"Yeah. I agree. And I. Think. This is one of those cases where it might have helped not to star studded the cast. Yeah. I. Mean. Bonham Carter is definitely underused and Henry Cobbles Pretty underused and. Know if those had been. Non illustrators you know it might have been a little bit. To hang them put them in the in the background you know. Sorry for a second thought, it wasn't recording all the time but I am off. It would have been easier as viewer to to put them off to the side like the story. So clearly wanted them to be, but it's like you're staying cats Helena Bonham Carter. That's Henry Kabo very famous people you know so. Yeah Like the the the Lord the young Lord, you know he's he's pretty relatively unknown. So I think that worked. For Him. I did not I was not a huge fan nor am I in general a huge fan of the fourth wall. Narration I just think that does not add a whole lot and it. Feels again it feels a bit obligatory. It's very much telling not showing feel like that was in there for For the kids. Because there were a lot of time she turned to the camera made a joke or. You know like she was trying to figure something out and she turned to the camera was like, do you have any ideas? You know things like that? It's like, yeah. Yeah, you know. Stuff that. Is kind of underhanded. Not Not for US adults. That's fair. What you mean. A. As we've talked about a little bit overall with the length and what is there there's just not a whole lot of memorable moments. It flows. Fairly quickly through things and I felt like I didn't get a whole lot of time to really settle in with a certain scene or with certain characters. I thought probably one of the best scenes as short as it is is when she's walking with the older lady through the woods about halfway through the movie I like that because it felt like the movie kind of came to a halt in a good way. Like it was just a peaceful conversation after all of this pretty manic action and. So it's it's a it's a decent time waster. You know I don't know if it's anything amazing nor is it really trying to be i? Don't think but.

"You wanted the same. We can ever persuade you to put any trousers on. You'll bottom always bear. Think that's all the memories I have. Thank you. If you could now forget the mall. Okay. Enola Holmes. is now on Netflix six, it is directed by Brad Beer and it stars Meli Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill Sam Claflin. Helena Bonham Carter Louis Partridge. And maybe a couple of others. These synopsis is when a Nola Holmes Sherlock Teens Oh my Gosh I am not a talk today. When a nola Holmes Sherlock's teen sister discovers her mother missing sheet sets out to find her becoming a super sleuth in her own right as she outlets her famous brother and unravels dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord. So this one just premiered on net flicks to pretty good acclaim pretty big a claim. Jacob were you you looking forward to this one? Because I guess it's fitting that you and I are doing this because we talked about the to Robert Downey Junior Sherlock Holmes Films on the Guy Ritchie Bonus show. So it's Not yet I thought it would be I thought it would be a fun time and it was you know it was it was a decently fun family friendly time. Sure you know. No Oscar winning. Performances. By. The. Don't always need that Gee See that A. They're being sued already are they By the by the CONAN doyle. Estate Oh boy on because they were they were claiming the CONAN doyle estate was claiming that the last couple of books. In, the. Whole Sherlock. Series was when Sherlock started to become a more like carrying in. Only, sort of person instead of the calculating cold harsh person he is, and they're like, it's clearly what Henry Cavill is portraying and he was just like I was just acting men. Just like how does it feel to be sued for your acting? Like like nothing surprises me anymore interesting. Okay. Well, so overall, you were a fan of this one. Elected yeah. I like me Bobby Brown you know it's nice to see her getting more roles outside of stranger things. You know. Hello Bonham Carter. Always. Great. I really liked Henry cobbles performance says Sherlock. I've seen a lot of comes from a lot of actors take up the role and I liked what he brought to it ally. I'm not like the biggest Henry cavill fan to begin with. But um I did really like his turn as Sherlock Holmes. You know I was it was a lot different from what we saw out of. Benedict cumberbatch who played it as a very cold sort of you know, and then probably done junior just played him as this like absolute