Everything's going good. We got a lot of snow the other day. And I had to shovel the driveway. Not too happy about that. Are you in a new house now? Well, we're in the process of moving in. Okay. So we're not living there yet, but we're moving stuff in from a storage unit, and we maybe got half of it, moved in. Okay, well, at least you're doing it during snowstorms. Yeah, during snowstorms. I had to shovel the driveway just so we could get up to the house to load stuff in. Oh, there's snow. Oh, come on. You know, I'll tell you everybody. When Mike said he was going to leave, everybody would say to him, oh my gosh, the weather in the snow and everything. And Mike's response was always, well, you just stay inside. It's no big deal. You just stay inside. It's the heat. Meanwhile, now you're shoveling snow, you're driving through snowstorms to pick up your daughter from the airport. You can't just stay inside the whole time. Well, you can't say inside the whole time, but you do get to stay inside a fair amount. Okay. No, it's not really that bad. They get the roads clear pretty quick. It's just personal things. They don't clear my driveway. Yeah, they don't clear your driveway, yeah. Hey, I'm a to ask you a few episodes back. You were talking about, I think it was a restaurant in Caledonia that got shut down for illegal gambling. Did you find out what he's going there? No, and I never heard anything else about that. So that was the rumor going around town. But it's still open. And I haven't heard anything about it. So it might have been falsely started or I don't know. I never was able to find much information about that. Yeah, if it's still open and it didn't make the news or anything. It just sounds like a false rumor. Yeah, it sounded to me like a false rumor after I checked into it, but I wondered about that too. And I still, the place is for sale. Okay. So, you know, I don't know if that had something to do with it, but I think it's pretty much was just a rumor started by somebody. Okay. Now how much gambling have you been doing since last episode? Yeah, that's a sore subject, Mark, because the week after we had our meet up, I didn't go, because I was there for three and a half days. Yeah, that was a lot. Yeah, so I thought, okay, well, I'll stay home this week. And then the weekend after that was Thanksgiving. And I was kind of thinking about going on Saturday, but then we got busy with a house and stuff. And then this weekend, it snowed. And I didn't want to drive there. And last weekend, we were moving stuff Saturday and Sunday, so I couldn't make it. All right, so you haven't played since the meetup. Correct. Yeah. So I'm hoping to go next weekend if possible. I was thinking about even going today, but it turns out we're going to be moving some more stuff. The girls brands have volunteered to help us. So while we have help, we're going to do that. Well, I haven't gambled either, you know, since the trip and it's mostly been just family commitments that kind of thing. So life's getting in the way mark. This is ridiculous. Okay, well, this is our last episode, then. Thanks for listening tonight. I mean, I have to rectify this. Yeah, we're going to have to do a lot of gambling, so we got a lot of content. That's right. 6 ace in your face. You're right. Exactly. Well, Mike, do you have anything else gambling related to talk about? Because if not, I'm just going to jump into our phone calls. Well, gambling related not a lot, but I would like to rant a little bit about the Heisman Trophy. Please do. I mean, every year, they announce a Heisman Trophy winner, and it's typically like a wide receiver, a quarterback, a running back, why isn't it ever an offensive lineman? Because I looked it up and it's supposed to be for outstanding play and diligence and hard work ethic and, you know, just all these great things that an athlete should do. And I'm thinking, it's mostly offensive lineman who do that. They work so hard to protect the quarterback, open holes for the running back, give the quarterback enough time to hit the wide receiver. It should be offensive lineman. I know they have a separate award for them for those who are going to say, well, they have a separate award. But if you're going to pick just the most outstanding football player in the country, I mean, there's some linemen who maybe never missed an assignment, never missed a block. Yeah, it's a great job. It's just offensive lineman that's not the sexy position, right? Yeah. I mean, that's what it comes down to is you don't see an offensive lineman making a block. Hey, that's great. Hey, you know, you don't get excited. You get excited, you know, when there's a big running play or the quarterback, you know, like a 60 yard pass, right? And it scores a touchdown. That's the reason. I think you make a valid point that it should apply to everyone is equally. It's just that it's, and if they did start doing that, there'd be less interest in the Heisman. I think the 39 yard field goal in the second overtime to give army a 2017 win over navy. Hit a 37 yarder that tied the game with one 50 feet of play in the fourth quarter, his game when it came at the army had recovered on AV fumble at the best three yard line. College basketball and Alabama has become just the second team to beat a pair of number ones in the same season. Noah Clowney had 16 points and 11 rebounds as the 8th ranked tide knocked off Houston. 