"Your host Jake's Isky with me as always are Tyler Hollerbach and Matt Win. Everyone welcome in we are going to be doing our weeks six recap also doing a little preview for week seven as we are recording. Josh Allen just threw an interception. So looks like chiefs are going to win another one here we know Matt's happy about that. I am happy I could use some more fantasy points out of Patrick Mahomes, but a chiefs win is a welcomed sight as Vikings. Fans we don't get too many of those winds so I will take them with the chiefs. No, we do not. Let's not talk about their game on Sunday Matt I gotTa ask You though how is your Monday night luck just continuing to go on because you had key face Keenan Allen last week and somehow came out with a victory even though he chalked up the loss on our last. DID REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY FELLAS. So sure my opponent needed twelve points out of Keenan Allen and Keenan Allen went down with an injury after his touchdown I ended up winning by two points. So that was as lucky as it gets. But how tonight? I need ten points Deandre Hopkins in a full point PR league. As long as I can get this w tonight that luck will continue. I don't even know if I'd call it walk but the way twenty twenty s going I will count as a as whatever you want. I just need to secure this w I'm also playing against Mitch Cal who is my biggest rival I'm sure you've heard me talk about him quite a bit. So ten points skins I would love to have that secured in. The first half yeah. I'm right on board with their I need a big game out of Deandre Hopkins to try to take down Tyler here in the podcast league. Yeah. Where are you guys at? You have your entire team playing in the last game of the week down seventy with Kyle Murray Andy Dalton, deandre Hopkins, and Michael Gallup dollar. You have lamb right I have lamb. All right. Well, I think it'll be close to be really Cold Tyler's projected to win by about ten right now I'm already chocking the W for. Sure I'll undefeated week. So you want in your eighteen league that means the I got maddie ice believed in Mattie ice on the waiver wire. Weird. It's like you listen to me. Yeah. To just pick up anybody playing the vikings that quarterback is going to ball out. The Vikings are terrible. There's your fantasy insight play anyone against the Vikings were officially tanking for Trevor. So start anybody can against the Minnesota Vikings Trade Kirk Dallas. Yeah. Potentially also WANNA a shout shadow to Josh Super Mario you're about to go six hundred on the podcast league buddy..

"Welcome to the fantasy football overtime podcast. I'm your host. Jake's husky with me as always found Tyler hollerbach and Matt wind. All right week four is in the books. Well almost it's Monday. We got a couple of games going on. So you won't hear Too Much recap from the Chiefs and Patriots as well as the Falcons Packers games, but we are watching it live so you might get a few updates. But how are you guys feeling after week for I'm feeling good and I'll be feeling a lot better if Mahomes and Ridley can outscore Todd Gurley by 31 points because that's what I need to win my big life to keep the perfect for a no record. I would cue some music on the board here of like a dumpster on fire. But unfortunately, we don't have that on the plus side. I still have positive balance in my DraftKings account. There you go. So that is good. But other than that, I like having four weeks into us can look a little bit deeper at some at some Dome some data to really see where the rash the season is going. Yeah. What's the biggest DraftKings when you've had so far Tyler this year? It has been $30. Okay. What about you? I actually finally finished first place and one for the first time in my life. I go figure. It was a $1 one. I only $120 but I will take it and I'm already drained that balance that I had and were only in week 4 so it'll happen. Yeah aside from that one. Good game that I had or one good week. I should say. I've already drained the balance. Of course mad. I thought you're going to say you're going to start feeling good after this cold past cuz you can definitely hear it in your voice that you're battling a little something something there a little bit measly. Yeah off the show must go on what we do for Fantasy folks. Yes, the show must always go on as you said week 4 kind of a dumpster fire. There's a lot happening Matt. What do you got for some injuries? Well, the show must go on for us, but unfortunately the show will not be going on for a few of these players for the next couple of weeks. At least some of the most notable injuries from week for Austin ekeler and Nick Chubb. Let's start with Austin ekeler. He's slated to miss four to six weeks with both a hamstring injury and a hyper-extended knee he couldn't put any weight on his left leg. You could tell he wasn't a ton of pain that really really bad. It looked more season-ending to me..

