"I go cast and everybody knows this cast. But it's so confusing. Okay so i go to arizona christian university school ship lessons me. I finally been able to go on campus instead of online. I mean it really great online but in person is something different But one of my things is. I have a lot of friends who are not in college in always asked me about well. What if we have free college. So it'd be so much easier and i sit there and i'm like yeah. It would be so much easier. But that's not how it works so i just wanna know what's best response to save to them. Is i personally. Just all of my responses don't go through Like simple responds unlikely. Meal type of these are people not in college. Okay so y- you think college is expensive. Now just wait so how expensive it is when it's free so our of part of the entire kind of modern college projects is going to try to massively subsidize higher education and make it free for the consumer very expensive for the taxpayer and something to say though that your friends. Which is that every intervention that we've made on behalf to make college better or cheaper has made college more expensive and actually worth less than ever before every single intervention a college degrees to mean something in our country. It doesn't mean anything anymore. In fact it's like oh now you get your masters gotta go your doctrine or you gotta go. Get your specialized certificate. You wanna know you want to know who like the richest people in scottsdale are the plumbers. They are doing unbelievable as anyone tried to get a plumber. Recently i am not kidding. They gotta look into price-gouging type stuff into these like. Yeah you know okay one switch. It'll be six hundred fifty dollars and they could totally chart they having a down payment. They like the swipe your credit card as soon as they show up and it's like they got the hosting made. I met this plumber great and never went to college. Only he's making like four hundred thousand dollars a year in this whole plumbing industry and he's like. Oh yeah it's like. I go to these big people's homes and he's like they're telling me about their kids going to asu. And all this. And i'm like why don't they wanna be plumber. And they tell me oh yeah. We don't want our kids to be palmer's and he's like okay. Sure that'll be three thousand dollars for your new johnson rod. It's like whatever that is and so the point. That's that's that's one way to look. The other thing is this is like higher. Education is totally gone out of control. And you should try to persuade your friends like look. You want things to be better and cost less rice. You want less government intervention to try to get those things trying to make something. Free doesn't make it better and it doesn't make it actually costs less than jack. Free things are expensive. Think about it. Charlie just said it most most most free thing ever provided it was the most expensive is jesus blood on the cross right. Think of that but when what when man goes when man tries to do that it never works. Someone has to pay and then the saddest thing of all is for someone to want something for free that tells you that the people that you're talking to their character their motivation if any they are so not being the human that they're supposed to be and for them to say well. It wouldn't be was free if it was free. You have no motivation to do any character quality and if you play that out you would eventually have doctors who don't know which end to work on. You have no seriously you have people who are called astronauts but they don't know exactly what to do about that it would be catastrophic but again it's sad when somebody actually thinks that free that it's good. It's a disaster in our build on this project this is a biblical principle things that matter and things. You're going to foul. You take your effort your commitment and your time and your sacrifice your most precious relationships are not just something you get for free. Walk no that takes time and commitment churches that are built. This was not built overnight. It takes time and sacrifice commitments. Those things wouldn't you want a society organized around that way you would think that would be rationed but thank you for being your arizona. Christian university is a great school. So thank you for being here tonight. Every elected official belief in god and believed in. Jesus christ be amazing. Would be amazing. Hainan is marked omar stroman. I have a question for you. Do you know what a black wrote. Pastor is because you certainly sound like you know i i. I knew i the fact that i was born. Two hundred sixteen years too late. And i have a black robe that saint that hangs i my office behind the sanctuary wall. And there's a sign on it. That says that i wear in case of tyranny. I have is fine. I put on his. Yeah exactly. it's where skillman cross on it says where in case of tyranny. And when something really gets me. I will put that robot and do a sunday service with the black robot. Because i know exactly who reggie. And i'll see comes out and the whole thing and he canceled. Its it drives newsweek crazy. By the way whenever. I do it at a newsweek story so i should should slanted on with this young ever closed. Regine black robe regiment was the the men that were responsible for the american revolution. Who who said that. Our founding fathers said so the black robe regiment were pastors from about sixteen. Technically sixteen o five with pastor. Hunts five can you imagine that but more predominantly passengers from about from about seventeen. Twenty two about seventeen. Seventy black robe regimens whereby they preached the scriptures. Those sit in the congregations heard about liberty. Some guy by the name of sam adams said you.

