"Alex Bowman Hendrick motorsports back on the show. Alex welcome back the NASCAR live. Yeah thanks for having me. So you're a winner at Talladega at least on the virtual Sunday afternoon. I liked your tweet after the checkered flag that you don't understand how this could happen. Have you had a chance to process it? And what indeed did happen. Yeah I'm I'm pretty surprised I think a lot of other people are pretty surprised as well I have definitely been on the not taking this super serious side of things when it comes die racing so To to get a win on their with is surprising for me for sure. I Iran one practice race for like twenty five laps all week and Called it good and and Kinda Senate on Sunday so Cloud to get hundred motorsports and other win. I think William is much more talented than I am when it comes to the virtual thing and Just you know. Glad to get US three in a row but Had A lot of fun like I said. I'm confused on on how happened. I guess it got Super Lucky but ZAC that it worked out so how much I rarely experience do. You Have D. Even have a chance to win. Things were in regular life have a chance to do that or is it just one of the things that you've hopped on board with through the stoppage that we've been going through. Yeah you know once we. I think when dirt came out on IRA saying. I completely stopped running the pavement. I racing stuff So it's I'm definitely not a guy with a bunch of experience and You know you look guys like William that that have a big background in it and and have done quite a bit I'm definitely on the opposite side of that spectrum. Well it didn't look that way on Sunday. Congratulations it was a lot of fun to watch. It was as intense as it normally is. I'm sure that from from your perspective. It is a lot different in simulation then real life.

"So many different reason walk INS Glenn is a race track that plays out kind Kinda crazier than than most that we see so it's going to be a packed house. It's been sold out the last couple of years I think it sold out again or close to it so a lot of crazy fans going on. It's just a it's a fundraising and racing the rain last year. I did race in the rain. That was cool. I wish it would rain. I WanNa race in the right. I want to say cup race in the rain. I was hoping for that. I don't think it's got I was praying for last year. Begins coming out right. You're in for a really great forecast but we hope to bring you some pretty pictures from Watkins. The story storylines are going to be great with like you said the fans all the action on the track something else we're going to be watching of. Course you guys talk about that. first time winner chase winning last year for the first time the crowd went crazy <hes> his Hendrick motorsports has been in the news because you mentioned William Byron sort of been on an upswing Jimmy Johnson. This weekend is going to be interesting because he has that the new crew chief and that crew chief you've cliff Daniels is on baby watch his wife do with their first child. So in the in the next few days might come to fruition that he's not even there on his first official weekend. It was a little bit shocked by this Parker. I'm not really sure about I just knowing that the were they were they wanNA stage at Pocono and and the way played out yeah they got kind of backing traffic late in the race so they didn't have a great finish but to make this change. It just shows where they think that forty eight team is that and it needs some help to to make the playoffs I mean they're outside the cutoff line so a late change. I felt like but something they feel like it's real necessary to try to move that team forward and I I find this fascinating move because I don't think we in this sport really sort of think about last ditch efforts like this. We don't think about personal change. We've seen it maybe on the pit crew side. We've even seen motorsports change mid race but this is a very innovative move to say okay. We're starting to see the demarcation line for making the playoffs right. Where a couple of races out? This team now looks exit. Their situation says we have to make a change and that's how they're going to go about it and this is sort of their last ditch effort to say okay. We need this forty eight car in the playoffs. What can we do? We're not gonNA change Jimmy Johnson out right. We're not going to suddenly find new special parts to make this car faster. We've got to change some sort of dynamic on this team. So it's a fascinating move. I think a lot of race these teams within the sport are going to watch this move closely because if it pays off get used to this in the future because this could be something that sort of happens more often. I don't think it's a great thing cruces because the pressure down ramps up to not a whole season but just a partial part of the regular season but it's something that race teams are going to have to look at because this is if this works very innovative move and if you're looking at it in football terms. It's like bringing in your backup quarterback because you're not you're not gonNA change driver out especially if it's a seven time on champion but you just need a spark whether it's new ideas whatever it is that team just Khanna's been stagnant and they need a spark. Maybe this is it well. I know it's something we're going to be discussing on Nascar American countdown to green because on our conference call this week <hes> D._J.. In K._p.. Both had some strong feelings and opinions on that so make sure you tune in on Sunday for that but let's go to IMSA wrote America another great track fans outstanding. There is a story like can you kind of reset because I was with you guys. Is it Rolex Long Beach. The start of the year and the big story was Ken Mazda Win. They have flipped the script yeah and this'll be as you said a reset because for the first time in over a month once all the classes running back together Parker you where lime rock we're just a G._T.. Only field so mazda for it seems like eternity is really been trying signed to win a race and all of a sudden they have tuna row going for three in a row at road America.

