"There's a line. And I think there's a threshold and I think what Kevin did chase was over the line for a lot of the fans. And I think that's why the many black flags we got today kind of piled up. Now we had Scott Miller from NASCAR on me. This was like we always do on Mondays. And of course, we asked them about this. And he even said that he felt like the sanction anybody felt. They want hard racing. They don't want to insert themselves into these kinds of things, but if they get past the threshold, where they think they might, they're going to, and it feels like guys, Kevin Harvick might be at that point right now. And I think NASCAR is going to sit down with both him and chase Elliott before we get the Texas this weekend. Paid my question is, do you think? And I know this would be total speculation on any of his part. But if Kevin Harvick would have booted Joey Logano, would he have gotten the same reaction? Dale, I don't think so. For two reasons. One like I said earlier. Dealing with Chase Elliott, right? The driver. But two, obviously, the bad blood that went on between these guys at Bristol. And it was just waiting and waiting and waiting and then it finally came to risk. I'm going to be honest with you guys. I kind of forgot about it to be honest until it resurrected itself at the role on Sunday. And you know, now we're in the playoffs, right? And, you know, you don't want to be the guy. I don't think that wants to go out there. I thought Rick Hendrick said it perfectly. Listen, we have no problem racing hard with someone, but beat us on the racetrack. Use your speed, use your handle, use your performance and beat us. Don't just pun us out of the way. And that's right, think again, we listen to listeners today, guys. The fans don't want the umpire to make the call. I get it. But sometimes the umpire has to make the call. And, you know, it's baseball, playoffs right now. You know, if a pitcher is back in a guy off the plate, give a little chin music. I think the umpires are cool with that. But the minute that ball starts to head toward the helmet and it becomes a bean ball, then the umpires have to step in. And I think it feels like what Kevin did might have been in that kind of bean ball category right now for NASCAR. You mentioned Major League Baseball playoffs. I appreciate all those congratulatory texts with the Red Sox beating the Yankees and going up to one of the reigns. But you also mentioned listeners Chandler is on the phone Chandler. You're on NASCAR America motor mouse. Thank you, Steve. And first off, I want to send my heart warm condolences to the family of John west town. John was an incredible driver. He will be dearly missed. So guys, the round of 8 is here and there are 5 drivers who have won a championship. And looking at those 5, who do you think is capable of winning another championship for 2021 in the country? Great question, Chandler, Pete, I'm gonna throw it to you. We know chase is the most popular, but what do you get from the fans and what's your opinion as an a list? Who do you think's gonna make a run here? I think it's gonna be Kyle Larson. And isn't it funny? You know, the points as they run as I was watching you guys on Sunday, the telecast, he was out for something a big part of that on Sunday and I was watching Twitter and a lot of the media people were saying I can't believe this. This guy that won 6 races going into Sunday isn't even gonna make it out of this round. He did. Obviously, with a 7th win. So Chandler, I think it's gonna be Kyle Larson in there again. And I think it's gonna come down to the two guys you see there on screen. Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. I think those are the two best guys. They've come to life here in the most important time of the year. And I think when we get the Phoenix, there's going to be two other guys there, but I really feel it's going to come down to the 5 in the 11 and I got a feeling it's going to be the 5 and it's his year here in 2021. All right, Pete only a couple of minutes left. I guess I want to get your reaction on Harvick bell Byron Bowman eliminated any shockers in that group is the one you just thought for sure would move forward. I kind of thought Kevin was to be honest with Stevie, I really did. The way they've been running, you know, without all this other stuff we're talking about here. You know, we talked to Rodney Childers just before the playoffs started on the morning drive and he said he felt much better about the kinds of cars they were building and bringing in the playoffs and it actually showed. So that one did surprise me. I really thought William Byron was going to pull his fan out of the fire yesterday. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way for him. So I think these 8 drivers that we've got here starting this weekend in Texas is going to be fun watching this down the stretch, and we know it's lurking guys after Martin's after Texas in Kansas. It's Mark. And that should be a lot of fun to see it as a Phoenix run for a title of the week after that. Paper stoning, morning drive, SiriusXM channel, 90. Is it DJ? Tomorrow, DJ, throw me a little Tim dog or something on. Don't give badly the controls. His DJ hours awful. Well, we'll not see any pick the music for you, DJ, no problem. All right, thanks, Pete. Thank you so much for listening to Pete and badly each day. You know, the kind of they get the real pulse. They got a lot of fans. They get a lot of call in. So I asked him the question, I guess I'll ask you to Harvick bell Byron Bowman. Is there just one driver you thought was going to advance? And I'll also parlay that into who's going to make a championship run. Who did I have? I had Kevin and. So you had Bellini. Bella make it. I expect to bail. Listen, I expect to be able to run really good. A bell has really, honestly, disappointed me during these playoffs. Yeah. Because I thought he would bring more. I thought they would have brought more, but they didn't bring anything to these places. So is it fair to say that Kyle Larson Denny Hamlin, those are the two that are separating themselves, not just in points, but on track performance. You know, he just pointed out, there's 5 of the 8 that are champ former champions. And neither are Hamlin or even. So we got two of the three that aren't that are going in that they're the favorites. When you look at that, but you have so much experience there. And you know, Ron Blaney has been the most impressive driver from Penske. I believe, and I think he could win one of these first two races and become a part of that championship board. I thought Team Penske did a great job excelling in the awkward round of Talladega and the roval. I have concerned at the back to back mile and a half. Last for Ryan Blaney, he's kind of been there, but the two real big concern for the two. I think Blaney and legato have excelled in this round. You want to say, the other one, I'm not so sure. He's struggling. Yeah, he was a great driver. I didn't know he was the damn magician. He poured one out right there. He had one more. Hammer's gone two for two. He won the first race around one, won the first race around two. Can Danny Hamlin go for the hat trick and go into the final four with a win at Texas? Wow. Yeah. That's a great way to do it. Listen, I'd say yes. I'd say yes. I'm gonna go in that way. And the regular season and the two biggest wins you can have in the playoffs so far. Sexism Phoenix. Four wins, the most important of the year. Well, listen, NASCAR motor mouse comes back again on Wednesday. They'll look forward to Texas. It's been a blast. See you again next week..

