"Eight yes omar side pods. That's correct and side-hustle eight is great. You are know why why. Because you and i are in the same room. That's right for the first time. Probably in two years were sitting across in staring at each other. I don't even know how to handle this right now like weird. I don't know whether you're at my phone on my computer. We didn't record a podcast. When i was in la. No so this verse in one person. Podcast i think since like last october before the pandemic. Wow yeah. Wow yeah that's crazy and now this this way feels weirder. Yeah definitely there's no lag to cut out. It's going to be a great dad but people will actually just notice though the harder for easier for you to edit but harder for people to listen to the people be like the energy was off because they weren't alone in a room. Yeah because yeah because we're weird. Yeah and it'd be cool if one of us got kovic because of this right that'd be nice that'd be like we waited and waited and waited and then like boom. I took a flight. And i got you. Yeah it's if anything it would be me. That got kobe. And you that has cove it is you were on a delta flight get the delta variant and then i gave it to you just now. Can i be a carrier without being infected. I thought that was. I thought they said no. I could be like as symptomatic and give you a bad version of it right. Yeah i think. That's what i that's what i remember but you know it seems like we learn new things every day so i'm done pretending i knew anything about covert what's cool all right so the test about covert yes so this is all about immunology. Diseases grow teen strand. Dna don't need to be an expert need a mask just need a flask. No i thought it would be fun to play the food did it did it did it. Did it family feud as a test. So i'm guessing what one hundred people surveyed said exactly. I was going to ask if you if you remember watching the show and royals about family feud it was might be it was like this gladiators that was like when i stayed home from school That was my shit prices. Gladiators prices right springer. I mean yeah Yeah so the way it works is the the survey one hundred people and then people sort of take turns guessing what they think other people respond. What's the most popular response. Yeah and it's kinda good. You have your finger on the pulse. I think so you get it. I like to me But since we can't play like the full version of the game. I have my family here. Yeah your family could feel two teams because you have what ten a five on five within the family i. It would be four on four. There's eight of us but if we if we were allowed to signify seagulls than yet we'd be fine. Okay so here we go. We're going to say let's try to since you're not playing all the way to get all one hundred of the responses. Will you see if you can get what sixty people have replied. Okay so i'm trying to get the number one answer number one will sometimes get you sixty. And then sometimes it'll take what the number is. Okay got it. I'll start off with an easy one. Just suit like acclimate us and get into the game. That people understand what the fuck we're talking. Yeah because there's some people have never even heard of family feud so this goes yeah assumed that i but in fact it was just. This website asked one hundred people name. Something you might eat with a hamburger and then jake buzzes in. And he's trying to guess what other people have said. Okay so i'm gonna go ahead. I'm going to. I'm going to confer with the family and we all nod and say fries and everyone is as good answer. Good answer good answer. We clap and point to the survey says fries. Sixty of the hundred people said fries so you already won that round because he got straight to sixty. You want to go through and try to name the other things you do. Sure iago pickle pickles. Ding it is the last number of responses. Only three people said pickles but it is on there so you got the number one and the number seven. Oh my god up to sixty three of the hundred respond all in between let's say coleslaw coleslaw and not on there. Really goals laws and out on their luck. It all right potato chips potato chips also a big red x potato chips not on this list. Yeah i guess fries. Encompasses all fried potato snacks. that's bizarre. Yeah in okay. A hotdog barbecue style. Hot dog is not on this three. X's out fortunately already got to sixty three enough number. Two is soup with twelve people said suit. Yeah number three salad. Nine people said salad. I'd be like coleslaw. Compasses a salad kind of. But it's its own beast to me. And then the last two are onion rings and tater tots. Yeah give it that okay. Here's here's one. That's a little more evenly split name. Something you haven't done since high school gym class so we asked one hundred people to name something. They haven't done since high school gym class. What do you got. Let's go dodgeball. Survey says dean dodgeball number to respond twenty. Three people said dodgeball. Okay so you're looking at thirty seven more responses twenty-three have said dodgeball all right..

