really mind them too much. I mean, what's the better solution? You know, I hear people complain, but I don't want to be a complainer. I want to be someone that brings a solution or a better option. And so I hear a lot of people complaining, but okay, then what's the right top ten? You know, where should Cincinnati be? And I also think it's really hard based on the definitions that we're working with. I think that's something that college football should really think about is coming up with clear definitions of exactly what you're looking for because this committee is a little bit different. You could tell they really made head to head, a big deal. Other committees haven't done that. So it changes and that's a little unique. It's kind of hard to understand, right? And so are you going to weigh a schedule or are you going to weigh a record? Which one's more important? We've seen that change year to year. And so obviously, there weighing the eye test more than just a record. So they're saying Alabama, even though you have a loss, we're still going to view you because of the eye test as the number two team. And Cincinnati, even though you're undefeated, the eye test, you know, we're putting you at 6. And so I think it's really interesting, but I would love to see college football even define it just a little bit more. Tim Tebow, joining us, he is announced he's running for mayor of a College Station and Brian after some of the comments here. I think you might win. I don't know about that. There are places you're more unpopular than you're in the league. That's terrorizing stadiums. Tim Tebow, thank you very much. Joining us. And we will take a break..

"Do think if you if you wanna if you wanna find fault with bright young. I'm not. I'm not in that camp. At some are that he s light and at some point will that play a factor but i think conversely the other side the other side of the fence is going to be a real problem for florida because defensive line from alabama is dangerous. Thanks for the call. Marshall is in south carolina. Marshall go right ahead how you doing. We're doing great and you've got a bird dog fans right now. I get it you know. We're probably probably not gonna win the game. But i mean i hear the clouds and they're gonna throw up fifty points that ardita crazy. Well i think a real problem right now is what's going on with georgia's offense. What kind of identity do they have. And they may be down to their third string quarterback. We really don't know yet and we'll go. We're going there in a few minutes ultimately that you know what is georgia ever going to find identity on offense and i think they need to because south carolina does have a an under rated defensive front which i think even trying to convince me of and i'm starting to come around on that part of the game. "That it was How how does it affect you because you you you still the game's not over and you'll be back in How do you keep yourself to your emotional guy. Anuary how do you keep yourself in a range where you just don't don't go to extreme to know that the time and the place in the moment and sometimes it is let it go be animal be emotional and certain times that can rally the people around certain times you know and this situation needs to be the calm before the storm and i think part of that is it goes with wisdom and discernment of learning situations of playing the game. Because sometimes you know you got rally the guys you got to rally yourself right. Certain games where we played well. Maybe you didn't score. The first two drives. And i knew we got to change the momentum right because right now. It is a snowball for the team. We gotta stop it and we got to get that going for us. Because so much of sports specifically football is about momentum and getting a going on your side right and the biggest shop for florida tomorrow is if they can get the momentum on their side the crowd behind him playing with confidence. We've we see this all the time especially in college football teams. That should not win. Certain games find ways of set people. And you think how did that happen. There's no way when you look at the town. That's what happened. It happened with momentum. And the what happens the other team. Is they play tight. They play scared. They play hesitant. And i think so. Many times when teams have played bama. That's been the way they started. They already lost because they we're.

"I know it's a busy weekend in lexington so as we everyone exhales a little bit before tamar game tell us all about learning about the wildcats from what kind of season there. Ah poor well. First of all paul. It's great to be back with you for another college football season. I feel like the entire city of lexington is just buzzing right now. From the moment. I touchdown last night walking around downtown a little bit this morning. Everyone is excited to get back in the stadium and watch the wildcats play for a couple of big reasons. One though being this new overhauled offense. Everyone's been talking all off season about kentucky's new offensive coordinator. Liam cohen and their new quarterback will let us the penn state transfer. These two are cooking up some big stuff. You're in lexington this season a lot to potentially be on display in this week one but he completely overhauled offense and i would say the word. They used the most paul throughout our meetings. This week and getting ready for this broadcast is balanced. They wanna be more than just a one dimensional team. We know kentucky's been able to run the football pretty freaking well over the last couple of seasons they wanna be able to go through the air and be a threat in the passing game as well wandel robinson going to be one of those goto wide receivers this year alongside josh ali and will let us really i think is the big story going into this paul. Not only are. They excited to see what he's able to do on the field but he brings this level of swagger that you haven't quite seen at the quarterback position at kentucky in quite a while so i think fans are very very excited to see what this offense looks like about twelve o four tomorrow. Listen i know you just got through talking or at least earlier to coach mark stoops and he is a cool customer. He doesn't give a lot away But it just seemed like visiting with him and hoover. He's pretty confident. In a lot of people think this team has a shot at at least maybe making a run at that runner up position in the us vibe from him. Yeah i would totally agree with that. I think they feel very confident. And talking to coach stoops in our zoom meetings. Yesterday you know. He's one of the longer tenured coaches in the sec. Right now we asked him you know. Does it feel like you've been here for as long as you have. And he said you know at times it does at other times it feels like i've blinked