"Folks for the weekend edition of a dual large here on ninety three WBZ continuing our trip this afternoon across the state of Indiana talking to my political friends getting some perspectives outside the four sixty five doughnut county bubble right now, though. Join us news good, buddy. Jeremiah morale? He as a libertarian out in Henry county also running for the Henry county council to give us some perspective out an eastern, Indiana, Jeremiah, my friend, thanks for being with us. We appreciate it, buddy. Great to be with you today. Bill, so my friend, how are things looking out in the eastern portion of Indiana where you are. Seeing seeing lots and lots of activity from local candidates, you know, in the county council braces as I'm going door to door and finding trails that are candidates that have been there as well. The it doesn't seem like the national issues are really translating out here in the in the areas. I'm in a lot of how do we agree to get along and use land together is a big big factor. Henry county, the number one issue that people ask about no matter. What race you running for is is wind and went ordinances in Delaware County, months area, just to our north. We're seeing a lot of candidates having having discussions about about hauled operations and commercial commercial eating and trying to figure out how we all feed each other. And how we live out here together and this mixture between development and agriculture, and that's that's really been the theme. A lot of local issues with people in eastern rural parts of the state now, it's funny because you would think that if you just turn on the television all anybody was talking about was no cavenaugh hearings. Yeah. As as I got to this last weekend, my myself and my team we got to about six hundred dollars going door to door my race. I had one person that cared about Trump and wanted to know how I felt about Mike Brown as a person. But the supreme court didn't come up. It was it's really been the local stuff. I. I don't know the the the the big major parties are are getting in touch with people on the ground out here with the door to door even the materials that these guys have you don't see the Bronner Donnelly stuff. It's it's mostly just a local candidates that are getting their things out. Yard signs for those campaigns. And it's funny because I didn't ask you about that. Because obviously there's talking about quote, unquote, the Blue Wave the Democrats are in enthusiastic, they're they're they're they're fired up got Republicans say, no, we're organized. We've got the the superior ground game. But it looks like from my friend from from your perspective. Lisa your neck of the woods. Now. If if Republicans and Democrats are doing something today at eight necessarily a whole lot in your in your part of the state, not particularly you know, early on in the primary season. You would see the Republican candidates came through and visited, but but now at this point. It's hard to find a Republican candidate, you know, the Republican incumbent candidate in for county Commissioner in in Delaware County, isn't showing it. But forums, you're seeing that, you know, Greg tense isn't during the debates locally here. In a lot of folks are trying to keep away from the search area state level all the way down to the county council and county commissioners races. Where people just aren't participating in forums. I don't know if the culture from from the top down on the Trump side or what it is. But we're starting to see candidates and keep away with voters. And it's going to be interesting to see what kind of reaction, I get. Now. Do you think that just might be because people assume that where you are which is a sixth congressional district. Greg Pence's running where Mike Pence spa used to be in Luke Messer is just so Republican that it's not worth expending a whole lot of time and energy and effort because not a whole lot. It's going change. It's a high risk. You know, I it's highly risky know as a as a candidate. I'm no matter what my situation is. I would be out there talking to voters, and and and talk, you know. Participating in the local forums and doing the kinds of things that Jim Baird is doing in Roquetas district. But in this case they've made the calculated decision that they're just not gonna participate in indicates even even Mike pants when I was in high school Mike Pence is running for congress. And I remember him debating in two thousand or two thousand two with Bob rock and in big Frazier in at ball state when he was applying for the job in the house. It's it's really disappointing to see how we've got a potential congressman. That's just never going to have a debate. It's it's it's surreal, and we're seeing it a cost from the statewide side to all the way down the county Commissioner and county council levels in some of these races are just there's a good friend. Jeremiah morale, Jeremiah Israel's podcast boss hawk for liberty. As you can hear the weird libertarians network. Also, a cannon for the Henry county council, and by the way, a libertarian as well like I said, we'd be talking this week to a Republican democrat and libertarian friends. So it's good to have Jeremiah on to find out. What's going on out in east? Central indiana. Jeremiah, Kennesaw, circling back to the to the Senate race one of the big things that Democrats have talked about what sort of running candidates everywhere. And at the end of the day that will help Joe Donnelly out in your neck of the woods or you guys seen more Democrats on the ballot. Then he usually are no Ginnie Ginnie lake is running for congress out there, and she's