"Hey you gotta go fight for our military that are on the verge of getting dishonorably discharged right now and so jack. You're dealing with this and talk about the religious exemption side. How many religious exemption letter of you son yeah. I actually don't know it's to a we have in our website to versions. They say the exact same thing but once got church. Letterhead ones generic. And it's. it's been pretty epic. It's been a remarkably well received. That was crafted by some attorneys that we had put it together and so we have a religious exemption exemption. Warm you can. You can download it. You can get it. Signed now had some success. Unfortunately it's had very little success or maybe none regarding military which very much concerns me. it's had successful hospitals. It's had success with universities and with schools and with businesses in has had zero success with our pilots. Our soldiers who have used it for the military. This concerns me. Why is this happening. Something that where you you have soldiers who have sworn of defend us in to run into the fire and to risk their lives over a over a sickness that is ninety nine something percents recoverable. Let's just use our heads for moments. Something strange about this. Why more people die from aids seriously. Go look it up at the. Cdc more people die from aids. Why are we stopping all homosexual activity. If we care so much somebody could die. Why aren't we stopping alcohol or the sale of of of tobacco. What's the what's the thing. Something doesn't make any sense. And if i were china i would be sitting back watching us. Surrender because of fear. And now i've got to throw in manipulation and what's so terrible. Is that what. I am finding. This is not a perfect rule but the people that are resisting are people that have been there for a long time. Specialized skills and that are not easily replaceable. and there are a lot of entry level. that are resisting. but they don't have much leeway 'cause they'll get them right boot camp like you got it when i'm finding though it's people that have a couple of decades that really kind of know how the inner machinery of our military works if you're trying to all of a sudden disempower. The greatest fighting force ever assembles. Do no-one's trot exactly. And so what can we do. Prayer is that is not that is not something that we do just as our own kind of conciliatory action. God can intercede here but at some point and this is a call to action. Who's jack evil sizeable audiences on are to the senate. Republicans have to start to use whatever small political power they have and say. We're on the armed services committee. And i'll say this a couple of examples right. There's a good man who's a senator from oklahoma right jimmy. You probably met him rice. He's a christian. He could end this very quickly but he doesn't want to. Every person in the pentagon has gotten every favor for over the last thirty years missiles. We don't need bridges we don't need to build it's time for the republicans have given the pentagon every favor. They've asked for the last twenty or thirty years to pick up the phone and say it ends. Now that's mandating a vaccine against our military gravy. Train is over. They're not doing that. I want to say senator. Blackburn is senator. Cotton have been. Good on this senator cruz. Senator paul senator lead. But it's about time they start to hear from all of us. I want to say your father. We have his back. He's not alone and we're here to support in people like him. So thank you want to add as as believers you have to be a believer as an american citizen. The stewardship of this nation is our trust. That's that's on us. We have forgotten that. We've got easy. I don't know what we do we but we have stopped being attention to our local government and to our state into our federal government. We need to remember. We are to stewart this america. And we've gotta get involved with gutter getting engaged. Next question is charlie venomous asia. And i was recently vaccinated pressure to do so by the way i am the august. district on the is arizona's sports leagues so we all fall into not so only unvaccinated. Kids get warranting and the school. Teachers preach that if we're warranting it's our fault for falling behind in our education. Answer sport because we could have been vaccinated. We could have chose to be vaccinated vaccinated. People can still catch in spread the virus. It does not make any sense that they get to stay learning and playing their sport. While other people cannot Izard quarantine policy with induces law. And can they keep doing says. What school do you go to. I got a millennium millennium. This horrible say that again. Mp also in peoria same thing. And i just wanna make sure you got vaccinated against your will. Basically yes. Because i am. The above average golfer in college site have to have every season i can. It's so evil. Where at a place. Now that children have to make medical decisions in their entire life is being held hostage and you made the best decision as you know to make for yourself. That's what medical decisions are all about. We're never gonna ever insult anyone for making a medical decision. We don't do that here. That's the other side does tell us we can't go to reference So yet the quarantine. This whole thing is so insane and it's just a matter of time until someone starts to stand up against this starts change this. Yeah it should be against the law. It also should be against the law of scottsdale unified. School district defies ducey's law. That says you cannot mask children and they do it anyway. At some point there has to be an enforcement side of this right and currently feel as they can do anything that they wished to do. And it saddens me greatly perfectly honest that that you someone who wants to have a golf career you know was was basically held hostage for a virus that you're not going to die us like be perfectly honest. It's not going to happen but some creepy scientists in like. I wanna go control teenagers and their future. I i wish. I wish adults would have fought harder for you. I really do jackdaw. Actually i probably should be quiet about. I'm just sets me. I know i'm the same way. I it's so we've gotten to this place that we are in america to be sent to have something done to your body against your will. Look if you wanted the vaccine. God bless you that you're the exactly you said you didn't want and you were. You were manipulated. You were coerced and I just when i guess. When will americans actually unite and care about this enough to say it ain't going to happen and not going to have an. I will say that the attorney general today Did come out with the correct ruling for government employees in tucson. I would've liked to see that ruling earlier for high school students like that rally would have been probably better but he did come out with the proper ruling there but yeah but i'll be honest is like as much as we feel. There's a lot of us there are. We're in an ideological minority in the sense that they make. I mean i drive to work at turning point and a radio show every morning and it's like this nonstop propaganda thing. Have you seen this on the highways join four million arizonans. I'm like you know what like no. Okay i thought. I saw that the i two hundred times. Okay no okay. How about this like stop driving drunk. I like those those were good. I like the drive sober. Once i could get behind that so i want to say the quarantine policy. I don't know if it breaks the law or not or what it what it does. But i'm glad you're ok after getting vaccinated and did fight the and they got no response. There's many emails from was required by the will. Not the vaccine. But basically i i would not be around my team for weeks and play off. It's like the most socially distance forever learn. It's like the slight. Yeah gays like wait five minutes. They hit the reliving. The land leads saying your. Thank you for saying that. Some adults stood up. And i want to say. I'm sorry. you got put in this position but coupons speaking now so thank you so much.