"Cereal and amazing wifi. What else do you need in twenty twenty right here at exactly. Okay let's get to the uptown report into the down report. We got some good ones here. Let's see your thumbs. Everybody in the stream team. Let them Drop them in the youtube comments. And of course you guys. I'm going to you. Leigh and trade. See your actual thumbs here on camera. I won the twenty twenty one. Nba all star game. Jerseys leaked yesterday and well. I guess it looks like someone couldn't get a refund. Jerseys are yellow and blue with the player's number in a circle on the front and colors match the pacers because the game was originally scheduled to take place in indianapolis now games instead of course move to atlanta here because of the pandemic. But they're guest. They're going to be rolling with these now. These could be. These are not confirmed. They are leaked but pretty likely that these are maybe the jerseys. We're gonna see this sunday night down on the yellow and blue pacers like all star. Jerseys trae majorly up. Oh i actually love him. I think they look great. Like you're saying they're pacers jerseys in atlanta. But that's all right. Sometimes you wear the wrong thing somewhere. You know what. I'm saying that my sister come and visit me. I'm like hey that's my shirt. I haven't seen that shirt fifteen years. I guess it's in your closet now. That's what happened here. But if this game were played in indiana like it was meant to be originally people will be loving these look. Great very reminiscent of the eighties and nineties pacers forms and honestly if they last second decided okay. We got to make something a little bit more generic here We gotta make it more applicable to atlanta or at the very least less applicable to indiana. People would say audio look so cheap barely done so what. They're a year off. It's kind of weird that they're wearing pacers jerseys here in atlanta. But who cares. They look cool okay. Trays thumbs up or obviously seeing a lot of the comments from everybody in the team. Jay through them here. There's been a lot of downs. A lot of thumbs down xlii. But what do you think. I'm also going up just on the jerseys themselves. I find jerseys. The indiana indiana. All star game has been rescheduled to twenty twenty four right. So are they just going to run these back in two thousand twenty four to say well. These are the ones who are gonna use. Anyway that we used three years ago might be people will forget just going to bring them back. So it's just a little odd. That's why it's that. They're using them. But i don't actually mind them. I think they're fine. It's just I would've gone into different direction. A slightly different direction. Black and white. You know sort neutral like that rather than because yellow and blue. It's there's not really any how the sort of team you associate those direct to colors with. You know i mean. It's definitely not the hawks the exactly so would just but they do sort of look on my slides practice jerseys as well Okay said they look like like runners. Jerseys like like cross country course or something like that. Maybe i guess. They're saying when i look at the actual jerseys themselves if this was in indiana indianapolis i don't mind him. I i sort of like the pop of color there. So i'm sort of like thumbs up there. But i'm ultimately thumbs down with. What are you just sit on these like you said maybe save them for twenty twenty four or tweak or whatever you want to do in the future wouldn't of this been the perfect year with obviously the last minute change of venues and stuff like that and okay. They can't go to production and turn around like new jersey's why wouldn't they just go back to what we used to do in the late nineties. Where the teams wore the one team white of their own jerseys and the other team more like the color version of their own jerseys. I love those photos. I wish we didn't go away from that. And that would have been like the a perfect time to do it and everybody would have understood like we. Didn't you know i just don't feel like people are going to be buying a bunch of all star merch. Maybe i'm crazy so to me. That would have been great better but you gotta get a demont savona style. Come on that is one here. Great comment from j. j. p. p. Six one two in stream team who says they look like pennies. You wear gym class. That ever get washed those worthy colors that we had in our high school gym class blue and yellow and yep they were stinky just twenty years of high school kids wearing the same piece of nylon gets washed once every year. not great. yeah. I saw thomas with his common here. The stream team. Maybe this will be a big sellers. Sweden perfect swedish colors there. So maybe we are right. Jimmy great stuff. Let's go to the next one here. Get your son's ready everybody. Before last night's game between the bulls. And the pelicans two-time dunk. Champ zach levine. Decided to show off a little in the layup line. Check out this jaw dropping pre-game dunk. He unleashed he made that. Look way too easy. If you're just listening he sort of bounces it between his legs on the run it comes up behind him and he just easily cox back throws down with some power there like he's like he's not going into the dunk contests this sunday night. At halftime of the all star game. So he's teasing us here. Are you up or down on. Zach levine legit. Just