"With the news. No heard on the news. This is the headline news. I was thinking this same thing in that press conference. He is gushing honey. Everything is great. I love the way she snores. Moon well not such great news for the team that played the other la team yesterday. Washington's a huge blow in their loss of the chargers ryan. Patrick went down in the second quarter hip injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks. He'll get an mri today to determine the severity of the injury. If it is broken his hip it would up his recovery. Time mind from weeks to months. So taylor heineke will be. The starter is expected to start thursday night against the giants. He did finish the game. He went eleven. Fifteen with one hundred and twenty two yards and a touchdown against the chargers and according to albert washington believes in heineke kyle allen is expected to be the backup and they did sign. Kyle shurmur to their practice squad today. So this is. This is bad news for for washington. I think taylor taylor. Heinecke is a nice replacements. he's okay he's okay. he's a gamer. how about that. He's got the garment. You yeah gamer. He's gonna do some nice things against a team that has holes but in division like the nfc west. He would be before play team like you can in this division in this division. He can stay afloat. I do this. I mean obviously didn't know this was going to happen but i had dallas winning the division. The quarterback situation was questioned for river washington going into the season. Obviously fitzpatrick is who they wanted to start. So this is this is not ideal though. Heineke has has shown some moments. I know. everyone's going to rush to the cam. Newton solution and i. I don't think that's going to happen. With ron rivera. Wasn't there yes. One hundred percents. I would say sign cam newton right away that makes sense but i don't think that campaign ron are getting back together. We said this though there's going to be injuries throughout the season at that position and the opportunities will open. I just think this is the place where we we're one weekend and a very good football team needs a quarterback. They don't they don't think they do but biwott week eight when they lose another game to a better quarterback because that game if you watch that game yesterday it came down to just in herbert justin. Herbert made about four back shoulder. Throw yes that game was very even chargers. Got some bad calls. It came down to justin herbert. Just really good. That was the game with the defense like that. You're going to be in the game but you've got to have the other side of the ball on the field. They got to make it happen. So a very anticipated matchup between mack jones and to us. He had a solid start for his first. Nfl start. jones did twenty nine thirty nine. Two hundred eighty one yards and a touchdown no turnovers. Patriots lost the dolphins seventeen. Sixteen and jones took responsibility for his part in the loss. I think we can get better. That's just how we have to look at..

"Free. Thing is Paramount. Plus, but it's in the movie theater, and they really enjoyed it. +855 to 1 to four CBS +855 to 1 to 4 to +27. Let's go out to the phone lines. Let's talk to Kelly Kelly is calling from Wichita, Kansas, Kelly You're on CBS Sports radio. What's going on? Yes, sir. I had a question. Why? That? Who is going to be the next Tom Brady? Peyton Manning in the NFL. Do you think quarter wise? Oh, well, I don't know if there'll ever be another Tom Brady. But Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs. Would be the guy that I look at as being being the next great quarterback, right? Like what? Russell Wilson is already in his thirties, and he's a Hall of Fame quarterback. He's going to be he's already really good. But can he have that type of success? He'll have individual success, but I don't think he's going to have the championship type success. So I think Pat Mahomes is that guy that could be the next great quarterback. What about Josh Allen? Yeah. I mean, certainly he's He's my favorite quarterback in the NFL going to start winning first, right, and they had a good start last year to winning. And now they've got to kind of get over that hump. They made it to an NFC championship game. Now they gotta win one and get to the Super Bowl. He could be, Yeah, he could be. But there's a big difference between being a great quarterback in an M. V. P type quarterback and being a quarterback like Tom Brady, who's the best ever do it? And one more question. What about Justin? Herbert? Justin Herbert, Sir? Yeah, I'm a fan. I'm a fan took me by surprise last year and appreciate the call Kelly. I didn't You know, I think part of it was that I had seen him play so much, and this goes into the Justin Fields. Category two. You see in place so much that you're like Yeah, He's really not all that special or yeah, like like you just You watch Zach Wilson. Throw the ball and I saw some of the Jets preseason games so far this year and you watch him throw the ball and you're tantalized. You're mesmerized with how great of a ball he throws with the arm that he has and everything else right? Like I don't think I've seen Zach Wilson play any more than a game in his entire career. I watched Justin Herbert play a ton of games. I watch Justin Fields play a ton of games, right? And I just I didn't think I don't think Herbert was going to be a great quarterback. I didn't and Dan was I wrong? And by the way, Dan was a lot of teams are wrong, because if you re draft, there's no way to was going ahead of them. There's no way that other teams aren't taking them right. Like Chase. Young is a dynamic, great player, Great player for the Washington football team. He is a game changer on defense, and that's important as a defensive end. You know, but like if they would have known that that Justin doesn't Herbert looked as good as he did last year when they thought differently about taking a quarterback over chasing chasing is a great player any. He what he did The Cam Newton and in the preseason game this following weekend was was amazing, but That's that's beside the point. All right. So let's talk about Carson Wentz for a second here. And Um, you know, Carson Wentz had had Just an absolutely terrible season last year for the Eagles, and I'm in Philly. I work on W I p The Odyssey Sports Station in Philly 2 to 6 every day with former Eagle inquiry, So I know better than anybody What Carson Wentz is and I know better than anybody what the fans did, and everything else with Carson Wentz for whatever reason. Carson Wentz, 2016 rookie look great as a rookie 2017. They go to Super Bowl they win a Super Bowl. Carson Wentz was injured against the Rams, I think is his record was 11 3 or 11. 2 is a starter..

