We're going to get you alone. Because alone, you lose And now I finally feel okay. And feel like I've got some strength. Interesting comment with Diane Sawyer, their Matthew Perry, the Friends star Chandler, of course, and you know, did you follow his personal life, all those years he was on alcohol or pills while they were doing the show. He said when I was chubby, I was on alcohol when I was thin, I was on pills, but that was his life, and about that monster doing one arm push ups waiting for him. He said this, when asked how people will know he's not doing well again, don't you wonder that about the John Mulaney's in Matthew Perry's of the world. People you know and like and champion, but you don't know. He said, if I say I'm just going to chill alone at home tonight, I'm not doing well and part two if I ever say, I'm cured. You know, I'm not doing well. Matthew quince the director of the Chicagoland for is the director of rosecrans for Chicagoland. And this is his business. Hey Matthew, you're on WGN. Thanks for giving us a couple of minutes of your time. How are you? Get your welcome, John. Good morning. So we had to be able to. I guess none of this surprises you. That is, you know that you must know. I'm asking, is this typical? Is this the life of somebody addicted to something like Vicodin? It can be, certainly, I think, given his position, I think he was, he was probably here accessibility, maybe more so than people in the general population might not have. Well, how unusual is 55 Vicodin a day? That's another fact that's just jumped out of this story. That sounds extraordinary to me, does it to you? No. That's the crazy thing about this is that I've heard many stories along those lines. That if people can find it, they'll they're tolerance will build to such a point that they're able because I think a lot of people think they hear that and they think how did they not just drop dead? As soon as they're taking that many in a day. Well, yeah. But really, it really speaks to just the power of tolerance. And him drinking a whole handle of vodka in one day, I think a lot of people would say, how is how is this body even able to do that? But I think over time, if you listen to him talk, you can hear him talk about how physically he just started to break down because of that. Yeah, well, it's sort of see it too, and the pictures we see now, but it's an interesting point you make, the tolerance, that is. I would imagine that if you took a Vicodin or two, you'd be kind of high for half a day, maybe four would be all you'd need. But I guess he built up such tolerance that four wasn't going to do it, huh? Correct. If we've ever been prescribed for a surgery, a hernia surgery or other types of surgeries, a lot of tooth getting pulled will get prescribed them. And often it's taking one that's taking two. But it can really get addictive very quickly and build that tolerance. I guess you know this too. I'm just reading from the wiki on it in 2020 Vicodin was the 16th most commonly prescribed medication in America, 16th most prescribed medicine more than 30 million prescriptions who knows how many pills. It sold under the brand Vicodin or Norco, those are essentially the same chemical compound, and it's not available in all countries in the United Kingdom, for instance, they won't prescribe it. It's not available there. What should we know about that drug? Like, I presume it has legitimate uses, right, Matthew? Absolutely, but it's really meant to be more of ideally it's really meant to be more of an acute pain tolerance management piece. For somebody that maybe had a surgery where for the first day for days, there is just an extreme level of pain. It's really just meant to kind of make that more manageable and then transition to something like advil or Tylenol. But I think and I think if I'm not mistaken, I think part of his story was that I was just kind of reviewing some of that and I think you got to that jet ski accident. And you hear that so many times. If somebody has those predisposition, they have the genetic risks for addiction or they're already maybe developing the problem with alcohol. And then you get prescribed this medication. I think a lot of people aren't aware of what that can quickly turn into. It can really just accelerate that addiction piece. He was drinking every day at 18 first started drinking at the age of 14 and described his first pill, he said, as crystal clear as if it were yesterday, it was like he said warm, honey, entering my veins, does do some people react differently to a Vicodin than others, some people go, oh God, I got to have this forever. And other people might appreciate its effect, but they're not going to fall into addiction. Is there any way that you all know who's who before they give the pills? I think a lot of it is just similar to any drug. It's looking at the profile of their family history of addiction. Their own substance use with drug like alcohol if they had problems with alcohol, they had problems with many other drug. He drank in his teenage years, so that was kind of that age of first use. All of those risk parts of that risk profile are going to determine whether somebody is going to potentially have that type of reaction to it or to become dependent on it like that. Do you have any advice for people who are prescribed Vicodin? What would you tell them like? Okay, you've had surgery or in an accident, take Vicodin. What else