"The nuclear side of things, I recently spoke with Harry Sullivan. He was talking about new generation for reactors. I'm not sure if you've looked at that and also I've seen those have been a breakthrough in fusion. So there was an MIT project that achieved a major advance towards fusion energy. So it feels like stuff is happening, but we are way behind where we need to be because we're having energy issues in the UK. I think there's been blackouts in China in India, there's the issue with the grid that happened in Texas. Have you looked much at these type four nuclear reactors? To a moderate stand, it's not my key expertise, but essentially the market can shift towards these smaller nuclear reactors. And so historically, they were all sorts of security concerns around having smaller and more widespread nuclear reactors. And because of the CAPEX and the regulation, it was more cost effective to build a very, very giant nuclear reactor. But theoretically having these smaller ones can be very useful. And then, of course, there's new generation tech out there. There's also ones that are using technology that is actually pretty old. It just hasn't been used. And so they're kind of pulling some of those technologies out of the dust bin in dust and those off and then kind of looking into how they can apply those as well. So it's really, it's really underexplored field because it's not something we've aggressively pursued, whereas for example, semiconductors, we're throwing our best at it. We're constantly iterating, growing that area very quickly, whereas nuclear, for example, the number of people going into nuclear engineering as a field in the western world is minimal. And so it's not been a big area of investment. But I'm optimistic. You're optimistic. Well, but you think energy is going to be one of the big topics of, I guess the next decade where we saw our energy from. And how tight it is, I guess to the global economy because if fuel prices are going up air travel, we get more expensive, I assume that's going to be linked to containers being more expensive. Actually, and I think I've read about this one. I also think I threw you tweet about this specific companies have stopped certain production just as energies too high. Isn't there like a Dutch steel? Plant that closed down. Yeah, that was aluminum. And so aluminum is a very electricity oriented metal to produce to refine that. And so it actually it's funny because that's often been compared to Bitcoin, where if a country has a ton of exces electricity, one of the things they can do with it is refined aluminum because it's so electricity intense..

"So i think i think they should used the more and i really hate that. They didn't get him back in time before he passed away for Modern who yeah. Well you know they did bring unit back thankfully in modern who with The brigadiers daughter kate stewart for a time so that was good and we also had torchwood which is essentially like a modern version of unit. Little wait a little bit. So saluting cyber man yes. Yeah the the sort of posthumous appearance by nicholas courtney. Yeah as cyberman. Okay well moffitt you know all right. So that original script also featured harry sullivan and miss jackson was supposed to be a guy. Just generic guy didn't even have a character name but then director lennie main built up. The part changed the gender and surprise like i said cast his wife in the role. So i'm sure. His wife was appreciative of that. Needless to say probably scores some husband points. I guess l. dress home was originally identified as the black hole omega four point six but when script editor robert holmes pointed out to baker martin that the name omega had already appeared in the three doctors and which oh by the way was also written by bob baker and dave martin so they decided okay. Guess we'll change the name to castro instead of omega. So apparently they really liked the name..

"It made sense and the doctor made an effort to get her home so to speak. Yeah i mean that's blew it. That's a big deal. He of course he did during the state you need to go right. And i'm glad they remembered that when she comes back. Yeah exactly so in in obviously you know as we know for the modern era. Sarah had some feelings that were you know. Need to be resolved over the way she left in so so tickets. This was the first time i'm guessing you watch the story. No i'm slowly trotting through with other shows gang and i'm just a few stories past that one so it. This year was the first time. I'd seen okay and i watch said the second and third time in prep for this. Okay so so then your reaction to the first time you saw it What did you think having presumably watched school reunion before right. So so what did you. What did you make of seeing. How sarah jane left the first time you watched it. Well if i was. I didn't expect it So it caught me off guard. It doesn't it's not an episode where they make a big deal leading into it or ing it. Just there is at the end so it surprised me and she'd been on there what i felt like. It was a long time. Because when i wash it as a kid. I started out with some tom. Baker's in then it would go back to perky right through that with just a few Peter davison after little loop there under so many bakers that obviously that manipulates it but she just seemed like a fixture of the show to me. Yeah so i think a lot of a lot of people consider her to be the definitive classic. Eric companion maybe overall the definitive doctor who companion for a lot of people and say she's my absolute favorite. Because i hate to slide somebody else. Because i'm always trying to figure that out but when i think tom baker's my doctor right when i turn one on. Oh hey it's tom. Baker await is one of the ones would leila or slight heard. All i think i mean there was some interesting choices with that character but as i oh. I like sarah jane so so so. It's safe to say at least that surgeon is your favorite. Tom baker companion. Well she she's head and shoulders above edrich in those. Let's go without saying yes. Yeah but Address definitely not by a long shot. Leila's okay and i think they do better with her in like some of the novels but yet by far she's the best. Okay that's fair not big. I'm not really keen on the sailor. Dude harry sullivan harry sullivan ronan and then disappears. For no reason. Didn't they mentioned him a few times and then he died while the the actor died..

