"Up next strongmen wise, any competitions coming up on competition coming up in October, a new new new competition in Dubai is I think all of the big guys are competing. Yeah. So I'm I'm training for that right now. Do you have to have like one one other competition in there, at least once a year to to be able to do the Arnold and to be able to do the world's strongest man. Like maybe you don't need to qualify necessarily, but you need to tune up a little bit or now. Or you dislike to do it because he like to do to keep myself motivated to keep myself to have some goals. You know. Right now I'm on pre prepare myself this this show. So you know, it's it's, it keeps me on the point. He's meeting my six minutes day. Kiss me on training to catch your Email on bitchy. Is there any variables with your food variables with your diet like a year? Just to like eat a pizza here and there have some ice cream or you pretty just. I'm pretty calm consistent, but. Like maybe once a week, I, I give my Sal space if that, you know, it depends if I feel like I want to give us a little bit space and I had my son Pittsburgh or whatever. What's your favorite food favorite foods? Probably steak and rice. What do they have in Iceland that they don't have here that that you really like. Any sort of specific meals or anything like that? She like overall, you have guys have busy, everything that we have, but we have, you know, alike reliant or is aligned. Is pretty unique and goods. Nowhere else in the role. I think tests denies length. Very cool. Well, it was amazing having you on the show. I thank you so much. I can't even begin to express in words. It means a lot took the time to come here. I know that you really busy down here shooting a commercial. You're in television in movies, you're the world's strongest man. Congratulations on that. That is really unbelievable. And I'm sure you'll be battling right with some of the best again this year and at the Arnold as well. Congratulations and good luck with everything. Strength, never weakness and weak. "Before sleep. You should watch the Ronnie Coleman documentary if you haven't seen it already. Yeah, it's on Netflix and on. I tunes and there's a good vodka story in there. I've seen it. So he has like those shots vodka, and then he gets back on stage the next day. And he's just all Jack help the hydrate him a little bit of help help poll some of the story script help wholesome of the water off and stuff like that. And then so with your acting career, what's going on with that? What she got going on. Just finished filming Ceasar Nate with game of thrones and. I've gotten. I have got different opportunities with with filming lately, but with my career, it's heart to take bigger roles because it's like, like, let's say, if I'm filming for three or four months rate. Like it's impossible for me to become the best. It goes against some of your main goal, which is being genuine to be the world's strongest. I wanted to find my title. I'm twenty nine years old now I don't want the fundamental. So you have to make choices like I'm here in our LA because working here in our commercial to travel quite a bit doing different things doing commercial doesn't take too much of the time, but you know, I said, I have to make a living, you know, commercials, just maybe two or three days or something like that. It's not yet not nearly the commitment of a movie. Yeah, I think we gotta get you in a action movie, like against the rocky could be like the main bad guy. How do we do that? Well, who do we gotta talk to maybe rocker. Yeah, in the future. No. I mean, you gotta be able to beat him up. I mean, he's he's pretty big strong, but it's not the world's strongest man. Exactly. You know with him in it, you probably think that he would probably beat me up, you know? That's true. Did did you see? I think I saw you boxing, not too long ago. And then did you do some stuff with Conor McGregor awhile back. Good friend back in Iceland here. We also professional boxer and sometimes we play around together. Yeah. From what I remember now I think about, I think it was you and. I remember watching it and like you guys were going at it then like playing around guys going out pretty good. That's a couple of years ago. Yeah, me and my friends were just playing around, but we depend present watching it and I was like, this is really crazy to see. You know how, how? Well you're moving and stuff and throwing these punches. But then I started noticing the other guy. I'm like, oh, he's in. He's in there with the savage like this guy's a pro and you guys, you guys are going back and forth, but then he was kinda getting the better because that's what he does. He, he's, he's biggest while, you know, he's tall guy and he weighs, you know, in a. I used to. He he's probably close to one hundred forty three, three hundred pounds. You know, he's got to watch on YouTube. He's a big guys. Well, it gets intense. Yeah. Liberty tons. How to mcgregor's how Connor McGregor do against you. Funny. I was filming in Belfast's with gamma, thrown and offensive. Mine are gonna Nelson. Also Dublin, Wisconsin McGregor training for for fight, fight fight together. He will saw pairing himself against also, you know, the the girls. Yeah, Greg great fighting knocked him out and like what? Two seconds? Right. So I was talking to and and asked him if he could common both suggestion of, you know, was there training for for for this competition? So me me and my friend retold Trower Monthan was session and wasn't planned. I just, you know, in the heat, we took some pictures and the, you know, we're just joking around and somehow we got, you know, start and review sparring. I was I was wearing my was wearing socks and gene, so you can definitely see. It wasn't plant right was just like to. Two guys with full of testosterone turnaround. That's cool. "You know. I tried to. Obviously, you know, different companies trying to resolve sponsor me, but I'm learning throughout my career that I need companies that I believe in myself, right? Something that I can promote without like feeling that I'm forced to, you know, like. Like I'm proud to use noon heart-wrenching. You know, it's something that. 