"That is funny. So i just want to commend. You you as a sixth grader. So we're we're in this together so twenty years. It's going to be our country. What really is so. I want you to fight hard. People call you names and all that but you obviously have a great. Dad is very wise. Know your history. No no the basis love. The lord read the bible and i have a feeling that we're gonna be working for you one day so god bless you. Thanks for being here me. Strong my news andrea simpson and i actually recently transferred from a private christian school in costa mesa california. Only about two thousand kids on. I went in pre nursing and came out political science. His what i heard my question would be. What can you do on for college campuses. Not even just across the country but all of these campuses tour at that are christian in small and seems like there's amazing humidity. But i get in there and there are only two of us conservatives in the entire political science program and the other kids do great above me so what can christian schools right so jack. Do you want to start with this. About how some of the cemeteries. I mean some area kind of and by the way great school. That tommy barnett is involved in in florida. Doing some great things. Were gonna be announcing some on stuff with that that soon and there are some good ones but jack. Do you wanna talk about this. Does this an untold story. Kind of how some of these small christian schools kind of lost their way. It's absolutely tragic that what we're producing today. Our leader leaders who know nothing about the judeo christian worldview foundation of this nation again. The united states is the most unique experiment on the face of the earth and the reason being is because god was in at oliver founders said so they wrote it down. But here's the problem there. There's been some seminary disconnect that we don't talk about those things and it's it's absolutely wrong. So i'm sorry to tell you that. What what the immediate fix is is that you have to self educate because it's going to take a long time to turn the ship of these christian universities and colleges that have divorced themselves from the american experience because the american experience is a god thing and if you avoid that then you're going to have to people show up at these gatherings that's got the change so you're going to have to change that you're gonna have to educate yourself and others. Hey come to our meeting on tuesday night because did you know and just throw it out there. Did you know that. Sam adams was the spirit of the american revolution said his caster. You're going to get people to show up just to say that's true and then show them that it's true but you're gonna have to educate and educate that you gotta you gotta what's the word you have to be like accelerate. You gotta start something and it's got me on. Thank god that you see it. Well and part of the problem some of these christian schools. They've obviously on woke. Which is its own theology. That's right and bad. Theology leads to bad politics. And if you believe the bible is just kind of suggestion manual or dusty old book you're gonna get into bad politics and the bible speaks clearly that there is a natural law. The founders knew this. That's why they wrote the declaration the laws of nature and nature's god and so whether it be newtonian physics or how human beings operate under pressure. Are we meant. Samaria are we. How are we interact with one. Another that natural law is written throughout the scriptures. And how as christians are supposed to live our lives the other side the left if you do not they do not believe. There is a natural law. They believe that human behavior humans as as individuals are now you level changeable this is part of why they believe in this cult of science right now. This is a really important point. And i don't want to get too off course here but science is only useful. If you have strong character and proper morel's science is not a worldview to organize society around in fact but you'll hear it a lot of schools like we have to follow the science trust the scientists the scientists in charge you. Pull that to it's extrapolation. Eventually you're going to have a question who gets the medicine. That's right gets prioritize. Who gets to live and all of a sudden. You're in a moral argument. And if you try to organize society through a microscope or an test tube you will lead. Eugenics you will lead all of a sudden. The selection of the survival of the fittest. Jacco had just happens. That charlie and eric. They're at a service. We were in romans. One one of the greatest sermon. Andrew charlie happened and then there and you don't know this. But i got a whole lot of trouble afterwards because what i said regarding this was in romans chapter one the bible teaches that there's two genders and we'll wait watch what happens so i didn't take the biblical approach. I sit the bible says this. But you don't have to believe in the bible to come to that conclusion if you're an atheist if you're an atheist and you believe in evolution then you're gonna come to the conclusion that the bible says because this survival of the fittest is reproduction. That's why when you watch the moose and they're about they're in montana the the big most has got all the other lady moose's around him. How did that happen. That big moose. Beat up all the other. A wimpy boy. Mousse is okay. You're with me. Here's the thing about the same knee and evolution. Listen if evolutions true right there would be no homosexual experience because evolution would have removed it. That is a scientific facts. So i put forward the argument that you don't you don't have to read the bible to know which way to go on this look at the science. Look at the biology and then even look at the claim evolution. It's still begs up gender to come together as one when you argue you can argue biblical truth without using christian as we need to learn how to talk to the world without using christian knees and sutton listen. Science only works when it's interpreted exactly what charlie said understanding that there is that law giver and newton had no problem with this. Newton came to the conclusion that i now understand science better thus i have greater faith in god get remember that but finally say just some of these christian schools. I think don't understand the proper role of how to organize civil society. This is a very important project. It's not the most important project but it can be the most important project you organiz society incorrectly if you live under tyranny if you live under a dictatorship if you live in just opium nightmare or if you live under the cult of scientists as we live under right now then. The gospel is that less likely to spread. Then it's harder to have large families it's harder to be fruitful and multiply and part of the problem with some of these christian schools. I think they understand or they're unwilling at times the contest on this so i want to encourage you get involve turning point. Usa which is the real aren't thank you. My name's isaac and currently my dad has served twenty seven years in the united states air force. Thank you thank someone up for his service. thank you. I recognize your efforts to limit vaccine seeing mandates out for students in college campuses my question would be for us as fishing conservatives. And you guys. What can we do to help advocate. Help and Just show our support for those in the military that are facing possible end of their career just over the vaccine. I'll start jack than you wanna. You could handed off so this is going to be a really interesting dilemma at the military's about to face because you look at their publicly announced vaccination rates they're going to dishonorably discharged thirty percent of the military. Roughly if you count it altogether. Are they willing to do that. Two months ago. I would said no. Now i don't dismiss anything from this current regime perfectly honest with you. But here's what really gets to be fired up and thank you for the kind words because we at turning point have taken a strong stance against mandatory vaccinations. You know where the vaccine isn't mandatory. You work in the biden white house. That's right if you are a staff member in the biden white house you do not have to get vaccinated but if you are a fit marie or serve twenty seven years in the air force courageously the perfect record. They could dishonorably discharged. Which means many things right. It means that you might not be able to get your pension. You might future job opportunities. You might have the benefits potentially withheld from you. And so i would say that this we need to do i in arizona. Okay if you know any of the house congressional delegation here in arizona. You need them to raise their voice to make stink about this in washington. Dc that means the great congressman. Andy biggs is a friend of mine. Right congressman schweik jelly lesko. You and their friends of mine by the way you see remind them..

"Had to get it done. Eleven years old sixth grade. Quit my question is it had why. What's a good way nonthreatening way to share my conservative values with my first of all. That's amazing i want. I want to empower you. You say you're in sixth grade. When i was in sixth grade in two thousand six long longtime ago her teen years ago yeah. I don't know if you were born in two thousand six. No you weren't. I edit teacher who will remain nameless and the teacher decided to do an entire seminar on climate change and on why america's awful country and so the. I had to make a decision in sixth grade weather. Not i was going to stand up against this teacher and i did. She sent me to the hall and so that was like the form of punishment back. I don't know if they still do that. They still send people out to the hall but it all the sudden. I made a commitment that no matter what the cost. I was always going to advocate for my beliefs. And so i just want to tell you that the younger you get involved in this the stronger you will become. And the lord will bless you richly as someone who wants to pursue righteousness with courage. Yeah listen. I'm going to need some help from all of you. I would encourage you to get your hands on a series of books. I believe it's mike huckabee. Does anybody know what that is called with the kids but in the name of it is it's awesome and you need that. And here's the reason why they're gonna teach you how this nation came together okay and the nation came together by people speaking out and when you learn your routes when you learn your countries beginning that's gonna catch fire inside of you. Okay when you read that. Patrick henry henry said this. And it's all written at your grade level. You're going to say. Oh my gosh. I can do that. That's why he did that with this thing. That's what they did that. When you get that information in you it makes it so much easier to speak out. You'll know wendy speak out at the right time but the greatest thing is for you to have the foundation so that good stuff comes out okay and that somebody tell her what that is that your data kids guys. Funniest shirt i've ever seen. It says dads against daughters dating democrats. Very.

"Other young people and students that agree with you and start to embrace being an activist which is demand needs and to all of a sudden. Say what what if all of us to show up without a master kick all out of school. We're paying tuition be you like. This is the sort of attitude that unfortunately have to start to embody. And i will say this on jack. I love your thoughts. It really needs be the parents that are fighting for you. Though and like not the problem it's moves like brophy is that that's a ruling class school like they want their kids to go to harvard. And the way that you settle differences for families that want their kids to go to harvard. Is you ask for meetings and you write letters like we're long past right. We gotta start all of a sudden be like internet like we now have to embrace that kind of active spirit because it is child abuse the fact that you as a high schooler have to walk around with a cloth on your on your face. It's wrong it's filed

"And now they're in washington dc. I'm talking congressional. Sees a couple of those people go to church. What's going on in california to things people had enough. They're realized i don't wanna. I don't wanna move on to california and the handful of churches that are telling the truth. We don't have enough room for people flocking to find out. What do i do. California is changing. We don't know how this how this elections go on september fourteenth. Oh we know how it's gonna go. We know how it's gonna end. It's who counts the votes that matters because the church has awakened in california endear. Be quiet with this. I lived through the jesus movement revival in the seventies. I saw what happened when you have people showing up an hour early to get into church and stand in line when you beth ties. Three thousand people in eleven months when you see what's happening that's called a spiritual awakening. People want answers. The church in california is waking up. I have incredible hope for california. And you're watching it unfold right now. So don't lose heart arizona. Do not lose art. Just let your light shine. Do the right thing. Don't expect your neighbor to do it. You do it. Don't say well you know what. I'm sure those people don't take care of it. You like no one else is gonna vote. He's he will pass through. Why should i vote. And we're going to lose because you're going to do the right thing. I don't i honestly don't care about the outcome. As long as i do the right thing i wanna be the look god right in the face and say that. I voted for a pro-life candidate for.