71 65 after trailing by 15 in the second half. It wasn't a matter of how much we knew when we started clicking. You guys talked about him earlier. Kirby smart said in an interview, it was right around last year's national championship game. I think it was on that same network. One of the best statements I ever heard. He said, if you don't recruit the best players in the country, you're never going to win in college football. You know what I'm saying? It's going to be able to recruit some of the best players Colorado. So that's my good plug for him. But I want to talk about stetson Bennett, right? So, you know, just throw some stats out there. I know you guys were talking about Ron young. So Stephen Bennett he had 3400 yards passing. It was 20 and 6, 6 interceptions, 20 touchdowns, 86.3 QBR. And then you got Bryce young 3000 yards. 27 and 5 interceptions, 83.7. And I would argue that bras young's 27 touchdown passes if they had an elite of a running game as Georgia has had, he probably would have less touchdown passes and I think stetson Bennett is a product of mcelroy and mccarran. 'cause they were the same way back in the day. Alabama always had a great run again. A great defense. And they were never asked to do too much in the offense. But when they needed to, they made the place. So it's definitely been a type of quarterback if he was in an Alabama system. Could he swing the ball? I don't know. But we don't know because when I happen. And then I'll close with this. You freeze. I'm big arm fan, great hire. The gentleman earlier said, swing to the fence, that was the gamble on the higher, but I think that freeze has learned. He's answered to his family and I think at the end of the day, that's the most important thing. And I think he has had enough. A few years to show, I think it's going to be all right. I want to start off by saying is nobody's talking about the fact that the Florida Gators should be in the playoffs. You know what I mean? Because had they scored more points than Georgia Tennessee Vanderbilt, Kentucky, LSU and FSU. They would have been 12 and O and they said we need to get that consideration, don't you think? You're the first person to bring that up. And you also be the last, but based on that, basically, when all serious is, how do you think Napier did this year? How would you grade his job? Do you think the Florida is on an upward track now because of it? I don't know. I would not give him a good grade. I thought it was a chaotic season. And when you factor in how well it started with that win over Utah and saving what was the third game or a fourth game of the year as well. It was just a roller coaster ride and I'm really, I mean I know he's recruiting well and he has to recruit well because this is a program that really came off looking very weak. What do you think that you think they look weak at the end? So do you think that there's any hope though for? No, absolutely. I'm just giving you an assessment of what I saw. Yeah, I think Florida has everything going for it. It's got to new facilities. It's got plenty of money. It's got a he's got a good staff. I think he's a really good coach and recruiter, but he's in a very busy neighborhood right now with Georgia and Tennessee ascending and South Carolina. And I'm just not sure. I'll defer to others on that because I, they were hard to watch at times and I did watch the Florida, the Florida state game, I take it back and I thought they played well, I would question some of the calls and some of the usage of Anthony Richardson, but that's not an issue any longer. Based on that, who do you think 40 is going to be able to use the quarterback? Do you think they're going to go to the portal for a quarterback now? Things how obviously their backup quarterback is not going to be with you. No, I think they would almost have to go to the portal. And this is where the portal can change. I mean, look, it's self evident. Look at Tennessee. Look at so many other programs that have LSU. I think that's essential and there are plenty of guys out there in the portal that I think somebody mentioned the NC state quarterback a few minutes ago. I think they can, I think they can find a successful quarterback in the portal, at least give them a stop gap until the hemorrhaging stops. Well, hopefully that will happen soon. That's why they both appear in the beginning, but hopefully next you'll be investing them moving the right direction even further, but that's all I can do is hope it's greater than a maybe 30 years, but it's competitive. I don't think there's desperation yet. But I think sometimes the way you end a season really affects your psyche and I think that's really where it is. He's got to get I mean, I think the fan base is, I don't know. I'm going to stop myself because I really don't know what the fan base is thinking. You tell me.