"Was going to be the M V P of the league. I was blown away by him here is something and I I don't think he's going to be horrible this year. Like a lot of what you said. I believe in Frank Reich. I believe in the offensive line. I believe in the run game. This is a place that he wants to be. Here's my biggest question with Carson. When something doesn't go his way. Since he didn't really take accountability for what happened in Philadelphia, and I get it. There was ways where you could point to blame another way because it wasn't all him. When it doesn't go his way or when something goes wrong or when he makes a mistake. There is one thing to say all the right things, but then you hear about things behind the scenes. I really don't believe Carson Wentz has been humbled yet. Don't think he really thinks he did anything wrong in Philadelphia, and I wonder, even in a situation right where this is where he wants to be. This is a better spot for him. I'm not disagreeing with that. There will be a point, though, this year or next year where something is not going to go his way, and I'm just fascinated by the way that will handle this. Because in Philadelphia, it was all Doug's fault. And Doug was like his biggest supporter. Oh, it's all how his fault. I'm not saying Hi Rosen did a good job how your husband's been horrible since winning Super Bowl 52. Or his ego was fractured because of Nick Foles. I'm not saying it was easy situation. I don't think they put him in a good spot them by drafting Jalen hurts, but a lot of times when someone meets adversity. Want to see someone stand up to adversity and kick adversities. But and Carson Wentz didn't do that. In Philadelphia, he pouted. He wasn't great in the locker room. And I used to think those reports are bogus. But they turned out not to be. And I just wonder what Carson you get. When something doesn't go the way of Carson, but it doesn't go Carson's way, and this is coming from someone. That was and remember who I refer. Remember who my favorite quarterback is? It takes a lot for me to get enamored with the quarterback, and at one point I was enamored with the quarterback. Wish, Carson. Nothing but the best. I would love to see the old Carson Wentz back. That's my biggest No point. Question with Carson. I think Frank will put in a good situation. I think the offensive line is gonna be good. I think your run game going to be good. I think your defense is going to be kick ass. How is Carson going to handle something when it doesn't go his way? Emily's ego be okay. With not throwing the football 40 times a game. You see where my concerns are at with Carson. Time, But I guess when I push back on that the coach who coached him to his two best years and and from all accounts of purposes held him held him accountable was Frank Reich. But Doug gets no credit for that. Now Doug Peterson is the village idiot. He's a moron. He's adult, right. He gets no credit for for the year that Carson once meant. It could be coincidence that Frank Reich leaves and you know, Carson goes downhill. It could be truth like I mean, it was the offensive line part of your he got hurt. Right, well, receivers couldn't catch a football. I think that weighs a lot into a two and I just wonder where the confidence of Carson is. That's my concern with Carson. A F C was player most intrigued by its Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert was great last year. Will there be a sophomore slump? Don't know. I don't think so, however off what was a really great year, there wasn't team's success. I want to see the Chargers this year. They're not going to dethrone Kansas City. Go make the playoffs and give me a reason to think that the gap is being narrowed between Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the A F C West and Herbert right now is the guy. In that division That gives him the best opportunity because it's not going to be Derek Carr. You can even spot him a six and 36 and four start. They end up not making the playoffs and let me not even waste time. And going to Mr Drew Lock or Mr Teddy Bridgewater with the Denver Broncos will break when we come on back. The four most intriguing players in the A F. C by division this year. Tua Odell once in Herbert will do the NFC next. Zack help show CBS Sports Radio Demand for unskilled workers is sky high. But who wants that life? There's demand for hundreds of thousands of it and cybersecurity professionals in the U. S..

"He wasn't even going to see the field. Right? What are they looking at? In practice That tells them that Justin Herbert isn't playing better than Tyrod. We know what Tyrod is. He's a great dude. But if you can get it if you can't tell the difference as an NFL coach between between Tyrod Taylor and Justin Herbert Justin Herbert, almost beating the Kansas City Chiefs and going on to be the offensive Rookie of the year. If you can't tell that is on your team, and you're playing the other guy. Wow. Yeah, that's a problem. Wow, That's a problem. There is other NFL news that is breaking all pro linebacker Fred Warner and the 49 ers have just reached an agreement on a five year extension. It will tie him to San Francisco through the 2026 season that, according to Adam Schefter there, ESPN's NFL insider. He's a former third round pick, and he was entering the last year of his contract. So these numbers five year extension worth more than $95 million. Well, certainly perked up the ears and the eyeballs of Tremaine Edmunds and his representatives knowing that he is undoubtedly going to be in line for a contract. If not this summer, probably next off season. So The cost of doing business continues to go up in this league, and Fred Warner is a hell of a player. I mean, we saw him last year when the Bills played San Francisco. He's just He's everywhere. He's ubiquitous out there on the field. He is outstanding player, probably the best pound for pound player. On that team, and that's saying something because that's a roster. It's got Nick Bosa and You know a bunch of guys so Big contract for Fred Warner, so good on him, And you know, people like Tremaine, Edmunds and other is really keeping close Watch of that where the market goes for a linebacker. I mean, usually linebackers aren't making high high end money like that. But Times have changed, especially in a league that demands that you have a linebacker that can cover be sideline to sideline, uh and and play in that fashion more than those old school run stuffing linebackers like Mike Singletary, those days are gone. You need guys like Fred Warner and Tremaine Edmunds. If you're going to have a linebacker worth of salt in this league and the 40 Niners pulled the trigger. $95 million deal. Five year extension. Unbelievable. Big time money there. So Yeah, that's it. That's all. That's a life changer a little bit. It is a little bit all right. We have to take a break here. When we come back, we'll take a look at some of your thoughts on the tweet sheet. In terms of our topic today. What do you think will be a pleasant surprise? For the Bills in 2021 the run game the run defense the pass rush something else you let us know.

"Make a move so you don't have to sacrifice your great player where he is to move him on the outside. I think what you're saying is totally fair. The place where. I think i would just disagree. Is that like. I think what you have in. The interior is more than fine. And i made the mistake of saying the word find. That's on me. I no issues with them going out. And signing by the way bringing in. Melvin ingram or olivier vernon. Those guys can help you like whether chris jones on the interior on the outside wherever he ends up being. You still need help right now. A defense event. And i think that's totally fair to say that I think what they're doing is more about the run than a pass. I think the chiefs have noticed that their run defense flat out has stunk for the last like three four five years. Now in if you're going to get better there at the best way to do. That is by moving chris jones to the outside having jarran reed and derek nadi playing in the interior on running downs. Like first and ten second three those sorts of downs. You're gonna see chris jones. that's when he's going to be playing outside. That's also when you're going to be seeing anthony. Hitchens and mick bolton on the field. I think they're just going bigger. They wanna get more bulk out there to be able to prevent teams from running all over them. Which has been a huge huge issue for many years now and i think that's the biggest thing i think on passing downs third and seven Second fifteen those sorts of situations. I think you're gonna see chris. Jones bump back inside because they know that's where he's at his best when it comes to his pass rush presence. I don't expect to see him out there a whole lot on those situations. I think it's going to be very specific in the way that they utilize them. And i think they're gonna utilize them as a weapon similar to what you see them. Offensively utilizing mccoll hardman. Wear a one time. He's going to be in the slot. Maybe he lines up in the backfield and then ends up. Kinda motioning out. Does that that orbit motion like you're going to see him all over the place. I think that's gonna be what they do with chris jones on the defensive line and i think it's perfectly valid to be concerned about. Christians are moving outside. I have questions about whether or not. He is truly athletic. Enough to like ben the edge and go up against some of those best tackles in the nfl. But adding melvin. Ingram doesn't change the situation in any way. You're you're still expecting frank clark to likely be suspended in some way so even if it's for the first four games of the season or whatever you're probably going to see him bounce outside a little bit and i just kind of to see what happens. It's early in the years. So i want to experiment. I want them to play round because their pass rush was a problem last year. It was an issue. So they're run. Defense has been issued for several years. But let's not act. Like last year with chris jones on the interior he went for like twenty sacks or something like that they had issues getting pressure. And that wasn't chris jones fault. That was frank clark's fault and they still haven't addressed that. They're still banking on frank clark being productive and hopefully they do bring in veteran guy but i wanna see how that all fits together at maybe it's taco charlton. I don't know but they still have plenty of question. Marks there no. I'm not saying. They don't have question marks. But i mean if you bring in a guy. A veteran like me melvin. Ingram is the one that has been talked about the most cheap circles. I think it definitely changes it. I mean you. You have a veteran. I think a guy out there that you trust that can play that role out there right. Now you're sitting here with taco charlton and mike dana. Like i mean right now like there is no. You can't feel great about that. And i feel like a bit of that makes you feel forced to kick him outside. I think that was a really nice point that you may be k. About this is about the run but this ninety four anymore. So what they're gonna do. They see those off those four linemen out there and they see oh derek. Nadi in june read and chris jones on the outside. But they're gonna throw they're gonna to teams are going to throw mega. They're going to change the way as you said. I believe you all said that that. That kid is the top three quarterback and all of the league doesn't herbert heston herbert for the chargers whenever they play him talking about. Because you referenced. Top three quarterback. That's not on the chiefs atop two quarterback in the league. You guys believe is better than aaron rodgers right now flow herbert justin herbert justin herbert. He gets it games and he sees that front. They're going to throw justin gobert. Yeah they're gonna throw. And i don't believe that they believe that. I do not believe that they just want to say that before. People get confused. Show that just in herbert's atop to quarterback. I don't believe that. But he said he was better have been mahomes but they're but they're but they're gonna throw teams are going to to throw against those fronts. And so like i don't think i don't think the chiefs are going to be able to dictate like all right. Yeah these and unless they really get them in obvious third down situations i think teams are going to throw whenever they see that front against against the chiefs and i just i thought about it and i understand the thought of all right. Let's let's play around with it may chris. Jones is really into what he wants to do it and he wants to play on the outside. Put now that dude is great right there. That dude is great on the inside. And i know he didn't have twenty six last year. But but that's that's where he can be dominant. I just i i don't want to. I don't wanna just hurt two spots. And i think there is a real potential would do in that with chris jones and moving them on the outside you might i just. I continue to think that. Mike my kind of final assessment of the situation as we are here on july ninth. I don't think it hurts anything to try it for a few weeks in the regular season if it fails if you get into mid october and you're seeing what you're talking about right now we're on and teams are throwing on you on those running downs and you're not able to dictate anything and you're losing out on pass rush because you don't have chris jones out there honestly right around the time when frank clark..