"Force the to force election to convict california's darling. Really know really to throw him out. How did this happen. And it went down the list and it started mentioning this. It's happened in the churches in california. This is where it happened. L. a. times los angeles times. I'm telling you right now. You are going to think. I'm crazy california. I was born and raised in california. I'm what i'm telling you right now. True i've watched it go from a state that had reagan as governor and sent him to washington. Dc to fall apart completely to be in a total embarrassment now. The recall effort is so powerful that it had to be bipartisan effort. Second thing is this that in the last twenty twenty election in november. You didn't hear anything about california did you. Did you think about it in california the news. No you didn't want to know why because the news will not report what happened in california in november of two thousand twenty. What happened to november. Twenty twenty and california was that for example. Four congressional seats that were rock-solid for a certain party that i'm not supposed to mention we're completely lost two four pro-life believers.

"That america knows so. Please welcome to the stage active. Everybody jack for a for a turn of events. I actually gets interview you this fun and i want to say hello to everyone watching on youtube on both our youtube channel and the happening. Now you can. Yeah happening now. Youtube channel of our facebook and charm. Little later today because it's so early yet. This is going to be replayed on our television station covering the hawaiian islands later today. Praise god and so jack introduce yourself this audience obviously with this warm reaction. A lotta people know you know your ministry of talk about how you got into ministry your church and godly you. Wow i mean. That's a huge ask. It's been thirty years now. Since leeson i my wife we moved out from costa mesa and we started a home bible study and she no hells. Nobody knows what that is. We love it that way. It's got a small town by although it doesn't it doesn't have the feel of freedom like you guys are enjoying hope you know this but long story short started a home bible study was six people in it and i think my sunday. We had somewhere around thirteen or fourteen thousand adults. And it's been going. Look what you guys. What's happening here. Charlie knows this. We have been standing in that water in southern california of cultural impact. We believes that. Jesus when he said let your light so shine before men that when they see your good works glorify your father which is in heaven and when you begin done packed with that scripture means when jesus said let your lights will shine before men is generic. It's includes unbelievers so from the beginning we fifty two weeks a year. We host voter registration. We know our school board members by name. We pray for them by name. City council. the county board of supervisors. We made sure we connect with them. Meet with them. Ask them how they're do. Pray with them and so because of that. There's been a relationship that i i'd love for all of you to pay close attention to when california locked down. Remember and. I'm so grateful for charlie for keeping america aware that some of california's us cities and counties. Lock down harder than even new york. But when that hits we saw the the tale of two churches we saw john macarthur fighting la county and that was brutal and then we saw what happened with our church that sits on the la county san bernardino county line totally different politics because what we did. We is the fact that we engaged our leaders and so we remained open. And since that time. Charlie you know well we've touched now During the season over three thousand people we have grown by the thousands and god is opened up so many doors. People wanna voice in jack. Also you even collect ballots if people wanna vote. How many ballots did you collect last sunday. Yeah you guys need to understand in california the the the party that shall not be named pass the lawn sacramento and they invented something called ballot harvesting. It's a horrible idea. Nobody in their right mind would think of doing such a thing. But you could go door to door and you can get signatures. You can get people and it's very it. Opens up the door for a horrible horrible mistreatment cheating to say the least part of that system that they passed into law. We wound up doing. Is that we we circumcised so to speak and the spiritual speaking we made it. We made it with some integrity meaning that we purchase special boxes from amazon. We have guards. We have documentation so the community can bring their ballots and make sure that their ballot is counted and so we call it valid collection and and it has been overwhelmingly successful. And i think we're going to be looking excellence. The twenty thousand ballots coming in from the community where people wanna vote.

"Today. The attorney general arizona mark brnovich came out said that local governments cannot mandate the vaccine against employees will here in the local states and counties great news and i wanna thank the attorney general for speaking clearly on that a number to another action point if anyone is involved or connected to feet. They are forcing every single child to get vaccinated or be subjected twice a week testing and no traveling with sports teams. We have called growthy. And what's even worse than that. Is that brophy. They brag about their scholarship students which are low income typically hispanic students that go to brophy. They are calling hispanic families and threatening that their children do not get the vaccine. They're soft threatening saying oh you know. There's a lot of other children that are on the waiting list and the hispanic community in the black community. Have low rates vaccination. This is evil. What is going on at brophy. They have they've already betrayed. The legacy of what was once a great schools of anyone is connected there or if you know people there. There's there's an amazing group of moms that are holding it down for the boys that go to brophy and i just want to say. Please get involved if you can. Because that's a really really important fight locally okay everybody. We're some momentum here in arizona and one of the reasons that this whole event came to be because of a friend of mine who's been speaking out so clearly on these issues for years. We all heard from pastor rob mccoy last month and rob mccoy and jack jobs are both calorie chapel pastors and jack hibs. I got to know because he had me speak at his happening. Now event i think a year and a half ago and i saw a crowd like this. And i said you're allowed to do weeknight. Events talking about what's happening in your local area and a pastor do that and inspired this whole thing. This conversation with the barnet's and jack heads is without a doubt one of the most godly and brave and courageous pastors..

"And lots of i want to just say thank you again. So this wonderful church and church family that allows this to happen and it is growing with momentum. And i'm gonna tell you some funds success stories that have come out of freedom square here in just the last month and i have to say i'm playing hurt here tonight on friday. A lot of you can sympathize with that with this all four. My wisdom teeth removed. So the fact that i'm here today i think is actually a testament to dr paul. Who does a finale. Anyone needs a dentist. in scottsdale. no opioids four days later. Still doing radio and speaking at an event. That's that's a god thing i have to say. Glory to god right. So i want to tell jack this but i invited jack as the backup in case i was an opening my mouth at all here tonight. So now he knows really why he was invited here tonight so a couple of things i just want to. I want to say the momentum continues to grow and we here at freedom square top have talked about the importance of school board involvement since the very beginning. Remember the verse that we've been focusing on jeremiah. Twenty nine seven demand the welfare of the city or the place that i've sent you in because your welfare is tied to your cities welfare. And so as many of you know these scottsdale unified school district. I believe made a terrible mistake a couple weeks ago to decide not to listen to parents and say that every single child is going to be forced to wear a mass at the school at scottsdale unified school district with very few waivers very few exceptions in between and we know what this does the childhood development. We know what this does to emotional development. We know what this does to spiritual development. God gave us a face for a reason. And we know that pudding clots over. Children has way more negatives than potential positives and so we sent out a little bit of a notice at turning point saying. Hey this is happening. Guys wanna show up and i have to tell you i was so inspired by how many people from dream city church showed up to that scottsdale unified school district meeting. And i'm gonna play some highlights here so it's so easy to go and speak at one of these things people show up and allow your voice to be heard i was number one and my wife was number two to speak. I have to say my wife gave a much better speech than i did. And we're gonna play a part of it because she named and shamed all of them because of what they've been doing in this local area i'll tell you and but it really does show a less than a bible tells us which is that evil does not like when it is called out and by the forty fifth errands that we had show up at the scottsdale unified school district. All the sudden one of the school board members who will remain nameless said something that no one should say any sort of decent setting caught on hot mic and it caught and in lot of lawn. Stop apology to her. Because of it a very bad thing to say. And i realized these people have never been called out for what they've done for this for this long. Still have the power. Everybody and i can tell you right now. I think they're here tonight and it's not they should be but they're four out of five of those school board members are now facing a recall and we have to get.