'cuse me kiss me hydrated and how healthy through throughout the day and year, you know, you know proud to be working with rock finish great company, great people behind it, you know, and as as well as as Petit you know, great things doing, you know, with the noon, tablet that was actually STAN efforting ings first introduction to hydration, because Jesse Berbick and myself, we're at a meet at STAN was competing, and STAN was going to give up like he, he was just hydrated. He wasn't feeling good. He he already is very pale, but he turned even wider than already is. And he just he was just looking sick. I mean, he just was not looking good. And I was like, man, I think said, what have you been? You know, what? Have you been drinking? And he's like, he's like, I been drinking tons of water. And then I had a lot of Gatorade and I'm like, man, like that's the water dehydrates you and pulls out a lot of electrolytes. And I said, Gatorade is not good either because it's giving you a lot of sugar and in order to keep up without amount of sugar in that amount of carbohydrates, and you need x. amount more water and we don't have time to replace all that. And so I said here, try these. These sodium, potassium calcium. He sucked down a bunch of those got back out in the platform, and the rest is history and breaking some world records that day. But he, he was going. I mean, he was on his way to the hospital. He was like, I'm going to the and I said, no, this is not the way power thing works. I said, we leave the numbers in. We've still got a dead lift. I said, just if you still don't feel good and a little bit, then I agree with you. Let's get the hell outta here. 'cause we got to be smart, but drink this and relax and he did and he's able to come back stronger than ever now he's promoting everybody's to dump salt and their drinks and salt their food and and everything like that. Is there any other business stuff that you're involved in other than your career acting. Stuff that you're doing? Yeah. How own Jim back in those him. I would. You know. Places just like not too long go. We got into a Costco in the UK. That's great trying to get in in into the states. It's hopefully soon, but we are, you know, getting water water, it's it. "You still gotta do just gotta door because doing, you know, you're all in it to be the best. You know in end of the day, I think we find the strongest man, you know. Yeah, that's true. I think that's for sure. You know, some of that people don't realize in strongman is the warm up, you know, the warm up for these, you know, stone lifts and the warm up and you know, world's strongest, man. I'm sure the Arnold is setup as well as they can get those set up. But some competitions earlier in your career, sometimes to prepare for a stone lift might just lift the barbell a bunch of times, right? Because they don't have like extra stones. Right? Sometimes the warm up is like unconventional and not really all that related and you don't even know if the stones are going to feel like because they might be lopsided. People throw weights in the stones like literal like forty fives and twenty five pound plates in there on the amateur level to kind of create these certain weights right. It hasn't been hasn't been great in the past, you know, with with. You know. They quit that we have that we have a SaaS to, you know, being able to get warmed up for the, but it's getting better. It's getting better with, you know, roll fitness, they're crazy none. They always. They just signed this this the this year. They partnered up with Warzok man. I got it got ten times butter. That's great. So it's, it's it's getting better and better put a Stephanie room for like like they can improve it for sure. What's something you would like to see the sport to cause a sports, you know, sports popular on TV. But you know, there's probably it's a great sport. There's probably still more room for the sport to even do better. What something you would like to see the sport do. I would like to see them for sure. You know the first thing that comes to my mind is that the show it, you know, I think it's, I understand this have to show at life because it's over like too few days, but you know, showed we flare with before. Fantastic. Like three years too old school and thing. You know with today, social media, everything they have to stop their game and you know? Yeah. Like get it out sooner for shared. I'll soon for sure. I think that help us both lost. You know, because people with the internet and everything today, people, you know, get information day letter, just the same thing, you know, how'd you get into strongman specifically. I, I got into just, you know, it's couple of cover couple of my friends for. Going to compete at best wagging back in Iceland, and I knew that I was stronger than them. So I decided that I wanted to show you how this is done. Yeah. I, I want to try something out nearly lost him alive at that point, ouster near shoulder in Reno was doing just training like. He lost, you know. So I want to try out something new. Tried someone else fest in law, visit throwaway. Bennett in, you know, it definitely has tends alive, you know, you know. Oughta time working, you know, in clubs or the security guy, flagging terrible job. I'm happy where I'm at today. Yeah, that jobs the worst being like a bouncer working working nights like that and all that kind of stuff. So you're involved in some, you've got some sponsorship. He got rogue fitness, I believe. Right. And then did you create like a bar with them or you made something made a product with them? Power bar? Yeah. Paul. Thought wearing all have couple of teasers with them as well. Expertise while there won't much censors. And noone noone like hydrogen tablets. I love those grace. Are those create a to send them great company, something like all of my company into the working with our very proud to be with..