and all these seasons have gone by but he used the word reset feels like. We're really able to start fresh with this team. They dealt with the law the past couple of seasons when it comes to injuries last year we all know all of the obstacles that college football teams faced this year. They've brought in some new guys. They're confident in what they have on both sides of the football because let's not forget that defense is returning a good amount of seniors as well so this is a kentucky team that i think is comfortable being in that position where they always feel like. They're not getting enough respect. Maybe they're being counted out a little bit but coach stoops definitely feels confident in what they're bringing out here tomorrow and tomorrow will be a good test for exactly what kentucky is going to look like what they're going to build on throughout the rest of the season because don't forget we to is a huge matchup for this team as they host the missouri tigers. Right here in lexington elissa laying joining us from kentucky. Where you'll be on the call tomorrow for the beginning elorza thanks. We'll see you back in the studio next week. Great to have you on and we have a few minutes to go here. Let me make a few notes We just got through talking to tim tebow. We have roman harper coming up here. In few minutes laura rutledge her first appearance on set during the during the beginning of the college football season. And we'll also talk to cole cubelic in a few minutes live from the swamp. Let's grab kevin of next right now. Kevin go right ahead. Hey paul is kevin little appreciate you taking my call. Hey i just wanted a couple of things out really appreciate your show. slumped a couple of things Granted uk is kind of You know doesn't get doesn't get the recognition kind of the underdog. Your after a few years ago we want Ten games Seven or eight games next game. We've been to five ballgame and so on so forth You know. I really do feel in my bones eight down that. Uk's gonna like really turn a lot of heads this year. We got twelve starters on defense that our seniors are eleven. Out of twelve coca cola. You just mentioned he's coming up. He praised you case. A line I mean they've got one of the best in the sec They got a lot of you. Know returners coming back. We've got more death this year than we probably look at and quite a few years and although their ranking isn't that high you know we've got leftist wando robinson two or three lsu got from Oldness coming in How i think this is here. And i just wanted to hang out. Hang up and hear what. Your continents are well. Kevin thank you i. I think the game next week is elissa is really going to tell the tale to have a great year. Game has to be in the good. You have to negotiate missouri game i. It's it's huge for both. I think it's more important for kentucky because it's at home a win there and then you start trying to do the math Florida always seems to ruin. Uk season couple of years ago. It was georgia. But i i i agree with you. Let's go to georgia next. Go right ahead. you're on the air. Hey paul i've been waiting all year for this game tomorrow night and i'm tired of the fanatics and i'm ready to play the game. I'll stand up in front of the tv entire game. Just like i do it. Alabama will head to kentucky in a couple of minutes and other intriguing opening day game for the coach. Coach mark stoops. Joe is up next in florida. Yoga ahead whole great. Show thank you very much by the new one. Get out contract like my to be any all. I wanna know if you could get on the couch. Both i was a. I must admit i got off the bus late last night. The game started very late. I had to get up early. And i was happy to find out this morning that i could apply to get back on the gus bus. That was an incredible turnaround. Wow is a great team and started slowly. But they won the game. He was having fun on the sidelines for change. I i think he's i think he's going to be fabulous area and i i i become much bigger. Fan of ucf. I just think there are more embraceable than they've been in past. They're not trying to be something that they really don't need to be there. Just a really good football team. That won one of the most dramatic games of any year. It just happened to be on the first night. So i'm glad to and by the way at auburn was suffocating. I mean he. He knew he's known for years. That people out there had their knives out for him. And i'm glad to got out of there even though he got fired the big twelve interested in them. Would you join a few. you'd see. Oh yes i think you have to and yeah. The reports are today that next. I think A lot of people reporting this The next friday the big twelve is going to invite ucf houston cincinnati and and and byu. The i think it will happen. I know there's a lot of trepidation going into the big twelve right now but i think for. Ucf they have no choice. I know where to rescue told us yesterday. The other night he's angry. He's going to be angrier. But you see us i mean. Ucf becomes a power five school for now. Exactly i i agree with you. Your question and you can villone september. I don't know yet It's possible we we schedule week to week. There are a lot of. There are a lotta complications -cations in booking too far to shows ago campus to campus so the to work together and try to find the best suitable replacement for not not replacement but We we hope to get there that that is certainly going to be. A big game can is in new mexico. You're on the air. Hello ken thank you. Paul always an honor a privilege to be on the show Just calling to say. I watched the whole tennessee. Game last night and I think pretty much what you've said so far is spot on Go with led zeppelin. Today was good times bad times spots bad and others And it's hard to tell it gets a team like bowling green. So let's hope the good couple of other good things so that i noticed it you know. I didn't think last year. I would miss the fans so much. Is it in great to have the fans back in the stadiums. It makes it so much better. Yeah and listen. I am being married to someone in healthcare. I'm i'm as cognitive about the concerns about the the delta variant. But i'm also not going to let it destroy my love and your love of college football and last year it just felt like we had one hand tied behind our back. I want people to be careful. I want people to be safe and also want everyone to embrace what we're about to get into this weekend. I agree and You know it's i've been vaccinated. Wear the mask whatever it takes to get to a game and Was noticing joe. Milton the third. You know i think i see. He's got a rocket of an arm concede some improvement. Once he gets more familiar with the offense he'll be a lot better And the other thing. I noticed supporting the number. Seven worn by congress holloway back in the day. I