straight up teasing us with. I still got some tricks. You won't be seeing. This is done kind of sums up. Because because zach levine is basically signed to the dunk. Is there someone do this. Because this is an incredible dunk. I'm letting you do it. And if they don't. I think we're gonna see that rhys wrestling gif of that guy who just charges out onto the Into the ring. You know it happens all the time that if someone doesn't do it zacks going to be in the building. He's going to be like all right. I'm just going to take over this dunk contest. And do it and see if i can win even though it wasn't really in its iraq. That's what i think he was doing for sending a little message trying to get people excited about it and trying to say to one of these guys he's a free dunk. That's awesome and if you don't i'm gonna come out there and just barrasso you guys but i mean we talked about it yesterday. Someone things we haven't seen. I'd never seen that one before. He said all the dogs were done He's i mean the fact that he doesn't even use his left hand at any point they're just Just all so damn a so casual so smooth cool. I mean this go ahead. An he overplay it too didn't he and he hasn't asked any of that. Jump at all. So maybe we will see him. Just a tear onto the stage there. And say i'm just going to throw down some donkey roaming this thing. Trae or thumbs up thumbs down not on the dunk on teasing us. Okay you're thumbs up yeah. This is a warning in tune in for the third quarter. Because that's when the best dunks are gonna happen. This is light worked for exaclty. And people say i have never seen this before. Zach levine. Did this before as mentioned in what you need to know. This was in zach. Levine's tease video. Last year. when he wasn't chosen as an all star selection going between the legs. With just the right hand for the dunk. The angle is way better on this one. The slow mo is amazing as mellow the team. A beautiful dunker of the basketball. But if you like this zach levine's got an even deeper bag. Best score in the league. Best dunker in the league. The balls are back saw. Look it hurt my heart a little. Bit zach levine. Doing this in the layup line. He's obviously not going. The com zion williamson as we talked about the huge throwdown. Maybe his best poster of the season or of his young career on gaffer bus night. He's not going in miles. Bridges had another monster oop last night that he finished. He's not going in it. Miles brown tweeted that zion and levin showing.

"Okay, well, The other thing was is law enforcement. He He doesn't have any buddy on his side. Long force. Hey, asked. Trump asked that question by never answered it. Yeah, And I think that's one is a career politician and the other one is law enforcement. And, uh, I think that's on. Also Joe's disrespect. I mean, He came off with clenched teeth, because I only have a radio and I only listen to years of talk radio first. Thank you, John for Mei. Thank you, sir. And so his mouth was clinched, trying to hold his dentures and why he was charred. Thank you. You know what I would have loved to see here. I'll tell you what I love to see Zach and Penn Valley. I would have loved to see them come out and have to shake hands. That's what I would have loved to seen because they did test each other so badly that I would just love to have seen them have to shake hands. Zach, Welcome to the show. Hey, Pat. I know it's been a while. I got to say I enjoyed it. It was like watching the high school gym class fight, right? Kinda wass. Yes, it was To be honest, Trump had to go on the offensive right away because he knew it. And I know that Chris Wallace worked for Fox. But the same time you were going to have to go on the offensive because what does have kind of a Reputation as a moderator, and it seemed like he was cutting off trump more than Biden. But I could be, you know, a little biased on the issue, but bite me came across very much. I don't know if you know the video game character. He came across a Dutch, Evangeline. I gotta play and I don't know what it is, but I got to play him. He came across this or what? It's a video game character's name, Duck, and he always has a plan never works. Dutch always has a plan. I wish I knew what that was because it's funny, and I don't even know what Dutch is, but that's funny. Well, I did notice that as well. Zack. You made me laugh. I appreciate you calling in tonight. Aggressive and a day should be the candidate of choice, but I do I do notice that Donald He's been documented as a liar. He is a liar. He still lying and the population of people this time and having him and hey needs we need. Anybody else would do way would do better than having Donald OK, ethical I mean everything out there. You know, the media say that the media is against media is not against the media's telling the truth, the evidence that they find out about him he tried to suppress it. You know, and people thought of double talk and switch up and not let the people get to the truth. But the truth will come out throughout. Just just out of curiosity because I respect all opinions on this show, Larry Fearless and I respect all opinions and Then I have a follow up question or questions and you and what? "Is I just feel like you gain so much control of yourself of your life in so much. Power on self understanding. And I feel like football tracked