"Much you away. I am right now like close to one hundred eighty five kilograms. And then when you compete, are you two hundred property? Like ten kilograms heavier? Yeah. Like maybe the heaviest close to under in like I may like one hundred five probably and some possibly if there was like more movement or more athletic brought into the sport, maybe you could potentially way less on game day in maybe walk around healthier. I don't. I'm not sure. Yeah, for sure. I mean, I mean, you wouldn't have to compromise and get and get so large because a sport when required as much. Yeah, definitely. That's when I when I look at it, those are the things I see. Like I understand what they're trying to do, but sometimes when I see the yolk Carey and I know the guys are getting stronger, but I see it's like eighteen hundred pounds or whatever. I see somebody carry it and they stumble with. It they only move. And I say only it's eighteen hundred pounds, but they only moved at a certain amount of feet. I think to the crowd, they don't understand data understand they'd I think they'd rather see a travel little further with. It might be more exciting if there was a little bit of a race with it or medley, you know, those kinds of things. I, I do agree. You know, it would be better to have maybe bit. Lila lighter. "Steph, Pearson is someone who she placed fourth place other also men, two thousand nine. He is one of my training punters. We kinda like he's also kind of like been my mentor in my mental in my career. He eats, he's tall. He's taught me a lot that guys while he's a great guy, great, France travel sometimes together, and you train a lot together. What about some of the other? Is slanted guys get a chance to train with them? Or what is it got? Like Benedict, Magnusson and and some of the Magnus Magnusson some of those guys? Yeah, Trent with them all. Bantus bended monks lives now your cast on. So I can turn him a lot think about Benedict Magnusson. I mean, what? Like what? A talented athlete, like holy shit deck. I was, I don't know if he's still on the circuit in terms of competing in strongman and stuff anymore, but holy shit, man, that guy was one of the stronger people I've ever seen come along in the last twenty thirty years that guy's value anybody talented than he could do like you so strong. And I, I don't even think that he knows her song. He like if you put his mind. To it. You know, I think you could, you know, do some crashing numbers. You know he had think he's like bench, press like six hundred pounds. He's spotted over eight hundred pounds. And obviously yes, the he has biggest dead Lifton powerlifting history. He's just unbelievable. And I never seen Cavs like that. At those mutated Cavs, and it doesn't even train Cavs. That's the. Yeah, there's some talented, talented people out there and when you get in the world's strongest man, I mean, you're seeing, you know, these guys are does keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger and more athletic to people able to move faster able to move heavyweights around quickly. What do you think about the structure of world's strongest man? Do you think that's do you like the fact that a lot of times these weights are getting like these crazy crazy numbers, or do you think you would be better to see a more athletic approach where maybe the weights are a little lighter, like, say, for like, say, for example, on something like a yoke walk, you know, say it's, you know, a thousand pounds or twelve hundred pounds, and you get to see the guy go further or you get to see the guys race with that way rather than I think sometimes it's like eighteen hundred pounds or something like that, or what do you think of some of those dynamics in there. Yeah, I think you know. The guys are getting stronger as volume. It's, you know, we are, you know, pushing the organism lifting more. You know why they're making it more challenging strong. We'll just getting stronger. And the the level today is just insane. You know, the guys are so strong. Sources, it's getting out of hand for allow people, obviously, because the ways of getting heavier and heavier. But the guys getting stronger. I would like to see more movement in the sports. "Last year late last year wasn't great for me on feel very great, but almost believe, you know, when you always have something hot, something difficult, you know that's going on in your life, you you become better. You can be you become stronger. And I, the world time in time in my life where I've just, you know. Fucking can't do this. You know, to to difficulty you. I'm just too much going on stuff like that. Affleck's giving them, but then you think about your family and you know, just to sell you not a question, I'm not. I'm not a quitter, you know, I wanna, you know. So it's like you make a decision. And with the decision to become so most more dedicated, you know, gather dialogue that you have to yourself. Sounds like it's very healthy. You said earlier that you know, can I squad a thousand pounds? Can I? You can start to take those questions outside of lifting. Can I make more money than I did last year. You know, it could be anything you could set our mind to to pick any any type of goal. And the answer is yes, like you can get. There's