has urban anyone from tennessee where that number and years at least that he wanted to played much. I can't remember can you. I can't either. And i'm glad you mentioned which he was. Honored last night He is such an inspirational figure in college football history. Those may not pay a lot of people may not realize grew up in huntsville alabama. He made a tough decision to leave the state to go away from the the main schools And i'm glad he did he. He made the most out of his opportunity and spent many many years. Working for the tennessee evolves He was a con. Thanks for the call. Conrad countries was also a great baseball player and he had a really fantastic career. Hey thanks for the call. "For a better tomorrow. Movement can even bring us together when we're still because if we're focused on the next move we don't have to worry about what's behind us. Goodyear more driven. It looked like a first game in new offense. I i really do like Josh hi pulled his offensive line. I think he's a really good quarterback coach. Things are really good offensive coach. Tennessee still has a lot of culture changing to do. And i think it's a good start. They gotta w. But i also think for even joe milton their quarterback. I think he made some good place. You could see his talent but he's also got a lot of ways in which he could learn adapt he had quite a few middle of field throws that were opened that either held onto it. He took sacks he held on the ball too long time. So i think they made some good strides but they're still a long way from where at least a lot of tennessee fans want them to be. There are a lot of really cool. Things i get to do on a weekend like this but my favorite just being a talk show host is to sit in meetings with tim and and others and i just sit back like i'm not even here. Takeaways is your perspective of everything. and it's unfiltered. Maybe what we stay on the air. But i wanna talk to you about florida for a second because i just i hear from you and i realized again tomorrow night as manageable but in two weeks the country will be watching. You sound not put words in your mouth. But i will. You sound really fired up about this team. And the quarterback. Well i think fired up about to their quarterbacks i think emory is going to be have a really good season. I think he's He's developed over the last couple of years. I think he's smart. He's athletic. he throws a good ball. And then i think you're also going to see a young player. Anthony richardson who played a tiny bit last year. But i think you're gonna see him. Come onto the scene play. Probably he'll play the third drive saturday he might get a couple of drives and but then as it gets more and more. I think you'll see florida. Use him a little bit like florida. Use me my freshman year. And that was. I was thinking like the florida ever done this before this. I think he's actually let me if you're not in florida fan. You probably haven't heard this name very often. How would you describe him now. He's from a school in gainesville. Small school how. I mean the other than reincarnation this as a freak really. Yes i think he is very gifted athletically i think he is gifted as thrower gifted physically gifted with speed. And i think the one thing you have to find out as you know in those big moments will hinder handle pressure. I think you will. I think so. I think florida's in great shape with two special quarterbacks. That can i think anthony income in the gaming give emory a break to on third or fourth in short and and really help the team as well. I wouldn't be shocked if you at some point you see them both in the game at the same time that that was part of a national championship team that you've played on one of one of the two in terms of the cadence the rhythm of the game. How how is that when you're when you're when you're actively moving them in and out. I think it depends on the players. I think it can be hard times if not done well but if done well it can be very successful especially if they bring something different to the table and i think emory's the guy. I think he's going to be the every down quarterback but when you have a talent like anthony. I think that's someone you want to get in the game. You wanna be able short yardage third down change up you know whatever take pressure off. He can do so many things. I mean. you're talking about someone that is you know six four hundred thirty five forty pounds. That's gonna run pretty pretty fast. I don't want to just say what you know. He's fast he's going to run away from a lot of people. Okay another quarterback. I want to ask you about is is the is the one that will be quarterbacking. Lsu mcjohnson tomorrow night Yeah we're we're at friday. We've been talking about two weeks one week. Now it's tomorrow night against ucla that they they had. They had a pretty deep bench. Now they don't at that position. Yeah i'll tell you. I've been really impressed with him though. He is in a tough position. Third-string quarterback last year for whatever reason he finally gets a chance and he really stepped up and played well especially in the face of adversity going to swamp being down against a really good florida team finding a way to come from behind playing with a chip on a shoulder. I'm sure his dad has a lot to do with that and instilling that in him. And you know from everything you hear is really taken. The team by storm is leadership. And i think that lsu is going to need that a lot this week right you know everything that has happened in louisiana. The team flying out early the team all the way in the west coast playing the rosebowl. It's very easy to walk in there. And oh my gosh. This is the rosebowl bowl right. I think he's going to really rally him to this. This is another game. Let's focus because i think lsu plays locked in focus to the best of their ability. I think they're a better team than ucla. But i do think. Ucla is gonna come in very hungry to see if they can pull the upset. It is so great to have you on friday afternoon and we look forward to every chat. Tim many many thanks and we had not a single person here when you showed up and a couple of people have dropped by. I've always happens was great to be with you. "Everyone was going crazy over. And then of course we had last year What what what do you make a deal. I think he's a really good player. And a better young man. I think he's a young man. That i honestly. I'll be rooting for all of his games. Because he's an incredible young man. But i think the biggest question mark for for deer king and this miami offense is knee healthy. It was only a few months ago. He tore his acl. And now he's rehabbing in. Yes everybody's talking about. He ran twenty miles per hour. That's in practice. And that's running straight ahead. It's different when you got will anderson and christian