"I think you'll enjoy it. Now what are the options that one of the things i tend to watch with the new special features because the scene in an episode four par for where you know the the Meriva is you bouncing off of Of the planet's vogler and those were really bad but kind of role spinning ball. Just like you're exactly right exactly so you know what i'm talking about so so to say the special effects of the blu ray set Recommend using that special effects option for that one. Yeah but other than that. Yeah you should watch. Revenge the cyberman and with that. There's there's not a whole lot of updated effects you've got you got a few really nice shot to the cyber ship coming in a docking ray. The cyber ship when it gets one when they blow it up But the biggest thing is when they're approaching boga. Yeah i it's just like it's almost using wash because it's just like big tube with with china and they're spinning it then they're going back and forth as just like come on now granted a lot of people watch doctor who for the cheesy special effects intentionally and i get that i get that so if you wanna do that watch the original. But but you know if you're somebody who realize that story could have used a little bit more check out the special features option that button as i respect people who watch the just from cheesy effects. Though 'cause that's traditional i get it. I get respect that all right so Listener feedback well. We actually have not one to this time. Oh and not the usual to you might think of when you listen to the next up everywhere although we did get holly mac writing in i four mouse so so hi holly thank you so much writing in. She writes in about return to the site remained. Because she's a big big. Finish audio geek. Nice so i respect that. She writes here in charleston. John hello space station nerva. I also have to say that. Sadie miller doesn't awesome job playing sarah jane smith and continuing on her mother's brilliant character. Amen testify the cyber. Men's come in about. Don't harm the cyber bats and we won't harm you. Doctors responsive don't hurt my friends. That was so spot on. Obviously that was one of my favorite quote right coach. "The road fingers crossed so just Especially now that they've also recast carry. It certainly certainly opens the door. Possibly as long as tom baker health holds up. That's the big thing right there. So that's that's our main concern right now. I think all right jimmy things. Yeah this is a few stories that nicholas berg's actually asked for more time to work on the music because apparently is a. He is a complete lover of revenge cyberman. He wanted to get the same kind of kind of upbeat tempos had and just working in like the stuff that he's got. Now bring it into bring it into the into this story along with some of the old cattle catchy little poppy theme tunes and everything you that are kind of synonymous with revenge cyberman and you can hear your year elvin of revenge but then you also hear other elements like say like sort of a ryan. Oh yeah yeah the kind of merge sort of ryan's one of my favorites. Yeah you know. That's another one we talked about. But you know it's paul mcgann's second audio doctor for big finish. So good so yeah. I never thought of that until you mentioned. But i think you're absolutely right about that connection there john. Yeah i'm not sure who do who the composer was for this. But i thought they did a really great job nailing the era so. I definitely feels like that first. Tom baker season. You know the series. He's in twelve music so Points nicholas breaks for being kind of a fan boy about that and trying to you know get that a little more on target right nothing else. You got some home right now see. It was nice to see them. Bring back The fact that radiation is harmful to the siren that we i saw way back in planet right. Yes those are the original script and not to mention. We also get the five hundred year diary in the story as well when you which actually factors in pretty heavily. I think yeah the yeah. They talked about that. Yeah all right so three topics today so very simple. I think to break this down the topic number one. Let's talk of course are tartus team. So we're talking the fourth doctor and we also wanna talk. Obviously say miller sarah jane smith and christopher naylor harry sullivan and really curious to get your thoughts since i know. You're a old school tom baker fan. What you thought of.

"It's at times like this when I always regret never having taken up the cello. Forget. That was excellent on. All right. So what's everybody's ratings for this one rob Worcester with you on this one? What was rating? How do you guys do your? We do our scale with something like a object relates to the story a little bit. You know like like, for example, for say blank out of ten Tartus Consoles for I'm going to give it an eight out of ten. epidermis growth that's fair. Kate Nights, but he didn't make an appearance here. Yeah. These in some other audio. So don't worry. So you gives you the incentive to keep listening rob. Yes. So I, I don't want to steal your Charles that you WanNa go first well I was GONNA say I'm going to give this one eight of ten security dressers. Okay. So I wouldn't have stolen yours. Like that yeah, I did. I give it eight out of ten butlers named Butler. That was that was another. Yes. There was another great line. Yeah. It was a very great line I also like. Ten on this one. On Sake I did a google search because I'd never heard matches called Lucifer's and and I thought that was interesting when he says that he used the Lucifer that was given to him by someone and. Brand I'm not sure I. Googled it in it. Yeah. It does look like it is that in the England they would call that and I do think it was what slang not that not a brand name. Yeah. Okay. So I learned something today with. The more you know. There, right. So reverse the player at this time. We if you like this story I definitely recommend going back way way back to one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, five with the ARK in space the second serial season twelve in nine hundred and seventy-five written by the Great Lake Great Robert Homes, and in this one, the tards materializes on space station NERVA. So essentially when the doctor was talking about well, Hey, I've been here before. Only, that's far in the future. That's what he's talking. That's what he's referring to. Very cool. So which also. Makes an appearance in three stories from this one in revenge of the Cyberman as well. But in this one, you know he's in the year sixteen, thousand, eighty, seven