"Wasn't it? Isn't that right? I'm pretty sure it's her husband, he killed himself, his name was Edgar. I'm pretty sure that's what that is. Or I don't know, I don't know. In any event, or maybe they're named after Edgar Allen Poe. You remember the cheerful Edgar Allen Poe? I gotta say, my favorite Edgar Allen Poe poem. Anybody familiar with The Conqueror Worm? Of course you are, right? Oh my gosh, I wish we could read that tonight, but we don't have time. But honestly, to win the Edgar Award in the world of thrillers and mystery, whatever, just to give an example of who's won the award, Raymond Chandler, John le Carré, Michael Crichton, Dick Francis, Tony Hillerman, Ken Follett, Elmore Leonard, Stephen King, nominated five times for the award and won it twice, Andrew Clavin. All right. Yeah, now you're gonna show him some respect, right? I wanna say he's also written screenplays for big deal movies directed by people like Clint Eastwood and starring Michael Douglas and on and on and on. The book we're gonna be discussing principally tonight is called The Truth and Beauty. When I heard the thesis of this book, I was astonished that anybody would try to pull off what Andrew tries to pull off and pulls off gloriously. The subtitle is How the Lives and Works of England's Greatest Poets Point the Way to a Deeper Understanding of the Words of Jesus. Who in the world, maybe literally no one, except Andrew Clavin, would even think of this idea and then pull it off gloriously. "You know. so that's kind of where that comes from all the titles. But i think has a little stick around that of what the story is going to be. Then i do research and find out things that will complement their storyline. Yeah i usually ask. Authors what fighters inspired them and in your case. I know there's some obvious suspects like tony. Hillerman greg johnson. Let me tony tony for sure. One of the books. I've picked up after robert parker spencer series was some tony's books you know i sorta reason though so robert b parker. Tony hillerman john d. Mcdonald you know craig lately guy. I met craig along time ago and we message back and forth in email. Sometimes you know get things together but it's it's one of those things where reading them. I told him about her dad. I says you know. Your father taught me about the landscape and john d. A robert robert parker had his whole thing was was raymond chandler. Maybe he is circle. That and that's how spencer came about. This dissertation in college was about as i and they grow. You can see these writers tony and robert. When they're first novels came out as they grew throughout the series as a writer. You could tell and things are still volved and got much better and that's going to happen to meet everybody else to writes it. The more you do it. The more devolves gets better. That's great at least right into my next question. Actually i was gonna ask you what advice you would give to aspiring novelists. Oh boy I think number one is never give up on yourself. Never let somebody else tell you. You can't do that because you're a dream isn't there drain and they have no way reason or know how that affects you so always always go. The best always doing reach that goal rain. Because you know it's it could be out there you never know but you don't know unless you try you know Study as much as you can research as you are. I know as much as you can about things because none of us know everything and the more we research i learned about things. I never thought it would alert about in my life. You know before doing this. And it's just an incredible mind. A lot of knowledge let you evolve as or more. You can do that the more you find out about that and just never give up never ever give. It's so true and we learn so much from each other writers do and he's like you said rapper conquer started with raymond chandler. The essentially recreating him. You know we all copy from each other to extend. It's harness the whole ecosystem. If you will like milton berle say he stole from everybody. You know what. I mean you you you read your pickup..

At the crypto six dot com once more the crypto six dot com And earlier when we talked about this captain you suggested that reaching out to more. Bitcoin crypto media outlets of reaching out to more media in general would be helpful. Yep and dave ridley called in earlier forums dot shire society dot com correct or something like that to find out more ways in which to reach out to that media to spread this message. So if you know if you're looking for ways to help and you're not able to do so necessarily financially at this time. Get the word out. Spread the word wherever you can. We could use the the labor help. If we're just writing stuff rating press releases to all those contacts at dave mentioned over at forum that forum stunt shire society dot com. I know i'm always complain about. How incompetent government in new mexico is and elsewhere as well but listening to mexico. Yeah well i know surprise but you know. I'm always ragging on them. How dumb the are negligent and stuff like that. They can't do anything right. According to new mexico dot gov or the number one government in the entire country. Well that's what i'm trying to tell you. There's a number one government man. They save lives today. You know they. They might have traffic. My children By their stupid mistakes but they save kids lives. Today there was a kid that was going gunned down entire school a little elementary school. Tony hillerman school today but this teacher save the day and prevented the shooting because she saw the guns she called the cops and they locked on the school and then they evacuated the school and then they had the the gun sniffing dogs. I didn't even know they have gun sitting dog gun. Dogs come in and clear the whole school so that all the students would be safe and no more students would be shot. And then they figured out that Gun that the the kid pointed at the other kids you know. Little third graders turned out. It was a cell phone. It wasn't a gun but