Running out of Money in Retirement With Mark Rolette

"With me. Of course is mark rolette founder and president of south shore retirement services in hingham broadcasting from the brand new south shore. Retirement services radio studio and we're thrilled to be together and to celebrate spring and Certainly better health for so many americans and all that mark nice to see you might be saying and it's great to be in this new studio feel like a real professional mom. Well you sound like one. I'll tell you and it's great. It's great to be able to communicate as we have been all this time even though on occasion where in remote locations so today we focus on a lot of things but today. That's the nagging question that people have what happens if i run out of money and can i possibly run out of money after i stopped working after. I'm in retirement to question that people ask you all the time. And let's talk about how you answer that. Yeah absolutely i as you know our motto here at sexual retirement is nobody should have to worry about running out of money in retirement right simple that that's what that's what our goal is with every client. That comes in the door that they shouldn't have to worry about it. But of course people worry about that all the time. That's almost everyone's number one. Fear going into retirement. Could i possibly run out of money in retirement. And i don't care if you have four hundred thousand dollars or four hundred million dollars. Nobody likes to lose money It's just a case of whether you have the wherewithal or the ability. To weather that storm and righted back and people just don't know met. I bet very wealthy Real estate developers who have the same concerns that Somebody who may not maybe doesn't have hundreds of millions of dollars so that anxiety for so many people transitioning and thinking about retirement shouldn't be anxiety shouldn't be that complicated. It shouldn't be that stress of the wait and see approach and rolling the dice in retirement and hoping for the best. It should be a retirement strategy. That is a solid foundation that gives you the ability to ride out any storm. That's coming so you don't have to worry about running out of money in retirement and that's what we do.

"Dan Rei W B Z Boston's NewsRadio. Yes, you are. Let's go to Ed up in Salem. Hey, Ed. Welcome. Next on nights I growed. It's her idea. Good evening. Good evening. How are you doing? I'm not bad. I'd like to just quickly set up my answer. Today, A woman was attacked by a shock up in Maine. And she was killed. We saw just heard that we heard that I newscast. The minute I heard it. I didn't say to myself. Was she black? Was she white? I said That's so terrible, and I said a prayer for her good for you. No one. No one should die that way. But I feel That Black communities. Not all But in this case where they dedicate The deaths of five women who I would if I heard how they died. So what that would say Fran Flock, They're all black. Had taken. What if they were five White woman would they be dedicating the entire season towards Towards those five white women know and that's not there, and that's not their focus that they're focused. They were very clear the the athlete the basketball players spoke, said that they were dedicating the season two Amongst others. Briana Taylor, I think most people have heard of now the Louisville Mt. Um, I had the same feeling. I heard the same story a few seconds ago. And what struck me about the story? Was. I thought that here's a woman on a beautiful July day in the water swimming for her to be out in the ocean swimming. I'm sure she was an accomplished swimmer. I certainly wouldn't be out that far swimming and I have no idea. You know how close he was to shore, But I'm assuming that she wasn't You know, she had to be out in, you know, some relatively. I just thought to myself Then in one moment, she's probably just absolutely enjoying life and thinking, Boy, life doesn't get much better than this. And an instant later she realizes that probably her life is about to end. I mean, there had to be just a Horrible. So I had the same feeling it. You know, I wasn't. I was thinking about her as an individual right and and I feel it. When people talk about equality. In a lot of under the Black lives matter Group. I'm not talking equality because they don't mention Any white equality is black and white and all others. They strictly just go for like, in this case, five black women and dedicating the entire season and on and they're walking, taken, Neil needs and so forth. And where? Where was the equality in that? There's no way quality I from the boat, right? No. But what I'm saying is, they're not making any pretext to that. There are any pretense