"That looks like a 9 year old chase Elliott. I've got a little Clark griswold vibe. I like it. Oh, I'm sorry. I had to throw the Kevin Harvick 9 year old chase Elliott store if you're listening and you said one to Kyle Petty he'll wear it on the nest. Yes. That's how we hold up. Well, that's a lot more to talk about. We want to talk about big test today next gen on the roval. That's what 2022 looks like. I think Pete pistone might be joining us. I'm gonna talk a little bit of the next round of the playoffs. More to come on NASCAR America motormouth. NASCAR playoffs continue with the round of 8 from Texas speedway on Saturday. It's Xfinity series on NBC two 30 countdown to green three o'clock racing from Texas and then on Sunday also on NBC countdown to green at one 32 o'clock Cup Series racing from Texas and then don't forget the NASCAR America post race show where we're gonna break down everything that happened in Texas Motor Speedway for the playoffs. Another big news story today was the 2022 next gen car. There have been some tests with some wheel four stuff. It's a good year test, but today was the first organizational test. It's boring, every team can't bring cars. It's basically for every two teams you own, you get to bring a car. So Hendrick had a couple, a small team like spire head one, Penske had a couple. It was wonderful to see the cars on track. I spent all day out there. They sound great. They look great. Man, they got the braking zones good. So I guess I don't want to get too carried away with next year until next year comes. Yeah. But DJ, I'm going to throw it to you. Let's just talk looks. I think they're good-looking race cars. Yeah. Oh, there's no doubt that it's a totally different look and they look fantastic. No doubt about that. I think there are certain places that they like the robot, they're going to perform to the drivers are going to love them there. I think there's some other places because of the suspension and everything that goes along with it is going to be so totally different that probably the younger drivers are going to adapt quick. But when you've been doing something as long as Harvick and some others have, I think they're going to have a harder time adapting to that a little bit. They're great race drivers, but it could be a little different. I think it's been since 1958 since they run a symmetrical car. I mean, honestly, so much real quick. So if you look at a stock car currently, they are not symmetric. There's not a centerline. The car is offset. It is a circle track car that we take to the road courses. If you stand behind this car, it's showroom quality. It is the same right to left. And you know, you can go to the Hall of Fame and look at cars from the 50s and the 60s and the 70s and then you start into the 80s. And you see the cars bodies begin to move to the left. And certain places, speedways, it's a little bit different, but if you could take that body off and look at the chassis and look at the weight distribution, you would see all the weight going to the left, too. I mean, there's so many different things that this car is a totally different animal than anything they've run. Over the last 15 or 20 years, specific maybe the last 30 years. Well, there's a lot to be learned, but we've learned today is 21 of them showed up. Yeah. So there's a lot of race cars out there and it's fun to watch while I teased it before Pete pistone is going to join us after the break. We're going to hear what he had to say on the morning drive. I'm sure the fans were fired up, probably nothing about chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick. There he is, the man. Pete, when we come back. NASCAR America motor mounts is back and joined by co host of the morning drive on SiriusXM NASCAR radio Pete pistone Pete checkered flags, black flags. I'm sure nobody had any comments about Harvick and Elliot this morning. How was the radio show? It was a great show. Mondays are always a great show, because we hear from the fans and Stevie, as you just said, we ask him, check her flags, black flags. What'd you like for the weekend? What didn't you like from the weekend? I don't have the unofficial totals in front of me, boys. When I got to tell you, I think Kevin Harvick got 99.1% minimum of the black flags from the fans today. Now there's a couple of things I think here at play one. You're dealing with the most popular driver in chase Elliott. I think you got to take that into consideration. But I do think a lot of the fans felt like what Kevin Harvick did just was way over the line. Listen, the fans run rivalries. I want rivalries. You guys want rivalries. Bag man and I talk all the time about that's good for business, right? But I think there's a line. And I think there's a threshold and I think what Kevin did chase was over the line for a lot of the fans. And I think that's why the many black flags we got today kind of piled up..