and We have the doctor and Harry Sullivan. Exploring Sarah Jane Smith is transported away and placed into cryonic suspension by station computer and hearing the doctor realized that the station kind of arc while Hey, like an Arkansas space, right And Harry searches for resuscitation. Unit. For for Sarah but discovers a mummified alien insect instead, and that leads us all down a rabbit hole where you've got a crew that's revived from suspended animation. But you know kind of like the movie alien someone's been in fact it. And spreads that infection you know. So you have just like a story you've got a lot of body or going on where you've got. Expendable crewmen becoming Alien Wearin and obviously you know the doctor. Harry and Sarah help to battle against the WAREN and. Help you know unlike this story crew doesn't come back magically at the end. The doctor in company helped to get rid of the swarm and help prepare. The are columnist who repopulate the Earth at the end of the story. So Great Great Classic Story. This is only Tom Baker's second story at this point but. I think a lot of classic fans with regard this as a bit of a classic in definitely recommended if you enjoy destination nerva so check it out. Very nice. So we only have one person writing in this time for listener feedback but someone who's obviously very loyal to next stop everywhere David Kay proctor as we know him now Dave who writes in about destination NERVA. He says Dave writes in and says I haven't listened to very many big finish audio plays like the concept. It was good to hear my doctor in adventure I hadn't heard before there's a tiny whiny feature to. The Voice of People Acting Young People in twenty twenty or so using an art form from the nineteen thirties what could be more doctor? Who felt that the story was okay. One might think is a good starting point and perhaps the shows get better as you go along I'm not trying to insult the show, but it wasn't awesome. However, it was good I enjoyed it I give it six epidermis and so difficult practices stinks and then. He writes in with PS. So he wrote into this completely separate email because that would apparently wasn't enough right. Then saying by the way, I bought the big finish audio destination NERVA. It wasn't super expensive but for the length of recording, I get a bigger bang for my buck on different formats. Big Finish. This morning has destination nerva part one for free yet with which I thought was a great little bit of serendipity on our part was. Big, finished as he's little weekly freebies and just so happen this week they gave part one destination. So there you go. Excuses for not checking it out. And David signs are saying the a really enjoyable and now I'm probably hooked. Thanks David. Kate proctor. So we got him. Can I give a pro tip right here that I haven't heard mentioned sure. A lot of these big finish our free on spotify I went listened on spotify had the whole thing and it had interviews at the end about. Episode Die. So yeah, it's there's a lot of material there. I know there's a hell of a lot more out there. Yes. But this one happened to be on spotify and it was a little listen to the entire program. It was great. They go so Argus Nice. Discount Jesse had the Charles Discount because they did already have the CD. So just kind of made a little to me. Yes. Car Copy for review purposes show. Yes. So just sharing that out putting that out there. All right. So if you want to be like Dave and please do we'd love to hear from you hear it next stop everywhere. "The also considered bringing back Harry Sullivan in martyrs character, but the eventually decided well. Okay, we'll just. We're going to bring the brigadier back and which kind of glad they did. Because it's great to have the tradition of. The brigadier meeting another doctor and Those are always fun and. The brigadier being like Sarah Jane Smith One of the main actors who has appeared with so many of the doctors. In doctor, who and then lastly, Johnathan Turner Executive Producer at the time felt that mark strict sins. Blond hair didn't stand out enough. From Peter Davison Blonde hair, so he initially asked marks tricks in shave his head. And he's like no. That's not going to happen. And, so they decided okay well, then we'll working to die your hair red. So, that's not his natural color. Only. His Stylus knows for sure. All right. Okay so four topics like I said. And I. Unfortunately. I didn't have a chance to come up with really cutesy titles. That was very busy this week. So apologies for that, so let's talk about the fifth doctor in the nineteen, eighty-three Brigadier. In Hannah's since you're a special guest. Start off with you first. What do you make of the doctor reunited with the Brigadier? So I? Want to preface this when I. I watched the story a couple of months ago, I had no idea. The rigor deer was going to be in this, and I did not recognize Nicholas Courtney at first without the mustache, but as soon as his I, heard his voice come out, or may or may not have been flailing in squee-geeing on my end. But I think provision I. Yet, but I think gets. It Nicholas Courtney is just one of those actors who has chemistry with everyone and I think he and Peter Davison work well off each other i. Even in the scenes where he's kind of hostile towards the doctor because of his memory blank they. There's definitely Sorta like this Connecticut flow going on and. I, definitely am glad that the they carried on the tradition over to Davidson's fifth doctor so very this. Is a very time. You wind me if you will. But actually works in it, and thankfully we got an explanation for the Briggs Asia so that's cool. All. Right Jesse. What about you? What did you make of? The doctor meeting the older brigadier so essentially like They're almost kind of like meeting different incarnations of each other at this point. I was a little confused at first that why the brigadier didn't recognize him I mean I get at first. He would not know him because you know if I'm the brigadier, not every person I meet and like oh Dr Oh, I wonder if it's the doctor. So that makes sense, but after a few statements, you would think you've done it again. Dr, which is actually he said yes, later in the episode so I. I liked how that. The reveal in that the the pacing of that where you know, he starts remembering and like Oh, the that she had an Australian guy know that girl Shannon Australian accent the it it also. To me. It in this may be just me reading into it and I only watched the episode the one time, but the modern. Brigadier Yes. Seems to be not as put together as the early brigadier