should you? Tell them. Generally speaking, don't get it refilled. Unless it's unless it's more of a chronic pain condition. And even in those situations, I would really encourage people to look at other means of managing pain instead of those type of opioid medications just because they can become I know for me personally I had a hernia surgery and I've told this story a number of times where I think it was maybe just three or four days I was taking Norco as prescribed and then I decided you know what? I'm going to go ahead and stop this because I feel like the pain manageable and I remember when I started I literally thought to myself oh my gosh I'm starting to get the flu. I had never experienced something like that before and put two and two together and realized that that was kind of the mild beginnings of that with those withdrawal. It just shows you how quickly that withdrawal in that physical addiction can come on so quickly if you don't if you don't really try to wean off it as quickly as possible even if the pain is there to really try to as quickly as possible. We not to something else that's going to be less have less of that addiction potential. That's all the time I have Matthew, let's talk again we do a series of podcasts with our friends from rosecrans and I know you've been featured before and probably well again Matt, it's a good hear voice today thanks for your thoughts. Mike Gallagher Celebrates Early Birthday in Las Vegas
"But after the long weekend I had in Las Vegas, Las Vegas to sort of celebrate my birthday with some dear Friends of mine. A little early birthday by a couple of days. And let's not talk about my birthday. I hate my birthday. I hate birthdays in general. I get in trouble because I forget my Friends. I forget my family. To me, I remember years ago, Eric Hansen, who's been my loyal operations manager for over two decades, used to take his birthday off. And I thought that was the craziest thing how anybody would take a day off for their birthday as an adult. Now if you're 14, I don't know, but people take birthdays very seriously. I dread them because it is a reminder of my grim march to the grave. I don't feel almost 62. Some days I feel 80, some days I feel 29. So good friends of mine, peg and Joey Hudson said, let's go to Vegas. We'll see Lionel Richie. And while we're there, let's carry Underwood. She was great Friday night, Lionel Richie, not so much because he canceled as we showed up to see his performance, which is something that would have been like a bucket list. Can you imagine seeing Lionel Richie in concert? He had a bad back. I literally said to the guy blocking the entrance when being told that Lionel Richie had a bad back, what? He can't sing with a bad back. What's in his back four to sing? I did shows in a hurt with a hernia. I did radio shows in my bed. I didn't say all that to him, but you know me. I'm selfish, and I'm impatient. And I'm instant gratification, and I wanted to see Lionel Richie, but we still had a great weekend, stayed at the Trump international hotel, great story from the Trump hotel, places packed, beautiful hotel, the Trump store, they can't keep Trump merchandise on the shelves. The lady told me as soon as they ship it in in the morning, it's gone by the end of the day. I would t-shirts, baseball caps, Trump golf balls, Trump paperweights, and people, you know, I'm sorry. Americans love the guy. And Americans are ready for a return to normalcy. Not just politically, but I've got to address this. I got to address how different Vegas is from so many other places, New Yorkers would faint. At how people in Las Vegas behave.

"So what is carp cycling? So it's like you can whatever body type you have or however you choose that you want to do this, you can have carbs one day and then the next day not have carbs or have like carbs for two days and then not have cars for the next day. Okay. And it is just basically like you're dumping carbs from your diet. Yeah, you're eating less carbohydrates. I guess, I guess that makes sense. So because I'm never gonna cut them out. Yeah. You know? I've never, I'm always gonna eat bread. Yeah, I'm always gonna eat like, have some snacks and things like that. So it's like for me to say, I'm gonna be super healthy and never have carbs would just be dumb. Yeah. Well, you really can't do that. I mean, it's hard, but I actually it's weird. I started doing that like maybe a month ago or something like that and Rebecca that's where these fucking nuts and stuff came from. She's making me these snack packs and stuff. That's good. 'cause otherwise I just eat the shit that's here or dude, I eat a ton of sugar, so. This is, this has been this has been good to switch it up. But I've been kind of doing that like cutting it way back on the sugar and the carbs and stuff as much as possible. But I don't know when I don't have the prepared meals. It's kind of harder. Well, then thing I noticed about you is that you eat a ton, but you eat like a little bit throughout the day. Yeah, like a rabbit? Yeah, like a little snack, a little snack little snack. Just a little snacker. Yeah, yeah. That's all I am. But you're saying good shape and stuff, so it feels weird to not be able to exercise though. Yeah. Because have you been doing a lot of exercise before? Yeah. Yeah, a lot more like biking and stuff. I think once I realized that I did have a hernia and that I could no longer ignore that my