Katz Kiely Talks about how frontline.live helps the NHS with PPE and why they have open sourced the platform.

"Can you tell everyone is listening. Walk is frontline live and then how you first came about forming it. 'cause you did an amazing campaign and support early in the lockdown so what frontline live is an online live data mac which means that any healthcare worker here is on the front line who finds themselves short at ppe. And therefore is at risk of getting ill can either tweet a request using hashtags hashtag frontline map. Hashtag the postcode so we can make sure they're actually at a healthcare organization not just collecting. Ppe reason and then hashtag what it is they need or they can fill in an online form of frontline dot live and we will then do two things one of them. Put a dot opin on a digital map so that people can see with the need is but also now because of a new partnership two other organizations the healthcare workers association and met share supply drive. It means that we basically have a warehouse of free. Pp which all partners of what rated long and hard for by raising money and getting donations. And because of a partnership with hermes it means that as soon as somebody on the frontline requests vp. Because they're shows of it we can get free p. p. to them within forty eight hours. How did all of this started happening. I moved back to my house in sheffield so in lockdown home alone on zoom call with a friend of mine who is a senior us. I'm saying i can't get a delivery. I'm gonna have to go to the supermarket and she said okay. I can do one better than that. I'm going into the hospital tomorrow. We don't have any masks of probably be dealing with people with covert line flown. Can you imagine that feeling so then. Of course i became a little bit hyper aware of this particular problem. And because everyone on every social media channel that doctors nurses health care workers saying we have p p that's bound on the other side there's this incredible uprising of entrepreneurs who assisting forward money three d. printing visors. That's companies like brutal and burberry. And i'm barbara who've pivot their entire system that can make pp to give away so we've got people desperately in need and scud going without pp's any of us would put up with and people are trying to solve the problem but they couldn't see very other were and so then. I hear on the news one day. Burberry making scrubs. There's an nhs trust because they didn't have to contact burberry have had to go through some ministers in the government to ask them how they conduct bribery. Oh for goodness sake. This is ridiculous. Because i'm all about technical innovation so i thought it can't be that hard surely to find a way of making it easy for people on the front line to say i haven't got this so that people who've got supply can get it and quickly. Yeah that was my beginning and a guy who used to work with who used intel is at ucla now on run did to him. About how hard would it be for us to be able to collect data and put it live on a map so that people can see what's going on and we chatted for awhile for about an hour and then i didn't hear anything back from him midnight that night i get any email. He's already got his team on it. I'm like oh so then fast. Forward six weeks. I've had about fuzi. Volunteers who've sat forward the most incredible people people who well known in the industry. People go better things to do with their times. they busy. Who sat for just getting this. Were absolutely and we're going to make this happen so six weeks later. We launched the service in the first three month period. When all of this stuff you're talking about how they've got. The timelines has stepped forward giving his full page. Spreads is giving us full page. Adverts ocean outdoor gives us sixty with the biggest digital out of home screens across the country. So we can put stuff out there. Not one penny changes hands. A snapchat talked to the general manager. he goes. Yeah wherever we can do to help. We'll do a national campaign. you give gives your assets. We'll sort out view. I have never in my career. Repos talk about purpose and actually fears purpose. You will look forward to enjoy getting out of bed in the morning. But i've never seen anything like this in my life. The sad side of that is that the nhs in my humble opinion and i we were talking about this before. It's the jewel in our crown. It's something that we should be quite rightfully proud of. And then by an example we partnered with united health who have about one hundred thousand frontline. Health co worker members talking to them. And i'm saying i keep hearing stories from people on the front line that actually the idea of people tweeting their requests is really difficult because nobody does speak cow and people are being told not to use the service from my mouth. It being told not to use it. Yeah people are being told if they speak out about the fact that appea- shortages they will lose their jobs. Assist crazy if you can't do your job one wi fi. Find another way to do it. That's most entrepreneurs will okay. I can't go x. y. And found a way round it exactly and the system should be set up in a