Blaney, Keselowski, Logano detail Roger Penske's Hall of Fame pursuit of perfection

"You would be hard pressed to find anyone more respected in the garage area than Roger Penske says competitor and friend Rick Hendrick of Hendrick motorsports. As one of my best friends, I have nothing but respect for him what he's accomplished is unbelievable role. It's unbelievable to see someone that can win and Formula one and and open wheel and and went all the championships. And do the things he thought I don't know how he doesn't. He's a perfectionist. Then as again, I I admire him in. Poll them in the high regard the motor racing network. Congratulates the newest member of the NASCAR hall of fame Roger Penske. All three of Roger Penske's Cup series drivers drove to victory lane in two thousand eighteen and one of those drove to a championship Joey Logano in its tenth full time season in the Cup series is going to win the two thousand eighteen zero man, I honestly, I I would have thought he'd been inducted into the hall of fame along before this after seeing what he's given to our sport into our community. You know, I think it's one of the best kept secrets in our sport. Sometimes you forget when you watch these videos of all the race ones. You forget that he built a lottery strikes. You forget that you know, his whole businesses built them on racing. You know, he's here we had our fiftieth anniversary of NBN racing years ago. Now, you know, so what a great honor for him to to be able to to be inducted into. You know, what is the biggest award? You can get in our sports. So I'm so excited to be there. Into watch it and to be part of that. And it couldn't come at a better time after you win a championship. And then you cap it off with being inducted into the NASCAR hall of famers is that it's well deserved for a man that has a big heart. But also won't you won't ever.

"Redbook Millan. This is one of those Indiana editions. Got the two Hoosier natives here. Go ahead. Dusted atom here, and we're gonna have a lot of fun for this six hour here. Glad to have you with us. I asked the question in the teaser, Dustin. Are we gonna have another big three this year? Or was that a one-off where you had this three guys? I mean, we coined the term we used to so many times last year. I of like to get away from it. But we may be headed that direction. Again. I don't I don't know if you're going to see it again. And and reason I say that is in part is with the new rules package. I think it's going to be wide open. Now earlier this week was at Hendrick motorsports. Talking with some of the officials the crew cheese and talking with Alin Gustafson, you know, one of the things that he said I thought was interesting is when we're talking about the rules package. How would it impact? Thanks. He's like look a lot of the same guys. That are good. I mean, it's the same guys that are good are going to be up there. The teams that are good. They're going to be very, you know, the point being is not like with this package. At least he doesn't believe you're gonna see somebody who was, you know, thirty thirty fifth in the point suddenly come up and be a factor week after week after week. They're still a lot of details. A lot of intricacies where the drivers still going to matter in ways and the team still going to matter in that sense. I still think you're going to see some I don't think you're going to see the big three. I think there's going to be a little bit more balance. And maybe. Harvick is still good. But there's some other ones. And and I guess the question I'd say with even with having big through like a Kevin Harvick is what will be like out of the gates every every year is different. I understand that. But if you look at the last couple of years Toyota and particularly Chevrolet had some struggles at the beginning of the season where it wasn't. They weren't strong cross the board of furniture row for Toyota. Mark tricks junior won some races early. But it took. I think until the nineteenth race before. Joe Gibbs racing won that season Chevrolet teams other than Austin Dillon winning the Daytona five hundred it wasn't until Watkins Glen that you saw chase Elliott win for Hendrick motorsports. So my question is in that sense is will it can Kevin Harvick or a fourteen be a part of that? And if the Fords have some struggles, or even if it's Team Penske or Stewart Haas that suddenly opens up some wins or some other people does that mean Chevrolet cars start getting back into victory lane or some Toyota. So I don't I don't think you're going to see a big three at this. Point or at least the same three. And I think things will be a little bit different going into the season. How do you see that? Well, I I definitely don't think there will be the the same big three. I I wouldn't rule anything out, and and I kinda playoff what Dustin said there you look at Kevin Harvick in in the one challenge that he will have and repeating his success from two thousand eighteen when he had a career year with those eight victories is the fact that they are changing to Ford and whatever growing pains come with that. So that's the thing for him. You look at Martin tricks junior who oh, by the way, despite the fact he was part of the big three he didn't win in the last half of the season. His last victory was Kentucky, July, and really if you look at his numbers. He didn't lead a tunnel laps throughout the playoffs with the exception of a couple of races early. And he's got a big change in their going away from this live on an island. Do things our own way at furniture row to being a part of the family in house at Joe Gibbs racing. So I think both of those guys that were very much a part of the big three have some hurdles to climb at least in the. The early portion of two thousand nineteen to me. That's what really slants things in the direction accomplished having a great year. No big changes for him. He he just wanted to drivers to win multiple races in