"It. And now here's Larry Elder, very evident here in the water, restating journey and teach mint hearings. I'm just curious. Were all the protesters at that protest down white and even if you weren't anybody but White, um Does it mean they were quite the promise of the people just protesting the vote? Toning Triple 8971 s a G Triple 89717243 Larry Elder Relief. Thank you dot coms to be, Don't you get it? By definition. If you're white and your Republican, and you're a trump supporter, you are a white supremacist by definition. Never mind. One of the protesters arrested is the Utah activist. A so called black lives matter. Sympathies all although the black lives matter, people in Utah say, I don't know this guy. I don't know. We don't know who this guy is. He appears to be black. He was standing next to the air Force that when she was shot He's been arrested. That change the dynamic for Chris Cuomo. Probably not. No. Getting back to the letter from the Birmingham jail. Data that letter It's April 16 1963. The same year. Ebony magazine, the most popular magazine for the black community. Monthly magazine. Get a series called if I were Young. Today. In the same year that the letter from the Birmingham Jail was written expert from which I just not read you. One of those ask what kind of advice You wanna hear? Would you give Help. If I were young today. Paul Williams. For Williams, the so called architect of the stars. Black man who Design luxury homes. He also designed the L. A airport theme building. You know that building if you've been to l A X, it looks Futuristic. You have the design that Called the architect of the stars. By the way I read about his life. When he got out of architecture school, nobody would hire him because he's black. He wrote letters to all the firms, major firms. And promised to work for free. For a couple of weeks or however long it would take for you to write me evaluation. I could use somewhere else, and ultimately, he got hired that way. Anyway. He was one of those who was asked to write. In this series called If I were Young today. What Advice would you give to black youth? Here's what he said. I'm quoting him. Whatever one does as a profession or livelihood. He should endeavor to read the current magazines pertaining to his work. One must keep pace with progress and what the other fellow is thinking and doing. In order to do this, he must read. Read read, he should strive to become a specialist and not just another architect, engineer or salesman. End of quote. Herman Moore was a federal district judge. He was asked, provide advice to young people. Here's what he said again. 1963. Broader opportunities opening up today for Negro Youth and fields, which have been previously closed to them, such as engineering and science. They're also wider opportunities to be lawyers, diplomats, judges, economists, organization leaders, Negroes have greater chances at apprentice as pretty shit. Prentiss. It ships Princes chips. Pretty ships and the skilled trailed, traded well as well. At the same time, the young Negro must prepare himself to be part of an expanding world and by accomplishment to lead and it's expanding progress performance. Is the key end of quote A Philip Randolph is the founder of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Car Porters Union, the union to wish my dad. Along when he was a Pullman Porter. Here's what he said. And I'm quoting Negro Youth must offer the future the same things that white youth offer. And they must have the faith that there is no basic racial difference in potential for achievement, moral, intellectual or spiritual. The future holds great opportunities for those who are prepared to meet and face the challenge in this age of science, technology, industrialism and social and economic and political change. End of quote. Knows anything missing. From the device. Nobody said you're a victim. Nobody said you can't do it. Nobody said racism is going to hold you back, even though that was in 1963 the year before the Civil Rights Act of 64 the year before the Voting Rights Act. Only a few years after Brown versus Board of education. Is that optimistic? They were in spite of the condition that they know existed, as described by, um okay. Now that the condition that would describe I am okay no longer exist. But the optimism the hope the opportunities Are brighter than ever. So knock it off. Now we have to invent racism. This is 1966 Remember the Tiger Woods? Hello, world commercial. Still courses in the U. S. I'm not allowed to play because of the company. No, That was fine, he said. There's still some courses in the U. S. I'm not allowed to play because the color of my skin well, a columnist from The Washington Post called Nike probably the only reason I took the call is because he had enough juice because because he's with Wapo. And he said, Give me a list of the courses where Tiger Woods can play. And the night he published this said, Well, frankly, there aren't any. There aren't any courses where Tiger Woods can we blame him? Of course, where you really want in the world. You play anywhere and the colonists. Then why are you saying this? It's not true. He said. Well, You want golf to be inclusive, and so we wanna encourage other people who are not black, not white to go into golfing. The guy admitted it wasn't true in 1956..