"Welcome to the fantasy football time podcast I'm your host Jake. With me as always are Tyler Hollerbach and Matt Wind. What a crazy week one of the NFL season we had there was points flying up and down the NFL scoreboards. But welcome into the fantasy football overtime time podcast, we are going to be recapping week one. We're going to give you a couple of waiver wire targets as well. But today we're going to start this episode with an apology and Matt talking to you I apologize for Rippin your Naim Naim hines take because. He came out and he had the first touchdown of the Sunday night slow Sunday's game slate and he had a second touchdown later and now Marlin is injured naive hines is for real. He's not going to the team fancy points, but he's for real. So I am sorry I'll Jake I accept your apology. I appreciate your policy I was going to blast you for that. Later you Kinda just took away my ammo stole the thunder I. Knew that was coming. I had to take away your steam before you got. Guys you far into it but yes, public apology I agree with you originally when my take was to it was that both Jonathan Taylor and Marla Mac we're GONNA eat into each other with the fact Mac being out for the season jt could beat him in fantasy points but I think both of them are to have a significant boost to what we originally projecting. To, Jonathan Taylor or nineteen hines owner and fantasy football absolutely predicting Melvin Gordon Austin type situation. How about you guys I think we're going to talk about this later but let's talk about it. Now I mean name Hines if he's not if he's available number one waiver retarget, right? Yeah. One hundred percent I'm I am over paying whatever I think I need to pay to ensure that I get him especially in PDF format it may be a little bit more questionable standard yeah. One hundred percent NPR league. Aggressively target him in Standard Leagues I'm still going after him,.

"Jigs Isky with me as always are Tyler Hollerbach and Matt Win. We've made it to September. Today's is Tuesday. September first NFL kickoff is just nine days away. You guys I wanted to ask you a question who is your favorite player doesn't have to be NFL to wear the number nine ooh, that's a tough one. Actually, you know what is not a tough one? It's a first person that comes to mind Meka. Koivu he is. A center for the Minnesota Wild, he's played his entire fifteen year career with the Minnesota wild always respect players echo out in play their entire career with the same team you have to love Meka quite know off ice issues standup guy the captain of the team. Big Fan. That's respectable. I. Like that Tyler would you got well I might be old but I'd never saw I never saw this guy played baseball, but it has to go to nine time sticking with the theme nine, nine time World Champ World Series Champ Joe Dimaggio share what baseball great their own way back way back you wore number nine he played baseball. So they played in nine innings was a nine time world new mind-blowing. He's also got the best hit streak in MLB history. If I'm not mistaken, it's like fifty six games you are correct. Is that what it is fifty six? Yeah. He's a Stud I like it tyler respect Jacob Oh you who's your favorite player that ever wore number nine mine would be the late. Great. Mayor Steve McNair I was titans fan growing up. So he was one of my favorite players. So Fair was Steve McNair hence that email address you sent us that one time that was some random titan fan boy six, nine, six, nine X. Okay. No, and I'm not about to give my actual email here. But yes, there is a titan in there and it's at hotmail. Okay. Yes. That would be why did you guys know that the titans were my high school mascot I did not fun fact sure mine was I don't eagles do not mine was? Do they even have mascots with? The Rangers. Sure. Oh. Do we have any overtime news? Today? We do. We have a little bit of over. Time. News. Our News today is all around running backs, some injuries and some optimism David Montgomery was injured in practice on Wednesday with a non contact injury right after the injury broke all of a sudden. On twitter thought they were expert talking about what was ultimately happening I'd heard everything from. Yell, torn MC L. TO SEASON Two people being optimistic saying he's going to be just fine I heard it was a paper the I'm sure that was thrown around the he tripped. But what ended up happening was it was a groin injury in well, it looks like he avoided the worst which was the torn ACL is a severe groin injury. I. Don't know how long it's going to keep them out but it sounds like he's GonNa miss some time. But at least he will not miss the whole twenty twenty season as initial fears kind of made. It sound to be X. by up that Tarik Cohen Stockholm Yeah Cohen Stock is going to go way up if Montgomery is out, they also might consider looking at someone like a Devante. Freeman who is still available in free agency so we'll have to see what ends up happening. They're moving on to the next running back injury. It also sounds pretty minor. It was Kenyan drake. Who was seen in a walking boot following practice? Are you guys worried with the season being nine days away with Kenyan? Drake being in a walking boot even though he tweeted out that it was precautionary yeah. Walking boots are never good. If says he's good. He's good believe in a guy invest engelman random. Yeah..