the playoffs in two thousand eighteen I just feel like that team has really set up for another outstanding year. And if anybody is going to be added into the big three mix, I think you have to look at Team Penske because across the board. They were really really good to finish out twenty eight. But again that's a fourteen and that's exactly, but I mean, but that doesn't necessarily take anything away even if they struggled early on. It's it's about being better at the end of the season. You still intimidate those guys winning races getting into the playoffs. It's just a question of if if there are some teams that are struggling to how much that opened the door for other other teams and if somebody does a Chevrolet team or does a Toyota team come in and win three or four or five races. And suddenly, you know, some drivers build up a ton of playoff points or couple drivers do early on. That helps them come playoff time. It gives them that cushion to to kind of go far. And that that will certainly change things. But yeah, I think you know, I tell you a guy that really intrigues me for this season would be Denny Hamlin. You went winless last year crew chief change. You know, you figure the Toyotas are still going to be strong for as good as Kyle Busch. Was you know, it was kinda surprising. Denny. You know there were some races. They were good and couldn't finish it off. He had a few chances. And there was some races where they had a lot of speed but couldn't put the whole package together in the races. And that's that's that's one guy that I'm kind of going to keep an eye on to see what they can do how they pick things up. Can they can they be better? Or is it going to be some of the same things or or they're going to have some issues early in the season? Just because of the driver crew chief combination being be new this season. But that's that's one guy. You know, you talk with the Penske's. I kind of keep an eye on Denny Hamlin over there. Well to kind of support the argument, and you made the point earlier at of of no big three this year. I mean, take a look at last year. The big three did all their winning or most of their winning the first twenty six races. Yep. You know, the last ten races had a much wider variety of people winning races. And it wasn't the big three amid tricks. Like you said one his last race in Kentucky. Harvard darva gate of any wins in that in the. After one Texas. Yeah. I think but you still have the big three in the final four. You know, you still they still well. Yeah. But they still. Being in the final four was kinda back to the point. You may they had such a great regular season. They had built up this enormous cushion. Yeah. And outside of Joey Logano winning at martinsville. The apple cart was not upset in the round of eight to pull one of them out that my biggest fear in in in the way the sheet bullets in the theory of having a great regular season. Is you get multiple winners in the round of eight. And you're not one of them in all of the sudden you got guys going to Miami. The you're like, whoa. I didn't expect him to be here in in a way Joey Logano would fit that category. He wins at martinsville. He's not someone maybe that we had pencilled in. Now, you get some, you know, Kurt Busch goes in and wins a Texas now one of the big three is not going to go to Miami. It all worked out in the main reason it worked out for the big three to make it to my Amy is they had all of those playoff points and this scenario set up with Kevin Harvick winning at Texas in Kabul winning at Phoenix that you didn't have another driver outside of that fraternity that. Was able to make it down. If you have problems doesn't matter how many playoff points you have. I mean, you think a couple of years ago Kyle Larson and how he seemed to be in a good position. And had what was it an engine failure a couple issues like that in Kansas? And he was done. And because everybody's saying that was that was the year couple of years ago when true that you know, some people are saying for as good as as dominance tricks have been that season Larsen got to Miami. And was one of the final four Larson would have been the favourite over true axe despite tricks is great season. But because of how good Larson is at that track. So, you know, it's I think Larson if anybody had any doubts showed how important is to keep building playoff points through the regular season and not be satisfied with three wins, not be satisfied with four wins, not be satisfied five wins and get those stage points because man, you may need them later in the year type of thing. But if somebody comes in and upsets the apple cart. I don't have a problem with that. I mean, you know, one of the great things about sports or about the upset. I mean, you think back to the NC double a basketball tournament last year. Was it you NBC the sixteenth seed knocking off Virginia. I mean, that's the story. I mean, nobody I mean, look, you NBC a lot of people say. No business being in that in that tournament. Ellison. They knocked off the number one seat is first time I've ever happened. I mean that was the story they gene without all this. Eric Admiral has a great regular season. And there were a lot of naysayers about what impact he would have in the play offs successfully gets through the opening round wins in Talladega in round two. And here's a driver that that is now in position given some circumstances. Trouble by someone else. Good pit, call whatever it may be he pushed himself on the doorstep of making the championship four. So I think this format certainly does set up four four surprise. And when you look at the way, the schedules sixteen with Jimmy winning the championship that he was not the best car. He was the fourth of four down there. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. So what is a realistic win total for maybe the winningest driver. We'll find out what these guys think we come back. The Reilly auto parts of it reporters..