Now move their coaches staff. They've won a on. What Nine Years in Detroit On that Night Matt Patricia. Four twelve and five looks like he's he's won nine games in two years so I think the reason why you know to may not be the best thing in Detroit because Detroit is desperate and I mean but but if I'm Detroit I'm Matt Patricia. I'm going to the coach and say I'm going to listen then. Me Get out my five year deal. Let me win. Be Bill my vaster this year with Stafford and had my guy my quarterback come in and take over the next year year after that and look in. Judge me based on this. I mean don't drug nothing from the pack because two is a star in the one thing that while I did it. A Detroit has been trashed for as long as I've been alive. They've never been fucking good ever adver. They've been even with Barry Sanders like they were fun to watch but they were tracks. "On CBS sports radio all right guys we are back there was a fantastic conversation with Herman Moore do knows his stuff and I love how connected he still is to the lions and he talked about clearly cares cares and it's great because some of our boys in in Detroit were listening and watching right now and buddy John to sherry wrote texted us instead Herman hit the nail right in the coffin which I don't know if you want the side let's not bury the lines yet all that is not the ownership that's the issue it's the ownerships loyalty to front office people that do not know what and then use next live they're doing right he's so essentially her memoir not afraid to step up and say this is a player development issue in rice right we need this is an issue of people not knowing how to move the pieces that they've got and make that better you need to stop being loyal to you know there's not a loyalty to the head coach stopping well to the guys that are developing right that's important good point John any talked about Teo not being on the list to the great he's like that'll tell you what the list is so I think there's an F. L. network there buddy rich Eisen's involved with that and I love what they're doing I think the list is interesting and I I he doesn't love list I think they're fascinating to see how we can kind of categorize people throughout time that's right but last week they got to their receivers part of the list top one hundred Devin Funchess surprisingly left out Ron Funches off the list and Ron Funches not on that list T. O. as we mentioned Herman Moore left off of the list of top one hundred receivers of all time Randy that top one hundred players layers receipt players top top one hundred players receivers in that group how many receivers are on that list you gotta say if there's ten or less there are less I think was like six five or six I mean there should by the way they should be more receivers on that list number one obviously so he was mad D. O. was mad about this not on if it's set ups in his driveway mad or write about my quarterback smoke quarter quarterback the that man it's not not it is unfair it is unfair that's what a pack it's almost like you might yep.

"Change lives and help them further their career after serving in the military or looking to change from being our first responders absolutely something truly important and thank you for sharing that and definitely something that everyone should look into that's quick lane tire and auto center treating one uniform for another program we are speaking about the Niners before and Jim grovel others been lots of talk about him some naysayers some saying he's the best quarterback the Niners I've had since you know those Montana young you can put Jeff Garcia years in there as well know what have you seen from Jim across so far and masking you through the lens of an all pro wide receiver single player that wasn't that high or low operators me ever some expectations that this could be a player that could make some things happen but you never know when an opportunity comes you look back a few years ago and player steps and start to make some plays near the middle to the end of the season and also you go wow this guy can can actually but play at this level and on a that this league but they didn't care at all and and they'll be at the helm of leading a team that came out so explosive this season had tremendous runs last year and now here they are sitting in a position where you're talking about championship up to the weigh in at all and in the NFL it's not just him it means that their players around him that trust him and I believe in him as a player and that's what I see Moncler along can get it done I receivers making plays you writing games dole it needs to do defensively their plan aggressive in across the Great Basin made you look at this as a passing offense you're right the middle attack they're not at the top there not the bottom but they're doing enough to be sectarian because there's a lot of points and with that they do have the balance of what you see in terms of a caliber championship teams of this is this is going to be interesting run back to see what happens when you get down the playoffs with but I would you have me he's he's been that that'll one that big you can say you can attribute some of that success and that most of it or talking to Detroit Lions legend Herman Moore and Herman on the defensive side of the ball Richard Sherman he's having a incredible bounce back year after an injury that really some thought would really derail his career couple seasons ago and Sherman is putting up some very impressive number some deep analytics that show that he's having of one of the better seasons that a corner has had in quite a few seasons and what is Sherman do so well when defending opposing receivers the fact that he's a veteran defensive back he understands how to read plating those to the pre read he understands where the the the opponent is trying to do one where they're trying to go in because of that is a step ahead Missy faces receivers that on those top notch better receivers when we came in and week out and he's at the advantage in terms of his ability to be to pick off players and that these you know you look at the Texas coast defense and god they're tough against the pass I mean this is their terror number one the league given up Dale is secular leading giving up yards so you have the system played throughout not just in the secondary but it costs because line also in the second level with the linebackers play and it's a defense is playing on all cylinders are doing very well the sermon is one that he takes out that that that's a price to worry about the the apologetic play wide receiver so that's what you get out of here someone put you on the spot here for the Sunday game Niners go to Seattle they have not won there since twenty eleven they have not beat Russell Wilson in Seattle do the Niners take this one to Seattle takes is one who do you think you got what makes it tough to bet against them this is a guy that they continually selector down in there they're out of it the defense hasn't been the one that we've known in past years to be so dominant but the the office seems to have a knack for making plays in just when you think that we are out of it even during the season bait soon to be rebels back and be power relevant conversation right now it's out of to go with San Fran I think there's a lot on the line look away means they have an opportunity for home field advantage they have an opportunity for by a loss means okay they're still there but you know you go down to a fifty that becomes a little more motivation for their and at this point so that's a and I am I would lean towards will go towards that and also I love the fact that San Francisco as a they're really good defense and that can be a tough challenge for the Seahawks all rights final question for you do you have a Superbowl match up in your mind right now who you call in well you know I think ravens would be I wonder a lot of people like to see so although there holier seaside and then if you look closely you have seen this goal or or New Orleans I make would be would be a good match for the raiders yes me a pretty pretty good two pretty good teams absolutely and that has if the Niners when especially then there's going to be home field advantage in those are tough place to play against those teams yeah well Harmon thank you so much for joining us is Herman Morgan following at H. man eighty four Herman I hope you have a great rest your day and thank you for joining us the rally need to decide that was Herman more on that my gas line and now it's time for traffic.