way. This is about somebody complaining about something. It's if you don't have you're putting your life at risk. Six hundred forty doctors nurses have died. Because there isn't enough got enough. So basically i'm finding out it's absolutely known as endemic that people inside the nhs all tolls not speak up about things and told they will lose their jobs so we moved it from just twitter to having a fool where people could Report anonymously if they were too scared to speak out off the fifteen hundred. Ish request for p. P. i reckon about eighty percents of them were done anonymously by people who was scared to speak out and some of the comments they left on those forms. Joss person frankly interesting. We've been up from. You has improved or got worse vitton. What's your gut fail. It's been interesting because there was a point where there was a story or other media about the fact that management we're turning healthcare workers to be quiet and then matt hancock said in the commons. This is not true. people will be protected. It's definitely from my perspective. People are less likely to speak out and obviously we had a bit of downtime where we registered frontline is a charity because there weren't as many cases and he gave his time to consolidate and build townships so we decided in september. Do a to find out whether or not people in healthcare organizations feel confident. They're going to have enough p. p. to see them through over this next crazy time which is become crazier guess. How many percent said they felt fully confident. They'd get enough. P p twenty eight. Wow wow wow wow that super-low eight percent of frontline healthcare workers believe they will get enough to keep them safe during this time that scary as a number. That's scary.

What's Happening In The UK's Mental Health Wards Right Now?

"Today. We're going to be trusting to john. Barry waldren is a staff nurse at some time trees. Healthcare and the host of the podcast. This is actually the second time we've been chatting to him. We had shot to him back in september last year. If you want to listen to that original one it's called working in a mental health facility. So today we're going to be talking to him about what life is like in a secure psychiatric hospital during the pandemic the patients and stuff. You've been before but for those listeners. You didn't hit last episode. Could you start by telling us about your work. What you d please. Yes so. I was this time last year. Which seems like a long time ago but i'm by memento health nurse. I work in a secure mental health facility looking off. The patients have been sectioned. And i've been lucky enough to be involved in a podcast that features then patients and the stall on the story. The whole idea of the podcast is to try and reduce the stigma around mental illness particularly men with hospitals. So i think there's a lot of of misapprehensions and confusion of what happens in these places and people tend to focus on the kind of the hollywood hollywood version of what the faces a lot. Robin reality of them is so. Can you tell us a bit about what it's been like in those until this past year i've might from the start Gung three to the lockdowns and now sort of looking voted the next year well I think it's been tough like tough for everyone but particularly knows what was. I think we're now in the second. Look down on me. Personnel found the second. One way harder i think the first one we of really what we were gonna get inform. People didn't really know what was going to happen but this one we knew what was going to happen has been incredibly tough. So how's it affected patients. Because i think people might assume that if people weren't hospital denied it it might not necessarily be kind of affected by the pandemic. But can you tell us a bit about how they have been what i suppose we had kind of two facets of the immediate one really overseas looking off the wellbeing of the patients that physical health. So you know. Everybody has to wear malls because we had a look off to the physical wellbeing of the patients. You don't want the gaining tibet involvement. And i was very lucky. I war that there was no patients directly affected card but we were affected by the measures. The lockdown and its patients can leave But i think probably the two main aspects of the first aspect we had was we do have a lot patients that have Delusions and sometimes they're paranoid nova see if they see installed coming burn. Mosques can be quite scary and quite doing it for though i mean. It's scary in doing for us seeing someone with a moscow initially So the people that may be all struggling with a mental health. It could be worse. I realized myself how. How often i use my show expressions to kind of one thinking and you can't do that in a mosque and it's really really tough. And so that was that was really hard for the patients trying to cross that kind of aspect of it. And obviously i'd say. The secondary aspect was the lockdown measures. So law of patience. They used to have leave. You know these out to town visits a lot and during the first lockdown that will stop and that was really difficult. Yeah i'm sure Because when you're in a unit you do