always room to get better. You look at like some like the rock or something like Tom Cruise, and you know, he'd say, you know, can Tom Cruise get better at his trade? He would say, yeah, of course. I can. You know, I just sit can take time you'd ask the rock say you think you'd handle doing more work or more this or more that he'd probably say, yeah, I just need to figure out, you know how to schedule it or whatever and done deal. I think we all have areas where we can improve, and I think that's great that you share that. So you kinda worked yourself through that by kind of thinking about your family and thinking about some of those things about your your own, like morals and values placed on not being a quitter, never sure as Houston where people suggest because they're the believing in themselves on the the workout you know is, you know, success doesn't come with ledger, you know, right comes with work and you know, believe in yourself, believing that you can be. Whatever you want to be like a lot of persistence and perseverance takes takes a long time. What age were you when you realized you were different? Like what? How old were you when you were kind of looking around and maybe you lifted or did something and everyone was like, whoa, that was different. What's going on with this guy. A number relief audible muscle. Like I'm different or something you know are saying he didn't notice that your giant. I mean a a normal guy. Yeah, always. But I'm not really. You know, I think we'd all equal. You know, in, I guess he grew into this over long period of time to you always been tall, I'm sure. Yeah. But then the frame pie took awhile Bill to work with heart from science and everything for for the hat. You know, it's a lot of hours and you know. Swath to some stuff that went into it. You know, it's something that wasn't giving successors, not giving anybody, you know, it's, it's, it's. Is like upset before this being consistent being consistent in believe initial. Having also having the right support. This also posted, you know, having the right people behind you Atika team behind me. I think that's also important how the right people are training partners. "Progress habits every year for me. Now, past few years, a motorist getting song better. Haven't been getting weaker, so that's great. We also have to have the mind for you have to believe that you can't become the in in whatever you on. Like if you to be. In the world, but football player, Paul after whatever. You know, you have to believe that can't become the best if you don't believe it, then I can't sell your canonic always believed in myself and all. You know snuffing is impossible for me. I if I want to do something, I can't do it and always Thomas can't do those things. Like if someone says four thousand pounds say yeah, fuck you. I can. I can do that. Fuck ya. Not Disney the time and preparation. Yeah. Yeah, pilot. I mean, honestly, if you prepped for maybe gain a little weight, probably wouldn't be. I wouldn't even be hard. I mean, my plan this year was to squat thousand than I was speaking to my to my coats. I was actually being about to stand and Sebastian off the time and they both agreed that, you know, it wasn't necessarily for me to go heavy on the scar sociology, strong enough. We won't. I want to work more on my dot lift took the scarlet, you know, Don Liberte on. Focused more on the events that lift them over at press how much you bench press. I don't really like, yes, our heads and stuff. Program, you know, but you know, the strong are gets the more go to like inclined, inclined, pants, press. And then I, you know, it goes up a higher higher. Don. I can't remember the numbers. Like I've done to twenty four eight reps quite comfortable. You're no-. Keiichi of Don. Haven't done one rap bands in a long time. Like max when I'm like very strong, right. I'm usually when I'm getting this song. Working on this more Ryan, four friends or even higher? You know, I'm not man in mainly the work, the triceps or something for the blog and stuff like that. Yeah, the risk to award on some of these exercises just isn't worth it. You bought a pack and you know Utara pack and you're gone for a whole year, take a really long time to recover from that and then who knows what complications might happen after that. So you gotta be careful with the selection of exercises. Do you like to do any bodybuilding? Do you like just just for like hypertrophied sake? Do you go in and like train arms or shoulders or in like actually get like blood into the area or you don't do anything like that? I do that. You know. After a long travel may be, I wanna hit the gym, but I I'm really there to hit a big, you know, session and walk in the gym. And I do some like body pumping all just to get the blood moving and feeding better, you know? Yeah. Is it fun being world, strongest, man, like when you, you know, you run into different people going through the airport and they say, what do you do like rather than even saying your competitor? You can just kind of flat out say, well, I'm the world's strongest man feel really good to be able to say that it is a nice feeling, and I've started a couple of times always. It's great because I'm a big, do you know if people don't know me? And