"What is your all time favorite Christmas movie? All right well loaded question. I know I have. I have a couple everybody you should one I mean I love scrooge and bad Santa I think I think my El- I'm not into the classic Alf Shelf is my number one as legitimate. And he so good or not he so As I love well Farrell will. I mean it's it's will ferrell at his most genius he he is so innocent and childlike. And so good. He's just the best and I love home alone. All right I just I love home alone two so not to. I mean do like home alone too but I like home alone to maybe better than home alone while I was lost in New York but only because of that scene where where. He's on top of the brownstone throwing the bricks. I remember as a little kid to never laugh as hard as I did in that scene so I have some very very refund news. I went to a screening this week for last Christmas. Emilia Clarke is like this woman. WHO's down on her luck And she works at had a Christmas store so there are no dragons but she is consistently pretty much in an Elf costume my God and she's tiny two. That's probably the cutest thing and then Henry Henry Golding is in it from crazy regime handsome so handsome handsome. Emma Thompson isn't love her. She is not only plays like a very Eastern European mother. Okay who sings very eastern European song. But she wrote it. Oh I didn't cheer right or is this your first writing. Babies is not you said so there was a really great. QNA afterwards with Emma Thompson and Paul fee who directed it Paul Office. Yes freaks fixing Geek love freaks and geeks female ghostbusters lady. Buster's is I like to lady buster. She said that she had been working on the movie for seven years. Oh and the entire soundtrack has George Michael. Okay which is superimposed. Okay I love George Mike does it so hard and I think we should cut to a little bit of Emma Thompson and Paul feed talking because perfect. All right we so anxious moment everywhere uh-huh and we need to have seen some where people are being kind to one another and learning how to be kind and tolerant and giving using unaccepted familiar movie about you guys. I Wanna I wanNA skill different. So let me tell you a little breakdown breakdown of what actually happened to the screening. And then afterwards they brought us into this really pretty like library room and we all SAT. It was like a little tee. A little like T. They had mimosas. "Turtles kids so i didn't have the head of all the military man listen i. I had to bring up a message that one of our colleagues left and slack. I will not out who who it was but they sort of you know. We're getting behind paramount's thinking they're like sure henry golding. This guy's handsome recognizable. He's increasingly popular. Let's put would've buying a mask and it's like this is a good and bad choice for him. It's a good choice because there's probably a little bit of money attached catch this role. Maybe two or three million i would say this is seems like his biggest payday <hes> and good for him you know henry golding has earned this moment <hes> do i think the snake is is a good career move for him. Absolutely absolutely not wow this is a a a b level or c. Level franchise absolutely lulu especially without the rocker bruce willis and then to change that but where it is right now i would agree with you and especially with robert swanky attached to direct that is not yeah swanky. He's okay but but he doesn't really knocked me out. I would not have done this if i was henry henry golding but i also understand why take a page. There's not a lot of feature roles for asian actors now. Though you gotta take what you can get to get to the this is not a role for four an asian actor nicolas hoult just as he's under the under the mass he probably just didn't want to be under you can put this on your resume as an actor this. I'm the lead in a franchise which is film and gray for diversity and inclusion but what happens if it fails. I shouldn't have done it. I mean it's it's the risky run run with signing onto just about any franchise now <hes> just to give you a little more information on this film. According to t h are the script is said to center on snake is seeking revenge for his his father's death by joining a ninja clan in the process of finding acceptance all right. We have more to cover as little block here so i want to bring up a question from the live chat from steve calderon who's asking what are your thoughts on. These theories that henry golden's character in last christmas is an angel or ghost. If you noticed in the trailer we only see him min scenes with amelia clark yup yup and she says you you're never around what i'm looking for you just kind of pop up so as soon as all the trim wait a minute and you get that so. I'm glad that everyone else figured that out but geoffroy figured it out first because nobody figures it out. I know one thing move in general the opportunity to like try to discover it for myself. The first headline i saw was oh did they just give the twist away and then and you know the little blurb underneath basically gives it away so always. We didn't think this was the twist moving. The twist. I thought is that is that she is sana anna well. She does michelle yeoh the boss she doesn't do that would be a fund santa claus playing santa claus captain georgia. I don't know if it's like lake in the store more of like a like almost like a supernatural approach if but if that was the spin and the trailer makes you think that he's actually an angel when she is in fact