Fentanyl has led to a number of overdoses in local schools, so some prince George's county students now are taking things into their own hands, trying to spread the word about its danger. Young kids are finding themselves facing new challenges, and this most recent one can be deadly. What's been going on is kind of scary. Students at Charles Herbert flowers middle school recently came together to make a PSA warning their peers about fentanyl and fatal drug overdoses. The drug that stops you from breathing and listening sort of kind of hit the entire county by storm. Ayama a winner is a junior. I got a little bit worried. So he spoke out. When you're driving locally on the beltway and you see upcoming traffic, who are you blaming for that? Is it a person with a Maryland license plate? The car with maybe a Virginia license plate, or a D.C. resident. Washington Post transportation reporter Michael Lara says this Saturday morning a new post Shah school poll has an answer for that and it's nothing to do with what you're actually seeing. What's most interesting about it, I think, is it kind of depends where you where you are and that's where you get your answers. So half of those pulled in Maryland in the Maryland suburbs blame D.C. drivers the most, then you have four in ten northern virginians will blame suburban marylanders and then D.C. residents sort of spread the blame all around. The polls suggest that EC area favors Northern Virginia for its shopping options in residential life. Saturday morning, it is April 8th, good morning. Welcome into WTO peak ledger with us at four O

It prevents MPD from hiring officers who committed serious misconduct and other jurisdictions, requires deescalation training for officers to protect themselves and others. The committee plans to vote on a disapproval resolution that seeks to block that D.C. policing Bill, Congress recently blocked a D.C. criminal code that would have lightened some penalties. Reporting live on Capitol Hill, Mitchell Miller, WTO, news. Staying on the hill, the Senate has now voted to repeal the decades old congressional measure that greenlighted the 2003 invasion of Iraq. If approved by the House, the measure would end more than 20 years of authorization for U.S. presidents to use force in that country and return those war powers to Congress. The Iraq War ended years ago and repeal is not expected to affect any current troop deployments, the bipartisan legislation authored by Virginia Democrat Tim kaine would also repeal the 1991 measure that sanctioned the U.S. led Gulf War. That news comes as now two groups have reportedly submitted $6 billion bids to buy the team from Dan Snyder. Since I've left in 2015, it's just been one thing after another. Meantime, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says findings of an investigation into the commanders will be released by the league regardless of when the team is sold. Well, we made that commitment. Last February, we made a commitment publicly made it in front of Congress to make it to our club. So the commanders were very clear that the funding should be made public. So we're going to continue on that, of course. That is Goodell speaking yesterday, the investigation was launched last year following accusations that owner Dan Snyder and the commander's fostered a toxic work environment. Happening today, a U.S. House panel will examine D.C.'s plans for policing and crime fighting, as Republicans step up their scrutiny of the district, WTO's Mitchell Miller has more today on the hill. The chair of the House oversight committee, James comer, which is conducting the hearing, says lawmakers have a responsibility to make sure people are safe in the nation's capital. Ignoring the high rates of criminality in the district and doubling down on legacy for society's violent criminals is a dereliction of duty. Comer made the comment after Congress blocked D.C.'s new criminal code. Now Republicans are looking to prevent a D.C. policing Bill from going into effect. Supporters say it would make police responses more transparent, but the police union opposes it. Topside outer loop, you'll slow from 95 to Georgia avenue, then again, we've got some slowing near river road as you head down toward the legion bridge. We're trying to clear out south of town on the inner loop, we're still a little bit heavy around two ten, headed down toward the Wilson bridge. There have been reports of Iraq on 95 north end of near one 75, crash had been south on the Baltimore Washington Parkway after one 98. Last heard it had been blocking the left lane. In college park without a lot of delay, southbound route one down to university boulevard, there was an earlier record of been blocking the right lane. 50 going west toward the beltway that earlier wreck I think completely cleared from the right shoulder. You may be under direction, there was a crash on two O two at White House road, and we'd had an earlier crash along eastbound four 50 west street after generals highway in Annapolis. Now you will find the beltway slows, topside outer loop just after 95 to Georgia avenue. You'll find a delay in Virginia though, coming out of the Springfield interchange, outer loop toward van dorn, inner loop going into inn and Dale, then again, just a little congested through Tyson's toward mcclain. The closure remains a route one down between Boswell avenue and Lockheed boulevard, from yesterday's police activity that is still going on. 28 in chantilly north between Braddock road and westfield's boulevard there was a crash. Look at delays on three 95 in the Springfield interchange north, headed to king street, then you'll slow again up near The Pentagon to cross the inbound 14th, delays building on the outer loop, maybe riding into a little bit of a sun glare possibly on the outer loop as you leave telegraph road toward route one, slowing in Maryland on the beltway inner loop. That's after branch avenue toward the Wilson bridge, top side outer loop will be delayed from 95 to Georgia avenue then briefly in the big curve where you merge with everybody coming off the southbound spur. "Adnan syed had served more than two decades in prison, then was set free last year after a decision that the case against him was flawed. Now a Maryland appeals court has reinstated the first degree murder conviction against sayed. It was how the evidence was turned over during the 2000 trial and possible new evidence that may have changed the outcome of the case, which led to a Baltimore judge freeing sigh at last October. Now after an appeal to a Maryland appeals court by the brother of Heyman Lee, the woman's side is accused of killing the conviction stands again. This happened because two of the judges on the three judge panel believed Lee's brother should have had more time to attend the hearing during which side was freed. The brother claimed he only had one day notice which forced him to watch virtually. David Sanford and attorney representing the brother young Lee says he's delighted the court of Greece with his client and Erica suter side's attorney on the other hand says there's no basis for re traumatizing adnan by returning him to the status of a convicted felon. ESPN reports Beale as being investigated by police following an altercation with some fans in Orlando last week. Now, police reports show somebody from the stands, shouted the F word at Beale, while he was leaving the court after the whiz lost to the Orlando Magic. Police say Beale then walked toward the fans, swatted his hand at one of them, knocking the man's hat off his head, who were learning that bill could be charged with battery, though, at last report, no charges had been filed. Turning next to the Washington commanders, Dan Snyder's departure from the NFL, appears to be moving closer to reality. A group led by Josh Harris and Mitchell rails, which also includes Magic Johnson, by the way, and another group, led by a Canadian billionaire, have both turned over $6 billion bids for the commanders. Three quarters of the owners would need to approve the sale, a vote could take place at the league meetings in May in Minnesota if Snyder accepts an offer soon, though it's more likely the process would take longer to finalize. With so many years with Dan Snyder owning that team, it's no secret Washington's football team has lost fans over the year. Over the years, I should say, a new Washington Post poll finds the commanders are no longer our region's most popular sports team. Polling director Scott Clement at the post was on with WTO earlier. So when we conducted a poll in 2010, 31% of D.C. area residents said the red skin to that point were their favorite local sports team. The next team down was 13% for the capitals. This most recent poll in February found that it had fallen to 15% for the commanders. Now roughly even with the nationals at 16%, they have doubled the share who say that their favorite sports team. Some other teams have also gained a little bit, but the biggest change really is the drop in the commander's popularity. The poll found that if Snyder were to sell, it could immediately boost the commander's popularity. And influential Virginia advocacy group set up to battle the influence of Dominion Energy at the state capitol in Richmond, is rolling out a slate of more than 50 endorsements for this year's election cycle.