"Best years as a receiver nineteen ninety five over a hundred twenty receptions sixteen hundred yards receiving I'm talking about and he he's going to be he's gonna be helping out at the quick lane tire and auto center ball given out scholarships at halftime I will talk about the great Herman Miller Herman Moore joins us right now Sir how you doing wonderful thanks for having me are you excited about the the ball game to it's going to be a great game Eastern Michigan and pet or it could be a really good game if you want to see a good offense in Eastern Michigan you will see a good solid defensive team and Pat this is your game sources it's a good match up the ticket ACC versus mac contender in on a good back team in eastern Michigan eagles should be a great game plus that they were gonna pretty good fan turned out for this for this particular game we got a lot of people who love that ne'er do use in the state of Michigan certainly not in the Ann Arbor side of Michigan but you think about what he did in east Lansing and made his name with those defenses and it's kind of translated what's going on a bit I mean it almost be Penn state this year at Penn state so they they've definitely have the ability to to win and win defensively yeah they do and in seven of five and it has been imposed season play and and have an opportunity to play in these bowl games over the last several years so this is becomes kind of a loan for them but defensively they have they been one of the better teams definitely will ACC but as you mentioned the you bring a coach that bring that type of experience to the table you expect that out of the team and the eastern Michigan eagles are gonna accept that challenge your coming out the back at six and six but this is their second consecutive bowl game so they're they're looking for to feel I could bring their direct cited had up to specify both teams that's what the the quick lane bowl is about start rewarding the gentlemen with an extra game because they played on a year I will try to have Easter beat Illinois this year before Illinois I kind of went on that huge run that they did but it's not a bad Illinois team that they beat so it is going to be a fascinating game just down the road from Ypsilanti so you will have a lot of Eastern Michigan people there at the game and we just can't wait tonight it's going to be this is this is why I love bowl season because you get to see these sorts of match up so I can't wait let's switch gears and talk about the NFL just briefly right now are you know you played at that time a very different time it is right now I know doesn't seem that long ago but different time in terms of the way players were protected the way offenses now and you're seeing the emergence of quarterbacks like a Lamar Jackson and and systems being molded to fit guys like that what it when you see the NFL today how are you seeing it differently than when you played it or they they they're willing to try something a little different the athletes are a little different there could be an argument made the weather not there more versatile but I definitely believe you you have some really good group of athletes that come in the positions in the side of the what eight linebacker or defensive then looks like before I has changed the the down what guys versus the stand up guys that are kind of hybrid linebacker slash defense of been rushing that you got to receivers who are just slightly undersized as tight ends but they're playing wide receiver right you have the backs of gotten bigger and stronger you know so it's a it's a game that's evolving is changing the collisions are a lot bigger but the roles that they are protecting them at a different level that if they were playing with the same size and strength back when we played I think the collisions would be even worse because we had some some some really big guys back then orders and a writing lots and in those guys a safety so there wasn't anything to sneeze at right exactly I will say about the lions lines it bringing back Matt Patricia's got nine wins the last two years has not really lived up to the billing that you hope that he would Isabella tech disciple how do you feel about the lions moving forward and how long do they go with yeah how long do they exactly well we definitely know they're going to go one more year yeah and that was made clear because there was a lot of things story here regarding whether or not you make that change right now and a lot of people looking for stability they looking for not to see this this coaching change happen so frequently but after the gym Colwell peace I think that's the little bit of a bitter taste in the mouths of some of those that will call where fans yeah and they're looking at and love the output that they've gotten for Patricia coach for Tricia and it's not adding up so I think it's leave a lot of people question right now what what is the bar you know what what are the the did the mission and vision of this team in terms of what the terms if it's a winning program if it's not a winning franchise or not I see it as this is the ownership that still hadn't changed in terms of a watch to wear anyone want to question I can tell you first or foremost is a dedicated for family when you bring in these different individuals that are bringing these changes they go after it seems like coaches that they think that instantaneously the fans are geared up to say Hey we should win right now why it is there's obviously a different plan at play here because after going to the third year it now that there's any one that would say that there's been success from what we've seen so we're open at the next year this thirty years gonna produce some results that