"Morning. And thanks for taking my call. You know, I've been a really long time listener to you. And first, let me say without you I can't imagine how much more ignorant we really would be about our conservative party. They do nothing to apprise us of what's happening. We have to rely on secondary news sources. I've been a registered Republican. For a long time. I finally terminated that and I'm a the point where I have to seriously consider what kind of a viable third party candidate is. I tried to reach out to our elected officials in advance of this vote. No calls nothing. I sent an email and I left messages. I got nothing back. Nothing back from my party. The only idea. I'm relying on you and Facebook at this point to try and stay abreast of what's happening. Trying to stay engaged. Our party has just basically abandoned us. I can't I can't describe it in any other way. We've been abandoned. We've thrown in the towel in those of us that are hungry for a truly conservative way of life to restore her white to some, some greatness is before we're hungry for this and our party just won't let it happen. So help me understand, Mike. There are so many good people that populate the party like yourself. What happened? How did we get to this point where both you and I Are lamenting publicly. That we have no home. Rick. You know, I'm going to speculate here in I might be way off. I really might be way off. But as I've come to know and love Hawaii I got. I got a point out the truth. Hawaii is such a close knit community that you it takes a lot of, um ah, lot of networking to get elected. You've gotta have. You've gotta have the support. I think that And this is only my opinion, and that's an observation. I think that our party has taken advantage of of some of the nepotism or or the networking. For the sole sake of staying in power anymore. Um, it's it's not about the votes anymore. It's about those people that Aaron leadership trying to stay in leadership, Ah, and maintain some someone's of controller power. Regardless of the party that they're in. Um I just they're not Republicans anymore. That's that's enough shell. They're not Republicans. They just have the art behind their name at this point, so What do we do? I hate to say we're at a point where destroying the system to try and rebuild it is is our only viable option. Um, but I just I met a loss. I mean, they are not listening to us. They're not listening to the people they're supposed to represent. Um, I just I'm really at a loss, Rick. I mean, I'd love to move, but I still love Hawaii. Man. I mean, I still love away my family's born and raised here. I don't want to leave it, but they're just destroying our economy and taking everything that's positive out of this state. And just giving it up. I really wish I had a strong idea, but I'm willing to work with anybody towards a viable solution. Other, Mike, I cannot thank you enough for taking the time your articulation. Of what is transpired is very valuable on get Rick. Without you. Our ignorance would be even greater. It really would. Thanks for what you do. Thank you, My brother. I know it's a lot, guys I know. I know. Every other radio show. Is a song and dance. I get it. When you come to this one, you got to be ready because there's going to be Some serious stuff that we talked about this Is one of those moments. Of many Really hear Mike had to say you couldn't ask. For a more dedicated, loyal Active, educated Articulated. Individual To represent and be a member. Of the Hawaii Republican Party. And.

"Other statements because I I think it will occlude what my point is. This community is searching is sick. A siren voice of opposition. To the ridiculousness and the dilatory ISS effect of the status quo, and it's been going on for generations. And this it aeration of the Hawaii Republican Party. Defacto. They have that opportunity. To truly rise and be that organization. Give it It's a passion. And by not having a specific response and reply and proactive position. Utilizing the press, and I don't want to hear this. Well, the press doesn't like bull crap. You gotta work it. That's why I get fired up. Because that search is on And There is no excuse for I'll continue with this in just a moment and more importantly, share a very critical part of this story. In context. My communication with Shirley. It's a 20 in the morning. Thank you very much for being with us. I'm not taking calls yet. So please. Hold on tight If you'd like to call, Please do so. "Would win with the D next to its name in the district. And I just do my hands up. I said, yeah, that's Hawaii internet show. Doesn't matter. What happens is they pass? It doesn't matter that one of the highest state tax. They in the nation. If there's a D next to their name people are just gonna pull that lever or Mark that bubble in Hawaii. And it just really sounds that. Nobody actually wants to issue. Well, that part is time honored. There's no doubt about it. And for that Susan we thank you for your call and to justify that take it back to one thousand nine hundred eighty eight Pat Robertson was a presidential candidate was a cadre here within the Hawaii Republican party at the time that embrace Pat Robertson that forced many who consider themselves Republicans to switch and go to the democrat party. It's it's we have self inflicted wounds. That lead us to the point where we are now. But at the end of the day, there's no doubt about it. You'll have individuals that run under the democrat banner who may have a conservative bent to them. But because their ultimate desire is to be in that office. They'll do whatever they can. I don't know if done Ricardo Kim, who's a dear friend when she made the switch from the Republican party over to the democrat party was it because of his share utter absolute embrace of what the democrat party stood for and what they had done over the years and historically speaking. Or was it simply a rejection of where the direction of the local Republican party was going. She didn't want any part of that the belief system in a political party. I think is an antiquated idea. I do. Because you can't the the reason why we have two political parties for expediency. It's for someone to say, oh, he's a democrat. Oh, that means he's this this this this this and this and you can make that assumption. But oftentimes, it's not necessarily correct or the individual under that that particular party banner. Really care. What's what's the best way that I can get elected? How can I win? Well, let me put an our or with. Sanders in Bernie, they he didn't do a put an I mean, the man is proclaimed socialist didn't wanna run on that probably not gonna win. If you consider yourself, a social, but I'm independent, but I'm going to caucus with Democrats, still socialist. So I appreciate the call very much. There's no doubt about it political expediency supersedes political affiliation. And also, any belief system attached bodily our seventh..