and I think that's because of the memory blockage because you notice his. The seventy seven brigadier, everything seems shipshape in his house, right? You know his house is very. Organized than SPA you know since coming up because he's coming out of the military. Yeah, and then the the modern was a lot more relaxed than. Sloppy almost casual, and in fact, the doctor seems surprised about that and I was in when I saw the when we going back in time and saw the original. Aw, something's happened to the. To the Brigadier. That would explain why his you know. His abode would be different I like the interaction between it. One of the regrets I have is a fan. Is that The actor never had a chance to actually be in doctor who proper in the modern era? I know that he was in Sarah. Jane Smith and I and I know they wanted to have them because of illness, he couldn't but I there is. It is one of my phantom regrets. Because he should have, he should've been He earned that right as as a as a character in such a longtime companion to have been at least once had met one of the modern doctors in doctor who proper so good to see him. Happy. guess so. It I always like seeing. Davison though now that you mentioned the the sweater vest. Yes, I am sweating for him. Just almost as much as I am for Tom Baker in the scarf in the Willie Cup, coach. Especially when he's doing all that running right? Now. Go ahead. I had a dream. I was caused playing that once I. Don't own it, but I was roasting in that dream in it. I've always wanted to 'cause. Play the fifth doctor, but never quite put it together. I've got a Panama Hat. But I've got a pullover, but that's as far as it goes, so he's the real kicker. In the dream I look down and I realized that I bought the wrong pants looks. Ono New Stripe Pajama Pants..

"Because Take A DRINK. Every one of the pacing on this is pretty solid. Here we go. You know it's a drinking game yes This was a very solidly paced episode. It it moved along very well got great flow it does. It's a tight little four parter lots going on. There's a lot of plot. Guess in this one and So any so jesse before we get started since you kind of rolling on this Any other general thoughts before we I really liked the given flow You know once again It was kind of interesting. Linda came in while I was watching it and was asking a few questions and so I was able to explain that You know this Sarah Jane Smith. Many people think is the Is the obvious you know. One of the if not the best companion ever. She's in the discussion. And so it's so what's funny is. Every time Linda saw in adult male she goes this doctor and I go no. Okay Well Dr. Though and then Baker walks in she goes. Okay obviously this is the doctor and I said yes. It is And we got to talk a little bit or by the bout the iconic scarf and how that means to a lot of people that was that was the picture of the doctor And also would let it to My empathy for the class players in Atlanta Georgia on Labor Day. Weekend who dressed as the fourth doctor and August in ore at Comic Palooza in Houston during Memorial Day weekend that I don't care how much that building air condition. That is a hot costume. I feel bad for also the the the fifth doctor Peter Davison 'cause players in the semester McCoy cost players because they have those pullovers. Yes on them. So it's like if you know in a hot climate. Yeah I can get imagine that especially with a the pullover and the Cote yes. That's that's gotta be pretty rough as in hotlanta weather when when When she saw Harry Sullivan instead. Is that the doctor. Did you say well? He is a doctor And She stuck around just long enough to see one ending and another beginning and I was. I was explaining to her. That the pacing is Really well done this one. Sometimes it's not I said and of course when you're watching it this way You get the you know. They repeat the end of the episode and she goes well. Why and I'm like well because originally was shown once a week you know this was something and so. She enjoyed the few minutes not enough to keep watching the whole episode but she enjoyed a few minutes of it I just once again. Kinda Kinda. I'm Kinda oddly. Reassure that Jesse talks about pacing to his wife as well as us. I you know every time I see an episode A classic episode you've learned to appreciate the classic doctors even more you find something special with them And and I just love seeing the Brigadier Harry. This was just a really nice setup. I actually think the and we'll get to this but there's a couple of things that are weak plot points but when you but after watching the episode reading about it. I think that's universally agreed that it was a week pop point and they just kind of. Oh will distraught. Worry about that because the rest of the story was so strong but yeah I really liked it Charles. This was a great one to pick Jesse Jesse teasing that when John Johnny. You have any general thoughts of your own before we get into our topics. This has been a favorite of mine since Oh Jeez since I saw it on. Pbs YEARS AGO Tom Baker's might. He's my favorite dog. He's not my Dr. Peter. Cushing was my first doctor but Tom Baker has always been my favorite but Yeah this Peter cushing counts now eight was he after the time children and everything counts now did he didn't see his face though. No but but as Russell t eighty said He said with this new. They all count because he talked about that kind of behind the scenes that he thought was now out of continuity he said now they all count that because of this new change assets. I will say I love those two movies but you know he tried to get up. Peter Cushing's picture on the Bulletin Board in the day of the doctor right but apparently they took it down. Yeah Yup little funny story though This episode can be seen on Pluto. Tv All the time. This this story and I was just last week. I was had a and I get to the point where You see the Zygote his hands for the first time going over all the organic circuitry in their in their they look like little like pepperoni pizzas and all that suicide cuts to commercial because Pluto has commercials. Domino's pizza ad. I was using it. That's great that is really great feedback. That synergy right there. That's corporate sent corporate synergy right there all right so let's get into our main topics three just three this time but pretty straightforward but it did come up with some titles for these topic. Number one the hitchhiker's guarding the galaxy in this. I want to talk about the Doctor Harry and Sarah Jane Kinda use hitchhikers because hey they've essentially Hitch a ride with who they think. Is.