fucking whole entire right side of my abs was like in pain, bulging out and stuff too. No, I didn't have any like bulging or anything like that. So you didn't see it. Different kind of hernia that I had. Yeah, it's an inguinal. So like, but I definitely had something it definitely is impacting my right side because I would do jiu-jitsu or do a workout and I could just feel like my right lower abs just were like strained or something like that. So I've been switching just to like bike riding and like push ups and like there's body weight stuff. That's because I feel like I kind of, like, slender out almost. It's like my grandma's worst nightmare. She's like slender. You're getting so skinny. Are you skipping meals? Yeah. You're not eating? Yeah. Why'd you pick carps? Well, I don't know, I don't want to say, but no, and I'm not even like that serious. I wasn't really that serious about it. But then I just started doing more cardio. And I've never been really wanted to do a ton of cardio. Yeah. You tried to you tried to go against your body type for a while. You tried to be like a bodybuilder type. You're not really like eating. I'm a protein. Yeah, I'm a skinny guy, and I guess we would call it an ectomorph. And I got it from an ectomorph. That's what a mess and more for us. I'm a messenger. Why don't we dive in? I wanna hear more about your story and how you got into functional medicine and teaching. Let's start there. Yeah, absolutely pretty, pretty good place to start. Yeah. It's been a wild ride. I constantly with each passing year kind of reflect more and more on this journey that I've been on that really started when I was 17 scrubbing toilets at lifetime fitness and I had navy seal aspirations at that point in my life. So when I turned 18, I went through all the testing and everything and qualified for the navy seal program. I signed a 6 year navy seal contract and to make that long story short, I was about halfway through boot camp for spec ops and they found Ida in Guido hernia. They deemed it a preexisting injury. So I was medically discharged. And I don't think people realize, it's actually not that easy to get into the military in the first place. I mean, you have to have nothing wrong with you, spotless record, no drug use, no injury, no psychological issues, just nothing, you have to be a blank slate. So they'll scrap you if there's really anything wrong with you. And that was the case with me and several of my boot camp buddies. One guy had like a kidney issue and he was peeing blood, so he got kicked out. Wow. And you know, as a young man, I was just a kid trying to figure out life. Like, all right, I just graduated from high school, what am I doing? And I had had these navy seal aspirations all through high school, and that was kind of the sole thing that I was working for. So to have that taken away, you know, kind of against my will, it really felt like an identity crisis in a lot of ways. So I spent about a year trying to get back into the military and you know I was trying to get medical waivers and exemptions so I could get back in and recruiters don't care. That's an impossible paper stack to try to push. So nothing was happening. And I was starting to struggle more and more with my mental health and I think whereas in high school looking back as high school kid you don't have any perception of what is mental illness or depression. You don't have any perspective. But looking back, I probably would say I was like a high functioning depressed young man. And I think that's why I was so hard on myself and why I was pushing myself to do the hardest thing that a man can do, which has become a navy seal. And I think there were some self destructive ideologies that I wasn't really aware of..

And, you know, I had I don't want to gross anybody out, but I had somebody put a scalp in my eyeball Monday. That takes a certain amount of like, I hope he knows what he's doing quality. And that surgery is the most common surgery on the planet, you know that? Really? Yeah. Yeah. Cataract surgery. And it's one that has been given as a gift to less privileged people around the planet because this is something that as people are aging to get cataracts and then if you're living in some village somewhere, you just go blind and then you're blind person. So the fact that not only could he use that scalpel and even without even really hurting me because sometimes you have to surgeon has to hurt you. "To one team for their help. Creating these podcasts. Because the hernias are so uncommon. Diagnosis can be challenging and frequently delayed but understanding the regional anatomy and presenting signs can help facilitate prompt diagnosis and treatment. As an overview after listening to this episode learners will be able to define lamar describe it anatomy of lumbar hernia outlined. The clinical presentation of london hernias describe the diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with the lumbar. Hernia we are going to be looking at the case of mr peter. Mr gary peter is a fifty eight year old man presenting to your family practice office. He complains back pain and a bulge in the flank. Okay keep mr peter in mind as we go over the definition history and anatomy of lumbar. Hernias what is a lumbar hernia. A lumbar hernia is the protrusion of intra abdominal contents through a defect in the pasta lateral abdominal wall. Now let's over the history of lumbar hernias. The first