"Place period. So that's not the same thing that we're talking about with Kevin Harvick. Yeah, I agree. And you know, until Harvick cleared things up in his interview, we could, as I said, from a driver's standpoint, I could have made the argument that he just got into the gas way sooner and way harder and happened to hit the 9 car there. And they were racing for a position and racing for playoff of trying to get through Harvick had to pass as many cars. And if you move in somebody out of white, that was have been the case. And in this case, it was the 9. For me, it's Apple and oranges and here's why. Whether he hit him to move him up to go buy or to recommend tensionally or whether Dale senior rect Taliban to win at Bristol or when Jeff Gordon hit Rusty Wallace for the bumper run or the day I was standing at the gas pumps that he was going to beat the crap out of Jeff Gordon because he moved him for third at New Hampshire. And they told him they could go back all the way back. That's the beginning of racing. That's right. In my opinion is what happened with Logano? And Matt Kenseth had nothing to do with racing. That was not racing. No, that was way beyond racist. Yes. Intentional, not intentional. When you and I are racing for position, I don't care if I send you off into the tools. That's my right as a race car driver. And you're right to be mad. You're right to retaliate. I mean, people don't want to hear this, but if NASCAR got in trouble for everybody who ran into somebody else, it wouldn't be worth watching it. We wouldn't have many yellows. Let them hit each other. Okay, I'm gonna go one step further here. So when I got my license to drive a race to drive a cart road car, I realized really quick that I could outrun the local police, but I could not outrun the radios. So if you are going to do something, don't broadcast it on your radio channel. Because you're guilty already. So we heard the radio chatter. I'm going to get this guy to pay back. It's this assist. Listen, dude. Man. Guilty. End of the conversation. That's it. You know what I mean? Yeah. And I'm going to take one thing and this might be a little alpha of it, but we hear all the time that we won't rivalries in the sport. And I don't care what sport it is. That's good for sport, you know. Now, intentionally raking people I don't know that that comes in, but in this sport, if you want to rivalry, then you're going to have on track incidents that are going to make people unhappy about what happened. But if you want rivalry, we can't have it both ways. You can't have a rivalry that doesn't have some of this. So let's not condemn everyone for that and put it into the sense of where and trying to compare this to what Matt Kenseth did in that. And we've all been in that situation. We have wanted to do that sometimes in having that moment. But the two situations are totally totally different. That's not a knock on matter, anything that we're not at all. And that is not a nicer guy. Let me go back to buying Martinsville tickets because I do believe that and I said it. I think his timing was interesting, right? They had Las Vegas. Yeah. And I have to go back and watch race, but I'm confident at some point they were near each other at Las Vegas. He chose not to do it at a very fast one and a half mile track. But you got in that slippery slow second year infield at the role he found that actually, I think that's the second shot because if I go back the end of stage one, there was a couple swipes across the bumper. I don't know if those were messages or misses. Yeah. But he didn't miss a second time. And the fact that, at that point in time, the 9 car is in the playoffs in the round of 8. And the four car is not. All right, dusty, you're on NASCAR America motor mouse. Hey, thank you so much. I just want to say that race yesterday and that's really amazing atmospheres, amazing and hard work went in a while. I just got to say that was awesome, but this is the best rivalry. I think we've had in 30 years. And everybody saying, we need more rivalries and more arguments and fights up their races like juniors always saying and this is great. And do y'all really want NASCAR water on this fire? Because I'm telling you, I'm going to Martin zoo and I want to see this continue. I'm loving this. This is what we need every week in the sport. Well, here's what I would say. I don't think it's NASCAR's job to put water on but as NASCAR's job to not. They can't ignore it. And I thought I was very happy to say yesterday. Remind everyone, they spoke to him at Los Angeles. Exactly. Because great job. They're not driving the cars. All I can do is talk to the two and tell them what they wish would happen moving forward. But those are two grown men driving race cars. And they're going to decide how they're going to operate. Yeah, we don't need fans being thrown out here, anything like that. You know, this is a sport with people that are highly competitive and a world that most people can't get in because nobody gets sits in a 140° race car for four hours at a time. Listen, I'll never get on a fan for booing a driver. They don't like. No, cheered for a driver that like. Sports are about sports, you know, one of our bosses said, we're getting ready to go cover sports not brain surgery. Have a great time..

"He was trying to think of you at this place and it keeps me. Going to get Harvey. That was a hard time. Cole Custer's like, how did I get the most? Caught the wrong Stewart Haas car, sorry about that. All right, let's go back to the phones. You're on NASCAR motor mouse. Hey, guys. How are you guys doing? Wonderful. How are you? Doing good. I just wanted to go back quickly to the Bristol incident between chase Elliot and Kevin Harvick was I know with me trying to really understand NASCAR and doing with fans having access now to iRacing and all this stuff. I know there's like some unwritten rules going on to where you try your best to pass the leader or pass the car in front of you, but you can, without wrecking your car. And Kevin Harvick, I think clearly did not do that with him cutting his tire and being able to not have the right finish that chase Elliott thought he should have and then racing him hard like that. I feel like it should have probably realized that way that the only way for him to win was to be able to wreck Elliot or to be able like last year to try to get into the next round of the playoffs was direct Kyle Busch. I just wanted you guys to take on that. So he wants to go back all the way to Bristol from I don't understand. And I think this is where this all starts. I mean, the whole thing