"His offer was trying to do different stories so I of agree with him on that because Tom Baker to make his own era instead of recycling. Jon Pertwee's I get that too it. Just it's it's kind of It just it's such an iconic character you would have liked for them to see it more often but It is nice to see that he comes back Again with the fifth doctor. And then you know continues on at Trivia. Nicholas Courtney actually asked Phil Pink Cliff to kill off the brigadier in this Story didn't add and he and he sees like no word you we might need you down the line. And then he then he was He almost died was killed off in battlefield. If I'm not and they chose to keep them alive then to you were supposed to die in bed. Yeah exactly very nice. So vest require you reference there excellent good job so this is why I missed having John and the podcast. He's so great at this So we also Jon Levine as sergeant. John Benton were Rsm Benton as he's credit John would nuts as the dual role of the Duke of four Gill in Proton. He's very interesting actor in this one. He's was at a previous story. The the Spearhead from space. He was in and as Hibbert in any elsa play the coney emperor in frontier in space and then later he turned up as consul. Seren IN MY F- The first full complete story. I saw the keeper of Truckin. So so can't carries all the way from the beginning of the Jon. Pertwee era of right almost up until the end of the junk or the Tom Baker era we had lilius Walker sister. Lamont also has gone surprise Russell as the keeper and he was a guard in the power of the daleks Patrick Trautmann's for story and it was also in a couple of SCI FI classics. You may know space one thousand nine hundred and Blake's seven And if I recall correctly John you are a big lake seven fan if I'm not yes and you need to start watching it. Yes I do but the added lists at things that Yes yes see. See Jesse personal there is. I've got all kinds of people recommending. Say you need to watch this. I hear that all the time. Yeah of course. Hbo Max Launches Today. Yes it did. I got my phone already. And Hey it's got doctor who on it you guys? So if you've been missing your new and if you got an HBO subscription you already get Hbo so so just a little heads up on that one. Well we're thinking about it lasts. Also I WANNA mention Angus Lennie as angus appropriately enough. He was in a Patrick True Story. He played a character named store. S. T. O. R. R. S. Dior E and. He was also in the movie. The great escape one of the classic films. If you're at all familiar with that moving so I thought I'd give him a little shout out We talked about the brigadier now. This story in John. Probably already wear this because he is. The Trivia King apparently was originally intended as the finale for season twelve which would have ended the Tartus Cruise Adventures and delivered Harry Sullivan back to Earth but instead because of scheduling they held it back and then decided to make it the first story the following season season. Thirteen yeah I was reading. Get something to do with them. Changing like instead of premiering and one month they wanted to move it up and premiered into different month so they are able to make that change and so this was an you know. This is my first time seeing this episode and it's a really strong episode and so I can see. This was a good way to start the new season it was. I think it would have been a better season finale than revenge of the. Cyberman if you you know the the season twelve finale but But as a season opener it definitely works. I think so johnny. Do you have any other tribute like to share with class? Oh well the At the beginning there was actually a deleted opening. They were originally going to have the targets of materialize invisible. Just like in the invasion one of my favorite patron stories. Talk about that one absolutely But they scrapped it. Because the lighting was was off they couldn't match the lighting from the previous scenes that were filmed so they just went with what was previously recorded. but yeah continuity decision Yeah exactly yeah exactly because Like I said with the Everything that they had filmed because obviously they don't film things in order. The lighting was way off and they couldn't they couldn't get to match just right so they were just like scrap. It and you can actually find that On Youtube Yeah Okay because because it was filmed outdoors. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah you can. Actually you can actually see that opening also on the DVD. Really if you have. Because there's like a kind of a film version where all the episodes are edited together. I'm new additions. Thank you and so I believe. That is also edited in there as well for that mistaken. It's been whilst inside pulled it out. Yeah it's either. It's either set up as a deleted scene or at on the Omnibus Omnibus. So if you want to check that out it's pretty cool so all right anything else Will at this This story when filming it. There is a huge argument between Nicholas Courtney and Tom Baker By this time Tom had been in the role for a little while and he was starting to get a little too big for his Britches. And this this is when he started to resolve stories about Tom. Baker throwing away three scripts out the window and all that he did that during filming on this episode. He basically lashed out at one of the One of the Assistance it was kind like his Christian Bale moment and Nicholas Courtney He. Did you know who I am? Kind of business. Yeah it's all good for you That right Nicholas Courtney not going to have it and Yeah he He told them off and the two of them didn't talk for years interesting. I did not know that. Very good interesting. So little Animosity there with the brig and the doctor and lastly what I got is This is good for Jesse because originally this was penned as a six part story and they cut it down to four. So thank you thank you thank you. I was very happy..