"We could save Jimmy Johnson's glad to have twenty eighteen in the rear view mirror. Oh that actually going to play out pretty well. Here isn't it? Because not only winless, but he finishes twenty eighteen by backing into his babysitters brand new car damaging that hoops. Oops. I'm sure she'll be okay. Sure. Available. Puff out. Jimmy does tweet bigger. Oh, where are you going to need you? Apparently Jimmy doesn't understand these backup cameras exist. Jim Hendrick motorsports. Chase Elliott does come on at the end of the year. But you gotta wonder how well I'd say you gotta wonder how much of this was the new Chevy how much of it was Hendrick motorsports. But for Hendrick kind of kind of went back a half a year before that didn't it. Yeah. And I actually think it's been going on a little bit longer than that. When you think about that, even before then the only net was winning at Hendrick was Jimmy Johnson, which kind of two years ago. May disguise the fact when they want some early races and then didn't win again the rest of that season may have covered up. The fact that the organization as a whole was already starting to struggle. And then it's just, but I do think they've rounded a corner. And I and the Hendrick motorsports team is part of one of my bold predictions for two thousand and nineteen. I suspect there will be two. Hendrick drivers in the final four homestead in two thousand nineteen chase Elliott, which is probably not going to be a surprise for anyone. And I suspect a lot of people are going to pick him as a championship contender. But I also believe that Jimmy Johnson will be back in the final four. I think that this is the.

"Seventy seven drivers sponsor and alliance announcement will be becoming at later dates, right? That's this is one of the weirder things I've ever seen. Exactly. I mean, they're pretty much the total package deal there. They the handle the PR the handle the sponsorship agreements they handled the driver's already and they've got relationships with Hendrick motorsports. And so so. There's something there that this could be a very quick start up team here that ends up being pretty competitive pre quickly. They this. This should be interesting. The other question is who are they going to have driving the cars they represent several drivers some of them that are not currently in the Cup series. So let's see what's go on here. This might be pretty interesting. It's definitely a different way of going about things. Yeah. I mean, this is a very aggressive move for a company that seem to be doing pretty good with what they were doing. So this should be pretty interesting now from what I understand this does not include any equipment whatsoever. This is just the charter. Yeah. Just the charter which a lot of people are wondering why are you would spend so much on the furniture row. Charter when you could still get that became racing charter that's floating around down there. But I think a lot of it has to do. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of writing inside the the race team alliance agreement with these charters that the higher up the team is in the standings. For several seasons in a row gets you more money as far as television revenue goes in higher purses and stuff. So I think that's part of it. Plus if you remember from when they laid the groundwork of this charter deal if you're in the bottom, what is it like three or four teams or something for a certain amount of years in a row. There's a change you charter. So of course, became racing's been pretty low on the totem pole for the last few years. I don't think that's a good place to start. If you're wanting to get your team off the off rolling. Don't wanna be on the clock with a with a bad underperforming charter already. All right up next. We will continue with the final AP weekly. "To the metal, so to speak and drive around and try and get the win as a kid. One of the first games that I can remember playing the game of chicken, right? And that's gonna lift who's gonna lift who's going to get out of the way if you're coming head on, if nobody lifts there are no winners, right, right. But if you push the issue in the guy that rolls out of the way, it's he lost the game, but it did. He really lose. Right. And that's what these guys are playing on this. This is a game of chicken. It's a game and Brad Lexa, call it a game of chess, but this is a game of chicken where you're trying to get the other guy to make the move. That you want him to make not the move that he wants to make. And we see that throughout the day and on the last lap coming to the checker. You see a lot of games a chicken. Absolutely. Let's move to Noah Gregson now because he's going to move to the extent decide next year to go to junior motorsports to drive the one car to replace Elliott Sadler who stepping down at the end of the season. There's a whole situation there about the crew chief who it's going to be. Kevin. Mentoring has worked with Elliott Sadler. Now he's going to move up to the Cup side at Hendrick motorsports and work with Jimmy Johnson. Here's what Noah had to say. Don't know who my crew chiefs going to be. I was reading on Twitter yesterday and