that that they're basically saying, Hey, look, This is our focus We dedicate this season. The mistake that I think that the WN ba players make is then. To you. I'm Fairly open to this concern. I don't want to see anybody hurt unnecessarily, particularly by police. Okay, There's a lot of when I think you would agree with me. But then when you take it to that next level, and you're going to say hey, We're walking off for the national anthem. You lose me at that point, any hopes that you had of me becoming, you know, a big W n ba supporter. I'm gone. It's a simple is that we're not talking about one player or three or four players taking a knee here. Um, I'm still watching football. But you're going all Walk off. I mean the Red Sox the other night, the two teams some players now some players didn't on. Then there was some players who knelt during the national anthem. I think the Red Sox only had two or three players who were kneeling. During the national anthem, and so you know, that's their right. But if the entire Boston Red Sox team Well, once the players were introduced, and they were about to start the national anthem, they headed to the clubhouse or headed to the dugout toe. Sit it out. Hold my you now have insulted me. You insulted every one who has ever served in any capacity under the flag in this country, whether it's a military person, police officer empty fire department. You just you just spit in the face of everybody because of your cause, and no matter how right your causes and how just your causes For you to basically say to us in order to support your cause. You have to agree with our decision took basically do more than just turn out back and then actually, we don't even going to stick around. We're going into the locker room while its plate and then we'll come out and play the game that I'm not interested in the game. Sports have lost. May I won't watch him. Because to do that to the national anthem or other things One way is that's not supposed to be the way it is. If people have fought But their lifetimes for everything that we have today and to disregard and disrespect the national anthem is way beyond I could go. Yeah, I mean, and some people some people today, I think I'm one of the other talk shows were saying, Well, maybe what we should do. Since that is of such concern, toe so many people, maybe what we should do is is change the national anthem. I say Absolutely not. You change the national anthem. I'm not standing for whatever song you gotta come up with, you know. If you could come up with any song you want. That is something that is non negotiable for me. Simple is that I've stood too many times and listen to that song. You know, I stood exactly And when I'm out when where I'm out somewhere, Rob, listen in the car, and I hear the other Kate Smith of all people singing God bless America. Tears run down my arm. I just I pull over and I just stopped and I just go. That's what America is. The problem was that it was at a Philadelphia Flyers game. But no, I agree with you. That is exactly what it is, and it's something that theoretically should bring us all together. But that concept is now being diminished. My idea. I've often said and I'll say it again. There are people around the world who hate us. They hate all of us. White, black brown, native American Asian, whatever they hate all of us for being Americans, and if we don't smarten up and smarten up quick. We're going to be in a world of hurt. Thanks. Appreciate you call. Good evening. Thank you very much. Appreciate you go to M J in him. M J Welcome. Tonight's I thank you for calling in what's on your mind tonight? Hi. What I was calling for us to fold just to comment on the MBA Women's League. Yes, I think we can say very simply that it's just a total lack of respect, and it's very sad that it's boiling down to this. And then I can hook it in with the Hingham situations in saying that I am a Hingham resident, and I actually appreciate the woman that called in and commented because I did set up that display. In the center of Hingham to just recognize I I wanted to do it for the Fourth of July time frame because we have a big, huge parade in the town, and we weren't able to have that because of Cove. It so I decided, Okay, I'd like to do something out, so I called up and got permission. To set up. And what I had ordered was those flags, which which was a thank you to the first responders, redline and blue line and I ordered those flags. They didn't come in for the fourth of July, but I set him up soon after. And I painted and put together a read a read heart and a blue heart. Will the Red Heart remains there in the blue Heart, But the flags have been taken down the signs, which represented the flags..