started when Kevin Harvick went up the track, made contact with Chase, causing Chase's left front down. I saw that as what I love about Bristol. I saw this move right here as chase right on his right rear door and Harvard running off the racetrack. He didn't even push the 9 all the way to the wall. If it doesn't flatten the left front tire, I'm not even sure we review this. I'm not even sure it makes the highlight reels. Yeah, no. He was just trying to get the lead there. They're racing for the lead and for the win. And to me, that was just short track racing. And unfortunately for chase, you know, it came at the expense of getting the left front tire cut, having to come into the pits and I'll even go as far as to win chase came back on the racetrack. He passed Harvick and got in front. And I know that Kevin says that that kept him from winning the race. That chase slowed things down so that Kyle also catch up. There are two other lanes on that racetrack that Harvick never tried to use to try to pass the 9 car. Now I'm not saying I know where his car worked the best. But there were other lap cars that were running up there too. And so, you know, I'll go as far as to say that that he had other opportunities to make a pass on the 9 and maybe not lose that. Yeah. Listen, that move right there. You see a thousand times at Martinsville, a thousand times at Bristol, and we saw at least a thousand times yesterday. Run somebody a little wide through the corner, make them check up a little bit and take the position away from. That's just, I mean, go to your local short track. You're going to see it Saturday night. You're going to see a Friday night. That's just so it's not an intentional move. But you don't do it to cut the guy's tired. That's just something that happens. And it doesn't happen every time. It does not happen every time. This is my son, raises off coaching to that move. I'll take what you need. That's right. You can't see that. Nose out your right front peripheral. That means he might be back there, and that's his problem. That's what you need. We're going, we have fought for the spot. And we are discarding this guy and moving on to the next 500 laps that night at Bristol in probably he probably happened 30 other times at minimum that didn't cut the tiredness. That's right. He said something, though, after seeing Bristol's mayhem and the cut race at rohl's mayhem, if the phone lines at Martinsville weren't lit up all the way down saying that's exactly what the fans are. I love that booth. I get to see the whole thing from me. It is great. Well, let's see if we have any more phone calls about the car Vic and the Elliot situation. We got one 8 four four NASCAR NBC call in, ask us some more questions. All right, let's move forward. So there's a wreck. Chase Elliott damage. Riding around with a bumper flapping off the bumper flaps. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I believe in my heart if it's not in the playoffs, the 9 gets black flagged. I also believe that NASCAR would give that amount of leverage to any playoff team to not let it affect the playoffs. The question is, is that okay? Is that not okay? Should NASCAR. I think they've become more clear with their yellows. Should they be more clear on what is going to be allowed as far as repairs and dam? We see this.

"Where do y'all want to start? 'cause it was crazy. So listen for the fan, which I think you all know, but let's just remind everybody, this stems from Bristol. There was a cut tire, chase Elliot and Harvick's way. They had words. NASCAR met with both drivers pre Las Vegas. It was clear from the quotes post Las Vegas. Chase was moving on, Harvick was not. I said on the broadcast, that was my voice said, hey, is this payback? Did he wait until a matter most? In my mind, first, let's discuss. Does anyone at this table feel that it wasn't intentional Harvey spinning chase Elliott? I think there was a window where Harvick could have claimed it wasn't intentional. But when he said, life teaches. Then removed. So we could just move on. I could have said, hey, he spun the tires or he didn't get back. That's right. He got back to the game. Yes. And because there was so much damage to Harvick's car because it drove his nose in a long way on his car too. It wasn't just a touch and move yeah. He removed all that stuff. Now let's go to the Harvard incident. I was baffled that he hit that wall. Going into turn one. Was he just, you know, was he driving it in the limit of the car all day because I don't think he had a great car and he's had to overdrive his car, the entire playoffs. I'm going to defend Kevin Harvick with that. He's trying to carry through the glass. Or do you feel his race car drivers? He was looking in that mirror and figured he had better get in there a little deeper than he had in other labs. Who drives into the corner hardest and the fathers and the Cup Series right now on the road courses. Yeah. That's number 9. What has happened before that? You have wrecked the 9 car. Yeah. You see in your mirror, there's no doubt he didn't have to make up both of those spots at that particular time. He was getting himself a weight from that knowing that if he didn't, he was probably going to get hit in the rear bumper. And expected that firmly believed that he might say that he just got in there too hard. But he got in there too hard regardless, but calls he knew where the 9 one. We've raised. Okay. And let's just use Martin Zoe. So you're running Martin's on Mars. And you move somebody. When you get to the next corner, you draw up a little bit. Yeah, 'cause you know it, you know, they're gonna shove you one time. You're gonna get a good hit one time. So if you wreck somebody, you better draw up a lot, man, 'cause it's coming. And to look in the mirror. And what I like about that video right there is the 19 of Truex tries to get position. That 9 card is not gonna give him that position. I am wind up on that four, buddy. Get out of my way. I'm coming through. I think if there's one thing to take from this, and this is making light of the situation a little bit, which we have to do. But I guess the lesson to be learned if you're going to tear up your car is better to do the back end than the front end. For sure. For sure. From a guy that had to tape them together, it's easier to take it back together. And that was a great job. They did a tape in that knife. So we got a whole conversation about the 9 and the rest of the day, but it's about the fans. We have my each and every week. This is your chance to speak. And ask your questions, so let's go to line. NASCAR, you're