santa claus i would be all for that look. I'm it's certainly possible when she's getting wheeled in. She has dark brown hair. What what is she when she's in most of the trailer. It's the light brown issue on that hospital bed the whole film having this whole like fever dream about this relationship in henry buildings. Thanks for guardian angel. Her parents are in and michelle yeoh. Maybe god even and trying to steal her back into life and what you can do with a life when she comes out of this thing i i like the trailer a lot more than i learned to store. I think it's the most appealing amelia clark has been to me i think ever because i'm not a big fan of hers hers but i'm still confused as to the george michael elements of this movie was designed like george michael musical titles literally as george michaelson greg lamb saw okay and they play freedom at the end of the trailer. Get that how how these two things go together. I think this was the point of making they wanted to make it a george michael music inspired films. There's a lot of songs on here that apparently the soundtrack that are gonna have never been heard before. I guess it's also because it feels so different from other other movies in a similar vein that we've gotten this share. Let's say blinded by the light which is coming up in <hes> <hes> not rocket man. What am i thinking yesterday yesterday where it is a direct reference to let's let's say the beatles so maybe it's just a different approach way of using an artist music without having to do a bio-pic yeah. Yeah we do have one more story in this block to get to and it's something that actually really broke right when we were wrapping up movie talk yesterday and i was bummed. We didn't get to talk about it. Then so harry styles has turned down the role of prince eric in disney's live action remake of the little mermaid so given the fact that we were just discussing whether or not we thought it was a good move for henry golden. Take the guy's role. Do you think this was a good or bad decision on styles houses part to pass on this opportunity. You wanna universe sure. I kind of liked this idea. I liked that. He passed on it. You know you talk to me about a boy band singer trying to be an actor and i merely go get out of here with that stuff. Show me something he he had a small part in in <hes> dunkirk and did all right. If you're trying to break out of this boy band connection maybe going into disney film as where you wanna go maybe going into the independent film route little more grittier. Little dirtier type filmed a role rather. Maybe you want to do that and so maybe stepping into maybe any that elvis film was that too so stepping into something that you're going to be the love interest and you're going to deal with this idea of like well. We wanna make this very female. Centric more empowering powering than the original animated film then maybe you're only seen as an object rather than a character fully fleshed out and you can really show your acting skills so to me maybe that was his way of thinking and i kind of applaud him moving off of that for that reason reasonable <hes> thought process there is that opportunity is on on the horizon for him because repairing little mermaid snake is if you want to establish yourself with a big movie before going onto you know using acting cloud to swing your weight around and get other smaller projects. Little mermaid is the way to go about it. That is the safe bet especially compared to snake eyes. I was i was the little surprised by but not one hundred percent. I guess i'm mixed on it overall. <hes> i understand wanting to turn it down wanting to do something a little bit edgier. I i think yes that he thought he may be may have gotten that elvis. Movie was probably pretty disappointed when he didn't. He doesn't need the money you know. I think think i think he wants to be paired with hollywood's classic leading ladies like this was emma stone as the little mermaid i i don't think he would turn it down but to be romantically paired with halle bailey who hasn't really doesn't doesn't have a lot of experience. I could see why he may not wanna beezer that take is your fault if there's check that i want to be working with like hollywood's top actresses. Why don't you have to earn that position. Russian for god's sakes ephron can't even do that one hundred percent and he's like got way more credibility than harry styles as an actor. Maybe it'll be the guy who comes in in and takes over this role a bad choice. I just want him for like being in a disney movie directed by rob marshall and having some of these other people that's not good enough. I love also like we can't necessarily say that that is exactly right here like if i was harry styles i i don't don't know that i would want to. I want more experienced co star. I think that's that's why i think like an agent and a manager and that's why you turned it down rocca. That's right turned it down for something better and you know what because i believe in myself and i know something better is coming along moving onto his story that we can then actually backup courtesy of some jeff snyder reporting. We have sure located in this story no reporting from john rocca okay. Do you dare wanted like thi. This talk is going to direct an interactive haunted house movie for amblin jeff. Tell us about it. I was coming off of crawl. <hes> which was a modest hit. This summer made about sixty million worldwide on a budget of thirteen. He is going to work with the haunting hill host