"Slaven. She's no longer with us But they have brought in Sadie Miller who Elizabeth's Laden's daughter to play her mother's probably most famous role as Sarah. Jane Smith they did post a small teaser. Which you can listen to it just that little bit. She sounds a lot like her mother. So that's a pretty good So but that's kind of exciting that we're finally going to get a version of Sarah Jane in big Ash if you think about 'cause I remember when he was misleading passed away. It was nine years ago and they had just announced that Tom Baker was going to start doing big finish because there are several years he just didn't and and I was like Oh cool. They'll be you know some. Dr Sarah Stuff and then Slayton passed away and it's like well now. We're not going to get that. And she did do a Sarah. Jane Smith Series for big. Finish back in two thousand two. I believe which that's one of the flash sales they're having which is which is pretty good but it's like it's not Sarah in the dock so it was it was just it just kind of felt like it was just such a big letdown. Has now never get that again. But now we're bringing it in some format and just just as a point of appoint a note Christopher Naylor will be playing Harry Sullivan since he and Martin also has has since passed. So am I so yes. So let's it's it's exciting. It's like you get Sarah inhering.

"Big Fail moment on their part so all right anything else about Catholic sookie or either as we should call him all right all right. Let's move on topic number three the editor and the mighty Jagr fess so so. What are your thoughts on our big bads? This time Simon Pegg is just chewing that scenery and I love it. No you can't do anything bad. Can't he's just he's so much fun to watch. Obviously he's a doctor who fan from back in the day so he probably really geeked hard on this I I mean he just he Cami is playing in essentially bet businessman. WHO's trying to sell something as an trying trying to please the higher ups with I mean? Obviously he is the human representative the coalition of this group of banks who are under the service of the geographies. Though I I will admit when I was watching him this time around. I got some vibes of the SIM master Bouncy kind of Sir. You keep pumping that thing. Open my forehead stock in but But yeah he he does have a semester vibe. I never really thought about that. But you're right maybe it's just because the goatee and the little the short cropped hair this was also written by Russell t davies so maybe just kind of likes that kind of Guy Hi fi or at least that kind of bad guy bad but as having the time of their life do I get exactly exactly exactly and Johnson Kinda chewed the scenery quite a bit as the master to obviously. So how can you not though your doctor who Bagai Guy. How can you not do that scenery and enjoy it? At least I would if I had the opportunity I know I would So Yeah Yeah. The editor is essentially. See the designated representative from the bank. Like you said His his is essentially the checker festivals handler. He's the guy that like. Okay I know you WanNa do your whole big evil thing but You know like I'm GonNa help you but this is how we're GonNa do it We essentially talks about how the empire behind all this is essentially controlling. Humans Talking about how that humankind has been controlled by the mighty Jagger US and they've been manipulating the news. Creating a climate the fear controlling the economy and keeping the borders closed and Again Very prescient of twenty nineteen a little bit too uncomfortable right. Yeah about how things are these days. So yeah sounds familiar. Doesn't it So so Once again Dr who calling the predicting the future. So essentially humanity has become enslaved without really knowing that their slaves the doctors not up for the philosophical debate. No no he's not really down with that. Especially since Earth favourite planet as we know He's a little protective of it and because for what they use investment so much time into it by now he's he's a feels a little protective of it and possessive. And it's like don't you be messing with my people we gotta get to the year. Five billion I all this work. Do I save earth time and time again so you WANNA keep messing this up as I do. Wonder the Jagger says an entity was needed. Considering I mean we get we see Simon Perez editor doing all this stuff barking the orders to the you know I guess you could say chip controlled corpses at this point. Right but the Jagger fans is just sort of suspended from the ceiling and his gnashing around Blake the MGM Studios Lines are wrong. I mean I mean now we want to see those opening credits I want to see the MGM credits with jacker offense. That would be hilarious. I mean see. It says that the geographies does all this but we don't see it. Yeah and it's not verbal so you can't tell us what he's doing. The geography is essentially. He's upper management. That doesn't don't do a whole lot. You know like in corporations you know. Just he's Kinda there he's kind of annoying. He talks a lot but he doesn't really accomplish much. It's mostly up to his underlings link. That does all the heavy lifting the editor. So so and the editor is there to kind of placate the jacker fast to essentially go like okay. Okay whatever boss you know. I'm on it. Relax just chill. I've got this Don't worry You know just keep barking your orders. I'M GONNA do my thing and everybody you'll be happy. Don't worry I do wonder why the Tartus did not translate wait. What was going on about? Well let's well you know sometimes like in the impossible planet there are You know if it's older than tortoise maybe doesn't translate very well something really old. But I'm the time before the universe began. There is only the beast and Dagger Fez hanging from the ceiling blah. Exactly I don't know it it. Just yeah he just kind of hanging there going like. I wish some people would come along this. This is getting really dull just hanging here okay. I'M GONNA I'm GonNA count the dots on this ceiling over here now. Really bored out of his mind. Finally some people finally people