teachers save those lives anyway Teacher for saving all those lives on the cellphone. So matty matt you're the guy in the room for the most part there is a there is a pistol that's oddly shaped much like a cellphone like a cell phone in your pocket so that when you own managed just my cell phone bang. Is that what this was though. Obviously not but as you know as as gun companies start making things that look like cellphones. I could see this becoming a problem. More often yeah. Those are also. I think only single shots to though so would be mass shooting kind of machine so we're willing to sacrifice one third grabs logo dave about when the how about when they start making Guns that looked like a mannequin. Hand manikin finger but it shoots a single twenty two caliber around or whatever so then we have to. The kids gonna get called called on. Get the cops called on when they point at each other. I can foresee that future as grim as it may be able. Yeah well that explains that. Explains the peanut butter and jelly sandwich thin. It was bitten into the shape of a gun so in the stomach and gun jelly sandwiches then pop tart. Yeah bob tirelessly start. Yeah so. I don't know i don't know if this was covered earlier in the week But i believe it's somewhere in australia. This might be the gun. News for the week Mattie matt there are now required to register nerf guns as firearms shot up like i can pull up the my god. The derp is strong with with that particular one. Did you see this. did anyone else come across. Don't know that it's been covered this week or at all. I've been paying pretty good attention. That's not to say i. I think that's a i think. That's a very good proactive. Move because you know any blue blue-collar dude could go into his workshop and take a nerf gun and put of the nerf gun an actual firing mechanism in a metal barrel nerf gun i worked in a nerdy corporate office full of like it type of people and we would have nerf gun wars. I mean the guys had usb powered nerf missile launchers on their desk just you know. Wait for the right. Gps coordinates for their co worker to come in before they fire and it would go up in a big arc like a like.

I read and i like nor very much but at the end of a norm mystery section in the world is broken and can't be fixed in the traditional novel like mine. It's it that's not the message that is it's justice will prevail and there's that reassurance and continuity so i think that's probably it it's lovely the turning to catherine a three two. "Have linebackers trump dropping back into coverage to And underneath zones you can try to get the ball See if you can force the ball to kelsey and not necessarily let him catch it. You wanna have your linebacker undercut that ball. Try to force a turnover. So there's gotta be that surprises patrick mahomes and there's just this unfortunate for defenses. It's it's been really tough to do. He's so mentally smart so quick to see what's happening before it happens. That's why he doesn't throw any interceptions. He's just extremely smart and he rarely makes mental mistakes in. You mentioned that the bucks really have gotten their act together recently. What what's been the biggest reason for that. Is it defensively. I know that it's always a storyline and was a storyline. this year. You know the short off season and brady working with a personnel groupings offensively. But what is it in your mind. That has made things click for tampa so recently in the biggest game of the year. I think offensively even spreading the wealth. More they've been attacking us often exposing brady less to to less things that are out of control so the you're compensating for an offensive line. That's decent so you don't want to throw the ball deep too often and also brady's deep passing this year's been pretty poor so lot more short passes which we know he's great at intermediate passes rotating the receivers. I think has been smart. He likes Scotty miller ally. I think that's been surprising. Connection this season Hillerman very productive antonio brown trying to force it to him a little bit less Get chris godwin involve get him healthy. Keep him involved in an offense. Those are all keys that they've been doing on offense defensively. I think this is just maturation. I think some of it's just the pass rush playing better vida getting him back to play a little bit has been helpful. Jason pierre paul playing great the season Shaquille basement playing better as the season progressed. So i think this individually. You're looking at guys coming into their own. And that's really the biggest thing for me is needed playmakers on defense and they finally got those guys to play like playmakers. So it you know. I don't know if it's like the cova stuff young players being young. But that's been the key for them is all of a sudden they have defense. They can hold you. You know to twenty or so points. And if that's the case they have the weapons to score thirty or so we've seen score forty. I think like four or five times on the season so they have high powered offense to. Yeah and you just knew. Buffalo probably wasn't going to be able to do that right like we've seen the chiefs play from ahead play from behind. It doesn't really seem to matter. Is that game went on on sunday. He just kind of had the feeling like The chiefs were hanging around in. Buffalo's gonna pay for that. Yeah it was over a fourteen. Two nine i. It felt over which is insane right like buffalo was gifted essentially six points with a muffed punt. Obviously the quick field goal to start the game. So you know nine zero. You know you'd think okay cool like buffalo chance. Kansas city even comfortable coming from behind. It's still this might be the team. That actually overtakes. Because josh allen obviously really good playmaker at wide receiver. They've got a ton of options so it felt almost like the recipe of this could be the moment. They finally lose when they fall behind but once that she started getting chunk plays was just like oh buffalo camp coverage..