gotten a little bit of a boost from David Letterman. She has she's she's actually on a tour right now look thinks she's making it every county in the district within within nineteen days. So both she and Tom Burke in office and have been doing what they can to to drive vote totals up. I've been impressed with her. I don't go down came through town some point last month and visited one of the senior centers. So he's he's had some. Some contact with the locals, but you know, we are seeing you know, three or four different races. Where there are. There are democrat lines in the ballot eastern Israel communities. You know, eighty five ninety percent of the offices are controlled by the controlled by the Republicans. And you know, you had you had a massive purge in the in the primary over here with with three of the incumbents losing on that side. You know, it's it's a different culture. It's a different culture. But the Democrats are trying where they where they think they have opportunities and some of these, you know, Newcastle Muncie and Anderson in the in the city limits, they're so strong UAW and democrat base that that they can they can get some votes out. Now, let me ask you this because when the races am actually paying attention to up in your neck of the woods is a state Senate race between Democratic Senate minority leader, Tim, Landon and a gentleman by the name of African American attorney who's running as a Republican. He's got yard signs are billboards all over the place is been sort of named. That eighteen watch watching eighteen by one the national Republican groups are you hearing anything and and that race in particular because I know there was some some scuttle bug for a while that Tim Landon was actually really nervous because for the first time he's actually had sort of a real opponent. He's he's giving it the old college try. I'm very interested to see how the results in that race turn out. I think the the way that the legislature has drawn the district's up that one is the heart of Muncie in the heart of the heart of Anderson. There's a seat that was held by by Senator Doug equity that is also an open seat that I think is probably going to be closer. And has I think that one's a little bit more in doubt than the than Mr Lehtinen seat? But if there's if they lose that one it's going to be a big big day for the Republicans or jokingly saying, it'd be it'd be amazing that the Democrats split everywhere except for the one place where they should have line which should be that one when it comes to political Arnie, Jeremiah get ready to wrap up our conversation here. What would you say? In your part of the state is is the mood. How was the electorate feeling right now? Because a lot of times you hear the people just sort of sick and tired and fed up with politics, for example in watch the cavenaugh hearing. Last week. There's no sort of a pox on both your houses. That's absolutely the case. I think anybody that's had any sort of incumbency has has felt the sting of the voters in this area. There's a there's a big distrust and anybody that takes an oath of office next year is going to have work to do to repair into earn during the trust of the electorate. There's a lot of breezes and a lot of fights over over local issues, and then the national level, and and we just need a time of healing around here. I'm hoping I'm hoping to voters stick me in November. And I have I have a chance to be a part of that myself. How are libertarians doing on the neck of the woods because I know there's always been sort of back and forth strategy of deer. Run people everywhere. Do you just run people in certain places to try to run up vote totals? How Harold libertarians getting bid welcomed this time around? I think we haven't really strong conversations. There's there's a handful of races where we're very active in my race. We probably will spend more money than Republican or democrat candidates because we've raised the money, and we've taken a very very professional approach to to our campaign. I think that the libertarians have had the opportunity to to. Really win some races this year. And if not even if you don't book libertarian, I think that we've helped shape the conversation and try to try to hold the Republican and democrat parties to their talking points. Everybody sounds a little bit more libertarian on election day. But when it comes to January, and you start governing and start to you start to swim away from that. Question for you, my friend biggest misconception folks here in the four sixty five bubble have about folks on the eastern portion of the state of Indiana. I think the people out here we love to work live and play with everyone else. It's a it's an easy drive to get down to Indianapolis premier. I talked to talk to her buddy, Chris Bengal, all the time about it. I you know, I said I'm forty five minutes from downtown Indianapolis, but I can go to a breakfast spot here. And I know the owner and half the staff by name. It's it's really a great spot for bedroom community or to want to build a business right right out here in the hinterlands between Dayton Indy. Well, depending on where you are in Indianapolis also takes you forty five minutes to get downtown. So there you go, my friend. Our guest has been Jeremiah morale, Jeremiah libertarian, those podcast, boss Hogg liberty that you can find on the we are libertarians podcast network. And also a candidate for the Henry county council out in that neck of the woods, Jeremiah, my friend. Thank you very much with us nothing. But the best lucky racism, we appreciate you taking time to talk to us. Thank you very much Bill.