harrison all these guys chasing you and you've got to cut and spin die for first downs because let's be honest. Miami has a chance it's because he plays out of his mind to give them a chance and his knees not healthy enough to do that. Miami doesn't have a chance in this game. it's gonna come down to wrestlemania lashley in his game. Plan being no huddle uptempo indira king-making place because you look at the last fifteen years the teams that have found a way to upset alabama. It's because those quarterbacks have played extremely well with their arm with their leg but also making great decisions with their brain of being able on third and short to be able to find a way to get in the red zone scoring touchdowns and if his knees not fully capable of that. It could be a long day talking to tim here. And before we move forward i want. I want to go back to last night. We we handed off to the game From from the from the nation set and we were all expecting an explosion from josh hypo. The score may have indicated that if you didn't see the game you what did you take away. Well i think they've made some tweaks offensively. I like some of the things. I still thought they were Does this sound familiar. You've got one device that lets you catch the game.

"Here is paul finebaum. Show our to podcast and on a very busy friday afternoon. Clear skies across the south where two of the big games of the year. We'll be taking place one right here across the street from the college football hall of fame where we are and the other one in uptown. Charlotte were all eyes will be on georgia and clemson. Of course that is the biggest game of the first weekend. Abc abc doing the call and on the sidelines. We'll be holly rowe. Who is joining us. How it's so great to see you. It's been way too long now. You've been busy but Thanks so much for making time. How are you my pleasure. It's great to hear you. I know it's quiet now. He won't be. He won't be that way tomorrow night. So i'm really curious as you have gotten ready for this game which Everyone knows is epic. Take us through your reporting What you've learned and what your are. Well i was able to go to both teams practices. Clemson had a scrimmage about a week and a half ago georgia practice. And what i learned was really interesting number one. There's a lot of question marks for both teams were really unsettled at center for both teams right. Now we're not exactly sure who's going to start at either place and let me tell you about for georgia. It's of fascinating warren erickson. Who started the peach bowl for them and was projected to the starter broke his left hand about four weeks ago. So what did he do. He had surgery got a pin put in but he just taught himself how to snap with his right hand. So will we see him start and snap with his right hand or will he be well enough that he can go back to his natural hand snapping. That's a big question mark but behind him is cedric van grainger and he should be pretty good. I saw him at practice work with. Jt daniels the quarterback georgia and they looked really steady and comfortable with each other. So that's one kind of interesting storyline. I learned from practice. And then for clemson. The other thing. I learned it there. Scrimmage watch out for will shipley. He is a true freshman number one. He's from wedding to north carolina which is about forty minutes away from where i'm sitting and he's gonna burst onto the college football scene. Paul he he did a kickoff. Return for about eighty yards in that scrimmage and like whole leaf freshman. He's going to be fun to watch. So those are a couple of things. I've picked up leading into the game. How if i could go back to the the injuries situation. Georgia you know if you if you read the headlines. It looks pretty pretty bad. But you know we're also not counting the fact that this is a really deep team and kirby smart has recruited so well but just in engaged getting the vibe talking to coaches. I know they're concerned. But you know what impact The beyond the obviously key players. Well i think the biggest injury issue is for them in the secondary georgia's secondary Before they even had a moment in fall camp had lost eight players five players went on to the next level. Three players transferred. I don't know many teams in america. Paul that consents stain attornal turnover of eight players in the secondary so to me. That's the biggest question mark and kirby smart said that his biggest question mark on this team will then you add in some key. Transfers and one of those key transfers tikey smith is not going to be able to play in this game most likely. He had a procedure on his foot. The he is doubtful. He was expected to probably start at corner. So that's a really big deal and then let me throw in one other little fascinating story line in that secondary that been so heavily. Turnover dairy on kendrick is a player. That clemson fans out. There are going to be like wait a minute. I thought he played for us. Well he is now playing for georgia. He was dismissed from the clemson football team and he is going to suit up now for georgia and very likely will start against the team that he was playing for last year. So it's kind of a weird thing that we're gonna have now in the transfer portal and the the way transfer rules have changed but that'll be an interesting storyline. How he looks against his former teammates. Holly rowe live in charlotte. How you've covered so many Epic games network and national championship games. Nash college semifinal games. I bring that up because if you listen to sports radio Do a lot of it. I mean this is like the biggest game of the century in context. It is the opening game. I as you visited both campuses as you talk to many many people. What what is your sense of how they are treating a game like this and and their their comfort level in getting ready for this biggest the biggest stage of the first weekend number one. This is an epic game. It's the first time that these teams have ever played against each other when both were ranked in the top five. And why is that significant. Because they've been playing since nineteen o three paul. The last time in nineteen zero three. When they played john heisman was actually coaching for clemson. Think about that so it is epic. Because it's the highest rank. The most hyped the most talented. These two teams have ever been meeting in this rivalry and then it's a really big regional rivalry. The schools are about an hour and twenty five minutes. Apart they have battled for recruits over the years. I mean there's be kids playing in this game that were recruited by both teams and lost out by both teams. And so i think the radio pundits yourself included. Have it right this time. it's epic. It's huge the hype is real and it and it should be hyped up holly l. Let me get to.