"And we are here in Saint Louis Gateway City. The city of the arch. Is they call it. Maybe the second day of all star weekend. The much-heralded all-star game itself has just ended the Pacific Division. Once again victorious risk. People always ask who cares about the NHL All star game. Well let me tell you the Pacific division cares about the NFL. All Star game keep winning. They beat the Atlantic in the battle of the the oceans. The Atlantic beat the metro earlier. The Pacific basically kind of ruined the event by beating central because all the blues around the Central and here we are the Civic Division. You're all star champions and David Pasternack. You're losing effort. How exciting I feel like I have to mention and that we are currently in the gateway between the ice in the dumpster that ambient noise filling your ears and see the ambient noise? You believe it here spirit. You know. It's true but no it was a fun game you know. I was in the Pacific Division Locker Room. Afterwards and the most interesting thing to me was the battle of Alberta of all the war of words that happened beforehand. We undrivable saying you literally would get off the plane with MATICA shock amid cinema for goal gave gave him a icy stare. And that's about it and maybe something under his breath day said a bit of their performance at halftime. We got a lot to get through now. Why no anyway emily the NBA? I cover will cover the skills competition leaders. Let's focus on tonight's activities. What were your thoughts on the twenty twenty and national Hockey League all-star game in the night of the F bomb you mean the Leandra Seidel and Billie Joe Armstrong f-bomb? It was entertaining. It was it was it was fun. You know what might take away from me was just how many young guys did things just past the next twenty three years old pederson. Twenty one Even Thomas Hurdles Twenty six. This was like this through the showcase of what the League wanted young skill. They sure you love to have announced investigation here. A Sidney crosby here when he's healthy and all that but when you're talking about trying to say this is the future of our game these guys are young and they're pretty darn good. Yeah the only the only division I thought that struggled with the lack of true star power was the metro like it's hard to watch the metro and no disrespect to your your Nico. He shares of the world. The Jacob Slaven Nj Asleep and that's a good point point like no Dougie Hamilton. Because he got hurt no Pinera because he got hurt ovechkin pulls out no Machi not invited for some reason gets gets it gets hurt and then of course it plays Abbasi's. He's not here so the Metro was the one where he kind of felt. Maybe it could use a little star but you look at the other the division teams like you know what the hell of a show for the most part they did and the rosters were heavily forwards. And you saw a lot of like three four lineups out there there for the other three divisions and it was it was a show it was a show for the fans couple across goals were attempted knocks. If Patrick Kane allies pederson both tried the the Michigan move Anne Kane and all of a sudden I turn back into a hockey robot and decided. Oh No we don't know at one point. It looked like Cain was Frankford Lacrosse Roscoe and he didn't do it so we asked him later. Like what was going through your head and he said I thought about doing it and then I remembered my team needed a goal right the aforementioned in hockey robot part and he decided not to then he just got the puck stolen right in that moment of of of contemplation. And he's like I just tried it. It's a better chance of success. Sure Yeah so all right so let's let's break it down a little bit so like you said. I'm like Alvin Berta. What what did you learn about these these battles between Atika chuck and the oilers boys could could they coexist as teammates for one weekend? Play as she plenty of pleasantries in the locker room after it was really really boring. the most interesting thing is constructing bud light which quite frankly. It's not very interesting at all with plastic Saint Louis as he mentioned up again. No I think everyone everyone kind of put everything aside for this began in knew that they had to put on a good show for the league. What I'm curious though and away from this game six ninety weekend? What what does event looks like going forward and we're going to talk about the women later but all the NHL keeps talking about? This event is morning international flavor which is a really weird choice. That's day for the next year selection process and I almost wonder the blessing of this year stars. Drop it is and I also think it'll make it guys care a little bit more not having a million bucks on the line doesn't make them care and and all of a sudden you have little under one hundred grand your pocket after winning but playing for a candidate or a US or Sweden or Russia in a game like this certainly Madison. Do my question was could we get eleven. Finish all start. Yeah for sure. I'm not worried about the finish all stars and we're okay. Well let's get ahead of ourselves. First of all I asked about it. He sounded very excited about international national flavor. I think most of these guys will be more jazz next year when they shift to something national. Here's what we know. Bill Daley said yesterday that there is a high I probability that it will be a team