publication describing a lumbar hernia was in seventeen. Thirty one by ranjit. The first surgical repair of strangulated lumbar hernia was performed by rabbi tom. In seventeen fifty. Interestingly the relevant anatomical landmarks were lumber hernias occur were described after the first repair in seventeen. Eighty three when petite defined inferior lamar space and then in eighteen sixty six when grenfell described the superior lumbar space since then about three hundred cases have been reported in the literature making this an extremely rare type of hernia so rare that a general surgeon may only have one opportunity to repair lumber entire career in order to appreciate lumbar hernias. We'll discuss some of the regional anatomy. Lumbar region is bounded superior -ly by the twelfth rib mmediately by the erector spiny muscle inferior leaf by the crest and laterally by the external oblique muscle the layers of the lumbar abdominal wall from superficial to deep incurred one skin too superficial fasha three superficial muscle layer comprised of the logistics dorsey and external oblique muscle for the raca. Lamar fasha five. Middle muscle layer including the sacred spinal internal oblique and saratsis posterior inferior muscles. Six deep muscle layer containing the greatest limbo room and so is muscles seven transverse sales fascia eight. Prepare to kneel fat nine peritoneum. The lumbar region contains two well defined areas of weakness the superior lumbar triangle known as grenfell triangle and be inferior lumbar triangle known as petites triangle petite triangle is inferior and borders can be remembered by thinking. Petites triangle lies lower l. i. v. l. for logistics dorsey. I for ilya crest for external oblique. Grunfeld triangle is superior and the borders can be remembered because grunfeld sits superior -ly s i t s for sacred spinal muscle i for internal oblique muscle t for twelfth rib in addition to superior and inferior lumbar hernias. There's also a third type known as a diffuse lumbar hernia as the name suggests these occur diffusely and are not limited to a specific area of weakness and are caused by a combination of trauma infection or poor wound healing. Now that we know a bit of the relevant anatomy for lumber hernias we can return to our case before you begin interviewing mr peter. Take a look at his past medical history. Mr peter has past medical history of hypertension manage with single agent anti hypertensive dyslipidemia requirement. Stanton and type two diabetes that he controls with oral hypoglycemic. he has no history of trauma or surgery. He has smoked one pack of cigarettes a day for the last thirty years drinks alcohol socially and works in chef history of cancer or familial diseases his married liz with his wife and has one healthy adult child. His chart also notes that he has a backlight diagnosed five years ago but has not been treated clinical presentation. now we'll go over the g. and clinical presentation of lumbar hernias. These are rare once in a career type of hernias they tend to occur more men and women and between ages fifty to seventy years. Old twenty percent are congenital. Due to a defect in the development of the posterior abdominal wall or musculoskeletal system. They usually occur as isolated congenital anomalies but may be associated with low-cost vertebral syndrome cred organism and anal rectal malformations congenital. Hernias more often occur in the superior lumbar triangle. Eighty percent are acquired and can be subdivided into primary and secondary lumbar hernias. Fifty five percent are primary or spontaneous and the risk of occurrence is increased with older age. Chronic bronchitis intra abdominal pressure debilitating chronic disease extremely loss or strenuous. Physical activity anatomic. Mary ation is thought to contribute. Because short obese individuals with wider hips and more horizontal ribs have larger anatomic triangles in addition young athletic woman. More commonly have petit triangle. Her yes the remaining twenty. Five percent of lumbar hernia are secondary usually due to surgery or trauma surgical incisions that transact earns enervating. The abdominal wall may result in muscle atrophy and weakness that can manifest as a lumbar. The most common associated incisions are those for reno or adrenal. Procedures or abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs traumatic causes include a belgian of soft tissue and muscle from bony attachments. Crush injuries fractures. The elliott crafter elvis or sudden increases in intra abdominal pressure. Such as high speed motor vehicle accidents. Now you go into see mr peter. What else do you want to know about his presentation. You go through your usual history and learn following. Mr. peter has a ten year history of back pain he treated with over the counter analgesic and physiotherapy without resolution. He says that he has never brought this up to his family doctor because he thought this was a typical back pain but recently his wife has encouraged him to discuss this concerned since noticing that the bulge in his flank has been getting larger over the last few months mr peter states at the flank bulge decreases in size when he's laying supine. He also thinks his postures worsened. He described for pain as a dull polling sensation that only appears while straining or coughing when the pain occurs is just under his left ribs and lateral to the sacred spinal muscles..