"Now we did see W N B a back yesterday. And what's that? What's the one headline that you're seeing this morning? Katie George, from WNBA being back Okay, so actually just Googled it just for Research purposes, right? Not that you were just going to ask me that so I just typed in in Google search WN Ba The 1st 3 headlines are WN. Ba players walk off Court during national anthem before season opener Next one W NBA players walk off court during during during what I'm going through 12345678 Headlines before I get to use a Today's WNBA returns. Liberty Storm Players leave court before Anthem. That's the story right? And that's why I said the lie will get halfway around the world before the pants or the truth that even has a chance to put its pants on. Correct and so yesterday, and by the way, one of these stories is ESPN Twitter account itself. So let's not say that it's everybody else. ESPN Twitter account ran. This is well to over four million views of a video. Of the WNBA doing a fantastic job on the say her name social awareness of Briana Taylor campaign. It was, It was well done. We've seen, you know players from all different sports. Talk about black lives matter. This is part of this right W NBA very strong in their beliefs and doing that. And so, the first thing I see Is all right. That happens. The national anthem is played and then WNBA players walk off. I'll be honest with you. I've been in favour of everything you guys know we've talked about this on and off the air. Like black lives matter has been an awesome strong campaign players kneeling during the anthem. We knew that it was never about the politics of it. It was it was about, you know, just bringing awareness. Like if you were educated enough. You knew that that was the case, right? Did this upset this upset me, right? And then I almost took to Twitter. Katie and I almost just put out the salvo like everybody does. Like, I can't believe this. I stand up for all this stuff. And you know what? Let me let me double check this. Let me make sure I'm understanding this correctly, and I could not find the actual video of this. And because I couldn't see if the anthem was actually being played, or this was before. Holly Rowe than tweets. How go No. This was the players leaving. They went back to the locker room. And then the national anthem was played on. Not unlike every single college football game that you and I both attended a lot of it. They come out for warm ups. They go back in the locker room national anthem is played. When they come out, they play a game. And yet this goes to show you how quick people are wanting to put in their political two cents, Ah lot of times and jump on a story when they haven't actually research Said Story. And it's just I thought it was a good lesson to learn for ESPN as well. Two on how to handle this any such a touchy subject right now. It was interesting. I got the alert right on my phone because I have the ESPN app and the alerts on loud and sew it deemed and I immediately went to it. And I saw you know the headline that they walk out during And I was like, Wow, that's pretty bold. And I wonder what the thought process was behind this because, like you, I jump Tio. It's one thing to kneel, and now we've all been educated on what the kneeling represents during the national anthem, and you see teammates put their their hands on their teammates, shoulders and it's a powerful moment, right? We saw that with MLB is opening day throughout the opening weekend. We've seen that with the MLS as well, A Zen ba scrimmages. But for you to walk out during the national anthem, I was like that's taking disrespect to another level, right? And so I was irritated when I read the headline, and then I went and watch the video. And I couldn't hear the national anthem being played. I could just see the women walking off the court and so I thought. I don't know if this is just bad quality and video like we don't have the sound, but I actually can't hear the anthem. But still, it's a bad look, Lynn, and maybe this was the WN Ba players saying, Hey, we need to like up the ante here. We need to make headlines because we want, you know, eyeballs on our league and we want to make a statement. That's where I thought it was. That was at what four o'clock? Three o'clock yesterday. But then, as I started researching more, I was like, Geez, I don't know if this is actually how it went down until Mike ate, texted us last night and said, Look, here's a correction and ESPN actually put out another alert and corrected itself, which I thought was big time. Because not everybody that I just read off all these headlines. Do you have done so or even updated their articles online right now to change the wording during two before walking off before the national anthem as compared to walking off during is a completely different optic, in my opinion, and so the fact that they walked off before, and this is their way. Of saying We're going to protest. I understand it, and I'm behind it. But to your point it was a great learning lesson because I like we've joked about people want to be outraged for the sake of being outraged. I was outraged yesterday unfairly because I don't have the facts. But neither did any news outlets either. And that to me was

"Hello Robert Matthews brothers and we're back I'm Holly Rowe shot filling in for how we Kerr today on this lovely Friday I'm excited to get ready for new year's eve how bout you if you'd like to be part of our conversation he give us a call at eight four four five hundred four two four two yesterday I talked about something that I'm a I'm a political consultant and one of things that are I am seen around the country that's not being talked about we've been told the Democrats feel that they're doing so well on impeachment but actually behind the scenes they're preparing for losing seats and there spend the D. trouble see is spending money and seats and then and other seats are we seeing that congressional members open up their war chests to try to save themselves and in this case the the person we're gonna talk to odd next in this case the incumbent has a huge war a war chest but instead of using her war chest she decided to spend all this money on basically campaign literature newsletter promoting anything but impeachment our mailing out to all the voters trying to save herself of her next November so I thought we talked her opponent date Ronda Kennedy right now who is running out in California yes there are seats that have flip back and forth between Republicans and Democrats out in