North America than it will be a candidate versus. You asked opponent that's awesome. What do you do the rest? What did you four teams and do a mini term at like this three on three international flavor? If that's the case what do you do with the other two teams that. That's the biggest question right like I. Couldn't you have the Swedes. Finns playing together. Could you have like the Czechs and Russians playing together on a team you have two different like rival Europeans. That's that's yes you could but here's the problem. It was the same problem that they had in the World Cup. What do you do with Andrzej Copa? Tara what do you do with Dreidel. Figure it out you. Could you have as many as eighteen. You're going to really. We have a team and as team Roman. You'll see what. What is he going to do? Seventeen yeah do you. Do you do seven teams. Have Dress play himself with Rice on Petar and yesteryear to south there so I mean geographic. Figured out I agree with you. I think you could do a navy like Western Europe quote Unquote Eastern Eastern Europe in throats. Right side along with the Swedes. Finns and then do year Russian. Whole thing so I mean that's that's possible but I I mean I think it's going to be awesome when they they do? I think it's GonNa think people are GonNa care a lot more about it that come here but to your point emily lake. I remember there. The the north team North America versus world all stars. There's All Star Games and that's where you got these like Rando check defensive in that with very slegers and guys like that who would make the all star third game because they needed to fill out the rosters with these guys so you know you have to kind of shift your perception of what an all star is because I mean basically they have to find people to fit the suit and and it's not always going to be the best guy to do that. Said this could be their solution to the Alex Michigan problem. The guys that are dropping out like this and that and I wonder if it's going I want to be predominantly fan At excels elected if there will be what bend opponent could exist like. What would you know you could have a fan vote for one guy on each not one American one Canadian say the Eastern Europe Western Europe? And you have. Then you have international voting then you have fans in Russia and Finland Sweden Czech Republic Public Germany as we've seen LAFI GERGEN's years ago voting for their people so you make the the entire process international and then you have to have then maybe guys don't want to drop out because it's international innocent south Florida. I don't know I think the elephant in the room is that this is the NHL kind of masking the fact that they're not ought to participate male victims. Far as they're concerned they really do not want to. They did not figure out what kind of World Cup of that they want to our the NHL TA and they're like your players will gone. You like playing it. I like the idea there being a Latvian team and it just all the Columbus goalies also. I why our goal is in this game. My here's my wacky theory. Do either have a trash can there. Also when you're playing his kids or do like three bar set up or the stupid screen. They had up there for the skills competition. Let's go out there and skate around grading last night. Already get Outta work. Always make make it an audition for guys. They're looking for jobs APPs fine there. Yeah or go stop foster show. Let the goalies skate around and actually play. It does make you feel that'd be. Here's the thing about this. This format okay of the three games. Two of them were really entertaining. I felt the the Metro Atlantic game. I could do it now now. I think that's a a a a matter of the lack of star power on the Metro. Not really being a very compelling game but the central and the Pacific was excited because the blues these guys and then carrying a little bit and then the final game was a game like it was a competitive game like it was a one goal game at the end they were actually trying And so when you get in that situation then yeah the goal is do make sense but most of the time. It's just like what here's what here's a thing and we're going to have the skills later my my work goalies into shoot the puck into the targets thing. That'd been great. They had one thing to do last night which was to get scored on by the guys breakaway. Wait for it. They should have something. Yeah I mean that was an obvious place to put him. I didn't quite understand why they were there. But I kind of I'm kind of with you like if you're if you're connor Hollerbach like why would you come back to this dumping after you've hung out like John Gibson previously. Yeah so anyways Any takeaways from tonight. We mentioned Green Green Day. which bring that up for? Those didn't see Green Day dropped a bunch of F. bombs some of them got through the censors. Some of them didn't The most hilarious thing for me in the situation. Besides the try hardness of Billy Joel Song dropping an f-bomb during the National Hockey League all-star game is at the NHL has a two year contract attract with this band. The just basically blew up their spot at the All Star game is there a termination clause for swearing on broadcast. Like I was at Beth for that end. You would think that I mean it's not exactly the best. Look One Lake Bruce Cassidy after the games like this is to be family entertainment. That's the hockey coach..