really rely on may be seeing parents or friends foes into kind of keep going. Don't you absolutely. I mean typically all patients. Sometimes i might be quite far away from where they original hermes and then like maybe once a month maybe once every couple of months and to have that taken away that that's really hard obviously we can still use video links and phone calls on things but it. It's still quite saying. See the person in real life. How's it been in terms of things like bed that sorry econo- shoe member if it's a is it a private hospital or a through pass the yes it is yes. So it's like a charity hospital. You have the Most of the patients in may be in patients. Yeah yeah i think. I mean plus. I've this whole thing i've been reading quite worried about Sort of the long term effect on people's mental health. But also just as it's been going on whether people have been able to to get into units house. Have you had any sort of by dave. That's all od. Just sort of. Have your sets number changed. I literally just read some interesting stuff about this yesterday. And i think admissions to mental health units things will actually be reduced over the the pandemic think they done some research where they found that people In the stolen so many initially happening people tend not to Who have a boost sometime in the mental health. But i think before and after it is where. We're really gonna see fakes. So i mean we were very lucky in terms of all admissions. Everything slow down a bit. Really because i guess What you call it. Mental health workers going to see patients megawatts. You'll maybe people weren't being referred much as much the emissions actually reduced so we were lucky in that case. But i think we're gonna see it now. I think now particularly when we're gonna see the surge if you like in people having these forums.

Marketing Strategies To Grow Your SaaS Startup With Jackie Hermes

"Kind of companies do you guys work with them? An Excel T. Yeah, so we work with B2B software companies. Mostly we work with somebody to be serviced businesses as well. We kind of evaluate them on a case-by-case basis to see I'm going to work best with and those are from pre-revenue start up that have raised, you know, a certain amount of money where it makes sense to invest in outside marketing resources up to I think our loyal client right now is about 30 million and it's private equity-owned. So we have a few private equity-owned companies in our portfolio as well great. So so I wanted to talk to a few different things with you in some of the tactics you guys are using for startups because it is a lot different running marketing for a start-up that maybe it's just building that audience verse is that company that's been around for five ten years and and people know who they are and and what they do one thing in particular was, New Jersey. Testing for for startups because you know, everybody as marketers were like you need to be testing. You need to run your split test figure out what works for your conversion, but one of life's challenges for start-up is do they even have enough traffic on a website to start running testing. So one that wanted to get your thoughts on that and and what you guys do for your clients. Yeah. It's interesting. We talked about a v testing and went in to fit for clients on our team, but we usually don't do it especially for our smaller clients because it's like if you're just gaining an audience if you have 10 people look at something it doesn't matter if you split test it or not, right because the sample size is so small. You're not going to get any information on what's really working and what's not wage. And in addition we're working with companies that are selling mostly Enterprise type software. So some of our clients are a little bit higher volume or they have contracts of 10 a.m. $50,000 a year, but when those contracts get above, you know, like Fifty a hundred thousand dollars a year. It's not a volume game and it's not you know, we're not a b testing the mises. It's like looking for getting individual buyers through the door and it becomes a completely different ball game. For example, one of our clients sells a lease accounting software into only the top 400 CPA firms in the country. So they only have four hundred prospects. And so that's a much different game than when you know, you have 10,000 not 5,000 or however many prospects to deal with so yet a hundred percent. I agree with you there totally different depending on how big your Market is. What is the minimum audience size? You need to start start running tests if you're going to yeah, so split testing on the website, I think can happen once you have maybe a few age. Thousand visitors. I mean if you could do it with less than that, and I mean there's a lot of different ways you can still pass right? You can split test landing pages if you're even using landing pages anymore. That's something that we are talking about moving away from you can split test emails. So I think it kind of is a case-by-case basis, but I wouldn't even be talking about that until you have a few thousand bucks website visitors a thousand subscribers in your email or whatever in in less than that. I