"I think the supplies where the left always knew if they were able to indict our founding than the country can unravel this. Why ruin so interested in ancestry ancestry dot com right there so we wanna know who came before us. It's there's a yearning in your soul. The bible speaks to this too. I mean luke and matthew. If i'm not mistaken. Both open up the genealogy correct leader joseph for mary or through joseph and the genealogy of such and the bible's very clear about passing customs down from one generation to the other. There's a yearning in your soul for that so then you have the sixteen year old citizen. Who's looking around and looking at hope. They don't even have the flag anymore in the classrooms writing that down. Let's pretend there's a flag around. They say. I wonder what that means to me. And the left has always known if they can make that flag. Be something other than something virtuous or admirable. They've won the entire debate in one thousand. Nine hundred as reagan was was very clear about bringing back. This idea of kind of the magnanimous conservative. But the unapologetically patriotic conservative. I hate to. I hate to be critical of reagan. Because he was so phenomenal but there were some things that were questionable with immigration and many other things but just broadly in the eighties bob and early nineties. Do you think that we didn't take the government education problems serious enough hundred percent. Why is alzheimer's such a horrible disease. Because a person doesn't know who they are and so they don't remember their past if you can't remember your past that you don't know who you are therefore you don't know where you're going and if if your wife is dying of cancer you can speak to her and make pledges and hold her hand and she goes into eternity. It's as sad as can be but when a person is there and they don't know you are and they don't know who they are. It's a tragic tragic. Now what has been a deliberate attempt to take this four percent of the population of the world. The as long as there is an american on the planet. They know that. That's the place that i can go to escape if a ship is attacked on the high seas as there's an american they'll come save me if somebody's cheating on a patent that american will protect us if somebody's printing artificial money in the money supply any place on the plant. American banking will shut it down. America is the standard for righteousness. Just take away. What america is then we can go. We can give it alzheimer's so how do we do that. We have to go back and take all the people as to what they did. And we distorted. Lie about it. We twist it true. Is it true. And so when you i would encourage everyone to read david. Barton's book on thomas jefferson and when it came out all of these people really attacked him as he wasn't an historian and all he did was take what jefferson said and what he did and they all began quoting each other from these books in the nineteen fifties and sixties original source document. What he did so in order to take down. America you must. I say that those people that did these things. We're not trustworthy. Then it was built on. I lie so they misrepresent. That's why i was on the seventeen. Seventy six commission because we got understand. America was founded on july four. Seventeen seventy six not in sixteen. Nineteen one hundred and fifty years before thomas jefferson. George washington was even born so they tried to to cloud the two so the america doesn't know what they were therefore they don't know who they are and that's why that's the war we're involved in right now. So what is the most important thing that we can do in the nineteen eighties nineties. We knew that the educational system was being stolen out from under us. But we didn't want to get involved. Why why was there. This unwillingness bob. I i'd have to. I'd have to think about that a bit. Go ahead rob prosperity. They didn't see the fear. It was the ego. The embedded growth obligation. Things are just going to keep getting better and we don't want to upset the applicant and the country. wh- was always in. America was never the premier nation on earth until nineteen forty seven. And then after. After after that i it was in a telegram that was sent from the prime minister of britain was sent to to harry truman. On april seventh nineteen forty seven and said unless the united states intervened in the cyprus crisis that the crown had neither passing or the will to be involved in that the torch was passed to the united states of america became the premier nation on earth. Never in the history of man as one nation become the premier nation on earth. What it didn't seek it. The indian the the romans knew what they had to do. The french new at the british. Do what they had to do. The greeks knew everybody saw the single exception to that is the united states of america that was was given world leadership not because it sought it because people trusted and we didn't like it. We didn't like to pay for it. We wish it would go away. We've handed more more responsibly than than anyplace else. Now in the process of that we. Then we're we're in a competition for seventy years at the end. We could get into how it happened but nevertheless after world war two. We gave away for that. Eight year period if way all of central eastern europe to the soviet union. And so then. We had this competition going on ronald reagan. It's an and then by that time. And when i came in and said well we have to contain communism state where we are reagan commended. We don't have to contain communist. We can transcend communist loved and went after it and collapse. Now these people are in their twenties have lived in a period unlike any time in the history of the world the one nation a completely unchallenged economically military and politically on the planet. And so they thought this is how it is and so they think i can just go ahead. We'll take socialism from from venezuela and. We'll take this from there and they don't understand that none of those people would do. Anything ship is lost. If a plane is lost over the alps this afternoon or flying over africa tonight. They're using a global positioning system. Conceived and bennett maintained by americans. I if the list goes on and on so that how did we get in this mess. We took it for granted that freedom was in our dna that america would always be safe. We could make any compromise that we could make and we'll just let it go and we won't get blessed me my wife john wife us four. No more amen. We're just going to focus on ourselves and the process is about to come back and snap it. That's why this awakening this. That we're enjoying at the moment is essential..