chris jones frank clark Melvin ingram olivier vernon jarran reed derek nadi mick bolton mccoll hardman chiefs melvin Ingram Hitchens taco charlton mike dana herbert heston herbert Jones anthony chris herbert justin herbert justin justin gobert

"At least the sixers have the best shot. No one really has a shot to win. But the sixers have a shot to compete. And when i say nobody has a shot to win that's presuming hardens healthy. And they play enough that they get their defense together at least some semblance of together. Meantime atlanta falcons actually make the move polit- trigger on a julio jones trade and they trade him to tennessee falcons got a twenty two second round. Pick a twenty twenty three fourth round. Pick the titans also get not only. Julio jones but atlanta's sixth round selection titans deals pending a physical. So look julio jones who's set to make fifteen point three million in two thousand twenty one and the rest of the titans pick up the falcon now seven and three quarter million dollar a dead descend three-quarter seven and three quarter of million dollars in dead money. This year is what. I'm trying to say in english. So here's here's my analysis of this situation right now. Julio jones will find out about your quarterback. That's why. I wanted to see him with the ravens right lamar. I think you can do it if you had more. Dynamic receiving target. And here's julio jones. Let's see if lamar really has it at the next level. But what he did was. He can't really choose who you root for. I don't mean your own team. I mean like you're just watching a game between two teams that you don't really have a rooting interest in and you find yourself rooting for one of them. For whatever reason it tells you something about the situation. Julio jones told me something about ryan. Tannehill that i didn't even know i thought i was always on. Tv stumping for ten. He's underrated he's a bubble. Mvp candidate and this and that and now he gets julio jones to go with aj brown. That's best receiving tandem in the league. He's got derrick. Henry running the ball. He's got a good at least run blocking offensive line. And i don't believe in the titans and it's because i don't think ten quite good enough. It's not like the old days where good enough quarterback was good enough. You really need a weapon at quarterback. Now patrick mahomes. And tom brady met in the super bowl and aaron rodgers and josh allen and these guys are trying to stop them and you know here comes joe burrow and of course trevor lawrenson and who i think of my favorite guy in In san diego in los angeles come on adjusted. Herbert justin herbert's like an unbelievable talent. Russell wilson uc unbelievable talent throughout the league antenna hills not enough final thick. Eighty eight say. Espn eighty seven to nine. Three seven. six. I wouldn't even when you think about the buffalo bills. Why do you like the bills. Maybe it's because they also have other good stuff. Great receiver a defensive coach. But then in josh allen. You think have a little something extra quarterback in even if you don't think baker mayfield really gives you extra over ryan tannehill. The browns have a better offensive line. It was number one rated run blocking and pass protection number one in both. that is rare. They have a defense and defense. It's getting better returning injured. Starters who weren't as effective last year available last year. Returning those guys bree williams and these guys and also adding jadeveon clowney to myles garrett on the other side denzel ward everybody and then you have you know how okay. Well the falcons were getting. Julio jones well guess what. The browns are getting odell beckham. Junior to jarvis landry well and they have derrick henry in tennessee. The browns nick chubb and kareem hunt so even if baker mayfield is not josh allen or lamar jackson or someone like that. The browns have more than tennessee. Have i mentioned guests. Join me on the goodyear hotline yet. Here what current laker magic. Okay raji needs to put some punctuation here what current laker magic johnson says doesn't have that.

trevor lawrenson lamar jackson Russell wilson tom brady josh allen patrick mahomes aaron rodgers Julio jones julio jones bree williams Henry odell beckham two thousand ryan tannehill aj brown last year johnson Tannehill joe burrow This year