think it's just a case of looking at your messaging you have an email that doesn't perform. Well, you know, like oh what part of your messaging is not working if people are opening but they're not clicking on anything that there's something wrong with the inside of your email, right? Yeah. So it's the format. It's the length. It's I mean God I see emails that don't work and I'm like, well this header is gigantic. There's nothing to click on here. There's way too much tax the lengths our way down in the email, you know, and so maybe we are dead. A few weeks later or trying something that is a lot shorter that has linked up higher in the email. So in those I think it's just a a matter of evaluating Effectiveness case-by-case versus testing against another variable. Does that make sense? Yeah. Yeah that does make sense, you know until you get the traffic. It doesn't make sense. It will take forever to get enough of em, that statistically you could say, you know, this version of the homepage converts better than that version and the time. I think would be so long that it doesn't even make sense things have changed in the world. Even you know, yeah well and just one more thing to think about how long it takes just to get one version of everything approved within a company, right, So if you're doing three versions and you don't even have enough traffic to get good data on what's working. It's just going to take longer to get that out there. I'm a lot more of a fan of wage. Getting your message out. Even if it's imperfect like get it 90% done get it out. And if it doesn't perform well understand why for your next message that's going to go. Yeah,

Delaying COVID-19 relief could do lasting damage

"We are not going to hazard a guess here about what is going to happen with negotiations on an economic relief bill the negotiations that the president shutdown yesterday afternoon, and then tried to restart piecemeal. Last night what we are going to do is deal the facts as we have them now, which is that there are no negotiations and as far as anybody knows, there is no help coming for this economy till after the election and maybe longer. So that being case two stories today on that topic, and then a political insight marketplace's Mitchell Hartman gets going with story number one the. Big Picture. Back, in March Washington sent three trillion dollars coursing through the economy's veins. One of the biggest infusions was six hundred dollars a week in extra unemployment payments to more than twenty million jobless Americans that expired midsummer and George Washington University economist J Shamba says the amount of cash going out to laid off workers cratered it fell from one hundred, ten, July two, thirty, four, million dollars in September. So there's this massive drop off to the economy and also to the most vulnerable households those twelve hundred dollar relief checks from the spring have been spent with most of the federal pandemic relief now gone. Slowing retail sales and personal spending Joseph Bruce. RSM Consulting says. A quarter of small businesses have closed. He predicts without more federal support including lending to small businesses more will fail and state and local governments won't be able to keep teachers and other essential workers on the payroll says Michael. `grats. At Columbia Law School. The loss of civil service jobs will disproportionately affect minority because they've been hired into those jobs. Bottom Line says Dan North at credit insurer, Euler Hermes, North America. Okay. Let's say we don't have a stimulus package. The economy gets pretty severely damaged in the short term probably for five years to get back on. The burden falling to families that are running out of time and money says Columbia's Michael `grats people are facing eviction. Difficulty paying for food and lodging. This is a desperate situation. One that the chaos in Washington isn't making any

"I hope. Nobody you just mentioned. That you were thinking about other Brooks, and that's unfortunately are really for today at least my last question because we are already at the end of our Indians Day. Bud. What are your future plans to four near future lists? Say Order. Maybe not Sony Future. By books or maybe other projects that you would like to share with our audience. So. One is with burned auto. Who is a scholar of magic in enteric? And so we're working together on what we think may be the first survey of. Practicing Magicians. To. Find out what they actually do in also. What works for them? What doesn't work? So that could turn into a book which were roughly thinking about is practical magic like what a what a contemporary magicians do today given that we're in a secular world. Why why is it working for them and there's. Some sort of rooted has never been done before I know. We're not aware of surveys of this. Because, it wouldn't occur to a typical academic to ask people who are actively practicing magic. What are you doing? Why does it work the other thing that I'm asking demographic? Questions to like we want to know what is your day job. Can, you make a living as a full-time magician. Maybe not, but but we don't know took. That's why we're. We're asking these