"Rita full way Did you see it? The near chaotic first debate between President Trump and Joe Biden. There's a lot of talk about this line. President Trump asked if he was willing to condemn white supremacists, instead directing this message to the far right group called the Proud Boys. Stand back and stand by AP. Washington Correspondent Sagar Madani. It was the most chaotic presidential debate in recent years. Keep yapping. The people understand you. 47 years you've done nothing. The president and Democratic challenger exchanged insults as they talked over each other. With the president, interrupting so much that Biden, at one point told him to shut up and twice called him a clown. They clashed over the virus pandemic. He does not have a plan. You could never have done the job that we did The president trails in the polls five weeks before the election, but made his pitch for another term. There has never been an administration. That's done what I've done drawing a laugh from buying everything he's saying so far is simply alive. I'm not here to call out his lies. Everybody knows he's a liar. Soccer agony. Washington AP National Political reporter Bill Barrow were there moments where you could say Well, he really not biting off his game, and it was a little round. Yes. For Biden. He spent the time his campaign framing Trump as temperamentally unfit for the presidency. He's not really interested in the details of governing and as failing new this morning, more and more Americans are going without health insurance about 14% of adults had no health insurance before the pandemic struck, says the CDC. "You remember a stray? In the nineteen seventies. There was Martorell against the Vietnam War. Gough Whitlam became Prime Minister. There was free unions. Eucation and Helen Reddy was singing. I am woman our author. Kirsten Alexander was only a young girl at the time. But I do welcome you back to publish to not. I'm so glad to be here. Thank you second book. Fantastic being older than you at this time. I also remember Queensland being a bit of a backwater job. Joke Peterson disallowed gatherings. There was censorship and real stories about police corruption. And this is why. I'm going to get cursed and to start off by reading a bit from page. Two hundred and seventy seven. The book of the back of the book were starting at the ending. This part is spoken by Abbey. Who's one of the two narrators abby? And her brother. Charlie tell the story and riptides and Abbey's at Queensland University on campus and she says the students want change. They're hungry for it in other parts of Australia. People struggling to keep up with change. Feel like the hurtling into the future without helmets but out premier has dug his heels in and is resisting every attempt by the federal government to civilize. Queensland Peterson makes it clear. He loads students feminist darkies homos and communists he laughs at the media while sales estate over seas developers every bit of beach front and any land that can be mined and looks away as heritage listed buildings bulldozed in the dead of night. It doesn't seem to matter that he's barely able to string a sentence together. He rules with iron fisted resolve. Ooh This is a little bit like now. You mentioned abby husband. Mark is one of your characters. What's his job marks a TV journalist. And he's he's very political in nature and at that time. I think it mattered. I wouldn't say more than ever or certainly not more than now but it was very important. Queensland have an alternative voice There was an alternative voice in the radio. That was footer. No actually for troubles. Ed didn't exist at. This point. Came later but it was very important for the media to offer an alternative to what was being told to the people by the government. Yes so marks. A bit of a celebrity seen on the news of filing reports. He's also the husband and father but has the mate. Jim Tell us a bit about the dinner party. The party was when Abby and her husband go to Jim and his wife's place for dinner and I again. I'm I'm not sure that things that happened in the past. Don't don't just keep happening forever so this is probably something that could have happened last week. But Jim admires mark because mock santelli mocks famous. And he's got an audience and the women have to just play not groupies but they just have to sit and listen while the minute mile. One another and it's it it gets Abbey's Gart because she. She loves her husband. She admires his work but she knows that. There are a lot of people out there doing important things in hospitals and schools and making roads and cleaning up our garbage and they don't get this kind of education and of course you know Jim. Thanks his wife by giving her pet on the bottom for making a Nice Pavlova Louisville's leader attitude to women going back to union to finish her law degree. What does the Father Think about this? Well I think we can get accustomed to read from page one hundred one as the father said it was enough your mother nothing to scoff at. Its dignified work to take care of you. Home husband and raise a family and this he goes on so the father talking to his daughter says well. Why do you want to be a lawyer? Then what are