"But at the retail store, she she landed on her knee and both times had to take her to the emergency room for x-rays. And the retail store is willing to. Tasteless physical therapy. What's your what's your question to me? Do we go any further with this? Or just take it take what they're offering. Well, Donna, you can you have a while to make that decision. You can see how her progress is Donna it doesn't cost you anything to check in with a personal injury. Attorney one thing. I would tell you if they put a piece of paper in front of your your in front of you and say, hey, Donna plays. Here's a complete release where you releases for all further liability. Of course, you would not want to sign that. But okay. Okay. See how our physical therapy is done doing. And if things are progressing one hundred percent, great, probably not worthwhile. But it doesn't hurt to call. An attorney check in with her mom her and see what kind of case, you might your daughter. My half. Okay. And that would apply to both places. I think so. And of course, there's got to be some kind of negligence on these places. Not just your daughter happened a trip over here. But yeah. Attorneys out there that they they pursue trip. And fall cases all the time, and Donna one of those case those firms as Morgan and Morgan since I talked to earlier about having a dream about working for Morgan of Morgan last night. It will go out and talk about it on the radio right now, you can call them. I'm sure they can help you out. Let's go to Dave in Oviedo. Dave, you're on news ninety six five. Go ahead. Thank you. I was wondering if someone has credit card debt and dies unexpectedly. That credit card debt, vapor is or it. All right. So here's the here's the answer your question. Dave if that person has a probate estate if they have assets that need to go through probate, like Bank accounts and real estate cetera. Whenever you do a probate estate. You must give notice to creditors. Creditors have an opportunity to file a claim. And as you can imagine in a probate estate before the beneficiaries get money. All creditors. Must be paid. Now, Dan, if they if there's no probate required. Like, let's say is a husband and wife, and they own everything jointly and husband had a bunch of credit card bills in his name only. Now, he passes away. Everything automatically belongs to his wife. No probate required. Will then that credit cards company is going to get is not going to get paid. Thank you. That's very helpful. Okay. Dave. You're very welcome know Kristie, we're talking to people all the time about avoiding probate in we rarely touch on it. But in addition, we've talked about avoiding probate, it's really about avoiding attorney's fees, but if you can avoid probate too you can avoid having to pay your creditors when you pass away. Exactly. And people do not often realize that it's both. Yeah. All right. Good call. Dave. We appreciate it. Let's go to William and oak city. William you're on news ninety six five. Go ahead. Yes. My ex wife, and I. We had a life insurance together. And neither one of us note anything about atmos-, which it over do, you know, your ex POWs? When she passed away. It's still you know to me, but it was as a husband as her ex husband and the state of Florida as our insurance company told me that state of Florida law denies me of that money. All right. Let's get this straight. You have an ex wife. You're divorced from her while you're alive. Named you? As a beneficiary life insurance. She's passed away. She never changed the beneficiary. And now you're wondering do I get that money since we're divorced now? Exactly. Both advocating amount on each other. And we never had William the law says that when you get divorced. You were all medically out of your ex spouses will your spouse's beneficiary of IRA's retirement accounts, and is a beneficiary of life insurance. So if she had really wanted you to have that life insurance William after you got divorced. She would have had to do. A new beneficiary designation form renaming you as her beneficiary. Okay. With me. I mean, she was I also left her Loppy. Changed because we didn't know. Well, now, you know, but it's too late for you William now. So William what happens your life insurance policy? Now since your ex wife has predeceased you whoever you name is contingent beneficiary is going to get that money. Okay. That's what do I do. About what? About. The life insurance. I mean, what is there to William? I thought we just came to a conclusion that you're not gonna get her life insurance. Okay. What do I what happens to it whoever? She named is contingent beneficiary will get that life insurance money. I was the only name all then we'll pass birthday will be. It'd be part of her probate estate, and it will pass according to what her will happen to say. Alright William thank you very much. We appreciate it. Now. Are we taking a break? Kyle is that we know we're going to talk about. So let's go back to a couple of things we started Chris meeting to finish number one. Is that our son Tommy and his wife Christa they just had their third child, and it will be our first girl grandchild. And so I'm going to go up next week and spend some time with them in dothan, Alabama were Tommy's and law school and get to meet our new granddaughter for the first time her name is Juliet June. And then when things settle down we have more time you'll be able to go back to dothan as well in meter. I look forward to it. But I'm really excited for you to be able to go and meet Juliet. And