Cowboys' Dak Prescott Donates Meals To Help Feed the Homeless.
"Prescott. Okay, one more does this man have to fucking news his City for his City's football team to say, let's put a ring on it. You're our Jude. So Jack Prescott and Matthew McConaughey paid for homeless people to they basically felt homeless people during this entire Texas shitstorm ice storm that happened here 1000 meals to one of the local homeless shelter slash organizations that are feeding folks and keeping them warm. This is actually like a warming Center slash place for people to come and be fed. Yes, Jack Prescott and Matthew McConaughey joined forces and did this now I get it off. Granted I'm not going to be the asshole. It's like oh, well, if it's not public that means people don't donate not true at all. Who knows who else donated from that organization, but you think it would have leaked somehow right? I'm not going to assume nobody donated but it just doesn't look good publicly when there's other organizations locally on the sports side that are donating. Anyway, my point with that is what the fuck more does Dak Prescott home to do. I'm starting to get really fucking mad. I'm about to go up to the star or Preston Hollow or Highland Park or University Park or actual Cowboys stadium and beat it or down because your girl is fucking pissed at this point. Well, here's what sucks for you Jazz. The one thing have you seen my life since 2020. There's a guy there's a running list. There's a sticker of everything that's wrong with my life. That's at the bottom of the screen. Yeah. That is there's no debating whether or not deck is a nice guy. Clearly. We know that clearly we know he's as a fantastic human being home. A leader, but thank you. Amy. We're moving on does not does not mean that he's worth what ever he is trying to Garner from the Cowboys. They're not willing to pay him come at next in offsides. You can be a super nice guy, but it doesn't mean you're worth 4 million dollars a year. I'm unfollowing now on page on Instagram because of that comment. Anyway, we're going to move on to offsides cuz you going to disagree. Oh no. No, I think he is worth at this point. Oh, yes, she's going to sorry. I thought you are disagree. I'm sorry. I thought you meant agree my brains not working. Yes. I'm going to disagree him forty million because he's a nice guy. Yeah, that's what sports is all about. Nice guys. Finish

"Then also we've got a squad that's kinda questionable for the season that a lot of people were excited to play against yet detroit today. Sei is doing their best to resign players who you might recognize on that list to start. They have ford counteracts ford slash defender roddy green. Everyone's favourite cyrus eighty in the midfield. They have wingback kevin venegas. They also have black ariel winner for the last year in zimbabwe international Ten badge era and for the women's side resign their captain. Sarah huque so they're showing that they're trying to do the best. They can to bring back some players and because of covid a lot of these sightings need to like run through certain channels. I know that a few players. They wanna bring back before but they couldn't because they had to go back to their home countries which is unfortunate but like all these things have to be verified by the league and by the whole soccer federation which is really interesting to see because never been an issue before that is interesting. So why does this have to happen. Because i feel like. Do you know if you're going to be in the us or not been then you sign on and then you go one meet. Certain players have to give visas like i know. He used to have a decent amount of english players who had to get visas to make sure they could stay if they don't get the visa that lets them. Stay in play sports. It's got out. Sports works when it's like determining signed for in soccer which something you don't really see other sports involve america ceo. I wanted to go play in switzerland by. I need to get a swiss work visa. And if i don't get the visa applied the whole deal falls apart because i can't be in the country legally so ladies and make sure that they're ok to be here as a worker quote unquote. Some players goes great. Stephen carroll centreback irish goes great. Some players does not go great. It might be the reason why certain players have taken longer to decide to the rostered. Actually since the play is because their visas to go through all the stuff and come back as okay and sometimes it doesn't for whatever reason it is by detroit cities reloading. They're doing the best they can bring back the team. That won the nisha fall. Showcase still. don't know where the species is going to start because cove. It is very much a thing and it's done. Its best to disrupt the season as it has done with a lot of other things and we've got the wild card of the Virus variants those..