I'm like. Man met mentoring. I think that sounds like the guy crew chiefs. The number one car I like JR n. a. started putting things together. I'm like, I think that's supposed to be like my crew chief Wisey crew chiefs, and Jimmy Johnson next year didn't have an opportunity to run time. Job is racing those those are number one pick and to stay within that Toyota racing camp. They've been really good to me, twelve and TR d. they've been a huge part of my career this far and so just really want to thank them, but it just wasn't meant to be. So we kind of had to go look for other options and junior Roger sports. Was interested in myself and. Both the puzzle piece kind of fit together. And so I'm really excited for the opportunity. So silly season continues Gregson moves over to junior motor sports. I think that'll be a really good fit, but he doesn't yet know who is crew. Chief will be right. And the reason Kevin meandering is going over to crew chief. Jimmy Johnson is his longtime seventeen year cleven championship seven championships. I've sat right here and said eight championships, as long as they stay together. That was the key ingredient. I always thought those two, we've seen Ray Everett Hammond, Jeff Gordon's split, and I believe that was a dynasty that that didn't happen while Dale Earnhardt at went through a couple of crew chiefs in his seven championships, he ended up winning another crew championship Petri. I don't know of Jimmy Johnson. We'll get back to the, I think he'll win plenty of more races who, but with Kevin meandering, you start rebuilding that relationship. I mean, being honest with ourselves, how many more years is Jimmy Johnson? How having driving? He says, he's he's in at least a handful of more years. I see. No more than five, right. I say that's a good guess if you talking, but. It's a difficult situation. There was obviously something not working. Chad canal is still very smart. Jimmy Johnson's is still very good, hasn't forgotten how to actually right, but something wasn't working and now is a good time as ever to bring a new crew chief in for Jimmy Johnson and allow Chad canals to go over to a younger kid with William Byron and work together and try to build him up so to to opportunities presenting themselves, and we'll see how it works in two thousand nineteen. So as you say, this takes us back to last week when we had a chance to go to Henrik motor sports and talk to Jimmy Johnson and check out about the change of team announced the big story..

"Want to compete at the highest level, you need to be strong you need to stay strong. Like as an example, Castrol edge. It is the strongest full synthetic motor oil, in fact, three times stronger than the leading full synthetic against viscosity breakdown. That's not me talking that is the legend Kurt Orban's Castrol edge stronger under pressure Rome dunking chicken in soda. Why didn't I think of that regards the guy who came up with putting pineapple on a pizza? That's not as offensive to me. I've done that not only do that. I didn't think that was unusual. On war adults who order chicken tenders at a restaurant. Steve, Steve, my analytics say my analytics say, and I've got the numbers on this. My analytics say that you have Email this show over the years. As promised John hold stay there which right now by the driver of the number nine Chevrolet for Hendrick motorsports. In the monster energy NASCAR Cup series 2016 monster energy NASCAR Cup series. But I'm talking about rookie of the year. He recorded his first career Cup win at Watkins Glen back in August, he clinched his third consecutive playoff spot without win the monster energy NASCAR Cup series live from Indianapolis Motor Speedway is Sunday. Two pm eastern on NBC S N. We are joined by chase Elliott chase. Great to have you on the show. Good morning. How are you? Good good. So you're coming off a fifth place finish at the southern five hundred. It was your sixth grade top ten how pleased were you with that performance? And how do you feel about the way the team is running right now with the playoffs approaching? Yeah. No, it's been it's been a decent last month. I guess or so felt like we got to we got the Loudon a month or so ago, and we've been a little better, I think than we were their season leading up to that point that's been encouraging nice to be able to grab a win and lock into the to the play offs and have a shot to go or championship. So looking forward to these next next ten eleven. So what about that? You've got the win which I'll get to in a minute but Sunday's race. At Indianapolis is the final regular-season race before the playoffs. So in that sense. Is it just another race or with the playoffs about to start? You approach it a little bit differently. Yeah. I don't I don't really think we approach it any differently. The good news is for us in which is different from what I've been in the past couple years. They've always gone into that cutoff rates and been right on the line or had to get opportunity to get in or or miss it as well. So I just nice to be able to go to the last three or four races. And know that we're locked in and not have to worry and play that battle of play the game