obviously lend a very big helping hand. So they got the name Chris's. Grandmother's name was Juliet Thomas. Tommy's grandmother's name was June. So they named her Julia June, and I say right on because I had the pleasure of knowing both Juliet, and June, and they were both stupendous outgoing strong, capable smart women and Julia June picks up those things from both our grandmothers, and man she's going to be a powerhouse go. Juliet, go JJ. Yeah. You know when I was talking to Tommy and the phone last week. I don't I don't like to make presumptions about how you know. What you call your child is Julia June, but Tommy on the phone, call her JJ and go ride on jayjay is comes rolls off the tongue very easily. So I'll be holding JJ next week. Can't wait to see pictures. Yeah. And then the other important question was is that George had called earlier about asking if I ever got that muscle car and people who listen to the radio show that I've been looking at muscle cars for about a year now. And you know, I started off looking for a nineteen seventy muscle car typical and thinking, you know, in my vision, you and me driving around in that muscle car. In fact, when we went and test drove some of those nineteen seventy muscle cars. That's what it was you and me driving around test driving. It a lot of fun a lot like a dizzy ride when you step on the gas. I look over you see that big smile on your face. I knew you got it. Absolutely. You're all you're all for it. But then I'm rethinking, and I go, you know, what we are family people. We got four kids and three grandkids and expanding all the time. And I want something I want a muscle car that holds four to five people. And I you know, what I was born in nineteen fifty six I want something that was made some time around my birthday, you know, like a Chevy Bel Air or even a nomad station. Swaggie something. Of course. It'd be nice. If it's got a big v eight engine in it, but the prime motivator. Now does not the squeal the wheels the prime motive of these days. It's put the family in the car and drive on down and get some ice cream, Tom. I think you would absolutely start a new trend by doing that. Who am I going to be who's going to follow this trend with me? Oh, I think other people out there that are like, you know, Tom really has the right idea. Yes. The muscle car is awesome. But most of them you can only fit to people. But why can't you have something that the entire family can enjoy you can ride multiple people in it? And maybe like you said still get some power from that. And especially it's because it's around from when you were born I think so and that's that's my that's my goal. And you know, it's clearly it's when they talk about selling muscle cars and old cars is hard. As owner of those cars is hard to sell them because you're selling something that people don't need. I don't need, you know, at nineteen fifties station wagon and so forth. Like we're talking about. It's something I'd like to have we'd all like to have just for the fun of it. But you know, when the time is right. I'm. Sure, something will come on the radar. I'm looking at it. But we were always talking about listeners out there that if you've got something like that or, you know, something like that. Yeah. You can give us a call. We can talk about it. And the I drive a two thousand twelve Honda pilot right now nothing special, but it is dependable and on the back window that Honda pilot. There's a big ole ad for attorney Tom Olsen. If you've ever seen it out driving around out there works, really well. I parked that on Edgewater drive in front of our office and probably a thousand people drive by it every day putting their eyeballs on it. So when I do get this car, I'm going to put some kind of advertising on it. So people will know that's associated with us. So Tom, I think that that's a really important criteria. Then when you look and make a final determination on this new vehicle. It needs to be something that you know, is going to look great with your advertising. Yeah. We were down in downtown Sanford within the last year having dinner at Highland Bex with the whole family, and we love how in Beck's. Is a German restaurant. And if you haven't been there yet in downtown Sanford, you got to go how maybe it's holler. And downtown Sanford, holler box Hollerbach, and they were having like, a mini, Greta carshow there and across the street. There was what looked like a brand new cop car, you might say. And we're kind of stand around after dinner kind of waiting on people, and we go over and talk this man, and he works for a law firm. So this is a law firms car that has all dressed out like a cop car except in a cop car, you can't have certain colored lights, but they certainly had other lights on there that were all blinky. I mean, it is meant to look like a police car actually a SUV. And, but of course, has got the lawyers advertising on the side and side of the vehicle and. This band does marketing for this law firm, but among doing marketing drives a vehicle around all day long people putting their eyeballs on it. And I'm thinking know, that's probably cheaper than a single billboard every month. You got it. And he said it works. It works. You know, I used to do billboards way back in the day. I didn't even know that had by big but big face up there. Probably whatever ten feet tall believe it or not. All right, folks. We're gonna take another break. My name is Tom Olsen. The name of the show is also take a break. We'll be back in just a few minutes..