California is not like Massachusetts where it's pretty much all Democrat but you Rhonda Kennedy is joining us right now online good morning good afternoon Rhonda I internally Hey thank you for joining us the doesn't seem to be frightened out in your seat that your opponent Julia Brownlee is I you know spending taxpayer dollars on newsletters to promoter self yeah I mean it yeah taxpayer dollars get it Hey I mean come on Alex doesn't have like over two million dollars in and her campaign account you could spend their own money our money right I'm so tell us a little bit about yourself your Republican running for Congress I tell us about yourself tell us about the district I yeah I'm a Republican running for the twenty six congressional district here in California it's a very durable district exile if the purple district it was previously held by Republican before Julia brown leach Delia probably it's been able to determine the rate are and dad and win reelection because she she doesn't really that likes to be public and when she's in Congress except for when she's voting to our project in future president does she he's kind of a scaredy cat well she she doesn't like confrontation with that horrible for for Congress and I mean I want a fighter in Congress personally each that Julia rallied just that you know just get on the radar she that one trick pony an action adventure which you know I highly support that after my dad with the amount that but there's more to the country and just you know hiding behind aren't that many women that served in our military to actually have to do her job well you have a very unique background as you know being a candidate for Congress I tell us about some of your relatives and then like how many children do you have in your running for Congress yeah I have six children portal I am I have three adult children a range from twenty nine at twenty six twenty three and then I have a seven year old triplets that triplicate turn seven on the twenty first Annabelle beyond Ellie and their eyes it's a very busy household very exciting lack of port and politics right at my black my great great grandfather was Wednesday at runaway slave who joined the that several warrants are boy and then head and he went on to be the first African American elected to the state legislator and he made acting by being the first ever provide over and a state legislative body felt that it it runs in my blood all right now everybody's wondering and we're hearing all these things that your governor out there is just so bad how bad is it out there in California with the homeless and everything else that's going on out there it's very sad that the homeless problem has is currently got it worse due to the fact that you know governor needs and now it's it's doing absolutely nothing I mean we had governor brown previously but thank governor anything to force the ground and that's completely free yeah I know it's like it's like take me that today the round because they're gonna need them SO Morrible homeless population is currently increasing and not used to the fact that people are losing their jobs in their homes because California is she can print that out I mean like like including Julia rally I mean she's like the pied Piper of this issue if we don't ride out of town and they go to places like active Arizona and actually when when governor Perry was governor of Texas he actually had a whole office that just recruited businesses from California I am and so when we lose jobs you know people in there people in their homes a lot of are one paycheck away for for being infected and they end up on the street there's families living in tents on the street you go downtown LA a looks like it looks like an episode of the walking dead there's just only everywhere can't everywhere people walking in the street coming after the car asking for money sometimes you can't even get through the streets because they're there and I can say that you know that the one you're on TV the model like shifty shocked at how reform peach made and that people will be their district are the worst you would think they would come home and take care of their constituents but they don't get too busy and Congress trying to impeach our president and and try to get you know that they're there next yeah wow know your district is also been plagued with the problem of having the lights constantly shut off yeah that the white the white and the power goes back because because of allegedly that this fire sat down are being started by the the power line and the transformers find it you know it had nothing to do with global warming is quite I you know the governor blamed it on you have to do with faulty equipment and and and lack of maintenance and lack of you know cutting that the brush should back away from the line away from the transformer boxes that we're yeah we lose power I mean it it really is like a disaster movie out here in California I mean you would think that it back the apocalypse happened with all the homeless were going out sh if if we had a tornado I yesterday or the day before yesterday it is just absolutely California is becoming the like of the factors on and in your the incumbent is been focused more on impeachment than actually helping California including I mean I I would just think like people out there will be demanding like get the light sign people here at eight you know relatively but there's a lot of this is a large Republican district however you know Democrats you seem to have the loudest voice because we say something other Republicans were ostracized online where captain bills will be I mean I've been a tactical should be added by you now have got the tax going on right now whenever you speak out against what's going on and if you support the president and you know your enemy number one here in California but it's a very my district is a very doable district and you know the president is going to need our support comes twenty twenty we have to take the house back because when that president trump wins reelection either to the Democrats it's got start impeachment process all over again twenty twenty and we need to have we need to secure the house so that that that happened and that we definitely need to you know defend the presidency against people like Bloomberg who won't back you then slave labor women prisoners to make his campaign song called which is just disgusting I know I saw we saw that and talked about that yesterday which is a great mean this guy is a billionaire multi multi billionaire and he's