show up and I can boss them around. Ray All right but the He's a yeah. I'm not sure exactly what the geographies really brings apart from. Just looking very intimidating as this kind of really angry on the ceiling but I mean one of the I think the general the Hor- humans the human great the fourth grade powerful Human Pam Human Empire. Excuse me is not being controlled by humans and you want us. If you want to sell the point you make the only and look at the least bit human as possible and obviously do that by taking away. Identifying humanoid NYC Caracteristics such as limbs and is right. And that's and that's kind of one of the things that the editor is very good at is that he sees kind of the where the trouble trouble-makers are and makes an effort to kind of take them off the board so they keep that control. I think so Anything else about these characters Anything else about the episode. You WanNa talk about before we get into our favorite quotes. I think this one gets a kind of a bit of bad rap unnecessarily I mean. It's not a perfect episode. But what what which one is in all honesty. That's true. I mean a lot of people. Sure would say blink but but that one doesn't even have the doctor in it a lot. So how is that really perfect. I mean I I think it's also a Nicholson episode episode. And he gets real Shane that he was only the doctor for the one series. So any I think any episode with him in it should be treasured. And I I mean molly nudging the faults and I think this is a perfectly decent episode. I have no. I have nothing against this episode. I think there's obviously been much worse episodes of Dr who I think this is kind of like right in the middle somewhere. I think it's safe to say it's not horrible. It's not superb but but it's perfectly quickly decent and And it's like a lot of fun and obviously it's fun watching. Simon Pegg is a bad guy. So how can you go wrong with that. My opinion all right So do you only favorite quotes see. I got a couple for it so this one. It's it's a kind of an exchange between a nurse. It's an atom it's what are you a student and Adam replies. Yes I yeah. I'm are on a research project from the University of Mars and the nurse replies in the Martian boondocks. That's a good one. I remember that that's good any others you got. It's one of the editor create a climate of fear. And it's easy to keep. The borders close is just a matter of emphasis. The right word in the write broadcast repeated needed often. Enough can step to stabilize. Economy invented enemy and Change Vote Nice. That's good yeah. I liked the doctor to Adam early on the episode where he's kind of giving time travel instructions a little bit and he goes thing. Is Adam time travel is like visiting Paris. You can't just read the guidebook you've got to throw yourself in eat. The food use the wrong verbs get charged double and ended up kissing complete strangers. Or is that just me. Stop asking he questions. Go and do it so little time. Travel advice from the doctor and how to effectively time travel Also liked Catholica and the doctor where she goes. Come on. How can you get on board without knowing how where you are in the doctor? Replies look at me I'm stupid read. That's great that was good And then I have the the doctor and the editor where the doctor who says you mean that things in charge of satellite five and the editor replies that thing as you put it is in charge of the human race for almost one hundred years. Mankind kind of been shaped and guided his knowledge ambition. Strictly controlled by the broadcast. News edited by my Superior Your Master and humanities guiding lights the the mighty Jacker Fest of the Holy Hadra Jessica Mexa Rodent. Fro- I call him Max Yeah that's a bit of a tongue twister by the ways. Apparently Simon Pegg had trouble with that a little bit during the Jin. Yeah it's a tough one Do you have any other quotes. Just just one more from Adam's mother Oh let me look at you only six months. It's like as time goes by just like that. Yup snap interface and that was I thought that was a fun way to end the episode. I like that all right So what's your ready for this one. I if this eight out of ten prompt burgers it's not the best but it's not the worst end. It is perfectly sustainable. Decent like doctor who comfort food. Yeah exactly so we're in sync. I totally agree I gave it added up ten mighty jacker fences of the Holy Hydra. Jessica Mexa it's a rodent foe so points do you. I mean it's tricky but but I've had L. practice. I guess which is harder to say that erects a CALICO fell Torius. I think the I think the magic of the Holy Hydrogenic Jessica Mexican Road Info is a little tougher than Mexico fouled Pretorius. But that's all right. Yes I'm showing off so all right so reverse the player this time if you enjoy the long game and hope he did. I recommend going back to all the way back to one thousand nine hundred seventy five to check out something from the classic era with the Ark in space the second serial season twelve and nineteen seventy five written by Robert Holmes one of my favorite writers from the classic era. This is a Tom Baker era story with the fourth. Doctor where we have the hardest materializing realizing on space station NERVA in the year. Sixteen thousand an eighty seven. So that's kind of where the similarity is where we have a another big space station in the future where things go horribly horribly wrong. And this time while the fourth doctrine Harry Sullivan explore surging urging Smith gets transported away and placed into a cryonic suspension by the station. Computer Harry and the doctor realized that the station is surprise. Some kind of arc just like the space right Discovering Sarah Harry searches for a resuscitation unit but Discovers the mummified alien insect instead of a woman called Vera revised from suspended animation to revise both Sarah and Noah who is Space Station nervous. Leader the doctor tells vera that nervous inhabitants have overslept by several millennia. Thanks to the insect visitor that sabotaged the control. "Thank you, Greg. And we are coming to you live from the Bloomberg interactive brokers studio, Senate Republicans pushed back a bit on President, Donald Trump, including the threat of a veto override after. He's kind of scoffed at the possibility that members of his own party would dare try to block his plan to impose a tariff on Mexico over concerns about potential economic fallout. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell. Well, there's not much support in my conference for tariffs. That's for sure. I think it's safe to say you've talked all of our members were not Fanta tariff. We're still hoping that this can be avoided Harry Sullivan as a partner at firehouses strategies and was the campaign manager for Marco Rubio's 2016 presidential campaign. And he joins us now in our Bloomberg ninety nine one studio here in Washington DC, Terry. It's a pleasure to have you, thanks so much. Thanks for having we're looking to get some insight into how all of this is working, particularly in the Senate. Republicans don't like taxes. I think that's established. I think the next thing that's kind of well established by everybody except for anybody in the Trump administration is tariffs are taxes tariffs are taxes on Americans and it, it's just perplexing, as to why they think this is a good idea. That's that's going to if their argument is that that, you know, Mexican illegal immigration early limitation coming from Mexico is hurting American workers. Why the heck are we slap? Ping them with a tariff that they're gonna have to pay more for their goods. I gotta ask you about something. Republican Senator Kevin Kramer of North Dakota said he tells Bloomberg quote, you've heard of people who are war, weary. Senate Republicans are tariff, weary, what does he mean? Does he have a point? Yeah. Look, I think the president and finally may have hit a tipping point with Republican elected officials carrying his, his water on on. Unorthodox not conservative policy, and, and, and it's not be out of some sort of ideological standing. It's that finally the voters have have yelled at them enough that this is hurting. And when you look at an a Senator from from North Dakota those farmers and, and, and the trade that comes through through, Canada and the imports and the exports that, that are costing more. Just is a real world issue. It's not a theoretical issue about where, you know, the president said something offensive, but it doesn't impact me this is impacting everyday American voters, and they're telling their elected officials and that's why they're finally saying enough. I know you say it's not necessarily ideology and I understand that because this is really where the rubber meets throw this kitchen table issue. However, there have been people on both sides of the political aisle who have been saying, dairy loudly that President Trump isn't really a Republican Republican does this peel that curtain back and say, oh, look maybe he's not as Republican. As a Republican is, well, look, I don't think that's surprising to anybody. And I and I don't think it honestly, hurts him in the eyes of most voters. And so they, you know, he he got elected pretty much on being a not Republican Republican. I don't think there's anybody that thought you know, this guy is in the mold of, you know, Bob Dole and George H W Bush, he was an outsider that was his entire brand is, I'm going to go and drain the swamp. The problem is, is where we're impacts policy. That actually is hurting the people that he claims to be championing issues for. And then when they say, wait that rhetoric is great, and we like it, that he's up, there sticking to those politicians on, and that he's not afraid to say what he's thinking, even if it's offensive run up until it's wait. Wait I can't export my products as a farmer or everything's going to cost me more because and it's not just, you know, it's, it's you see this in these retailers across the board, everything costs. More fuel is going to cost more. I mean if you told. People that this and the only thing that, that the president has got going for him on this. I think is that most folks don't understand what a tariff is, and what it really means and he's tried to do tried very hard to message it as a tax on China, but the reality is the taxes or attacks in this case on Mexico, morality is the people paying the tax or the American consumers, and they're starting to figure that out because it, it's getting more expensive. And this is going to kick in and just a few days. It's not just that it's gonna kick in a few days. It's five percent a month every month. It's twenty five percents insane. Okay. So let me let me get your, your take on this. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. One of the staunchest allies of President Trump has come out and said, yeah, this is a terrible idea. So is he the guy who's actually going to cause the break from the for the Republicans from the White House, or is he the guy who's going to go to the president getting his ear and say, maybe we could save a little face into this different way? I think what you're seeing right now, especially in the Senate with Republican senators is they are in the president's ear. But one of the best ways to get the president's ear is on FOX and friends or or through through the media through the New York Times he claims to not read the failing New York Times, but it's amazing how he tweets things out from them immediately. At the end of the day, sometimes the way to communicate to this president is in the media, and I think that's what these, these senators are doing this. Don't do this. Don't make us embarrass you. And look, a lot of them come and go on their opinions and they'll but, but I think what you really need to watch. Here's Mitch McConnell, when he comes out and says this is this is not a good idea. This is my conference is not going to support this. That means actions going to happen, if you push forward their ten seconds. Are there concerns among those senators about losing their own base versus angering, the problems shillue? That's, that's, that's the most important thing to them. All right. That was ten seconds.
