"Company. He says a co worker armed with a pistol opened fire on fellow workers at some point on this Friday afternoon. After seeing him arrive at work at seven o'clock in the morning for what appeared to be a normal day earlier that same eyewitness told our affiliate W L S that he thought maybe this employee was about to be fired. And that may be what touched off this apparent workplace shooting. That has clearly now claimed some victims a number of area trauma centers have told us that they have received patients that conditions. Have not been made clear we are looking now at a line of a half dozen ambulances that have been brought ever closer to the building that houses. The Henry Pratt company in the last couple of minutes. More swat vehicles have parked directly at a set of double doors, next to what appears to be a loading dock. A number of officers have been going in so far we have not seen any additional patients come out, but they have staged those ambulances such that they could be pulled into the parking lot right away. Should more bodies are victims or whatever a need to come out. We hope it doesn't come to that. But authorities said the shooter has been apprehended in Aurora. The lockdown is still in place, and the city is promising more information as soon as it can get it to us. We know the FBI and the ATF are on their way along with the US marshals service. But we certainly don't know the severity of this workplace shooting. But the circumstances of it from this I witness account anyway have become a little bit clearer as a perhaps disgruntled co worker takes a pistol to work the cover the eyewitness. Made clear guns are not allowed in the plant comes to work with a pistol. And as this I witnessed put it just starts shooting. Everybody. The eyewitness said he recognized the man who works eighty yards from him didn't appear to be a problem at the start of the workday at seven o'clock this morning, but sometime after about two o'clock central time in Aurora Illinois is when this shooting unfolded, it is now over the shooter has been apprehended. I'm Aaron Katersky. You're listening to live coverage from ABC news. Let's get back to chief Boyce chief Robert Boyce, formerly of the NYPD. And now at ABC news contributor chief? That it's over. And that these ambulances are staging gives you a little pause here. But we were still waiting for a word on severity. We are. And the fact that we're not seeing people taken out of there to serve as well. It's it's the fact that they could have been dialogue, finally surrendered. They be coming searches. Right up other. So it's it's difficult to say right now those vehicles so swab vehicles as you described. They're also extraction vehicles were because there you can pull people out. I don't see that happening. So right now, we're look like we the perpetrator is still unseen removed. But right now, the public research for whatever other victims, they may find. Right. I mean, I guess searching the building is probably the priority at this stage after the after the shooter's apprehended. Yeah. I think it was clear that this is this happened. This culture may have been there in the morning hours. So we don't know what happened on this. I'm on this path if he left in one. Back. So a lot has to be determined just yet. So I'm looking at right now is that people have used opposes online. Now, more and more resources are going in probably part of the search of a very large clinics. Could take some time before they give all clear on this chief, Robert Boyce, formerly NYPD and now in ABC news contributor on law enforcement matters. Like this. What had been an active shooter situation in Aurora Illinois, south of Chicago. We are waiting for the city to tell us more about the severity. But the shooter has been apprehended within the last twenty minutes, or so, and we do know that there are patients that have been received by local trauma centers as a result of what unfolded inside. The Henry Pratt company. The severity of those injuries appears to vary at least two one hospital says are non life threatening. Certainly good news. We don't know about the severity of the others. Or even the number the local paper in Aurora, Illinois. The daily herald is reporting that four police officers are among those shot in there. Are addition additionally some civilians who have been shot as well. I'm Aaron Katersky. You're listening to live coverage from ABC news. The FBI the ATF the US marshals service have joined Kane county sheriff's department Aurora city police at the Henry Pratt company in Aurora where shots rang out probably about two hours ago now, and it appears according to an eyewitness account that a worker at the company took a pistol to work and opened fire for some unknown reason there did not appear to be anything wrong with this particular worker, according to his co worker eyewitness, but at some point maybe he was about to be fired this this witness guest, and he ended up started shooting at every. All of this unfolded at the Henry Pratt corporation in an industrial park in Aurora. Illinois, south of Chicago police have converged on the area, but they have since now. Backed away a bit that their posture has certainly relaxed now that the shooter is apprehended. There is still a line of about a half dozen ambulances and we're waiting to see whether any additional patients come out of that building. Swat officers are position near a set of double doors next to a loading dock and the authorities haven't yet said exactly what has gone on the area schools have been on lockdown that's out of an abundance of caution. And we don't know whether there was any dialogue with this suspect. Whether he had been barricaded, they had only said that they had taken him into custody that he has been apprehended, but his condition. Is not known nor the conditions of those who may have been shot. We're waiting to see whether police might give us some additional detail soon. But I witnesses have telling us about taking refuge in strangers homes has they bolted from the building another witness said it was his co worker who was the shooter he walked in. It was any other day at work. This one though he happened to carry a gun with him and opened fire with a pistol. According to the eyewitness and aimed it seemed indiscriminately at his coworkers. Several of whom have clearly been injured, according to local hospitals. But again, the severity is not known chief, Robert Boyce, formerly NYPD and now in DC news consultant. Chief? It's almost as if things have come to a bit of a standstill at least outside with these ambulances staged and the swat vehicles parked near the doors. But I can imagine there's a lot of activity inside. Sure. And I would if I was in at the them as well until the search is completed on seep anybody more injured people the fact that we're hearing this for police officer shot. Anyway, may have been the fact that they determine it this, and we're able to create them and location and were injured protocol the protocol that they would be easily. So let's let's hope that. No, just no Pataudi. But the fact that the police officers may have stopped this person roaming around at that's being speculative right now. But I'm just looking at what the evidence we have right now. So you're seeing a still sociability looks like for other other. And that's where we are right now. I was all my resources replaces, well, yeah, I was going to ask you about that. If you if you were the commanding officer on scene, you'd be doing the same thing. I certainly would together better feeling just make sure that you may be those ambulances. Hurry. If you find some people. So so that's what I'm thinking right now from what we were framed by the eyewitness, it looks like it certainly has all the appearances of workplace violence up someone with a coworker had a problem walked in with a handgun. That's porsches. Have a long gun, but we'll go. We don't know how many magazines. At that time. How many times reloaded that's one part of us education going forward? The White House says President Trump has been briefed as he departs for Florida on the situation in Aurora Illinois that has left apparently several people at least wounded we don't know the severity of the injuries, but a number of area trauma centers in Aurora have said they've accepted patients from what has gone on inside. The Henry Pratt company where an eyewitness says that one of his co workers opened fire using a pistol for an unknown reason swat officers are still position near the loading dock at a back door, and there is a line of ambulances just waiting so far. No people have been brought to those ambulances and as chief boy says they continue to go through that building to determine what has gone on. And how many victims there yet might be outside the posture of those who had responded to the scene is is much more relaxed. They are standing. Snow? We we've been following ABC coverage of the shooting in Aurora Illinois at a workplace this WFL, West Palm Beach, and we will we will come back with more coverage. Once there's a press conference. But right now, let's take care of some words. We'll come back and try to figure the rest of the W R M F HD two.

"Carroll. Thank you is a national emergency that the president didn't really need to declare. That impact is something that Trump himself conceded today as he sought to explain why it's so urgent to bypass congress which approved for less money for his proposed wall than he had sought and use executive action to siphon billions of dollars from federal military construction and counterdrug efforts. He essentially said he just doesn't want to wait for his border wall. I could do the wall over a longer period of time. I didn't need to do this. But I'd rather do it much faster as Trump made his announcement from the rose garden democratic leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer revolving on Capitol Hill, they'll. Challenge.