Hingham Firefighters Union Refusing To Take Down ‘Thin Blue Line’ Flags near Boston

"We're going to go to Hingham, Massachusetts. If you live on the South shore if you live on the South Shore. Um You have much to talk about tonight. Basically The South Shore, the town of Hingham. Is probably one of the nicest towns on the South Shore. It is certainly I think, one of the wealthiest towns of the South Shore Apparently a single complaint. By one citizen if I am to believe the Patriot Ledger newspaper, which I do believe Complained about what's called a thin blue line flag won't atop fire trucks in him. Now, for those of you who do not know what the thin blue line flag is. It's a flag that takes the American flag. Aah! And basically Um The red white blue are hushed or eliminated so flag of a black and white with a thin blue line, which obviously is intended to pay Tribute, Tio our first responders. And Was specifically purchased. By the Hingham Fire Department. Ah, too. Show support for the police department in Weymouth that lost Sergeant Michael Chestnut back a couple of years ago in again one of those Police shootings that you would not expect to have occurred in a community like Wayne that there was an early Sunday morning shooting in which The officer. What was approach someone who was acting pretty badly and in an effort to calm the guy down as I understand it, the The individual picked up Iraq, fired it at the head of officer Chestnut, standing him and then took out. The officer's gun himself and killed officer South Sergeant Michael Chestnut. There was also a woman in a nearby porch was simply sitting there, reading her Sunday morning newspaper who was also killed and I don't know if She was killed in a random shot or if she was killed intentionally that will all come out and quit anyway in nearby Hingham, neighboring Hingham. Um, the authorities there. I guess the select people. As well as the fire chief and the police chief told the Fire Department that they had to remove the thin blue line. The flags from the fire trucks now. The these, um flags, um are black and white versions of the American flag with a single blue line at the center. Ah, I have no idea where that is standing tonight in Hingham, But it seems to me that it was a mistake. Now, apparently. The individual who called with a complaint with one single citizen felt that the blue the back the blue themes and the Again and hear the thin blue line flag somehow. Um Offended the Black lives matter movement. Now it seems to me that it is entirely possible that someone could be sympathetic to the peaceful aspirations of black lives matter. Which which would be to have everyone treated. Equally and equally fairly by police officers and never again have what happened either to George Floyd in Minneapolis or Briana Taylor in in Kentucky. Happened again again in a big country like this. Will there be another incident? I'm sure sadly, there will be But The two year anniversary is, according the Patriot Ledger of Sergeant Chestnuts. July 15th 2018 Death an anonymous person Placed about 500 small, thin blue line flags on brain tree's town common near town hall. The flag spelled out the words spelled out the words. Thank you. But after talking with the mayor, I didn't even know that thief hanging ahead of me. And I thought, um, I thought him was a town. But that's what's reported in the In the ledger of the flags were removed from town hall to the Braintree Police Department property where there is a memorial for fallen officers. This is upsetting to me. Ah, I hope it is upsetting to you and I hope that you will Call and and express yourself. Um, this this is wrong because you now Not you cannot. You can express support for black lives matter. But if you would you express support for something other, some other cause. Again a back the blue cause somehow your Expression of supporting the police. Can be eradicated again. This is the cancel culture that we're dealing with in this country right now. Can't according to the ledger, one person, one person made a phone call. And the the officials in Hingham rolled over Now, If that story is changing, we did reach out to him to Hingham officials today. And of course, we had no one who would have the courage to come on and explained the rationale, but From the Um, from what we have Red Ah, the town statement was the town of Hingham has a long standing practice of Onley displaying official flags of the nation state town in military. As result when we were made aware of a banner being displayed on a town asset, I eat a fire truck that was inconsistent with this practice. We ask to be removed. Pingan firefighters Local 23 98 took to Facebook to make clear that displaying the flag of the on the anniversary of Justin's death was to support the law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day. And wasn't no time meant to be a political statement, while the members of local 23 98 or not pleased with the decision to remove the flags will continue our unwavering support for all the men and women of law enforcement. "It's a baseball opening day last night. Unfortunately, Yankees won in five and 1/3 innings over the Nats socks start their season tonight. I'll be watching with my six year old son can't wait. Um, but the Red Sox made some news yesterday, having nothing to do with baseball as you well know, they put up a gigantic black lives matter. Banner. A cz. You drive on the mass pike and you go by Fenway, You know that banner that had Hominy. How many people have died from guns that that banner that was there for the longest time? That's where this is Now It's black lives matter. The giant letters that used the font at the Red Sox B has and then they have the actual Red Sox logo there. 