"We're going to take you to a new place for better jobs. That'd be better schools to be better and then if you have the we'll go back and get the rest but the children are going to be afraid in their wife is going to take the key from you and so you have to be solid and tomorrow morning at ten o'clock at the train station walked them on. That's what evil has used is. Fear americans were known to not be fearful. They're the ones that marched in the battle. The when everybody else has fallen away. What the american gi immersed into normandy et cetera this idea of us succumbing to fear. We'll take our liberty and we've seen it what happened in the time has come for leaders to stop it so now i really wanna kinda get to just america in general non political discussion. Just what we're seeing around us and what can be done about this regime and what we're living under I want to pick up. What you said though All this all almost all this change in the nineteen sixties. There's a phenomenal book. I quoted all the time age of entitlement by christopher caldwell. I just i told you about it last week. Actually we were having dinner together. Where he he really pinpoints. Nine hundred and sixty three sixty four sixty five as when america refounded itself and not for the better by the way refounded itself based on prioritizing pleasure as prioritizing rebellion prioritizing dissension prioritizing authoritarianism and. I think that's an important moment. Because we're really living in a post nineteen sixties america where that spirit of fear whereas rejected in the fifth in one thousand nine hundred nineteen forties nineteen fifties and the sixties had a totally different attitude. And i think that's important kind of being able to tell ourselves how we navigate that also rob in the one thousand nine hundred nineteen sixties early seventies. We saw different form of christianity. Come in america. Talk about that so So chuck smith came on the scene especially for catholic chapel sixty eight and the idea of evangelism and they. They brought in syncopated rhythms. Which probably disappointed you in lives but Autho music and what they didn't california. Interestingly enough is chuck taught the bible verse by verse chapter chapter book by book but he stayed away from politics because in sixty eight when he started it Martin luther king reverend dr martin luther king junior have been shot. Bobby kennedy had been shot. Sixty three jake kidman shot. Then you had the meantime askar the offensive. And all these young people who had been seeking hope and change had checked out of the church and explored eastern religions and drug use and they they came back disillusioned because all their political heroes were dead and chuck avoided politics but he taught he taught the the way to salvation and grew ten thousand percent in fifty. Two years trae There's more coverage apples southbound doughnuts. There's a lot of dunkin's yeah there's a lot of dunkin donuts and and so so. The lion share those churches are in california. Ten thousand percent growth harvest crusades greg. Laurie but but in sixty eight we had the fifth largest gdp and it was a state of the future a trait but he avoids politics because the kids are burned out on it. I am grateful to chuck for my verse by verse. You know systematic study of the scriptures. I do not resent that. I i am who i am because he did what he did. But we miss something. Because we didn't engage in the public square the matthew sixteen we avoided that and now california no longer has a fifth largest gdp. We have the six maybe seven. We have a highest gas sales tax income tax highest debt highest unemployment highest poverty highest homelessness. And we've aborted more children than any other state in the union authors. No fault divorce. The transgender bathroom bills. And that's because the church didn't engage in the public square but the some be specific though for those that are watching right now. There was no instruction to now that you're christian. Let the light of. Jesus shine out of you everywhere. Not just at boeing or raytheon or at the county run for school board. Right run for city council and that's where we're seeing a change in california now but is it proverbs twenty nine two. I believe that says that when the when the wicked or in authority the people grown but when the righteous rule people rejoice and to me the mandate to let your light so shine everywhere now. Politics is not my thing. But if i was an engineer or if i was a school bus driver i would be a christian first and then a school bus driver and so why can't you be mayor right but a christian i. It's not that you're gonna christian is your city or america. You're going to be the christian witness the kingdom of god's in heaven. We're not going to bring it down here and make it happen but until we do go to heaven. We need to shine that light everywhere but rob was going to say. Well i was just gonna add that that with that revolution that occurred that you speak of th there was there was a communist you know invasion into the nation in the sense that they occupied the folks that were in the sixties seventies the war riots that ended up coming back to church but there some of them now they become the professors and teachers and even comes into the church. And and there's a -fluenced after we come back after the war america prospers and then we helicopter parent these kids so true and then we avoid participating in their school boards and leave it up to the government and we put more reliance on the government and we just pursue all of our bibles and trinkets and the next thing you know. We've lost the education of an entire generation and the church has been influenced as well so well said one of the most misunderstood but often quoted lines is rendered a seas of the things that are caesar's and to god the things that are god's as though there's a separation of church and state when jesus said that gimme a coin. Give me a coin. And he holds up that coin. And he asked the people whose inscriptions on this caesar's render to caesar the things that are caesar's to god the things that are god's every jew standing in that neighborhood knew exactly what jesus meant we don't get it in the west. What did you mean we missed it. It's this give to caesar. The coin is faces on. Give it to him but render to god. The things that are god's every jew would have said brilliant he just said everything including caesar in that coin rome itself caesar's palace caesar salad belongs to god. They all knew that we westernized that in somehow created a separation..

Our Fear of Death Should Be Driving Us to the Church
"Do we balance not not having on because air subtle talked about having having the moderation of all things right so you don't want all of a sudden kind of drive on one hours of sleep and not wear your seat. You wanna be reckless right. And how do you balance that. Yes first of all this is good warning. How many people in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one of died of artifacts bronchial infections diabetes. We don't know. I've got doctors who've told me we don't know because everything has been labeled and wrapped around cova for example that fear factor has skewed everything we've had scientists tell us we won't know the data regarding the future. It messes up everything but having said that what are we afraid of. I'm afraid of getting it. Are you afraid of getting diabetes. Do you watch what you eat. Are you afraid no no afraid of those things it has been so talked up and i'm not look it's a. It's a very very serious illness. I get it but it's not the only illness that's out there. The point that i think has happened across the nation and around the world is people all of a sudden became very very fearful of dying and my argument is this. You're gonna die sooner or later. Do you know jesus christ. This fear should be driving you to church not away from church jack. A love of the world or for the world yeah. That's what i'm saying. Is that like for example. Bob in the nineteen sixties. We had a pandemic and we handled it totally differently. Do you think people are more attached to the world. Then word yes. That's one of the reasons we reacted the way we did. Yes absolutely and it's it's sad and it's sadder when it's manifested in the pulpit and then the ministry where that's where the leadership should come from wishes steer them through the waters of crisis
What Is the Magna Carta?
"A lot of people. And i'm sad to say there's pastors that don't even know what the magna carta is or the mayflower about that. What is the magna carta jack. It's probably the the foundational birth certificate of what we know in our liberty and freedom today from the magna card in that declaration of individual rights and freedoms that have been given to us by god our original founding fathers bradford and those on the mayflower their next authorship was the mayflower compact. And it tells you right there that there's these structures these rules guardrails call them that are given to us by god and from those writings. We talked earlier before about john. Locke fifteen hundred says that. John locke wrote from scripture regarding the government of ma'am yes and we should live. I mean it's overwhelmingly obvious that were created by god he has based he says his image innis. We think freedom we know at tyrannies. Look what's happening right now in afghanistan were watching the big stick overrule the freedom in the love. That people have to be free. And it's so important. You mentioned the magnet carter and the mayflower compact mayflower compact was written actually at sea amongst people. That did not even know they were going to survive the trip and not all believers. That's what's so. It was one hundred and twenty families. I think i could be wrong with the number and there were some defectors to some people didn't even sign it. They just left them right now. they went. Who knows where they went. But if you read the mayflower compact. It's so tightly written but it's basically if we survive. Here's what we're going to agree to a transcendent order. Here's how we're going to govern ourselves and what's amazing it was an impromptu kind of add hawk creation in the middle of a storm of how does one govern themselves when you go to something. Barron that is locks question. Isn't it of who is a man in the state of nature and they were blown off course and they were supposed to go somewhere completely. Different would have been under the authority of the king. Had they not been blown off course right and then they ended up in a place where they had to come up with their own political
What Is Turning Point Faith?
"Just tell you about turning point faith. We want to bring a coalition of liberty between churches and grassroots americans to try and save western civilization. Jack wise it so important that churches and pastors rise up and do that. Yeah listen first of all. The foundation is the fact that the scripture teaches us. That god's word is sure in certain we have departed. From god's word many pulpits today do not believe in the scripture. We've got to get back to the scripture back to the bible and back to our nation's routes a lot of people struggle with well that's political and that's faith when you go to the foundation of america. It was all faith that drove this nation into existence. We need to get back to a culture that honors. God and does the right thing. Are you starting to see that change amongst other pastors at least in your region believe it or not we're starting to see that change in southern babylonia or telephone southern california that's happening or so excited and Yeah it's changing and people are waking up to the