"More involvement for joining us Broncos country tonight. Ryan, it was Benjamin. All right, Get the interview of the Broncos country tonight. Calm Nick Kendall from my high huddle. He's going to join us here at about 30 minutes. By the way, he prefers drew lock Doubter, not hater. Doubter Who said that? It was too busy keeping a Doubter. Yes, okay. The There's a group out there that don't think Drew lock is going to actualize the vision. In that case, I'm gonna stand. I'm a believer, okay? Every wildflower were, you know, mix it up the terms a little bit right. Might as well take advantage of it. 303713 85 85 is our phone number. 56690 is our techs along if you want to hit us up Let's see here on the text line. Benjamin, you're the man. With an exclamation point, Ryan, You're pretty cool to do. That is that is 100%. I don't see that second text. Did you see Benjamin? You're the pan. Oh, you didn't know It's it just came in, like, sure it did. I'm looking right here. I don't ride. Did you just add it? Did you just You want to see them like idiots right here. Okay, Such a jerk Such a jerk. But that is exactly like our interactions with almost everybody else, right as well as we've discovered. People will say Hi, Ryan. How you doing? And what up, fam? You said you got to tell her. This is not okay. So Ryan is trying to tell me that people react to me differently, right? This is this happened last season, getting the last football season. And I'm like, man, That is not a thing. People do not react to me that this is the same years being weird. Dude, it's not. It's not a real thing. Um, s O. We're walking down the hallway from the radio station from the radio studio up in the press box to the actual press box portion. And we see somebody we don't And she says hi to ride and I'm like, See She goes. Hi, right. And then she left me this What up fam like that, And I'm like But all I did was looking for, you know, yell, right, baby, Just like raised that one eyebrow. You don't talk about the peer over the glasses. Condescending One eyebrow raise kind of side with condescending background. Little bit. You know what this thing you have seen in General. Everybody knows this book. And like, you know, and it looks back at me and kind of kind of put the tongue in the cheek. A little bit was, uh, on dime just didn't like. Oh, they do that. I told you I never know it, but I think that's not a thing like how is that a thing? I just I just another example is just show up here on the text line. Benjamin. You're the man. Ryan. You're pretty cool, too. They they felt like they felt almost bad. That they didn't include It's okay that I think they think you are. You are the bank. I think they think I needed the bigger pick me up at the last 24 hours. That's what it was that they understand that you are not. You know, Nobody's coming. Who attacks you? Nobody attacks. Ryan, right. Everybody loves right up. That's not exactly 100%. I had some people come after me last We went around the George Payton higher. There was a god and a few few online scuffles, but no, nothing. Nothing even close closely related to you. But that zit different topic here from a jeep on the text like 56690. Would like to hear your opinion on how no O t A's this year will affect locks development. As much of that would hate to see him lose reps. I'm thinking it may not be as bad since it's the second year the offense What's 100%? Appreciate the text there, Richie if you'd like to hope that because he had the full year in Sherman's offense. That he'd be better prepared for another situation where he's in without O T A's without mandatory minicamp, maybe another shortened training camp. You have to believe because it was the same situation for the Broncos defense right? Because they had a whole year. A lot of the whole year Vic Fangio system. They basically hit the ground running. When they got to training camp in into this season. The same can be said for the office. You have to get a double whammy here. You know people like to talk about Justin Herbert Justin Herbert was a rookie who just need to learn the system for himself. And then jump in because all the other guys already knew the system that had been in place and the veterans around it. The brokers didn't have that. You know, Drew lock had to get cagey Hammer, Jerry Judy up to speed, too. Alberto Cueva Nam Lloyd Cushion Barry like He's your old guys, you know, Look, he's practically started. So and then you take away his number one target. Right. And then you got and then you lose Courtney something. The veteran leader that you had that receiving. So you know, I think that the offense will be vastly improved this coming season whether Drew lock is the guy or not. I think it will be because you have that continuity. Now, you know, there are people who don't like to lock and you know they're looking for excuses. I just want to give the guy a chance. I don't know that he is there isn't gonna be it. I just want to give him a fair shake and give me a chance. That's it. And if he doesn't pound out, I am happy. To say I was wrong. Let's go to the draft and get the guy you guys want so all the people that know that That's what that's the difference between me and other people. Other people just put their This is my opinion, and it must be so. I'm like, Hey, give me a shot with my guy first. And if that doesn't work, I'm happy to try your plan on the text line. But I'd like to challenge you here a little bit. When you talk about Locke being the starter next year, you say He'll either play well enough to be the guy or so bad. We can go get the guy. I think you failed to acknowledge what is, in my opinion of far more likely scenario, lock playing just average and getting 8 to 9 wins and the 18th pick in the draft, a K a quarterback purgatory. Nine wins probably puts us in the playoffs. Eight wins does not more than a standard format..

"I told you, I'd admit when I'm wrong. Listen for the cricket you're gonna hear on Gruden. I'll tell you where I was wrong. Didn't buy into Justin Herbert at all. There is now no question. It is less a statement about two of that It is about Herbert Justin Herbert should have gone ahead of two The Miami Dolphins if they had Justin Herbert today. Would be one of the contenders for the Super Bowl in the A F. C. Instead of a team whose excellent coach felt the best way he could win yesterday against at sub 500 Broncos team was to bench his rookie bench his future for Ryan Fitzpatrick. I'm not here to criticize Brian Flores. That guy has earned the benefit of the doubt and he's playing to try and make the playoffs. He knows his team can do it. He knows his defense could do it and he felt Fitzpatrick gave him the best shot of doing it yesterday, and I'm not going to question him. What I am going to do is I'm going to say that makes you question the decision. Don't you Justin Hobart getting pulled You don't see his team losing any game this year because of the way he plays. So the hot taken. I don't like saying it because I like to. I'm a fan, and I still think he may wind up good, But Rex said it today he placed small Pressure comes on him. He looks small. Justin Herbert is the goods. Justin Herbert should have been Probably the fifth pick in the draft, and maybe the first Won't take anything away from Borough whose injury yesterday was an absolute Absolute tragedy by sports terminology. And I believe he was the right pick because of his hometown because.

"So you know Herbert, Justin Herbert, he's He's the trigger, man. He he is the guy. That stirs the drink. He was the leading rusher for the jetty. Last week, he threw for over 300 yards and then pairing that skill set with a guy like Keenan Allen. The Broncos secondary is gonna have a tough test. I I agree. What about from the Broncos side of things? I mean, I think that the easiest one to point out is Se TEM Patrick or Philip Lindsay if they are not able to go I think you have some pretty big question marks as faras the offense and what they're going to really look like, Yeah, timber if if he's not able to go because of the hamstring injury, you gotta wonder what happens on offense with the Broncos. Because do you put Judy as the ex wide receiver? Is he ready for that responsibility? How did in effect How you like kg handler Tyree Cleveland would obviously then probably get more reps. But then also you go heavy tight ends. We've been talking a lot about you know, too tight and three tight end. You've got the you got the guys. You got fans. Albert. Oh, Nick van it. These guys are our very talented tight end. So you know, maybe you go little heavier, tight ends, but But Tim Patrick not being available after previously showing out great against the Patriots, and the Jets, I think would be a real concern. Spot. I'm with you, Matt. It was really great to catch up with you look forward to having you on our TV show Broncos TV on Channel 20 and the Broncos YouTube on Wednesday nights, so mad boy will be my special guest on Wednesday night. You don't want to miss that. Matt. Really appreciate it, man. Thank you. Thanks to make sure you keep Benjamin in line. All right, There's no way you know that. That's a physical impossibility. Thie one and only mad boy good to a chat with him here on a Monday night kind of breaking things down, and it kind of brings us back to our poll question right because we're asking you right now at K Way, Colorado on Twitter, the Broncos who suffered an injury versus Kansas City, whose production Will be most difficult for the team to make up for Tim Patrick. Philip Lindsay might Purcell and we got some responses. Story responded on there about all the above. Yes, I agree. All the above is going to be a very difficult deal to survive without all three of these guys. Mike Purcell, of course, out for the season, significant to your run defense. A man. I'm really tourney. This one. I'm really tourney. We have Lance Sanderson on in a little while and maybe he can shed some light on this. He's with a mile high huddle. Because for me in this game I kind of feel like it's Tim Patrick. But Philip Lindsay just added this. Like I said, to mention to what you were on offense. I mean, the way he was running the spark that he was for that team. I mean, you ended up having And overall, really, really solid. If not great rushing day. 33 carries 177 yards averaging 5.4. But it was buoyed by Philip Lindsay Araji, a 0.8. Melvin Gordon at 17 for 68, averaging four yards per carry is the deal with Melvin Gordon. You're gonna get four yards per carry. That's just what he does. He's going to fall forward for four yards. And and honestly that I'm okay with that Broncos because they got so far down to Kansas City. They had to abandon a lot of the game plan, but they still were able to run the ball effectively. I think they can build on that. And then you can running is the Chargers. You will be able to run.