loon. Henry cavill Henry cavill turned into almost normal. Performance for Sherlock you know. It's like just a regular guy. Microsoft's. Big Dick Though huge huge Dick, huge sugar guy. Yeah. I hadn't really heard much about it. I had heard that the trailer was out other than that I didn't have a whole lot of interest in. I liked it. I certainly didn't love it I think by far the biggest issue for me and it's fairly broad, but it's just too long. I thought there wasn't enough story there to really warrant it's run time. That's actually probably one of the few issues I have with the Robert Downey Junior Sherlock Holmes films is that they just feel too bloated or they they feel overly long for what the story is. That being said. Plenty of movies have storytelling problems, but half of them don't have as charismatic performance as. This one does with Millie Bobby Brown. As I've talked about on the show. Plenty. I'm not a huge stranger things fan. I get the appeal of a bed just doesn't do a whole lot for me so I don't have a whole lot of experience with. Millie. Bobby. Brown. That being said. I still think that this performance in terms of her departure from that character and that world it's like you're seeing. It's like this movie is her breakout role and you're like man, this girl is going go places. That's what it felt like in a in a really good way it's like. She easily could not have been and anything else before this and the excitement would still be the same. Yeah. Yeah you touched on it being too long. Agree with that. I also thought that the pacing. And like order of events was very bizarre. Heavy. Spoilers here. It kind of goes from you know her. Finding her mama's gone to meeting the the boy to going to London you know, and she does all this to escape the woman's boarding school, and then she finds out her mom's going to blow up parliament or whatever, and then. She winds up going to the Women's boarding school and then escaping and I'm like I feel like that should have happened at the beginning of the movie if it was going to happen at all and then he comes and rescues her, and then she's like all we need to go to your house and then that's the villain and then. Randomly her mom is back. Yeah I. Am because you solve the case. So you know it's like the events is very out of whack. Yeah and. Touching on that I think the. A lot of the action in the movie felt a little at a place almost like it was. Just obliging what had come before it with the the Robert Downey junior ones in particular. Also, the Guy Ritchie ask style of shooting where it's super rapid cuts and even how some of the action is shot. I felt. It really was very reminiscent of Guy Ritchie. When it did that it just made it feel less original and less individual. I, don't think they're really the energy of the character really warranted that. Style, she is energetic and she is very adventurous, but still it felt like it had to pay homage maybe to the past films but. I overall, the cast is good I. Think Henry Cavill he's a little hit and miss for me as well in this I liked him as sherlock but I don't think the character is written. All that well, I just didn't get a whole lot from that part of the film. Sam. Claflin. I thought was quite good as well. Overall. The performances are solid. There's nothing really that terrible nor that amazing aside from I think the central one. Helena Bonham Carter is under used I feel like she kinda just pop in and out a little bit and I think she could have been more utilized. I think. That a lot of people. are going to have a problem with with Henry Counsel's performance in this movie and I think it's because people are going to view this as a Sherlock Holmes. Movie. When in reality it's her movie. You know right people are going to view this as a Sherlock Holmes story they're going to be like. Why is he Britain so basic Kweisi, barely in the movie you know why is you know his his lines don't really carry that much weight or that much impact him he's Kinda just there and it's like we are because he's a supporting character in this movie but I think people might go into it expecting it to be a Sherlock Holmes Story. But the whole point of it is that it's not that you know he's he's a supporting character in it's it's her story..

Holmes Sherlock Sherlock Holmes Henry Cavill Henry cavill Henry cavill Henry Cavill Sam Claflin Helena Bonham Carter Millie Bobby Brown Nola Holmes Meli Bobby Brown Robert Downey Helena Bonham Carter Louis Par Guy Ritchie CONAN doyle Henry cobbles Henry Counsel Netflix Jacob Benedict cumberbatch Enola Holmes.