you trying to prove? Martin's a good salary. You'll make life harder by being at university now. You have kids to look after who are doing that. I suppose you expect him to as well as his job. So you can go off and do what you want. Which by the way he flicks his hand angrily in my direction. Plenty of lawyers in the world without you. You don't need to show off now. Her father has also very distinct views of what son Charley is doing. What is he doing? I'm Charlie leaving his best live. He finished Uni and then he mocked around bit and took off to Bali where he serves and he Works in a restaurant. There aren't very many around that time a he and a couple of nights. I've been to cafe and Khuda near the beach pen. Just hasn't a good time. Sorry you know his his comeback and he knows he has to talk with his father but he feels that he's really grown away. Well let's let's get his point of view from page fifty six. Oh God I hit my reading drawing people mental Okay so Challenge wondering about if he went and had a beer with his dad. Would that be like what would we talk about how incredible it is to surf the endless breaker Illawarra to mind altering after mushrooms would he fades as chickens? We've reached the age where he wants my approval more than I want his. Which makes me feel kind of bad for him and makes him boring company? Every says he's worried about me being directionless but I reckon when I talk about my life in Bali his out of his depth maybe even jealous makes me tired to think about it so he has no this this mutual disrespect. I think between this the Connection Between Wartime Charlie surfing and abby very comfortable in knowing her skills in water currents the title is riptide. What's retired? I think a part of growing up in Queensland Brisbane is not on. The coast is a familiarity with water. We have to learn to swim very young. I grew up in Brisbane. I'm not sure if that was the same down here but we had to learn to swim very young. We spent a lot of time at the beach and going to various off the coast. Islands stride broken bribery. And so we all know about rips which are dangerous because it's the water pushing and pulling at the same time and you lose control of of where you WANNA go. So water is very important in Queensland Life I think and the idea of different forces pulling your round seemed to make sense to me as well as the memory of the father is a teacher and he teaches them about physics and Abby remembers learning about every action has having a reaction and Charlie talks about Karma so how these two lean. I'm I'm not enough of a philosopher to explain the difference between Action and reaction and and Action IN CONSEQUENCE. I guess calmer and the laws of motion but I do feel that. The idea of motion having consequence is yeah so on Australia. Day Nineteen seventy four. Ed Behead to cancel the neighbors neighborhood gathering. What can I be doing stand? There's there's a flood so they need to go rescue the neighbor. Louis Abbey's best friend and Louis envious of Abbey ability to be supermom or is she. You have happy thinking about the flood from page twenty eight right. This is This is after the flood is gone and flood slave a lot of Damage in their wake. The flood wasn't part of my plan. Not Part of any once. These few days will derail us for months. I know now that I should have recognized the flood as a warning accordion. Everything I thought I could control was uncontrollable life. Insistent persistent was about to take on new shapes Shimmery and unpredictable as petrol on a wave with giving you back story about all of this but the book actually starts on Friday the sixth of December Eddie has picked up Charlie from Brisbane where he's flown in from Bali and they drive into the file this farm. It's number of hours away and now Costa Alexandra's going to read the first paragraph of her book. Riptides Charlie is speaking. I wake when shots she reaches across man grabs the Steering Wheel. A cow honed. Braise white beams flare at us then pitched to the right for an instant? A rump of blue metal shines into the headlights. I elbow my sister out of the way and take the wheel leaning back hard so don't Slam my head into it. Abby flattens her hands against the dashboard as I break and strain to control our sideways skid. She screams my name. We sling to one side of the narrow dirt road and the other cast links the opposite way like wrong ends of a magnet made to meet we swelled to an angled stop pointing into scrappy land. So what happened This isn't giving away. Don't WANNA rate 'cause this all happens in the first paragraph right into it they. They've caused an accident as I say because there are two people in the car but obviously there was only one driver and they were both asleep. Both the driver and the passenger were sleep in. The car forced another driver off the road. Who was pregnant and she does her. There are police involved and Sergeant Roberts certainly wants to solve the mystery because they is a mystery. What's the mystery of the car accident? AGAIN. I I worry about giving away too much. But the the mystery is who was the woman and she what. She didn't just die in the car. She was outside the car she she was when the police found