"So when i started designing plans i just naturally started designing them around the materials. We use in the industry when we started our company in may of two thousand the market. Kinda slow down in two thousand eight. And i have builders coming to me telling me you know we hope you stay in business because your plans are bidding out ten to thirty thousand dollars less than some of the other competitive firms out there when i asked why they pointed out that because of my building background and use of space and materials more efficiently that are plans were just costing less to build which gave them the advantage so we use that a lot. That's the reason that we've thoroughly enjoyed our relationship with you is because of that knowledge with

"Talking with you. Past. Jack Hibbs is the pastor of Calvary Chapels in Chino Hills, California He is part of a documentary entitled After Trump a warning to America. Master. What is that warning to America? Well, thank you so much for having me that warning to America something that perhaps maybe a lot of Americans are not aware of and they may be thinking that it's Just about Donald Trump. The documentaries actually issuing this warning that once President Trump is off the scene, be it in this next election or four years from now. The documentary reveals the threat of globalism. That's really what it's about is that there is a march a global march, uh regarding globalism, global government, global currency, global and some global world as it as it would be. And the interesting thing about Donald Trump is that this guy gets elected in 2016. And winds that put in a great pause button on the agenda of the globalist. And so it's a fascinating documentary. I think people who will watch it and listen to it will Really be enlightened over the fact that We have this amazing that a window right now where Trump is very pro American, obviously, but Pro democracy for any country in the world. One of those, of course, being Israel and it's been. It's been something where we as Americans need to sit up and take notice of, But the documentary is quite revealing. I think people get a lot out of it. Interesting. Why should folks be concerned about globalism for people who don't know what that term means? And you do, But what should worry people about that. Yeah, To be honest with you. There's only a few countries in the world that are really, really concerned about globalism again, one of them's Israel. Canada to some degree America's leading the way. But why, yes, degree question. What's wrong with globalism? Globalism is is the thought child. Of of of people, power brokers, the super elite that believe that the nations of the world have failed there. They don't have any leadership. They don't have any vision and that they need this infusion of unity. And it's the unity sounds fantastic, but it's unity at the expense of individual rights and freedoms. Now this is America, with all of our wards and olive are imperfections as a nation. America still the greatest.