questions, so that's that's one direction as practical magic I know that if if we write the book, we could write two books. Actually one would be a scholarly book because there's tons of material that can go in there and then and more popular version of it. This other line I'm thinking of is. Part of it is I'm thinking that Einstein was right when he was objecting about the idea. A God doesn't play dice with the universe. Right so the fundamentals of quantum mechanics says if things happened with no cause at all, yeah? At bottom. That in turn gives rise to nihilistic perspective of, the universe. And I know the college. Students become upset when they started. Incorporating that into their world view because nothing matters. Everything is pointless. Why bother to do anything? It's all going to run down and trump. He's GONNA kill. Everything died. As the end of it is, there's no meaning anymore. But what if Feinstein was actually right? What we see as a causal. Actually does have a 'cause. If you take an idealistic perspective. That actually begins to make some sense. Right, so you can even science and say well he mocks. Principle is saying that gravity permeates everything in the universe, so nothing is really separate. The Quantum mechanical point of view with the same thing entail moment is everywhere it. It may even create space time as far as tell. In which case the entire universe is over the a single holistic object. In which case you can't have anything that's separate from anywhere anything else. So in a laboratory when we're studying. The effect of mind on matter. One of the popular targets that we use a random systems, because they're easy to understand statistically, and because when you think of the amount of energy, it takes to create a random bit that goes one versus zero. It's almost infinitesimally small, so it's a good target to us. Maybe what we didn't see as a random movement. or even, as noise in physical systems is actually the effect of the rest of the universe. If the rest of the universe involves consciousness which I think is the case. Then the things are getting shoved around all over the place all the time by innumerable minds and intentions in beliefs in whatever. Just the whole the whole Shebang. Figuring out a way of both testing, that is not so easy, but what? They're all kinds of interesting challenges out there if we can move in that direction and extra show. That Einstein's complaint was actually correct. and. That some forms of randomness that we can now demonstrate, and I'm working on this now is one of my projects. Some things that think are random are actually not random after all well. That sounds really exciting. Wasted a best of luck with that, and also you other projects and was a fascinating talk. We could go on for some time, but maybe do that another time and continue at some point and thank you for your time today, and it was great to have you and wish you best of luck with all your projects. If you go on the website you can leave me a voicemail or you can use the contact page to get in direct touch with me otherwise are of course also to send me an email on info at sauce surveys dot com or go on facebook or twitter leave messages. Their feedback is one thing. I like idea sculpture criticism. I always like to hear from you about that at once again. I would also like Hugh to send me if you are a musician. If you're a composer to send me ideas about your music I always play music on. These shows three pieces in normal episodes. One piece only in the labor is episodes so I always need good interesting music which has of course some relation to the occult. Gasol teric world and to you listeners. So if you're a composer if you're a musician and you want your music to be played on this show do get in touch with me. I always like to hear it and over the last few weeks. Several of you have already done so and have been played here so we to our state I think well before we go grind away into a for books that I'm going to present to you. I want to say two things. Firstly this episode like all the episodes on the bottom report gust have chapter marks. So if you want to go directly to one of the chapters where we talk about the book or directly to the music piece for example. You can do that if your podcast player supports chapters most of them do nowadays so have a look at it but interesting second thing well. I announced to you the piece of music. We're going to hear today here and now we have already performed music by Fratto F. A couple of times on the Alzheimer's podcast and today we will do that again. Because he has written so many so interesting and I believe very good music which also is a perfect fit for our show fraud. Draft is a musician from Sweden. I don't know much more about him to be honest because he hides behind that he hides behind debt Pseudonym THAT ELIAS. He has written to me and also a couple of times and was quite happy that we blaze music. So frogger. F- If you hear this do again get in touch with me. Let me know a bit more about you if you want so. Maybe we can present doing person one day on this show so the peace. We hear from fraud. F- Today is called S. A. C. And well I can say enjoy on S..