into. Give me that football game that for sure. That so interesting. And, and as we're talking about going through high school. What were you loving academically while while you are falling in love with sports? was there a subject that was your favorite or teacher? Who really stands out that you think about from High School Gym Class. Gym Classes. My favorites so my school was a really good school. I went to Palatine high school in every year. That was there they won the blue. Ribbon Excellence Award which essentially goes to one of the top one hundred high schools in the United States of America. What made us so great really wasn't our athletics. It was the academic program. It was a teacher. Is there it was the counselor's it was you know we had a choice? Your Freshman and Sophomore Year you do your regular. You know regular assignments, but then your junior senior. You actually have a choice of if you WanNa, go language, or if you WanNa go art in so what I chose was arts so I got to do class I have drama I got to do drawing a painting. I got to do poetry. I have to do a whole bunch of different classes in the arts. You know in so if you would win language you. Would you people who leave my high school? They leave knowing French obviously English than they leave with. Spanish is well because you French and Spanish for your junior and senior year, so you leave there with two languages so the summer of Sophomore Year. They asked me what you WanNa do, do you WANNA do? You know the language. Do you want to do? Arts like are while I'm artistic person the arts, so you get these acting classes, you speech classes drawing like my favorite teacher. Her name is misleading and she used to let me draw. I had her first period, and it was so cool because you can just come in. There is the only classical headphones so he could wear your headphones. Listen to music, and you just draw for an hour. Just draw. You have a professional art teacher there. She's teaching you and. As long as you tried your best, you pass, she's not. She's not gonNA. Knock your art because it doesn't fit into her. Perspective of what art is supposed to be? She was so open to everyone art. She'll give us the guidelines. You say. Hey, for example I remember. We had to do a perspective photo so perspective photo we see all the time is when you see like a train track or you see like a freeway street, you see maybe a buildings buildings on the right side in the kind of all leads so what's called a vanishing point? And I mean to this day. I've never forgotten that because she was such a good teacher. So literally you start those photos by drawing your vantage point the new jaw, your horizon, and then you build your city in built the sky and. Is. It was an amazing experience to be taking art class. You know so I remember her class, and then I had another teacher..

"Best years of your life is lying. You know miserable now. You know it's sort of like if you just got out of prison and you can say well. Prison was the happiest years of my life. Got A regular meal. I got regular sex. I enjoyed a lot of my high school experience. A lot of it was absolutely miserable. I think there's a sort of Maybe not as much but certainly when I was in high school it was like you better enjoy this because you know this means something. Prom is important. Great years you should go to the homecoming game. That's important and it's all bullshit and the reality is that this accord not which is a lot of gay people whether people in general and therefore last on our list the queen of all horror films for the for the gays. And I I I would say straight people to is the the masterpiece of Stephen King. Carrie yes starring. Of course CISSY SPACEX with his wonderful. These are pillows Momma. They're not breath Halos. So what's the plot of her mom? Her Lori calls them dirty pillows dirty dirty pillow. Brass Momma breasts not called breasts says he's basic as Kerry White. Who's a shy? Outcast has her first period when showering after a high school gym class distress. Carrie runs into locker room. Pleading the her fellow classmates for help instead of helping the other girls laugh and ridicule her by pelting her with tampons. Screaming up plug plug it up. Plug Ed then. Later the gym teacher Miss Collins played by Betty Buckley Russia's then to stop the commotion after Consoling and Questioning Her Miss Collins realizes that Kerry is unaware of the concept of menstruation and of course later on in the film we discovered that. She's not only discovering that she's becoming a woman but also that she has telecom attic powers the ability to move matter with by will by sheer will. What's so funny is like as you're reading the description. I just WANNA start screaming because I'm so excited clock what it'd be like God. She's the outcast of school in the plot. Is They they they? She gets group of girls in trouble so they're going to get revenge on her and have one of the girls boyfriends. Invite her to the PROM. Where they're gonNA throw pig dot play pig's blood on her so and there's this wonderful scenes where they actually like. Kill the pig to actually get the blood format like you probably could go to a Korean grocery store and buy pig blood when you really think about that movie. Isn't it. So fucking over the top and genius I mean from or the story you know Stephen King story like he did not hold back