we all should come I think a lot of people down a little bit earlier yeah and it feels like they're up against a little bit with the Vikings being so good in the Packers being so good at it they're definitely had a tough time in that division doing what they need to do but the question is what's the peace that they could prob possibly pick up in terms of drafting that could change vision because when I think about the lines that their best I'm thing about lions with good often something about lines with the Barry Sanders type back Megatron yes stuff like that I'm the and obviously you and I'm thinking about you know who is an offense a piece that they could possibly look to pick up in this next draft that could maybe change the complexion of how they're doing it's a tough one to say and here's why I say that a year we looked at even this past year there ray would pick up the slope alignment we picked up over the last couple years we we got another tied in to replace what we thought was going to work for a few prime but yet he would not be all put a Pro Bowl receiver are tight and then you get to the hawks and start out strong got injured but I think he's gonna be a good player there's real players in the on the the linebacking unit so you think you you keep plugging up the holes Mason created picks and getting flowers and getting some other guys to come in this okay we we got some some solid is solidified a lot of what we thought were weaknesses well what do you do with this year's draft you go out you're you're looking to pick up the same things you just picked up yeah in free agency yeah but so I don't think there's a is player development I think that's when looking at St are the right people in place to develop these players are the right people in place to assemble the team that is if they can take players that may not be jump ship caliber today but we get a man with our coaching with our philosophy in our system we can they'll change moved that needle kind that matter you bring in the system itself got to work that's right we've seen that so every year I mean who says face after Cisco Baltimore look at what has happened that's right the he is so I don't look at it as the draft in the savior as much as as an opportunity add on to your team and the lines you gonna have to figure out right now do they have all the pieces in place not just on the field but also in front office talking Herman Moore the great Herman Moore almost ten thousand career yards that's unbelievable you talk about some of the greatest receivers of all time with the end of the year at the end of the decade a list just came out of dot with a hundred greatest receivers of our hundred greatest players play on players of all time and they decide whether Sears Teo left off that list he not on that list what do you think about that there is no reason that he should be left off that list there's no reason for all for him but he left office at all it's not about what you like that's the thing that bothers me about this that's what bothers the upset this about the pro football spring yeah it's I don't understand that I don't even understand trouble report yeah it's just this is something that you take it like a grain of salt and this will work because everybody's gonna have their favorites the guy that played in a certain era is got they're gonna say it's different it is different and there's no disrespect to them because I think they played expeditions and what technology is totally different that put him at a much different disadvantage and develop it physically and mentally than what's on the guys have metal so it's it's it's stating that the train twenty four all your twenty four hours a day if they wanted to let you know three of six five days here so it's it's just different and but he'll be left off I mean that that tells you enough which leads us to like about the person or not agree that tells you what you need to know about list And now you can watch the richeisenshow now on direct TV on the plane as well and United so. It works. Both ways. A show. Always london. Appreciate the time. Always enjoy watching you play and keep up with all the work that you're doing. I watch you on Sundays in the morning as well as bright and early on Sundays though. Yeah. London. I appreciate the time. And have a good one. I bet a lot four time in Pro Bowl London Fletcher there, joining us on behalf of the United Airlines and direct TV. But you know, what you need those that TV on planes now because you remember before where you had no idea what was going on on that flight, whether it was four hours one hour, and who did I talk to God I talked to a player this off season. No at the Pro Bowl. That's it was a Mark Cooper. I'm we're talking to a more Cooper. And I said, you know, you got traded from Oakland to Dallas. And how were you able to handle that trade? You know, you you be what a raider for a long time your first round pick. He said, well, I kind of heard about it two weeks prior through the rumors on Twitter and everybody's at newly. Hey, you're gonna get traded. And whatever he said, but it wasn't as bad as my wide receivers coach. And I forgot his receivers coach last name was more. Member Herman Moore believe and he told me coach more got traded on a flight from Arizona to New York. He lands in New Yorker and say, hey, you just got traded to terrorism. He was like what what you don't have the opportunity to understand what's going on when you're in the air, and they didn't have internet. They didn't have the television watch. So it's a good thing. Now that we can watch TV on planes. Stay up to date when all the news. So. Man. The time has come you ready to do this? I'm ready. The time has come..