Jason pierre paul josh allen Buffalo Shaquille six points twenty patrick mahomes kelsey five four nine this year sunday chris godwin thirty antonio brown trump zero Two nine over a fourteen

Saw but miller men is a big fan of his he will demand. How catch you wanna use your exemption. On behalf of hillerman he can have a whole segment and about him on plausible deniability. But he's not gonna make our list next up. How 'bout mirror donna. The hand of god diego maradona might have been afl genius. His was a truly exceptional talent. Both sides of his character the brilliance and the controversial displayed in that quarterfinal against england in mexico. England fans will never forget or forgive the moment. He used his fist to beat. Peter shilton for the game's first goal. The hand of god maradona later called it but no one could argue with the skilled at produced his second in that game. Probably one of the best world cup goals ever but he'll be remembered for many things. Good and bad. Many believe pele and maradona with the best of all time after surgery for a bleed on the brain he was thought to be recovering before cardiac arrest ended. Remarkable life huge right. He is going to be in the discussion later as well. I did not recognize the name but really go. I just said never heard of it. And i kinda feel like oh boy. I just missed this. This is like the michael jordan of soccer him and pay layer that in the fact that is legal troubles the cocaine all that were so high profile that it transcended sports. It was on the regular news. Imagine jordan at his height just it with cocaine and everything else everything just to pieces on him. He was the biggest athlete ever in argentina until genetically. He's a glorified stuntman okay. So and if that was all he had ever done. I'd be with you but it's not. It was a weightlifter accomplished weightlifter. Right you can call me or you call jane where you re tasting late via just seem natural all. You'd recognize him if you saw him remember him he'd be on the beer commercials beyond the tonight show with johnny carson. Dean martin has a star in hollywood walk of fame and according to a compete which we know is never wrong. He played the judge in eight. Crazy nights okay. You don't have to twist my arm. I'm willing to give him a yes. Everybody else is in agreement. Oh yeah all right we will put in. Let's move into december last month of the year. We're starting with a couple of food related. The first one is bill palmer. American restaurant chore and the co founder of applebee's is that enough to get him in founding applebee's reason to be not one dollar. Margaritas is terrible. I chapel be so chili's or gto close five minutes and representations at chili's meeting my boys you have a reservation at chili's that's actually smart. I mean gets busy on wednesday night. I like applebee's so i would have said. Yes but i've been kicked out of an applebees has a whole advocaat salad. All right so we will say no to mr palmer. Poor applebee's guy music videos girls and black dresses and the red lipstick. Robert palmer S what would we have another restaurant tour here. How about frank carney. He is the co founder of. No he is the co founder of pizza hut now. Do you like pizza. Hut more than you like applebee's just don't know but i'm not going to give it to them. Yeah restaurant guys are just not big enough city. Also invent circus people carnival people all right so we will say no to the inventor of the stuff crust now this one is a little obscure but if i have to use an exemption i will. How about hugh keys. Burn english australian actor but we would know him better as a joe from mad. Max fury road. Did you got madman. And morton joe guy with the mask on his face the guy that otherwise only person getting in as the guy guitar no more. Joe was greatness. Especially when one of his wives get run over. "That revenue wasn't there. I'm just telling you that the NFL has a luxury that other sports don't have. Right now, because, like the caller prior to the break was talking about yet. You know what? You could teach him a lesson. Don't go to the games. To me. That doesn't work in the NFL because you get too much television money. That's her only works. Maybe in some NHL markets where you gotta sell tickets. I mean, you condone it in export. Where where you're reliant on like in basketball or the NHL In a normal year, there's 82 games. That's 41 home games. How did Helena or at Soldier field, they play a regular season caves? How is you not showing up? Going to put pressure on that team because I guarantee you with eight games, eight home games and a small stadium. There is 150. People behind you Wait in line to buy your tickets. If you don't go, we talk about these longstanding diehard fans who I said, take it as a a sense of pride as a feather in their cap for staying with teams that don't win Lions the bills for so many years, the Browns, you know stuff like that. They're like a word. It's rethinking things so they could prey on these people. And they're gonna get their season ticket money. You know, like it's too much of a life, you know, like people love The camera and especially after Cove it You don't think that people can't wait to go into the North Watt at Soldier Field and tailgate again? Well, that's when everybody I've been saying this one entire career were lucky enough to be in the business. Where around this all the time it's our job for the rest of the world. It's their escape from their job. Think about think about going away. It's heroin. It's an addiction. You gotta have it. It's part of our culture. It's woven. Let me ask you a question. Even if you really pissed off at your team. Yeah, but you have tickets and you have a young son who loves football are young daughter that loves football, and Tom Brady and the Bucks are coming to town, and you may hate your team. In terms of where they're at and be really disappointed in him. You're still going