using you know prison workers to make his robot we make his calls to voters ME that's you we just talk about craziness I've never heard a new politics a long time now that's a new low I know not only are the president but they're they're waiting you know I mean it thank you know there's a lot of room and you know man that victimized in the past with that I think violence the baton and here they are being used again by by Bloomberg mislaid labor so quote it's absolutely crazy out there now you are in a position if you were to win to be able to take on the squad it tells a little bit about that yeah I got the women are going on Jack I mean everybody's I don't know why you know their Congress members are free to take them on and bag you know a healthy and that's why they're so wild and there will gain eternal and their colors and there's one thing I like I want take only because it's you know it's easier fight them and ale fear the believe they've been going I chat I mean I present a mind but he needs help in Congress want to take on a black I honestly don't think they'd be able to handle the hunger well you know not only are you mother of six which you know get you out of that get you well primed for but you're also an attorney as well yeah I'm an attorney as well so I actually look at the different ones that are being passed actually I either constitutionality see if they fail to hold after because you know if they're challenged in court the waste of money the waste of taxpayers' dollars when Lazar challenging court like California California gets wacky challenge all the time and when you think about it California they're paying for it not only on the state side but we're also paying our federal tax dollars goes if you eat a prosecutor or and why in San California getting hit with a double whammy recall legal bill and they'll even if they were if they were one cat you don't want to start packing membership ocean they're thinking about their reelection it was you know they want to actually do their what they're supposed to do and actually save taxpayers money that would be I think it's very important if you're a lawmaker that you actually know the law all right well you are the Democrats are seem to be so scared of you at one point they tried to put in another attorney named Kennedy to try to confuse voters in the primary you were able to kind of expose it out there in the media and so the guy kind of slithered away does it does that make you think that like look I truly are Brownlee is just so desperate to hold on to the seat there's no dirty trick she won't try yeah there's no dirty tricks that that that they will try their actually scared me as a candidate because Iran or even family in twenty eighteen and I was actually able to grant Democrat precincts so Jerry Brown he's not gonna get one Republican to vote for her but I'm going to be able to peel laughed at some of her democratic votes in it and it's terrifying the Democrats and the fever may feel a woman a black woman a mother that you know running for office again the democratic I mean Democrats really have I think they're not addressing the issue of the everyday people they're not addressing the issue of the minority community and I can speak to the yeti not that you know relatable black by and Julie brown we can't do that I mean she goes between our home and and and Richie rich Westlake or she goes to Santa Monica he thought and he's not a down the level with the people he knew some of them are living paycheck to paycheck she needs a reality check and and she should have no issues she had no idea of the issue that gold bond the minority community she can go to her with a blowing immigration and that's it she has nothing out there she because she's kind of an empty politicians well this is one of those key seats that we've got to win if we're gonna kick out Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house and I'm glad round you could join us tell us how to how to people get involved in the campaign how they find out more information about you they can go to my website my website is Rhonda Kennedy dot com thank Rhonda with L. WNBA Final Series Game 5

"Fans we've got a great show for you a lot to talk about Lot to talk about including this amazing Wnba finals series that we're getting right ahead to a game five that's right I haven't heard day five between the Washington mystics in the Connecticut Spun will take place Thursday eight PM. ESPN two series has shifted back to Washington each team has one on each other's home court so that really has it been a factor we'll talk about that we're also going to talk about the drama in La a lot going on there so recent comments by the NBA Players Association I don't know if she CEO President one of those Michelle Roberts has sparked a lot of conversation we'll get into that and I'm yeah whatever else we've talked about well first of all DEB I just want to ask you because we covered allow last podcast you weren't here you didn't even get to number one address your Vegas team that you picked to win the championship and why they're not here you're in all the drama with Liz us you didn't even get to comment on that would you care. Is there anything you want to address from the semi finals the Erica shot like you just totally have been absent I really have let's see I for one I still oh dear dinner for her shot and keeping alive just long enough to make it past y'all teams you tell picked the beginning of the season so at the end of the day really taking her to dinner Garretta when you're in Chicago let me know I got you love the list trash talk that you know it's really exciting really being what would the weight room thing do for us you were on the other team like Oh yeah I it was a I think it was poor timing however I live for stuff like that so I've had I was thoroughly enjoying the comments because I am the Queen's trash talking so I enjoyed it I don't think it was the property the time that that fire DC up to be honest Yeah I I don't think it was the right time for it but I mean I like the trash talking I mean I I'm pretty sure didn't Natasha Clouds Day she guarantees the wind Thursday I'm here for all of his arms well let me just say this real quick like honestly not tweeted this yesterday this is just a little prayer by listening we're going to get into the hardcore seven-minute but this trash talkers the thing has started to get a little bit I tweeted this because I think I heard Jasmine Thomas in what was it Oh yes the game the presser after game four she was like you know