her she was lying on the ground in a way that makes no sense to them. She couldn't possibly have fallen that way and her window was down and there was a storm afterwards so none of it makes a lot of sense to them and they figure out fairly quickly that someone took her out of the car and Leho very carefully on the ground so there is the mystery and pick up the father bring back to Brisbane but he becomes the suspect lots of tension in the house and I wonder how the book will hold this because we know about this everything that's happened in the first paragraph and sort of you know. Mark is job as a journalist. He picks up this tension and then he's called away. Why Christmas Day? Why why not cold away. So he's moved out of the out of the household so we have a release of a little bit of tension for a little while. What happened seventy four Christmas Day? Oh I'm I'm Which which were we hitting. Sorry just cyclone Tracy sorry. Okay Yeah just to yes. There is a cyclone up north and our so he off to that and these. Epi feels leave with the self and her dilemma. It will make my life worst and possibly destroy the lives of everyone around me if I tell the truth. Better to hold it in and manage the pain now. This is Kirsten Alexander's great rotting that she can move the plot and still carry the tension oil very

"All right. We're back so Yeah that was was weird. You guys just your run of the mill locking men and Aradio story song. We've we've heard the story before four we get it. We were originally going to call this the locking people in a radio a simulcasts. Whatever I mean because this goes back to like you know? Ancient in Greece guys aggressive men and locking them inside radio. You know I'm it doesn't have to be a radio. Could be other kinds of clients. Oh the toaster sure. Sure sure a cuisinart. Whatever I mean we've we've all seen it's you know? I mean how many movies has been in. I mean it's like it's such a cliche it's a such. I typically get it. Hell no this this this this story. Yeah basically first of all. It's sort of. It's sort of like if you just wrote a bunch of words on a piece of paper come up in the air and the things out okay. It's not a girl who is mentally disturbed parents keeping a room and and then the guy comes into attacker then put them in a radio. What what are you talking about? Like really bad improv scene. Okay radio the magic powers. Jeez this guy's this is why I don't WanNa into a four o'clock show any kind of Audie. Look look at what we're doing the scene work. We're doing anyway. Yeah yeah the Saga Silverware then can only have been made in the in the seventies and Y- funny about that is I think there was I heard once is a The top forty from actually I think it was from nineteen seventy five so the year after the Casey Kasem top forty last steer this time the number one song was about a girl who traps a boy in a radio anyway. Back to the count Jan.. Here's Boston yeah it was just so nonchalant like yeah you know people who trap people in radios and this is the central thing that people write songs about and we can have about anything. True true story the seventies through story about a girl who radio. I mean the great thing honestly like I've said like listening back that episode. You can hear me at least Just figuring stuff here like as it slowly starts to dawn on me because I it's about a girl who's like and then you know. This is a fairly standard like story-song trope Graf of you know a girl. She's disturbed or parents like keeper in the room. You can see that story out. Yeah Yeah Yeah. And then the boy comes in and he's like you know he's bad news. Whenever are you can see that story play out? And you're like okay and then the third I would you like to suddenly magic powers the only right way. Why talking about you you know you can sort about a girl is metric Peres? That's the third story guys. You GotTa wait too many stories in your story song like let's chill out follow a TV show and they'll just add something and you're like what are you talking about out the show that I tune into the happens in a song. They introduced like a cousin or something who lives in the radio. What are you saying to me right now? So funny so radio over there but Angie baby is one of those songs that I feel like the the three of us even mention And and and still talk about because it's so bizarre and it. "The evil boy walked in to the room thinking he knows what's up thinking he's in control moment he hears that Rick Rock and Roll Radio Right Forget it head spinning confused now how much of that is the radio radio and how much of that is crazy angie we'll get to that but let's let's talk about exactly what happened here okay head-spinning okay yep she appeals confused like he walked into play play that's that's weird like God bless them for bringing the American theater so no now I I say good for him Yeah I love legitimate theater I would've really appreciate it if he had told me genre of play and not just made a blanket statement eight mentally sick you really think this kid knows genre of play like a Da da that'd be great darrow fo yeah is it a Horton foote Dahlia film yeah no exit he walked into no exit hell another Angie's or the Dream Ballet