"Tell us a little bit about that the the money aspect of it. So feminism absolutely made strides in the nineties. The riot girl movement is is an example that I like to point to sort of a political in musical movement that really seated female anger into the consciousness, but pretty soon after you some marketers sort of taking that anger that idea of anger and sort of selling it back to young women in the form of girl, power, girl, power t-shirts. There was sort of a movement of musicians that aim to kind of be like riot girl, Alanis Morissette and Paula. Cole Alanis Morissette was on the cover of Rolling Stone in nineteen. Ninety five and the cover line was angry, white female. So there was sort of this idea in music that women were there to stay, but they were there for their anger and. For sort of this idea that that anger was now desirable, but it was something that was being sold back to women through music and through marketing. Interesting. What about women of color? I mean, did you see any trends there? Because these women that I all think of it that transcended news and became pop culture. And we all talked about seem as I'm thinking back with a all white or black women. So the issue here is similar today. White women have to fight sexism, but black woman have to fight racism and sexism and some much harder battle to fight. So you saw the Anita hill right is as an example. Yeah. Yeah, Anita hill, of course. So she, you know, alleged she charged sexism against Clarence Thomas and he she, she went to speak, and he kind of book ended her claims with his denials. But he according to the scholar, Kimberly, Crenshaw, Clarence Thomas was the only one who is able to claim victimhood and was able to claim sort of being black and being a victim. She was rendered race lists, white or rape, lists, Kimberly crunch. Shaw? Yeah. And so so black women had to contend with sort of the sapphire in the Jezreel tropes the sort of angry black woman that Michelle Obama later had to contend with as well. So speaking of Michelle Obama, let's talk about more of how all of that effects like the metoo movement today, how it's kind of grown into where we are now, especially with me too. How do you see some of this kind of Morphing into the current climate? Well, there is no metoo without Anita hill. I mean, she was pre hashtag, but she sort of wage this battle against workplace sexual harassment, long before the metoo movement. I think you know, the metoo movement is so powerful because now we have social media, this sort of new vector for women and others. People minorities sharing their stories about what they've experienced. And so it's a lot harder to deny that these experiences are real when so many people are sharing them at once and that's sort of the power of the metoo movement. But the the seeds of it are really. In the nineties and and for what need a hill did. Everyone wants hearing, listen to is just like, I think there's something kind of insidious about just branding to women in general. You know, you talked about like the girl power branding in the nineties, but it also was like the Gwen Stefani kind of like red lipstick as I wear red lipstick like the whole, like looking like a particular type of coquettish hot girl who just doesn't care and she's in a. Right? And and and I think Hollerbach PA back was already in the two thousands. But like in the ninety s she was having, you know, having this kind of girl power, but with lipstick and being hot images, interviews, amazing quotes from her about, you know, I love makeup. I love hair products. She might. He was quoted sort of. She's still lived with her parents for a while and they paid her, you know, her cell phone Bill or Bill and her car like her car payment. So there was this sort of sense that researchers said at the time that you know, women in the public sphere were accorded power to the extent to which they acted like little girls and was such a problem now in this..