people were thinking we're GonNa roll over like basically responding to a question about the get to the championship and I'm like who still saying stuff about Connecticut like I am all for the disrespect campaign because I think it's fueled their players is fire them up uh I'm just speaking of someone who would played on the other team like I'm a little bit over like Courtney Williams saying I get any shot I want to like if I'm your teammate I'm like dude food chill with that because the game three she actually didn't get every shot she wanted to you know what I mean like you gotTa be real careful about the trash-talk stuff because you said you can fire team up I think Connecticut completely fired up about things that people were saying July like please resurrected if that's we do but I don't think anyone has really questioned in being a championship contender in at least the last month and a half now the way they've done it yes I mean did I think La was win again yeah but I just don't know there's just so much I don't know about that now the role player comment that came out was definitely ember that was not in July and when you look at the national coverage if you will about who decidedly was supposed to win aw nobody picked Connecticut I know here espn all of our analysts who decided to make a prediction predicted that it would be Washington so I don't think the deal would that's that's very listen that's still very relevant that people pick Washington because we have a game by like that you have won anything yet you know what I'm saying like I don't know I don't think I picked La to make it. I Don I bic La to make it past Connecticut so but no but they didn't know that Ah I mean I think as a player as a as a player I think that you don't say that out loud you may say it on the court and you may talk to you you know like the teams but saying it you know in the media is always smart 'cause they just give you know like fuel to the other team I think you have to be smart with your trash talking but as a fan I'm enjoying it so much more exciting so I'm I'm here for it I just feel bad that jasmine had to arrest that at this point like they've already won two games in the finals or going to a game five she's still talking about people thinking that they were GonNa roll over like I seen that but I get what you're saying about the role players commentary go which okay that's fine but they've been doing a lot more out here than that it's brilliant it's entertaining I just get worried we're people start doing too much happened because I know what that does the other team you know what I mean like Liz campaigns now knows what that does to the other team like you just need to you need to stay humble because it was dying to Rasi they had to shut Courtney Williams down two years in a row because she got a little bit out of pocket and I love Corny I've covered her since her US days I think she is great for the game I'm loving all the coverage of her and her dad is like dream dad right like he is down he is like supporters aw I'm all here for this to be real careful in this league honey because people never forgets no and you're gonna hear about it later so they better back then yeah you sure will and with that let's talk about let's go into our first quarter so we can talk about something and I'm Connecticut WanNa forget this quarter An- that is game three they wanNA forget that because they latorre L- game three on on Sun a Sunday so just like a quick recap on that so that we can get into what was a phenomenal game for Connecticut Lost Ninety four eighty one on Sunday they look like a very different team I'm just the game before John Clo- Jones had a stellar performance thirty two and eighteen but Sunday came around the MVP returned for one. Washington didn't really look I thought she looked stiff personally didn't think that she moved very well but it Kinda didn't matter she still finished with thirteen points six board she's still played twenty six minutes and whether you've got her for ten percent or one hundred percent you still got a garter you still got to worry about her she's still going to impact Act anybody that is going to have to face her so with that Connecticut was looking at a losing home court or had lost court advantage heading in to gain four they were down in the series two one but last night was a tale of two teams they started the game out firing on cylinders I mean they put together quite a first half performance on they led by as much as eighteen points they were up fifty six to forty at the half and so four we go into the second half of of how that game turned out I'm right after the halftime I'm sorry right before Halftime me Williams actually stopped for a moment to chat with our Holly Rowe and she spoke a little bit about why her team was so energized etiquette game five Thursday Courtney Williams doing her best to make that happen holly according to your defensive commitment is completely different tonight why did you change what did I tell you gotTa Win I you know I was a little bit off last game all back against the wall can't take no plays off you already got more is confidence and guess what she has the game back it up 'cause she doesn't need a screen she don't need anybody step up and do anything for her she could go get shots what she wants them now I thought we were talking about three looks like we're talking about gay four now yeah we're not gonNA spend too much time on game three that's because one we are limited on our time on this podcast right now and number two because Connecticut Connecticut Fan so we're moving fast at eight Dave I'll let you start which you think I thought in game force initially I mean Connecticut had great energy and you clearly saw that this was a deciding game and they do that and that's how they came out and they came out ready and but I also felt like DC they didn't look like themselves in the first half they're known for moving the ball really well in and getting good shots making the right pass and it felt like in the first half they were playing hon of one on one and not moving like they do in making extra passes and it showed because they weren't getting shot and when you're playing a team Connecticut who's great in transition you have to be able to put the ball in the basket and slow them down so I felt like you know Connecticut was able to really do what they wanted to do in the first half but then being a vet- team DC came back out in the second half and just knew what they have to do in turn the tables and we're able to