"The team in detroit. That's really grateful and everything but like in terms of who they hire and in terms of who they put charge of tabin herbs the players. They sign been a lot of really weird things. I don't think the lions can be truly great. Instill you know they get away from the ford family or one of the ford straps up and plays for the lions and realize how tough it is and then they decided you know what we should give more stuff proper things. It's opposed to just you know thinking what we wanna do trying to be cost efficient. I don't know. I could raise a ton of money for charity by putting an effigy of the ford family in the middle of ford field and letting people tackle them. Can you imagine martha ford as a slot. Receiver going across the middle. It'd be terrible. People would light her up. It would not be fair. That's why needs to be an effigy. Because i don't want anybody to get hurt. Yeah i don't see how it none of them don't get hurt even stepping on the field so there was some criticism around this deal around the idea that there is quantity over quality. Do you see that or do you see it's like hey. We just need as many tools as we can right now because we got a lot of work to do. I'm not really mad at the draft picks. I mean they're not and this draft. Which i think is a bit of a letdown. Because every year drafts are kind of a crap. Shoot some years going into this draft. Seem like they're going to be really great and some us going to the drafts can be terrible. Next year's draft could be a very great draft. They could be very it. And when it's very ex-draft you kinda wanna get your draft. Pick early on in with the lions draft picks. The rams probably being pretty good next year lower draft pick. I know that a chance to get another top ten. Pick by trading the carolina but carolina currently doesn't really have much to offer back in terms of player personnel. So while they would've gotten another nice. Pick giving stafford away. Just for solely draft picks. I don't think would have been okay. I think the reason why goff was was because his contract which was really given the year after the super bowl was terrible for his output and they needed a team that had enough capital to absorb it and thankfully the lions or a team like that. So yeah no. I honestly think the train is okay If they would have got out of it without needing did absorb goff's contract would be definitely a win. But you know. I mean it's not the worst red lines have made recently so i can live with it like we said earlier. It shows that they re truly are trying to rebuild. It's the end of an era. The start of a new one idea that i talked about turned out to be flat wrong and i fully admit that because the patriots were the only team on matthew stafford's no trade list. How what do you think about that. Yeah no a of patriots fans are like. It's because he's not that good. He's under five hundred as a quarterback you know he's twenty eight hundred five hundred zero quarterback we don't want him any ways you know. He wouldn't follow the patriot way. Do you know why he's twenty eight hundred five hundred as a quarterback because you're kirk defensive coordinator was the head coach and Ran this ship right into the rocks over and over and over again. And he doesn't want to be around him and it kind of answered the question like report. People like stafford lake patricia because he never really publicly came out and said anything. Because that's the face of a franchise..

Increasing Racism in the Time of Coronavirus
"Asian Americans have historically experienced racism and xenophobia during times of war and disease in fact acts of racism against Asian Americans due to cove in nineteen have already been taking place across the US. And the world in cities like Seattle Albuquerque New York London. I can't help. But think of Vincent Chin at this time Chin was a Chinese American man who was beaten to death by two white men Ronald Evans Michael Nitz after a bar. Fight in Highland Park Michigan in Nineteen eighty-two Eban's was a Chrysler plant supervisor in knits laid off auto worker because Chin was Asian. They blamed him and the rising Japanese auto industry for the decline of American automakers. Vincent Chin was Chinese American and he was beaten to death with a baseball bat so hard that his skull cracked open. His murderers never spent a day in jail. What happened to me is nothing compared to what happened to Vincent Chin? But what happened me is just one of an increasing number of anti-asian racist acts some of them violent taking place across the US and the world and it does not help that. The President of the United States Donald Trump is calling cove nineteen knocked by. It's given scientific name but by name. He completely made up the Chinese virus. There are some at least one went off official who use the term Kung Fu referring to the fact that this virus started in China. Is that acceptable? Is it wrong? Are you worried that having this virus the talked about as as a Chinese virus that that my order? Who certainly that? I'm not sure if the person's name but would you consider the fact that the person at the White House used the term flu. My question is that wrong conflict and do you think using the term Chinese virus that Asian Americans address that people in General. I think they probably would agree with one. Hundred percent comes from China. There's nothing not to grow. How about last question now? You might think it's true. Cove in nineteen came from China. It's a Chinese virus in their other diseases. That have been named after the places they came from like Ebola in Murs or Middle East Respiratory Syndrome. Look there's no denying we're covered nineteen came from but to call it. The Chinese virus without any context create some serious problems in America. It puts not just Chinese Americans but all Asian Americans endanger and frankly. It's way detract from the federal government's failure to take this virus seriously from the beginning. By the way in two thousand fifteen the World Health Organization actually issued best practices for the naming of new infectious diseases which discouraged the use of naming them after geographic locations. The new guidelines aimed to quote minimize negative impact on trade travel tourism or animal welfare end to quote avoid causing offense to any cultural social national regional professional or ethnic groups. Now you might think. Oh that's just ridiculous political correctness but did you know that in the nineteen eighty s aids was first called Grid Gay Related Immune deficiency this made people think aids was gay cancer. They literally called it. That which fueled discrimination against the gay community in severely stalled much needed services in efforts to search for a cure. You can listen to the episode hymies story to learn more about it might be worth mentioning that the two thousand nine h one n one influenza virus also known as swine flu was first detected in people in the United States calling it the American flu would have been