"Down to right now in the cosmic perspective. The idea there is that the magician is involved in the redemption of the entire universe. This you find this reflected in the in the in the legends of Hermes Zoro Astor and even Christ yeah itself was clearly in pure census. Talamante magician elements as well right. Yeah Iris Christ I mean is is interesting because in the New Testament. There's you know the stories from say acts were the the demons are chased out of humans. Sin Senten- do just wind all the exorcisms he's conducting and so forth so he's working with those entities directly himself. Faustian magician is one who has lost the link with the higher mind. He writes a sort of like a middle manager who is lost his connection with his CEO. Germs but I think you know where I'm going for the he's on his own and so he runs a much greater threat of being controlled by. Here's another analogy. And think of a pack of wolves that will respect than an alphabet and so if the Alpha Wolf is no longer there in the secondary wolf is trying to deal with the pack of wolves. There's a much greater risk that the secondary wolf is going to be killed her over. Gumbo the other Wolf Swing. Yeah absolutely okay okay got. That was a that was a good analogy. Yes absolutely let's go vols. Yeah well one last question before we have to come to the end. I'm afraid already but you put in the end and I was fascinated by the end of the book as an appendix. You put a general survey of great experience and almost in a statistical way. I find it fun interesting. Why did he do that? Wh- what what inspired you to that? Well you know it. Oh my reading up on the the the the various treatments that I hadn't seen anything like a Dunya Male someone may have done. I just may not be aware of it. I don't think so. I think of some of the scholars that I respect very much work with this material. Like Jake Stratton Kenton. Those Peterson of course Steven Steven Skinner. Although I had a problem with his interpretation of young they've done tremendous work area. But I hadn't seen this kind of survey done yet but I will say that. The survey that I did in the back is very approximate two minutes to. I'm not even really going into the different sloane manuscripts per se there's there's there's grounds for doing a much more thorough survey in this but I wanted to the main thing. I wanted to illustrate or something. I'd noticed overlooking these spirits and the attributes that were given to them by the scribes through the centuries which is how closely approximate the human psyche. So for example there are very few war demons that are are dealing with you. Know War on a street his Jersey's like four or five of them right version storm demons in. There's an interesting balance of of good and bad There are many that are ambiguous. That are gray. And this is very reflective of the human the Human Psyche. So they're very closely related to human human psycho dynamics which sort of gives some credence to Alastair Crawley's words back in the early twentieth century which he wrote he was a young man when he identified the spirits of the go. Asia's corresponding to portions of the human brain. Now I am not that Materialistic and I know. He revised that the over the years You made it more subtle little more psychological than more spiritual I personally subscribe to the reality of other dimensions. Literal sense since discarded intelligences because I've had direct experiences in the myself But at the same time I believe they correspond directly to aspects of human psyche. There's there's a relationship there so in that sense croly was accurate although he was expressing it in a very crude way and in looking at doing little statistical survey they spirits. What I found was how interesting how obvious it became at that point of their relationship to the human psyche. So that's not to say that are not real but but that they're they're essentially mirrors or reflections of our nature so you could say that we are extensions of the fallen spirits. Anyone knows human nature knows it's true anyway so there's no big surprises. Yeah but I really am. I found it interesting today. Dry Salt it was a nice addition to that already very interesting and very nice book. Well fill my my final question to you is. You may partly answered that already in the very beginning of our talk. I was going to ask you. What'S UP NEXT? Because you mentioned that you were working on the manuscript about your forty days in the desert so to speak.