to watch Tom Brady and the Bucks play your favorite team, and you're hoping for the upset like I mean, you have a captive audience, and you have a limited number of opportunities to play in front of those people. I'm not telling you. It's not the responsibility of these teams to put the best possible product out there. I'm just telling you, it's very hard as a consumer to put them necessary pressure on them to enact change there. There there, you know, Like the football game day experience, there's no leverage. You think you could say going to Wrigley is cool. It's really cool, Vic, but it's It's Sort of an out liar and going to a baseball game going 81 games a year by the way to see the Steeler football games in event you see, the Steeler fan who threw a ladder through his flat screen smashed the TV on the floor. After the Steelers lost to the Browns wonder how many of those things they're staged right out of my face, But I think he's totally endeared himself to all of Pittsburgh. I think that's what happened. Broken television. Yeah, 3323774 double these days that I know what he's got a story for you that he withheld from one year old Is this about the nation's heinous? No, It's not e. We thought we broke you last Friday. We did you come out here thinking well. I tried to say you want a dozen donuts with that Danish and he could carry him without using his hands, but but I said, come up with it, but I said it like I said on the air just didn't have any reaction. And then I said Okay, That's great. But if you have a clay Penis, and it's that big, you step on it. It's a beaver tail. Then what do you do with it? And then I'm trying to figure here that did you use that line? Yeah. Can you tell me he's lying down one in your back pocket that my back pocket on the way out, But the first when I said I got no reaction, and then I'm thinking I did not use this one. But on the way out, I'm thinking Wait a minute. He's using his Penis is a helicopter. What is it like a Twizzlers. Then? I mean, what does that look like? How do you elevate? I think you should watch the show. Yeah, sit down with a couple of cold beers and watch this. What's it called Dirt Diggler of Denmark. What's a call John? What's his name? Chris John. "In the middle of the night, throwing it into the hard work. We will do what they do. You're seeing behind me is one of multiple locations that have been burning in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Do not get it twisted and think that this is some something that has not never happened before. And then this is so terrible and where we in these savages and all of that this is how this country was started. People get mad and people get sick of it. People are risking cove it to explain to this country that we're fed up most off the major movements in American history of started the grassroots level and at some point Have turned into direct conflict with American governor So remember your history before you judge your present sluggishness is thuggish nous what? Wherever it comes from politically and we should be the first to call it out. I disagree on disagree believable. Really is livable for they've excused 90 days in a row. Oh, yeah, There was violence every single day for 90 days in a row on and they excused it. They they said the exact opposite they're saying today. I mean, this is they call them revolutionaries, revolutionaries that That's what Cuomo was saying. The revolution starts like this. Yeah, it does. And that's not a good thing. It's not a good thing does anybody? Anybody on the left? That thinks they're doing the right thing and saving the principles of America. Do you even know what a revolution looks like? We're in the midst of a color revolution and the color revolution is is following exactly the pattern I outlined on the board two weeks before the election. It's following it. Exactly. It's just the other side. Now is the one that started it at the Capitol. But That's what I outlined. I outline they have a compliant media that will back up whatever story needs to be backed up for a revolution. That's what's happening and you can't play into their hands. I why am I even talking about this with you? You know this You know this? Had bring me something happy. Something funny. Uh, Wow. Uh, something good. Good. All right, All right. There's a new, uh, show a little parental warning here for this particular segment was a new show coming out. It is called No, I You're this isn't real. Read this yesterday. Like that can be. This is real home. Michael. It's called. It's about John Gillerman. John Gillerman. Hey, hey, has Dillaman means something in Danish? It is. Ah slang for Penis man. And it's a new Children's show for kids 8 to 12. She's weak before date. Sorry, 48 48 years old. Hillerman has an extraordinary Penis so extraordinary, in fact that it confirmed perform rescue operations hatch murals, hoist a flag and even steal ice cream from Children. The Danish equivalent of the BBC has a new animated series aimed at 48 Year olds about John Hillerman. The man's with the world's large longest Penis. 4 to 8 year olds overcomes hardships and challenges with his record breaking genitals. Now there's shocking those push back on this even in the in Denmark. However, it's not that kids shouldn't have a show about a very long Penis on the edge of the that women should have penises to know. That's a guy's A good guess. All right. Okay. All right. No, no. Let me give you some quotes. He's not the only one that has a Penis that can rescue people. Great, But I'm surprised that that that's actually okay. Is this really the message we want to send to Children? Now there, you could stop and have a good cover, saying, Yeah. Is this really the message? We want to send the Children while we were in the middle of a huge me to wave Is perpetuating the standard idea of a patriarchal society and normalizing locker room culture that has been used to excuse a lot of Excuse me.