there may be talking to last me, but walked Walter you to your professional RA, rush wrestler, or. And I told him I am the world's strongest men as good thrilling to say. So I don't. I don't have to like push straight out there. They're probably just like, wow, that makes sense. That's that's. That's pretty awesome. Has there ever been times in your life professionally? I know you've been chasing after some success outside of the strongman arena as ever been times we been like depressed or heading Zayed's just about, you know, the type of work that you're going to do or your future or anything like that. In your head, you're thinking, man, he's not really doing everything that he can to be the best or if you see one of these dudes out till two in the morning, partying or whatever. It's like guy said he wanted to be the best. But I think so, yeah, he's not actually following through action and I get to be the hard thing. You know, I'm sure before you met STAN. And before you met your strength coach, was his name Australian drink? Coccia supposed? Yeah. Before you met some of these guys, I'm sure you're highly dedicated and putting his much into it as you thought possible. But then these guys kind of show you like another level. Yeah. I mean, I'll wall steady Kate before him, but having those guys are all great guys, great guys pushman to the next level, you know, stand mentioned something about, like maybe at the Arnold or something. He was like shopping for food for you, like pillows or something. I don't even remember what it was, but just making sure you're comfortable. Yeah, mega show. Have you know everything? I need's all eight and just, you know. Meghan sure on game, you know, it's very good to have him. You know, on team, he's helped me off to a of see Michael split of those guys combustion and stun efforting. What about like massages and stuff? You got to do a lot of that too. I'm not a big fan of massages. You know. I never personally got a ton out of the mother beyond, but I, like I said before, I do a lot of Houghton Colt LOL to lights in preparation when I'm like focused full force into it on probably holding cold men move three times. Yeah, and that's a lot easier to do, but you probably got used to it. Right. Got used to something more so-so. Mix like five times a week. You know, dedicated like four sleep, like ten o'clock. I just went halt Colt halt called force four sets of five, five cents depending on how felseek no. And just went straight to adduced knocked out. Has ever been a time, you know, like as you were progressing as you were going through all this and pushing his heart as you can. Have there ever been a time where you just kinda were super frustrated, like, man, I don't. I feel like I'm doing everything I can, but Faulk. I don't know. I don't know what to do next to to get better. You ever feel like stock or kind of Zion about trying to get that next level sooner. Maybe in the early in my career expecting too much too soon of myself, but not they signed the stand, you know, if you want to be successful, you have to work out. You have to become system. And when I'm very consistent working my heart. I will see results. They are gonna come and you just have to follow the program a menu, follow the program step by step. They buy. You know, he's a great guy and you know it, it worked great for me and I'm still on on his diet. Still using chichi pup, like nagging me to do a number actually. Have hard time keeping because of my size. But after I got used to using my soup of, you know, the sleeping machine. Totally chance the game. Right? And he was the one who was always nagging me about that. You know how you have to. You have to make sure you're getting, you know your sleep this, you know, have to make sure your sleep. And I think that that was also a big factor. You know, always diet, but also the sleep. You know, I wasn't sleeping equate before all respraying couple of times night, probably three or four times. Now? Yeah. What up maybe one tries maximum to p. or something leaving better award fresher feeling better. So that. Was a big factor that tends to get anyone that's listening to this. You know, you know, it's a good sign when you go to when you go to work out and you like a lot of guys are taking tons of pre workout and getting all hyped up and crazy for the workouts and teach their own. You know, do do your thing, right? But if you are still doing all that and you're taking stimulants and trying to get yourself all fired up and there's nothing there to draw from, then your nutrition is not on point or and or your sleep. And that's something I learned two years is like that my sleep was really poor. I think I'd sleep for two hours at a time. If I was lucky when I was heavier and it was just go to the gym at every intention of doing the best that I possibly could. I wanted to put everything I could into those workouts, but I couldn't just like it just felt like just didn't feel fresh enough. Didn't feel like strong enough and then you know. Sure. Enough, like two weeks later, I'd get a little bit better. Sleep in the workout would be through the roof. It'd be a lot better. And so that was huge, made a huge impact on me as well when as you were traveling and stuff. Has a lot