New 3D Printing Extruders Are Coming Your Way

"Time for US talk about Three D. printing again and there are announcements. Well actually they've been announced for a while and hopefully by now we will have some of them of a whole bunch of new extruders souders starting with one which we're GONNA be talking in detail about. I think next time around the time after the zesty nimble they're coming out with their version into and they should have shipped mid December but we all know how dot goes so. Hopefully we have them now. I've ordered three of them for the tool changer. Because the value that they sent me worked so beautifully however I will probably also beginning the second extruder that was announced earlier last year in December actually before December the three D Amirah which was originally called the Hermes. They changed it to Amarah. I wonder what else did a Hermes in three different than could be And and and While the zesty nimble comes with breath Basically just the extruder system and the cable that attached to the stepper the Humira and the next extruder that we're going to mention comes with the stop promoter. Attached the E. Three Homero is Pretty special in that it it customizes the casing of the stepper motor to have within it a dual wheeled a dual Hobday gear extra a feeding system. That has the shortest path from from the gear to the hot end. That I think I've ever seen it's really really interesting. Very very interesting design Kind of a very similar to bonte contact. The both sides of the filament have geared hob gears that are driving it also it has a very interesting heat sink underneath the fan which is designed to drive the air away from the hot end area Very innovative. They put a lot of engineering into do it. We're looking forward to try and get. Unfortunately though in my opinion they use the mid sized stepper motor versus the pancake sized stepper motor odor. Not sure why I need to talk with them more about that. I've heard that they may be coming out with a version with the pancakes is that is the smaller stack. So it's much lighter. Maybe half the weight of the mid sized stepper and in in my experience when I've switched to to these smaller steppers. Yeah the Torque is less but it's still well within tolerance and I save a ton of weight which makes for a much higher quality quality print. So we we will probably be getting a hammer and I'll be shoehorned into one of the tools of the tool changer for comparison sake. Hopefully we'll see how things go in the near future. Yeah what I don't understand about this designers. They're going to all this trouble to make you know there's all these custom parts it's quite expensive. I like the The driving you know the dual driving from both sides but Yeah but they're not the first guys to come up with that but I can sort of justify it. In terms comes of reducing weight you know keeping the parts as minimal as possible and reducing the overall weight of the extruder but then they make a Boden version of it. I don't I understand. I understand why you'd care about the weight. Convert on tech bomb attack has the same thing with the boat and version of the BMG. So possibly they're seeing themselves competing beating with the bond market. Well the bond tech is. That's just that's a really good extruder Yummy do you. Don't care so much about the weight you're looking at the. You know the dual drive live systems and this is a dual drive system. So we're hoping that is at least as good as the bond tech for their sake. It'd better be better be or they're not gonNA sell many on one thing that they like to push that you you just screw in the thermal tubes for any of their extruders I mean. They're they're hot blocks so they're volcano their V six all their different hop block designs. Pathway designs will fit to this. So it's it's pretty versatile for their for the tool we'll change your though The folks he three D have come up with bolt on parts. So that it'll go onto the tool plate however you know that's a lot of weight you've got the stepper motor for this camera. You've got the small stepper motor for the tool control. You've got all the carriages. That may be too much much. Wait for the tool changed your. But we're GONNA find out we're going to testify ourselves and compare it to a tool. That has a zesty nimble on it which only adds like ninety four grams versus nine hundred something grams quite a bit of a difference and then we have a third extruder. That was announced right before Christmas. From the folks at Micro Swiss these folks make some really Nice nozzles and Philemon Thermal tubes they've come up with a design that's a direct replacement for for the CR ten in the ender three basically replaces the entire X. carriage however again the it's a mid sized stepper that's writing in the X. Axis which can be a problem however on these machines you don't print as quickly the Mendel based where the the bed is in the Y axis which is a mental based usually you don't print more than sixty at Mac sixty millimeters unders per second whereas the machines were thinking of usually around eighty millimeters per seconds. Does it make a difference. Time will tell. We'll find out I I don't know I We may explore one of those. I'm my my gut. Tell me again. The zesty nimble may be the better approach. One thing looking at the picture that they have on their website the path distance from the actual geared feeder down into the tube is fairly long and that could become a problem in the heat sink. Looks kind of small tiny heat sink. They have to get the the stepper motor up over the the horizontal Gantry bar so that's why it has to be that far. I would have positioned at forward and reversed it. Yeah you could you could do that But then you're putting in all this weight that's cantilevered out from the the linear motion Crusades off. Yes it can be done. It's just a matter of you. Know Designing Zayn balancing out the different