guys mike flanagan and geoff howard as well as collider nick simon. This is an interactive horror movie so basically it's a choose your own adventure style thing they're working with this company keno industries and they have this control movie be technology and it's basically an app that you'll be asked to download before you go into the movie theater and the entire. I will then be able to vote on their phones for what they want to happen. It'll change what what happens in the film. It'll change the ending. It'll change the potentially the running time so this is obviously an experiment. It's a bit of a gimmick but i like it because i think that you need to do things like that to compete with these giant disney ten polls and also the relative easy accessibility of streaming services. You know this. This'll be a lower budgeted. Film haunted house this movie but i don't know i think it sounds fun to me. I am all for this idea. I was reading your report and admittedly when i hit the point where it said an app app for your phone. My red flag went off and i was saying to myself before even continued on with the article and really thought about it. I do not want cell phones in my movie theater ever ever ever bought applied in this case thinking about because we're always talking about how important it is to have the communal vibe especially when you're seeing something like a horror movie to have that be ah shared experience with a whole bunch of strangers. I don't know that just sounds so exciting to me that yeah bring in the cellphones. If that's what it takes to make it happen the the history of the world is littered with people who took something that irritated other people and turned it around to make it work for them and this sounds like that kind of situation who is isn't irritated by seeing someone to turn on their cell phone in the middle of a movie and do whatever and play a game which i've seen before during movies insane or text imagine turn that in i'm having that understanding that you can't stop the tide of that and go. How do i take advantage of that situation. Oh let me have them iraq with their cell phones during a movie while they're watching something that that is brilliant to me. There's a certain kind of brilliance to that. I do wonder if there's some sort of functionality where the app can at least you know like do things like automatically. Dim your screen in lock you into the app for the entire movie because that is something that i really wouldn't want to happen. If you can use it you could use the app for the sake of the movie but i don't want someone when and the choices over to go on over to twitter and start scrolling through so i hope whatever app component they come up with has some restrictions to it. I mean if someone wants to be on twitter in a movie. They're going to be on twitter and movie. That just sucks for the person next to them. I suppose unless they're sitting next to me. I just think i obviously they're going. I think you need to present the audience with a choice. Every few minutes just like a black mirror. Bander snatch did to keep them engaged so those phones probably we'll have to stay out but you know everyone's going to have their head down voting at the same time you know so then they go back to the movie to see what their choices is dictated and i don't know i i think it could work. Do you guys remember doing this. In the nineties. <hes> there was like this movie. It was either mr payback or mr jealousy or something like dad was mr payback. You don't remember they had actual devices in the theater so you would like hit a button on a console attached to your seat and the audience would vote it and you'd get the ending or whatever would happen. I think this is obviously the next wave of and spielberg and his company be the one driving you know. I think it's it sounds pretty cool. If there's any team behind something as ambitious as this the group that you just named in this piece. I am all for it i really do. I believe that if anyone can pull it off. It's this group right here guys. I hope you enjoyed this supersized addition of collider movie talk as always. I must thank my panelists jeff in roker. Thank you for being here. During the live chat ataman the booth back there and leaving you guys now i am off to north bend washington but guess who's going to host the show the next today's that guy right there have fun. "I think it's probably mostly problematic ish movies but it like. I saw bright burn this year. Did you see that bobby. No i did not bright. Burn is a sony superhero movie. It's sort of like what if superman but he's evil and superman as a kid and we see the origin of a super powered young boy who breaks bad. It's a will name movie. It's a nasty bit of business. It's just a really tough violent and gory movie and the kind of movie that when i was sixteen i really loved and i still have a little bit of admiration for it. I think it's hard to you know step forward on social media and say the movie i fucking loved is bright burn because it indicates a little something a little cracked about you even e. and it's different than something like metsamor which is deeply artistic. <hes> breaker is more exploitative in a in a specific way with movies so i guess the data's is the closest that we can come to this kind of like modern guilty pleasure but as i said i don't really think that that's a real thing yeah your optimism point while taking the fact that i've read like ten articles in my life about gun fu which is like