on motormouth. All right, first of all, I'm gonna tell you about Harvick miss that quarter and rent because it was the number 9 was getting ready to put him in there anyway. So that's fair. Believe that. My thing is on this. So NASCAR's talk to him. But when because of this sponsor, scholarships, all is not what how far do they let this go? When do they intervene and say, okay, the police just off on this one's over, especially now that Chase has advanced. So I'm going to jump in here. First of all, I'm thankful NASCAR talked to him because I feel that puts NASCAR off the hook. They did their job as a sanctioning body. for me in my entire career. If we were on the lead lap and we were racing for position and you wrecked us or we wrecked you, we might go disagree, we might go push and shove, but I don't want referees. I don't want somebody telling us how to race on the racetrack, right? We are racing for position, and that has been happening since the beginning of racing. Now that's very different than retaliation with car that's lapsed down. We can get into all that. I do believe there needs to be another conversation because now we have a car advancing in the playoffs and a car not advancing. So I will be disappointed if NASCAR doesn't reconvene. And at this point, I would even like to see them bring the owners in. And say, okay, we talk to y'all's drivers. And this is what happened. Now we're talking to your owners. We just talk about playoff and non playoff cars on the racetrack. Let's let the playoffs play out the way they should. Now, I'm not saying Kevin Harvick can't make it tough on chase Elliot. He has every right to. That's right. But I don't want to see any more intentional wrecking. That's my two cents. Dale, the Hall of Fame, I'll go to you. Yeah, I agree. I think there needs to be another conversation. I hadn't thought about the owners coming in, but I felt there needs to be a conversation before. They get in their cars at Texas and say, look, this needs to be done as far as wrecking each other. Race each other as hard as you want and make life miserable. We don't care about that. But we don't want to see any more wrecking of these cars intentionally from this point forward, but I think if the owner sit in, then that would help both situations there. And I do I firmly believe in that I might be answering somebody's call, right? With this. But do I believe that Kevin Harvick is going to make life if he can run good enough at Texas and at Kansas and at Martinsville to make life hard on that 9 guard? He's going to do that. I do not think that he was going to rake. I still think the conversation needs to be two things. Chase Elliott did not wreck Kevin Harvick at Bristol. He just made it hard on him. And that's what they was talking about. Kevin Harvick can make a hard on chase Elliot by just holding him up. I just hold him up. At any racetrack, Daytona, Talladega, Martinsville, Phoenix, ended up making differences in eraser. If I was going to have a meeting with these guys. And I'm going to say, I would get the owners. I get the crew chiefs. I get the drivers, and I'd say come to the truck. And when they walked in the door, I would say, consider this your warning. And then I'd let him go. I wouldn't say anything to him. Because they should be smart enough to understand the implications and what being called to the truck just for an ad I don't need to talk to him. They've already talked to him. You know what I mean? Just let them know we're still there. And I don't like that. I like it when you just yell at me. All right, back to the calls. I think ray, my ear is not as good as used to be. You're on the call. Hello. Yes sir. Hey. You're yes, sir, you're on..

"Then anybody else there in state completely under control That's what makes him so fast between something they have in their breaking and something that he has in his ability allows that to happen. And i'm pretty sure that kevin harvick who was looking to see. Was that going to happen at that time and probably made an effort to get a little farther. He had time to pass these other cars and get those spots back. That didn't have to happen right at that moment and i just believed that in that quick glance it only as we've seen in the four races that have happened that the row you only have to go a few feet too far into that corner and you find yourself into that wall. Exactly where harvick win. So i think that was a major factor in that happening. I think that if the non cars not coming there. I think first of all he was totally surprised. He didn't have any idea as most of us did that happened. When i saw that car. I said you know he's totally crashed. And that team dealer remarkable job and then they got some good fortune and we can have that discussion about the the rear bumper. Finally flying off But giving him the caution that he needs to get back there so. I don't think he ever expected to have that happen. You know. i think he was going to be more prepared. Thinking that if there was going to be retribution on that day that chase going to have to slow down. Wait on him and so he could could see and plan for that but to have him in as mirror. I think it took him by surprise. That's interesting chase elliott. Being pretty much the exquisite best in class road course race or the is that in knowing that he can go a little bit deeper in the corner coupled with the motivation of with this guy wants it made it natural like that was happened. We didn't get the answer this question. Either i did ask chase elliott. This question i asked him if harvey hadn't crashed and he had.
Larson wins Charlotte as Elliott and Harvick continue feud
"This is the kind of day championships are made up Kyle Larson's team change dot two batteries and replaced an alternator belt during the race and he still was able to pick up his seventh win of the year I didn't expect to win this we had a good greens like cycle and and you know jump a lot of people there how to get restart lined up towards the front Larson took the lead on a restart with eight laps left and held off Tyler Reddick for his first win on the wrongful it also gives them a sweep of the Charlotte races this season there was also some pay back drama Kevin Harvick put the chase Elliott to deliver on a promise from a month ago at Bristol Brett McMillan Concord North Carolina
"harvick" Discussed on NASCAR on NBC