Start off what is an area and what is the relevant anatomy may be helpful to look up some images online as we review. The anatomy on hernias are a type of pelvic hernia. That travels through the arbitrator. Now the entree canal is a small opening in the superior part of the operator membrane that covers the frame. The trigger for raymond is inferior to the acid on the palace. Small elderly woman presenting signs of bowel obstruction without previous surgeries. She has abdominal pain. Fever and change in mental status. What about missing house presentation is suggestive of an operator hernia going over the clinical presentation of trainer hernias first off on trade. Hernias are quite rare with the historical incidents of about zero point. One percent of all domino wall hernias so most general surgeons will only repair in oxford or her two or three times in their career. Despite their rarity alternate hernias mortality rate. About fifteen to forty percent making them one of the deadliest abdominal wall hernias. This is thought to be due to a narrow neck of the hernia making them the high risk of complication and that they occur. In frail elderly patients who are often poor surgical candidates untreated hernias occur almost exclusively in women with ninety five percent of arbitrator occurring woman. Typical patient with arbitrator. Hernia is a female seventy to ninety years. Old prepared fat and lymphatic normally cushioned operator neuromuscular. Bundle tell prevent herniation as such oxygenated ernie as much occur in very thin elderly woman with a bmi of thirteen to nineteen. I'll treat hernias are commonly described as the little old ladies hernia much like our today. Altered hernias usually contain small bowel most contained alien and frequently result in richter type. Hernias remember that richter's hernia is an incarcerated or strangulated hernia involving only part of the circumference of the bow while because only one side is involved. A richter's hernia may become gangrenous or spontaneously reduce without causing obstruction. The most common clinical presentation of non trader is a small bowel obstruction. Due to incarceration symptoms may include abdominal distension crampy abdominal pain and vomiting other symptoms may include vague and nonspecific gastrointestinal complaints such as intermittent lower abdominal pain transient obstruction was spontaneous resolution. Early society anorexia or weight loss. You perform a physical exam on mrs house. What do you expect to find on exam. Ms houses disoriented. A fake really takes it personally. And he really goes after people on Dhere did a lot of media about this, too. So he's very famous. For this end, he brought in some wine experts and said here 70,000 bottles of wine that I have in myself hers. How many are fake and they just took a random sample of 3000 bottles. He kidding me? No. They said, What do you mean? Yeah, exactly. They're like, Well, bill you for this? Um they took a random sample of 3000 bottles, and it yielded 130 fakes. So I mean, he has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds by by extension of fake bottles of wine in the cellar, and that was actually That's about par with what the average Not necessarily a knish, e ated or uneducated wine buyer, But fervent vintage wine buyer would have write that about $4 million seller. About a million of it will be on fakes. Yeah, and he supposedly spent close to $5 million on fake wine. Over the past quarter century. Um, including some of those Jefferson's that we'll talk about in a lot of this one came from a man named Rudy. Uh, Kurniawan. Oh, that's good stuff. Yeah, I think I'm better than I had in my head. Would you have pretty JaJuan? Yeah, One like that Hernia. One is good on this guy was one of the most famous, um, really alongside another guy that we'll talk about one of the most famous wine. Fraud, disgusts fraudsters, fraudster counterfeiters counterfeiters of all time, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and supposedly was to pay close to $50 million in damages. Which is easily what he made by selling fake wine. Sure, in two sales in 2006, he made $36 million selling fake wine. What a jerk and it's easy to sit back and the defense team even use this in court. To say Thies air rich guys like no harm, no foul. Who cares very of your ribbon off the rich? Yes, very easy. And I even found myself kind of thinking that. But at the end of the day who It's wrong. It's wrong. It's wrong. Sure, I mean, like, I wouldn't do what I wouldn't sell a counterfeit bottle of wine. Yeah, it's wrong. It's illegal, and it's it's gross. And just because you're ripping off the rich, it's not like he's Robin Hood and giving that then to the poor, you know, having a rich himself. I didn't have the idea that he was doing that now. Plus Dave rubes who wrote this make this point, but I I take issue with it. That ultimately Vintage counterfeit wine fraud. Effects all wine drinkers because that stuff trickles down. I don't think that's true, because from reading this, there were two really great long form articles that this article was partially based on Mom was in the New Yorker and one was on Vanity Fair, and both of them were totally worth Reedy agreed. Um, But just from reading those you get the impression that those air two very different worlds that the world of like just regular wine appreciation and vintage wine collection. Yeah, form a Venn diagram that just barely overlaps, and that one really does not affect the the economics of the other. So if there's a bunch of counterfeit stuff going on In the vintage wine world. It probably wouldn't drive up prices for the wine that you're buying that, you know, 10 years old tops, So I don't think that's necessarily true. His point that we all shoulder the burden that counterfeiters do because these two worlds are so divorced. But even still like if you were a people are losing money. Reputations are being built up and lost. Yeah, you know, I get that all right. Well, let's take a little break and we'll come back and I'll talk about the two ways that you can generally go about trying to fake a wine..

