Hillsborough more near the Manville side. So you know, some people have devastated, uh, devastating losses, But we would like to know what happened to your car. What happened to your home? What happened to your business? How much do you think this is costing you 1 802 831? Oh, 1.5 Anything that happened from the flooding last week with Ida or the tornadoes? Didn't we read that His helicopter touched down a little after 11 30 this morning at an airport in Hillsboro, right? Okay. And He gets out. He greets Governor Murphy and then they get into this motorcade. They get into a vehicle. And then they start off for their tour. Okay. Well, here's an update to the story. NJ dot com President Joe Biden has departed from New Jersey after visiting parts of Somerset County to get a firsthand look at the devastating damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Biden's motorcade arrived back at Central Jersey Airport in Hillsboro at three p.m.. So he was on the ground for just slightly over three hours. Yeah. He got out of the SUV without his jacket on walked along. Yeah, because it was like a real like, roll up your sleeves kind of image. You know what I mean? Yeah. He was probably shovelling mud out there right, walked alone the few yards to Marine one saluting to the Marines standing at attention as he went by and walked up the steps into the helicopter and then By 305. They were all airborne and flew away. So that's all he did was just sort a few spots in Somerset County. Not all the other counties, not the counties that he has not declared a disaster. I'm sorry, and I'm not trying to just beat up on Biden. But are these things a joke? When when? When? When you've got like the leader of the country coming. Is it just really for a future political ad to say I was there? Well, you know, he had to do in New York, too, right? He's heading there now. A bunch of stops, Uh, all squeeze in and people they want the federal money. They want the federal assistance now, if there was, uh Don't know. I need to rally the troops I could see having the president come in, could maybe lift people's spirits, But in this case, I think you know, it's just a photo op, right? Exactly. It did not seem like, uh I mean, I don't know. Maybe later we'll hear about that. There were crowds. I I don't think so. I think it was like a very quick you know, this was hit that was hit. Let's drive past this scene, and then that was really it. It really does just seem kind of like Farcical. That that that this even needed to be done, So I don't know if anybody has a comment about that. I mean, if you If you do, it might just because you hate Biden. I'd rather it not be just that, But I mean, seriously, was this even necessary? Biden being here today There were so many other places that were a hit that he didn't even go near. You may actually be paying the raise money to leave the marketplace. And that's just one of those other tangents in this in this whole saga The other the other sort of big sticking point is that the principal owner of the raise. Do sternberg has come up with this plan. To what what. He calls the sister city plan where the raise would essentially split their home games between somewhere in the tampa bay region. Possibly and the city of montreal you mentioned that governments don't like to pony up money for for stadiums from especially from developers who have lots of money. I can't imagine any government into tampa bay region. Let alone any governments in the montreal. Region wants to Spend taxpayer money on a stadium. For what's essentially a part time home team and that's exactly why it's run into an impasse with mayor christman. It's not the best site for major league baseball in this market. It's too far away from from eastern hills. Even from downtown hillsboro we would like more centrally located site. He's changed his tune on that when it comes to The sister city idea because he says with only forty games at the trump site instead of eighty games a year they are. We think it can work so the mayor is now looking at the situation and and he said that the first proposal that the rays gave him in terms of how how we would build the stadium included them control in a lot of the acreage. There's tropicana field land and getting one. Hundred percent of the revenues from redevelopment on part of the land as opposed to fifty percent so christmans point was. An examination of how the guardian program is being implemented across the state was done by the Tampa Bay times in university of Florida student journalists now if you're not familiar with the guardian program, we've talked a lot about it on this show. The guardian program allows certain school district employees who are not classroom. Teachers to carry concealed weapons on campus was created last year as part of the Marjory stoneman Douglas public safety act. Some small districts struggled to recruit enough so-called school guardians to keep their school safe. Levy county launched a program only to have nobody apply for weeks. Others had trouble with the guardians. They hired in Duval county school safety. Assistant get this was arrested for pawning a service weapon issued to him by the school district. So this guy's a guardian at the school. He's issued a service weapon any pawns it off for cash. In Hillsboro, we had a school security deputy resigned after exposing students to pepper spray in manatee county.