250 foot long thing on DH. It's got the team colors, etcetera, so boom black lives matter outside of Fenway Park. The team put it up specifically, and the team has no issue with it. In fact, CEO Sam Kennedy was asked about it as you would expect, And this was his explanation. Hold on. I'm sorry for a second hold on. This is important because what he says is going to tie and directly into the second part of the story, which and his face would seem unrelated, but it won't be in a second. Trust me on this one. So here's Sam Kennedy. All right, socially distancing the clubhouse, turning the sweets into into locker rooms, building the new bullpen, the new dugouts, creating new entrances and exits, making sure that we're following the health and safety protocols to a T has been remarkable toe Watch and on behalf of our ownership group. Very everybody who has pulled together go to the one that says Black Lives matter Banner, and that's the one that we want to hear his explanation. Ocean of why the Red Sox did this. We don't way don't see thie amplification reinforcement of the black lives matter message or movement. We don't see it as a political statement. We see it as a human rights statement. And it's important to our employees. It's important to our players on DH, so it's something that we feel very strongly about. We understand and respect that others may see it as a political statement, but we don't see it as a political statement or an endorsement of any political organization. Right. So it's that last part. That's the key. The Red Sox put up the Black lives matter Banner, and as Sam Kennedy's, speaking on behalf of the Red Sox says We don't see it as a political statement. Okay now. In case you have been paying attention. The Red Sox got a lot of good press on this. Just Google Red Sox black lives matter. CNN comes up with this story about this People magazine comes up everybody writing about the fact that the Red Sox did this, so they got a lot of bang for the buck on this one for what it's worth, but For me. The key was when Kennedy said, not a political statement, putting that up. Let's go to hang him now. Why? Because down in Hingham There was a somewhat of a controversy. That's been going on for about 10 days or so. Earlier this month was the anniversary of Sergeant Michael Chestnut being killed while in the line of duty and Weymouth hang him being a neighboring town. The fire department there Put up a thin blue line flag and they were, I guess flying thin blue line flags on their fire trucks. To remember Michael Chestnut, You know the thin blue line flag? I assume it's the U. S flag and right under where the stars are. There's a blue Where there would be a white stripe. There is a blue stripe in this flag specifically is done is shown displayed. Utilize to remember officers who were killed in the line of duty, as was Officer Chestnut, so they had been flying those there no longer Why? Because The local union was told they had to come off and they were wondering why they had been flying them. There was apparently a complaint made to the town. And Higher ups decided that these had to come down. And then here's the key reason why lightning are you ready? I'm ready. Union officials were told that flying the flags on the apparatus was a violation of town policy. Why Because those flags Khun be seen as a political statement. End quote. Do. I need to remind you what Sam Kennedy said about the Black lives matter Banner that the Red Sox put up at 250 feet. By the way, they don't see that as a political statement. So black lives matter, not political statement. Blue lives matter or in this case, it's not even blue Lives matter. It's the thin blue line flag. The thin blue line flag now is a political statement. Then hang up. So Fenway. No political statement. Hingham political statement. I guess my question for you is obviously won. Do you agree with me that these two can't They they They're either both not political statements or they're both political statements. There's no distinction between the tool from one in my opinion into Who is the arbiter of what is and what isn't a political statement. If I ask you, his black lives matter of political statement, yes or no lightning. That's a tough question. If I asked you is a thin blue line, flag, a political statement, yes or no, no. Who gets to make that decision And then who gets in Hingham? They said. They got a complaint about the thin blue line flag, and that's how this got started. And now they're down. So who gets to decide what is and what isn't a political statement. We talked about this with the whole foods mask lawsuit, and if If somehow those employees were the win their lawsuit and they get to wear the black lives matter Mask. I told you then Pandora's box is going to be wide open and you're going to see Make America great masks. You're going to see thin blue live through thin. Ah blue line masks. You're going to see all sorts of stuff that you didn't think you were going to get once you open this up to me..