what they call. The fighting style of john wick absolutely just goes to show. I think that there's much more wide. Lee accepted critical thought about these types of things no doubt off. I think the concept of guilty pleasure movie kinda shifts on what the group of people who are around you right like i felt like top gun was a guilty pleasure for me at n._y._u. Which was ridiculous because that's not a guilty pleasure at all. It's a perfect movie but i think it depends on. Who's who you're talking to yeah. I think it's the way that we deem something useful. Invaluable has changed a lot too there for a time. I think a lot the people especially when they're growing up and don't necessarily know how this industry works as much think that the oscars is the barometer against which you measure quality and we know that's not turn now but i think as you get older and you see more kinds of films you see more foreign films. You see more documentaries. You see more things that are not necessarily fully commercialized. You have a different understanding of what's good not good and you can realize that the concept of unintentional comedy as it applies to topgun makes a better and it's okay to be excited about something being kind of bad because it makes makes it even better. I'm gonna have so hard for that. In twenty twenty speaking of that alan villa asks what is most anticipated twenty twenty movie for you rumor or otherwise plus. I wrote this down quickly. Here's my list last night in soho. That's garrett's new movie the lot of admiration for acre right does i think you're right is trying to do the same thing that tarantino's doing. He's he's trying to create an event at the movie theater and that was what baby driver wasn't even. If you had some problems with with baby driver he was trying to create a theatrical experience. It is full of energy so i'm very curious to see what he does there. I wrote down newark you familiar with newark now. I'm familiar with newark the place and unfortunately the international airport but not the film so i've never been to new york's not going to weigh in on it but i do believe that that is the current title and maybe they've changed the title at this point of the sopranos prequel. Oh okay yes. I'm familiar with that so this is the james gandolfini character tony soprano's father. I think is the significant figure in the story. <hes> this has been long just dating <hes> like most human beings. I'm a huge fan of the sopranos. I'm fascinated by david chase's career and everything he's chosen to do. I think david chase's last movie not fade away is he's one of the already kind of like lost classics of this decade. I wrote about it for grand back in the day and i really admired what he was going for and this is gonna sound like a strange comparison but i think it has a little bit in common with euphoria especially the ending of euphoria for season and the ending of this movie not fade away so i'm used this as a as a shadow to fade fade away into my interest in david chase couple of other movies. Here's a dumb movie that i'm looking forward to and it's called the gentleman this guy ritchie's movie at cinema con. I saw a preview of this film and even though it's not coming out i think until january twenty twenty and i'm just i'm all the way in i'm it's. It's colin farrell. It's hugh hugh grant. It's charlie hunnam just being dashing tweeden bearing drug dealer monster guys great and it looks in the vein of the snatch and lock stock guy ritchie which she has not been doing enough of lately as we know from our aladdin podcast other relevant figures in this movie include matthew mcconaughey henry henry golding who you may remember from crazy rich asians michelle dockery with whom i am in love from downton abbey and germy strong or number one boy just a a lot of handsome dudes going to be wearing tweed lotte handsome guys in tweet so that's <hes> late january twenty twenty. I wrote down nightmare alley. There's some news about nightmare alley. Which is <hes> komodo toro's next film his first film after the shape of water <hes> this movie is going to star bradley cooper. It's based on a novel from the nineteen forties. There has been already a an adaptation of this movie from nineteen forty starring tyrone power. This is a very twisted film about what happens inside of carnivals and tries to penetrate the world of <hes> conman and chicanery and it's going to be a period piece set in the forties and i'm very very excited about it. Even though i think you're on with oh toro has lost my trust a bit in the last couple years <hes> of also randomly when els the the invisible man. I think one of the more underrated genre stylist the idea of him doing a classical horror. Movie is interesting to me. I mentioned khloe zhao's at terminals as far as the the marvel movies that are coming in the near future that is by far the one that has piqued my interest the most there is now a bang up cast and he terminals full of very very famous people <hes> including angelina jolie and richard madden and camille nanjiani and a whole bunch of other people. I mentioned waves as well. I don't know one waves waves is gonna come out. It might be this year might be next. The trae results film also wrote down tiger tail which is alan yang's netflix movie which i don't know a whole heck of a lot about but i did really admire forever the the series the mini series that he made for amazon starring rudolph in fred arnesen and of course allen has appeared many times on the dave chappelle show