"Right now, Busies. Alright, let's get into some of the text line early on just to see what the people are saying out there. How about starting with Platt see great text, he says the play calling your say so good, high percentage little risk. Run based use the whole field laterally on the run plays, and he says the priest snap motion. Had the Patriots heads spin so much motion. And so it's so evident early on that the Patriots did not have an answer for the 40 Niner run games. I was so glad that Kyle continue to just pound the ball on the ground, the shifting and then Wilson did the rest. Right and Kyle use Chick and the old line haven't third surgery instead of Toronto's Grasu out there getting it done. Great day seven of seven, said This is a win where I'd imagine you'd celebrate. After the game at the Deuce. Nice. What? What was that part of the package, You know, was that part of the back out to the game? We don't go to the Duce. Wow, That's actually your choice again over fire. Another one. See what happens here lets you see where we're going. I'm fights plane, but they were not here and after the game, we go to nice to do that, too. Am Club two and you two, a nine says, Well, Murph, your fantasy football prowess takes a hit. Anyone who plays knows the bye week pops up next to the player when drafting on most platform. I gotta be. I can't on draft day. I can't be worried about a week eight. By be honest, I don't never care like when people do that, like I've tried to map out my bias. I'm like, dude, I treated like I'll deal with that when I get there, you know, they think I'm hurt. I'm just trying to get through the next pick. That's all. You seem to be anybody five flaring up or anything and disputes. You want to talk about Mike Holder and his radio persona He carries now in my studio to see Michael. He'll do here because you know what he did. This is back to back to what happened with Murphy Holder had a bunch of guys Come by this weekend projection was he was gonna lose to me by 50. So last week, he starts his harp in immediately. Just given up all you're going to be me. I'm gonna lose pre calling his massacre feeling sorry for what I do, and I'm just like whatever, dude, let's get attacked from yesterday morning at 9 A.m.. Hey, man, Take it easy on me today when you beat me. And what about halfway through the day to Jeff Wilson? Junior on my bed? Oh, I didn't know this was going to start. Copes. I'm no joke. I felt so bad. I didn't even text you about it. Yes, Text copes was like, but he might be in a sensitive blasting a lot was going because bananas across America I guarantee you every league across America checked. Jesus, who has Jeff Wilson in early June. I guarantee you that happen from coast to coast and it happened to be the copes in our league had him sitting on the bench. Just everybody had him on the vent. My other three running backs all played in the morning, so I didn't have a choice. If I want to fill out a roster. I had to make a decision on gonna play Jeff Wilson talked about nobody was so I played Jeff Wilson and now holder has a shot to win the game. So here he comes. Then he starts talking starts crowing cruel after you've been this mad after the cry and wail, Then he started the whole iisten for, like, seven hours. Yeah, well, you know jihad. He was like this guy was like, Wow. And I wasn't even talking about I asked. Good given it wasn't trash. You know what I mean? Yeah, So then we get to Sunday night football. He's got Kenyon Drake, which You know, he got hurt. Bad game. He's gone. Copes has Russ and DeAndre my guy nook? Yeah. If you buck Choco starts starts chipping away at the deficit. Polly, I grab some popcorn with my win over Raph secured Wells to the Golden God that is Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert. We could do a whole show on this watch history repeat itself. It was mid season last year when I was getting pointed and laughed, and I scooped up an unknown Do I'm Ryan Tannehill. Next thing you know, I was in a hot tub with a cigar in a Manhattan by the way, way to remember how all these history repeat itself as my mid season pickup of Justin Herbert when nobody was looking all of saying about Justin Herbert is hopes. This guy delivers winds on the Friday football forecast. This kid is all those years were doing the Patriots win and cover at home. We're going to come up with a saint like Herbert will lose but covered the spread will lose. But cover the spread. Whatever it might be, because this kid is just delivering me winds Handover this. They got the win and coverage. Yes. The Cardinals. Just farmers like that's a team you dont want to see That's a team that they may not win the game, but they're going to come in and really big time away. Shut up to Justin Jackson will be pressed into duty for the bile Aiden mid segment reads this week. So anyway, coaches down he's shipping away and I start watching it in an overtime game goes into overtime. And I get my bonus reception from DeAndre Hopkins goes over 100 Polly, which gives you five extra points was down. Five..