"Immerse was she was pretty specific in calling out. Andrea about this whole K TV four business, and they all get squared away to your satisfaction. Was there? How did that all really shake out at the end at the end? I think it shook out of a a miss a miscommunication. And I think it made their change stronger to make sure that they can communicate with each other. Again. I I, you know, Melissa would have been a great addition to to that broadcast because she does bring an amazing perspective to to the ticket when we talk about other races. Of course, we have congressional races before us tell us about the candidate for first congressional district and why folks should support him or her yet? So you know, Cam has has experience as an elected official before. I'm he definitely brings a conservative voice. And and one of the main reasons is with the Washington DC currently being. Dominated by Republicans. It certainly would be great for her. What used to have a voice at the table. And with the party that's running Washington DC now and currently with our current delegation. We don't have anyone who has the ability to. Sit at that table. Yes. Who is the candidate for the second congressional district and share some thoughts there. So Bryan Evans is from Maui. He is he doesn't an independent his Republican. But he's pretty independent from our party. But he he has run before. And he's making he's making a play for for it again. And so, you know, there's those there are those Republicans who don't necessarily want party help for party, you know. And and that's what he is. But he's a he's one of our candidates that we're supporting US Senator running against maisy. Geraldo, tell us about the candidate. So Ron is an amazing cadidate. He's a retired engineer of quite a contrast from Macy, actually, in many ways, a conservative voice, a pro business and very very pragmatic. And so when I say, it's a conservative voice. All of his solutions are very pragmatic approaches it very analytically, very objectively. And I think that he is a good balance to a very. Emotional and and Radic amazing. I kind of took my next question that is what is it about maisy Hirono that really does not serve Hawaii. Well, then why should she be replaced? Well, I think that I think that mazing as. As of this past term that she's had it's just been more radicalized to to the left and has been very abstract obstructionist. And and and and doesn't. And doesn't represent Hawaii. Well, when she does that. And here is trying to get some help and assistance from the federal from the federal government and from the administration, and and our Senator is very not just critical, but obstructionist to the administration who's trying to get things done talking with Shirley Nostra chair in the Hawaii Republican party, Shirley, what's the number again over to the office. It is five nine five nine one eighty three eighty three that's your number. So you give you give us a call. Yeah. I was gonna say, wait a minute. That's your number very it's five nine three eight one eight zero. Gotcha. Just before we go, and I want to thank you very much for taking time on a busy election day. Yes. Thank you. What's the party's position on the constitutional convention? The party is yes to a constitutional convention, and the primary reason why. Well, I think that you know. We we need change the people who don't want a constitutional convention is afraid that we would perhaps really on entrench ourselves in being not hurt. But I think that if we if we do it right and get the right people elected to participate in the constitutional convention that we can make some meaningful change for Hawaii. And it's our position is. Yes. And how about you before we go, you know, this is going to wrap up another election cycle for you as chair of the party. How does how does the future look for you personally? So personally, we. I'm just hoping that we that we come out of this with a few more seats. We certainly have great candidates that will be ready. The next time if they don't win, and we have great elected officials those that will win. So we're going to continue to nurture our party and continue to move forward as we have done in the last eighteen months, and we're very proud of that position that we're in. And we look forward to it being just a marker of a starting position where we where we grow from here. So I'm just curious as possibilities you project? A gain in seats in the house, and perhaps will we have a GOP Senator this session. I'm I've got my fingers and toes crossed. And it certainly we certainly have worked towards that end. So I'm hopeful. Yes. I had a visual of fingers and toes crossed. Exactly. So final is for you personally remaining as chair. This is a position that you're still embracing something you'd like to continue to do. Yep. So I'm not thinking past right now where I'm just totally. In fact, I'm not even thinking to tomorrow totally focused on what on the job at hand today. So as soon as we hang up, I'm going to get back on the phones and get back on the road and get people to the polls. And we appreciate your support wreck. I just wanna make sure we had a chance to hear from me because I know that you do dedicate yourself into talapity and a lot of folks don't know, if you don't mind me sharing this is not a paid position for Shirley. And this is something that is voluntary. And this has a position that.