of that stuff changed. Those stands really adamant about the meal eaten your bison and you rice and getting all these certain foods in what did it look like before you met STAN? Would you kinda just grab a burrito or grab something on the run. Definitely tenses while you know, I always, I never traveled with sheep pop are never like, yeah, try to, you know, mil per foot with me and try things, but I wasn't. Consistent as I'm, you know, he helps me a lot with a meal. All you know. Getting those what I'm traveling, you know, and and whatever, whatever, whatever I'm going to stay. She always take my sheep, but that's the first thing to unpack my bag. Ming. Showmanship up is less the first thing. You know, if I don't have it, I'm not sleeping. That's the case. I would just buy. Forget that was figure out to get. You know this, the kid against it without it today. And also the meals can't like I get. I stated Ingram, I don't have a meals. I have to have a meal like it's just it's just. Popped today. Right. And he taught me that he taught me to be. This consistent, you know, you're a professional, you know, it's like if you just think about it this way. Let's say we were hanging out with like Conor McGregor. Right?.

"I like to associate Michio fast. Keep them happy. You know. But. I'm just here trying to get us out butter. Yeah, all the guys doing as an excellent way of looking at it. And I saw some lifts that you were doing, you know, going into world, strongest, man, and I think a lot of people that follow strongman training and just follow strength training in general. Sometimes a look at somebody and they'll go. Wow, like our this guy either. This is just part of his training and he's just really, really incredibly strong or he's peaking too early. You know, I saw you squat nine hundred in training, which I. Yeah, I've never seen anybody over six foot five. I don't think squat over even eight hundred pounds, much less nine hundred pounds. So that was a remarkable feat. And then I think eighty one dead lift for some reps, maybe three or four reps or something like that. It looked pretty whatever the case was. I just remember it all looked pretty easy. And I remember in talking to STAN, STAN was getting with you at the time. He's like, yeah, I don't know. You know, I said, I look us, it stand. I said, how much do you? And I know about strongman training. He's like, we don't know anything about it. I said, that's right. As you know, pry leave that up to his coach. But I said, if you look at the lifts, they look like they're done pretty easy. So in my opinion, from what I saw, didn't even look like they were real max for you anyway, even though they were heavy, is that highly fell or did they feel like they were. Definitely right. I never train. You know what? I'm preparing for Columbus. Another train to failure hours have more left in the tank. That was always the case. You know, in all of those which is that the put up there hours at more than anything. I never changed the failure and it was all planned out weeks weeks before you know, had written outs on papers and it's we was plant, you know, obviously, you know, you make some changes throughout the weeks. Can't happens. Audible switch things up, but everything was plan felt good. I was very consistent, dedicated training, denied everything. So everything felt great. Just, you know, training and everything was perfect, you know, without amount of training do you need some down weeks like your your squatting, real heavy, deadly, Thrilla, heavy, and then probably working on some of the events and stuff. How does that work as you're going into the contests? Yes, I think everyone is different. You know, with, you know, the Bari holiday cover too. You know. Everything. I think body does recover quite. Nicely with training, you know? But obviously you know, after you know, heavy sets of that defense squads language through there, you have weeks where you're doing a labor of lighter show with my my my li- lighter weeks. What we're still heavy for our people. You know, I was doing maybe I can't remember it, but you know, massive this, let's say four hundred twenty four hundred kilos like squats for two to wraps the next week did maybe three fifty five reps, right? We'll still heavy but wasn't crazy for me, but not number numbers are big. Yeah, loud your nervous system to pie recover. Yeah. Carrying in the next workout. Yeah. Do you think conditioning plays a big role in it because it seems like you gotta be in shape enough to be able to handle kind of the brutality of each workout? Sure, for sure. I think. It does play a role, a big final ten minutes after my meals, you know? Yeah, moving stuff like that. And I'm also a big fan of Holland colts have a halt and Colt. Okay, you know, Tolman the I used at the loft from recovery and I think it works great for me athletes, you know, somebody pushed myself in further further. So I think a lot about how can I recall myself so I can train even harder. How can a push myself or what can I do to become better like like in any way? Like it's not just it's not like it's not like I'm just eating six day and these training tools. The is lot of all the things in Waltham doing to making sure that I'm getting as strong as possible..