right there on the cut line. So I I certainly enjoyed that. I think it can be a little more aggressive because of that. But it's still important to get race wins and the benefits that you achieve by doing. So they help you so much in the playoffs that you know, you have to be aggressive, and you can't really sit back and in crews into it. Chase Elliott joining us here in the jungle. Now had your team Johnson on the show last week. And we talked about your win at Watkins Glen last month. I wanna hit that for a moment. But you had a wheel hop intern. One of that final lap. So what was going through your head? When that happened. Yeah. No. That is not what you're looking for the white flag. And and. I had a decent gap on on the seventy eight and just thought, hey idiot. Don't mess up. You'll be fine and went off into turn one and and had some wheelhouse issues. And and kinda luckily was able to gather it back up and the one thing I was like just don't mess up. First thing I did was messed up. So it was definitely not what I was hoping for way more than I was I was shooting for, but we'll take it. It worked out. Good on you did work out. Chase elliott. My guest Yasser ran out of gas and then Jimmy came along. And he gave you a push. What was that moment? Like for you. Is incredible man Jenny has become such a great friend of mine, and he's a he's an incredible teammate. But like our friendship is stronger over the past year or so, and and he's certainly left. Winded bed by and and it's been been super nice through some of my Tupper days at the racetrack. And and you know, a guy position certainly does not have to be like that. I've just been appreciative of that awful lot to from a guy like him who obviously has had a ton of on Jack success. But you know, I feel like the way that he approaches his life off the track is is really just as impressive. And I think anybody tell you that. So it's been great to grow that friendship. And and that was a great moment. Chase. Anyway, joining us chase. You would come so close so many times I mean going to that race you had eight runner-up finishes. You know, it's all process. It's all a journey. I understand that. What was it like to have that many near wins? And then how good did it feel to finally break on through the way? You did. Yeah. No. That's definitely a certainly a big factor in it. And and like I told them by the other day. Obviously I would have loved to have one before August of this year. But, you know, at the same time, I I can tell you that if we had one race in my rookie year, I wouldn't have appreciated as much as I did, you know being near three and having those tough days it makes you appreciate to get once more. And you know, I it's just that. And and you know, just a lot of a lot of reassurance that thanks everybody involved in our team. Hey, where we have things gone. And and we you have things go our way we can compete with these guys. And I think ultimately that was the that was the biggest thing, and and just you always have that confidence believe in that along the way, but just to have have the result to show. It certainly does a. Yeah. You can't doesn't get any better than that. So just been a here's a great weekend. That's the only bad thing about our sport is is the weeks go by quick. And the next raid comes up fast, and you have to move on. Chase Elliott joins us. You know, it doesn't get any better than that. Except for maybe if you've got your family there to celebrate it with you, especially if you're father Bill is the legend of the sport that he is what does that mean? It's been able to share that moment with him. Awesome. I I wish the mom had been there to unfortunately, she she was a home, you know. But to have dad there he's actually spot for me and one of the corners. So he put a little bit of a role in in the win, which I thought was cool and just having their, you know, he he's been he's been there through, you know, those those rougher days and lived at lived at alongside with me him, and my mom. Been just nice to have in there. And and be able to share that moment was pretty special. What about the other side of that? If I go back to that. He was running at road America last month, and you served as his fodder. What was it like to see him back in the car? And how is it serving as his spotter? Yeah. Well, actually, ended up not bonding, and that was the original plan ended up going to watch it. But but still, you know. Many. He just wanted to go on and and he still enjoys rates than he does mother types of racing as well. The guy that wanted to drive that car, and I think he just wanted to go enjoy it and having a good time. And I think ultimately emissions except that. He had a great great week a lot of fun. And they kinda got the cars drive now, which I thought was the here is back. Yeah. We enjoyed him. He's watched me do a lottery and over the past seven years and before that it would be watching him. Do a lottery though, is just to kind of bring back Movember is that and and. And get you back on the other foot against the moment. Or so a chase Elliott before he goes chasing a lot of people know, you're a huge Georgia football fan, and you've been referencing