"For personal individual freedoms and most importantly liberties when it comes to religious freedom. globalism is really a dressed up version and type presentation of socialism. It's it's the unification of all but all are the same all have the same status and you might say well that's utopian that's fantastic. It's never worked before. It's not going to work. But you know i'm a bible believing christian and so. I understand that the bible speaks about eventually a day coming when there's going to be a global governance of the world for now we're talking about the united states talking about england. Brazil countries that are loving their independence loving their freedom and Globalism is the answer to disenfranchise nations nations. That perhaps have lost their way and It's it's pretty remarkable when you see these trends moving in and once again twenty sixteen in that election really through some sand into the advancement of that. But you know listen. We're starting to see resurrection. Thoughts of that stuff where In the in the name of globalism let's get a global vaccination. Let's get global numeric currency now. Nobody wants to handle dollars and sense because it could spread viruses and all of these things sound good. We wanna put an end to human trafficking. Of course we do but what they do is come along and say but we need to unite as as a world and come together as one nation and that's just diametrically opposed to our constitution to our three hundred years of history as a nation and So it's fascinating to see again. The documentary reveals this in great detail with a great lineup of a presenters In this documentary documentary is called after trump a warning to america and in the promo materials i read. Let me see if i can find. It was designed to make it easier for christians to use the film as a tool to share with their friends. Neighbors and fellow church members. And you say our vision was to make it possible for concerned christians across the country to host home watch parties and get the word out about what's really at stake in this election. It may be too late for home. Watch party but if someone wants to share that with a family member who's going to cast a vote tomorrow. How do they do that. They can do that several ways. They can actually simply just google after trump The movie they could actually go to my website and obtain their at jack. Kids dot com. That's simple jack. Hibs hiv bbs dot com And they can take take a look or get a copy there The interesting thing about this is that it's it's pretty evergreen. Meaning that even after the election the truth that is presented documentary. People are going to wanna watch it To really see what's coming up next on the global scene so it's not it doesn't expire Once the election's over it's very very needful information. So thank you for that all right. Let's hope folks will go and watch it and cast informed votes pastor jack hips. Thank you very much for being our guest. Come back and see us. College Students (And Their Parents) Face A Campus Mental Health 'Epidemic'
"Colleges and universities across the country are reporting an explosion of mental health problems verging on an epidemic. According to my guest, Dr be Janet Hibs and Dr Anthony Ross Dane, their new book, the stressed years of their lives is about why college students are more stressed. And how parents can help their kids cope with stress and anxiety and prepare them to become independent after Hibbs is a family and couple psychotherapist. Her son took a medical leave of absence during his first collared spring break to deal with anxiety and depression when he returned home. He was treated by Dr Ross Dane, who chaired, the university of Pennsylvania's task force, and students psychological health and wellbeing. Dr Ross Dan, is a professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the is Perelman school of medicine and practices at the children's hospital of Philadelphia. Dr Ross Dan, Dr heads welcome to fresh air. Dr dinner. I want to start with you. You say that you've seen a dramatic rise in campus mental illness rates describe what you're seeing on campus. Well, we've always had students come in with anxiety, and depression, or adjustment disorders and having to see a counselor or therapist or psychiatrist to help them through a crisis. What we're seeing now with growing numbers of students coming into campus who already are already being treated for mental illness, who've are on various medications, and who really have learned to manage their illnesses at home but suddenly they're on their own and sometimes they're not following through their own recommended. Treatments were also seeing students coming on with an inordinate amount of anxiety about surviving college and doing well. And we think the anxiety levels are rising, and creating in students, a great amount of both distress when anything goes wrong more of a brittle response to challenges a greater avoidance of risk. So people are really not wanting to move out of their comfort zone and in real. Over reliance on things like alcohol and other substances to help manage things like social anxiety. The good news though, is that they're more aware of that. So we think more of them are coming forward to talk about it. Us server seeing were stress and anxiety in students today. What do you think are some of the causes behind those new levels of stress? Well, we think that the culture has changed in the last thirty forty years and that these students are growing up in the post nine eleven era that they've been exposed to a lot of trauma, both in the media and also in their lives. Many of them school shootings the rise in uncertainty from globalization. And of course, the economic recession of two thousand eight you know, our students today we were young then and the anxiety. We think really had an impact on their families as well as on what they could glean from the news. And of course, being in this twenty four seven news cycle, as well as the internet itself has really created a sort of a different childhood, you're at the university of Pennsylvania, which is a pretty expensive. Yep. School does that. Add to the stress. Oh, house -olutely center. Of this huge investment that you or your family are making in this college students come to school nowadays, very conscious of that of the economic expansion of the sacrifice that, that parents are making and that adds to their burden of, of worry about doing well and about, especially about anything going wrong. I mean we can also talk I think about the preparation for school that many of them have been overprepared in terms of taking tons of AP classes and really packing their CV's with all kinds of activities, and we worry that there's not enough downtime and things that they can do. They're not going to necessarily always result in a great or in someone noticing them. You know, you have to do a lot of family therapy, so you see a lot of families before the child is going to call it. What are some of the stressors that you're seeing in preparation for call in preparing kids to be on their own? The overwhelming majority of high school students today. It somewhere around ninety percent report college as their top stressor and to build on what Tony saying it's not only kids, but their parents who are anxious. So we're living in a culture of fear and many times parents come to me and go what's wrong with kits today? I didn't have these kinds of stressors and this isn't what my college experience was like. And it's important for parents to know we're in what I would call a moment of historic swerve where basically this has been building for about forty years. And then the threat is just spinning out rolling out really fast now with all of the very rapid changes. And so parents have gone into a control mode they used to promote autonomy. That's how I grew up like the free range kid. But now, they're basically. They're exerting more and more control, which makes their kids more anxious and also less prepared for the unpredictable. We knew say, more control what forms of control? Parents are scared that there's only one path linear path to the good life, and silver some parents who are affluent enough. That means the brand name college or top, you know, prep that you can get for other parents. It's just a lot of pressure on the kids. You have to do well, you can't make a mistake. Your chances will be ruined. So we see, especially very smart kids, which some researchers call brainiacs. They have what we call destructive perfectionism, which they cannot tolerate. Not excelling at everything and no one. I mean, typically excels at everything we all have, you know, times when we, we both make mistakes, or fail, and kids don't have as much practice at that today. Because there. Protected from having those experiences and also it freaks their parents out, which makes the kids feel more responsible. I wanna go to something that you mentioned, which is a lot of parents feel like I don't know, when I went to college, I was so happy to get away from my parents and to be independent. So why is my child so reluctant to leave home? Why are they having such a hard time adjusting to being away from home, and I'd like you to reflect on that a little bit because I think it is baffling to a lot of parents. I think most kids are still really happy to leave home. They want to be in the life of the pseudo adult, but what they're unprepared for our what I would call both the expectable challenges that college poses in terms of the requirement for more independence, more ownership of your hours, whether it's sleep saying no to partying managing yourself, basically. And it also is a fact that parents remembrance is that it was less pressure. That's absolutely true. It's a much harsher environment now to same number of slots at these top competitive schools, a lot more applicants and part of what's also going on. Is that as the college for all movement rolled out forty five years ago? It dismantled vocational funding at the federal and community college levels, and even at the public university levels. The underlying message is there's only one path to a good life. And so the pressure on kids who've really, you know drunk the Kool aid. That's the message. They believe is that they'll have as one of the kids, I've treated says a second tier life unless they just keep going to the top top top top schools of everything. And even then they feel they cannot make mistakes. It's all about expectations. Now, there's a certain amount of inev-. Evitable anxiety about transition. I mean we, we call this age the transitional age period of transitional age youth so that we think is natural, the, the feeling that, oh, I don't know quite what I'm doing here, but it's the response that they're having to that uncertainty that we've noticed students have a lot less resilience or preparation. So that's part of what we're trying to do in this book is really talk about readiness social emotional readiness. There's no question. People are actively prepared. I mean they're learning incredible amount nowadays in school. They're learning amazing kinds of things, and the internet has opened up knowledge that was never as available, you know, but it's also created distractions and a lot of pressure. Socially, and more importantly, I think when people get to college, maybe not enough time has been spent in highschool both in the curricular side. And with the family in what we call social emotional readiness or mature. Parity? How do you teach that? I mean what are you what do you mean by preparation? How do you hear somebody else, so fan maturity begin to going back to the comparisons? You know in the past we'd go off to college. Sometimes never our parents would drop us off. But that's it say goodbye, and you're, you're there, once a week phone call. Yeah. Once a week phone call, if you were lucky right now it's constant, you know, texting and Skyping and talking to one another. So there's a lot of closeness and we're not against closeness what, what happens then, though, is that the student doesn't feel like, hey, I really know how to manage this on my own and haven't had a chance to practice. And the way you teach it is really by going through, you know, set of conversations with your kid and saying, hey, you know, let's talk a little bit about, you know, the way you manage your life. But can you get up in the morning and manage your day? I mean, I, I run an ADHD program at Penn, and I got a phone call from a parent a few years back saying, hey, you're the director of the. HD program. My son is coming depend. I said, great wonderful. Congratulations. She says, do you have a wake-up service? I wake up service. Yes, my son can't get up without me getting them up every morning. And so what I I said, listen, we don't have a wakeup service. But I think it's really important that he learned how to wake himself up before he gets college. So that's really what we're saying is learning to manage your life learning to do things. More on your own without constantly checking back and asking for someone's help and also being able to handle things like the risks that college brings and being able to handle social relationships all those conversations, parents and kids really need to have in an open way. So there's a level of helping your child, that's maybe too much help. Exactly, and it comes at a cost right because. Yes, we're giving our kids, everything we have and we care about them, right? But at the same time, what's the message? It's oh you need to succeed or else. We're we're going to really get upset. I think if the message from apparent to kid is like you may not know but we expect that you'll be able to figure it out. Let's see. What happens is different than saying you better do this. You better know that you'd better not mess up, and that the anxiety itself is part of what we want parents to deal with their own anxiety, and then being able to let go in a way. That's more feels more natural. It's okay to not know