"Heard good to Evian. I saw this where there's a story out that should compete for the dolphins Miami Dolphins starting job right now as long as the medical staff in Miami clears him. One of the reasons I think too I is the best prospect in this draft is because a lot of what he does. You can't really It's not quantifiable. And when you get people like that and we have examples of it it usually becomes great. Let me give you three examples. The first one we've talked about Russell Wilson. How can we never get head? He runs like Lamar Jackson. He runs Carson wentz eight years in the NFL. He never gets hit. You can't really explain. He runs backwards. You're not supposed to do that. He runs he shorter than you're supposed to. He never gets hit. There's an instinct with him that nobody else has. Even the Mar- doesn't have it went doesn't have it. Steve. Young didn't have it. He never gets hit you when you can't explain it it's special. Let me give you a second one. Mariano Rivera he had one pech. For Twenty years he had one pitch. It was a cutter. Nobody could hit it. He got old the pitch got slower. Nobody could hit it. You can't explain it. There's nobody in baseball. That has one pitch. He had one and he's the most unhittable revolt time. Batters knew it was coming as he got older. It got slower kid one pitch and it was often better against the better hitters. You can't explain it that special. Let me give you another Dennis. Rodman six seven and a half skinny guy is the all time best rebounder in league history. How's that possible? He played in era with Chemo. Shack and big seven-foot centers. And this skinny guy was the best rebounder. What that doesn't make any sense wasn't like he was the strongest. He wasn't the tallest he wasn't the best jumper wasn't the most powerful he hustle but lots of guys hustle. Larry Bird Hustled. Guys jumped into the stands house. Dennis Rodman the best rebounder ever. You can't quantify it. Russell Wilson Mariano Rivera Dennis Rodman when you can't qualify it. It's called special and those people usually become great Mark Sanchez on the other day. Mark Sanchez. Good College player and you know. Nfl had some success watches film. This is what he does and he tried to explain to. He couldn't really explain some of it. Sometimes you can't even articulate what he did on film and it leaves you scratching your head because it's so good and so fast and so instinctive. You're like WHOA. How did you know that? And can't really get the words out like he doesn't even know it's almost like he's processing. What's happening physically in front of him and in the nanoseconds his body's already reacting he's already making decisions that he didn't even know he can make that quickly and he can't even talk about it. Sounds like what the heck is that? How did you know and I I mean it's just uncanny the way he does stuff like that. So mentally twitchy. That's I've never been around anybody like that. That's why I think he's special. I think you can explain Joe Pearl. You can explain Justin. Herbert Justin Herbert's a four points. Student Big strong kid family was athletes. Got a cannon for an arm really good offensive. Line College I think Joe Borough wasn't great until he got a great team around him. He's a good distributor of football when he has protection time and good receivers to a lot of stuff. I can't explain. It's not very big. Didn't have a great arm. Didn't have a huge arm. You not real not real big. He's actually people will tell you. It's not even that great of an athlete. But why was he the number one high school quarterback in the country he was undersized? Never rocket arm wasn't a super athlete. Don't you have to be great at one of those things like John? Elway you were like whole my God. What an arm. Trevor Lawrence size arm. What is it it's the unexplainable and that usually becomes great. I can explain Patrick. Mahomes played in the majors. Guys got ridiculous arm. He's he's all time armed talent. He also has great weapons and one of the great play designers. Ever I can explain the whole Patrick. Mahomes the explain Carson Wentz. Six five rocket arm throws from angles. Tough kid really athletic. I can explain it. I can explain Michael Jordan. I can explain Michael Jordan. Huge hands allowed him to palm it a relentless work ethic and competitive to the point of strange. I can I am by the way had a forty inch vertical big hand super-quick. He had big hands but not huge. Allow them to be quick and shifty. I can explain everything Magic Johnson. He was six nine and a half point. We're no six nine and a half points. He was just so much bigger than everybody and he had the button. He backed in and he had great court vision and he worked his game and he was still at the very end not a great shooter and not a great defender but I could explain. It also happens. He inherited Kareem that helped. But when we can't explain you and there's Mariano Rivera it's hard to explain a lot of guys who the cutter was. I mean Dennis Rodman. Lotta guys hustled. Lot of six seven and a half guys hustled. Well he was skilled not really couldn't shoot. I mean you know. I don't know how to explain it all right so Joel. Klatt top next hour by the way. A doctor Foulsham F. L. season. I think we're going to have an SEC season. I'm not going to predict any of these leagues. I will say today. Okay so we're middle of May I'M NOT GONNA make any big predictions on September fifteenth. I don't really understand governor's doing that. Senators doing that talk show host doing that. I don't know what's going to happen. We've been locked down for a couple of months. We don't have a later issue or a mask issue. "Really help your three twelve and one football team with a GM and head coach under a ton of pressure or you could grab somebody that could end up being a foundational piece for a while at three though the whole you might get from the dolphins at the head for the Chargers that six might be too much to ignore with your team that's been on it's got Intel does said about other teams a treadmill to nowhere if you're just moving and not doing anything if you're the lions what do you do here I think if if on Detroit and I try to take a real logical approach at my current state and future goals I would trade down and get multiple players because I don't think as great as to what may be few still available there that he is the one guy that can turn that thing around quickly because this is not just it's deeper than this past season a year before that it it's it's been a long time to Detroit where the been trying to fight out of this you know mud part of not be able to go anywhere right so that they need they need players do they they need people many multiple people and I would be way more inclined a phone to trade to trade down to get multiple pieces that I can get a impact player on defense and impact player at a skill position an impact player on offense of line like if you get those three that that is the trifectas for any particular team we can do all in one particular draft and have that bill for the next five to ten years I delete I think that's the move out go from Detroit yeah because Michael is it also depends on who's making the decision right as a general manager Bob Quinn is a coach Matt Patricia is it both because quite honestly you go three twelve and what they got three twelve and one last year whatever record was you look at that stupid and you say well what they need wins now and Michael's right while you take more pics it also gives you a better opportunity to win now because you're feeling more whole fit for one more holes that you are just saying we're taking a quarterback for the future because neither Bob Quinn or Matt Patricia can worry about the futures of Matt Stafford's healthy and you could trade down and cover two or three holes with good players ultimately you give yourself the best opportunity to win this year but then if you are given the next season by some odd chance now you've set yourself up for some real success I'm not drafting to it instead of that I'm just not I'm deaf I'm acting as if I am but I'm trading down if you ask me I'm taking multiple players for multiple situations that they need to fax number I'm the GM of the team I mean great you always have conversations with ownership prior to address any large decision that is made from a franchise standpoint clearly I'm having a heart to heart conversation with ownership and asking them what is their priority are you trying to win as soon as possible and maybe that's just squeak into the playoffs and get a house in the first round we're trying to build something that would be a sustained winner down the road the issue with that in Detroit is they have an older ownership group and if that is the if the if the goal is to see that a championship caliber at least be able to see a team go to the playoffs the then the mindset of your draft is different but let's say the ownership group is thinking long term for the benefit of the family and what you could have from a a financial standpoint an investor's standpoint going forward then maybe their idea of what should be done in this particular draft is different so that's really what it's going to be down to what is the ownership one in the immediacy do we want to try to make a playoff run as soon as possible where do we start the building blocks of a sustained run of excellence released getting to some type of winning excellence it down the road because that's gonna determine everything you do in this draft that is the question the ownership is Martha Ford of the Ford Motor Company so we'll wait to see exactly what they want to do they're just an intriguing team that nobody's really talking about but but he decided if you have a chance go check out four versus four is really good movie great I'll get something to do in the downtime right yes yes two storm real nice yet based off your story most of the stuff after yeah twenty four hours of Le Monde if I'm not mistaken yes Shelby I mean there's so much stuff good stuff moved out on a run for budget CD yet but yeah it's a really good movie my city card I know that from working with him over the years ago to check that out it's got great reviews and Christian bale right was in yeah Kristen bell and a great Sir but the driver alone let alone with Shelby and then there's a also Netflix there's a document about Shelby himself but you have to see the whole thing it's it's so much good stuff and as the industry and and cars in Detroit and everything it's it's phenomenal awesome will seemingly have enough time to do it we'll put that on yeah we do the checklist another team that's interesting here is the Redskins at two now there's been some folly that they could perhaps draft somebody but I think they probably are going to stick it to spot here's a couple of guys we haven't talked about Jordan love and Justin Herbert Justin Herbert was once one of the most amazing things tailored to me Justin Herbert grew up in Eugene Oregon went to Sheldon high school which was one mile from the university of Oregon and as a kid his dad would walk to games at Austin stadium and lo and behold he arrived at Oregon as a six string quarterback nobody knew him even though we literally played down the road and now when his father walks two games at Austin stadium he sees kids Walker helped her jerseys which has to just be a mind blowing thing when you when your kids were walking to the stadium and now people are weird your kids jerseys your thoughts on Justin Herbert who I think had a pretty good career because you got to poke some holes in it was a lengthy career he exhausted his eligibility in a guy like Jordan love would one good year and one bad year and let's be honest raise your hand out there if you watch the Utah state game not many hands raced out there in your what about those two guys not getting a lot of talk but clearly they're going to get drafted because the gambling on the quarterback situation is applicable to every team yeah in a in you have to take a risk I will say this I think it's a little bit of a red flag the fact that Justin Herbert hasn't played anywhere outside of his own home and so let's say right now I'm just going to use it let's say Tampa draft him or Miami drafts of or he's got to move thank thousands and thousands of miles away from home do you know how he's going to react Justin Herbert in a lot of his stuff while he looks the part and everyone on the inside tell me weathers the senior bowl from not mistaken he had a good showing I just I hear things about Justin Herbert he doesn't come across to me as an ex athlete as someone that's very convinced about his future that he's Kim confident enough in pulled it together and that often times when we use it in my sport Zubin to use it as a reference when players Wayne Rooney is arguably one of the best players this sport has ever seen he played for Manchester he had never lived outside ever to never lived outside of Liverpool and then all the sudden he comes to DC to play Major League Soccer side the five year deal he's gone in fourteen months quote unquote homesick his family was home sick Steven Gerrard another great player for Liverpool comes over gone in twelve months my point is is that Justin Herbert has never experienced anything out of that comfort zone and if he's drafted three thousand miles away from Oregon how does he react that is something that very few people are talking about but that could have an impact Michael on how he transitions to the professional game do this it's a good point Taylor and I've never even considered that but the more I think about your one thousand percent trump I mean right because oftentimes we we learn about ourselves when we get outside of our comfort zone right and if you only live in one place your entire life what what discomfort have you actually felt maybe a road game here their members on you but what about living in a place for the first time for a long time that is absolutely a valid point that I've never even considered well let me say this about Jordan love and Justin Herbert the last season that we saw each of these individuals in college how does it compare to what Haskins last season at Ohio state nothing they did was better than what has caused it in Columbus his last year in college so if you're Washington you have a really good quarterback there clearly based on if you're going to what he did in college and from a physical standpoint and why would he draft what fifteen I think overall last year so you have a first round draft pick as your starting quarterback go into next season right now so you have that the what what is love for her to give you more than what you have with Haskins right now in the that's another reason I would take a quarterback with the number one reason is if jump world those number one and I can get chase young defensive line to to chase down the opposing quarterback I'm getting chase young I'm not worried about my quarterback because I just have a first round draft pick who just went through part of the year when he was a starter like they're in a good position I think relative to the other guys that could pick their if yeah if I can get check young instead I'm taking take young let me ask you three that let let me ask you to this real quick who's a more of a sure thing Joe burrow chase you chase young J. C. young case young right so so you go head take Cincinnati you take Joe burrow from I'm the red skins St thank you very much you didn't screw up right for the last ten to twelve years fifteen years you've screwed up you haven't made the right decision in these key parts they're making Cincinnati or whoever draft number one they're going to make the decision for check take the sure thing and don't screw it up and move on and worry about the quarterback conceive Haskins could play into what it call out once a backup but don't worry about it she's young is a sure thing and with your new head coach who thrives on the defensive side of things it's a no brainer for me I don't even think it's a discussion that's a bit because like you have a quarterback who just entering his second year he was off number fifteen overall pick like that's not a bad position for any team in the NFL when you talk about drafting quarterbacks and you could draft the guy that could be the next von Miller this could be it right V. P. of the league right so why would you not want that talent on your team if you already have a good choice at quarterback and you can't replace it with a better choice necessarily in the draft that's my point they're they're different position than the Bengals because with the Bengals want to do from their friends I standpoint throughout that region they get a.