"Cards in all nine drew a forty two point one last night's overnight rating, a forty four point nine and it was close late. But it just didn't have a lot of pop. Not a lot of pizazz defense rule the day. I just because that's the way this Super Bowl happened to play out doesn't mean that. That's the way all future Super Bowls are going to play out. All of these things are different that you gotta give the patriots credit for devising a game plan that just really flummoxed and confused a young quarterback and a young play caller. They had no answers, and it was basically three and out three now three and out. They punted the Rams punted on their first eight possessions. That's another record Mark of futility for Super Bowl history. Yes. That's another record year. They punted on their first eight possessions. They never had eight punts in. Single game in which Sean McVeigh has coached them think about that. And they punted on their first date three out in five of those eight. It was awful on only eleven total touches for Todd Gurley. He says he's fine. He says he's healthy. They could never figure out a way to get him on track. But the one thing the patriots do do better than anything. Anybody else? Unquestionably is game plan. And I, you know, I don't know we had we had robbed Inc. John a couple of hours ago. You could check out the podcast if you missed and he played for ballot. Check, and he knows all about it. And yet they work hard. He said, I don't know that anybody works harder than we do than they do. I think most teams work hard. I think players and coaches do very hard. I don't think anybody works better more efficiently. Nobody game plans like this guy. And he's done it over and over again with different personnel with very few. If any hall of famers now Tyler did get in. That's one guy. We all maybe predicted. But he's never had. Hall of fame players really on that defense. This is not the eighty five bears. It's not the ravens it's not. But he finds a way to take guys and sort of mould them, and they understand their responsibilities, and he gets the very best that of them any devices these game plans that just work. It was masterclass master. He should teach one of those you have those for, you know, comedy and cooking and writing he should teach the master class, and how to be an NFL Gary Kasparov against Bobby Fischer. Bobby Fisher loses, and I hope Sean McVay doesn't disappear into the netherworld trying to fight his own mind to figure out exactly what they all happen. How did I get Bella check? And that's what happened. He got ballot. Check yesterday. Just totally overwhelmed by a guy that was one step ahead of them. Every single time. You got bell jackets good. And when that happens to you as a football coach, you start questioning your very existence. The guy can muster through it and figure out exactly what had happened to him. What had happened to him? Was he was out classed by the coach you need did not put his team in the best position to win the coach that did that was on the other side, you know, and all that being said, it's one recognition away from seeing Brandin cooks breaking free run that being seven points that being a different game complexion. But delay throw a lot mccourty time to get over there and break it up. You're right. And the other staff that we keep going back to his first of all they blitzed a lot. They blitz. Forty one percent of the time. They dialed up zero bullets at the perfect time. Because right when the Rams finally started moving the ball after the Pat scored the only touchdown, you think. Okay, now, maybe we'll get exciting and baby we're going to get a tie game. They were finally moving the ball zero blitz Goff. Throws it up pick by Gilmour. And then the game was over because they're out of timeouts, but they blitzed the lot and they played a lot of zone which they didn't do during the regular season. But again it goes back to ballot. Check recognizing something and seeing something in his Nick of told the earlier because the Rams like that eleven. Personnel group so much. They've got three wides on the field, and they can sort of bunch them up. And they run those pick plays Bella checks that we don't want to be in as much man because we'll get beat on those and they played a lot of zone it. He is the master. He is the grandmaster chess grand master. I mean, that's what he is. He he's as good at this. If not better, and he's probably better than any coach in the history of the league. And now they have six of these frigates and never to be deterred that offense for the New England Patriots. Even when there is negative yards. They haven't been them in to get into games. They haven't found themselves in a loss of yardage situated. Right. Well, there were planning to them yesterday. They had plenty of those yesterday. And they still found ways to not panic to not get overwhelmed to understand that. You know, there's going to be an X amount of positions in this game. And we're going to try to maximize what we have you know, they had the lead they were tied for a little bit. And then boom it was over. It was done. Here's Chuck on the south side on ESPN one thousand eight Chuck. Hey, guys, quick call. I think the whole world's going thought. It was a great defensive struggle. The entire game. Yeah. Great defensive struggle. I mean, would you say that was a great game though? I would her. Yeah. I was on the edge of the cow. It was. Passes and defensive Chuck with defensive execution. If you liked that self as listened voted with defensive execution, and it's not sexy. I understand it's not sexy. But for me, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed that game. Like, I said, whatever floats your boat. If you enjoyed it that that is that's fine. I I want touchdowns in the Super Bowl. But I mean, I get it whatever floats your boat. Listen, what are the the best games? I ever played on was only sixteen to twelve victory really sixteen to twelve victory that game that we held Barry Sanders to negative yards rushing. That was a defensive masterclass that day by fritzie Shurmur executed, perfectly by the fellows that were out. There would they do for field goals. Are they have a couple touchdowns and went for it? Touchdown and then took a safety late in the game. Because we didn't want to get him. The ball would a chance to score. Touchdown. They saw down is that. Right. Yeah. Herman moore. I mean, you took a safety. You think the great Bill Belichick was on the sideline. He's the only one capable of thinking of that right now. But let's taste safety been back. They still had a chance to win a game Herman Moore. And they're catching the ball in the end zone. But landed like two feet out of is that right? Yeah. When sixteen to twelve now that was a great game defensively. It was fantastic. You played game. Want to watch. Barry sanders. Thirteen carries and not get a one