Hello, Chad. Hey, Paul. How are you doing? So I got a three part question here. One's a statement. One. Answer this afterwards. You've been a lot of your career and you've been great, but also Alabama, but you have just dissed saving in the last three or four weeks, and you're just like you're on the smart train. Second, as you never talk about South Carolina, I don't think you thought much about the beamer higher. Talk to me about first, where beamer is where you thought it would be. Where do you see a South Carolina going? But the statement I made is you've met a lot of your career off the back of Nick Saban and you've been great, but now you've just dissed him. Do you think he's that done? And it's Kirby's smart is now the next Nick Saban. I'll let you speak. Thank you, Chad. First of all, I had a pretty long career before Saban got there, but with Sabin did was elevate everything in Alabama. Beginning in 2007 to such a to such a level that we all benefited from it. And I daresay I benefited a great deal. So yeah, I'm not dissing him out of spite. I'm not dissing him period. I'm simply giving an opinion based on what I see. And this has been a very disappointing year by Sabin standards by any other standards finishing 5th in the country is pretty remarkable, but not by his standards. As far as Shane beamer is concerned, I had my doubts at the beginning because I think you had to. He didn't have a track record other than as a great recruiter and somebody that was part of Sabin, excuse me, not only smart staff, but especially spurrier staff, I'm shocked by what I've seen the last couple of weeks by Shane beamer. I expected this year to be average and it looked like it was going to be average. And I told him this Saturday, well, when we were together in Atlanta, I've never seen a two week period like what he has done. It's easily the greatest 8 days in the school's history I've ever seen I've ever seen because to knock off two teams like that, especially wrecking Tennessee season, but also changing the dynamics of the Clemson out the Clemson South Carolina rivalry are simply unbelievable. And I can not stay in Clemson. But the bulldogs is my next state team, I can't stand, but I root for him. How stats have been it, not that later for the Heisman. What that kid has done the last two years at Georgia, tell me a quarterback that's done that. And nobody thought he could do it. Why is he not the FrontRunner for the Heisman? Because he has done more than any other player up there right now. Outside of the United States, it's a legitimate question. I think he will finish third in the Heisman. That would be my guess. And the reason he's not the FrontRunner is that everybody around the country who votes doesn't see it through the prism of Georgia fans or fans in the SEC. They look at it broadly and if he wins the championship, we'll probably begin to wonder why he didn't win the Heisman, which I don't think he will. I think there were times this year when he resorted back to being average and then he simply came right back and led his team to a big win on the road against Missouri and I thought he was sensational on Saturday, but I think the biggest problem for stetson Bennett is in stetson Ben, it's how good the defense has been the last two years. Yeah, but Paul, I agree with that, but you look at hooker, look at their throws rattler through. Step submitted has made throws that there ain't many of the top quarterbacks of throwing this year. I mean, he is, he has put the ball or a dime, so he's got the best tight ends in the country. He's got one of the best O lines. The running game had been that great. But man, the kid, the trophy is for the best player of the year. It's not the best talent in what you think you might have. Am I not wrong? Well, there's a lot of things that go into the description of the Heisman Trophy, but ultimately it's the most outstanding player, and I think again, unlike some players on Alabama in the past who have been able to get over the fact that like devonta Smith two years ago, he had to beat two guys in the Alabama backfield for the award in Mac Jones, a quarterback of Niger Harris, stetson had, I think, has always struggled to get over the elite of Georgia's defense. We may end up regretting it. I'm comfortable having voted him in my top three, but I don't think he'll win. We will take a break. We're up against the top of

"Let's check in with augie and New Orleans, a good afternoon, augie. Good afternoon, Paul. Paul, do you think K IV cringes every time you get one of these intra Bama fus going? I don't know. I've always I've known the governor and she's a big fan of the show, so she probably as a governor of Alabama. She probably appreciates what's going on here. You think she likes the rest of the world hearing legend and Larry express their Alabama public education across the airways? Yes, I do. Considering, I mean, again, you know how to get elected in Louisiana. There's a way to get elected governor of Alabama. Well, that was actually the kind of controversy against our thought you were going to say. I thought you were going to say is, yes, she likes for the federal government to hear that. So we can get more state educational aid once they hear. She doesn't want to call it. She doesn't want to education any better there. Because here's the problem. If the public was educated better, some of the people serving Alabama wouldn't get elected. Isn't that true? That's the case of Louisiana. If it wasn't for the morons that live here, we wouldn't have half the people serving that we do. But Paul, Larry made a comment about Q freeze and call in ladies on the phones with the credit card. There's a whole industry devoted to that. Don't you know, there are ladies just waiting for people to call them with their credit card. I mean, a whole industry. So we keep talking about it. I think we're going to have to ask Larry to refrain from using that phrase about coach freeze. He's a good man. So when you look at Alabama's record, I mean, people are talking about, well, they're almost undefeated. You know, they're really almost 