"Rarely has if you really think about it. Nascar rarely steps in on these incidences. So if you're chase elliott you're like hey you took a win for me so i'm gonna make it hard for you to win this race and if your harvick you're like do racing at bristol like it was i got got inside of you. I didn't mean to wreck you. I just got cut. What are you doing racing incident. Revenge doesn't fit. What happened here in harvard situation. Harvick's opinion no. it doesn't and chases it does. i wonder i have to wonder though if you. If you're chasing you go back and watch the incident and you see harvey get loose if he doesn't feel a little bit. Well maybe you didn't understand the whole story now. You can make as well if you hadn't been driving so hard he wouldn't have you know you can make all those cases but this to me was a different situation than raw raw said okay. I'm gonna run my line which happens to be the line of the leader. I'm that's going to hurt him as go help my team mate in this case i don't think chase was helping his teammate. And i think chase was wrong. Would he did because it hurts his championship hopes. Why are you going to give cow larson. More points to do battle with you. Why are you going to make his pathway to home to phoenix even easier. Yeah even if he's teammate. You'd rather have kevin harvick by playoff points. Then they were you know. No disrespect to kevin harvick but the neck if kevin harvick and his team you can get through the next races next three races. They've they're magicians. Because they haven't had any speed on the mile and a half they have not been good at all in the row courses and you got talladega. The first three races went straight into their wheelhouse for this year. These next three races go directly out of their wheelhouse. So why did you give larsen more ammunition to beat you. Yeah i like to me. It doesn't make sense. I would rather go against this year. I'd rather go against the weakness of what harvick's team has had the strength of. What kyle larson maybe baby. You don't think that through in the heat of the moment. But you know as i was watching that i'm thinking that's very smart. Move payback in racing. Should be when it's good for you. Not when it's bad for the other guy and this indirectly could hurt chase. Elliott hurt yourself. Yeah that's a great point. If i hadn't even thought of it that way but you're right about harvick second round is not a great round when you look at how. He's run on road courses recently. I don't think the rover fits well. And for whatever reason talladega superspeedway racing has been great for that team. Either but i wanna ask you. Because i know you said in the broadcast your talk to harvick last week and we talked to improve race in his media ability and i was struck like he was in such a good mood. I mean he seems like he's in a really good place it might have been you know we learned yesterday morning. That his crew chief rodney children's it just signed a contract extension so the four is together. They've survived a lot of adversity. The season they've overcome some slow cars talked at length about that before the race saturday night at bristol but yet he had this calmness about were just seemed as if he knew how good he was going to be that night and it seems as if the fourteen is getting some of their mojo back here. I'm sure that compounded why you so angry and all the frustration. All the emotions boiling over but nearly a year. Now since that teams last victor does it seem as if maybe they're turning corner. I mean we've seen kevin harvick turn it on. Two thousand seventeen made the championship round when he didn't have a great regular season. Does it seem like if he can get through this round. It seem like they're starting to turn the corner. It seems like it. The trouble lab. God is that we were having been at tracks. Were the weaknesses have been. I think that they could go to richmond and compete for a top five. I think they could go to wrestle. Compete for a top. Five darlington compete for top five this weekend. If they bring speed this weekend at vegas then i'll be like yeah like. Wow but that's a big. If because i actually watched the race back from the spring in vegas and they laughed him right right. That was the race. Were abuse like multi. What's up and they've gotten better since then because they've recognized their weaknesses. Right and when you recognize your weakness you go to work. And they didn't understand they were going to be that far off and they've gotten better but i haven't. I'm not convinced that they're going to be able to have the pace. You know that. They're going to need to have. I mean they're behind the behind in points and they got. They got to find a way to go out run. They got outrun. Joe gibbs racing. They got out run pinski in order in hendrick in order to get into the next round the playoffs. He can do that. Let's talk about some of these other teams. I mean larson wins the race and all three of his teammates advanced now to the round of twelve. I think a lot of people thought and you said i'm motormouth your concerns about alex. Bowman william byron pulls out a third place finish to advance by a couple of points. That was impressive. The gibbs cars though. I thought also weren't quite as good as we thought they might be. Hamlin was great. Obviously until the the contact with larsen but tricks was a little off and kyle busch talked about being a little off as well also surprise you a little bit or a. I still finished fifth and fantasy. But he's on me and my lineup to is okay. He was gonna do okay and he had that dr gotta tire but but yeah i. Winning speed did not need a one on have winning speed and and yeah it did surprise me. I i really thought ghabush going to bristol was gaddafi. Felt like you know. He's so good at bristol but they never never showed showed pace to win a race. There one run. They showed third fourth place speed but they never showed pace to win a race and true x. either yes yes it did surprise me. It does seem more wide open. The narrative of the first round was three seven fifty races. And the way gives raised darlington and richmond. It seemed like okay. This is the seven fifty team in that narrative. Change certainly saturday night and especially with again. How good the hendrick cars were even kozlowski who i wrote off completely as maybe you're not gonna dance. He ran about as well as he faded. Though he toward the end he and he and the you know they both really honestly blaney either. They just can't kazlauskas ran. Good early out of they just didn't have the pace. They just didn't have the pace that they needed They're not way off but they were. They were off enough. I mean compare when joel gano got put in the back to win chase elliott. He got put in the back. Chase elliott putting the back that you looked up..