yard. Detroit fans. What do you mean who wouldn't want to watch it? When I watch Barry Sanders. I'd like to see Barry Sanders going wild. Now. You have a different interpretation. Stop the great, Barry Sanders. You were actually in the game. We stopped them Karm. Talking about the. The room when you talk about this show. I bet you said you hear me. Your full of energy here. My talk about the show. So we did. In the guys behind the glass, who's the guy in a copy that always says, we when they write it in his if you're listening to my show. But no, I you know, what I mean of the two of us in here. You're the guy on the field. I got you. And that's an amazing thing. Sure. But when I watched very Sanders I wanted to see him go nuts. I love taffy pools. I love games of field position. And what it's all about. I mean, that's why the Bill Belichick said it yesterday about his offense. My offense could move the ball. But when we got in the red zone, we bogged down we couldn't execute. And that's why you play the field position battle every once in a while because trying to execute over the course of ninety yards. It's not the easiest thing in the world to do. Yeah. That's a difficult thing to do. Let's go to Sean and Oriole park Oriole park. Yeah. Nabisco, sean. What's up, boys? First time caller longtime listener, thank you for college. Sean not far from the old MAURICE Llanelli closed down. Yeah. Good stuff. Question. What you guys talk about? How does he brings them resumes? Impressive with denying appearances six Wednesday. What three or four MVP's? Yeah. What impresses me 'cause old school? But I like Montana's stats four appearances four wins. No interceptions. It's crisp and clean. No caffeine. Montana. Really not having an interception in any of the super bowl's Karenin, Sean. Thanks, man. Remember that's pretty sensitive to light to Super Bowls. Like Joe, Montana's to light light at the like, T O light. Yeah. No, no, no, no. He always pretty smashed w light. And they had a couple where they whooped the opposition idea. This one of my favorite games is being on the field with Joe Montana and Marcus Allen at the same time because they're both Kansas Kansas City play them in the Monday night, or I mean, that's you tell you you don't think I had a cubby chubby going right there. You bet your sweet. Did montana. Talks trash shirk now. No, no, nobody talked didn't talk on John. Alton talk grown up. A word will shields. Never. I didn't. Even know. We'll shields was alive. You never said anything. Just played football kid on that field. The only guy that might have talked a little smack was Nick Lowery, the kicker. Why for what why would Nick Lowery say a word? I don't know. I don't know. There's a guy that deserve Joe Montana and eleven touchdowns. No interceptions. Pretty amazing. And then that she's got be rating. Oh, God forty in his career in the postseason. He was better than two to one. Yeah. Touchdown interception ratio. So he's pretty awesome. Let's see how Scott in Fairfax Virginia on ESPN one thousand eight Scott. Hey, guys. How're you doing great? How are you? I'm doing good doing good. Love the show. Love hearing your story jerk. Thank you. You know, the thing with the game is it was very frustrating to watch the if. If. If you were willing for the patriot. Here. The Rams are stopping Tom Brady and the patriots offense. And he just kept waiting for the Rams to click. Yeah. And they couldn't do anything. Yeah. You McVeigh without something up. I'm on every offensive possession. I was just watching golf, and it it just seemed like the moment was too big for them. You never came off of his I read, you know, even that particularly in that one play where he was running out of bounds. Yeah. That was bad. There was a guy opened in the middle. Eight yards around him. Engulf just never looked at him. Even Brady at one point Scott. Thanks, even Brady one point had like six seconds, and he took us silly sack. And I'm like, what are what's going on? Here was his whole sloppy holding. Yeah. But it surprising. That goff. Would you know, if that were the case if it were just too big the way he responded in that hostile environment in New Orleans? I figured he was ready for it. But he didn't look ready for it. Mcvay? Didn't look ready for it. And. Defense. He threw a couple of great passes that were dropped right to Brandin cooks past tightening. What are you talking about? Mccourty was. I the only one that was. It was a perfect throw. Yeah. Attest to catch that I'll give you that. I thought you meant the one that was a great that was a great that would have tied the game. Yeah. I get I get one of these kind of being interfered with his arm was being pulled. Yes. And his lifetime was being poor pulled it hit his right arm. Cook should should have made a one handed catch if he had to. Yes. So I mean, that's what he could've went with probably should have caught. There's no interference. He wasn't very good. That's why I'm saying when they put the whistles away the referees, really dead. They said, okay. You guys are gonna win this thing on the field. We're not just going to give you any gifts. They called interference on that. I would not have argued with that always dared them, you know, in in these Super Bowl. He's always kinda dared 'em. Let's see how involved you wanna be in how involved you wanna get. And what can we get away with? And they they've had a tendency to kind of manhandle guys a little bit more. They push the envelope. They know they're probably going to get away with a lot more. Let's go to Louis in Morton grove on ESPN one thousand eight Lewis. Hey, how's it going? Great. Because I love you guys. And you guys are awesome. Thank you. So what I wanted to say that I'm little confused about the whole topic weapon. Tom Brady at Michael, Jordan. I believe that should rephrase it and the way where you're using Michael Jordan as a metaphor, you when you when you think about Michael Jordan, you think about great things about he's he's graded at at at at at an MBA, debris despair ever played an MBA. So when you compare Tom Brady, you say Tom Brady is the Michael Jordan and NFL shitty. Compare those two sitting u Tom Brady better Georgia. They have nothing to do with each other. You see what I'm saying? So I if you wanna use his better for like Tom Brady that Michael Jordan and NFL it'd make more sense to me rather than trying to say, Tom Brady's better than Mike or something. I gotcha. One is the the George. The Tom Brady of basketball. Jordan is the Jordans Jordan. Everybody else is the. Okay. Industry better. Michael who's greater? That's the question you're asking even though they're different sports. And it's not fair. And it is a lot of Tom Brady is the Michael Jordan of football ever. Super bowl. How many guys have won five? Charles. Haley had five right here is one five. Yeah. Was there anybody else that even had that many?.