at all. No I think also the sequence of the events the way that Kerry is dealing with her fundamentalist mother and the way that she sort of like turns a table on her and pins or mother to the wall with knives almost crucify almost. Who's the whole thing? Having the Tele Kinetic powers being the loners the outcasts. It's a total metaphor for Queer. Nece the revenge you know. She takes on everyone who tortured her. Is so satisfying. You know. You're just waiting for that moment. And then yeah the abusive over the top religious judgmental mother. You know. Yeah it's gets it. You know the worst but to me. It's this is like that game mouse trap all the like elements sort of build up to this visually fascinating moment. Where where Sissy SPACEX is standing covered in pigs blood? The skinny freckled faced redhead girl in tears with blood all over her and a bouquet of roses and her Tiara What is it there? Her Prom Queen Crown and she's standing on the stage and she's just like ready to kick some noise they make until she moves her head. She was ahead of the people. You know she almost didn't get that role either. I guess she was up for a commercial and it was at the same time as this film was being made and the guy said well you know what I do? Whatever it is you want he no. He actually told her go. Go try out for the commercial. And she said you know what I'm GonNA show you. And she came into the part. But I know it's weird though too is like what are you saying that she she was told by. The commercial was torn shoes. You know it was Brian Palmer. Wasn't it the director was? The daughter told her to audition for the commercial. Because he wasn't very thrilled about having it was. I was GonNa Challenge her. So that was. If you really want it you know do it. Well I mean all these people who direct these movies and dealing with these actors and actresses because some of them especially when they're have careers behind them they can be a little hard handling challenging to like. Do you think that this has had much effect on the American psyche especially with like things like Columbine or that University of Virginia are attack? The the real life of real people aren't class you know it's so funny. It's like you know that that How was mass murderer? Funny interesting to look at like that there. There are these movies that are pre columbine that are post Columbine. And it's kind of like that moment where where everything shifted when when Columbine happened because Kerry Kerry and even a movie like Heather's We're we're we're murder and mayhem and in all this crazy shit is taking place in a high school. Setting seemed fantastic. It was a sort of a fantasy and then and then columbine happened and it was there there. You know that will forever be changed you. You can't make like even the movie. I'm making now. There's literal references to Columbine in my movie because it's impossible to avoid it and so you're working on a film right now yes I am and And tell us what's happening with your film. It does have a title first of all of yet a working title. The title has gone through a lot of History so it was originally called Grind House and I made a short film called Grind House but I had to change the title when The Tarantino Rodriguez film came out so it was named this and that and this and that but we finalize the title it's registered and it's now all about evil is the name of the movie that is good. I was GONNA suggest that you have a working title and call it a boy's life. I I think that's been so. Do you have an evil Harrington in the role in a rural Yeah definitely I mean. I think that you know the lead antagonists in the film. That's sort of the The Freddie Krueger of the movie is a female and the killer. She is the killer and she's out. She's she's really seeking out stardom in a big big way and it's hungry for fame and wants to prove to the world that she has star quality even if it means in order to do that that she needs to You know murder people along the way so so so. It has sort of a parallel with the film. All about eve or show I mean you know I. I have to be honest. I didn't even think about the movie all about Eve while I was writing it. It wasn't until it was all done and because it's a movie about a female of women making movies and she is really obsessed with The great works of literature so all of her movies all of her short films or snuff films that she's making even though they're you know she doesn't call them. Snuff films. Are things like a tale of two severed titties or laughter? I'm slasher and the rise of taking literature and transforming it so when I was thinking the title for the movie It really came down to like. What would she call this movie? Was this kind of like a tribute to also to your friend. John Waters in the sense that I see so be demented had similar quality. Get now I'll say this There're there are lots of Omaha ges to John and the fact that I love him in the movie but It's not so much. It's not as much like ceaselessly demented as you might think just from hearing it She's clueless kind of about what she's doing. Where it's he was a real film buff and a film lover and new you know they. They knew they were making underground films. I would say that it's more in the spirit of female trouble wonderful where it's it's a desire or quest for infamy. That is so strong. I would say that it parallels.