7 and 5. Yeah. I mean, you said it yourself. And I said at the beginning of the year that and who was it that claimed they, oh, JK said that he predicted Alabama would not make it. I said Alabama would not make it because of injuries. How much of an effect do you think, whatever happened to young, how much of that do you think was a factor in them not making it? I don't think it wasn't. Nick Saban seemed to make it. Behind the point spread and again, I mean, this Alabama team was not good with Bryce young, the Texas game being the prime example. Right. And I realized he was hurt, but I don't think that Bryce young's injury had nothing to do with them losing at Tennessee. He was brilliant in that game, augie. He couldn't have done anymore. He was. No, I thought he was great. And I mean, he was okay, well, where did he get her? Which game did you get? The Arkansas game. And i brought this up. Actually last week as just emory jones has been waiting for like a half decade. Florida starting quarterback. Because the problem is he stinks. He's actually not very good but he's waited so long and dan mullen. I think feels a sense of like right. Yeah well i mean you know. It's just like you're back up really really good quarterback and it's like well it's finally my turn except the problem is like he's actually thrown interceptions and really bad spots. They played florida. Atlantic and south florida. They haven't covered either number and everybody. Who's a florida and basically wants him to stop being the starting quarterback and a richardson. Who's a freshman who it is actually think it's not close. Is the most dynamic player in college football in an individual play basis. Right now you have a lot of impediments to him winning the award so first of all. He is not the starting quarterback he has played basically like some series and each of the first two games but in a very limited number of series already has four total touchdowns and like nine hundred zero yards so like imagine if he actually played the other eighty percent of the game. How it would be going right now. I think he has four touchdowns of over seventy yards already like. He's the player that college football is missing right now. He is also one hundred to one to win the heisman at a couple of places right now. Most places don't have enlisted because they probably don't know who he is. He's one hundred to one to win the heisman. There are lots of obstacles to him. Winning so mullen is convinced that marie jones still needs to be the starter going into the alabama game. But obviously like if we get to the alabama game. This saturday and marie jones stinks for two series. Like can he really afford to not play richardson. Like that's going to be the question so obviously impediment number one. He's still not the starter that sucks. You probably can't wait if you're not the starting quarterback impediment number two. You heard his hamstring at the end of the previous game. Now mullin gave a press conference today in which he updated his status. Basically kind of like not telling you a lot but telling you. Things are fine like he's going to get treatment. We'll see how it goes. You're not really going to learn anything. It's gamesmanship it's the week of the alabama game but like going fine. I just think there's an opportunity here. It's one hundred to one on. I think the only player outside of those three quarterbacks young corral rattler who actually could put up the stats to win the award. He's actually not even that far behind rattler. That's the crazy thing in terms of stats. And he doesn't start like it's actually insane and we have an opportunity with them playing the number one team in the country at their place even if they lose if he's awesome and they lose like the kindling is kind of lit and he's able to go on an insane run. It's actually kinda possible. So basically i'm telling you like you need one hundred to one. It's a fun flyer for a few bucks in a week. Where you really don't wanna bet on anyone to win the heisman. The game of the year game of the game of the week and the sec might offer you some chance to maybe get a narrative going here with a guy who actually has the chance to be that like dynamic athletic player that we've been missing in college football so just kind of an interesting little angle. He'll be fifty to one and it sort of incumbent on you to realize that that's directionally what's going to happen and make a decision so. Huge numbers this year for the trojans and it's hard to ever call a usc quarterback asleep or given their history with the heisman. So but i would put him somewhere in that category and then the guy mentioned that texas. If they're able to have kind of a breakthrough season beeson robinson. I think there's a lot of excitement about his potential to be a true superstar and get on that yet on that national radar so big ten. Why they don't see anybody and there's some really good running backs and really good receivers. Maybe michael annex in indiana. You can stay healthy at quarterback but there's not an obvious hyphen candidate in that conference. I love me some kid on the season adam so i certainly like that. Give us a team. Adam any conference in the country a team right now that you feel like is flying under the radar a little bit and i'm not saying that you think this team or is going to contend for the college football player for anything like that but a team that you think could exceed expectations this year. Go over their win. Total make some noise maybe get into the top twenty five. Maybe even to the top ten by seasons end. Give us an under the radar that you expect to exceed expectations this year. Yeah i imagine iowa early. I do really like iowa iowa utah two teams that you look guys like the nfl. Scouts love those programs. They draft a lot of players out of there even though they rarely ranked in the top. Ten or fifteen in recruiting. And i i think both teams have a chance to contend in their divisions and in their conferences. And you know does that mean they get in the playoffs that would certainly it would require a real job.