The names the main factory is generating. It's I love it I have absolutely no idea how it's. GonNa, work, aesthetically might apartment. By afternoon photos of it horizontally I will say there are photos that show you can put it in your. You know which is which is good I, can't I can't think of the district is a little like a little hernia. Mainland China like it's like it's like it's pregnant, but that on the side, so it's like a little hernia on the side Damn. Had On. It would probably look like like the the disc version is off before we went into quarantine. And then there's the other version where we have A. You know we've gained the covert. We have. Got Exactly where my thoughts went to, but yeah Taylor Pooch. You know needs you can work off. You can lose weight in like a week or two. You just gotTa. Just clean eating, no beer for a couple of days. But why would you WANNA do that? The My? Now wants to chow down after snacks. I I'm totally I. This is probably one of the more surprising looking council reveals ever honestly in terms of the first impressions, just in terms of like being something that is so completely nontraditional while immediately screaming video game console at U. obviously a lot of people being incredibly productive, being like it looks like a router I'm old enough to know that this is the same stuff of intend to. We I think. Think, people like they they they get really bored when they just see a big black sideways boxer vertical box but they also don't want it to go to strange in another direction I'm actually all for it. The interesting thing to me is that people have started to lineup using the drive size and the USB size in the front. Exactly how much bigger taller it would be than the series accents obviously sinner. What it is about five to six inches taller with. Is is pretty is pretty sizable I honestly maybe could be four inches, but it's either way it's this. This is a significant size taller than the series x, and it got me looking at my entertainment center, and wondering. Where is GONNA work near to put it sideways. Put it vertical but you know we the second controller I think we kinda hoped that it would aesthetically match the bizarre weirdness of how kind of like weird future future they went with that and the white black color scheme, and they delivered, and I'm all for it. I we're you know we've got to see if there's any other colors that will see for but. I remember when the series came out. People were immediate like Oh. You can put stickers on it. You Skins on it and I. Don't know if I want to do that. This like at all like it feels like putting a bumper sticker on a Bentley. It really feels like just by looking at it that it went through so many different iterations that someone to said okay light lace just like just tear up history books and start afresh in like. Just go not so that like just a as crazy as you want. And then we'll kind of like lower it from there and I really love to see some of those other designs, because it does like we did this on the last show I think Otani use it like it does feel like it could have been a mock-up from a fan.

Tom Brady speaks out
"Right twenty years now Tom Brady has said just about nothing about anything at all he went out of his way to say as little as possible when there is a microphone in his face yeah for a good chunk of that time he was pretty quiet on social media as well but then he started to reveal more and more on social media then he became a free agent and then you couldn't shut this guy up then he started making as much noise as possible and now that he's out of New England he's practically fighting to get in front of a microphone in the past few days alone Brady is done a players Tribune piece that's like a million words long and now a two hour interview with Howard Stern and if you thought that in appearance on store and meant that he was going to completely unload on bill E. Bobby and the pats for how they treated him go ahead and re think that one wrong assumptions were made about our relationship out how he felt about me I know genuinely how he feels about me now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption that you made other than what his responsibility as coaches to try to get the best player but the team not only in the short term but in the long term as well so what I could control was trying to be the best I can be in both of those situations also so I got to a point where I was I was an older athlete and he sort of plan for the future which is what is responsibility is and I don't fault him for that and that's what he should be you and that's what every coach should be doing not that I would ever coach but you know if I'm ever in a position of authority I would understand that she I would think I really need to before that interview was I like to get his face with a game on that is a remarkable non answer even for TV forty three and I always love that movie includes this now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption this made and then you proceed to not respond to any rumor or assumption that has been made you just blow right on by you don't say or respond to Jack I mean I was a chance for Brady could have really unloaded on tele check but didn't and clearly he doesn't want to for whatever reason maybe it's because he genuinely feels like Belichick is not bad guy here or maybe it's just because he does not want to air it out in public and he didn't really seem to want to get into whether or not he thought that he deserves more respect from Billy and Bobby for what he had done again I can't do his job and you can't do mine right so the fact that you could say what I'd be successful without him the same level of success I don't believe I would have been but I feel the same and vice versa as well the time isn't there some reasonable your part that he didn't make you a patriot for life no absolutely not no because this is a part for me in my life that experience something very different here's the thing I mean it is tough to get a read on Brady