"Turns into a one of the evil dead and so in a battle with her he Saw Her head with a chainsaw when she comes back though she comes back later and then she's dancing out in the moonlight and he's watching and he was like what's going What and then all of a sudden she takes off her head and starts bouncing it around and stuff like that like. It's so funny. Dances around with her little corpse body. A Ballerina so how does how does the movie? No shall we give it away? I guess well you know it's funny. The evil dead two is almost. It's less of a sequel and almost kind of a remake of the evil dead. So you know I. It's not so much a sequel in that sense however there's a film called army of darkness does pick up where the evil dead two leaves off so in a sense the evil dead two in in this kind of Yeah we don't want to give it away because it's it's it's really fabulous and just basically opens a whole new chapter or a new movie. Yeah okay so moving on straight jacket with Giancarlo. I've never seen it Joan Crawford's horror movie. Well you could argue that all of Joan Crawford's movies are horror films real. Why is this? "Don't you know maybe having competed or done anything athletic since High School Gym Class? That's a population that really. I have no idea how to get to. I have no idea so I'm not. I'm not working with that population I used to. I just don't do that anymore. Because they're frustrated non frustrated but so. I want to work with people who WANNA get active. Were halfway. We've got two thirds of the desire? Peace Out of the way right there and then it's a quick move to get an arrest but to get the recipe that desire people have to innately get that the awareness of their psychological state their conscious as much of their subconscious. That they can get a feeling for that makes a difference for how they're going to get out of this and if they that and then if they get that the awareness and they all and they have a goal that they wanna get back on the bike for example. You got the desire and that person getting better. There's nothing gonNA stop that person but it's always good when you've got somebody that's actively looking for because the day the ones that are inclined to to be willing to listen and as you said is unless the person's willing to change unless ladies Willing to go through the process and actually take the first step in Digging into you. Say Some of the The the brain and realizing that this is a is a change. They can't make their own life and actually sometimes it's it can be quite difficult because all the people can actually influence whether or not they they view on whether they should do it is. It is something that's achievable and that that can sometimes also make things very difficult for people want to change but you know other people tend to have a bit of an impact on them but right right enter. The died the stronger the desire that easy. It is for them to get to that next step. In salts down that road road to recovery insurance when we set a goal you touched earlier on communication between the conscious and the sub-conscious aspect of being a human being that connection. There's visualize almost like a little trap door that connects down to the sub-conscious. And if you can get your conscious desire and your subconscious to be on to play Nice on the same team It's inevitable that you're going to get that result for example. If you set a goal all I need. I want to get a new car and I want to snazzy Sports car let's call it apportioned Porsche or something like that. I WANNA get a portion and so as a trap door for your conscious mind conscious desire to have a porsche and you realize that if you get the conscious in the sub-conscious on the same team you're going to reach your goals quicker than the trap door going into the subconscious might be on your computer having a picture of a Porsche in the exact color that you want and the exact model that you want and that would be a very simple example of the trap door to connect your conscious and your sub conscious. People sometimes do this. Unwittingly yeah in some people in the know. Do it very purposeful so part of what I do in my course is i. We create little trap doors from the conscious to the sub-conscious so they can visualize a healthier future and that helps them give themselves permission and desire to get that result and then they walk into the science of it. Yeah I just WanNa touch on that a bit more because you mentioned just before we start to the coal. That's when you someting again. In Two thousand night you had pictures of some of the other climbers that made its or some of the other team members On the climbs had made it didn't make it and so that's you'll example of actually using visualization. But also you could say your motivation of examples of clear zones. How to do that is. Is that a good way of actually using that that process. Who really is if people have a model? Now I tell my story. I had chronic pain. I got better. I have this patient that did this patient so testimonials help people to get it. People have to have a real world example of someone with a similar situation that has overcome it. That was what I did in an Everest. I had those pictures up because they were real world examples. I knew those stories. I knew those people some made it. Some didn't and that helped me to see that too. Have the desire and I have the permission and have the resources to do this. Particular thing to get that goal and clients need that too. We're getting out of pain. Yeah creates a