"Meteorologist Heather zehr has details of soaker for east of the Mississippi. We didn't have rain that's going to be pushing through the eastern half of the country. This rain is going to be centered around the Tennessee valley and down toward the Gulf Coast. Where else going to have some light rain that extends through the Great Lakes? We are even going to see that rain moving into eastern portion of the country by the end of the day. We do have some rain already falling through the southeast. And in some cases that is coming down heavily and that heavy rain possibility is going to spread northward out of Florida where it is morning up into areas. Even as far north as North Carolina. And that heavy rain is going to continue to spread northward tonight. We'll have a lot of places with heavy rain all the way up into Pennsylvania and toward New York City by tomorrow morning. This can lead to flood. Putting in some areas, especially in these areas that had snow and just a little over a week. Or so ago, we have a second storm that's going to be affecting areas in the north west that is mostly going to be a lighter precipitation, and it is mostly going to be rain as well, though. There will be some snow in the higher elevations most of the snow that we're going to see with the system in the next twenty four hours is going to be as it moves into the northern Rockies during the overnight hours that is going to be in places like northern Idaho can pick up up to six inches of snow, and that's the weather across America. "Meteorologist Heather zehr has a look most of the precipitation. That's going to be taking place across the country for today is going to be in the form of snow. This is going to be across the northern portion of the country. We have one week system, which is going to cut across the Great Lakes. And that's quite a have very little accumulation of snow with it some places might get a coating, and there could be up to an inch and a few spots. But for the most part very little in the way of. Accumulation as we go farther to the west another storm system is moving its way across the Great Lakes, and that is going to have a small accumulation. However, it's not generally going to be much more than an inch or two. There's some lingering rain, and perhaps mountain is in the north west across the southern tier of the country. Things are going to be getting much quieter. We're also slowly beginning to warm up temperatures across the southern plains are mostly back to normal. Although across southern portions of Texas at election, we get above normal across the southeast where we're still recovering from the winter storm earlier in the week and over the weekend. We are going to see temperatures higher than yesterday, though, still mostly in the forties and fifties in the Carolinas. That's the nation's weather nine Accu weather dot com. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell says since there's so much to do. He may just go ahead and cancel the holidays. Oh, we approach all this work. And I highly collaborative productive way and take real advantage of unanimous consent expedite per se. It is virtually cert at the Senate will need to be in session between Christmas and new years in order to complete this work. The work includes funding seven government agencies and departments which presently are operating on a short term Bill that runs out on December twenty first absent and agreement. There will be a partial government shutdown. The departments include interior, transportation and homeland security. It is the homeland security part of the equation, though, that is proving to be the biggest sticking point because that includes funding for President Trump's border wall. A testy meeting between democratic leaders in the president at the White House show just how difficult it will be to reach an agreement. If we don't get what we want. One way or the other whether it's through you through a military through anything you want to call. I will shut down after route. And we disagree also between now and the twenty-first the Republican led congress hopes to finish work on the farm Bill. I revised criminal Justice Bill this month, Senator McConnell previously balked at bringing up that Bill citing the busy floor schedule. But democratic Senator Richard Durbin is cheering McConnell's reversal. I've been at this for five. Years for criminal sentencing reform, and I think we've reached that magic moment. The Bill includes an overhaul a prison. Sentencing laws, something some outspoken, conservative suppose, other agenda items still to be tackled before the end of the year include the violence against women act and disaster relief funding, Senator McConnell says all of this will be going on under the looming threat of the government shutdown. "There will be some heavy rain associated with a storm system. That's going to be pushing through the middle of the country and then into the Ohio valley today and into tonight. This area is going to have some locally heavy rain with it. We're going to be seeing the heaviest rain for the areas where flood watches are already in effect though, actually kicking in as we go through the day tomorrow, although the rain will begin this evening. The heaviest for those areas will actually be during the day. Tomorrow today, though, there can at least be some pockets of heavy rain along this front that will extend from the midwest and the Great Lakes on down across Missouri and into northern Texas that is going to be strengthening with the likelihood of heavy rain and flooding increasing as we head to the overnight. Right hours, just to the west of it. We have a little system which is going to be bringing mainly rain. But also some snow to parts of Colorado rain, for example in Colorado Springs today. Well, turn to snow as we head into the evening hours, and that's no will continue and accumulate several inches overnight. And that's going to be common in that part of the country just showers farther to the south over New Mexico and other system in the north west. Well, have some rain developing there can be some snow and the highest elevations in the northwest is well, the only other snow in the country are few flurries and interior New England this morning, but those are going to disappear pretty quickly, and it will stay dry for the rest of the day. "Fifteen past meteorologist Heather zehr. Evacuated dot com with weather. There are concerns Texas is set for probable flooding over the next few days. There is still going to be some wet weather in Texas. Most of this still confined to eastern and southern portions of the state, but there are at least some showers that are going to be covering the west is well, it's really only northern Texas, including the panhandle that's going to stay rain-free for today. And even those areas may pick up some rain by the end of the night, occasional rain, along with some drizzle and some places and just a few scattered showers for the western panhandle. We're also looking for temperatures to stay on the cooler side as well. A lot of places upper fifties and sixties where training although the areas that stay dry across the north today should get warmer in the sixties and even low seventies. We're looking at mostly dry weather, then across much of the rest of the country. There will be showers continuing to feed up out of Mexico through the. Rockies. Those areas are going to stay cooler with clouds and showers for today. West of the mountains. However, it's going to be a nice day. We'll have sunshine and ties that are mostly going to be in the seventies and eighties for California and fifties and sixties in the northwest. We're looking for dry weather for the most part in the southeast as well. Highs are mostly going to be in the sixties and seventies with low humidity. Even all the way down into central portions of Florida. We do have some rain showers and even some snow showers that can be around for parts of the Great Lakes and over into New England. We could see some heavier showers and some areas as well. And that's the weather across America in Nashville, Tennessee today, partly sunny with a high of seventy Portland. Maine. "Meteorologist Heather zehr center today on several areas of the nation. We're gonna have a couple of areas in the country where heavy rains are going to be a possibility, but the strongest risk for that is going to be across the southwest. What once was hurricane Roseanne is going to be pushing through the southwest and has especially focused on Zona and up into western parts of New Mexico and southern portions of Utah today into tonight. What's left of that system is going to be lifting northward through that area with the possibility of flooding? Downpours flash flooding is going to be a big risk as this. Rainfall moves through the southwest also at have some gusty winds though, generally not strong enough to cause any damage. We're also looking for a possibility of some heavy rainfall in thunder storms that are going to move through parts of the Ohio valley and eventually over into the mid Atlantic. Although they do weakened by the time they get to the east of the Appalachians. We're also looking for some steadier rain that's going to be found over much of New England more rain for this part of the country. Some of that. May be heavy though for the most part it's going to be fairly steady. We actually have a possibility for some wintry weather as well in the country. That's mainly going to be in the mountains of Montana, and we're going to be seeing some accumulation of snow in that part of the country as we go through today, and then especially into tonight. That's the nation's weather nine AccuWeather dot com. Meteorologist Heather zehr.