"Let's go to Mike in Massachusetts. Thanks for the weight and you're on the Saturday night show. Hey, what's going on? I actually just left the TD garden and what a disappointment, but it was an amazing game. And I gotta say Gordon Hayward just looks out of place on the court, especially in those crunch time moments in the big games. He's paid the big bucks. And man, he just it looks like it almost reminds me of like one of those joke YouTube videos, where the guy comes up the surfboard, and he goes out to the court near Venice beach or something like that. And he's supposed to be like this great player. He's wearing a surf outset. And then he just isn't good and sounds like they're like go back to the the surfing or something. He does not belong out there. And he's he's just out of place. One thing though with that horrific when he messed up his foot. You wonder if you'll ever recover from that seriously? That was the worst. That was the worst. And. Yeah, absolutely, right. You got a feel for them. And and that has to be in the back of his mind. You know, you're absolutely right about that. Your greatest of all time is Brady the greatest NFL player ever. Well, here's where I stand on that. And and I'm I might be a little biased because I'm rooting for him every game, and I'm a home or a little bit, obviously. But I think it's time to actually put them in the greatest athletes across sports time now, and it's almost like, you know, I grew up in the late eighties early nineties watching Michael Jordan. You gotta say how can anybody in my opinion, be better than him in any sport? And and Braise just one of those guys who transit eight if Jordan I mean, I don't seek he's passed him quite yet. But if Jordan is one I mean, Brady's one b. So you you have Brady Brady with tiger. And Michael, right? Oh, he's he's gotta be. I mean, if you look at it this way. Just ask yourself this. What is the hardest position in all sports? And and it, and it has to be it with with maybe the exception of of starting pitcher. But starting pitchers have so much time off, and it's gotta be quarterback. And if and if it's a mental game, and it's keeping your body, right? And the conditioning outside of the outside of the actual game itself. What he does to preserve himself and how he goes about his business. It's just it. It you see the results on the field. Great call. Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed TD garden Celtics and the warriors tonight warriors came away with a one fifteen one eleven when Hayward that anybody thinks he was going to bounce back after the video was turned around in the other direction. Brad Stevens occurred out. I still think it's about Toronto. It's about Boston. And we'll Milwaukee Bill to push their I I lean towards more Celtics Toronto who wins east and the west is just going to be a dogfight go to Mike and Michigan. Thanks for the weight and you're on the Saturday night show. Michael. Mike you there? Wake up, Mike. Go to Jason and West Virginia here on CBS sports radio. Yeah. My go would be I have to say Herman more of the lions luck at the team. He played with who he got brought to them and look at the numbers he put up if he was what Brady or some of those other quarterbacks. It'd be holding on every record. All right. Thank you Jason in West Virginia. Think about the lions they've had arguably two of the best athletes ever at their positions. And I the rice just physical specimens might be better for Calvin Johnson. And Barry Sanders in both retired early. The culture the losing the no playoff wins. No Super Bowls. No runs. They just retired. And Herman Moore was great berry. They had Perryman Herman Moore. I one playoff win since ninety one for the Detroit Lions one playoff win since nineteen Ninety-one. And they invested their future in Matt Stafford. And now you have Matt Patricia who went from nine and seven when they fired Caldwell to six and ten and Bob Quinn. And Patricia have that patriots connection. They hired Darrow Bevill the old Seattle offensive coordinator. Patricia has been talking about what we gotta run. We've gotta balance, and I never understood how Patricia came from the patriots. And yes, they don't have gronk. They don't have Brady. They don't have ballot. Check. How did you not bring the patriots offense with you? And run it quick release. That's why I'm looking at the Super Bowl. And I'm thinking about the defensive line, which is a strength of the Rams defense. And just like it was for the chargers and Brady got rid of the ball. And if you heard like Joey Bosa talking during that Showtime this week in the NFL he's talking defensive lineman Brady gets rid of it, so Vazhi so good. So I don't think that's going to be a factor. I really think LA wins in a shootout. That's the only way they can win or Brady makes mistakes, and he's driven and he's focused, and you can see it and he likes he likes his chip on his shoulder. That people said I'm done. We were all talking about it right before that chargers game on the eve of that game. This could be the. Dynasty. And I was right there. I didn't know what to expect. Well, the.