"Yeah. Laura. Trump by drafting him right now. No, no. It's not like what the Celtics did with Larry Bird. You can't you can't draft somebody's rights. But thank you for the phone call. Yeah. I was confused because I'm thinking wait is there another Trevor Lawrence. I don't know about. But yeah, you can't the Celtics famously drafted Larry Bird got his rights. Read are backed it. But that would be that would be fun. If you could draft, you know, Miami would take to atone vilo with their pick the rights for him for next season. That'd be that'd be interesting. We talked about this before. What if that was extreme way of paying high end college football players like to wants to get his degree, but he could enter his name in the draft and a team could pick them and pay him. But would you do it with one year left of their eligibility? Yeah. Because I could draft you as a freshman, and then I've got to wait a couple of years here. But I have dibs on you. Imagine if you did like a mid first round pick for Christian hackenberg efforts. Who that would have been the jets take Christian hackenberg with their number one pick? And we don't get him for a couple of years. It would be you know, where would you Trevor Lawrence would go number one? Right. Mclovin. Absolutely. If you could draft us rights if I said to you can draft his rights or you can take color Murray. Or Nick boasts Quinton Williams. It'd be like Andrew luck and two thousand whatever it would be done. Yes. Right now, we would this time next year. We'll be talking about how to go to a lower team. So I have a longer career this time next year. He's going to be somewhere between five and thirty pulling Eli manning. He he's a guy who would not want to be oh one of these bad teams last year. Drew lock was the guy who if you could draw if you could get his rights this year. Would you draft drew locks writes this year, we're Justin Herbert Justin Herbert for next season? Yeah. He's fallen a little bit. Well, he I can't say made the mistake. He made the decision, but it felt like he wasn't gonna be any hotter than what he is coming out this year. I know he would've see go number one this year. It's rare when you come back that you improve your drafts talk at that position. Because all eyes are on. It's best to jump when you can jump his Haskins jump instead of staying. Hey, I had fifty touchdown passes. We killed Michigan. I'm ready instead of you stay another year. And then we get another year to nitpick. All right. Two hours in books. One more to go let you know if I hear any other tidbits here leading up to the draft Patrick show. If you're looking to hire somebody with the strong work ethic a desire to succeed, why not let.