a lot from Kirby smart, quote pressure is privilege, precious privilege. What does that mean to you? And then how do you approach racing as a result? Yeah. I think that that's something that can really apply and in any order any pressure filled situation. You know, if you're if you're in it. That has pressure on you or her is making you work a little harder that that means there's something to be benefited from on the other side that that you care about matters. And if you're those spots, you're doing something right to get there in the first place. So I think just recognizing that knowing that you know, you hear her me. I guess the way it translate. It was Iran. Second eight times, you know, you don't do that by not all look at that point. I don't feel like so I think just recognizing that, you know, hey, we're decisions again. And we have opportunities to go and close out a race, or whatever it is just just a race the moment and make the most of it realize that she has lasting this really key. I think really critical point I want such on something you endow junior hit on recently. Dale, jR, tweeted Kennedy driver whereas on throwback year. "And Casey canes, number ninety, five, Leon family racing team. They have also suffered the same fate, so big deal for case Cain and his team because they're trying to work their way up. The owner standings a little bit to put themselves in a better position next year and going forward their charter, the number four team locked in the playoffs at ten points isn't going to be much a couple of Darlington throwback paint schemes were unveiled this week. Juliano's number twenty two. Oh, and they're awesome. Unexcited is you're excited about this one? Yeah. All right. It's going to feature a Steve park, yellow and black. Look on that twenty two car. It does look pretty stiffy actually. Yeah, with the cool stripes on the MO, the only problem I have is when you look at sea parks, old car, you can easily look at it and say, okay, the top stripe is thinner than the rest of the next drive. Just slightly thicker and it gets thicker as it goes down. Yeah, yeah. Lugano's is all the same size stripe, but still cooler. They're paying homage to to Steve part. Definitely. Now Ryan Newman's thirty one doesn't look all that different from. Every day number thirty one, but okay, we'll take their word for it. They claim it's hail. Bonnets number nine, Neil bonnets nineteen Ninety-three feel. Yeah, actually, Neil Bonnett suffered some brain injuries, and his career stepped away from racing was a commentator when he came back in ninety three. He ran a few one off races with Richard Childress racing in the number thirty one mom and pops Chevrolet. Lumina actually put this paint scheme into the catch fence Talladega and his return. But this this is old paint scheme just at does local a lot like his other ones with that Caterpillar logo on the I don't see any difference all we we. We have another one. Oh, Jimmy Johnson. This is breaking news areas, throwing it all the way back to two thousand twelve. Okay. When he drove the black and white lettering forty, eight to victory lane for Hendrick motorsports is two hundred Cup series win. Okay, well, so that's going to be very different, I guess. Yeah, he two thousand twelve throwback. Although I believe this year Darlington has said that they're opening up to any past year in NASCAR history and they're right well clearly. So I mean, I know the teams don't strictly adhere to what the suggestion is for it, but everybody does qualify this Darlington throwback Cup series. Race is going to be Sunday, September second, man, I'm excited. I always love seeing all the old liveries libraries has they call it in open wheel racing, but it's cool, man. I, it's great. I love these paints games. They all looks great on the track. It's gonna be cool to seal the rest of messy unveiled as well. I agree. I like this weekend. It's going to be fun. A, we got mentioned fellow media member, Tom Higgins has passed away this week, longtime NASCAR writer, and that's. Yeah, longtime legendary reporter from the Charlotte observer may I, I remember reading all of this stuff on that's racin dot com as a kid growing up. So that's that's kind of a bummer. Definitely. Let's get into Watkins Glen this weekend. We're looking at a bad fast road course elevation changes galore and don't forget to look out for those reverse pitstops gas fillers on the right side, which just throws everybody off. I think I, it would throw me off too. That's kind of weird. It's very bizarre. Totally weird. A driver's going to break over five hundred fifty times during this race. So that's kind of important. And I got right here looking looking right at you, Bubba Wallace. All man to soon man take care of those breaks and your planner. Our, I'll wake later and we already poking fun. We don't want to see another Jimmy Johnson at Watkins, Glen, do we know we definitely don't, but another spot of the track besides that turn one spot that you're talking about from Jimmy Johnson crash, that is very difficult to contain. With the bus stop part of the trash. The institute institute of this nine hundred ninety. Two drivers often use as.