and he was a writer on parks and iraq and he was a co ep and writer director on master of none as he's on sorry series just a greater and so i'm very interested to see what he does when he's got a everything at his fingertips yeah. I'm quite a fan of the wholesomeness of his storytelling. In many different occasions is sincere fellow. You can tell yeah <hes> okay. Nick adams asks six and many other people asked us. What is your rewatch ables passion project that no one will agree to do so a little bit of inner working here at the rare that you're trying to lob before i. I honestly don't know i don't really want to do there will be blood for obvious reasons. I think that there will be blood is masterpiece of the twenty first century. I don't think that bill was opposed to it. <hes> i think the bills trying to cycle through every last damn michelman movie before we get a chance to do that which is fine gonna fire all the bullet out of the chamber. The thing is is if bill does black hat before i you get a chance to do there will be blood. <hes> i'm going to be very concerned about my future. You know that's just one of those things you know. Michael man is brilliant director and i admire great many of his films. I understand the desire to do the last of the mohicans and there's a handful of others that he hasn't done a final thing has been remarkable. I just there will be blood needs to happen and i'm waiting on that. I i've already created so many podcasts and content options here and at cranleigh in an effort to talk about there will be blood. I wrote about the tenth anniversary of the film. We did a two thousand and seven seven top fives podcast here. I just really love digging my teeth into that movie so that's that's. That's my hope. I don't think no one's agreeing to per se but that's where i wanna go a two thousand seven. The top fives podcast for you to talk about there will be blood is just like shifts kiss. You know my lifestyle okay here. A few different people ask about this. Schwartz is being one of them <hes> suggestions from the criterion channel. You've talked about it a few times. A lot of people who listen to this podcast probably have it myself included in it can be kind of wall of old movies that you don't know that well so are there a few that stick out or if you filmmakers out for you. It's so hard to do this because it's so hard to know what people are not familiar with. I'm always surprised surprised by some people have an extraordinary depth of knowledge about the work of akira kurosawa but they don't know anything about nicolas roeg right. So how do you decide what to say. You really really should watch this because there are certain canonical films that i think people are familiar with but maybe they're not the first handful that i wrote down where the red shoes powell and pressburger film and bicycle thieves leaves which are to significantly different non hollywood productions that are striking and sort of their beauty and their intimacy and their importance to the future of filmmaking and their films are from the forties and fifties and <hes> i would just plainly recommend those to any living person i would just say watch the reg dare you to watch the red shoes and not be moved then. There's some other things that are passions of mine that other people may be interested in or not. I wrote down there which is pedroia motive our film kind of preparing for painting glory his new movie coming up. I think there are six or seven almodovar's films on the criterion channel right now. I don't think he'd really do poorly to watch any of them. I wrote down the manchurian candidate which is actually a criterion collection. Blu ray that i spent hard earned money on because i i love that movie so much. It's john frankenheimer her. <hes> sort of espionage paranoia thriller from the early sixty s that is one of the most sophisticated complicated evocations nations of <hes> political insanity that you can ever see and certainly feels relevant to this exact moment. I wrote down aguirre the wrath of god which is one of the masterpieces astra pieces made by a former big picture guest verna herzog. If you wanna see klaus kinski going for it check out aguirre the wrath of god and then you know the one of the great things that the service does is they organize certain collections by director. I'm obviously obsessed with directors. That's why i'm talking to so many of them. On this show. I just done a handful that would be good. I mentioned herzog. I mentioned nicholas rogue who passed away earlier this year and who adam neiman has written about for the site directed movies like walkabout and don't look now performance <hes> the man who fell to earth i. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those movies. Those are all in the service. I wrote on carol reed families cavalry bobby. I'm not so carol reed's the director of the third man which is my favorite move. You've all time and he has a very underrated career. The third man which i believe is celebrating its seventieth anniversary in about a month is widely understood as one of the best movies ever made but he's got a few more that are a little bit under seen include odd man out in the fallen. Idol are the two that i would really really early underlying and i would also point out <hes> our man in havana which is a great alec guinness movie that also appears on the criterion channel so that's just a handful of recommendations and then the aforementioned enjoy a hog her three movies before the souvenir..