I know you're going to enjoy it. We are really privileged to have Suzanne's to Beal. She is a NIA Graham expert, and she is going to kind of tell us all about her story and then take us in the in negro little bit. Suzanne welcome the halfway there. It's really good to be with you. It's so great to talk to you. You know, was looking at your profile says you're an internationally known in the grand master, and it's not often you get to have an internationally known in the grim master, have a conversation with you. So thanks for doing share. You know, mine show all that means, but. Well, it means you've done. Done a lot of work, but I'm not too attached you time that. Yeah, I think that's cool. So I have a ton of questions for you, but why don't you just tell us first of all, who you are, what you're doing and the Mugo through your story. Okay. Well, on. I live in Dallas and way my husband and I have our own center here the micro center. We co founded life in the trinity, ministries in the Catholic church in the mid nineteen eighties when he was still Catholic priest and I was ally woman and he left the priesthood not to marry me, but to kind of a follow what he thought God was leading him to. And he's been a United Methodist pastor for the last thirty years. So you're in Dallas years, head of congregational care at Highland Park, United Methodist Church, and he and I are running life in the twenty ministries. And I travel a lot and teach a lot. And I've started riding in the last four years and I think every day at sixty seven seventy one, we get up and ask the question what is is to do today and what is the next right thing for us? To do and what would God have Steve? And frankly, he's a little more open to whatever God would want from us. I sometimes kinda wanna slowdown and hang out here. We have four children and they all live here. They're all married in. We just had our ninth grandchild. So there's a lot happening here that I would be content to be with, but I love to teach and it's still mind to do. So that's what I do. Grief will. Congratulations on that. That's that's an awesome legacy of family. They are all to really incredible human beings. We're very thankful. Well, okay. So I want to hear a little bit about your story and how you came to this point. So you're in Dallas. Now, did you grow up there? Now I grew up in the panhandle of Texas in town of five thousand people. Cloyd Ida Texas is where I'm from, and I was in the doctor child. The doc who delivered me adopted me and I was there until I was eighteen came to SMU at eighteen, and I've been mostly in Dallas since I started out my life goal was to coach basketball, and I coached on the high school level. And then I was the first women's basketball coach at somew- after title nine and I coached there for while and then had children in that changes that whole sane back. Then you know, they're one much funding and I had to do all the jobs and it was too much. Much and having children was always at both for me. And so I kinda gave myself to that first. Marriage was very complicated and ended in divorce, and I was a single mom along the way. I taught theology in Catholic high school and that kind of put me in a circle where I did more retreat work and. I am fortunate in that Joe and I had access to father, Richard roar as a mentor and a teacher, and he taught me the any him and I've been teaching for twenty five years. Yeah, the basics. I want to know about some specifics there. So did you it was your home Christian home or was a, how did you discover Jesus Christ. Christian home, and I grew up with highly

"The top of the show i kinda wanted to get into this because last night we were going to just do maybe generic kind of christmas talk but we had a ridiculous football game last night at at t stadium kinda wanted to get into it and now we don't talk a lot of high school football here on the tickets but this one seemed worth mentioning because it was one of the most ridiculous football games i have seen in quite a while and of course i speak of the highland park mandeville class five eight division one title game last night at at t stay there is one that you talk about it's a title game with jerry's grandson iaea on the winning team playing quarterback and it does make sense and as you mentioned the john stephen jones is the starting quarterback four highland park and that is of course jerry jones grandson stephen jones sauna and they win their second consecutive state title last night in a an absolute barn burner and it's actually if you're around the house and you're listening to us you can flip it on the fox sports southwest a showing a replay of it as we speak and it is getting down to the fun part of the game where there is about two and a half minutes left and i still can't rat my head around how highland park manages to pull this game out in if you're if you're watching it spoiler alert highland park does win this football game despite being down 10 points for most of the game i mean they're down ten right now there's two and a half minutes left in the fourth quarter yes and so essentially what happens is throughout the game highland park they really never can get the score tied their trailing twenty one to ten at the half and then in the second half it's just back and forth and how in park is downton they will score to pull within three and then man vo will score to make it ten and then i'll embargo score to make it three and then mandel will score to make it ten and it goes back and forth basically the entire fourth quarter like this right up until about the point that were were watching now where highland park score's a touchdown to pull within three and.