"Like he's playing a part as Bruce Wayne, like he is Batman and that's his life and that's that's all that matters to him and the part of Bruce Wayne is is more of the mask. Now that everything he does. In and out of the costume in and out of the cowl is to. Further his his goals as Batman to improve his city even as Bruce Wayne to improve his city through Wayne, enterprises and to. Protect people and to get. Information. For. To you know for his goals Batman his mission. Yeah I mean, he's like he's. That's always the thing like Bruce's is really the mask. Batman is just the person is who really is. You know the mask is just there but. Yeah that's that's one of the things that kind of separate superman. Batman. Bruce Wayne sort of ceased to exist and he became Batman. He's always Batman and now over the years you know he's kind of He still, Batman but he's kind of been allowed to grow into a person. He's he's allowed to mature pass that, and he's still not Bruce Wayne quote unquote he is still and always will be Batman in which is the idea they used for Batman begins that. When Bruce Retired and he was in seclusion not be begins Batman beyond when Bruce Retired and he's in seclusion. Like he's only trying to make the city better but he's still Batman like even that one episode where he thinks he's going crazy when he realizes he's not because he's like I don't call myself Bruce in my head. You know like he is Batman that's that's who he is. Essentially, that's what it boils down to love this. Arise in office WHO's just Bruce Wayne. Hey It's What's your name? Channel. Lynn from black lightning. Lynne Stewart. Is it. Yeah. Yeah. That's that's black lightning's wife rate their. Street, AUB. He casting they're pretty much. That one dude on the board is Christopher Nolan I learned that in another podcast. Really the guy who puts his head up. I assume since they focused on him newscenter frame. What do you call it? I love. That's awesome. Because cress Williams legacy casting to on black lightning. He was an episode. Lewis and Clark is like a Voodoo Shaman that attacks superman? Right. So that is. But you know superman like. Like who he is lies in the middle, you know who he really is lies in the middle like have Kent in in public is kind of lake is is a mask because he's kind of hiding that he's trying to be less than normal. You know he's. Superman is so extravagant and so fantastical like he lies in the middle. So he's almost never who he really is until. He's like. Behind closed doors he's he's always the same person. He just kind of leans one way or the other. Yeah. Like that's the thing about Superman, he's always him. He's always the same person. You just kind of leans one way or the other it's not really an act either way it's just just one way or another. So that way he can. Create separation. Between the two just to just to protect his identity. That's it superman like the superman. Is More a little bit more like confident strong. Clark a little bit more lighthearted. You know and then you have. Him in the middle. That's why I say I like that picture of like. Like in Superman returns you know I think about like that. Him himself is when his mom on the farm not wearing the glasses wearing like the farm close. Unique exactly. That's a great version of him. Then the suit and glasses is like the Clark East shows and then. You Know Superman but well. Like Superman. One minor clip thing on that reef, Superman is like an act like, yeah he's never himself. You know what I mean. He's this bumbling guy that he's really portraying so hard to be Clark and then he superman he's almost never himself and the no the more I don't WanNa say don't like it but it's not my preferred version of Clark Kent. Now Mind a little bit of like Phoenix or awkwardness. But I've always taken the the Clark is supposed to be a generic dull guy that doesn't stand out and if you're too goofy and awkward, you stand out. which. I think Clarkin himself is just kind of naturally socially awkward because because of kind of being sheltered because of who and what he was you know what I mean. So as a person, he's just kind of socially awkward and that's just kind of the way he is. You know what I mean but to like push that to the extremes. Yeah. You you stand out to be that extreme. Whereas Henry Cobbles version, you know. He he's just he's himself but he kind of just leans on that boring farm boy socially awkward person. I'm really to see what tyler does because I liked the little bit I've got with him in. Dean cranes was more Clark focused than it was superman focused ally. Yeah. So we I change sub or I'm hold us away from it. We had Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox whose like. Amazing I mean, he's the voice of God but. Like I. IF I had if I had somebody narrating my life, it's either him or Samuel. Jackson because sometimes you just need some efforts thrown in there I always say. Come, what woody? Gary. Nice. But I love montage of so. The. Part of the reason I wanted to talk about this movie today on Batman Day and and the fact that we know that Matt Reeves Batman is coming as we've got, we've got Bruce Wayne here. We've got this grounded take. We've got Bruce Wayne here he's putting together. He he's he's building it and making it himself to a degree. But all of this technology, the Batmobile, the Tumbler, the grapple gun the Cape. To glide like all this technology developed by his company developed by somebody else and use in him appropriating it. For his for his own purposes. the reeves one I think he's got a similar tape but you know from what from what I can tell from what reeves the.

Bruce Wayne Batman Clark Kent Bruce Bruce Retired Wayne Matt Reeves Lynne Stewart cress Williams Christopher Nolan AUB Henry Cobbles Lynn woody Samuel Gary Morgan Freeman Clarkin