"Work pays off being consistent and never giving up. You know, throughout my career in quite busy. I got involved in game of thrones ago that quite soon. My love that quite soon in my Collier. So this sheet like it was wasn't just someone round the world doing all kinds of stuff. KOMO cels fitting for game of thrones, you know, movies, whatever, you know. So I've been been busy, but I'm minutes to make it work together. You know this year will. Very good for me because most of the filming was after Wilson's men. So that's the first year of menace to fill. Most of my, you know, shooting days afterwards, men, so that birth out. Great for me. I had some from this, but not the lot. Most of them from weekdays after all six men and some of the day's for up to eighteen hours of work, which is Chris, you really train any property when you're like shooting long days. Yeah, and people don't. Maybe they don't understand. Strongman training is is pretty specific. You can go in the gym. You can lift some weights and that can help transfer over strongman. But without the implements and stuff, you can really be at a disadvantage, right? If you don't have some of the things around that you need for sure. For sure you can you know work on your like strength, you know, just like the, you know, our overhead presses that live Scott's union worker neuro-, you know, basic strength. But being good soman. Isn't just showing up Jim, doing heavy Scott's death. You have to learn the events, you know on. It's an his law protecting as well. You know, you have to find the best way to make the winds were for your, you know, in. You know, after, you know it's, it's. To become the best in the world. You have to be good at everything. We have to train everything. We usually know the events until maybe. Eight weeks before not it depends. Really, you know. So it's, you have to like throughout the to train everything, basically. Do you feel like at some point when you were finished finishing second and third that maybe you're also maybe paying attention what the other guys were doing? Maybe like any hall would hit a big lift, you know, Instagram's big thing and you see all these lifts now. And Eddie obviously has had a big dead lift and everything. You sometimes see some of the things either guys do and maybe you were enticed by that. Maybe steered your training the wrong way or. No notable concern of what the other guys doing. I was always focusing on myself working with my colts, you know, working on my goals working myself better..

"I mean, my grandfather, he lived in a phone for thirty years. So my my dad and his brother, they all raised on a farm, right? Like most of their child, you know. So they're all pretty the harboring guys work the lost. You know the end works throughout the day, so they're all pretty strong. You know they had to, you know, live different things, you know, and and. Are you know. Stories with my father, you know, lifting big stones, you know, in in the form playing all that's our pre unique. You know. So it's definitely in change. You know, definitely with the height and strength thing, you know, like like Nacho destroying guys. Is that something as a young kid, maybe you admired senior dad, like just being so big and like picking up heavy shit. Maybe you're like, oh my God. Definitely. I remember my dad was always in crates when I was young. He he looked good. You know, he didn't train, but his body was just very well shaped. Abs- tries to chest this look very good. Most most of the guys did because they were hard-working guys worked on a farm and Bill slice. So remembering now I, I remember my dad like that. I think I think. Looking back. I didn't realize it when I was young, but back thing that's, you know, inspired me like, I like that he looks cool. He's. Yeah, so yeah. Is your dad's still around today? Yeah, here's still around today were best friends. We talk. Think of you win in the world's strongest man champion. He's supposed to be a lot comes. The most most much shows. That's great. He's very proud than he. He's worked guy as really cool when some people come on this podcast. And sometimes they'll say they had no support from their parents. Hoy's like man out must be really tough. 'cause I always felt like I always had good support and I always had good love and my family, yes. Same here. I'm. Away happy with everything I have had me. No, my parents, my family, my sisters, you know. It's not something. Is, you know, given, you know, I'm very. Fortunate, you know that the have secrete family behind me is definitely helped me achieve my goals and helping to post me. She the people that you lawf- behind you back and they come to your competition, she'll you wanna. You wanna push harder. You know it's stringent. It's mule. You're like thing about, you know you doing it, not just for you, always. This is, you know for you, but you're thinking about the people, you love us, all you wanna make them. Do you feel happy with yourself? You know, like a lot of times people win stuff and it doesn't necessarily always maybe give them exactly what they want, maybe doesn't always fulfill everything inside. Do you feel you feel good? You feel good about yourself? I do. Yeah. I'm happy with my saw with with this this year and everything that's going on in my life. But. I'm not done yet. I still have far inside. MIR still won't win more titles. Is like, I just wanted do like Thon on on finished. I'm happy retires. I still even a probably have more fire inside the meeting now than ever before one on. Great. I want to become even better and one on. In every aspect of live, you know, I just wanna push myself when she how far can go. A lot of people don't realize that. Sometimes, you know, when you're going towards a goal, you can go at it with everything that you have. You could put an all the effort in the world and you can have the food right, and your sleep. Right. And still at the end of the day, damn there. Somebody else get in the first place trophy and you've had that happen several times, you know, at the Arnold and at the world's strongest man. What have you learned from some of those things. Definitely along doesn't feel like a long turn to me. But when I'm back, I will six times on the poaching before I wanted. You know, man, three, three times third, three, ten second. Yeah. And lov learned throughout those year is hard..