"Your fingertips with the pr and mobile app. Download today available in the apple app store and on google play. It was like the good old days at the bristol motor speedway saturday night with drivers fighting mad on pit road. After the checkered flag fell as the opening round of the cup series playoff ended with fireworks between chase elliott and kevin harvick. It cost both a chance to go to victory lane the to climb from their cars to confront each other immediately. I couldn't hear him. He had his helmet on and stuff. But you know. I'm twenty five at least take my helmet off to have a conversation with him and he's forty years old so nothing. New elliott also said it was nothing new harvick did a maneuver that forced him into an unscheduled pit. Stop as they battled for the lead. He gets tired of racing with you. You know he runs on your left side and sometimes it cuts down. That's a move that he pulls often now whether he did it then on purpose or not doesn't matter it's happened enough to me against him. That enough was enough. And i'm not gonna put up with it anymore. Certainly may off with harvick. Trying to hold off teammate. Kyle larson elliott. Came back onto the track aiming to make sure harvick didn't win. I just told him it was chicken what he did. I mean the guy hangs on my right roof indoor every week and we're racing for the lead at bristol and you throw a temper tantrum like that. God dang i wanna rip. Somebody's head off right now. Harvick would eventually wind up the runner up to larson who grabbed his first ever cup win at bristol. Real stay close to kevin and chase was obviously upset with the contact and was just making things kind of tough on him and it kept me in the game and you're able to make some moves on their late so yeah fundraiser have always wanted to win here. So qualifying finally do it. Finishing third william byron fought his way from below the cutoff. Line to making the round of twelve beating out eric. Merola and tyler rettig by only two points kurt. Larson Wins at Bristol While Harvick and Elliott Feud
"The night race at Bristol delivered again a pass for the lead with three laps to go once a visible contact after the race was throwing of equipment Kyle Larson chase down and pass Kevin Harvick with three laps to go and held him off for his sixth win of the year and first at Bristol the Larson may have had some help holding off Harvick thanks to his teammate chase Elliott and that led to Harvick's post race confrontation with Elliott which led to a pushing match and Harvick throwing his gloves and Elliott they had to be separated redneck Millen Bristol Tennessee
Denny Hamlin Wins Southern 500 to Open NASCAR Cup Playoffs
"The first of ten NASCAR playoff races saw Danny Hamlin hold off a hard charging Kyle Larson to grab the checkered flag at Darlington Raceway one of these playoffs together was no room for error and you now to fund your ticket to the next round we get to go out there and focus on getting to the second round which I think is probably the most dangerous Larson made a valiant effort on the final lap bumping Hamlin's rear bumper and then as if he was playing a video game banged his car off the wall trying to make the pass seven of the sixteen playoff drivers had issues including Kyle Busch and chase Elliott who suffered wrecked race cars Ross Chastain finished third followed by Martin Truex junior and Kevin Harvick Steve Richards Darlington South Carolina
Is NASCAR's Next Gen Car Safe? Some Drivers Have Questions
"This has got started with with the nascar drivers talking about the reconfiguration of atlanta motor speedway and the and the car. The next gen car and safety concerns with it now. There's a lot of rumors flying around twitter. Which obviously don't don't take anything you see on twitter. Tell me series lead a dummy. Yeah in a crash test. Yeah with the new jenkins died. Yeah so not good good good. We're going to leave the leave that to the twitter rumors because who knows what's true. What's not all that good stuff. However the nascar drivers specifically denny hamlin have been very vocal in the past few weeks about the sanctioning body. Not being communicative. Is that a word communicative not communicating enough to the drivers about. What's going on with the next gen. Car kyle busch was very said very similar things and a few other drivers that were interviewed. Kevin harvick said
"harvick" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader
"Hand over Kevin Harvick, Harvick Racing with Ryan Newman. But Kozlovsky as he comes up to speed may have pulled this one off. Kozlowski is at full song of the long Pond straight away about 20 car lengths, and they'll have part of Ryan Priest between himself and Harvick as Kozlowski leaves turn to heading 23 Kevin Harvick. Some 20 car lengths back behind Brad Keselowski right now is all by himself. On the race track led to the bottom of this can blank through turn number three and pulling away from Kevin Harvick just a bit with preachers car between them The reason it's so important because Kevin Harvick can absolutely make it the distance on fuel. That's why we're watching Harvick. As opposed to Keselowski and Steve Post reported that Jeremy Bolin's Keselowski's crew chief said we have to to judge this three seconds of fuel and how they made the pit stop as to where Harvick is, but Jeff That is not the entire story because there are others trying to stretch the fuel like William Byron. He is actually your race leader. Now he has to conserve to get it the final six laps. Byron making his way to turn three same for Denny Hamlin. Kyle and Kurt Busch. You've got Kyle Larson conserving and then you have Bubba Wallace. All of them would have to run out of fuel to play into the Harvick and Brad Keselowski's hand, so we'll follow the race leader. It is William Byron. Six laps to go. He's headed back to turn number one. And he's outfront by 2.5 2nd. William Byron Saving Everything he can save right now makes his way into turn number one. He's got a lead of about 25 car.
COTAXfinity Recap, Busch Wins
"Nascar xfinity series race recap from circuit of the americas over the weekend. Rain made this one interesting for sure. But kyle busch dominated. He led thirty five of the forty six lap event. Kyle busch spanks the field with an eleven second lead coming to the checkered flag. In his ninety eight th career win in this series I think we had a really good piece. Just overall talking with dinger kind of felt like drive off was probably our biggest thing that we excelled that today. Just being able to keep the rear tires on the car longer being able to get the gas pedal down to make a away longer. Instead of sitting there modulating the gas and kind of playing with it and wasting time to get down that was the biggest thing almoner behind me. He was the closest that could keep up with me for about two laps. But i was always in front of him when we were close to each other. So i didn't I didn't really see how well he was through the ss or You know through the slow section stadium section over there to see if that's if he can make ground on me there keep up with me there or whatever so Yeah that's probably about about it all right. Aj alma dinger ends up second followed by justin all our kevin harvick and austin syndrich rounds out the top. Five point standings like this five to one justin all daniel hamrick. Aj almudena burton. While he is seventy. Seven points. Back of leader austin syndrich. Who has three wins this season op next for the xfinity series charlotte motor speedway one pm eastern saturday. NASCAR at Dover: Top 10 Finishers
"All right. Let's run down the top ten finishers at the monster mile at dover. We've got to call customer last week's guest on the program. Yeah and that's a second top ten in the season and he's like twenty fifth and points like oh my gosh. She's having such a horrible season. he's actually ahead of where he was last year at this point and if you remember correctly he went on to be in the playoffs. Last year this point he had one top ten and now he has to this year. So maybe maybe just maybe you turn it around daniels whereas with a top ten. That's pretty cool. Yeah and that track team has been really good for an upstart team. Obviously they're bringing in a lot of equipment from our cr and stuff like that but still there's still getting it down with with what they're given so that's a top five and top ten this season. Lots of top fifteen's they're sitting twenty second in points that's not too shabby it's The dovers not easy either. This is not any no he said. Piece a cake track so now and he was holding off. Hamlin there for a while at the end of this thing. Yeah yeah how. Many top ten tyler. Radic had now. It sure feels like he's been top ten every week flicked last eight. He's been up there. That's interesting to find out. Here william byron but still no but man. He's up to six this season and he only had nine all of last year so now it's one two three three in the last four. I thought so in the last five eight and then of course Born last six you got denny hamlin who basically lives in the top ten. Yeah that's what he does. He just doesn't live in victory lane. This is a problem. There's it's it's been cordoned off with crime scene tape or something. He's not allowed in there. It's sponsored by eps or something. Right and then. Kevin harvick showing signs of life in the last few weeks to so. Yeah so maybe get ready for a return. Victory and for kevin harvick caps. Perhaps maybe Fellow for driver joy lagana at number five.