Oklahoma Yeah Yeah also just terrifying these are all things that rapists are familiar yes so he wants to play so there's some sort of level evola like artificiality something like that he now okay so okay so I think I would imagine that whatever is happening only exists inside this room does that make sense three a window he doesn't see these other people that she's talking to dancing with the whatever but once he steps inside the rule and get no this whatever for this power or magic or containers inside this room nobody fantasy is reality yeah nobody sees what she sees unless they're in her world around that radio right and the father that says like knocks on the door he never walks in the knocks on the door or or Ange is the ability to only let certain the people that she wants to see see what's she turns down the radio when he comes in like she they fade away when he taps on the but that's the door okay he their conversation is through the doors yeah nothing else take place in that room so she starts to turn on the radio and Houston to shrink noble wait it's all done I it he walks into the play the music so loud it's been some around till his song how has your way now during this room looking at him his soul you guys there's so much talking crazy I'm picturing this room being like not to make another lost reference but when they find that that weird brainstorm brainstorm that we're brainwashing room okay okay that's playing that video over and over guys lake locked in the chair yes I'm picturing it like that yeah I think so okay so his soul has left his body she turns down the radio at which point he starts shrink he gets smaller with the sound which efforts again again when I was listening when you're listening to this and then reading the lyrics your mind is trying to make sense of it so you're like what if this is metaphor right right drier and like you know what this word play what of this is just flat out he's shrinking right 'cause he's getting smaller with with the sound could mean that he's he was all puffed up he was like like this big tough guy but then as the music at slower he starts to crumble but I think he's literally it he's literally shrinking as she turns yeah knob on the radio he's shrinking he lives off the ground and is pulled towards the radio and is absorbed in it I guess he's now trapped in the radio I guess okay so he never to be found the headlines read the boy disappeared in everyone thinks he died except a crazy girl with a secret lover who keeps him satisfied turn cats are satisfied hands fine okay holy holy guacamole yet because this just just when it couldn't get any crazier it just got crazy because not only she didn't make him disappear no she didn't kill kill him he is her magic sex leave his crazy where's he live IMA radio in rock and roll radio yeah I feel like I'm taking crazy pills no due to quote something this is not I like part of me wants like things I might wake up from industry and there's like call you guys I had the craziest dream let some song that we did because this couldn't possibly exist in reality all right so so let's now that we've gone to the whole thing let me start asking you start pepper you guys questions okay go for it what is happening is it she's some sort of magic creature is it chew some sort of a normal girl who's been like bewitched by magic radio maybe the radio radio magic you mean like so let's say let's she's a normal girl okay but in this Stephen King novel the Magic radio has now served crapped her and so everyone's like she wasn't normal girl but now she's being too but we're gonNA take her out of school and now she's like does the bidding of this radio maybe or ord- some sort of power that she is using did I see this on are you afraid of the dark exact plot of are you afraid of the dark it does definitely yeah yeah well here's here's the thing I don't think she was ever a normal girl okay I think she was born with some sort of ability and maybe having a connection to this radio radio being so strong and like he was the only thing she connected to it pulled her powers powers into the love how you're talking about this like it's signs it poulter powers to that one thing like I can control this radio. CEO controlled the world of this radio but there's definitely some connection to the radio because I turn on the volume makes him shrink she lives her life in the song she hears on the rock and roll radio like that is her life that is her reality is this radio everything filters through her relationship with this radio right like gives a living thing whether she's doing the bidding of the radio like the radios evil or like the radio was like where's the money coming from the radio I think if I I think a better radio came out next year and she got a new radio she would still be justice creepy but you know what where she bought this radio where native American burial Israel Ground Okay so maybe you just move the antennas that you just moved the headstones electron no I think Angie is the one she's a little touched think Andrews the one and and she's and now okay I have no I have I have no proof of it and I think what you're saying he's perfect sense but I love the idea of a magic aradio right the power