when it comes to Pella Scheck and their relationship obviously it's a complicated relationship put Brady is not going to let you inside that relationship not very much so what's the point of putting yourself out there the way he is if you're not going to say anything at all a new C. Mike doing a many media tore is about getting your side of the story out there it's about you controlling the narrative you know as well as promoting yourself and your brand and this new phase your career but exactly what is his side of the story again this guy's not saying anything what it seems to me is it's like he's framing things and he's being respectful about Jack but it's nothing but love and respect right well me ask you this time if it's nothing but love and respect the hell are you doing in Tampa if it's all respect why are you still in New England and what about all the reports in recent months in recent years about how strange that relationship wise so which is it exactly is it a totally respectful parting of the ways or was Brady really bad about the fact that Belichick would not commit to him in the form of a multi year extension that he wanted because Brady says it's the former but there's a lot of smoke there it was the latter all in speaking of smoke there was the revelation the Brady drank any smoked weed in high school there was that but is it really a revelation quote what kept me from smoking a lot of weed obviously in high school you try that and you drink and go to parties but I always felt like I was letting my dad down he went on quote I do have fun in high school with partying and drinking and smoking weed on occasion but as it got later my high school life does became less and less and quote I mean I guess that's something it shows that he has been a cyborg his entire life did do was not going to Baskin Robbins in high school and asking if they add avocado ice cream that when all the other kids were baking in high school Tommy was well baking in high school at least for a minute or two I mean damn what a wild man homeboy really did get loose yeah not really then again if you don't chop it up for two hours with Howard Stern not answer any questions because how it's not having that in well he didn't admit to any strain in his relationship with the hood Tommy did admit to a strain in his relationship with his wife you know because of the long hours the resistance bands the avocado ice cream the avoidance of night shades and probably that guy Alex rubbing all that lotion on his legs the fact that it was all in during the football season then once it ended he was all in on his off the field business is the fact that he was being a pretty selfish dude and Giselle was not having that you know she didn't feel like I was doing my part to the family you know when she felt like I would play football on all season and she would take care of the house and all seven of season one ended I'd be like great let me get into all my other business activities let me get into my football training and she said they're going when you can do things for the house you're gonna take the kids to school and do that right now is a big part of our marriage that I would I had to like check myself because she's like I have goals and dreams too it's just not this you know do these things either so you better start you know taking care of things about how so two years ago as it related to your laptop off for me I had to make a big transition in my life to say I can't do all the things that I wanted to do football like I used to you know I got to take care of things in my family because my family was the situation wasn't great she wasn't satisfied with our marriage damn like I gotta stop wearing my recovery performance jammies like wow I might have to eat a tomato I mean I guess that's something sort of as much as a wife telling a husband you're not keeping up your end of the bargain do better or hit the brakes I mean not that that's some sort of crazy revelation debut I think that Tommy was taking the kids to school and doing the dishes I mean his duties all ball all day except when he's trying to convince everybody that drinking water prevents sunburn of course she was passed and then there was the admission that he did not throw to some guys that he did not trust I would say I don't have any trust that this guy can you know help us to win the game and I can definitely expressed my opinion to say if you put him out there I'm not going to build the wall because I write you know the whole team is trusting me to do what's right by the team so you can't put someone out there that I don't believe in because if I don't believe in and then it'll work was for the team home shut it down let's go home he went there if you can trust you you weren't getting the ball you know again for Brady that sounds like some kind of crazy revelation he just admitted if he didn't trust you he would not feed you damn homeboy is ruthless no actually homeboy is like every other quarterback in the history of the world in that regard they have guys that they trust to run the right route and make a catch and they have guys that they don't trust the guys do they do trust get the most looks the guys that they don't don't it's pretty much out is ready quarterback ever however there is one thing that did come out of the interview that we did not know something regulatory the fact is he's got a nickname I nicknamed the we didn't know a nickname the comes courtesy of Matt castle by the way did you know the back castle never started a game in college sign Jerome Bettis is from Detroit anyway Matt Cassel never starting a game in college is now the second most important fact about Matt Cassel because the most important fact about castle he's he's the one who got lost Tom Brady the following now it comes it comes from a gaming six when Brady suffered what was ultimately diagnosed as a sports hernia go ahead ask because like like one side looks like I would say like an orange and then the other side was normal and I was like something's wrong here thank you thank Dr Brady something's wrong here we just jump in there what's your first and the fact that one testy was normal and the other with the size of an orange art Modell things you want to get that checked out Tom as you might imagine the fellas in a locker room we're not about to let that go my backup time capsule turn pictures of me like with this once you step on one thank you guys