"With the composition of what we face each and every status quo moment. The reality is it's once every tacky. Now, we can get into the minutia of virtually every single legislative procedure site that. But is it really part of the valuable conversation? If you're going to lead an effort to get the con con vote on each and every ballot every two years. I'm with you. But let's also be brutally honest. We live in a condition right now, we're we're lucky to even have an election every two and four years. Let alone have a con con on that ballot. The bottom line. It's about you. You're empowered to cetera. And that's what this will allow you to affect this year. Today. And that decision is going to be up to you. As you go to the polls today opponents estimate that for some reason somehow somewhere. The cost of consideration of the content and execution of it will cost over fifty five million dollars. Where do you come up with that? Where do you actually come up with that amount of money? So listen, everybody has their own opinion. I'm just sharing mine. And if we're on the same page, great for not great, no problem. Oh. Chuck online voted no, seventy Democrats created Ohio would use as our tax money for just one race at his racial discrimination against everyone a violation of federal law, then change, Ohio, Chuck. Put the legal challenge out if it is as you state is racial discrimination. If it is illegal, then move forward and sue them. You're saying that this that con con is responsible the individuals and the decal and the delegates are responsible not the process itself. So in other areas of great import that should not be denied an opportunity. This whole business with all has nothing new. And remember what stimulated what brought this to the four was the days in which people lived in the late seventies. This was an extension of a resurgence of a sovereign sentiment within the native Hawaiian community Lincoln state government. To be responsible as the conduit for what their issues were. Now, if there's a bastardisation of that process that is with the organization that is with the state. It's not the con- cons fault. You're on NewsRadio eight thirty. If that's the case, then we should do away with voting because you have people that are being voted in. That are contrary to what you believe what you believe they may be in. Constitutional opposition of. So let's just not vote. Let's not have a democracy. Let's not that. Betsy logically doesn't sit word at eight ten in the morning. You are dialed in together. "Dot org. Rather has been doing a great job of following the legal proceedings regarding the deal we in bullied. There's also an excellent piece that appears in regard to engineer to Poland who is GOP candidate for governor and having read during the break a little bit feeling compelled to chat about her in her candidacy, and I'd like to get a take from those who are dialed in right now. If we are honest about the composition of the Hawaii Republican party. Sherline ostrov. Of course is the chair of the party. But the face of the party is Andrea Tupelo, and she is the representation of the Hawaii Republican party today. Now, there are others like Bob McDermott good friend for years, gene. Ward, of course, for years as well and others who were serving in the house, but the titular head of the party is Andrea to Poland. If you are a Republican, and you are part of the Hawaii GOP I'd like to get your take on Android to Pola. She is going to appear in a debate on Monday with governor, David Ige. There's no doubt at many give her a slim chance of defeating an incumbent democrat governor, we get that. However, this is a wondrous opportunity for the GOP to put a foot forward that can resonate with others who are not necessarily committed to the democrat party, but can also invigorate and instill a bit of confidence a bit of pride and a direction to where the Hawaii GOP could go evanger to Pola prosecutes herself. Well in the upcoming weeks leading to election day, so five to one eighty three eighty three what is your opinion avenger to Paula? I'm actually nasca brother. Scotty. Let me ask you this. I i'm. I heard at one point that there. There's no reason for there to be a debate from the side. What was it that is it just in his mind thing he has to do just to her face or whatever just to? To avoid that. But what does he have to gain from it? He has the game from not shying away. One