of wrong given this girl magic powers and it's I dunno that's awesome and that that is a theory that is a Stephen King short story I would want to read about a normal girl who is bewitched by magic radio but if carried over into into into her school life right it wasn't just the radio nobody would have just been her in her room but that's what started to happen in a little book I'll directly recalled Christine where the kid gets the car normal kid and then always every minute he spends with that car he starts getting weirder and weirder trailing craziest raise each school that's true eventually you guys in a fireball yeah thank thank what to read that great that movie yeah the movies terrible I saved you that two hours yeah but you can watch back to school which started saying day moving accept that yeah I mean I I don't know or I buy whatever I was GONNA say served only takes place in the room so it was like the room magic enter my question is this is he the first one because then going back it's the lovers every night and she trashy trapped other people in all of this obey I'm going to say yes I'm GonNa say yes to yeah I think just because this kid had evil on his mind signed doesn't mean that the only people captured might be electrically nice people okay Angie what's up wait what's happening your your radios magic are possible you I don't know Kentucky I feel like there are party guests in there too like oh we just put all the coats on Angie's bed I'm GonNa go I don't know what to get the coats name ever questions Angie Insane no one asks you you to explain radio by your side Angie baby now here's the thing so she starts bringing the radio to out into the world and then the radio no one asked me to explain meaning what known as known as to no one ever asks you what happened to this kid right right but no one seems to care what happened to this kid they're like well yeah but he disappeared died you know I mean they they are very probably looking for him there's you know now months have gone by they're assuming he's dead that's the thing nobody's ever like Hey Andrew did you see this like no one questions her because she's just the local local Kook with radio by would never occur to them that she had to do with it not that you know some cops like I'm telling you it's a magic radio you guys you you know it's Magic Johnson what I'm picturing like the G. made the radio magic the dancing in her room it's like in my mind the the people the ghosts dancing in the band yeah they spin around this is the thing and and we didn't discuss this until I'm GONNA sit run.

"More we're happy that happens in most of the songs that we cover yes so now is jam packed this is Jeb back with the three and a half minute song is jam-packed with plus you thinking or the Sun's going okay too crazy about this crazy girl those are listens to the rock and roll radio radio has this great imaginary life and of Song Right of course then the wrong this boy comes by and you're you're like Oh okay neighbor voice stopping by maybe they're maybe they'll be friends you know maybe he's now he's got evil on his mind right there yeah I mean what else could he possibly be doing other than I'm going to our this girl like there's no there's nothing else there's nothing the thing to drop in one line in the song from that you sort of get like Oh yeah this kid's trouble well yeah and then then it sets up that he's like looking in her wind peeking through the blinds void so D- so then if there's no I know it so he's seen her dancing around by herself he knows that he's a crazy guess that makes more sense about if she's dancing by herself than he knows that she's you you know that she's going to be alone if parents go out right and let's let's look at it from this creepy monsters point of view if I are this crazy girl who's GonNa believe right she's crazy come on everybody knows it right the perfect crime from this guy's point of view so he kinda just climbed up the window I think and he's like hello hello right now tap tap tap dance with me tonight Ranji baby now let's make sure we got this clear so this is what Greece the girl dances we're like oh she was dancing herself and she lives in this happy world okay then tragedy because now there's crazy dudes come by the divas mind oh this on right on like where there's going now we think again we think we know where this is going exactly right and it's going to end horribly with a young engineer and her parents are going to feel terrible about this it's all scripted out and I'm going to be honest with you I just listened to the song on not ten minutes ago before we recording somebody ever heard it I did not see where this isn't really hey I was like a jigsaw aw you'd be hard pressed to be like those into the versus song and be like I got it I know this is one of the rare occasions in any type of storytelling retelling yeah we're you have absolutely no idea how this it's amazing because that's usually the great thing about songs but it's like you know you can figure it out oh it's it's about the theme I see sort of one thing as songs about no not with this is this is this is very different yeah there are no clues reality he feels is lacking walked play also way then it.