Maple Leafs Star Mitch Marner out at Least 4 Weeks
"Leafs without Mitch. Marna right now. He's going to be gone for a month after he got kind of tripped up off of center ice face off and mocked up his ankle. So that is going to be a big mess for the leafs who are just playing okay this year or is it or is it. You know. They're not they're not doing that. Great Steve with all this talent it so I'm not saying whatever bench him but like the leaves aren't they're not doing what they were expected to. Oh God no no. You'RE GONNA Invest Thirty four four million three guys. You're kind of expecting the world a lose tonight to the New York islanders five to four Toronto's record nine seven and in four so that actually lost more games than they've won with the kind of payroll they have shame. Shame right now. They're holding onto the second wildcard in there by a point as we record this Sousa Recording and I noticed that Toronto is out of a playoff spot. That's the return of the Blue Team. Elimination Watch don't you
Hospital Price Transparency
"Visit Dr Michael Wilks with a second opinion obamacare requires hospitals to list standard charges for services. It wasn't until earlier this year that the federal government actually started requiring that hospitals post their prices so that consumers would know the real charges for tests and labs and procedures will hospitals didn't like the proposals because it would level the playing field allowing people and insurance. Companies and employers to compare services on cost so the hospitals have done what hospitals often do they tried to throw up smoke screens and blocked the policy. Will it turns out that this is one one part of Obamacare that the trump administration actually likes so the policy was enforced starting earlier this year hospitals must be delighted because this price transparency policy has. Has turned into a joke. I recently had my medical students. Look at the U._C.. Davis and U._C._l._a. price postings what are called the charge masters will my students universally agreed to price listings. Things are completely unreadable unsearchable and unintelligible the web pages are encrypted in medical billing abbreviations that make no sense to a doctor or nurse. Let alone consumer. Different hospitals use different terms so there's no way a person can compare one hospital to another the posted charges do not include the price of the doctor so it's a little like buying a refrigerator and not getting being the total price but being told the price list for component pieces for the condenser for the door engines for the ice maker and the like. What are we supposed to do with that information? A patient scheduled safe for outpatient hernia. Aena surgery might look up the price of the surgery but not be aware that it does not cover the cost of the surgeon a surgical assistant or the anesthesiologist. My guess is that the actual price of the surgery is at least double what is posted on the web even if patients could get accurate data on charges would it lower prices will on the one hand are economists who believe that cost transparency will lead to greater competition. Titian and lower costs however there are also economists who argue that medicine is different than say buying a car where there's lots of choices and lots of information in healthcare there are usually few choices and those are further limited but the type of insurance you have research suggests that people do not WanNa price shop when it comes to healthcare they want quality and they expect fairness. Unfortunately that is not what they're getting procedures. Here's drug prices and x-rays can vary by as much as tenfold from one hospital to another for no apparent reason now all of this is fixable if the legislature and governor's wanted to end it.

Hours before UFC 234, middleweight champ Robert Whittaker pulls out of main event with hernia
"Once again, a hernia forcing UFC middleweight champ, Robert Whitaker out of his title defence against Kevin gas delimit UFC, two thirty four that came just hours prior to their match up in Australia. Huge blow for Whitaker who was again forced to pull out of a title defense on home soil in February of two thousand eighteen is well also due to injury UFC president Dana white stay now you were just with Whittaker at the hospital. What kind of update can you give us about his health? He's in the recovery room. I was with his wife and his family. This is one of those freak accidents. Where the doctor said literally never seen this type of injury in a young person. This usually happens to old people as is bowel and his intestines didn't happen yesterday. After the fight. They think he's had this problem, and it's been going in and out. And it's one of those situations had it popped out during the fight. It could have been fatal for him. So this is really serious. Hopefully, we don't know exactly what happened with the doctor, hopefully, they popped it back in and sewed it up. And if that's the case he'll be four weeks. But this was this freak freak injury less than one percent are doctor here at the UFC who's been doing this for thirty years has never seen it ever and his in his career and not in a young person. It's usually in much older people's well, thankfully, it was caught before something even more dangerous happened. I'm certainly disappointing for him disappointing for Calvin gasoline as well were you able to speak with the challenger? It's disappointing for everybody. You know, I've I've only text with Calvin and talk to him. Talk to him when he gets here tonight. But yeah, obviously, everybody's disappointed gasoline later claiming that he should be champ.