thing that governor has as a trait is a perception among some that he's not very I'll try and be euphemistic here aggressive. He's laid back. He's very mellow. He's not a dynamic personality. As I said with Andrea its representation of the party is the democrat party were to refuse to debate that can be a state, and that can feed into a lot of concern that it truly is a monopoly. That could lead to words like dictatorial, or what have you, right, and the Democrats don't need that. Because that's something that can last over the next couple of years leading up to the next election cycle. So there's almost an obligation if not by etiquette and tradition. But strategically you do. Well, I will say that I need this. I need this debate. I need to hear her speak. I need to hear back and forth because you know, when you have any sort of race and someone proclaims this is what I am. This is what I'm gonna do and other person proclaims. This is who I am. This is what I'm gonna do. Let's exchange those let's have them have an exchange and argue the points because. They both sound like they're confident in what they're standing for. But can they defend their position? Can they show practically speaking how you implement the things that you're claiming to be able to do if you're in that position. And I think that's what we question with. Well, I don't want to say we that's what I would question with her. And I don't know her. I don't know enough about her I want this. I want to know more. What do you know about David Ige then? Well, I only know what what he's done or hasn't done in his time in office. But yeah, he's not the most as you said effervescent person, he's he's not one to seemingly anyway, boast about what he's done. And he just kind of goes about his business keeps his head down and not a dynamic leader. But you noticed dyke during the crisis moments. How many times our mayor said nice things about him? You know said oh it was. It was amazing that he got us all together. We've never seen this kind of coordination time of need. It was all about promoting governor Ige because someone has to do it. If he's not going to be the guy. But I mean, there's there's political associations there. Exactly. So some say I'm not saying I'm seeing that was well thought out, and it seemed like probably the way to do it because of his personality type there are people who genuinely don't brag about themselves. They would rather other people do it. That's how they were raised that's not necessarily a bad quality. But it's hard when you want to be the leader to be that way. I mean, he does. I mean, he come. Comes out, and he'll say that we have done this. And I have done that the difficulty is there haven't been many moments in which to do that. Take direct credit, then he has to take direct credit for the shortcomings, which he has not done either. So at the end of the day when we talk about governor, David Ige, what has been the greatest accomplishment. What has been the greatest impact that, you know, universally as citizens of this state that has been rated under his role in leadership. And I think that's something that folks need to contemplate we get into this whole business of personality, which is fine, which is part of the discussion. But can anybody really site a profound accomplishment? That has been affected under the governor's stewardship taking over from governor, Neil Abercrombie. Now, if there's going to be exciting that HFS, TA or other unions, etc. Have achieved great success and advancement. Well, that's not necessarily huge accomplishment because it's those entities that put David Ige into office defeating an incumbent democratic governor, which is very very rare. So let's turn it older. Who's David Ige? What's been the biggest accomplishment of this administration and don't worry because I don't think we'll have any calls. Like, I'm curious to know, what would come up now. Let's see. But on the flip side of that it'll remaining moments to Pola if you are a supporter what compels you to support her. What are the qualities that? She has exhibited has there been anything in her role as a house Representative that stands out that gives credibility? To her candidacy, whatever it might be either way you're on with Rick and Scott to be in the morning, News Radio eight thirty seven fifty eight. Traffic. You've got a couple of accidents. In town. I'm lady even the flagship fastly traffic.