belief system in themselves that this is achievable and right. Yeah sometimes you just need some somebody that you can relate to. That can say yes iron. I can relate to you on know your story I can. I can. I can see it. I can feel it can it? It makes sense to me which means it gives them confidence to actually get to the next step. So yeah it's a really powerful story so with my program. I constantly have to pare down. Simplify it every day. That's what I spent the whole morning around that but it's not because it's too there's too. You've gotTA simplify because this is new stuff for most people they get it on one level but if it's not simplified really down to the brass like three steps this three steps that three stops then it's just too much in their overwhelmed and over wellm lead to non-compliance. Yeah it's it's too much for somebody to take in. It's the easiest things not to do anything. Exactly and then but the. There's no there's no there's no goodness in not investing in yourself. There's no. There's no possibility that that's going to be a good thing at all so We need to inspire people to do better into change. Mariner earned here to do that to my partner to thank you very much. Yotam are really appreciated. And how can people find out more about what it is? You do a obviously al Qaeda. "Candle to the women around me being surrounded by some of the most beautiful confident talented women on campus usually left me, wishing I could be one of them instead of having to be me if I were team captain in high school gym class fairly certain I would have picked myself last for my own team. They say we are critics, but I was my own worst enemy. I criticized everything about myself. My clothes might appearance my personality, any imperfection might mean little thoughts could find I'd speak up in a conversation, and then once my words were out the diatribe would begin. Why did you say that ask myself, you are so embarrassing that was so dumb? But I wasn't ready to give up yet. I was convinced that with enough polish duct tape in hard work. I could become the kind of person. I was proud of I was sure my life could feel as fulfilling on the inside as it looked on the outside that night was another chance to start over as Caroline tease in sprayed shape, my hair. I tried to distract myself I looked around her room books and magazines photos, including were strewn everywhere. Her life seems so fun to me, so wild untamed in full of people who loved her, her friendship seem to seep into every nook and cranny exploding with color in life in spilling onto the floor even though we are in the same sorority my friendships, didn't feel like that. I thought that being in a sorority living in a house full of best friends in didn't some ways, but it didn't mean best friends, not the kind of hope to find anyway, to me, best friendship were safe to leave the room without knowing people were gonna talk about, you were gone in that you are free to be yourself without being criticized or made fun of I had friends certainly, but I felt frantic inside in my friend group trying to manage their opinions of meat in scrambling not to be left behind. I bounced Caroline's chair my bare he'll swinging hard against metal legs. I was like a sprinter, at the starting line rigid ready to bolt the second she gave my hair one last spritz of her spray pre gaming getting drunk before the party waits for no woman. I was in desperate need of some liquid courage. My eyes wandered down her huge. Mirror, taking in the photos and clippings in ticket stubs taped, along the side, and just as I was about to look away is landed on a quote, it was in the top, right? Hand corner of the mirror and I couldn't believe I'd missed it before. It was written in lipstick in round. Perfect letters is said, look at the nation's and watch and be utterly amazed for I'm going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if you were told in that instant the world screech to a halt my is aimed in on the words in everything else, faded away, quiet fuzzy in the background by insights, had gone cold some how warm all at the same time that was it. That was the quote, I wanted to define my life. I squeezed my eyes. Shut tight trying to picture a life. That was so good. I wouldn't believe it, even if I'd been told I couldn't picture it, but I wanted to keep trying what is that from, I demanded looking up at the quote, the bible, Carolinians erred? The David Guetta disaster. Steph, leaving one of my roommates called a few minutes later from down the hall, I scooped up my coat and he owes from Caroline's bed thanked her with a quick hug, and the dash down the stairs, my friends, and I slipped in slid our way up the hill towards the goose a bar near campus where the buses were waiting. The weather hadn't managed muscles way at pass zero in our feet were freezing in our strategies to us. The goods was always our barb choice. The drinks were cheap and it was within stumbling distance from our house, regardless of where our misadventures of the night, took us, we always found a way back to the goose the warm bar was arrested from the singing mountain air. I was so glad to be out of the uncharacteristically depressing Colorado, weather, although it reflected my mood, perfectly lately, I began wondering if I was depressed a label that it always frightened me with its severity. I felt listless in heavy nothing exciting. I cried more than wanted to admit to anybody. My life looked great from the outside. I made sure have bad I was journalism major at.