Let's get started with that season now and and we will do that with some music of course fit to that Russian topic. We're going to talk about today. Famous Russian composer alleged Tchaikovsky. He did not only write symphonies operas and and not cracker but from time to time very fine sacred Crete musing and there. He often used to style so typical for his home country making his work sound like traditional Orthodox folks church music. But we're going to hear now is a beautiful piece called him off the Carribean from his liturgy of Senator John John Chrysostomos at the time. Tchaikovsky wrote this piece in eighteen. Seventy eight the prospect of setting any church church music was fraught with issues. The Imperial Chapel held the monopoly on the composition and performance of sacred music and all All approval had to be grounded by the rector of that chapel. So this work. We're going to hear the beginning band even seen penis blasphemy because it had been published without the approval of the chapel. Seems incredible when you listen to it today. Why I'm telling you all this well? Because this fact of banning in talking about blasphemy has straight linked to what Natasha Helwin. We'll have to say about witchcraft and Magic in relation to Christianity in the Russian context during the interview. So these pieces a bit over seven minutes long but please don't fast forward. You've just heard, and it's going to be our intro. Hopefully for many episodes to come. Chris had written the music behinds delete guitar originally for taraoke fifteen to devil. And he now, transformed it purposely with a form of harmony, and beauty in order to show and express that the old exa teric meaning was mistaken. Thank you so much. Chris. Also, this is the first episode where I'm joined for the interview with my co host, Leinna who I have been announcing some time ago. Welcome Lena to this show. Thanks to everyone who has given me feedback over the last few weeks. This is not only appreciated but also really necessary for me in order to develop thoughts Hermes podcast further. And in an interesting way. Season one has until now had over sixteen thousand listeners and for a podcast, which only started in mid April. I think this is not so bad. Please carry on listening and coming back to me. You can either Email me on info at salt. Termi start come go on the website and use the contact form or voice mail there. Or of course, us Twitter and Facebook where I think it is easy to find Thoth Hermes podcast as well. Thanks a lot. I'm also very happy about your reactions to our special soaraway Halloween edition. This was a first test of a different format, which I will try to present on the main season holidays, and I'm encouraged by your interest and feedback. So I think you can expect another special edition for winter solstice just before Christmas. And I hope you will like it just as much or even better than the last one. But in order to make these special edition real special again, I do need your support and your contribution. So please, send me your ideas and texts or recordings of texts and music, so they can be part of our special winter solstice edition. Well, season two should have started already two weeks earlier as I had promised. Dose of you who follow me on Facebook, no debt, by computer course, on which I'd all the interviews, writing editing, etc. Gave up after almost six years of service. I had to order new one and surprise surprise. When did you want rive? It's turned out that it was not functioning properly. So lengthy discussions with apple. And then luckily day decides to send me another new one. But that of course, took another five days also to arrive through all those into media operations, my backup got damaged and I had to restore things partly manually. Luckily, all the crucial data is not on a local backup of somewhere in the cloud. But all of this took lots of time. And as you can imagine I'm using my computer also for my day job, which caused delay on what I have to do there too. The good lesson was that sometimes you just have to give into what happens to you and deal with it. I did a lot more eating those days without the computer. But the bad side for you listeners was of course that the start of our new season. Here was delayed. But now, I'm not long you're going to rent about this here. We are again. Too small consequences of the delay. I need to report. In fact, I wanted to review two to Hermes website for the star of the new season as well. And I wanted to start special membership editions on each new moon starting this November. Well, this will have to wait that I kinda would work over Christmas. So please expect new beauty on the website sometime. Very early January and the first membership edition will be for the first new moon of the coming year twenty eighteen on January seventeen to be precise. Yetter thing I adapted in order to bring these episode to you finally is that I crapped today's news and review section. It will be back on our next episode. Number two, of course, which hopefully will not take two full weeks to produce and bring us back in a more regular schedule. Also, the interview with angel are today for so interesting that it got a bit longer than usual. So you will have a nice episode number one of the season. I hope. We thought food or do let's start.