"So Akwa FINA. Who of the you mentioned earlier is the stunned up formats in the entire film? I mean, just there were bits where I was crying with laughter, which never happens. He as you know, I normally cry with stories meant suddenness. And she is just, I mean, phenomenon, but the cast across the whole pace is remarkable and with such a big cast of characters and with you know this on some bowl and with so many kind of individuals stories being told it would be easy for this film together little bit muddled and loss, but have to say the director John to who kind of has a couple of step, put movies, and some Justin Bieber life films kind of in east filmography keeps hold of these characters in these narrative threads with such precision with such confidence that you never lose your way in this film that you never feel overwhelmed by everything happening. The cinematography is lush and rich and the the kind of convincing nature of how rich they are, the umbilical and the scale of this film is just rendered so well visually on screen. So I really, really, really loved this film. It really surprised me in that. I didn't expect it's be as emotional as genuinely funny as well. Britain's it was, and I think reminded me of Rome comes of years past like your when Harry met Sally kind of Rome com, which is it's just a really well made really well scripted, really a film with front Tustin performances and takes me back to the glory days of from comes and made me feel sad that there's room comes on more often these days, and it's become a germ which people snare too easily or don't show the respect that it wants kind of garnered. I mean, there's just joyous Joyce as two hours of pure joy at the cinema. I is often was, well, we always talk about what kind of empire films are, and this is a big mainstream film that you will go out and you'll come out two hours later. Just thinking that was a great movie. It was really purely enjoyable movie. That has a lot of interesting things going on under the surface that you can read into. The Terry searched on, but also you'll just come out thinking that was great. Had such a good time and the the tax is so charming constants. Woo Henry Golding. I was sentenced to Allah Gibbs the press screening for this anytime rounds the end. He was like, oh, Henry Henry Golding bond I can. I can see that he's so swamped. He so slick and he. So he's such a caring character. I one thing I really like in only riches review. The he picked out was that he is the film you you believe is kind of a problem for Rachel. The her boyfriend is like massively rich because I was thinking before going in Oso like the problem is the like he's massively rich and like, what? What? Why is that problem? Then? Actually, I think the films is a really good job of justifying that it looks amazing. So visually vibrant and lavish. And there's a scene Eliane where they have just ride in Singapore, and they go out to a market for some street food, and they sit down on the table and it's just a like a table full of all this amazing looking food, and they just this is like a food film as well came out and -solutely ravenous isn't everything film. Maybe it made me want to immediately go to Singapore obsessed with that massive hotel. This three. With the big boat thing on this kind of stay there, but I can probably walk past him. That's probably what I do. But yes, full of fast cars and lavish locations, and great clothes and Aquafina. Bien. Funny. I thought this was a lot of fun. I was slightly skeptical about it because I thought it was just can be a big, big broad comedy going in, and it is that. But you're as you say, Terry does have a little bit more than people might expect. I really enjoyed the central relationship between Constance wound Henry Golding who yes should be being looked. He, here's the thing going. I can be Cavill is now freed up to be the next bond. But if they wanna go elsewhere, I think Henry Golding with this, Nick speaks simple favor, which are his first films. Astonishingly are, as I films has put his very much in the ring..

"Okay. Andrew with you think of a simple favor. So so I have not seen this film, but however the marketing campaign has hooked me because I've seen, you know, the girls have been on all the talk shows and there's a social media command if you've noticed it on your iphones. So I'm very intrigued by this film. Okay. Let me ask you a question to you. What are you expecting? Because I have concerns about this marketing. What does it? What does it if you were to give me a couple of movies that it's making you think of? So it's making me think of what's the movie with Ryan Phillippe pay the old school, ceremonial Geller, a cruel attention role intention. Yeah, that okay. It's making me think it's like a sexy thriller with comedic undertones. Okay. Well, this, what it is my concern with the marketing this is I'm worried about this movie because I'll preface this by saying, I liked this movie a lot. I think this is a really sharp movie and the kind of bobble the ending a little bit. But for the most part, I really, really liked this. I'd like to see Paul really stretching himself as a director. I think that the marketing for this movie is making it come off almost like gone girl on one extreme because I've, I've heard some people talk about. That's what they're expecting that with this movie. No, no, that was state. It fits your feet. Fincher has this really, really dark tone and feed doesn't right fee is this really lighter filmmaker and as much as he is, this is absolutely film Noir story. Yep. This is not a dark nor right. Like I would argue even if you're looking at dark stories by guy like Spielberg Spielberg's got a real like humanist kind of optimistic view and even inferior stuff where he's really, you know, poking at people like he's got this humanist optimistic view in his