"You know, have I I'm not quite sure upwards of like two hundred thousand girls playing and in the US, I think it was ten thousand when I started six thousand when I started. I can't quite remember, you know, there was I was getting so many emails from girls and parents were saying we love like why can't we play? So I started this program. You know that? Empowered girls at their own high schools to pitch the idea of starting a girls five football program at the varsity level to their athletic director. And in one year, we went from I think six thousand thirty thousand girls playing five football. And that that's not you know, that's not necessarily to speak to the the business model of the program. It's more so to speak with football. If you build it all the girls will come and we saw that time and time again of girls that petition and, you know, put a petition out to their school and hundreds of girls were signing up for flag football because they just and we we did a lot of field research about it in every girl. We spoke to said most girls, we spoke to said football is just the most fun to me. Right. It's a team sport. Everyone gets to touch the ball. There's there's not a lot of waiting around not necessarily a spotlight on you in high school. You know, when you're up to bat and softball, it's it could be intimidating for some girls. You know, it's just that ultimate team sport. And you know, I was just really passionate about offering opportunity young girls in this country that I was afforded when I was growing up. Yeah. I mean, I remember playing a couple of times in in high school gym class. And then we were supposed to have our one powder puff game. That I don't know if you've heard about that. Yeah. Yeah. Both years when I was getting ready to absolutely dominate the game got cancelled because of the trash talking that went on from the seniors and juniors to each other involving you know, what sex acts various people had done and posting and all ends we ever played..

"Deep dive deep tidy, tidy Taibbi. All right. Well, in honor of today's mean girls episode, we wanted to put on our oversized pink polos shave. Our mom's chest hair load up on our Cal teen bars in hop into our time machines, all the way back to two thousand four. So we can relive so my personal highschool traumas and discuss all the reasons why high school is the worst, which of course it is unless you're a fucking football coach who lives in his garage because his wife won't let him sleep in the same room or any more seriously do not trust any person who says high school was the best time of their lives. One of my high school English teachers on Iran nuclear told us that these would be the best years of our lives. And I was like, what happened in the fucking fifty years of your life? That was so horrible that you dare tell us that she also married a former student. So I think she's a little stuck in the past and she was mean to me, so fuck her also berry wants you to know that she went to the high school that mean girls was based on in the show is called north shore high school, but it's based on neutral high school, which is where I went and it was fine. If you don't know, new trailer is a rich Ashfaq in school. Chicago is the most. Here's the second worst anyway. So let's get stuck in the past and jump at fourteen years to win. I started high school and if you're trying to do the math, let me pull out my fuck and math leads skills because I was in high school from two thousand four to two thousand eight. I am twenty eight years old. I know. I look like I'm a forty year old weatherman. But I'm a delicate cherub, so please respect my youth. Let's get into it. Let's talk about the worst things about the ING in high school. Let's just start with the worst high school gym class. It's just a thinly veiled ISIS training. Yes, I understand that like America as a whole could probably use a bit of a fitness lesson, but like should we really be forcing teenagers who are already at their most disgusting? Just like hygienically speaking. Should we really be forcing them into exercise in the middle of the day with no access to showers or soap. Technically we had showers, but like I don't think we'll usually we were allowed to use them. We were allowed to, but you didn't have time. They don't give you enough time to take a full shower afterwards. Yeah, I always saw the showers. I just assumed like in my fantasy is that that was for like the football team. Literally, your high school years are when your body odor glands are at their most pungent just like pumping out though smells and we're like, sure, sure. Go ahead. Go get filthy. It's fine because here's a raggedy cloth that you can wear while you do it. It'll just soak up all your choices. Jim close, my high school colors were Brown and orange. Oh God. Because yeah, we, we were founded in the seventies. Burt Reynolds Hugues was the only color palette. The public knew. So our Jim uniforms were disgusting..