"In this song jumps all over the place because the nets they all that up to that point all we know is that she's been taken out of school because there's some issues and she likes to listen to rock and roll music all that could lead to us like figuring out exactly what's wrong with her song? Long is essentially like season one of loss twist on top of twist twist. Yeah Yeah let's do it because it's going to. There's smoke bombs during the next. The next Verse Starts Lovers Appear in your room each night and they were all across the floor. Now as Michael Beliefs said in the beginning that she it's imaginary dancers that she's just dancing herself like in in in Love With with the Music Chore Dancing Around to The Music with lovers that you can't say because he's creepy girl who has no room to be pulled out of school I now now. Let's just say even a normal teenager listened to a lot of radio When I was a teenager and there definitely were times where they were imaginary women who were a- gobsmack by amazing dance and also the fact that I could totally hit the hacky exact twenty five times in a row? Yeah and they you know was basically a panic attack. You talked to Mike. You like that baby amount that so are you both in agreement that you think that that's what this is well I. That's what I'm assuming you're listening to it with virgin the era. That's what you're assuming you're listening to start to finish. I think at this point yes. It's it's her escaping into the world of music if I'm listening to the song and no one has had sex with my ears. Here's yes when I heard this and maybe it's just the fact that we heard we hear lovers so much in songs that it makes it all to you. Bet She's getting boys or climbing into a room she lost are now on the door and they fade away. Yeah but I mean that fading away obviously she might. They're not real. That's like I assumed it was. I WANNA say the opposite of Michael Jackson's black or white yes exactly. We're seeing the video from the album. Version sound the kids like listening to music partner like knocks on the door and he's like turned down the music and and I think that's what it is. I mean he he doesn't he just goes crazy and he's like no. I'm GonNa play the song he plays it in the Michael Jackson Anyhow I think it's she's she's getting lost in the music. And then her father the Knox endorses darn time for bed. And she says Oh came turns on the musicnet then then everything fades away and she's alone shots the sad without the music without the rock and roll radio. All right bye guys music Peter. Don't don't you dare Peter our. Don't you do it all right so fair enough. So Dad says teleradio good night. 'cause Mommy and I are going out for drinking. I think the strongest certainly trying to point you in that direction get wants you to think. She's a little crazy. Listen to the radio all night. And she has these imaginary people in her room right but she's dancing with. I'm not I'm not feeling crazy and feeling lonely. Talk Take your tonight. We take you out of school because you're not reminding from society because they're a little low actually. That's probably the opposite of what people I would think. I'm lonely good. We got to be more. You don't know alone today. It's like the old days when your dad call smoking cigarettes. He'd clock you in a class yet as a whole car. We'll show you what a loan is. Well I kind of forgot about. Oh come smoke with me. We'll.

"Living this starts off with something that I think is a little antiquated people saying that you live your life on the rock and roll about what kind of radio. She lives her life through. which in and of itself that first line you think? Nothing's wrong with Angie. She's just she's a normal teenage girl especially a lot of rock songs like talking about that teenage kind of loneliness like living through music. Living through the radio yeah. I want to point in the direction of Radio Gaga. I don't WanNa point in the direction action of rock and roll dreams. Come through by MEATLOAF. Sure sure yeah. Please do ask a question. Sure can I choose which one of those the choices your and yours pleasantly surprised. We're told right off right off the bat that she doesn't have any friends. Choice is harsh. Well he can't thank right now at this point in the song this sounds like your average normal song about a young girl who maybe is an hundred percent fitting in understands are kinda sweet. It's kind of sad radio. There's a Lotta songs about listening to the the rock and roll radio. The one thing that makes sense in this crazy world coke is what brings her out of her shell. She locks herself up in her room and her parents downstairs going. I don't know what to do about it. But she's doing listening commute. She doesn't have anything else all she has all she has the music but maybe she'll grow out of it you know. Maybe she'll turn out cool. That's a weird line. Your turn out in a lot of parents concerned that their fathers Danny's the point out that that's your daily just about everything I need to win a cool person Danny Zuko. WHO's the person you go to along with? Her parents are just like she's no good. How we get such a square what happened? Oh what's class we. We're we're adults. We don't have to cut grass cut school job just called calling six. They don't do what we want turn on the