Darlington Raceway Throwback Weekend 2021 is on now
"Is darlington throwback weekend where you're going to see paint schemes or vinyl wrap schemes honestly from many eras of nascar racing. The place is called the lady in black the track too tough to tame and drivers race each other instead of the race track. They will most certainly earn a darlington stripe on the side of their car. it's race number twelve. We've had ten different winter so far in eleven races. If if i get a good start there towards the end so same at darlington just you're down.

"harvick" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader
"Kevin Harvick on the inside Ryan Newman on the outside Joey Logano right there. Eric L. Merola right. There they come across the line gives the advantage to Kevin Harvick two by two by two all the way back to the field with no offense to Kevin Harvick. There are an awful lot of Ryan Newman fans in the Infield here on the inside of turn Number two. They were standing and cheering when he went to the lead last time. By this time, though, it's Kevin Harvick on the point, Ryan Newman now will raise him the side by side battle with Eric Al Merola. That's for position Number two. Harvick now runs against the double yellow line at the bottom of the racetrack on Al Merola shoves him further out in front, Mr for Belle third car and the inside lane and moves up to that third spot than the side by side racing resumes. With Alex Bowman to the inside of Ryan Newman. For Ford, One of the fastest cars all week. Long has been Eric Calm role in second place Right now, we watched him into one fifties brand so well look good practice. "Keep in mind Kevin Harvick's big big lead we'll probably be whittled down some mark because when you get a big lead like that there there's no reason to keep throwing fuel on the fire to stay out in front and be comfortable it was nearly three seconds it's bound down to about a second half now one thing that has hurt him Robert looks like he caught an I. eighty five traffic jam there for a moment where to stay on the lead lap Harvick is really good right now it's Austin Dillon in the three Harvey racetrack nextel harlequin hard to get by here and check the differential from him back to the second place running Martin Truex junior there goes hard and there is true accents NASCAR scoring breaks it down one point two seconds let's go to Doug Trumbull and the reason that Erik I'm a religious pitted a loose lug that Gucci by progress it's just told there's a confirmed his driver's suspicions there and by the way the reason Harvick is starting to lose that time he did about two laps earlier the Traxxas tires are older and one other factor here we should bring into focus Harvick has a one point two second lead over Truex that's that's pretty tight you got to go back eleven seconds to find the third place car and keep in mind there are only twenty cars are nineteen cars now on the lead lap and then another second back to joy legado now behind Lugano chase Elliott trying to creep in there just a bit and it looks like Kyle Busch is made up some ground on Elliott's napa Chevy now he has been closing on him over the last several laps now just about three on the backstretch interface L. at about the same Kyle Busch right behind him with the work down into turns three and four of their work when Donald on the high side of watching now race leader Kevin Harvick he just continues his onslaught here rob trying to put more cars a lap down the other one second they came off pit road it was for the second one yeah are you can visually see them as they work on the back is a little bit more of a personal so at this point Truax has the highest running Toyota currently in the second spot also Toyotas in the sixth position with Kyle Busch Erik Jones in the eight spot Harvick's Ford though continues to lead the way with twenty laps to go on stage one total drivers reporting raindrops on their wind chills and we look here and it's hard to believe that it is raining there are a couple of dark clouds here mark I don't think we're in any danger of rain stoppage but when you're driving your car is not handling good the lobby really hard absolutely let's go.

"Up third slam Sarkar back up me and a line for spot for now three Alex Bowman is all over the back back we looked from terminal two hundred dollars in the Harvick leads fifty four laps to go here in stage number two so still quite a ways to go Harvick's advantage on Alex Bowman about a car like that I have to turn one cells third place Denny Hamlin I want right now he looks low again often turned over to his line up in line behind Harvard coming down one right in front of the other it'll be interesting to see just how aggressive Alex Bowman gaps in the early laps hope this tire run earlier on this afternoon he very clearly over extended those Goodyear eagle racing tires fell badly off the pace and ended up losing the stage right now he is on the back bumper of camera harbor but has not made a look to the inside here in another lab or so it looks like he's trying to get around the girl to come into town number three right now and he's going to make Alex Bowman go to the outside lane as well clearly Kevin Harvick showing that is the fastest way off the corner Hamlin is third Kurt Busch as Ford Kurt Busch still having a solid afternoon as of late just consistent throughout the afternoon nice during the fourth spot some good enough since you're coming later sought the banking turn number four best battle in the top ten Martin Truex.