"Eight three one one point five Steve trevelise. We we got EJ pots in the studio. Matthew white in the studio we got same toil in his thirty. I'll try the triumvirate on. And we got the best to Dennis and Judi coming up at. Clock luxury beat Dennis and Judy coming up at eleven o'clock venison journey through your. We're talking about the best sports finishes and in honor of Cody parkey missing the field goal for the bears for da bears against the eagles. And we got Dave in Bennington under jersey, water one point five eight, Dave. How are you? Steve. Mine is definitely going to be Bill Buckner. Oh my God. Yeah. You know, it sucks. Here's a guy who all the three hundred batting average. She had all these great accomplishments. All he'll be remembered for. I know I'm with them on it. We did you see it live now. But I was watching it with a bunch of my relatives are from doing. And. Die hard Red Sox fans, and it was pretty terrible. Was that was that the same night is the giant giant Redskin game? Yep. That's same. How 'bout that? Now is fantastic Eighty-six would produce two champions in New York. Good good year that was and how many people claim to have the ball days about one hundred people claim they got Bill Buckner. You're going to put it on EBay to mar. Stuff. Now, you are you a Mets fan? Man casually. I'll come a little more than it's gotten hard over the years. Really really pretty. Thanks for the call to New Jersey one zero one point five year Mets fan. Yes. That's why the giants and methods. There's been a balanced the Mets is it's. It's very tough rose. Always see. I would I grew up the giants played in Yankee Stadium Mets played in. So if you were Mets and jets or giants, and yeah, I saw it became a yank my Yankee Stadium. My brother revolted against the rest of our family members you love those eighties Mets team. So I followed him. Okay. My uncles are all Yankee fans though. It was always we kind of broke off. See I worry about that stuff. Like, I when I when my sons were born. Yeah. You think about these things you say like, you know, what team I worry that like I want. I wanted my sons to become Yankee fans because I knew that they were guaranteed the see champions. I want my kids to deal with the aggravation. Father went through becoming a New York Giants fan in nineteen sixty nine and did not see a championship until nineteen Eighty-six. Did not see the playoffs until nineteen Ninety-one. Did see the back end and a lot of bad arguments between them. So I'm thinking like if you're going to pick a team for your sons, you want them to have happiness. So I was hoping they would be they would be Yankee fans because you know, there's no way the Yankees would allow themselves to win the World Series. And then you feel like for football because I'm a giant fan of a lot in common. So like, my son Albuquerque giant fan, my son Lennon, somehow became a falcon fan. I have no idea. I'm gonna put him in therapy. But I feel bad like like imagine those poor people that grew up with teams who have never seen a championship in their life. Looking at me. Be no hope of ever seen. I mean like imagine like being now. Now, the eagles after all these years finally won one, right? It was rough right now old are you? I'm twenty four twenty four so in your entire lifetime. And but you know, what the thing about you is like twenty four. Let's see the eagles got good in three. Right. So how old were you know, three? So they went to the Super Bowl and one zero five zero four zero five, but like I say a one or one they go to championship game. So you're twenty four. So you're six years six I wasn't really bad team in your lifetime. You saw like at six they went to the did. They went to the championship at seven. They went to the championship at eight. They lost the Super Bowl at ten. They go to the championship. And then they come to lean years. And then they pick it up in thirteen they go back to the playoffs. I mean you've seen good football. Brothers and sadness. The eagles and lions are just. Never win a Super Bowl. We were brothers and sadness, and you had to go and ruin it by winning the dang thing. Listen, I'm I'm not gonna say that. I'm not happy. That sounds like you problem. It's up rough problem to have you on the other hand. I mean. My hope and Matt Stafford you know, what that's like. You. Ever had a better team around. And no he'd be a good quarter for saying that because not enough people say that worship, Matt milliner. No need Herman Moore. Back armour. Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson. Nothing and a whole lot enough. See like in jersey, like the best the best the best west was it though. The best last minute finished by jersey team. Oh, Jason Arnott winning the Stanley Cup. They got one right there. We are do they're honest of like the best the best the top ten jersey finishes. We have that one in nine. It's not like a giants or jets thing. Yeah. I only have. Like people from jersey really only have two teams to choose from. They'll claim Joe flacco for the Super Bowl. How could the ravens be so stupid as to not put flacco in that game yesterday? I mean, how could they be that knucklehead that defensive back? Thank you. Don't be fair weather fans. Number eight goddess screwing his game royally you need to get the FICO took them down one a Super Bowl. You did you need to get him in that. I'm surprised he didn't play in that second half of the way was Jackson. He wasn't. They weren't letting them throw. They weren't even letting them throw saw what happened. Do you needed to have a passing attack there? And they didn't it was bad. I couldn't believe that. They wouldn't put jersey Joe in that game jersey, Joe. Ready to roll EMMY and yet Harbaugh, and nobody blinked, and it would times you could actually hear groans in the stadium. When Jackson would take the field. And then the for the teams will I get behind them. What are you kidding me? It was it was a weird vibe in that stadium. Just because of the way the game floor. It was just a really weird home game. Like the way the crowd man Philip rivers against Lamar Jackson Hole. If you pull the mar- Jackson there. What does that do for his confidence rookie start that? Because you basically say pushed around. I mean, that's why you boom listen Joe Lamar we it's been a great year. Now, you know, he admitted he I don't think you had a problem with because he would admitted that he was nervous. He was a nervous wreck in that game. Mean it's not like he won the job from flag. Oh, he got put into flacco got hurt. Asinine reason to keep them in there or not but flag go back in and fly goes healthy. Now they've given him the team. But even at that. Do you? Remember the patriot game where years ago when bozo right? John Brady gotten the job got Brady got hurt in and played quarterback for one game. And it went right back to Brady. And there was no problem. Because it's the patriot. Listen, I shouldn't talk and we've got a full full wets thing going on. Now. I don't know what's going to happen. There will come to the Janes over to the dark. Listen. I might be a false trooper. I love it. I it's time for us to get out of here. We'll talk.