"He really is. And he's a he's got a chance to be elite after that just in Herbert to me. And I have a good year. He didn't have a good year up and down. He's got a lot of talent though. He's kind of to me. He traits quarterback. Josh Allen type where he's not touching. Josh allen. Slowdown. Type where you're looking at the physical tools big athletic big arm. But can you get them to be consistent enough? Throwing the fashion was always better and Justin. Herbert Justin Herbert's not there yet. He's a traits quarterback. He's going back which was allies MU and he could be but to say he's going to be we don't know from. I'll is really good college quarterback FRANZ tough. He's a tough one. Is he drew Brees? That's going to be the calm. He doesn't have great tools, but he's a gamer. Yeah, he's as drew Brees at the college level. Is there any other guy there that Missy from this conversation because we wouldn't have talked about column a year ago wouldn't have talked about Baker Mayfield a year before that at this time. There is always seems to be some riser some guy that sneaks into that. Jalen hurts us in Oklahoma. I'll tell you what it Lincoln Riley, Jalen hurts, but first round pick that he he he's he's a miracle work. I retire prospect Jalen and hurts I don't believe. So. He's good. He's good. And he came in to and bailed them out of that gain this Audi Andre Walker had the injury in that game. But which hurt their defensive Georgia. But the bottom line is there they don't they don't move on without Jalen hurts to against some bad teams and mediocre teams. But against when he got to the top echelon teams, it was like, okay is he being a little bit overwhelmed here, and that's twenty twenty. And are we getting exciting? But Trevor whichever Lawrence Trevor Lawrence as has a chance to be the Peyton Manning of that draft. He he continues this pace he's going to be the highest grade I've ever given to a quarterback. And I haven't been doing it as long as you. So kind of excludes a lot of guys but Andrew luck. And he's on that he's kind of on that trajectory right now that game that he played the national championship. How about the the the onions if you will to come out in the national championship is a true freshman and the first three throws you are off target in the first two you airmail, and it looks like, oh, you know, the president over your head pressure. Is going to get to this plane. Alabama's defense not the best defensive savings had. But it's still a Nick Sabin defense their fro in different stuff out them all these different looks. And then he settles in and has one of the best games. I can remember from a quarterback in in a national championship. At just absolutely diced, their true freshman. That's that's big time. How big and how what he's yeah. He's six five to twenty. He's on ground level. Yeah. I've seen him three times. Yeah. He's a big big dude, and he can move. And and he's he's been kind of bread to be a quarterback. He played under a really good high school coach his dad has been involved in. And he just he knows the game. He showed up over hyping him now. And I think the interaction with some mates when you see that the White House you saw the interaction with the coaches and with the players you gotta like that as well. He really accommodate every possible. So those are the quarterback this year next year and even the year after give me one surprise this week a guy you love. That may go higher than people are expecting. Mel, I think Colin Sanders defensive tackle from western Illinois. We'll goes higher than be a lot of people are projecting him to go. Like third round. I think he could jump into that early. Second round early day to night two. He's a defensive tackle with a lot of athleticism a lot of production. He gets into the backfield. He said, it's rupture. He's a guy say one AA if he played in the big ten would be talking about him as a first round draft choice Darren teed. I think Colin it's K H A L E N pronounced pollen. Sanders defensive tackle western did the backflips. Yeah. Right. Like a gimmick..

"You have to get to the third radical Wallace didn't member Senecal house when he's five eleven six foot Jerusalem. So one. Right around sixty. This is five ten five ten. Big eight short. Short guy, who's remeasured at five. Kidding? Just kidding. But whatever he is he's as historic this isn't as stork move. But it's a new NFL every year. We've say it's today's NFL who fits today's NFL we say that about a lot of players. He certainly is at the top of the list. So that's this year's quarterbacks. And I wanna ask you guys next year because we've already begun this chatter about the quarterback class of twenty twenty is it what some people have said to me that it could be one of the great quarterback classes that we've seen. Are you ready to go there? Can we talk about that? Are you prepared on these quarterbacks? We got Justin Herber we've got Jake from who we got to. We've got we put Jacob Easson in that conversation or not I don't even know right now. I tell you that's where that's over hyping. Okay. So we'll take him out because we'll go over hyping the class the whole class. That's not a chance to be special. He's got got dinged up a little bit. This year. Didn't finish didn't have the the great. Finish that he had compared to how he started. He was on a record setting pace for the first seven eight games of the year. And then he he started taking the hilson tackler town around them, absolutely. He's got maybe four wide receivers. It will be first and the titan running backs and to run. Offense lineman. Right. So, but he he is a special passer. He really is. And he's a he's got a chance to be elite after that just in Herbert to me. And I have a good year. He didn't have a good year up and down. He's got a lot of talent though. He's kind of to me traits quarterback. Josh Allen type where he's not touching. Josh allen. Now. Slowdown. "Welcome back everyone. GMC football podcast. We just talked about that. There's a football match up. That was the cardinals in the Broncos. We talked at every single match up in the Sunday week, seven match-ups that are happening in the world of the NFL. Now we're gonna move onto college football and all the top twenty five teams. We're gonna look at each team and see if any of them are upsets. Should we go through it? Yeah. Or are we? Can you wanna talk about the games or there's two ranked teams playing other? Sure we can start with that number twelve, Oregon versus number twenty five Washington state. Yes, that's what the best game in the Pac twelve this weekend. Yeah, man, that one's a tough game that call to be honest with the, but you know, Washington state, they are playing at home, but it you're saying that Oregon quarterback will be the potential number one overall pick. Yes. Just in Herbert, Justin Herbert. Absolutely. He's he's definitely capable of being that guy of being the number one picker at least number one quarterback in the upcoming draft. Actually think Oregon's going to win this game. I think that they stay hot. They stay on a roll and they'll probably creep into the top ten this week, probably move into like eight or nine if I had to guess. The yeah, I think we're gonna win. Okay. Moving onto another rank matchup versus rank matchup number five, LSU faces number twenty. Two, Mississippi State. Yeah, that's a nother big game. LSU seems like they're finding themselves playing these big games week in week out that that is now the third game in a row that they are playing a rink team. They lose the Florida. They beat Georgia, probably the most impressive result of last week in college football. If they beat Florida before them, they're probably in the top four. I mean, they're five right now for sure. Yeah, they'd be number four. Absolutely. So number two. That game is also in LSU. But it won't be easy. I mean, is it every easy? No, it's not. It's not ever easy, but Mississippi State, we cannot discount what they did or they be Auburn. So if you remember they won twenty three, two, nine against Auburn. That's super impressive. Man. I just don't know what to what to say here you think will in. I'm going to keep on with LSU at the moment just because like the woman beating number two, Georgia, I think will carry on against Mississippi State. I think they are the better team overall, and I think the will continue their trying to bid into the cultural playoff. Yeah, I think. Yeah, I think LSU will win home field a factor here. It should be close game though. Wouldn't be surprised. This is overtime. Oh, yeah, I can see going overtime this. There's one or two ways. This is gonna go blow out or close game, man. You really covered all the bases there. We'll know it's like it could be like a tour game. That's really a blow Alica blow. And I'm talking three to four game Jeff thinks that this game with their end in a close game or one team running away with. This on your way to way to just go out on live where it's either you to be one sore game to score game. Three score gamma force working at five or six score game, how at that. So we're, we're the blow out where does that line? I would say a least four scores now come on, you went by three scores. That's a blowout to scores, could even be college football at sound blow out. So twenty one point wins. I would say twenty eight or more. Anyway, let's move on. Why don't we talk about the most? The biggest game, at least like for eyeballs Clemson in an NC state. Well, we're talking about ever just brought it up, say the one I know you're talking about for further. Okay. Number three, clemes overs number sixteen NC state. Probably the closest rankings facing each other. This this week I have to say, yeah, three and sixteen. That's a pretty high up there. Microphone anyways. So that was weird. Clemson, this is a must win game obviously. But I think all user must win. But this one is steaming game to show. They belong in the top four and the two college football playoff conversation because they haven't really face teams that are. I would say competition yet. What do you think?.