filmmaking and that's what's going on here. I think that there is terrific chemistry. Yes, lean Kendrick and lively, and I would absolutely watch them do more movies together. This movie does go. And a lot of really interesting places. I think look, Blake, lively is crazy sexy in this movie. I changed us great. It's a great performance. She's this. She's imagine like the overwork mom cry like the overworked mom version. Of fem Vitol. That's what you have here, right? Anna Kendrick is she's the character that you'd see in a Hitchcock movie who gets caught up in things bigger than she is. I'm glad you brought that up. Right? It caused a movie. Does feel like Hitchcock movie of sorts of sorts? I who's it in rear window. Grace, Kelly, what? No. No, the the lead the Jimmy Stewart, right? Like she, she makes me think like she's kind of in Jimmy Stewart spot guy. I want to see this movie. It's really good for the most part like she she starts off is this like innocent, but yet smart, you know, over achieving. And then as you unpack her a little bit and the movie takes, it's time to unpack who she is, and what's great is. By the time you get to the end of the movie and bigger things are happening. The movie is laid enough groundwork that it really earns those beat. So when you see kendricks character make these really, really sharp moves well, they've earned that right, and I and those people that watch me on what the flick will know that that's one of my drinking words. Like we say, earned. Plenty, but but I really liked this movie and I also liked the guy who was the husband who we just saw in crazy, rich Asians. I'll Henry Henry Golding. I think he's great in this. I think he'd be a great JAMES BOND if we're looking to castrate anyway, everybody'll be mad, Asian change anyway. This movie's really fun. It is. It's one of those movies that go in with an open mind because you know, I think some of the Knox are gonna get this movie is that it's neither Fisher foul. It's it is a mystery, but it's got a lot of humor to it, but it is not. It's not the spoof that you get with spy. Spy. I heard there's a lot of martinis in the film. There are a lot of martinis fly similar to Edgar Reitz movies, which is spice an effective spy. Spy movie that spoofs spy movies, right? Edgar right makes an effective zombie movie, but he spoofs them with. He he can do action, movies that are spoofs of action, movies, but are still good action movies like hot fuzz. This one is not spoofing the mystery. Yeah, I didn't think of it as boot. Right. And I'm, I'm a little worried. People are going to go into that, but this is this is a lighter, but still really smart mystery and I liked it a lot. Okay. I look at it more as a as a dark comedy thriller Hitchcock in some ways because yes, Anna Kendrick does play like the gym in store role. And what I like about Anna Kendrick in the film is her arc, like he starts to move, he's totally naive. She's a real push over and like as an actor as an actor for an actor to play the kind of arc that Anna Kendrick does in this movie is a testament to her how how great of an actor she is and Blake, lively is fantastic in the movie. I love the mystery of it like who is displayed lively character? Where did she go? Why did she want to be friends with Anna? Kendra is really is Hitchcock in blonde like that. That mysterious. Tentage how she absolutely is. And just the setup and the mystery of like, where's this going like the more I was asking questions about the film, the more I liked it. The problem is at the end. Okay. And here's what I know spoiler. This is there's no score from this is not going to spoil, but net you mentioned talking about the last movie that white boy Rick ended strong and another movie didn't. I'm assuming you're talking about a simple favor. I thought it the the problem with the ending of a simple favor. Again, spoilers is that it's over explained. It goes on. So there's right, there's every there's two problems I have with the ending. Here is one. I think by the time they get to the very end, they've written themselves into a corner. Yeah. And so at that point, like any explanation because they've, they've spent so many times laying out, oh, but then this and that, and this, that by the time you get something, it's going to be unsatisfying coupled with. There's one particular scene that I'm not going to spoil this, but there's one particular scene and people want to see the movie, hit me on Twitter and asked me about it. I'll explain which one it is. There's one scene where you feel like they're setting something up that it it tips into like unreliable. Narration and that somewhat bugged me. But again, I'm really liked this movie. I think Anna Kendrick is great. What movie this? This is. This is a measure of how old you and I are this and I'll tell you what this makes me think of two movies. Silver streak. Oh, I love silver streak. And what was the other one that they did where they were in jail. Oh, stir crazy crazy. Yeah. So you put these two comedic actors in a mystery movie, but right in a Ordina stall. That's great. And that's Paris. So those two movies and you don't see movies like that anymore. Right? Silver streak is a mystery movie seventy six, right? And it's gene wilder and Richard Pryor and they play off each other and they have great comedic timing. But gene wilder character is in a mystery in that movie like it's, it's like you dropped these two comics into what would otherwise be this kind of straightforward. Mystery movie and stir-crazy is somewhat the same way because it ends up being almost drama about prison life. Yeah, right. And what if you drop to comedic actors in that? So

Anna Kendrick Hitchcock Jimmy Stewart Blake Ryan Phillippe gene wilder Edgar Reitz Spielberg Spielberg Andrew Geller Henry Henry Golding Twitter Fincher Ordina director Paul JAMES BOND Paris Knox