The eight o'clock hour already can't believe the time is moving by this quickly. We're dialed in together. They can't wait for us to continue our conversation. A couple of things I'm going to go through some local news here in a moment. Want to update you a little bit unfair. Then coming up, we're going to get together with our brother that you. Join us every Monday morning at seven AM for the illustrious the irrefutable. Unbelievable. Undeniable indefatigable C square have we can't wait for that conversation. That is coming your way. And if things continue this way, we may begin a little bit early shoots brought up. We're already Chris has already here. We're ready to roll me. We may just do this already. But we'll we'll figure all that out coming up in just a moment. Couple of other things we have ticket. I'm sorry. We have CD's to give away tomorrow with John Matthews your host tomorrow on the recommended program. Can't wait to do that tomorrow. There is also a rally that is taking place that you don't wanna miss. We have the opportunity to join in on C span. I'm going to be going over to C span. Tomorrow morning to go see and some friends also heading over to Fox News. See brother Griffin Arabia, and in many other friends, but tomorrow, it is going to be the angel families. This is at the capitol building. Tomorrow. Now local time is at ten AM here in DC. So that is going to put you at four AM back home. That's all right because they'll also be rebroadcast. You can also set your DVR because C-SPAN won't be covering. You can go online. But Kelly Kellyanne Conway will be in attendance sheriff Joe, Sebastian Gorka, congressman Steve king from Iowa. Tom tancredo was just talking about Steve. Senator Tom cotton will be on board and many many other friends the centerpiece of this two things one is the continued urging. And aggressive pressing of those on Capitol Hill. To advocate for those families who have lost their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, etc. To the hands of illegal aliens. Those who have encroached upon the United States illegally. I'm not talking about immigrants from any place in the world that are here illegally. That's not the point. It is a preventable situation if we would simply enforce our existing laws one we do not. There is a consequence. They can be grave and you've heard Michelle yesterday and Marianne today and God bless them. Because they are truly driving this tomorrow and a tremendous amount of presidents on Capitol Hill. So I want to keep that as a Senator centerpiece of our discussion the other part about it too is yesterday I referred to. Why people would think that immigration is an issue that resonates in Hawaii. And I just want to reiterate, very briefly, ladies and gentlemen, we are the fiftieth state of the union whether we're next door to Texas or Arizona, whether on the east coast to our friends in New York or Maryland, or wherever might be whereas much the United States of America as any other state in this union. And the networks of what is decided for you by others. It happens to you every single day of your life with you like it or not, and you need to be a part of this you need to be aware of it. You need to know. What's happening with the representation that you have manifested by the aforementioned maisy Horon O'Brien shots, Colleen to Busan Tulsi Gabbard. Do you know we just went through a primary election at anybody really take a look at voting records. What is being reported? What is being planned? What has been done anything for those who are receiving that office? Why would you vote for maisy Hiroto? What does she done seriously that has been productive? That has been a beneficiary for us in the state of over the past five years is there anything. Oh, she's a critic. Oh, well, congratulations. Your dial into NewsRadio. We are here because there is a net effect. We've compiled statistical data I could go through it all over with you again. I'm not going to belabor the point because you're aware of that already. But please understand statehood day last month in August nothing zero no recognition, no celebration. No acknowledgement. No public declarations. Oh, you got a day off. Why government employees HGH TA UP w all the unions got the day off. Why? Because statehood day is celebrated. Oh, wait a minute. I'm sorry. My bad. I misspoke. Statehood day is exploited and it's used for personal self aggrandizement and personal enjoyment has nothing to do about celebrating that we're the fiftieth state of the union has nothing to do about us being part of the United States of America. So immigration. Does it affect us? You bet it does financially socially. But here's the other part as part of the fifty states. We have that voice that needs to be exercised. And of that voice is being bastardized by those who don't belong to be there. Then the siren call is to replace him. It is not simply your right? It is your duty identify those you agree with identify those that exercise that common-sense approach that exercise that desire on your behalf, go out identify them support them and ensure that they know that there are people within our community that actually think a lot alike and they're not alone by goodness. Don't rely on the Hawaii Republican party, by the way. This isn't a siren call sorry. That is not it go out identify, those whom you embrace. And take that next step. Listen, we gotta get back in studio. Take a short break. And when we return we'll continue with thoughtful conversation and eyes wide open for our friends to join us, if not we're gonna do seventeen straight hours with C square. That's all there is to it. And we'll start with cutter. Okay songs. I believe he'll play Bruno Mars, Bruno Mars C square will give you the very latest. We're already at eight fifteen in the morning. You're dialed in together. We're in Washington DC worth at the Phoenix Park. And we're celebrating fares hold their feet to the fire radio event. And we'll be back in a moment. It is eight fifteen. Traffic accident in kunia cleared on flagship fast-loop traffic center, stick with the aftereffects of it though is still heavy as you approach kunia and through the eight hundred two and then as you get to the middle street merge or back the viaduct and one a little freeway still to continue through Khalidi Pali highway difficult drive there through the lights Eastwell who traffic slow on honor co Hollomon or means that we to UH..