"All right. Well, we're, we're here today with the world's strongest man, amazing job getting that title. That is a really exclusive thing to get tough thing to get the competition level has been driven through the roof over the years. There's this more and more people come into that sport and over the last several years, it's been kind of going back and forth between several people. You got, obviously Sadoun Vikas who's considered the greatest all time got Brian Shaw has won four times. He got Eddie hall who won a championship as well, and then you're able to get one in there. Let's let's back everything up and let's start from the beginning. What what's your? What was your childhood? Like did you were you always attracted to strength, or did you play other sports. First of all, thanks, Mark. Appreciate that. Thank you. In the beginning of my Celts. I didn't play a lower sport until I was may. How old is thirteen years old when I stopped to play basketball. Unplayed that levels seventeen. Pretty good. I'll tell you p. Always warned to be good, you know. And I tried very hard, but I broke my appropriate wrist ankle. Twice had to pull out, decided to take a break for year because all injuring myself become be ready. I read when you're trying to become audit in your fourth. Also, you know, but Braga twice. So second surgery, I decided to break south lift weights more hours at interesting. You know, with all the running, I couldn't really gain allow size, right? So with the break took this year was was disappointed to be year, you know, and up to be pure longer. I saw dramatic gains in the first year. I. Stronger, stronger. It's it's it's, you know, month day, like I just got the vais got in-law with lifting weights fast. So it's straight. I know you know is Lynn is is known for its strengthen. It's not a huge country, but it produces a lot of strong athletes. Lot of great athletes and a lot of the females in that have one crossing games, world titles are from Iceland. What? What is it about the country is is something in the heritage or is it like something that's done? Traditionally that makes people strong or as mindset. Thing. It's like definitely allow difference. You know, things that play a big role in it. You know. The people had to be tough to be able to live and the competition in Iceland. It was easy to live there back in all this. So you know the songs people surived than. And I think also real small nation with only two thousand people. We live in this big island. We wanna stand all wanna. Make, you know. Mako proud of us, you know, right. So we try try hard to to well in sports is not not a lot of things to really do. Turn winter volley gets way cold dark. I think people have all, you know, get in the sleep train allowed. Always we want, but athletes for sure do that. You know that just get in the mind to the train eaten asleep. Are a lot of people. They're health conscious like, you know here in the United States if you're in like Los Angeles or San Francisco or some of these bigger cities, people might be kinda health conscious. But if you're in the middle of our country, that's where you'll see a lot of obesity. A lot of people not paying attention what they eat, what's is like, yeah, I think you know, it's like, oh, we're all you know if look of the population people are, you know getting more and more into the healthy thing more about the body and you know thinking moldable themself. But if you if you used to look like just twenty years ago, it wasn't like that it's getting better and better yet your, do you have other family members, brothers, sisters, and things that I go two sisters and they tall. They are for for like women gra- tall, but not giants like myself. Where did this come from a family heritage at all or just just a random selection? Yeah, my so my father, he's calling me and he is out the same height about the same heights lung. Then he has three other brothers. All similar. Hi, this wall fully shit. Yeah. And then my grandfather, his father, he is like same. This def Stephens in itunes is some old stories about how strong some of these guys were back in the day, like just doing construction work or things around the house or something like that..