jukebox. So I think a lot of parents are concerned. Their kids aren't doing good in school right. Maybe like you know. I wish they were veteran sports. Or whatever there's a lot of parents actually doesn't seem cool enough. What if she put out more honey? Have you thought about putting out because you don't that cool are you. Are You underage drinking. I mean come on Angie Baby I do not smell marijuana coming out of that right here. You just you're on well I also I love the fact that the leap from A to B is like she's like Byrd Polar that school. That's the thing. Well that's the GEL or or is it like lake. She's doing some crazy stuff at school and they're like we we got we got to take her out of school starter. Maybe not not like not like Oh. She's not cool. She's like injured at this thing is not that she's not cool. It's cool right. Yeah I not cool to be setting fire. We told you real quick. Your teacher called called stared really harder now. Her nose toppling She told me to turn off my round getting radio. No you can't play that in. Okay Watch out for that basketball now. I'm gonNA stop staring hard so yeah well I mean we're jumping a little ahead though because all right so she's not cool. Yeah as of this point in the song we don't know about you. The athletic abilities. What so but we have to pull you out of school though? That's definitely there is something being left unsaid. Something has happened. Yeah who's even if someone to little touched or whatever you don't normally pull them out of school unless there's a problem right right could be with other people could be with a neighbor boy storm. Let me tell you what I think the problem is. I think the problem is that we have a songwriter. Who decides that? It's okay try. I'm cool and score. ooh In the first five song. I'm not okay with I think. Part of the problem is also the they keep calling Her Anti Baby. That's clearly not helping. No no that is not gonNA help the NGA. Everything's Okay Edgy. Maybe they tried to call her just Angie and she's like my name's Angie baby those I'm going to the beach. Fit all over the place. LAUMAN's appear in your room and they were gross. When Your Daddy.

"Hello everybody welcome back. I'm Dan mackin turning Michael Gazelle. Jared we take it to the wonderful world of a story song and this week. It's going to be Andy Baby by Helen. Reading and eh it's GonNa be nice. It's a nice quiet normal story. Let's get I think I think we should also mention this came to us as a a listener. Suggestion does 'cause it's Kooky most all of our listeners and I'm not saying that says anything about our listeners that it does the most of them are completely Betcha. Great Yeah I I don't know about that but we have no confirmation. The either can neither confirm nor deny the sanity partners. But thank you for sending suggestion crazy or not. We love you. Yeah so we're just kind of fun because I mean I think you guys knew this song right but it wasn't one that we did like I'm saying like it's fun to be like. Oh this is another crazy crazy one kind of knew about it. Obviously Michael knew about it off the courts. Michael Barr you come asking. But I didn't know this one and so I'm I'm very excited about it because it's interesting Rachel tells the story of this town again. Anti baby is about a girl named named Angie. She is doesn't have any friends so her radio and the rock and roll radio is is her only friend. Her parents were hoping that maybe she'd grow out. Whatever phase she was in didn't they had to figure out of school and basically she sits in her room listening to her radio? And then there's a line that says lovers appear in your room each night now I would like to say right off the bat that to tell you the story. We don't know uh whether those are real lovers are not into. We'll get into that but lovers here but then they they fade away. Somehow Daddy checks on her says Andrew. Yoke I believe that. It's it's on her imagining yet. It's her fantasy life as she's listening to this point in the song that's that's led to. She's she's living through the music she's hearing I'll right. That's one way to put it Michael a guy but then but then what happens is she's living in world make believe everybody thinks she's crazy lady. She's a special lady. They call her one night. Her parents are not around and a neighbor boy comes over with evil on his mind. Mind neighbor always have been. He's going to are her because he's been staring at her so he comes in and he says I'll teach you how to dance real nice ace and but when he goes into her room. The music is so loud. He's just spinning head. Can thank things are crazy. She starts to turn the evaluate down in adage. She does listen. I am not embellishing this at all afternoon does he gets smaller with the sound. The radio pose him up. He's pulled toward the radio and he vanishes headlines read that he disappeared. Everybody thinks clearly. He's dead somewhere because he there's no good to begin with apparently Everyone thinks he died. Except for Angie who knows that she has a secret lover to keep her satisfied. It's five but nobody questioned her about it because she's the local whack so she gets away with enslavement. It or maybe in a creepy way. Both we don't know all we know. Is that Angie is powerful powerful. En- don't dry are too. She will ask you live in the song.
